26 Mar 2012 - Update Highest Rated Pain Stories Highest Rated Gain Stories Vodafail Local Facebook Page
Dear visitor,

Since its inception Vodafail.com has made a significant contribution towards raising awareness of the problems and issues faced by Vodafone customers.

Vodafone Australia customers have had the opportunity to voice their concerns, their fears and their troubles from every corner of Australia and beyond our borders. You have gathered the courage to stand up for your rights as consumers and to make your voice heard.

Each and every person who shared their story should have a sense of pride in this achievement and the changes that have occurred since the start of Vodafail.com.

More recently, traffic to Vodafail.com has declined significantly. Having achieved the goal of raising awareness and promoting concrete action in early 2011, we have now reached the point of closing Vodafail to new complaints. The site will remain online for as long as possible as a reminder and an example of what is possible when we share our experiences.

It has been a privilege to run this initiative and I'm am forever grateful for the help and support I've received. In particular I would like to thank Melissa, David and Travis for their continued efforts over the past 15 months. I'm also thankful and humbled by the support of ACCAN, Choice magazine and a wide range of media outlets, blogs and websites.

You can still browse existing stories and find out how to file a complaint if you are experiencing problems.

Until next time,

Adam Brimo

21199 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Like the Qld Labor party at 26 Mar 2012 11:11:11 AM
The only organisation loosing its customers faster than Vodafone is the the Labor party in the Queensland election. Some similarities are deceiving their customers, lying, covering up, making promises that aren't kept (its been 2 years that they have said that they have been improving the network)and a complete lack of service and support. Fortunately, I have only 2 months to go and it goodbye Vodafone forever.

21195 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Dire trouble at 24 Mar 2012 10:58:23 PM
According to The Sydney Morning Herald on 22 March, V.fone have lost 500 000 customers and $350 million They are facing a huge challenge to restore their customer base. I can't imagine that many of the customers whom have left, will be returning. I left for Telstra (after 15 years with V.fone) and I am a very happy customer. I am not contemplating returning to V.fone. They might have a new CEO but personally I reckon in five years, V.fone will be finished in Australia. Their network is still poor and I customers just keep leaving.

21193 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is going to reap what they sowed at 24 Mar 2012 09:24:32 AM
I no longer have a problem with Vodafail.

I gave them the flick 3 days ago to go with another company after 17 YEARS!

17 years with mostly good reception & a reasonable deal. However from about a year ago nothing but aggravation.

Actually I tried to switch to Telstra at their ultra state of the art (?) new local store after being politely attended to by a nice attentive young lady on my initial visit. However on the follow up to sign up for the negotiated package deal, I was informed it was her day off & none of the disinterested bunch of retards could find my already negotiated deal & were not interested enough to give me any kind of help because they had more important things to do like squeezing their pimples & setting up the new 4G giant size plastic icon.

Gave the situation a little thought & went over to the Optus shop where I was treated as if I was a long lost member of the family. So based on nothing more than being treated like an actual person instead of a statistic I ended up with a far better deal on 2 phone deals & a broadband line account.

So far in 3 days I have had every inquiry & set up problem answered satisfactorily & (almost) immediately. I have read the online forums & there are pros & cons with all the telcos but as far as I'm concerned the most important thing is to be able to communicate with someone if there is a problem & I'm getting that now.

So bye bye LARA, bye bye totally no reception most of the day, bye bye hanging in a phone queue for 3 hours until Mumbai answers with total denial of anything I want to happen. Bye bye after 17 years of being a customer who always paid on time!

If anybody from Voadafail gets to read this -- kiss my ar-e! Bye Bye!

21189 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is The worst kind of fail at 23 Mar 2012 05:32:21 PM
Long story here

Got a iphone3g sometime in 2010, I think about april. I had intermitant 3g signal at my home address and at work I had almost zero reception. Seems these are the 2 places I use my phone and both were suppose to have full coverage I began negotiations to be excused from my contract due to poor service. Several months and many many cals later I was allowed to return the phone and cancel the contract with no discharge fee.
Some dates here are aproximations but are still fairly accurate.
August 2010 Ported phone number to Telstra
Septempber 2010 Handset sent back to VODAFAIL

I thought all was good at this point.
OCT - NOV 2010 Recieved call from NRG (debt collection agency) that I had a debt of approxmately $1300 ( the Balance of the contract). Told them The was no debt and to speek to vodafone.
Call Vodafail straight after NRG. THe consultant said the handset had not been recieved, It was sent registered post. They promised to call back and never did. 1 week later I called them and they said the handset had been found, the debt would be recalled and I would have no outstanding balance.

Febuary 2011 Receive call from NRG about that $1300 debt. Told them the same story again and that they need to take it up with Vodafone.
Called Vodafone who said they would sort it out and call me back. Once again they established there was no debt and couldnt understand why NRG had the file.
Never got the call back, I rang them back complained again about the lack of call backs. They reiterated that it had been sorted and that there was no Debt.

Fast forward to 2012. ( I thought it had been sorted.)

March 2012 Apply for credit card with my bank and get declined due to a default on my creditfile.
Do a Veda credit check and discover vodafone have defaulted me for the $1300
Call Vodafone and once again I am told there is no debt. I tried to get my history from the consultant and after alot of arguing I manage to get this info.

April 2011 Default placed against my name.
August 2011 Handset Is finally logged in properly. Aparantly due to a mistake / mistakes in the warehouse the data was never sent to another department of vodafone. (not sure how it works exactly consultant was very vague)
The default against my name was suppose to be withdrawn but for what ever reason it wasn't.

I asked the consultant if I could have a full history of my corespondance with them so I might better be able to sort things out with my bank and I was refused.
I was told Sorry. I will email you a letter about there is no outstanding debt, and the default has been recalled. ( sorry about the wording cant remember exactly what he said.

I estimate I have spent 15+ hours on the phone trying to sort this out over 2 years.

Vodaphone USB modem [pre paid] have major issues connecting to network. Biggest issue is if you actually connect and use the modem, the computer then it refuses to let the computer shut down. Not using the modem results in normal shutdown. check on other compters same thing. Updated software,Shut down certain ways etc.etc still does it. Vodaphone are no help "its not our modem". You are doing something wrong. Well tell me what I need to do so I can FIX the problem. I have 20yrs experience in the computer industry: which is 19.85yrs more than the person who is informing me that I am doing something wrong. Should have known better.

21175 Someone from WA thinks vodafone is EXTREME at 21 Mar 2012 06:38:07 PM
Myself, my partner, colleguae and atleast 5 other people residing in Kalbarri WA have lost Vodafone network coverage since Tuesday 13th March (over one weel now). I phoned the first day I lost coverage to be told it was an issue with my handset. Funnily enough it was picking up other networks and then I realised it would be Vodafone seeing as just about every person I know using Vodafone in my area has lost coverage as well. Upon calling back I was again told it had to be my handset - mentioning the others who had the same problem, the customer service person confirmed there was a network problem. When my collegaue phoned, she was told it was her handset, and again Vodafone eventually admitted it was their network except a comment was made that a tower was being upgraded in our area over the next 12 months! As I was in desperate need of a means of contact being 6 months pregnant and loosing all of my exisiting vodafone credit, I phoned back again to request the phone be unlocked at no fee. Again a new customer service person tried to tell me it was a handset issue and offered $5 vodafone credit which obviously can't be used. After words with the manager at the time I convinced them to agree to drop the unlocking fee of $75 which was more than 48 hours ago (I am still unable to unlock the phone online.)
So here I am left wondering, how many others have had this problem and are turned away by Vodafone to say it's a handset issue. I especially am frustrated that I do not have a reliable means of contact as I cannot use the Vodafone network at all and am still waiting on them to unlock the phone so I can use a network that will provide service. After being a Vodafone customer for over 4 years I am extremely disguisted in the service and that no announcement was made to give notice of the network problem. Simply buying another phone is not a suitable resolution for me as it's well past it's return date and had been working for many months prior.
21 Mar 2012 07:05:59 PM: I feel your pain.

Why continue with VF if there is no resolution in the near future? Why not take your business elsewhere to a provider who can offer coverage and service?

Suggest you contact VF again, give VF the opportunity to rectify/remedy/fix the lack of coverage within a reasonable time scale, say 10 working days and if there is no improvement then demand to be released from your contract.

If VF say yes, then take your business elsewhere, if they say no, then consider an alternative strategy using the TIO.

The TIO will ensure VF either resolve the issue in 10 working days or alternatively seek the other solution of cessation of contract.

A simple online form that takes less than 5 minutes to complete.

21172 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Not improving as promised at 21 Mar 2012 02:13:40 PM
For a period of 4 days from 13-17 March, it took over 10 attempts to make a call out at my home location, which has had relatively decent coverage prior. Client calls wouldn't even reach my voicemail - they would be faced with a "beep, beep, beep" and then a failed call. I run a business from home, and Vodafone had failed to give me notice of some 'upgrades' that were going to create blind service spots. It was after the fact that Vodafone acknowledged the issue - and due to monetary loss I potentially incurred, offered to give me a 50% discount on my plan for 3 months. If service gaps continue, I'll be cancelling my contract.

21170 Someone from ACT thinks vodafone is getting worse at 21 Mar 2012 01:24:42 PM
my recption has never been 100%, but it seems to have gotten worse in the last 4-5 months or so. I sit next to a huge window at work, but have to get up and go outside to be heard when someone calls (if I'm in the office, it breaks up to the point that it will cut out eventually). Also, I have been getting a lot, like 40-50%, of my texts very late. Example, the other day I received 3 incoming text in a row at 5:30pm that were all marked as being sent to me at 2:10pm, 2:30pm, and 3:45pm. What's more, I lose reception completely when I go into buildings such as the mall, or grocery stores, etc... Further to this (pauses to take breath...) I can stand in one location (i.e. my lounge at home, office at work, outside on the street in the city) and watch my reception bars go up and down, up and down, and my network change from E, to H, to G at random. And the internet is painfully slow - always has been. I am on a contract, but wonder whether this is enough to get out of it with minimal penalty so I can switch to a more dependable telco. Like I said, it always happened from time to time, but recently it is happening far too often, and I can't justify paying for a service that is this bad.
21 Mar 2012 07:17:36 PM: I feel your pain.

I read somewhere that a lady had to climb a tree to get reception, but even so in this day and age when you pay good money for a service that is what you expect.........good service!

Why should you pay an even minimal penalty to get out of contract when the service is limited at best?

Have you reported the matter to VF? Have VF investigated? If so what was the result?

Suggest you contact VF, report the issue, allow VF to investigate within a reasonable time scale, say 10 working days.

If their service improves then excellent, if not then be prepared to either:

1/ Put up with the limited service
2/ Have reduced access fees for a period of time or to the remainder of your plan
3/ Demand to be released from your contract with no fee/charge of any type to you

VF may release you.

An alternative if they do not release you is to go to the TIO with the matter.

The TIO online form takes less than 5 minutes to complete, VF then have 10 working days to respond.

Every single time I'm on the phone, my calls drop out. I have called Vodafone repeatedly about this issue, they have said they have installed new phone towers and in the meantime gave me a discount on my bills, but there is absolutely no improvement. They should be finished reception upgrades by now, but it is getting worse, not better.
I'm so tired of carrying on a conversation punctuated with "What? I can't hear you, you're dropping out."
Really considering terminating my contract and going elsewhere.

21162 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is bad reception at 20 Mar 2012 12:24:10 PM
I was on three for a couple of years for my wireless broadband and was quite happy. Soon after the vodafone takeover things went downhill fast and reception and speeds forced us over to vodafone. BIG MISTAKE AND WHAT A MESS.
I got my new usb dongle last week and the installed software, whilst installed (windows 7, modern high end pc for graphics work) would not load properly. I was informed it did not need to work through the sofware and I could connect manually which I did, but very inconsistant. Was told I have usb conflicts so was sent the pocket wifi and told this would work as I do not need usb connection. When arrived, did not work unless I used it with my usb cable. Then told my pc did not support WiFi, which they should have established before sending me the device. Even connected the speed is far, far worse than when I was on the old three network. They conclude there may be problems with the local transmitters and that they will pass on the their back room people who would contact me within 72 hours. For goodness sakes if they can not find out in a few minutes whether or not they have tower issues, they have lost the plot. Both me and my wife, she signed up with the new dongle at the same time, have spent hours every day trying to get back to where we were with Three, never mind a better speed, and we can not advise more strongly for people to stay away from this very disfunctional company. We are both out do-day to cancell our contracts and check out someone who can deliver, as this company spouts their capability but fail miserably, whilst still taking peoples hard earned dollars, and wasting their valuable time over complaint phone calls.
20 Mar 2012 12:43:51 PM: What a drama! - And I completely agree with your last statement re: time wasting. Not only do you waste money on this terrible service, the amount of time spent trying to sort out these issues is a huge waste. Most people are pretty time-poor nowadays and don't have the luxury of making multiple phone calls or waiting on call-backs for a substandard service they're paying money for! Most of the time the people that can sort these things out are only available during business hours (and even then, no guarantee it will be fixed). Insane! - hate this company.

JUST WHEN YOU THINK THE VODAFONE SAGA CAN'T GET ANY DUMBER

VODAFONE'S AUSTRALIAN OPERATION PUT ON THE MARKET
by:
Christian Kerr and Mitchell Bingemann
From:
The Australian March 16, 2012 12:00AM
Source: The Australian

THE owners of embattled telco Vodafone Australia are looking for buyers, industry sources say, with an abbreviated information memorandum circulating among potential purchasers in Europe and Asia.
The Australian understands that a preliminary information memorandum to test the market reaction to a sale has been circulated to cashed-up telcos and sovereign wealth funds in Asia, the Middle East and elsewhere.

Qtel, Etisalat, Korea Telecom and NTT Docomo are believed to have seen the initial sales document, as has China Telecom, a controversial potential purchaser.

"Vodafone might say no, but they are hawking it, no question," one industry source said.

Vodafone Australia and one of its two 50 per cent shareholders, Britain's Vodafone Group, vehemently deny that the mobile operation is flirting with a sale and dismiss the suggestion as rumour.

"Vodafone remains fully committed to our operations in Australia and our sole focus is on the turnaround of the business," said a Vodafone Group spokesman.

...Vodafone Australia's other 50 per cent shareholder, Hutchison Whampoa, has also said it is committed to the local operation, and managing director Canning Fok has pledged financial support through the turnaround.

"We have provided and will continue to provide extensive financial support for VHA to accelerate the work needed to ensure all of our customers in Australia enjoy state-of-the-art mobile network services," Mr Fok has said.

However, analysts and industry sources are not convinced and wonder how much money the troubled mobile carrier's shareholders can commit to it, and for how long, especially after the slew of network disasters, profit erosion and customer defections that have plagued Vodafone in the past 18 months.

The Vodafone joint venture lost $336 million in 2011 and shed 554,000 customers (taking its total subscriber base down to 7 million) as ongoing network issues and customer confidentiality breaches took their toll.

Its customer base shrank by 179,000 in the six months to December, compared with gains of 313,000 at Optus and 958,000 at Telstra over the same period.

Its deteriorating balance sheet and exodus of customers has forced Vodafone Australia to embark on a major cost-cutting program that is expected to result in hundreds of job losses as it strives to reignite its sales performance.

Even though the carrier has injected $1 billion to improve and upgrade its mobile network to lure back customers, some analysts predict two more years of losses as spectrum renewal and interest costs hit the bottom line.

Renewal of its spectrum licences is expected to cost Vodafone $710m over the next two years and that will rise to up to $2bn by 2017 once the government finalises auctions of airwaves currently used by analog TV broadcasters.

Vodafone now needed to put a lot more into capital expenditure than it had in the past "just to put a bandaid on its wounds", said one analyst who declined to be named.

"All the problems Vodafone has experienced over the last 18 months have tested its parent companies' patience and we know that Vodafone Group has sold struggling operations in the past, so you can't entirely rule out a sale," the analyst said.

China Mobile, which has almost 650 million customers and which recently set up an office in Australia, is one potential buyer of Vodafone. The Chinese giant last year reported a profit of $19bn on revenues of $80bn.

With about $US50bn ($47.7bn) in the bank and between $US16bn and $US17bn in free cashflow each year, it has the cash needed to fund an acquisition the size of Vodafone Australia.

However, analysts say the Chinese telco would be unlikely to view Vodafone as an attractive prospect because of the limited growth profile of Australia's maturing mobile market.

"China Mobile has growth aspirations but in the past three to four years they haven't made any acquisitions. I'd be surprised if they ventured into Australia anyway because all they want is growth," the analyst said.

"And I also seriously doubt that too many European carriers would want to come to Australia and compete with Telstra and Optus. Life would be very tough, unless of course Vodafone turns out to be a very cheap asset."

MR.FOK,...YOUR COMPANY HAS LIED ABOUT EVERYTHING ELSE,SO... FOK YOU,MR.FOK!

21148 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is No Mobile Broadband still in Hurstville NSW at 17 Mar 2012 10:47:49 PM
Hurstville NSW has major Vodafone mobile data issues at present.
Hurstville Westfields Vodafone Shop staff today confirmed with me that there has been no Vodafone mobile broadband in the shopping centre and around Hurstville for some time and that they have been complaining or alerting Vodafone about this. Vodafone website does not show this major ongoing fault in their Status page, which suggests we are seeing a rerun of late 2010 and 2011 when Vodafone was well aware of the technical faults but refused to let their customers know about this on the website.

My conversation with Vodafone support tomorrow is going to be most interesting when I notify them they are in breach of contract and letting know I will be terminating the contract early without penalty, and demanding credits for only partial supply of service, as soon as I can port away to a supplier that can actually provide a mobile phone+broadband service.

Would not be surprised if Vodafone is about to get some extremely adverse media coverage and quite likely that some senior voda heads will roll over this issue.
I feel really sorry for the voda staff having to deal with this.

Many would consider Voda not fit to hold a carrier licence in the way they continue to appear to be covering up network issues.

i was talking to someone in customer care regarding my bill which was showing a internet pack which i never requested.this lady after checking concluded that i didn't actually request it and it was a system error.they kept charging me for 7 months.and when i asked for my overcharged money back she said it can not be refunded.i was talking very nicely uptill now.then i had to change my tone and give her all sought of bloody reasons why this money should be refunded as she was not able to understand this simple fact that this is a overcharge and this money belong to me. then she started showing me on what she is trained on.to start with she offered me a credit of 50 dollars and then 60 dollars in-spite of the fact that around 160 dollars were taken out of my account by wrong means.then she talked to her supervisor mr richard .as this credit was not acceptable to me,she offered me full money back only because i was getting a bit harsh. i wanted to talk to one of the supervisor but i was told that the supervisor is on break and she can arrange a call back next day.i waited for that call but as usual no one called.then i had to call them back and this supervisor anmol was online with me.the info i got from him was entirely different from what i got told the day before by that girl in so called customer care.she said this pack activation was a system error but this supervisor in his rude tone said that this is not a system error and we are charging you right.in his words he is just honouring the words of that lady in customer care and giving me this credit because she promised it.otherwise i m not entitled to this.he behaved in a manner as he is doing a favour to me.if vodafone starts honouring each-others word like this that will be huge loss for them. one more time,to confirm this, i asked him that when is my other contract for internet is finishing.he went back to check his system and came up with a date 02july.this is when according to him my internet contract is finishing.i said mr anmol according to the contract this should be finishing on 22mar.then he rechecked and concluded that it is 22 mar not 02 jul.in a span of 2 minutes he provided me two different dates.and rather than saying that he was at mistake , he was putting it on some other department saying that the dates were not updated be them. i wonder how they are trained.are they trained from the same book of everyone has got his own different rule book.when i was nice they refused me giving even my money back and when i started being a bit rude they gave me my money and compensated for inconveniences as well.why do we need to use that tone which i myself don't appreciate. every time they say the supervisor will call,u never get a call.everytime u call back and talk to a supervisor , they try to show you the attitude.the dont think that they understand the seriousness of the matter.kindly look into it... ..

21141 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Disgusting!!!!!!!! at 16 Mar 2012 03:46:01 PM
I recently (and successfully) cancelled my mobile broadband contract due to issues after approaching the TIO. Phone contract ends soon and I really don't care about paying more, I just want to get as far away from Vodafone as possible after years of issues.

2009: No issues yet, but then again only had a basic cap and no broadband

2010: Ordered iPhone, was lied to by Customer Service about delivery dates - got different answers over the 7 times I called over the space of 4 weeks. Received my phone and activated SIM but it only actually activated a day later on Vodafone's system.

2011: Got broadband, speed at 1kbps for weeks. Customer Service completely unhelpful, ended up resolving after 3 weeks without their intervention. Multiple issues involving incorrect billing and usage details. myVodafone constantly delaying updating of usage details by up to 12 days. Received a bill one month for almost $4,000 (normal bill is $103 for broadband and phone), but no usage shown outside caps. Apparently a system problem. Received several updates - amount changed to over $4,000, then $13,000 then negative $11,000. After 1 month of trying to deal with Customer Service, submitted to TIO and resolved within a few days.

2012: Cap for mobile broadband showed as incorrect on my account for several weeks - Customer Service couldn't figure out what problem was, took a month to fix. Continuing issues with usage details being incorrect. Broadband and phone signal at home became non-existent. Dealt with several Customer Service reps, all of whom said there didn't appear to be an issue with the network. One blamed me for using the network during peak hours, but couldn't answer when I asked if 3am is a peak hour. Was offered 3 months with a discount but only if I waived my consumer rights and accepted the bad service without question - no guarantee that service would improve. Submitted to TIO and resolved quickly - they also admitted there are major issues in my area, so I was either lied to by the others or their system is inadequate.

Not worth the stress or the cost, looking forward to being free!!!!

Incorrect Billing.
....19 minutes ago 18.3.2012

Hi, i have a $69 infintate plan with a 2Gig Data limit. Now i have recived 2 bills at over $500 and one of them is for Premium Messages which i did not send and i have premium messages barred from my phone the other bill has $500 in data that was used when i use my WIFI at home most of the time. I have rang vodafone and they tell me they can not refund the premuim messages which i did not send they say it came from my number but i dont ever use premium messages, they say that i have to ring the companies that the messages are from and i asked what companies and there was like 10 different compaines so i said why the hell do i have to pay this when i didnt make the messages and they were like well we cant refund that money only the compaines who the messages were to can, and the data charges i got were rediculous because i use wifi when i am at home and hardly use my data when not at home. i am sick of talking to an overseas call center as they are rude and not helpful at all. i refuse to pay the $1200 or what ever it is for these bills. I want this amount cleared and my call barring lifted other wise i will cancell my contract with Vodafone and not pay the cancellation fee and i will go with telstra. So if you can please help it would be greatly appriciated.

Kind Regards

Happened to me, even though premium messaging was disabled, TIO is the ONLY answer. Alas they need to get rid of premium messages all together now as the ONLY solution!
20 Mar 2012 08:37:19 PM: I am having the same issue with the wifi.. AND i have just had my my phone barred too.. I can't help but would be interested to know how you got on with your issue.. I will be doing the same thing tomorrow.

21139 Someone from ACT thinks vodafone is Bad at 16 Mar 2012 11:55:22 AM
Strathfield Area, Sydney

I am trying to run a mobile service business from my mobile phone. It has been ok for the last 12 months but from Friday 9-03-12 I have had voicemails not come in, phone drop out mid calls. incoming caller notified that network is not available, calls fails even to vodafone 1555 customer service number, when I ring a number it can take 60sec to get ring out sound, just a real mess.

Vodafone call service people said that there is an issue and it will be fixed by 25-3-12. This means major losses for me. The government should have enforce a 100% guarantee of service from these companies like that used in landlines and these companies should have backups plans.

Thanks god I am not depending on this phone in a life threatening situation like the elderly.

21133 Someone from ACT thinks vodafone is Being offended and discriminated at 15 Mar 2012 10:18:02 PM
I moved here from England and study a course in Canberra. I signed two plan there (for mobile and broadband) and it sucks! The internet was a torture to me and they failed every time I connected. I cancelled the broadband plan in two weeks after use and then got a bill from them requiring paying two months bills! And two days ago, I got another email from them required me to pay $250 instead of my monthly fee ($49). And the network is very bad. I almost lose the signal every single hour. I was so mad trying to call the customer care services for hours and all I got was just a machine! Then I went to the Civic centre store to check the bill again but then failed to answer every question I asked. After all I decided to cancel the iphone plan but they told me that if I cancelled I have to pay two months fees because it's not their fault! I told them if they didnt do it I would report to Ombusman and they ALL laughed out loud telling me that who will protect an international student then left me there humiliated. I felt so offended and discriminated. Who will protect us in this country?
17 Mar 2012 09:20:13 AM: I feel your pain.

First off welcome to Australia, the best country in the world.

Second, what the store staff allegedly said is totally incorrect and the manner they allegedly dismissed you is also wrong and arguably very un-Australian.

In Oz we have something called the TIO, similar to Offtel in the UK.

Provided you have raised an initial complaint with VF and allowed VF to investigate your complaint within an acceptable and reasonable time-frame, you may then escalate the matter to the TIO should there be no satisfactory resolution.

Have you tried contacting 1555 (VF helpline) and asked for a network investigation? If not then that action is your first port of call. If you have contacted them and they have done their investigation with no service improvement, then the next option for you could be the TIO.

The TIO on line form takes less than 5 minutes to complete and is totally free to the consumer.

TIO contact details found at the top of the page under the How To Complain tab.

Good luck and let us know how you get on!

JANA,GENERAL MANAGER OF BRAND AND COMMUNICATIONS SAYS:
"I have sat in enough focus groups and there is a huge amount warmth and love for the Vodafone brand"

JUST a week after handing its $45 million advertising account to Ogilvy & Mather, Vodafone's general manager of brand and communications, Jana Kotatko, has given an optimistic assessment of the brand while admitting it still faces challenges.

"I have sat in enough focus groups and there is a huge amount of warmth and love for the Vodafone brand," she said.

"We need to focus on our customers and focus on rewarding them for their loyalty and be explicit about thanking them for staying with us even if they may not have had a great experience and communicating with them and reinforcing why they should continue to be with us. It's a huge focus for us."

Well i have been trying to get 3g working at a decent speed and Voda just SUCKS!! i am lucky to get over 10kb/sec where with my iphone tethered to optus i can get 170kb/sec +
I just moved to Melbourne(from Sydney) to open a new branch and dont have ADSL yet installed into my place.
I even went out and purchased a Vodaphone 3G USB modem but i get the same speeds. VODA YOU SUCK AND NEED TO CHANGE YOUR NETWORK, im surprised there isn't a full out class action/war against you.
Oi and btw your website says that your support is 24x7 and there is no wait times, i called and it says to call back at 7AM(no wonder there is no wait times :|). How can a business that offers 24x7 service only support it some hours? seriously!
I will defiantly be getting my boss onto our account manager in the morning and hitting them up!

21103 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Cover up at 12 Mar 2012 07:36:23 PM
Since Vodafone has removed my post off there site in regards to data speeds on the Gold Coast, on there so called stronger 850mhz wifi2 modem, I will reveal the truth of just how slow there network has been done through tests of my own.
Since I use mobilebroad at home for my internet use, I had to download 5 files total size of 1.8 gig. I started the download on Sunday morning at 3am, knowing vodas network would be quiet.

It had taken 12 hours to download 5 files, total size of 1.8 gig. The speed on average was 100kb/s from 3am till 7am, then dropped to a speed of 12kb/s from 7am till 3pm.

Further tests was also done using an old wifi1 modem which works on 2g/3G 2100mhz. I had found that there 2100mhz was fast than the 850mhz network, which would indicate that the 850mhz system was straining to cope with the amount of people on there 850mhz network.

I had checked on vodaphone network page to make sure that there system was up and running. The real problem with Vodafone on the Gold Coast Qld is that there network is not coping, and that they are happy to sell something that doesn't work.

21099 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is very bad at 12 Mar 2012 01:16:26 PM
It started in end of Feb 2012. I received sms that there will be network update in where I live, Hurstville 2220. But even after the mentioned date on 26th Feb. I was experiencing a very weak reception, no signal at all when inside building. Then I also had reception problems in University of Sydney, Camperdown 2006. I complained, handled by the technical support, explained that there is a network upgrade in Camperdown 2006 and was given 25% off my plan for 2 months. And was asked to contact them if by end of March I am still experiencing network problem.

Several days later (after 26-2-2012), I had trouble in Hurstville 2220. I had full bar but no data connection. I tried to contact technical support help but that person was rude. He said I already complained and given a 25% off, why I was still complaining. I complained for different thing, and it is really not functioning as it supposed to. And later I contacted Vodafone AU Help via twitter and been explained that works in Hurstville 2006 was still being carried on until 6-3-2012. And it is actually after 6-3-2012, it is way much better in Hurstville.

Today as per 12-3-2012, I had a very big frustration in Camperdown 2006. I cant receive any call, call dropping every 5 seconds, and losing signal constantly. I was expecting many important work related phone call. I contact Vodafone AU help via twitter and just been told there is network upgrade until end of March. Does it mean I have to hold my desperation for another 2 weeks? What is the point of having mobile phone if I hardly can make a phone call.
13 Mar 2012 06:59:34 AM: They promise me the same solution, but I get 2 months free instead of the 25% OFF.
But there's no point having a free phone but you can't use it.
New solution: Just go to TIO and report the issues, and port to Telstra you will not regret it.

ANOTHER DAY AT VODANOFONE NO COMMUMITY HEARTLESS AND BRAINLESS

I personally admire this Paramedic and his wife who has had the courage and fortitude to tell this Discraceful Unethical Company what is,and what is not.
The paramedic does this in the interests of Australians and their Medical Emergencies.
Well done Mr.Paramedic and his good wife,Mrs Nurse who care about prople.

The discraceful unethical and criminal Vodafone Network cares about how much it can steal from you.

I have said it before on this website."I would rather deal deal with the Mafia because you know the Mafia would Rob you DEAD!"

Very poor Network coverage.....an hour ago 11.3.2012 11.00am

Hi There,

I have moved from 3 to Vodafone in 2011 and have had nothing but trouble with my reception. We currently have 3 plans with Vodafone - my Wife, my Son and I. I am a Paramedic, my Wife is a Nurse on call.

I use my phone for work doing Hospital notifications and daily have trouble getting reception - for medical emergencies that is definately not good enough! My Wife uses her phone for work and cannot get reception at work and she gets voice mails without her phone even ringing. My Son uses his phone for letting us know where he is after school for sports and keeping us updated whether he is home safely - many days he cannot get a hold of us and we are unable to contact him. Not good enough!

When I moved from 3 to Vodafone I had tyo give my home address in order for them to ensure I have coverage at home. I was assured of coverage before I moved. This is not the case. When my phone rings at home I have to run outside halfway up the driveway other wise I cannot be heard. Not good enough!!

I have contacted Vodafone about this and was told upgrades are underway - my bill was reduced by 25% but I still feel very ripped off. I think 25% is not good enough as I get less than 75% coverage. I cant even sit in my own home and make phonecalls. The contact centre promised me upgrades are underway and by end of March 2012 all will be good. I am making a complaint to the COMMS umbudsman and will be asking for a full refund of all 3 contracts for my past 4 bills. If there is not improvement by 31/03/2012 I will return 3 phones to my nearest Vodafone store and going to Telstra.

Definately had enough!!

Hope this stops other users from joining Vodafone.

Ben
..
11 Mar 2012 12:54:08 PM: Move to Virgin or iiNet as fast as you can....I had 3 1/2 years of this crap from VF....
11 Mar 2012 10:41:14 PM: There is a 30 day network guarantee for customers to use if needed. If it really took you 30 days or more to realise your reception issues, than ok lol. Apart from this, if you have a handset that is not 850MHz capable like an iPhone 3G s, than new VF new network won't mean a thing to you, and no network provider has a responsibility to provide phones, just network service, so unless eligible to upgrade, invest in an up to date phone.
12 Mar 2012 10:22:28 AM: 2nd reply, go and look at the big gigantic holes in the guarantee,it is worth less than the paper it is written on.
12 Mar 2012 12:02:52 PM: Regulation 90 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 is there not to assist Vodacrims, but to assist Vodafone Victims.
The 30 day guarantee is so badly defined,EG(Must be initiated by Vodacrims Customer NO-Care @ 1300551198.They will never initiate it because they will say you did not call them, or they, you.
Those Vodacrims have already pulled that stunt and the number does not even show on your Call History, when they call you, on your phone.
(I personally caught them out already.)

Formal Complaint Regarding Rhodes Employee.....31 minutes ago 10.03.2012 500pm

I would like to lodge a formal complaint about an employee of yours named Jason who works at the Rhodes Vodafone “Select Dealer” stall.

On Thursday the 8th of March 2012 at approx. 11am I went to this Vodafone dealer in order to talk to a sales representative about replacing my phone. I’ve been having SERIOUS problems with a 2 week old Samsung Galaxy W. Since I first purchased the handset (as a replacement for a handset I already have on a contract) it consistently failed to send text messages. This was becoming extremely frustrating as the only way I was able to send a text message once it failed was to restart the entire handset. I was doing this about 15 times a day. And after having to go to two Vodafone stores in 4 days I was told to go back to the original store that I bought it from. It was here that I encountered Jason. After explaining and showing him what my phone was doing I was met with an inexplicable and inconceivable amount of arrogance, rudeness and disrespect from this so called “employee”.

Jason asked me if I had tried turning the phone off. I said yes, I had multiple times, as this was the only way for me to get it to resend my messages. Not even bothering to make eye contact with me he grabbed my phone and switched it off, turned it back on and resent a failed message. It sent. I explained that this often happens and it is the only way I can actually get it to send text messages once they’d failed. However I can’t constantly be turning my phone on and off every time I want to send a text message. Rather than listening to me, he kept asking me “so what’s the problem?”, refusing to understand that the very thing he had seen in front of him was an issue with the handset. I continued to explain that a 2 week old handset should not be consistently failing to send text messages and I wanted the problem fixed because it was becoming very annoying. Through speaking to other Vodafone representatives at Chatswood and the QVB it had become clear that the issue was not a network or sim problem, but rather a problem with the actual phone. Yet again he reiterated “So what’s the problem” and flatly refused, with an inconceivable tone of arrogance and antipathy that there was anything wrong with my handset and I should just learn to deal with it.

I was outraged by the way this young man treated me. As a Vodafone customer for over 3 years I have NEVER been treated this way by any other Vodafone employee or by an employee of any other company. The young man refused to give me his last name. I have spoken to his manager and was told to post a formal complaint here.

This young man is not only damaging the reputation of the Rhodes dealer store, but also the reputation of the entire Vodafone community. I am still outraged at the way that I was treated by this young man, treated in this way when I had done nothing wrong and was simply trying to rectify an extremely frustrating problem with a handset that this particular store had sold me. A handset that I had paid almost 300 dollars outright for. I was helped by a female employee later, who managed to understand the problems and my handset has now been sent to Victoria for it to be assessed and either repaired or replaced. Yet all of this was done in spite of the efforts of this man. Therefore I would like to notify you of the unsatisfactory way that I was treated in the hopes that the situation can be rectified and dealt with and hopefully not happen to another customer.

Has been 4 days now since three data network stopped working! I'm connected to the 3 network but when I open safari it just says that couldn't connect to data network!
I tried to speak with the assistance but as I have an italian simcard they can't help me! Does anyone have the same problem? do you know how to solve it?!
13 Mar 2012 01:13:18 PM: If you have an italian simcard- you must be roaming- simply change network- Go to your network settings and change from automatic to Manual and select either Tesltra or Optus- easy
14 Mar 2012 01:11:29 PM: No i have free internet connection just connecting to 3telstra as I have the offer "three like home", if I connect to other networks I'm going to pay sooooo much money! The 3telstra network is still not working though

AND YET, ANOTHER DAY AT VODANOFONE NO COMMUNITY

I CAN SEE WHY MILLIE AND CAITLIN VODAFONE STAFF ON DUTY AT THE MOMENT WON'T GO NEAR THIS ONE.

Moving from 3 to Vodafone, Horrible Service.....3 hours ago 10.03.2010

I was contacted by a Vodafone rep asking if i wanted to trial the Vodafone network, being a 3 customer i was told that the migration would be fast and simple. This was 3 weeks ago and i'm now left without a working SIM/coverage.

After receiving my Vodafone SIM i called the number to activate and was told to wait until my 3 SIM stopped working, after waiting 5 days with nothing changing i called up Vodafone customer service to see what was going on, after being told that my Port had been denied for some reason (thanks for letting my know by the way) they said they would manually port my number across.

Another week passes and still nothing, i decide to go into a Vodafone store this time to get answers, the Vodafone guy calls up and once again I'm told that porting has failed and that they'll try another way to port my number. This was on a Saturday so was told my Vodafone SIM would be up and running by the following Tuesday.

another week passes and on Friday (3 days after my Vodafone SIM was suppose to start working) my 3 service was cut off, I put in my Vodafone SIM in and still no service, i call once again to see what is happening and am told that my phone should be working by the end of the day. It has now been 2 days and now i am without a working service.

I shouldn't have to wait nearly a month for a process which is supposed to be 'easy and smooth'??!

Regret ever moving to Vodafone.

Hi, I have had a real bad week with Vodafone...

First off I moved last week and there is no reception at my new house. I have two accounts with you and just bought the new Iphone 4s and they are basically worthless to me now.

Then I went overseas and just recieved a text that I owe $1500 for a one day data charge even though I never use data when I am overseas and had it turned off in my phone and had asked for it not to be enabled when I got my second account.

I am looking now at owing probably over 3k to get out of my contract and get a mobile that works. I don't want to but it seems to me the only thing is just to walk away from everything. Not sure who this goes too but hoping just maybe I can get in touch with someone who can help - calling call center did nothing except cost me more money. <NAME REMOVED>

VODAFONE BIG PITCH
Sydney Morning Herald

Lucy Battersby
March 10, 2012

VODAFONE will launch a national advertising campaign this weekend to spruik its new network guarantee - an opportunity for customers to quit long-term contracts in the first month if unhappy with mobile coverage.

But it is also designed to encourage customers onto the new network built at the 850 megahertz frequency.

Vodafone hopes customers will be more willing to sign contracts if they know it is easy to leave, and says it will trust customers' own satisfaction with the network. The campaign has been running in South Australia and the ACT since September and so far ''few'' people have asked to leave contracts, according to Vodafone.

Advertisement: Story continues below Vodafone Hutchison Australia has spent $1 billion on its new mobile network since the 2009 merger of Vodafone with Hutchison Telecom. About $750 million was spent last year alone.

The company has lost 600,000 customers since mid-2010 after its network struggled to carry all the data demanded by smartphones and mobile broadband customers. The new guarantee is available to new and existing customers but only if they buy a new smartphone or modem through Vodafone.

WHAT THE!!!
$750 million dollars on 'public relations' NOTHING
'THE CAMPAIGN HAS BEEN RUNNING IN SOUTH AUSTRALIA AND THE ACT SINCE SEPTEMBER AND SO FAR ''few'' PEOPLE HAVE ASKED TO LEAVE CONTRACTS, ACCORDING TO VODAFONE.'

VODAFONE WILL BULLSH.T UNTIL IT IS BANKRUPT, OR IT'S EXECUTIVES ARE GOALED FOR CORPORATE FRAUD
WHY WOULD ANYONE WITH A BRAIN AND CAN BREATH OXYGEN WANT TO BUY A SMARTPHONE OR A MODEM FROM VODAFONE.
FIRST THEY WONT SUPPLY IT FOR SEVERAL MONTHS,CHARGE YOU WHILE YOU WAIT FOR THE EQUIPMENT TO ARRIVE FROM IT'S LOST PLACE,IT WILL BE UNSERVICABLE AND THE WILL STILL CHARGE YOU,THEN WHILE THEY STEAL YOUR MONEY,AND YOU CANCEL THE ACCOUNT,A VODAFONE CUSTOMER NO SERVICE PERSON FROM MUMBAI WILL LOSE YOUR CANCELATION ORDER AND YOU WILL GET CHARGED A BREAKING THE CONTRACT .

VODACRIMS NEVER STOP COMING UP WITH THESE THEIVING PLANS.

I thought vodafone was meant to of fixed their problems with the poor reception problems? I have an iPhone with a $49 plan, paying this much each month, i expect to have no issues. Yes i know vodafone is known for bad reception but i constantly get SOS ONLY up the top of my screen! Ive had the phone for around 3 months and when i first got it, no issues.. now i can't even access Facebook or the internet when I'm out and about. My messages take about 10 mineuts to come through and I'm sick of it. I have to stick with vodafone for my 2 year contract and I'm not going to put up with this. Im tired of it and its needs to be sorted out as soon as possible. Vodafone was meant to make their lines better, well frankly i think they've gotten worse. Get your act together Vodafone and sort it out.
15 Mar 2012 06:56:58 PM: r u sure its not due to the iphone phone having problems remember they said if you hold the sides reception cuts out.
and not the network. get a galaxy s 2 there way better.

21053 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Shocking internet connection at 8 Mar 2012 06:34:05 PM
Since January my Samsung Galaxy SII has intermittent internet. I mean it connects for say 30mins. The no internet for 5mins. Then back on again for 30secs. Then nothing for one hour. Totally unpredictable so it makes my internet basically unreliable and not worth bothering with. My phone useage is basically for internet!

I live in South Yarra and returned to Vodafone only because of their big advertising campaign to roll out a new network that would benefit South Yarra. Since that roll out my service has failed!!!

I complained in Jan and was told there was no problem. Asked to change some settings which I did to no avail. They asked me to try a different handset; I did that and the problem was not corrected. I called again and they explained there was a technical issue and that it would be fixed by 1st Feb.

On 2nd Feb my internet connectivity was worse than ever. I called back and discussed termination. I was told I could cancel and they would waive the termination fees. I waited as I was reluctant to go through the hassle of cancellation (getting a new provider/phone etc).

Through Feb the technical team called me to keep me updated (I consider that stupid as there is clearly a problem with my internet connectivity and no amount of updates will help that). In March they told me the problem was rectified. At that time I had just experienced a very frustrating few hours with no internet connectivity at all. I explained this but their consultant insisted that the problem was fixed.

I called back to discuss termination. They now deny there is a problem and want me to pay full termination charges.

I dont doubt that all telecom companies will do what they can to extract fees but I feel that they are playing dirty by denying the problem.

Hi Miss <<SURNAME REMOVED>>

I'm sorry to hear you want to leave Vodafone! I'd like to work with you to resolve any issues you're having with your service, so you can continue in your contract as a happy Vodafone customer! Are you able to post back with the details of the issues you're having, so I can help?

Just so you know, the cancellation fees for cancelling your service are the months left in your contract x your monthly access fee, plus any handset repayments you have. If I'm not able to resolve the issues you're having with your service, you're able to cancel your service by calling 1555, or 1300 650 410 - if you'd rather stay online, I can also cancel your service.

Once I know a little more about your issues, I will be able to help further.

Thanks,

Kirsty.

Got a Vodafone text advising call charging is going to 60 sec billing from 30 second billing for text and talk prepaid. How dare they basically increase the call rate while offering the worst network coverage, with the poorest quality. This company is a joke. I think its time to churn my family and friends to another carrier. This network is pathetic, I could not recommend anyone to join

A day in the real world of Vodafone. Burleigh Heads, Robina, Gold Coast Qld. Business customer with three mobile phones. First call, 7am, 15min call while mobile, 2 dropouts. 10am no network across two phones, with one on the 850mhz network, duration over 5min, over a 4 hour period. Received email 1:00pm from head office to ring a customer, normally receive sms as well, receive sms one hour later. 2pm receive call, other party can't hear me, call dropout. 3:30pm receive next call while driving, call dropouts 2 times. 4:00pm receive another call while still, another dropout. 6:00pm receive another call, call terminated due to voice quality. 6:30pm received old emails from an 18hr period, in one go.

At Home with Vodafones new stronger wifi2 850mhz Mobile broadband. Load time to load Google page 4min, tried to get on Vodafones website, to have a bitch with them, page wont load after 5 attempts.

So just what part of there investment are they using to improve the network, because, this sort of network problems happens across most of the Gold Coast. It even gets worst on a rainy day. LOL

21039 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Very slow data connection call drop off at 7 Mar 2012 03:28:34 PM
I regret two things, first moving to Vodafone secondly, getting a smartphone (HTC Desire HD) that is only supported on the 2100 network. I work out of home and rely on technology for business. I'm very upset & disappointed with the quality and reliability of the Vodafone tower close to where I live in Cherrybrook/Pennant Hills area. The phone keeps dropping off the network, sometimes 3 or 4 times within 10min and when I do manage to get connected I'm lucky if I get 0.03mbps data speeds. When comparing reliability and data speeds with neighbours on Telstra or even Optus it is simply embarrassing. Telstra was so much faster on their NextG & even more so on 4G. Consequentially I'm seriously considering adopting Telstra for all my future business telecommunication needs as my business expands. That includes the pending purchase of mobile internet for iPAD/Tablets/laptops and additional mobile phones. When I called Vodafone about my problem they just simply told be to set the phone to GSM 2G only which made no difference than was told I have faulty phone. HTC were fantastic but diplomatic helping me to resolve issue the but alias the phone was fine. Vodafone attitude was simply "You are getting a further discount so put up with it". To be fair to Vodafone, I don't have a problem when visiting places like Crows Nest, data speeds on the 2100 network is very good indeed and so is the reliability but I don't live or operate in Crows Nest. One short term solution I guess is for Vodafone to provide, swap or offer an HTC phone that supports both HSDPA 850 & 2100 until my contract is up for renewal October 2012 then I can re-evaluate the relationship to see if there is any significant improvements with the network and or customer service.

I just received a message from 3 (so vodafone) today saying that I was to call them immediately as I had used 4.7 GB worth of internet and had to immediately pay a fee of $1,200 dollars or face my contract being indefinately suspended. Freaking out I immediately checked my internet usage as I always used Wi-Fi at home and was always on 3 reception so no romaing data charges there. Found out I had actually used 2GB worth, which is within my contract, so am now immediately phoning voda tomorrow to get that bill cancelled and have my contract terminated. If they do not cancel the bill, I'm going straight to the TIO and sticking it up voda's *** cause they are nothing more than scabs whose bills do not match the information given to their customers!

Is past being angry at Vodafone, now i just piss myself laughing at their incompetence. I called just a while ago re another billing issue, got the usual spiel regarding entering my number/access code etc via the keypad..THEN i wait on hold for twenty minutes until someone from the subcontinent answers with "welcome to vodafone, my name is Wayne (Hmmm, Im not so sure....) can i start with your name please..

Me - 'My name is xxxx'..

'Wayne' - "Can you call back in four hours please, our system is down"...

Me - (giggling out loud at this stage) "Ok 'Wayne' I'll jump out of the sack at 2am shall I?"...

'Wayne' - "Thankyou for calling vodafone..goodbye"....needless to say, I am now looking for something very hard to ram my face into repeatedly....

I cannot believe how bad this company is, 9/10 times i call, their system is down or no-one is available to answer my question. They will lie, promise things they can't deliver just to get you off the phone..and I am stuck with them for another 18mths due to the fact that my issues relate to billing problems only and not service/coverage issues..

BID TO SCRAP MOBILE ROAMING CHARGES FAILS

A bid to scrap all mobile phone "roaming" charges by 2014 was
defeated today, as a war of words broke out between the European
Commission and Vodafone over a continued crackdown on the sector.

Compulsory maximum roaming rates were first imposed on mobile network operators nearly five years ago to tackle what the commission called the "roaming rip-off" - the operators were said to be making profits of more than 200% for mobile calls made while in another EU country, and 300% or 400% for calls received.

"There's no need for phone companies to have any roaming charges at all," said Labour's Peter Skinner.

Meanwhile, Ms Kroes rounded on Vodafone chief executive Vittorio Colao who yesterday called for a "moratorium on regulation" in the telecoms sector, warning that mobile phone companies would cut investment in networks unless the EU stopped imposing price cuts.

Ms Kroes responded in a statement saying: "Message to Vittorio and Vodafone: I call your bluff, and indeed do not respond well to threats.

"I take the side of the Vodafone customer."

In his speech yesterday at a Mobile World Congress, Mr Colao demanded: "Does Europe need employment or does Europe need rate cuts? We should stop having this continuous intervention on prices and let the industry reinvest the money."

21018 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is A NO BRAINER ,AND NO FONE at 5 Mar 2012 02:37:12 PM
HERE IS ONE FOR:

Recently I moved very near to the Gabba Cricket Ground in Brisbane.
Many times no towers every day (WITH RECEPTION)
On Sunday the 4th March Australia played Sri Lanka.
I thought I would do some investigating concerning VodaNofone reception.
(LACK OF IT)

Between 430am EST right through the day, there were no towers(area)all day on the Northern side of the cricket ground.Signal stuck on 5 bars ,and it did not move.(USUALLY SIGNAL STRENGTH MOVES)
On the Southern side side it showed the tower of (East Brisbane),stuck on 5 bars,(USUALLY SIGNAL STRENGTH MOVES)
On the West side no towers and stuck on 5 bars.(USUALLY SIGNAL STRENGTH MOVES)
I thought VodaNofone is hopeless again, even in their 'SMASH EM' Promotion.

Low and behold, not one VodaNofone TV ad until 630pm and YOU GUESSED IT VodaNofone TV ads by the bucketful, right through until 830pm EST with the camera focusing on the screens behind the batsman's end with VodaNofone plastered all over it.

Yep, you guessed it again, the East Brisbane tower appeared on the phone extactly 6.33pm EST display all the way through until 8.35pm EST when the TV ads finished and the tower disappeared totally with the bars stuck on 5 again.

VodaNofone can make their CRAP NETWORK work when they want to.
Only during High Profile Blitz advertising.
The rest of the time they spend their time RIPPING you off and STEALING your money.

(COMMENT REMOVED) because it worked PERFECTLY between 6.33pm and 8.35pm while the VodaNofone ads were on.
I would rather deal with the MAFIA than VodaNofone any day, because you know the Mafia is going to rob you dead!

(PS. for all cricket fans- the live TV is about 5 seconds delayed,I knew who was bowled out,or caught out before the TV did!)

Found out last week that 3's 2100MHz network that is shared with Telstra will stop working after 31 August 2012. Put that in your diaries! I look forward to pathetic customer service from that date onwards along with moving to a different provider.
5 Mar 2012 07:47:23 PM: haha what the hell does that have to do with anything.
you cant blame vodafone because it is a different carrier.
you cant blame 3 because it is telstra that is cancelling the agreement.
who are you complaining about?
5 Mar 2012 09:44:18 PM: Complaining about Vodafone taking over 3 and killing the 3 brand. Using logic: VF is now 3.
6 Mar 2012 08:26:56 PM: your logic sucks
and as i said, telstra is the one who chose not to renew the deal
24 Mar 2012 04:58:51 PM: Dear "logic sucks"

You must be a VF employee!!

20997 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Shit!!! at 2 Mar 2012 12:13:37 AM
The reception in Townsville is getting worse. If a company can be a major sponsor of motor sport teams, why can't they provide a phone network that works. In the last few months the reception has gotten to the point where I don't even bother using my phone as it disconnects calls and have to repeatedly ask the other person to repeated what they said. Sms take hours to be delivered to someone if at all. Customer support have told me that I can cancel my contract but I will have to pay for the calls I have used. Virgin mobile may have my business very shortly. I was wondering if my phone was faulty but my girlfriends phone is worse than mine and it was new 1 week ago, good to see I'm not the only one who thinks Vodafone needs to do less advertising and a lot more repairing before they lose all there customers!

How can you run a telecommunication company without providing 24/7 technical support. The network has been unavailable to some of us in th south west for over 8 hours, I cannot get a redirection made and get an answer from them on when I will get service back. Vodafone has lost me as a customer !

20992 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Vodafone knows just how horrible their service is at 29 Feb 2012 08:42:14 PM
All I want is to be able to make a phone call without any hassle, and I don't usually make a lot of calls anyway but the moment I do, it's a reminder of how stupid I am that I renewed my contract with Vodafone.

Slow internet, no decent reception, person on the other line can't hear you because it's a bad line... Surely this isn't what I signed up for. Total rip-off and customers should be able to cancel their contract without having to pay a cent if this network is providing nothing but headache.

20985 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is very bad service provider at 29 Feb 2012 10:27:41 AM
No mobile reception from home residence which is less than 25km form Sydney CBD. No reception while on holidays in North west Victoria (suburb - Yallambie. Roaming most of the time in Sydnney or completely no reception. Not acceptable, would rather change providers after 10 years with 3 / Orange and be loyal to someone else that can provide a service that I pay for.

20982 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Fingers crossed - Bankruptcy at 28 Feb 2012 07:32:59 PM
After no vodafone coverage due to "upgrades" and advice they would be no/variable service in Toowoomba for 3days in Janurary, I was released from my contract for no charge (around an hour on the phone, appeasement with a 25% bill reduction offered - nope).

Now they continue to hound me for contract cancellation fee. Every letter I have responded to. Have had no reply to my correspondence.

They are now at the threatening/abusive/lying stage. Not going to pay.

20981 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Above and beyond failure! at 28 Feb 2012 03:44:42 PM
My wife and I have Vodafone mobiles, mainly because I live and work away from home during the week and calling to say goodnight to the kids every night gets expensive. So, the idea of free Vodafone mobile to mobile was appealing. What a joke! Point Cook is one of Victoria's fastest growing suburbs yet in our home the phones (iPhone 4 and Samsung Galaxy SII) are pretty much useless. Too bad if we needed them in an emergency.
Anyway, in the first month of living away from home I exceeded my cap. Why? Because I had to call the landline and even then the phone reception in my work area (Mornington Penisular) is pretty hit and miss. So I go over on my cap. Pissed off. After speaking to a couple of people in a call centre who could barely understand me, I finally managed to get a $30 credit towards the extra $40 in calls. As a service upgrade is due in Point Cook in a few months I got a 25% increase in my call cap. Well so I thought. After a week or so I noticed that there was no change to my cap. Another call to a call centre person with poor English confirmed that Vodafone had taken 25% off my monthly fee of $29. How the hell this helps I am failing to see. I still can't call my wife on her mobile. I still have to call the landline and I am still chewing through my call cap. I've got about $18 to last me 13 days and I am away from home 11 of those days.
I signed a contract with the company to say that I'd stay with them for two years and pay them x dollars per month to keep my phone connected. Surely they are breaching this contract by not providing the phone service that they are charging me for. If I was in a remote locality then fair enough. But I am far from it. Last week I was in Canberra. Crap service. This week I'm in Sydney. Service not great and 3G is very intermittent. I believe that I should be able to walk away from the contract on the grounds stated above. Does anyone else agree?

Vodafone Boss Calls For Moratorium On Mobile Phone Regulation

On the eve of European vote to cut cost of using phone abroad, Vittorio Colao says move would cost jobs.

The chief executive of Vodafone, Vittorio Colao, has called for a "moratorium on regulation" in the telecoms industry, warning that unless Europe stops imposing price cuts, mobile companies will slash investment in networks.

"Regulators should stop cutting mobile termination rates, pushing down roaming prices, building funny auctions which are designed to extract more money from existing operators, and resisting industry consolidation," Colao said. "This is not a request for a moratorium on competition but a much stronger request for a moratorium on regulation.

"The reality is, we have a heaven scenario or a hell scenario," said Colao. "The hell scenario is every year we lose hundreds of millions to mobile termination rates and we reduce our investment. Investment means jobs not just in the telecoms sector, but in the media, entertainment and applications developer sectors."

TRANSLATION OF VODAFONE BOSS

1.Moratorium of regulation = Throw any laws that protect consumers out the window.
2.Regulators stop cutting mobile termination rates = I hate any government who protects it's people from me.
3.Pushing down roaming rates = The biggest ripoff in my arsenal of tricks.
4.Funny auctions = they have learnt my tricks, on extracting more money from my Dumb Vodafone Customers.
5.Resisting industry consolidation = Authorities stopping me buying out every Telco and becoming a Monopoly Ripp-off Teco with no laws or ethics.
6.Heaven scenario = I will steal as much as I can ,for as long as I can get away with it.
7.Hell scenario = We pay our way, and be good corporate responsible entities, fostering a good service, good network, for a fair price.

What Network Mr.Vodafone Boss? It is a trainwreck!
What jobs Mr. Vodafone Boss? You have sacked them already to save money!
When you talk about Heaven and Hell,Mr.Vodafone Boss, are you really saying
that you are GOD!!!
Gee,no wonder this Australian CEO is off the planet, his Vodafone Boss,Mr.GOD CEO of Vodafone World is DELUDED and full of Self Importance.
28 Feb 2012 01:34:11 PM: this seems a bit pessimistic and unrealistic. telcos are companies, they should have the right to stand up to governments if they believe that governments are going to impact their business feasibility

20976 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is No 3G during phne calls at 27 Feb 2012 03:06:47 PM
Not only do i have to put up with continuous phone call dropping out, but now, i have no 3G during a call (the rare occasions i can actually stay on the phone with someone for long enough). For about 12 moths now, it takes up to 10 times to establish a connection to make a call, and then once the call is made, ill be lucky if 1/3 phone calls does not drop off.

I have heard of others being offered free months to keep them happy, and when i have complained, i got the good old "the network in your area is being upgraded sir" line, which i am sick of. It has got to the point of now just waiting for my contract to finishing and jumping ship.

20975 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Can't use phone at all - no coverage at 27 Feb 2012 02:58:51 PM
We have been on Vodafone for at least 15 years with no major problems until last year. In about October, the phone started to have a lot of interference and I blamed the handset which was replaced in early December. Since then, we have realised that we can't understand anyone who rings because the voice is garbled. We live in Townsville, a city of approx 180,000 people so you would expect reasonable service. I can get reception if I drive 25 minutes and sit on the beach! Sound like a great idea but you can't do that 24 hours a day. When will they fix it? Who knows? Any ideas for a solution?
27 Feb 2012 04:47:07 PM: I feel your pain and as much as I like the beach it is unreasonable to travel there each day to make a phone call!

As far as your issue is concerned, have you approached VF to advise VF of the problem?

If you have and the position has not improved, then your next step is to take the matter to the TIO.

TIO contact details are found at the top of the page under the How To Complain tab.

Simple on line form takes a mere 5 minutes to complete, VF then have 10 working days to respond, the VF response may be an investigation into the network in Townsville with a set time period for improvement or other alternatives.

2 Mar 2012 12:28:02 AM: Mate, I also live in Townsville and for a major town we should at least be able to send a bloody txt. The call centre have told me I can cancel my contract because of the poor reception, all I have to do is pay for the calls I have used. Virgin mobile have same plans but with more call credit and data.

20974 Someone from SA thinks vodafone is No Reception Bars on Phone at 27 Feb 2012 02:26:27 PM
Watching reception on both my Nokia Phones in the Adelaide metro area, coverage bars disapear for about 20 seconds then jump back up to 5-7 full bars of coverage at different times on both phones.
It cant be a reception issue as the phones are on a desk and are not moved so must be a capacity issue on the network.
So hope it's fixed with the compleation of the Vodafone upgrade in 2013.
