Dear visitor,

Since its inception Vodafail.com has made a significant contribution towards raising awareness of the problems and issues faced by Vodafone customers.

Vodafone Australia customers have had the opportunity to voice their concerns, their fears and their troubles from every corner of Australia and beyond our borders. You have gathered the courage to stand up for your rights as consumers and to make your voice heard.

Each and every person who shared their story should have a sense of pride in this achievement and the changes that have occurred since the start of Vodafail.com.

More recently, traffic to Vodafail.com has declined significantly. Having achieved the goal of raising awareness and promoting concrete action in early 2011, we have now reached the point of closing Vodafail to new complaints. The site will remain online for as long as possible as a reminder and an example of what is possible when we share our experiences.

It has been a privilege to run this initiative and I'm am forever grateful for the help and support I've received. In particular I would like to thank Melissa, David and Travis for their continued efforts over the past 15 months. I'm also thankful and humbled by the support of ACCAN, Choice magazine and a wide range of media outlets, blogs and websites.

You can still browse existing stories and find out how to file a complaint if you are experiencing problems.

Until next time,

Adam Brimo

We have very little or no coverage at our home now, where we also have our vet clinic, which has 24 hour emergency care for our clients. Due to the fact that clients weren't able to get us, thanks to Vodafone, some animals had delayed medical help because of the lack of coverage of Vodafone. We had to buy Telstra phones for our Vets, more money we can't afford. Vodafone will only let us out of our plan if we pay over $5000, which we can't possibly do, even though they aren't providing us the promised service. Can't wait till we can leave them but that isn't till September 2011, help me! They seem to have got worse, originally they weren't to bad

I have had a poor reception issue on and off but is has been worse last few months. Initially I thought it is due to my old mobile phone which I got from the contract with Vodafone. I had a new mobile phone a week ago and the reception is even worse.

I had a bill twice the amount of my usual bill two months ago. I have not once gone over my cap, during the worst part of my drop out and data coverage failure is when I received the bill. I argued it and showed previous account records, could this be due to Vodafones issues that have now come to the surface?

I Have had messages pending in my outbox, that take ages to finally go through. Delayed voicemail messages as well as text messages arriving hours later than when they were sent.

Vodafone coverage in festivals is appalling. Every festival i go to i am certain to have NO coverage the whole time i am there whilst people on other networks (i.e 3) have full coverage.

4626 Someone from WA thinks vodafone is Fail +++++ at 27 Dec 2010 06:40:43 PM
Where do I begin??! Ok, been with Vodafone since July 2009 and I was on contract with an Iphone (older gen ones) for 24 months. Received really bad reception and finally decided to call Vodafone customer service (Oct 2010) to complain. Got told (by a very friendly lady I must say) that it was not Vodafone's services but the Iphone just has bad reception. Thing is, when I go to my mother's house the reception is fantastic, but as soon as I'm in my bedroom at home, I'll be lucky if I get one bar. But my partner who is with 3 gets perfect reception every time. Anyway I was basically told to change handsets, which would mean I would have to pay off the rest of my contract, which was about another $450 at the time. I said I wanted to change over to 3 to be on the same network as my partner because I wasn't happy with Vodafone's services, but was assured it was the Iphone causing the poor reception and I was convinced that Vodafone and 3 were to merge "very soon" and all would be the same soon anyway. I was told to consider the HTC phones as they were "top of the range" in smart phones and I would get the reception and services I needed. I hung up and considered my options. Went into a local Vodafone/3 store and told the sales person I wanted to cancel my contract with Vodafone and sign up with a new handset with 3. Again I got told by a young lady that I shouldn't bother because things are merging and 3 and Vodafone will all the the same "very soon", and it's more likely that my Iphone is causing the reception problems. So naively I believed the sales girl and canceled my contract and signed up to get another phone for another 24 months.. BIG MISTAKE! I got the HTC Legend and it is much worse than my Iphone!! I receive SMS's, calls and when I try to call Vodafone to complain and have to wait 30-45 mins to talk to someone, I get hung up on whilst waiting!! I have a newborn baby and don't have time to be sitting around waiting to talk to someone, nor do I have the time to go into a store and wait over an hour to talk to a sales person either! So basically I am stuck with a sh*t phone with no service and another 24 month contract at 49$ a month (not to mention the amount I have paid to Vodafone to cancel my previous contract with them!) I am at my wits end! I have also called recently to complain that I wasn't receiving any data services, fixed that problem but I am still not receiving reception. I am fed up. Really considering to not pay my next bill!

Lets orginise a protest against Vodafone for the first day of the Sydney cricket test, other cities and the rest of Sydney can blockade their offices and stores
this will bring more media coverage and hopefully make them do something to fix the problem
Lets remember they are spending millions on sponsorship and advertising to get more people to clog the network and VF bad vibe has rubbed off on the Australian cricket team
Can the web site set up a page for meeting points, numbers and signs etc
VF MUST GO DOWN

We have been with vodafone for years. We recently found no reception in docklands or at our home in hallam even though we are in full coverage. Voicemail constantly as phone never rings and takes 5 mins to load a simple internet banking login screen. Offered us new phones and contract but this has not solved the problem!!!!!

4608 Someone from WA thinks vodafone is SUPER FAIL !!! at 27 Dec 2010 06:36:13 PM
What mess haven't I been in ?!
Besides the consistent no service in my own house or major shopping centres, having NO reception has got me into trouble NUMEROUS times, a recent one of those times being stuck at a festival at Claremont Showgrounds (inner suburbs of Perth!) and losing my friends. I had no reception in the complex, nor outside the complex of 5km away in Cottesloe! Luckily a taxi drove past an hour later and picked me up (which I didn't want to do being a young female by myself .. but had no choice), meanwhile my friends thought I had been abducted due to my absense for a few hours.
The insurance is RIDICULOUS and I do NOT recommend anybody get their phone insured by Vodafone - it's a scam. The ONLY way you can get your phone fixed under insurance is if you dropped it in the toilet because it's too unhygienic to assess (the software was buggere din my phone - a legit reason to be insured I feel as it was nothing to do with the care I provded to the handset..). After 4 weeks to 'assess' my phone, I called them and the phone had apparently already been assessed and they hadn't contacted me. The new phone was meant to be in the mail in 10 days. 3 weeks later I called to see where my phone was - it was on 'backorder'. I changed the model from my preffered phone so I could recieve it earlier. 4 weeks later .. still no phone. I ended up having to go into Vodafone and PAYING $800 upfront out of my own pocket for my insurance in order to get my desired phone I had been without for a few months! Vodafone promised to reimburse my money within 10 days - it took 3 weeks ($800 is a lot for a student!).

I am hanging out for my contract to end so I can get out of this mumbo jumbo! They expect me to pay my bill and cut me off when I don't ... but I only have coverage 2-5 hours a day when it wants to work not when I need my phone - who wants to pay $90.00 a month for a service that doesn't provide? Vodafone Fail !!

29 Dec 2010 12:13:38 PM: If you rely on a piece of tech for your work and livelihood, wouldn't a normal person ensure they can get contacted with it? Either the work wasn't important or you didn't care. That it has happened before suggests you SHOULD be sacked for being so negligent. Can't see how this is a Vodafone issue. Cancel them and go with someone that can provide the service. Grow up, be responsible with your life, stop being a child. Man the fuck up baby. You'd make a great customer service rep at Vodafone

The data coverage even in major metro areas is appalling, and they try to make you purchase a Wifi booster to increase signal but it doesn't. Unless you live next to a 3G tower I wouldn't even try to use the web in your phone, especially IPhone. They usually work faster when you turn 3G off. All customer "care" is now in Mumbai, India where they sadly have trouble understanding our fast Aussie accents, especially when discussing technical problems. I have even been told by a network technician "we do not have coverage in a place called Brisbane"

Have been a Vodafone customer for approx 6 years and have never had a problem with them until the last 6 months, me and my wife have Iphone's and we are always getting No Service or only 1 bar of coverage, for the cost of the plans we are on we expect to get better, but at the moment are considering paying out the contracts to go elsewhere, but WHY should I????? Vodafone need to pull there act together, I have gone into a vodafone shop on various occasions only to be told to call customer service, then when I do call customer service I'm waiting for approx 40 mins before I get to speak to someone, I don't how long other people are waiting but when I'm working and I have to wait for more than 40 minutes, that's not very good Customer Service (my job suffers), when you finally get through to someone they aren't very helpful anyway, there is a language barrier.... VODAFONE PULL YOUR DAMN HEADS IN AND START GIVING US BETTER SERVICE..

4602 Someone from SA thinks vodafone is Merger with 3 at 27 Dec 2010 06:35:14 PM
I have had issues with my 3 contract since they merged with 3!! When hearing this on TV, thought might head to website and see if the trouble is the same. I have been with 3 for 3 years and very happy - no coverage issues at all, so I renewed after a 2 year contract. Then about sept last year the problems started - dropping out, no coverage, calls start and then can't hear anything. All this started just after they joined with vodaphone. I was told that the network would be much better and if having problems should switch my phone to manual roaming!!! This is fine before I have a call (although then charged at higher rates!!!), but if I am in a call.... Again overseas call centre that doesn't understand. Am considering returning to Telstra, which is against everything I think but living in the country I need to have a reliable carrier.I wonder if this is just a vodafail thing or both as I know other people with 3 who have had similar issues. Maybe there is something in common with both these carriers.

I just spent an hour and twenty minutes on the phone to vodafone, to make a complaint. After redirected to "different" departments twice, both of which could hardly understand english I got cut off!!!! Which is ironic considering the reason I called to complain is because every-phone call I make gets cut off. I do not receive calls. I do not receive text messages on time and can rarely send a text message without getting "sent failed" I am absolutely furious with vodafone. I have been with your network for approximately five years yet no loyalty or understanding is being showed to me. I pay a lot of money to get absolutely nothing. I am sending this because I am unable to speak to anyone on the phone despite being on hold. I expect to get some kind of compensation for this otherwise I will be withdrawing from vodafone as soon as I can as my contract is drawing to an end. I will also look into taking further action. I have lost a lot of business in the last few months because of vodafones pathetic, unreliable and unprofessional network.

Now that the 2 companies have merged our coverage is almost non existent and with over 6 months still to run it's bloody frustrating...even worse considering we operate 2 businesses and our mobiles are a necessary part of the day to day running of each business.

I purchased a HTC Desire HD on a 2 year $59 per month plan. Before I purchased the phone I checked both the Crazy Johns and Vodafone website to make sure I had coverage. According to both websites and the sales people at Crazy Johns, I was assured that I would have coverage at home/work. Once I go home (which is 10mins from the Crazy Johns store), I realised I had no Vodafone reception at my home address (Mornington Victoria). Teltra and Optus have 3 bars of signal strength. I tried returning the phone to the Crazy Johns store the next day, but they wouldn't take it back. Instead I was given Vodafones number to call. I have spent hours on the phone to Vodafone with no results. To their credit, Vodafone has unlocked the phone for me so I could put in a Telstra sim and have divereted all my calls to the new Telstra number. However the hole Crazy Johns/Vodafone service is a joke. I have no intent on paying any of Vodafone/Crazy Johns' bills.
27 Dec 2010 06:32:07 PM: Dont pay the bill, let them chase you and take you to court, you will win hands down as their terms and conditions state that you will have service in the areas marked. As a consumer, mention consumer affairs, that sound get them to take it back

Both myself and my partner signed up with Vodafone a few months ago now and we are unable to make calls within our own house. To make a call we have to walk outside with still varying levels of reception. Some days are better than others and we may be able to make a 30 second call from the kitchen on occasion! WOOPIE!

My reception hardly ever works and when it does the reception usually drops out and my calls fail or disconnect. everytime i try to get my account balance 'it is currently unavailable'. They charged me over a hundred dollars to drop my cap down and then failed to tell me that my new cap didnt cover my calls to my voicemail and charged me extra to ring anyone on a different service. calling customer service to change i was kept on hold for up to 2hrs only to have to call back AGAIN coz they had failed to do what they said they would do!

Vodafone are absolutely pathetic, when signing 3 phones up to vodafone we were advised we had maximum coverage in Pakenham vic, Rubbish there is barely anything, then to add salt to the wound they force you to go to email phone bills but every month for the past 6 months we have to go to a vodafone store because they just cant manage to send it!!! who do these people think they are i will be very keen to take up the class action and recoup the costs involved with using these liars!!!!!

I cant wait until my contract is up and I will definitely go elsewhere.

I bought a Vodafone USB 3G modem for use when on my frequent visits to Melbourne. Unfortunately it seems that the eastern suburbs of Melbourne are a no-coverage area for Vodafone. Just while accessing this site in the past 30 minutes I have had four dropouts.

I went overseas for 3 months but had to stay longer due to a family reason. Virgin quaranteed our numbers and refused to return them so I shopped for alternatives and bought one just mobile and a GRL sim card both Vodafone resellers. Loosing friends because of network failures is a terrible thing we had to go thru in the past 2 months. Data service is ok but in hindsight should have gone to Telstra in the first place. being a technician myself I know just how underpaid technical people are but the problem is truly global. French Orange technicians commit-ed mass suicides due to poor working conditions. Vodafone fix it or pay!!!

Where do I start???
1. Six hours without coverage
2. text messages coming through days (at least 4 days) after they were sent
3. calls dropping out
4. being unable to recharge either by the website or on my phone for 4 hours
5. slow data connection

All this within 2 weeks. Ridiculous Vodafone, total massive fail. I have been with them for 7 years and have always been happy but this last 3 months I have seen them really drop the ball. Such a pity cause I don't want to turn to other competitors especially not Telstra.

I have been with vodafone for years. However since they have taken over "3" there network coverage has become unbearable. I receive text or voice messages from my wife a day later, and everytime I am on the phone, the call drops out. I am so sick of it. An example is I will be on the phone and need to call back at least 3 time within 2 minutes, however if i ring with my work phone which is with Telstra I do not have a problem and can speak on the phone for ten minutes without a problem. FIX THE PROBLEM VODAFONE.

About a year and a half ago I moved from Brisbane to the Sunshine Coast. Maroochydore to be exact. After seeking an assurance from my local Vodaphone Salesperson that there was significant coverage at my new address, i decided to purchase their mobile internet prepaid service. It has now been seven months and painfully counting. Two or three weeks it will work without a glitch, then it will completly shut down for a couple of days. This has now been a common occurance on a monthly basis. After putting up with this for three months, I contacted Vodaphone to complain, only to be told you should'nt have moved out to the sticks. (Exact words)Funny how I live three streets from a Vodaphone store!)

4534 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Vodafone sucks at 27 Dec 2010 06:22:44 PM
I have been with Vodafone for 13 years, I've had a few good years here and there but most if that time I have had horrendous service. I know your probably thinking why stay ? But the problems seem to go away when my contract is up and they flash a free phone at you and promise you the world- I resign! Then I'm starting it all over again. I have calls drop out, phone turns off, can't send txts or mms and if I do the get recieved a few days later. My phone says it's turned off when people call me( I miss work because of it) it goes from full service to no service in 3 seconds while sitting in the same spot. Data coverage is terrible, but the worst has been that I had emergency surgery in august and when I came out, people were trying to call me to see how I was and couldn't get threw as it says it's off, it was so upsetting for my family cause they were worried. Also when I got home I was alone and my mum tried to ring and it said it was off again!! I was laying in bed crying alone cause I couldn't talk to anyone. I tried calling customer care as I lay there, I got a rude Indian that had no sympathy and cut me off! I've had 4 iPhones in 6 months period replaced Sim cards, constantly resetting my phone, upgraded software, you name it I've done it! Apple don't have a answer and ofcourse Vodafone don't either! Just 4 days ago I went to my local store to find out how much to cancel my contract, $1000!! 2 hours later I am no better off , told to upgrade software cause that's the issue but come back and they might give me an iPhone 4- how will that fix it??? Grrrrrrrrrrrft help

4533 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Pathetic at 27 Dec 2010 06:22:37 PM
I was on Vodafone Prepaid until recently. When I signed up in October 2008, the network was terrific. Could not complain one bit - plus it was far cheaper than Telstra! I had coverage where and when I needed it, and that's what mattered to me.

Well, In about August of 2010, things started going downhill. First it was calls being broken up. Then dropped calls. Then I couldn't send SMS's. Slowly, it got worse and worse. It got to a point I couldn't use the Internet anymore at all, 24/7. However, my phone (Nokia 3120c) always assured me I had 3 or 4 (of 4) bars...

One day it took 20 minutes for a very important text to arrive, meaning I was over half an hour late for an important appointment.

I tried contacting Vodafone (mainly through their Twitter account), but they were no help. They simply denied there were issues. I looked at people mentioning them - almost everyone was having similar issues. Hah!

That was the last straw for me. I was over Vodafone. I did the only thing I could, and I switched to Telstra (along with getting a Nokia 6120c). I've been incredibly happy with them so far - I have reception EVERYWHERE, almost always have 7 (of 7) bars, call quality is great, SMS's arrive within seconds of being sent, and I can actually use the web, too! If I've had questions, their terrific Twitter support has been able to help me out.
The best thing about it is that their equivalent Prepaid option (I was on 365 day recharge with Voda, now on Telstra Prepaid Long Life) is exactly equivalent value for money, which is great. Plus, with the recent introduction of cheaper data packs, I can even tether my phone. It's great!!

I'd encourage everyone who has issues with Vodafone to consider another provider, especially if you're on prepaid or, more recently, can get out of your contract free.

Good luck!

I do snake catching in my spare time and my clients do not appreciate not being able to get hold of me. If I am the only snake catcher avaiable in my area and I cannot be contacted due to Vodafones dreadful call centre in India and even worse customer service, and should my client get bitten - I will hold them totally responsible.

I have been told that my suburb is 'the best in Australia for coverage', I have been offered a free extra simm card with free call diversion for one month, what use is that when I cant get coverage or have the dropped calls?

I do not accept the apology or the patronising statement of how good coverage is, I do not appreciate the dreadful English/communication skills of their support staff, nor do I accept how long I have to wait to speak to someone and then be transferred 4 times or even cut off! I have contacted the TIO and Vodafone have not offered a resolution yet, when I said I would see them in court, someone with poor English said 'Very good Madam but your suburb is the best in Australia'.

So Vodafone, you had better pray that my clients can get hold of me in an emergency or I will talk like a budgie to every newspaper I can think of and I will do so very loudly. I want out of my contract and I want out now!

My husband has a Vodafone contract which he has been trying to cancel. He could not get through to the call centre so went in person to see them in person at Morley. They told him he needed to ring Vodafone up which he has tried to contact unsuccessfully since. His contract should have ceased about twelve months ago after completing two years with them. In the past year I have been using his old Vodafone phone and have been digusted with very poor intermittent reception and frequent drop outs. I used to think it was due to being in a shopping centre or traveling half an hour away but the same thing happens at home when I am sitting in my lounge room.It drops out and then back in and back out when I haven't moved at all and there is no reason why it should happen. Can anyone please tell us how we can finally withdraw from Vodafone? Much appreciate any help. Coral

I have been a vodafone customer for almost 5 years I joined up at the stage under the impression that 3G coverage on my old Sony k700 was only 6 months away. Finally when I upgraded 3 years later we got 3G coverage. Even at those stages I was always finding it hard to gain reception. I have previously owned an iPhone 3G and now with the the iPhone 4 still with the same reception issues.

Both myself and my father are both vodafone customers now and in a country twin with a population of over 15000 and 15 mins drive from
Wollongong the states 3rd largest city we both have limited to no reception when we are at our home.

Sadly I don't think this justifies the amount of money I have forked out over the years to remain "loyal"

My reception cuts in and out both at my work place and at home. Both places of which are located in the north and south side of Canberra. Phonecalls are always a challenge and my voice-mail messages take days to come to my visual voice-mail. Not to mention text and mms messages. I get them (MMS) at least 8-9 hours minimum after a friend tells me they have texted one. Its so pathetic and disappointing, I'm glad this website exists. What's more, how about Vodafone actually upgrades their towers like they always say over the phone?? How about they take some of their sponsorship dollars away from things like the cricket and focus more on their service.

I signed a 1 year contract in September this year. Ever since I had dropped calls, no reception, lost customers. They kept telling me they would have to check the reception with their own tests, then they said it was the sim card, they replaced the sim card, IT SEEMED WITH EVERY CALL THERE WAS A DIFFRENT EXCUSE AND A NEW DELAYING TACTIC, EVENTUALLY after many hours on hold and many calls and threats to take them to Consumer Affairs for false advertising (telling me I would have reception in my area) and charge them for my lost business, they AGREED to let me out of my contract at no charge. They gave me a cancellation number and I went straight away to Optus, I haven't had a problem since, EXCEPT I am still waiting for the return bag to send their phone back!! I have phoned again 3 times. So the saga isn't finished yet....
My advice is, keep calling! Ask for Cancellations department! Demand they let you out of your contract and threaten them with Consumer Affairs etc. And Don't give up, !!!

Dear Sir/Madam,

I have been trying to call the 1555 number to no avail. 'Lara' keeps telling me she'll be with me in a moment that never arrives even after 25 minutes.

I am currently paying $129 a month to yourselves for calls, sms's and surfing the web. Neither of which works adequately as the coverage is intermittent at home (st leonards) and work (Sydney CBD). Calls drop out, SMS's never arrive or arrive late or in the wrong order and the 3G is either slow or unavailable.

Please advise why should I keep paying $129 a month for poor technology and customer service?

Name and mobile number below. Been a voda customer for over 5 years now.

The drop out of calls has reduced significantly but still frustratingly occurs from time to time.

My major annoyance with Vodafone is my 3G network and data coverage. I more often than not receive the Edge network or a constant switch of one bar on 3g straight down to the Edge network. What is the point of paying for something that I hardly receive.

The constant drop out to No Service and the need to switch off my phone is something no customer should be paying for, afterall I must be missing out on calls while my phone is searching for coverage.

I've had a great time with Vodafone UK for many years. I also found Vodacom in South Africa great service. SO I chose Vodafone for Australia.

I noticed the reception was always worse than the other networks. 5 years ago suddenly on my bill several SMS and MMS messages appeared that I was billed for 4-5 times repeatedly even though I only sent them once. Instead of a usual bill of $30.00 my bill was $150.00. Despite several attempts to resolve this issue no effort was made to return the money. Needless to say I ceased my association then.

1 year ago a friend of mine from Wales (UK) was living in Cairns, and was on Vodafone. He was perpetually uncontactable due to being out of range. Even at Tourist attractions such as Cervantes there was no reception at all.

No, no more Vodafone Australia for me...

3G network doesn't work, and I have to switch my phone off and on every time i want to send a text message. Incoming calls or texts are also a huge problem.
I know it's not my phone acting up because if I'm a suburb away, I'll get full reception.

4489 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Unbelievable at 27 Dec 2010 06:14:46 PM
I have been a Vodafone customer for over 10yrs and have never experienced such apauling service like this from them.

After finally getting through to someone in the network technician area, the standard trouble shooting they always do for initial network issues was presented to me (things I have already done a few times myself a few times with no success).

Like:
for iphone4 - turn wifi off (as it supposedly interferes with settings on the phone with the network... what a joke if their networkrk is that sensitive with a product and features they strongly promot for sale.
- So into settings, general and select reset and pick network to reset the network. If this doesn't work then try resetting to factory settings (which they assure won't delete any data on your phone).
- The 1st level tech also suggested I contact Apple to see if their booster cover is still available FREE if not try and get it as it's suppose to boost network signal... if this is well known, why doesn't it get supplied with the product in the first place, especially if it is a known issue with the product? Couldn't answer that one.
- if none of that works then call them back and they will escalate the logged issue to the next level of tech support... great... another 2-3 hr call wait before talking to someone.

The other phone having exactly the same problem but is a Nokia... do the following:
- take battery out, whipe the sim contacts with a soft cloth and put back together
- set the nokia network settings to manual mode and manually select vodafone au

No call me lame or a bit slow, but if two different phones are having the exact same network issues no matter where they are used (eg, home network area, city metro areas etc), wouldn't you think that it is automatically something more than just a basic handset or sim issue? I mean I am no telco teckie but I have some common sense and the above just seems a waste of time to me, and a way to fob the consumer off again without any real satisfaction of restored service or compensation for the lack of!

Needless to say none of this worked for me.... Who'd have thought!
29 Dec 2010 12:04:20 PM: Ok. You are lame and a bit slo.

i live in surry hills where reception is ok. On my train to work (taking into consideration tunnels) from central to epping via newcastle line i get ZERO 3g. I get 1 bar of REGULAR reception (2g) at my desk IF I'M LUCKY. I pay $130 on my cap for 1k calls 500mb per month which is fine IF I HAD A SERVICE GOOD ENOUGH TO USE EVEN HALF OF THAT QUOTA. I use my phone for work, so have had to buy a PREPAID TELSTRA phone to use while i'm at my desk. Works better in more places take it from me. The real insult was when i finally got on the phone to someone in bangalore, i was told they wouldn't release me from my contract, and that i'd need to have a technician come out and survey the area to confirm the condition. Great i thought, that's a nice offer. Thank you i'll take it "the wait is 4 months" *CLICK* GGF Vodafone, your service is garbage, as is your customer service. I speak to your employees and even they agree with me your service is garbage. 4485 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is 'bout 1,000,000 at 27 Dec 2010 06:14:09 PM
Vodafone are restricting calls AND texts from users of other networks. My own mother cannot contact me, save for my home number.

I also have experienced slow data transfer rates and delayed voicemails. This is coupled with the poor performance of the iPhone 4 (I'm currently on my SECOND) which they did knew of but didn't pass this info onto me before purchase.

Have joined class action.

4483 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Intermittent reception at 27 Dec 2010 06:14:06 PM
Visited Blackburn Victoria recently, no reception. Went to Vodafone shop, they changed my SIM but no help. I live at Buderim in Qld, no reception in King Street, one of the main streets. Reception is sketchy to say the least.

Line dropouts. Bad Reception, Delays in receiving sms, at first I thought this problem was my phone so therefore kept turning it off then on after a short wait to receive texts some which were days old.
To find out after hearing complaints from friends regarding the same issues.
As a long term customer of Vodaphone I find this service is no longer what it used to be and needs to be rectfied before more people move on elsewhere.

We are very disgruntled and unsatisfied customers and we have been ever since signing a contract with vodafone 18months ago. Our bills are increasing each month due to the call drop outs before the call even takes place, yet we are charged 68c for the dropped out call. When people call either of our numbers they can never get through as their is no service and we receive our missed call notification all hours of the morning. I did not sign up for this lack of service or reception. We can easily get better service, reception, phones via other telcos. We recently rang vodafone to the complaints department and got hung up on 6 times when the call was finally answered after a 20minute wait each time. the call back service was just as bad because when we answered the call also dropped out. This is not good enough. We want to cancel our contract so we can get a provider that actually gives back service and it's going to cost us $280 each person to leave the contract or $280 to upgrade. WE will not be continuing our contract with vodafone again and would not recommend your service provider to any family or friends. Very very disappointing. They are they worst provider we have ever signed up with.

Samsung Galaxy S - I have been lucky where calls dont drop but i have trouble ending the call. It thinks its still in a call when i hang up and freezes the phone sometimes to the point where i need to remove the battery, so i guess im still getting charged for the call im not even having anymore. In store Vodafail there might as well be a touch screen that blue screens on repeat because the pissed off mimimum staff that are can never get around to talking to you, hire more people you faggs its not like you cant afford to or is it because your almost at breaking point with the customers already using your network so your slowing down sales for a while the nerds freak out in the server room. How can the CEO not know in his gay apology, i bet if i worked there and fucked vodafail up he wouldnt be lost for words while he swings his johnson at me with a string of corporate adjectives that he is not fantastic moving forward and absolutely pumped because we have such a great team....gay ---Please David Thorne be on Vodafail only you can tell this story in the way we are all thinking anyway
27 Dec 2010 08:19:10 PM: I get the freeze problem on my iPhone 3GS from time to time that I cannot end the call by pressing the red rectangular button.

Mobile broadband runs at a snails pace. Phone drop outs. Network busy when friends are not on phone and phone is on with good reception. Cant use my phone every couple of months when on holidays in central Qld, not even text mesages. not to mention the customer service how do you get help when you cant understand a word they say and they cant understand you?
28 Dec 2010 12:31:45 AM: I;m an Idependent ACN Representative,I understand how everyone are totally dissatisfied with the Vodaphone phone, internet and customer service qualities. Our ACN customer services are incredible. You can reach them less than 10 mins pratically everytime. They are fast and effiecient and never transfer your call unlike Telstra or Optus as I heard, If you want to know more about us, contact me in my email at cengiz@acnrep.com I loves to turn UNHAPPY customer to HAPPY customer.
28 Dec 2010 06:19:57 PM: Independant ACN Rep........ GO AWAY!!!

4474 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is VERY DISAPPOINTING at 27 Dec 2010 06:13:08 PM
I bought Vodafone mobile broadband a few months ago after checking on the web for coverage, It showed as excellant coverage in my area, even asking the staff instore and they said the same thing, as soon as I got it home it wouldnt work properly, it drops out or just hangs, and the times when it does want to work, if I try leaning forward to type it will cut out on me. After weeks of calling some call centre where I cant even understand what they are trying to say, I got the gist from them that Im in a bad area. My husband is on 3 network and works perfectly. Looks like I will be joining him soon but if they are merging with Vodafone I might have to look elsewhere.

I always have one or two bars of reception, i have never had full reception ever since joining on vodafone a few months ago. my phone calls drop out constantly. i have tried contacting them through their customer service line, had no luck, they told me they could not access my information (billing) untill a certain date, they then promised they would call me on a specific date and time. That day i checked on 'My Vodafone' and I found out i could access the information that they claimed they could not get. On top of that they never called back on the day and time they said they would. On top of all that mess, when i got my phone bill the next month, they told me i owed $165 that is overdue, for some unknown reason, since i am on a $79 UNLIMITED plan. When i called to ask where this $165 fee came from, they could not explain it and told me they had to speak to their manager and they would call me back. It has been 2 weeks since that happened and they still have not called me back. Not happy at all, If i knew this was the service you get with Vodafone i would of gone with another company.
27 Dec 2010 10:12:35 PM: Try going into a store. Generally speaking, the staff there can actually convey your bill to you in english.

4465 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Complete and utter failure at 27 Dec 2010 06:10:11 PM
I run a business and we have 16 mobiles in a group plan with vodafone. I have never before experienced service such as this. We are in a technologically advanced country and the service provided by Vodafone is third world standard. In-fact I have no doubt I could get better service in Africa than the rubbish dished out by Vodafone.

Constant drop outs, terrible (close to zero) data coverage and not to forget the loss of business my company has suffered. I recently had an operation and was resting at home for 2 weeks. I had absolutely NO internet access through my Vodafone data card OR my phone simply to read my emails. What a disgusting service. The best thing is, their response was "we dont guarantee 100% coverage". What a SHAM. How about ZERO coverage !

They should be absolutely disgusted with themselves and the shonky service they provide.

4463 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Ultra Fail at 27 Dec 2010 06:09:50 PM
This company is the worst Telco I encountered in the 40 years of my life!!! I actually thought Hutchison 3 is the worst but no - Vodafail took this notoriety from them.
About a month ago at the advise of a 3 customer support agent, I moved my 4 postpaid accounts to VF. I agreed since the 3 reception from where I live has gone from bad to worse! There is practically no signal in most areas in our house. Probably the biggest mistake of my life:
- Hours waiting to be answered by a CSR
- Unbelievably high call volumes even early in the morning and at midnight!!!
- Call dropping out (or intentionally being dropped off) a second after you hear a CSR's voice
- Being transferred to the wrong group although you clearly explained who you wanted to talk to
- Arrogant CSRs (I understand why this is so)
- 12 month half price not being honoured as reflected in my first bill
- Being neglected by AU staff regarding my phone orders. They won't action on any of you requests unless you call them daily and get mad at them over the phone for their failures.
- Not able to make calls or even send SMSes to family members who are all with VF. This is the most unacceptable thing for me. The 2 most basic functions you want on a mobile phone and you can't even use them.
27 Dec 2010 06:16:45 PM: BTW do not make the mistake of agreeing to have someone call you back. Nota gonna happen!!!
27 Dec 2010 07:15:48 PM: Food for thought, since June 09 Vodafone Australia has been legally owned by a Hutchison company

4460 Someone from SA thinks vodafone is rotten reception at 27 Dec 2010 06:09:10 PM
i changed from 3 to Vodafone because the guy in the shop showed me the coverage for my area and it "was the best available anywhere" ... swapped the 2 teenagers and my service over. I was told to just ring vodafone to unlock the 2 x 3 phones... easy!
dropped sim off to cross teenager... tried to ring and unlock phones... 30 minutes and 3 calls later... and I was still talking to a robot who kept hanging up on me... I get home to my house - no service whatsoever! like NONE! had to drive 3 minutes down the road to get any service :( hopeless!
went back to the vodafone shop in the morning... um sorry but we cant change you back the same way... the shop sent an email to customer service and needed to wait for them to do something!!!! how cross was I? 2 days before christmas... not able to have our own numbers, not able to have 3 service... unbelievable... surely swapping from 1 to the other should be just as easy.... luckily wonderful shop assistant managed to fix problem.. her regional manager was there and they had to delete my service ... give me usim's and change numbers over...

4457 Someone from WA thinks vodafone is Painful!! at 27 Dec 2010 06:08:47 PM
Today I went to the movies at Innaloo and because the ticket queues were long I decided to buy tickets online. After about 5 mins of waiting for the ticket website to load (thanks to VodaFail) my friend who is on another mobile network got her phone out and bought the tickets within 30 seconds ... Thanks VodaFail.
