Dear visitor,

Since its inception Vodafail.com has made a significant contribution towards raising awareness of the problems and issues faced by Vodafone customers.

Vodafone Australia customers have had the opportunity to voice their concerns, their fears and their troubles from every corner of Australia and beyond our borders. You have gathered the courage to stand up for your rights as consumers and to make your voice heard.

Each and every person who shared their story should have a sense of pride in this achievement and the changes that have occurred since the start of Vodafail.com.

More recently, traffic to Vodafail.com has declined significantly. Having achieved the goal of raising awareness and promoting concrete action in early 2011, we have now reached the point of closing Vodafail to new complaints. The site will remain online for as long as possible as a reminder and an example of what is possible when we share our experiences.

It has been a privilege to run this initiative and I'm am forever grateful for the help and support I've received. In particular I would like to thank Melissa, David and Travis for their continued efforts over the past 15 months. I'm also thankful and humbled by the support of ACCAN, Choice magazine and a wide range of media outlets, blogs and websites.

You can still browse existing stories and find out how to file a complaint if you are experiencing problems.

Until next time,

Adam Brimo

7204 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is vodafone SUCKS at 28 Dec 2010 05:52:37 PM
cannot send any emails from my iphone. cant get reception on merrimac and worongary which are standard full coverage ares on every other company. Calls wont even connect half the time. This is a phone I use for emails ALWAYS. I can't even send emails. So far vodafone has goven me a $20 credit. THATS IT! I will never use Vodafone again. Terrible reception, useless service at least 30 - 45 minutes on hold every time, just to be told that their 'server' is down and has been down now for at least two months. I am stuck in a contract and want to get out of it and join a company that works. I send MMS to people that, if they are lucky, get it within 1 or 2 days, and they are also with vodafone!
28 Dec 2010 05:58:30 PM: Also, internet is SO SLOW if it works at all. 3G is a joke. People try to call me, phone is on, and goes to msg bank.... which takes days to get.

recharging prepaid from phone fails regularly. logging onto the website takes too long and recharge from there usually fails also. Reception is poor. Only good thing is the 365 plan they offer which is good for pensioners. (me)

I have been with Voda for over 10 years and actually started with them in I think their first year. Over the last two years my service has been very bad. But over the last 10 months it has nearly became nil in valid. they said they would send someone out to test the service in my area but never showed. Over christmas my friends and family recieved messages over 6 times each when I had only sent them once. I have had enough of sitting on hold or talking to Lara the computer every time I have a problem! The last time was over 1 hour waiting. I hope this some how helps our cause. Well done!

I have been a Vodafone customer for many years. Last December I signed up for a 2 year contract for mobile broadband as I was moving houses & didn't want to pay the $200 transfer fee for my then current cable internet provider. After installing the device I immediately began having problems with connection, speed, drop outs and unable to connect. The plan was for $20/month for the first 6 months & $40/month for the balance of the contract & thereafter. After at least 100 hours on my mobile to vodafone's 1555 I still had no resolve, except to be told that the USB device appeared to be faulty USB device. A replacement was sent & still had the same problems. At least another 200 hours of calls to vodafone I some how managed to speak to an Aussie woman who was extremely sympathetic to my problems who said that I didn't need to have to go through with all this which also included an account for over $200 of excess usage. She then credited my account with the excessive usage amount plus lowered the monthly charges to $20/month for the balance of the contract & thereafter. This didn't alleviate the problems that I was enduring, however it eased the financial pain. Next my email bills failed to arrive although I had received texts to say that they had been sent. The straw that broke the camel's back came when all vodafone services in my area went down for 3 days, for the 4 vodafone phones & internet in my household. After getting out of my immediate are I managed to connect to 1555 where I was kept on hold for almost 3 hours whilst "lara" kept on telling me to "hold on, we'll be with you shortly" which was announced every few minutes much to the annoyance of my bus passengers as the phone was on bluetooth. The woman I finally spoke to was as ignorant as most of the call centre people seem to be and blamed the problems on either my phone or my computer.
When I demanded to be put through to someone in Australia the response was that there was no-one in Aust. to speak to as everyone was in Mumbai India. My latest problems now is that I still do not have 3G coverage although the drop outs etc., are far & few between, but the coverage goes from 3G to HSDPA to GPRS and finally at times to Edge which is as good as not having a connection at all. I have been promised monthly credits which haven't come through. After so many months of pain, agony, frustration and anger my email bilss have finally arrived with the message..."congratulations, your first email bill is attached". Get your bloody act together Vodafone and give us real people in Australia we can speak to and know what they are talking about. I'd go back to cable even at a higher price, but sadly it's not available in my area through satellite.

7147 Someone from SA thinks vodafone is totally at 28 Dec 2010 05:41:58 PM
After checking that access would be available at Port Elliot in SA, I spent $89 on a mobile internet usb stick in Jan 2010, especially to provide Internet access while holidaying at Port Elliot in early Feb. I didn't need mobile Internet access at home - just while on holday. The thing never worked for more than a few minutes at a time, then eventually didn't work at all. What a waste. We didn't have the opportunity to use anything like the download limit. In all the calls I made to Vodafone trying to get access I was never offered a refund. In fact I received a letter or email reminding me to recharge to preserve my unused credit - no acknowledgement of the total failure to provide the service I had been promised. I had chosen Vodafone as I was a former satisfied mobile phone customer but after this experience I will never use or recommend Vodafone to anyone again. Don't tell us access is available in a location if it isn't! And offer to refund the cost!

This is a copy of a recent complaint sent to Vodafone: This is not so much a question as a complaint, however seeing as the on-hold time on Vodafone for my husband last time we called was 1 hour I have opted not to call. By the way, if I hear that Vodafone apologise for the wait and will be with me 'really soon' (stop lying to me 'Lara') I will literally throw my phone across the road (that's right, we have to walk up the road to make a phonecall, even though we live in Eastwood; the middle of Sydney!).
Basically I am completely sick & tired of the fact that I simply cannot make a phonecall from my mobile while at home, nor can I use my Vodafone internet. This means that I cannot call anyone, cannot contact my husband or my mother or numerous friends who are also on Vodafone (and also SICK to death of the bad network coverage in Sydney CBD). To compound the problem, whenever I try to call vodafone to complain, (which is rare, as I rarely have enough coverage to do so) I am put on hold for an immeasurable ammount of time.
Thankyou Vodafone for living up to your new nick-name of VodaFAIL & completely failing me & my friends & family.

I have a problem with their mobile broadband service. It's rubbish, with slow service at the best of times and no service at all at the worst of times. I live in metropolitan Brisbane which shouldn't be a tricky place for a decent services. I am quitting after my contract is up in June 2011. When contacting their customer service, I am on hold for ages and get non English speaking staff who don't care and say there is no problem. It's not good enough.

Here is an email I sent to Vodafone only a few minutes ago after being on hold for over 35mins.

Hi,

I've been a Vodafone user for over 15 years and have not have many problems until the past few months. The problems I'm experiencing is as follows:

Dropped calls
SMS takes 24 hours or more to send and receive
MMS messages not receive to I send them to
Mobile internet very slow and drops out
Visual Voice-mail on my iPhone 4, receives messages hours and sometimes days after the message has been left

All these above problems happen when I have what appears to be full signal strength.

I am paying for a service I believe that Vodafone is not supplying.
Also it is very difficult to get through to any customer service staff.
Does Vodafone think that its customers have hours to sit and wait on hold?

I will be reconsidering my service with Vodafone over the next few months and I may recommend to my Family, Friends and Work mates to avoid Vodafone if the want to receive a quality service.

Vodafone should stop sponsoring the Cricket and invest money in its network

I hope to get a reply from this email. But as with the mobile service I doubt it.

Thanks

7088 Someone from SA thinks vodafone is HORRIBLE at 28 Dec 2010 05:25:11 PM
I randomly lost credit and was charged to send FREE texts. I was also told I had free Facebook and Twitter on my phone, yet I was charged when I went on Facebook and Twitter. I tried to take matters into my own hands and call 1555 to speak to an operator, I was on hold for an hour and a half the first time and fours hours the next time that I tried on a different day. I sent them a complaint email, and to their credit, they replied in 2 days but it still does not erase the fact that they put me on hold for six and half hours total. IN the email reply they stated, "Vodafone regrets any inconvenience you have experienced due to the delays you have encountered. Vodafone are attempting to address the longer queues by investigating our current rosters, we are also currently training new staff that shall be available to take calls in the near future." Please train people faster and so they actually know what they are doing.
When I tried calling previously to ask a question about my faulty phone, I was put on hold for a lengthy amount of time and was then forwarded somewhere that was of no help.
I also had no coverage for half of Christmas day.
I am sick of talking to 'Lara' and I want REAL customer service, or I'm moving companies. Sorry Vodafone, I've been with you for at least 5 years and now you've completely lost the plot. Hmm.. What company should I choose? Optus? Telstra??

I run a small security firm, I signed a contract at All Phones placing a condition on the contract: Subject to coverage Deer Park-Rockbank.
After failing to send bills for three months in the business name, as appearing on the contract, I attempted to resolve and discuss the issue at times faxing them the lost contract (weekly). I refused to pay the Bill until it was changed into the contracted-business name which still has not happened. They tried defaulting my credit rating and the Credit Agency on contacting them removed the Default within weeks of being provided with all documents. Service and coverage is so much worse than the Largest Telco whom we all hate due to same lack of customer service and time placed on hold to fix issues!

7078 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is to the extreme! at 28 Dec 2010 05:23:11 PM
I don't get any coverage in my office building in Pyrmont (unless I walk to one of the windows and hold my phone a certain way while standing on one foot!). I have been receiving voicemail messages days after they have been left. All up, I have wasted at least 6 hours of my life on hold and with these jokers and after finally getting through I was told they couldn't process my cancellation as they would need to open an investigation. The investigation took another 2 weeks and didn't improve my service so I called again to cancel but got my bestie (Lara) instead. She asked for the reason for my call and then told me the wait was more than 30mins so I decided to take her up on her kind offer of returning my call as she assured me I would not lose my place in the queue... I left my message at 5:55pm on 22/12/10 and they were nice enough to call me back at 12:10am on 23/12/10. But not before having a recorded message telling me someone would be able to assist in MY CALL in a moment!?! FAIL!!!
When someone finally got on the line, they told me their cancellation dept was closed and I would need to call them back...I then may have become a little frustrated and yelled...I mean asked whether they knew what time it was in Australia? ..They didn't but when I told them, they thoughtfully explained "at least you will be able to sleep well after this call"????? WTF????
Suffice to say, I am now with Telstra...Vodafone can chase me for once...

28 Dec 2010 05:43:27 PM: * Standard repair time is 7-10 working days. We OFTEN receive handsets back from repair within this time period. If not, then the handset has been dispatched forward to the manufacturer as parts needed to be ordered. This can't be helped. If the repair centre does not have the necessary parts to repair your handset, then the order and receipt of them will take extra time. The staff member you were served by should have told you that.
*Loan iphone... lol... whichever store you went to.. i wouldn't go back.
*As for your bill, often the bills are generated before a credit is applied. If you know the amount for which you were credited then all you need to pay is $106 - that amount. If you have been credited the full amount, then you will not need to pay anything. Head into a store (a different one.. lol) and get them to check your account. There will be notes on the account informing of the applied credit if you feel you need to confirm this.

I have been trying to upgrade My phone and Vodafone have been out of stock of the phone I want. Iphone4. I am currently using another phone and the battery life dies after only a few hours. As I am a Supervisor for an airline I NEED to have reliable phone. I have been waiting for an upgrade IPHONE 4 for months, going into stores all over Sydney to be told they are always out of stock. I was told last week they are no longer doing upgrades in store but through customer care. I ordered the phone 2 weeks ago. I bit the bullet and ordered a new contract 2 days ago. with my partner also needing a phone I bought a new phone for myself and expect to give the upgrade which is ordered to my partner. I tried to port the number yesterday at the store (EASTGARDENS NSW) and they told me this had to be done with customer care. I rang yesterday afternoon around 4, and was initially told this was not possible and to go back to the store. I was also told that my old SIM number for XXXXXXXXXX could not be ported to the NEW SIM (MICROSIM) as they could not do this why the account was in upgrade and waiting for the new IPHONE. I spent approx 4 hours yesterday being transferred between the activation team, customer care and accounts DEPT.

I was promised a call back today to resolve this. I had not received a call back by 1pm (28/12/10) so I rang Vodafone. Again I was transferred between depts, after a few hours spoke to a gentleman who told me to break the silicon of the old sim card, and just insert the chip into the IPHONE4 and this would allow me to at least use the old phone. I did this and it worked.

I also tried to PORT my partners number to my old account (with his number and also a vodafone account. which I was told was done. This is yet to be done.

I am currenytly on hold to customer care, and been waiting 2 hours on hold. Which I find totally unacceptable. Then to be told the porting dept is closed. And HUNG UP ON WTF.

I want to return the phone I purchased yesterday, cancel the upgrade and port the numbers to TELSTRA. I cannot and WILL not accept that I have to continually ring vodafone to fix this issue, as explained I work for an airline as does my partner and we are away from home and under work requirements need access to a reliable service using a reliable handset. We are both on $79+ plans.

7048 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is just not cricket despite the sponsorship at 28 Dec 2010 05:17:29 PM
Had a BlackBerry 9700 (contact signed in May 2010) that was having constant dropouts from day one. Had the phone swapped, repaired etc. without success. The Vodafone store I bought the phone at were helpful, however it was Vodafone themselves that have dropped the ball.

I have had situations were I have missed calls during a period where I was seeking employment, was trying to sell my car and when my wife locked herself out of the house. I was receiving constant SMS voicemail alerts for calls I know I didn't receive and was unable to make calls even while I (apparently) had 5 bars of 3G service. Changed the mobile options to 2G/3G, reset the phone to factory default settings, restarted the phone, did diagnostic tests without success. This is despit the fact I live in Sydney's Iner West and work on the 15th floor of an office building in the dead centre (Town Hall) of the Sydney CBD. I was used to the service dropping out to SOS in exactly the same spots every day on my morning ferry ride into the city.

After repeatedly calling their 1555 number and spending an hour or more on hold, I lost patience and complained to the TIO, who in turned followed up with Vodafone. Vodafone's TIO department called a few days later and offered me a BlackBerry Torch 9800 at no cost as a replacement. As I have been a Vodafone for 15 years I wanted to gve them the benefit of the doubt and offer a chance to redeem themselves. The replacement phone was ordered by Vodafone's TIO department on December 2 and I was told it would be here within 10 working days.

A week later I called to check on the progress as I simply didn't trust them and was told again that the order was placed and I should call back within a few days if I hadn't seen the phone. 12 working days later and with no phone, I called to see where it was and was told that it was on back order and I should get the phone sometime in January. I lost it and told them that the phone was in stock when I called in early December and that I was not hanging up until they located one. Mysteriously my phone arrived the next day. While the calls are marginally better, they are still not good enough. I put the improvement down to the 9800's superior reception not their network.

I am paying for ADSL2 but am receiving worse service than my old dial-up network. I also experience constant dropouts with the Internet and it often takes two or three attempts to get connected. Forget downloads it takes me up to 5 minutes to open an email! Worse still I constantly have my phone reading " searching" and my device constantly drops out. It's meant to be 3G but I'm not getting what I'm paying for. I'm currently waiting for a call back and that was over a week ago!! The last time I spoke to someone about my Internet I wasn't even talking with someone who lived in Australia and the last time I spoke to someone about my phone service they had me on hold for 45 minutes and then couldn't help me and had the audacity to send me a questionaire via email ( which I couldn't bloody open)
I have threatened not to pay my bills but then I'd have creditors chasing me!

My phone continuosly drops in and out of service. Goes from 4 bars to no bars and I don't even move from where I am standing. The amount of 30c re call backs fees I am charged per day would be definently adding up. I too have been on hold to vodafail (I mean vodafone?) for hours on end, one call was 5 hours of being pushed between departments and told by their customer service people to calm down and not be angry or rude to them - How long is a person to remain patient for???

Vodafone about 3-4 years ago was better than Telstra - Optus = NO COVERAGE - so we are limited with telco choice. Heck I can LIVE with poor coverage in certain areas, but if I pay for a phone and it DID work in my home, then I expect that it should continue - what REALLY peeves me if the way that you CANNOT contact them at all - the 'contact us' on their website is not active - you wait for hours on hold and THEN if you happen to hit the jackpot and actually get through to a real person - they can't help you anyway and just offer rubbish platitudes than make you feel like you have wasted your time!!
As for LARA - she should be fired from a nuclear missile to hell and beyond

drop out during important business call and emails. Losing catering deals due to drop outs and no reception to call back and through emails.extra charges to retrieve voicemails whilst the mobile has not rung.costs lost are at least $1500 over the last 2 months to my business due to their poor and no service.
When I ve call on a number of times their service is rediculous especially the recorded voice of LARA it drops out, she doesnot understand what you really need and you are put on hold for hours and get nowhere which in the mea time you run a business and your customers see you on the phone and walk out.
Once i left my number and yes they call me back at around 7-8 pm and after explaining the situation to them they stated that they would get technical support to call me back which they never have till date. And to top it off the people you do talk to over the customer care line are not from Australia and have an accent which they do not understand your needs. Pathetic poor service!!!

my phone constantly drops out and goes from full reception and no 3g, to no reception and 3g, to "searching..." to "No Service" all whilst sitting in the same spot.
I was once left with "No Service" for about 8 hrs.
I have called Vodafone to tell them about my frustration only to be on hold for an hour and a half then the phone dropped out, then I called back and was on hold for a further 2hrs, when i finally got through the man couldnt seem to understand what my problem was and I had to repeat my situation a few times his only advice was to reset my network settings.
I also went into a Vodafone dealer and there only suggestion was to change my sim card, which didn't work because i'm still experiencing problems.

7017 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Terrible at 28 Dec 2010 05:11:46 PM
The USB Wireless internet does not work. Had connection problems, rang vodafone customer care was put on hold for over an hour and when they answered the phone they told me they couldn't help me and gave me the technical support number. They wouldn't connect my call so I had to call technical support and was put on hold some more.

Spoke to a few technical support people (which they kept transfering me to different people) none that could help me. Then they took my number and told me they will call me back the next day at 5pm. They called me back at 4pm when I was still at work and I had explained the day before they have to call me AFTER 5pm. When I spoke to them the guy had no idea what my techical problem was even though I had spent an hour on the phone explaining the problem the previous day. They told me they had to speak to their supervisor and will call me back the following day again. I sat at home waiting at the nominated time for over 2 hours when no one called me which by then I rang them. They still had no record of my complain despite that I had taken down all the names of the people that I had spoken and dealt with. The guy I spoke to this time figured out my USB was faulty so I had to take the USB back to a Vodafone shop to be exchanged. Once it was exchanged it still had problems.

I wrote a detailed written complaint to Vodafone about their service along with explaining how I never got my 3 months free access as part of the sign up agreement. I received a letter from Vodafone stating we will credit you for 3 months free access as part of the sign up agreement. But no apology or anything to the detailed complaint that I had written. Just simply ignored.

After calling Vodafone a few more time I am able to connect however signal drops out sometimes and can't wait for the contract to be over in March next year!!

Rejoined Vodafone in March 2010 and within the month remembered why I left in the first place. Took 8 weeks to get my voicemail set up (website down & tires of being placed on hold by India - store staff of no help), call dropouts every day, daily call failures - 4 bars yet still searches for reception. Tried having a conversation with a fellow Vodafone user (he was in Merrylands I in Balmain) phone dropped out about 15 times. Poor service and if it didn't cost me so much to get out of contract I'd be gone.

I tried to activate global roaming before going to Singapore, I rang 3 times before leaving Sydney to confirm activation. After arriving in Singapore (which apparently had good call rates) I had no service, I had to make numerous calls from our hotel (excessive charges) then after 5 days (I was only away for a week) I finally got service. After arriving back in Sydney I de-activated global roaming. I had no service for a few days (I needed to be contacted by work and could not be)I had a huge bill, I was charged for data charges ( I couldnt use my phone for calls let along data) I was told data had been banned on my phone as I had requested as this was not part of my plan, yet my bill had more than trippled and I was told I should have let them know, even though I only just got my bill. I was put on hold for over an hour (sometimes in excess of 3 hours) around 9 times. In the end I got told it was a technical difficulty and was put through the technical department, after being on hold for 3 hours I was eventually transferred to a random persons home phone number, How did vodafone even connect me to somebody's home number? I have had nothing but troubles since signing a contract with vodafone.

~ i went into a vodafone store to get help face to face. they told me my number didnt exist. i got a friend to call me with the one bar opf signal i had. and it rtang. but no - "you must have told people the wrong number" what?? it just rang!, "well the number you gave me doesnt exist." "can i call my phone using one of yours". and shock horror it rang - but on the system it doesnt exist. so they tried to charge me to use that number despite it not being on their system! i showed them that it was vodafone and it did exist but i had no signal and no one was helpful. they told me to get a new number, a new phone and new plan. all vodafone of course! i said no and walked out. 10 minutes later i found that they had disconnected my number. i went back and the person i spoke to said that it was recorded last time i came in (the 10mins) that i wanted to disconnect that number and start on a new number with a much higher plan - and they charged my credit card!
i only went with them as they have the extra money offer like the $29 cap = 160. Never again!
~ sends texts or receives texts up to 2 1/2 weeks after they were sent, usually in the middle of the night about 3am, which is unacceptable in the extreme!.
~Not letting calls through (to 000) when i needed police help! they told me that the network was busy and try again in an hour!
~ instead of sending one sms when it is written, it sends multiple - even 46 copies to the one recipient. AND I WAS CHARGED FOR EVERY SINGLE ONE
~ vodafone hung up on me when they said that they couldnt help me, also saying - judst deal with it
~ being on hold for over an hour EVERY time i call
~ not being able to understand basic problems and then told not to ring back again when i rang several time with the same complaint.
~I live in rural victoria with no reception, i went to melbourne to get service and in thge heart of melboune there was zero bars. i was told that my phone was faulty - deespite it being a vodafone phone. i bought a new phone, an expsensive one and it was still the same

I thought it was me until my friend who got a contract at the same time said she was experiencing reception problems too, dropped out calls, even my voicemail, I have to check it every now and then because I don't get a message to say there is one waiting to be heard! Internet so slow I have to turn my phone off and on to get some sort of reception! But the worst is dropped calls! Very Frustrating! They were good before, but something obviously happened. And doesn't help being on hold for a long time and then talking to someone reading from a script!!!!

6973 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Massive fail at 28 Dec 2010 05:05:18 PM
I got a new iPhone 4 with three and since they merged with vodafail at least once a month I have days at I time where all I get when I try to make a call is network coverage lost or if someone calls me the call abruptly drops out then no further calls can be made. I can also not have had my phone ring for the majority of the day and all of a sudden I will get bombarded with missed call notifications and texts from early in the day. I tried numerous times to contact 3 and on the odd occasion that I got through (after being on hold and passed around for far too long) they where of no assistance and also didn't bother to follow up when the call was disconnected due to their crappy coverage. Looks like I'll be paying almost $100 a month for two years for an unreliable service that works intermitatly. Thanks for nothing.

I've tried for a long time to get a plan with vodafone, I ordered a phone online, they called me a few days later to confirm the order, I wished to change the phone in the plan, the woman informed me that I would need to cancel the order and re-order to receive the phone I wanted, so I did this. I went to a vodafone store who wasted an hour of my time while trying to get another phone and decided to go to another that night. It took me 2 and a half hours to get my phone. Two weeks later I received a package in the mail, it was the phone I had ordered online which I had cancelled... I rang them immediately and said I wasn't going to pay for it, the woman assured me I wouldn't have to. She said IT would contact me in a few days and send me out a satchel to send the unwanted phone back, I waited for 2 weeks. I then received my phone bill, they were charging me for both. I spent over a week trying to call them, I was hung up on, left on hold for hours on end. Never once raising my voice or getting angry. Finally I got a hold of them and they said they wouldn't charge me and send me out a package to send it back in. If I don't receive it I will cancel my plan with them and not pay a cent.
It takes me about 5 attempts to make a phone call, the message 'connection error' constantly appearing, even when my phone has full reception. The internet is so slow and drops out all the time. It can take 3 attempts to send a message and forget even trying to send a multimedia message, cause it just wont work.

Vodafone kept sending me daily messages at stupid hours of the day telling me i had insufficient credit to complete the transaction (my credit balance rarely falls below $50). Tried calling them for two days straight wasting a total of 14 hours 45 mins on hold only to be hung up on with each attempt beforr actually speaking to a human. Logged a complaint through the website and was advised i would receive a response within 25 hours. 1 week later, I resumed calling Voda several times a day only to be hung up on after wasting around 2 hours on hold each time. Finally, about a month later, i received a call and was told the issue was resolved, only to receive the same stupid texts a two in the morning. Is always an endless loop with them!!

1) SMS are not delivered for hours, this includes to other phones on the Vodafone network. Unacceptable.

2) I have a 1.5GB data limit per month. I have 3G reception but data will NOT work properly on Vodafone's network. I have to use a private WIFI to access data.

3) My girlfriend (who is also on Vodafone) attempts to call me when we are BOTH in areas with excellent Vodafone coverage and calls cannot connect.

4) I used to work for a select dealer of Vodafone on the NSW Central Coast and as such had my employment cut short due to being abused by Vodafone staff in company e-mails. No apology or action was ever taken.

5) While working for the select dealer I was also placed on hold for over 90 minutes while trying to investigate several complaints to our store about a service drop-out on the NSW Central Coast. After finally getting in touch with them, Vodafone denied any problem existed. Over 50 customers (including myself) experienced zero service.

They are in breach of the contract that I signed with them which clearly states what I pay them on a monthly basis and what they must provide to me. They are NOT providing it. They are liars. They now owe ME money.

Service has completely disappeared about 3 weeks ago...one minute just fine...next minute can't get service at all. Can't make calls. Don't get text ,essages till days later. The phone doesn't even ring the network is so bad! Have tried (and failed) to get through to customer service (four goes on hold for over an hour.) Lodged a complaint online and was sent a response that didn't even make any sense. Was told a technician would be in touch and then got a text message asking me to call them but I can't get through!!!!! The email actually (laughably) raved on about how great the service is and 98% of Australian's can get network coverage. I have had enough. Planning to go into a store next week (which is 2 hours drive away) and throw the phone at them. We run a busniess on the phone number and have lost countless sales leads because people could not get through to us!!!

My friends don't get my picture msg for days later, my phone always drops out with almost every call. When I ring vodafone I always seem to get someone that cannot understand me nor can I understand them, I'm always on hold for ridiculous times. Vodafone has also stuffed up with my bills charging me way more then I have used and when I ask to speak to a manager because the operator has no idea what I'm talking about they tell me the manager will call me back within the next 24hours, I never receive that call back so I'll call customer service again and it seems there is never a manager on duty! I also have vodafone internet for the computer which I can't use because that also NEVER and I mean never has coverage!

I was sent picture messages on the 25 December and again on 26 December. I did not receive these messages until 5am on 28 December.

I called Vodafone about a week ago to reset my 'online' account, I waited an hour, the couldn't resolve my problem and asked if they could call me back, I instead requested a text msg to confirm the problem was resolved. I was asked if they could help me with anything else, I said yes, I wanted to know how much it would cost to cancel my account. I was then transferred to another 'department' and YES, I was on hold again, so I gave up and hung up!

I have also had periods of now network coverage in the Sydney CBD which resulted in my calls going directly to Voicemail.

So over it!

28 Dec 2010 05:07:57 PM: In actual fact, Vodafone DOES have a Tasmanian call centre. If you know who to ask for you can definitely speak to an Australian representative. I only have 1 bar of reception at home and absolutley no internet access on my phone. Everytime I make a call, It drops out. I call again and it drops out again. It's an endless cycle.

Sometimes when others try to call me, they can't get through as it says my phone is switched off or not in coverage - but it's not switched off and I am in coverage.

I have expressed my outrage with vodafone's horrible customer service. After waiting more than 45 minutes on hold, I was put throught to a person who clearly didnt know how to do his job.

I demanded he change my $99 plan to the $65 plan at NO charge - he did so after I threatened to contact the Ombudsman.

Vodafone, I have told everyone I know about your poor coverage/reception and disgusting customer service. If I do not see a result quiet soon, then I will disconnect my service!

Since renewing my contract with Vodafone and getting a new smart phone earlier this year, the service level has gone done and down and down. I live in Brisbane in a inner city suburb and if I am in my house my calls will drop out over 50% of the time, data and internet is so slow i will often need go do some shopping/mow the lawn etc just to pass the time while waiting for a page to download!

I come down to the NSW South Coast each Christmas to see my family, and this year I have been here over a week and my phone calls are staticy and extremely low quality ALL OF THE TIME. Around half of all calls will drop out before I am finished on the call. The Data and internet access is COMPLETELY NON EXISTANT HERE, i have been trying to get service to work for about 6 days now and all my phone can say to me is tell me that the origin server is bad. The origin server is not bad, its NON EXISTANT, there is no service, period!! I am absolutely disgusted with my new plan and want out, but I will not be bothering to call Vodafone again as I dont have time to wait on hold for hours only to be told by someone in another country that it is basically MY problem not theirs!

Vodafone and after a period of time on hold, numerous rude persons and being transferred through a number of departments was told that there was a coverage problem however because i had moved into this area after siging the contract it was my fault. Vodafone seemed utterly disinterested in the fact that my new home was less then 5kms from my old address and that i had been assured that Vodafone had excellent coverage by sales staff.
..
I was further told that i would have to pay nearly $1000 to exit my contract.
..
Vodafone has offered no other dispute resolution to this matter. As an emergency services worker who is often called out i rely on good coverage to make and recieve phone calls. Further to this, I find it appalling at the level of customer service and lack of coverage in a Sydney Metro.

I ported my phone number from Vodafone to Optus June 2009 as i no longer had a contract with Vodafone and couldn't stand them. Since that time I have received both paper and electronic 'bills' stating that my bill is due and that I'm actually 29 cents in credit. I have wasted my own time no less than 3 times now ringing, being put on hold, asking to speak to a supervisor etc to get them to delete me from their files. The Voda staff ALL read back to me what is written in my file about the last time I rang and what i asked. Every time I am ASSURED that I will be deleted from their files yet on the 23rd December 2010 I get yet another text message 'alert' saying "your Vodafone bill for account XXXXXXXXX is now available. A total of $-0.29 is due on 12th Jan. Visit online at myvodafone.com.au to view your bill". Surely it is illegal for Vodafone to retain me as an unwilling customer? Surely they must, by law remove me from their accounts? Especially as I have asked time and time again for them to do so?
28 Dec 2010 03:53:09 PM: Go into a Vodafone store. Give em ur billing account number and tell them to remove ur mobile number from ur billing profile.

6688 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is MEGA fail at 28 Dec 2010 03:19:47 PM
My partner and I have been Vodafone customers for 6-7 years now, after starting out on prepaid we were spending to much money so we decided to go on a cap. Vodafone had always worked so well for us and the caps were always so much more affordable and since we both travelled so much for work this was always our best option and we were always happy. But since renewing our plan and increasing our cap from $49 to the $79 cap in Dec 2009 we have been nothing but dissappointed. Firstly, I entered into a new plan a week before going overseas for a holiday. On my return 2 weeks later I had a bill for over $2000, I knew I had not used my phone that much whilst overseas, especially not enough to accrue a bill of that amount, after finally reaching them, they explained that I had 'apparently' cancelled a contract on 07 Dec, funny that, when it was impossible as I had only just signed 2 new contracts and on the date I was meant to have cancelled a contract in Australia, I was in Rome!!!! They eventually (after several phone calls to vodafone and the retailer where this apparently happened) they removed the fee. This however was just the beginning of a very disappointing run with Vodafone. Our caps vary so much, we are constantly shocked at the cost of our bills, knowing we do not vary our calls that much from month to month yet they are always over cap and sometimes by over $200. When I was with Telstra, if they could see your cap going over alot or not workng out, they used to contact you and talk through some ideas to better suit your calling patterns (this has never happened with Vodafone, they just want our money, there is no customer sevice) We have recently moved to a large inland NSW town, where you would expect to get full coverage, we get nothing and still have 12 months left on our plan. For our jobs, we both get moved regularly, we have been from Brisbane, to Sydney to Newcastle and until the past few months, have had no problems with reception. Now, even back in Sydney for christmas (a capital city), we get nothing, in a CAPITAL city, how can you get no coverage?? I was sent picture messages on Christmas day of my family as I was unable to be with them, some I received 3 and 4 days later, most I still have not received 5 days later. We can have full netowrk coverage and 3G activated, attempt to log onto the internet and wait for up to 10mins before it even looks like connecting, you would think if you have reception you could utilise the service. This is unacceptable, we pay for a service that we can not even use...... RUBBISH!! I have not been reveiving bills either via the mail or e-mail, I am just receiving text saying my bill is overdue, this is not acceptable. I have attempted to call several times to discuss my issues however after it cutting out and then being on hold for 30mins plus, and then for them to say they will redirect me and be taken back to the voice activated main menu AGAIN and AGAIN and get no where I have given up. I WANT OUT!!
28 Dec 2010 03:26:02 PM: I understand this exactly!!! If you have a problem you cannot get a hold of anyone or get an answer!!
I've had enough of them

Although i live in the middle of Belconnen, i am continually experiencing drop-outs.
To make a call i have to retry dialing the number are least three times before it will connect, even then, once it has connected, the other party either can't hear me or i can't hear them.
The majority of the time my calls will go straight to voicemail without ringing.

Customer service (if it could even be called that) is worse than the last company i was with!
The reason why i made the change to vodafone was because of the crappy customer service from my previous carrier, and i assumed that having the shopftonts would be a convenience, how wrong i was.
The shopfronts are only good to convince you to purchase a new handset.
Whenever i go in for help, they tell me to call customer care(less) and that annoying LARA makes me want to rip my hair out trying to get onto someone to help me with my phone.
Then once i get past her, I'm on hold for the next 15-25 minutes, and if that's not enough, the person on the other end tells me to go in to my local store.
Upon reading some of these posts i am beginning to see a trend. 'Pass the buck till the customer gets so annoyed that the give up & deal with it'.
I gave up because i thought it was the norm, I've only ever had crappy service & even worse customer service, so i did give up.

Now that i know there is 'light at the end of the tunnel', i will join in with all you unhappy consumers & help defeat this corporate monster, taking our hard earned money and failing to deliver what's promised.

Good luck everyone

6630 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is NO SERVICE!! at 28 Dec 2010 02:14:21 PM
How the hell am I able to use my 'cap' when I can't make a frigging call!!
HERDLY ANY SERVICE ON THE GOLD COAST!!! CALLS CONSTANTLY DROPPING OUT!!
Screw you VODAFONE!!
I called Vodafone to complain, was on hold for 40 minutes, then when I finally got through, the answering service told me they were now closed!!!
Honestly, this is the WORST service EVER!
28 Dec 2010 02:24:09 PM: Cut up your card and post it to yourself in an envelope to prove you couldn't have used it. DON'T OPEN THE ENVELOPE,, Set your internet banking to pay the minimum they require and get a service with someone else. WHEN VODAFONE OVERCHARGE YOUR CAP, WHICH THEY WILL, YOU WILL HAVE A LOVELY COURT CASE TO SUE THEM WITH!
28 Dec 2010 03:52:17 PM: your a loser.
28 Dec 2010 06:26:35 PM: I know what you're saying, i have a debt collection company chasing me for a months bill from when i was living on the coast, guess what I keep telling them to take me to court, they haven't yet, it's been a year. Lucky my sis in law is a solicitor. Go them for charging for a product or service they cannot provide. And I'm sure after printing off several pages from this site, my case ( if it ever gets to court) will make them a tad worried.

6577 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is not much at 28 Dec 2010 01:24:12 PM
I am an employee of Vodafone and feel this website is a massive over exaggeration. I go to work everyday, get yelled at, abused, told I am an idiot... yet still go out of my way for each and every customer (as do my colleagues) to ensure the best possible outcome.and service, sometimes it can take hours or even daysof effort.... We can't help it if the network fails, we can't help it if u don't get reception, and we can't help it if the call centres r busy... so .... before u all start complaining in store.. remember that majority of employees have Vodafone as their service provider.... WE ALL FEEL THE SAME PAIN !!!!! Have a bit of consideration for the people who try as hard as they can to resolve ur issues. If u have enough time to sit on the computer and create such a website u can certainly sit on hold to the Vodafone Customer Care Centres.
28 Dec 2010 01:30:56 PM: the call centres keep you on hold for over an hour, then hang up on you before they even answer the call!! THEN they charge you for the call on your next bill, how bout you pay $129 a month for absolutely nothing and see how pissed off you get at all the bullshit lies you keep getting told... while i sympathise with your position (well not really) you guys are just as guilty of feeding us the same shit we have all had enough of..... "you will be well looked after, you get excellent service" IF YOU KNOW ITS A LIE, WHY KEEP TELLING EVERYONE THE SAME CRAP??????
28 Dec 2010 01:37:45 PM: I dont think you should take it personal. People are mad at the service provider. you only work for the service provider. While you are the front line so you cop all the crap you should try to remember its not about you. Its about people paying for a service your boss is not providing.

Maybe if your boss stopped ripping people off you would get abused a little less. I know its not your fault and it sucks you have that job and I understand you dont go to work to get abused, but people work hard for their money and when we pay for a service we expect to get what we pay for.

Maybe complain to your manager everyday

lets be honest VODAFAIL sucks
28 Dec 2010 01:37:49 PM: I spent 6 months dealing with your customer service center - I was sworn at by your team members, when I didn't even swear, I was lied to over and over and was able to prove it thanks to taping calls in the end... I had to make all contact as no one ever called back, I was mocked and laughed at... one time the person thought they put me on hold and hadn't and I proceeded to hear them tell the manager how they were going to 'screw me over'.
Seriously and you are happy to admit that you work for this company!
28 Dec 2010 01:45:18 PM: I feel sorry for the store employees, but I agree with the reply above. Yes it would take time to set up a website, but that's only one person's time. If all the people who have commented tallied up the hours left waiting on hold, arguing the point and then still having no resolution, it'd be quicker to roll out a new network. The website has also been set up because there's nowhere left to turn - nothing else has worked. But the can of worms is now well and truly open. If I was an employee I'd want to quit as these problems will not be resolved in the short term.
28 Dec 2010 01:49:58 PM: In regard to your last line about having the time to sit on hold instead of creating a site.... HE CREATED THIS SITE WHILE ON HOLD... AGAIN, you fail! Obviously you belong at your job... you fail to listen to the customer and find out the facts.
28 Dec 2010 01:54:42 PM: I am a owner of a vodafone store and find that you like to shift blame onto the network and its coverage, so its the staff issue well what a load of crap. Do we look like little chinese people that build the phones or do we look like the little man that climbs the tower to fix your reception issues no we dont so take into consideration there are big issues but its about the network and its coverage not th people that work in the retail outlets over the country most of them are privately owned, If you were to come to my store and cry abiout the recpeption this is what I would say sorry about that sir or madam but we dont control that here but here is the customer service no. and you know why we say that it is because we dont bloody fix them we can only assist you so please take into account these people that work in these shops are just sales people not tech people so call the customer service no 1555 on your mobile or 1300650410 on landline if yoiu have no reception at them time. Also I am very happy to own and operate a Vodafone store!!!
28 Dec 2010 02:00:15 PM: I am a Vodafone customer much ot my regret however I also work in a call centre as a supervisor and I know how much abuse you can get.No fair I agree however the people who work at Vodafone are not the easiest people to try to get to understand or to deal with. I went to a Vodafone store today to ask about insurance that I pay on my phone and when I questioned what she had told me she laughed in my face!!!!!She did not give too hoots what I was asking. This was at the Blacktown store. If I cant get a decent answer from someone face to face how am I to get a decent answer when the person I call is located in MUMBAI. I then called the stupid LARA and when the lady from Vodafone customer care rang me back after two hours she told me she could not help me so she said she would transfer me to the insurance section. ONly she failed to tell me that this department only works Monday to Friday and not on a public holiday. So f course I was asked to call in business hours. She should have known it was a public holiday in Australia. I have wasted a lot of time on this vodafone thing.I agree people should have some consideration for the people on the other end of the Phone trying ot help however some of the customer service people they have working for them leave a lot to be desired.
28 Dec 2010 02:07:30 PM: IM SUPRISED YOU CAN UNDERSTAND ENGLISH MOST WORKERS IN THE VODAFONE CALL CENTRES DONT!!
28 Dec 2010 02:10:46 PM: A bit Racist dont you think
28 Dec 2010 02:15:56 PM: to the person who thinks this website is "a massive over exaggeration". my arse it is. obviously you have never had the pleasure of being on hold to vodafone & speaking to someone who doesn't speak a word of english properly or doesn't give two shits about you as a customer. how would you like to speak to someone you can't understand, be put on hold for over an hour, be put through to two different departments and be hung up on while you are still talking? i bet you would be singing a different tune if this happened to you.
28 Dec 2010 02:38:51 PM: I actually do that everyday... its called patience ! All im saying to everyone is yes Vodafone is certainly not perfect i can see that from the issues i have with my phone also... what im saying is i shouldnt have to go to work and be abused all day when all im doing is trying to help, some things are out of my control.... i just know that the amount of complaints are on this website there will be people who come into thew store and do the same thing and i will have to cop it, just wanting people to think before they start screaming at me and everyone else that works for Vodafone. And yes, I am proud to work at Vodafone otherwise i wouldn't .. i'm proud of the way i handle issues and do my best to resolve them ! oh and i didntr say INSTEAD of creating a site i said if u have the time to create it u have the time to sit on hold !
28 Dec 2010 02:45:25 PM: If u know (which u obviously do) that the service promises u r selling for voda r nothing but lies then u do deserved to be yelled at!
28 Dec 2010 02:57:47 PM: If a customer came into the store to buy a Vodafone service and i knew it wouldn't work.. i would 100 percent NOT sell it to them - i would advise against because it doesnt only hurt the customer it makes my life harder
28 Dec 2010 04:01:54 PM: to the person who said if u have time to create a website u have time to sit on hold. if you yourself are having issues with your phone then why in hell are you working for a store that is selling crappy shitty vodafone service? you said that you are proud to be working at vodafone then you ae a bloody idiot & you deserve to be yelled at.
28 Dec 2010 04:28:41 PM: To the Dickhead above.. U seem pretty tough to yell at people who r not supposed to yell at I back ! Where do u work , love to visit.

6569 Someone from WA thinks vodafone is "COMPLAINT" at 28 Dec 2010 01:16:18 PM
Nothing to add concerning the problems I am experiencing with Vodafone performance, they've been mentioned here numerous times already. However, after waiting on hold for hours this morning without getting through to so called 'customer care' I told lara 'complaint' and got through straight away. This happened twice this morning. So I suggest responding to lara with the one word - complaint and you may not need to be kept on hold for hours. Both Indian call centre operators (Sarah and Dexter) were helpful and courteous, cosidering the constraints and no doubt adversity they are being subject to. I wish you all the best of luck in resolving your issues.
regards, Tyrone

6533 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Pretty awful at 28 Dec 2010 12:49:04 PM
I bought a mobile broadband modem from Vodafone last year, and 98% of the time the thing is stuck on GPRS or EDGE, and is about as fast as a dial-up modem. The other 2% of the time it works pretty damn fast on 3G, apparently just to taunt me, since there's no way of knowing when it will do that.

Also, I've had constant drop-outs, sometimes in the middle of a Skype call or download. Tried talking to Vodafone customer service, got put on hold for 15 minutes and then when I got through to a real person she hung up on me without warning, apparently because her English comprehension skills were just about non-existent and she got frustated. Guess that makes two of us. Thanks a lot, Vodafone.

6499 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Coverage is a mess and prices are appauling at 28 Dec 2010 12:20:39 PM
Vodafone charges more money per txt than any other phone company. At 33cents a txt (for pre-paid at least) he goes through $20 within days. This is just unacceptable. Also, coverage constantly drops out and yet I still get charged for these calls. I was once on hold to Vodafone for over 20 mins when the phone line just dropped. Speaking of being on hold, their customer service is disgusting. Recently my phone (supplied by Vodafone) died. I went to a vodafone store to get this matter resolved and was told that it wasnt their fault and there was nothing they could do about it. It's enough to make me want to switch companies as soon as my contract expires...

6467 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is killing them slowly at 28 Dec 2010 11:52:12 AM
I'm in Tuross Head at the moment visiting family. My husband and I are with Vodafone and have no network coverage AT ALL, my sister-in-law and my brother are with 3 and they have full 3G coverage. WTF is going on? I thought 3 & Vodafone were one and the same, perhaps I'm mistaken......Currently I'm on hold to Vodafone, fourth time today, first sunny day since getting here and i've been trying to resolve this issue since 10.30am it's now 1.50pm. Meanwhile my family is yelling at me because they're waiting for me to go fishing with them. This is only one of my issues,
i havent written about the call drop outs, dodgy internet etc. What a joke, although I'm certainly not laughing.
28 Dec 2010 12:22:59 PM: I just got off the phone from the Technical Disservice department of Vodafail who told me that I need to take my phone to a different location to see if my network coverage improves, if it does improve then I have to call vodafone back to tell them and then they will escalate my issue to the Network Specialists (???) and they will try to find out why I cannot get service at my current location. If the newtork coverage does NOT improve then I have to go and get new SIM cards for my husband and I as they might be faulty! SERIOUSLY....way to go to make it sound like it's not vodafones fault!
28 Dec 2010 12:31:16 PM: By the way they also told me that 3 and vodafone are separate and use different network towers? Is this correct?
28 Dec 2010 04:26:10 PM: I was asked FOUR times to change my SIM by the indian call centres, amongst other resets. I did it 3 times to humour them, the 4th I went to the TIO and complained about the 86 phone calls (no joke) I'd made in the previous 3 months and the disgraceful customer service. Fortunately their computer systems log each call and email. Even the insane ones where the Indian Call Centre says to email Vodafone, and when I did the email reply said "you spoke to 1555 about this problem already, so case: CLOSED" were logged by Vodafone, shooting themselves in the foot.

I'd had no signal at ALL unless I stood on my letterbox out on the street and waved my phone in the air and maybe (just maybe) I might get it for 30 seconds. The TIO made Vodafone call me about the issues. I was polite to the VF guy (it helps) and he let me out of my contract and gave me a huge $8 credit! Huge! He told me it was pretty obvious after the first SIM swap that wasn't the problem.

I'm now so happy with Telstra it's not funny. I almost feel like washing my mouth out with soap saying that, but it's true :)

I am a reseller of phone credit and sell about $15,000 a month in phone credit. Previously with Telstra for many years I changed in May this year to Vodafone for their unlimited service for both my wife and I as it was a good deal and I use my phone constantly for business. The story so far: phone sits on No Service half the day so I can't use it and I work and live 3 km from town, call drop outs all the time (3 on one call yesterday) the internet is so slow and crap that I don't even use 100MB of my 4GB download available, delayed text messgaes and lost ones, customer service non existent, have complained several times after being put on hold for ages to India and all the crap bullshit excuses in the world. Had enough and want out of both contracts and am going to the TIO. Vodafone sucks and should not be allowed to provide a phone service.

6443 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Worst. Network. Ever!!! at 28 Dec 2010 11:31:56 AM
After being a loyal vodafone customer for many years, i have finally "had enough" with the constant call drop outs, lack of reception, deylayed sms and mms (if i got them at all that is) and in general very very poor customer service (call centre)
So i have gone to another major network now, and am much happier with them, although when i had my number ported from vodafone to the new network, 4days later i recieved a letter from a debt collector with a 72hr demand for $400, thanks vodafone...

Thats just the begining, i also had mobile broardband with vodafone, again had very very limited reception, the connection would constantly drop out, very slow to load pages etc so once my 2year contract was up (i still used it month to month) i decided to cancel my account as i couldnt use the service as desired and wasnt happy paying for something i cant use, so on the phone i got to cancel, after speaking to "lara" and sitting on hold for 45mins i get told that the department i would need to speak to has just closed, so the lady on the phone took my details and claimed she would arrange a call back the next day, well late afternoon the next day and still no call back i get back on the phone, 58mins on hold (i timed it) i speak to someone, telling them im not happy with the service an my contract was up and to cancel the account, i was then placed on hold for a few seconds and was then disconnected!!! I couldnt believe it, i got straight back on the phone and after another 45min wait i spoke to someone, who tried and tried and tried to talk me out of ending my service, eventually they did cancel the service and made the sim card from my broardband stick a prepaid mobile phone sim card and put $20 credit on it as a "good will gusture"

Anothe quick rant about the call centre wich the tellco uses, i personally found it very very hard to understand most of the operators due to very thick accents.

Im so glad im no longer a customer of vodafone and would never go back or recomend it to anyone!

6431 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Vodafone sucks at 28 Dec 2010 11:18:55 AM
I recently purchased a HTC legend through Vodafone - 24 month contract with $50 credit and 1.2 GB data for first 12 months with 200 MB after. The data allowance on my plan appears as 200 MB which hasn't been fixed after calling them twice and waiting online for about 50 mins every time. They had also charged me incorrect amounts on my bill (which they have now reversed).

The operators on the phone have no clue of what they need to do. For every question I was put on hold for 15 mins and they would come back and try to handball by saying call the data management department.

I am regretting moving away from three just cos of a better deal with Vodafone.
In summary "Vodafone cannot be trusted and I would give their service a minus 3.

6410 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Totally Dodgy at 28 Dec 2010 11:06:06 AM
I have some issues with the service from Vodafone as well, but not only with the coverage and calls dropping out but with the level of reagrd and treatment from customer service itself.

Vodafone called me to se if I wanted to renew my contract as mine was coming to an end. The middle eastern sounding lady told me about the new infinite cap which was fine, and then she asked me about my phone and how that was going I said it had a few issues so she offered me a new one I said that I wanted to get the iphone 4 but was advised that they were out of stock and there was a wait of up to 4 weeks so she said that I should get this other phone called the Nokia N8 I quizzed her about the specifics of the phone and told her that if it wasn't exactly like the iphone 4 in looks and capalbility then I wsn't interested in that phone at all. She told me it looks exactly like the iphone and does all the same things but the only difference was the camera it being a 12megapixel as the iphone4 has only a 5megapixel. Had I of known that this camera is nothing like the iphone 4 I wouldn't have even considered getting this phone especailly wehn I got it, the phone was faulty as broken calculator. At first when I got it I was super hessitant since it wasn't what I was expecting at all but decided to give it a go anyway. Once I charged the battery I stuck my sim card in and began my using it, my relationship with my new phone lasted for not even 2 days. Turns out the phone was faulty, the battery didn't even last a day, and it would take a really long time to respond to any commands that I would give it or just not respond at all or if I managed to get to the applications screen and try to open one the wole phone would just go black. So began my calling to vodafone, or should I say VODAFAIL.. I called them every day for nearly 2 weeks sometimes several times a day and each time I'd be left on hold for over an hour waiting and then when I FINALLY GOT THROUGH and explained my situation about how the phone was faulty and misled into getting it the first place, they would only say that I have come through to the wrong department and that would have to transfer me to the correct one, this happened at least 6 times everytime I would call customer service! I have been a customer loyal to vodafone for nearly 8 years and I think I think I deserve better than this! They sent me the phone by courier from an Allphones store and said that if the phone came form them then I would have to take it up with them. So I did they told me it Vodafone's probelm, Vodafone sent me back and forth like a tennis ball wi this faulty phone cos niether of them wanted to take responsibilty of a faulty phone. In the end I finally got through after another 1 and half or so of having to listen to the annoying Lara, to an Australian guy who explained that despite the circumstances of being misled in getting the Nokia N8 I had signed a verbal contract with that phone and that the only thing that they could do was send me out another one. I explained that I wasn't interested in getting another one of this handset and asked that my upgrade to the 49 infinite plan be reversed and I send back the faulty handset to vodafone, and start over. After being told that this was possible by someone else (another middle eastern person) the Australian guy said that the only thin that he could do for me was send me out a replacement of the same handset of the Nokia N8, and if the second handset turned out to be faulty as well only then would they look at reversing my upgrade and sending me out a different phone all together, being the iphone 4 which is what I wanted to start with. The lady that initially did the upgrade was only trying to give me the hard sell on that phone as they would commissions on every phone sold. So now I have to wait for this other Nokia N8 and find out if it faulty and go through the entire process AGAIN! I'm not racist, but it makes me so mad that for a company thats based in Australia, they would have a call centres in places like the middle east, you call them expecting to talk to someone who can understand what they are saying and you can understnad what they are saying but half the time you can't, its total bullox! If people can't speack english properly and clearly then they should be employed in call centres PERIOD. VODAFONE YOU TOTALLY BITE! Your name definately be should be VODAFAIL, you have definately failed me.

It starts with not having ANY reception in our house,so our phones and internet don't work!We get told to go into the vodafone shop to upgrade ur phones but once in the shop we then get told they cant upgrade to iphones in store and we have to ring them, but they did tell us they have iphones in store but they are not for exsisting customers, which i think we should get priority!! we then ring the vodafone place and are on hold for 20mins,we finally get thru and there systems are down and they also refused to upgrade as we had $50 outstanding but we paid it over the internet but they are making us wait 2 DAYS!!!!!.... vodafone...you are crap!!

Vodafone Customer Service needs to be reviewed also, everytime i have tried to ring voda customer service i have been on hold for at least 45min at a time, then somehow you have the wrong department after following the prompts correctly, then you have to wait another 30 - 45min again, and when you finally speak to someone inregards to getting some credit for the time you have waited, they come out with another load of rubbish story...

Go to hell vodafone and i will get out of my contracts, i will wipe my black ass and i will send the ceo what i think of his service.

6403 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is VERY Fail at 28 Dec 2010 10:58:59 AM
I have contacted VF via email after being kept on hold for an hour only to speak to an Indian who couldn't help me. They have admittedly been friendly in their email responses, however they give you 120hrs to respond and assume your problem has magically gone away if you don't respond in that time! I have basically been told to switch to 2G and note the details of any dropped calls or inability to make calls - like I have the time whilst working to note all this down!! VF just keeps telling me their "techs" are working to resolve the issue and have offered me no compensation even though having to remake dropped calls is making me go over and above my capped amount every month.

6380 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is extreme fail at 28 Dec 2010 10:40:17 AM
I phoned vodafone to cancel a mobile internet service i have had for 12 months. I sat on hold 4 nights in a row for 2.5 hours and when I finally got through to to a representative, the cancellations department had 'closed'. It took 2 irate phone calls to finally get through to the cancellations team who gave me the third degree about why i was cancelling. They then proceeded to tell me i signed a 24 month contract and a cancellation fee would apply. I am positive I would have only signed up to a 12 month contract as I was renting and aiming to go overseas the next year. I cannot find any paperwork at my end which is bad on my part otherwise I would have a case. I asked them to email me a copy of the contract which they could not do. i will be moving my business to optus when my contact is up in feb. VERY UNHAPPY.

My phone drops in and out all the time, usless having an iphone when you can hardy use the features due to signall strentgh andf i live in the city not the bush. At work i have to go outside to get better signal and this is in the CBD of Cairns, we are not a remote area. Tried callin many occoasions to get a payout figure but you spend so bloody long on hold and i have had this drop out when they are transferring you to another area to deal with my questions. My partner can hardy ever call me as my phone shows "no signal", then later on it's got it...bloody fustrating and i'm ready just to get away from Vodafone as much as i don't like Telstra, but considering just cancelling and moving to another provider.

Im sick of calling LARA, im sick of waiting on hold for 30-40 minutes, im sick of listening to customer service telling me there are no network problems in my area, and to turn off my phone, clean the sim, delete my sms inbox.... If a call is over 5 minutes it drops out, on Christmas Eve there were network problems all day. Im surprised that on the Vodafone website, where their apology is, that they have a blog going that is scathing of their service, they couldn't even get their network feedback email address right. Vodafone couldn't organise a root in a brothel with a fist full of fiftys.

6366 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Terrible 'customer service' and poor network coverage at 28 Dec 2010 10:28:53 AM
So after a few weeks trying to obtain an iphone upgrade through Vodafone, I was finally told that I could go direct to the apple store in Sydney who could do it for me as Vodafone didn't have any stock. It was all done and dusted in about 30mins. Loved the new phone, but as of Sunday my 3G service has decided not to work, I have difficulties making phone calls, my voicemail come in a few hours late and yet i seem to have full signal and the 3G sign is visible. Yesterday I spent a total of about 3 hrs on hold trying to speak to someone who doesn't speak English very well. Not to mention I am on my holiday! So I speak to someone who tells me to reset my settings and that should fix the problem. Did this about 6 times and it's not fixed anything. So I call back and when I finally get to speak to someone they tell me I should turn off my 3G and just use the 2g network which is super slow. He then transfers me to someone in 'network support' so they can look into the issue. I hung up after being on hold for 53mins so never spoke to anyone. I gave up. I have been with Vodafone for about 10 years and it is absolutely shocking, customer service is simply a joke.

6348 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is MEGA fail at 28 Dec 2010 10:11:49 AM

I signed up for 3G internet (usb modem) through Vodafone 22 months ago for a 24 month contract. After signing up discovered there was no 3G reception in Alice Springs. Called to complain and was told I could have half price slow internet for a short while (I think I was told a few months max) and then pay the full price plan for the rest of the contract once 3G started in Alice Springs. I think it was almost 6 months of NO internet (not sure now why I didn't officially complain about that at the time), and since then has been very unreliable and still quite slow - some days not working at all - always having to try to stick the usb out the window to get a decent signal. Until two and a half months ago when the internet completely cut out, and I have since had countless phone calls to Vodafone trying to resolve the issue - equaling countless hours on hold, and then not having anything resolved. I still have no internet.

I also have a mobile phone through Vodafone (24 mth contract - coming to a close) and have had very poor reception, often no reception for the last 24 months.

I wonder if I could also complain about the stress caused when my phone was cut off due to unusually high usage - only to find I had been charged almost $1000 for a one hour call to vodafone to fix the internet (unsuccessfully). I was able to get the fee reversed and my phone reconnected after much stress (and embarrassing tears).

My VF supplied Iphone broke down one day so I returned it to the store for warranty repair. After 8 weeks of returning the store every tuesday to get the same rubbish about waiting for parts my phone finaly comes back. The store operators told me that VF would not repair because there was water in the unit. I was a little confused at this because the phone does not go anywhere near water. I asked them if there was anywhere in town that would fix the phone for me and the guy gave me the name of a local dealer. This new guy fixed the phone for $130 and then told me that there was no water in the screen at all and VF should have fixed it for me in the first place. I went back to the VF store to complain and ask for a refund of my $130. Apparantly the dealer who I had been sent to was not on the official list of people who VF deal with so now the warranty is void! While all this was going on, I had not received any communication from VF themselves (i.e. Bills/letters in paper or electronically). I tried to ring them but got seriously bored after an hour on hold. When I finaly got my phone back and tried to use it there was call barring on the unit. After waiting out the hold and talking to Lara for several hours I finally got through to some one who explained to me in broken english that there was an upaid bill of $549 on my account. Even though I explained everything that had happened I still had to pay the bill and I am still suffering call drop outs, bad signal and so on

Constant drop outs. Absolutely CRAP 3G coverage. Delayed voicemail plus I was on hold to customer service for 2 hours. They then said to me my first month would be free but when I got my first bill they had still charged me.

I recently signed up for a plan.. If i knew the reception and dropped calls would be this bad i would have never signed up to vodafail.. Afer waititng on hold for over 1 hr, i sent a couple of emails letting them know they have over charged me and only got a response back when i sent my final email letting them know i am thinking of changing providers. There response was that the bill was correct. Stupid me i paid the bill not wanting to get a bad credit rating from one little incident. I want what i pay for and that is SIMPLY: to make a call without having to call back after 2 mins because the line dropped out or even better to be able to make the inital call and it connects straight away and not tell me that the call has FAILED. We are NOT living in a third world country.

6238 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is RIDICULOUS at 28 Dec 2010 09:19:52 AM
Service was completely cut off without warning yesterday morning, right as I was trying to contact my boyfriend who was at the airport, leaving australia for 3 months.
I've got a brand new blackberry and just joined vodafone a few weeks ago. My call to customer service breaks down as follows:
- transferring 13 times (back and forth between "technical": 6 times)
- asked to use the feature where they call you back, was told would take 30 mins. 2 hours later, nothing.
- finally, i called back. i was on hold for a mammoth 3 hours. 3 HOURS.
- i was repeatedly told that it was my phone that was causing the problem, and told to remove the battery, over and over again.
- finally, i was told i would have to go into a vodafone store before they will restore any service to my phone.

Also: i had to endure John Mayer's Your Body is a Wonderland 4 times. And Maroon Five's Sunday Morning at least 6 times.

Thanks Vodafone!
