Dear visitor,

Since its inception Vodafail.com has made a significant contribution towards raising awareness of the problems and issues faced by Vodafone customers.

Vodafone Australia customers have had the opportunity to voice their concerns, their fears and their troubles from every corner of Australia and beyond our borders. You have gathered the courage to stand up for your rights as consumers and to make your voice heard.

Each and every person who shared their story should have a sense of pride in this achievement and the changes that have occurred since the start of Vodafail.com.

More recently, traffic to Vodafail.com has declined significantly. Having achieved the goal of raising awareness and promoting concrete action in early 2011, we have now reached the point of closing Vodafail to new complaints. The site will remain online for as long as possible as a reminder and an example of what is possible when we share our experiences.

It has been a privilege to run this initiative and I'm am forever grateful for the help and support I've received. In particular I would like to thank Melissa, David and Travis for their continued efforts over the past 15 months. I'm also thankful and humbled by the support of ACCAN, Choice magazine and a wide range of media outlets, blogs and websites.

You can still browse existing stories and find out how to file a complaint if you are experiencing problems.

Until next time,

Adam Brimo

19330 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Extreme Fail! at 1 Sep 2011 11:57:46 AM
I signed up to a Vodafail Infinite $45 plan in March, with the expectation that I'd be able to cancel my Telstra landline as I'd no longer need it. How wrong I was. I'm now locked in to a 24 month contract with a phone I can't even use as I intended- to make ALL my calls on. Constant drop-outs, disconnection, "network busy" messages, SMS that take me up to 10 attempts to get through...it will often say "message fail". I'm a single mum of 3 trying to make ends meet, studying full time, on minimal income. I can't afford to sign up to another telco whilst still paying for this contract, nor can I afford to pay out this contract. I contacted them on 1555 and was told that coverage was supposedly high in my area. Was told they'd look into it. Nobody contacted me back to let me know what the outcome was. I've sent them an email, and if they don;t respond promptly, I will be contacting the TIO and will attempt to be released from my contract. Hopefully the end result is positive...however, based on my countless experiences of people on here, the odds are stacked against me :-(

Vodafail? I say Voda-F**ked!
1 Sep 2011 12:21:06 PM: please call today tonight i'm sure they'd be interested - so would their viewers ;)
1 Sep 2011 12:49:18 PM: I signed up to the same contract being told there is reception at my house. I don't have reception, I don't get call backs from operators regarding the matter, I can't send a sms, I can't use the net at home, I've had to empty out my bank account because of what I herd about previous incidents with Vodafone's 'secure' customer details storage being accessable world wide. This is simply terrible.

15 Sep 2011 12:34:25 PM: Well guess what? It worked! Vodafail released me from the remianing 18 months of my contract as of yesterday, with NO EXIT FEES and I am free to port my number back to Optus, woo hoo! Consumer power wins the day! thank you Vodafail, coming here really pushed me to fight for this, and I won! I should add that it pays to be polite, and to intelligently outline your complaint and the resolution you are seeking (in my case, rescinding of my contract without penalty) I also mentioned in my complaint that i feel that Vodaphone misrepresented themselves when i signed up, because if they'd been honest about the poor coverage i would never have signed the dotted line. That seemed to be the key to my success I believe. Going off at them will guarantee that you achieve little if any of your aims. they are now sending me a reply-paid bag to return my phone in, and I'm off to sign up with optus and get my free Samsung galaxy II! Thanks again guys!
