26 Mar 2012 - Update Highest Rated Pain Stories Highest Rated Gain Stories Vodafail Local Facebook Page
Dear visitor,

Since its inception Vodafail.com has made a significant contribution towards raising awareness of the problems and issues faced by Vodafone customers.

Vodafone Australia customers have had the opportunity to voice their concerns, their fears and their troubles from every corner of Australia and beyond our borders. You have gathered the courage to stand up for your rights as consumers and to make your voice heard.

Each and every person who shared their story should have a sense of pride in this achievement and the changes that have occurred since the start of Vodafail.com.

More recently, traffic to Vodafail.com has declined significantly. Having achieved the goal of raising awareness and promoting concrete action in early 2011, we have now reached the point of closing Vodafail to new complaints. The site will remain online for as long as possible as a reminder and an example of what is possible when we share our experiences.

It has been a privilege to run this initiative and I'm am forever grateful for the help and support I've received. In particular I would like to thank Melissa, David and Travis for their continued efforts over the past 15 months. I'm also thankful and humbled by the support of ACCAN, Choice magazine and a wide range of media outlets, blogs and websites.

You can still browse existing stories and find out how to file a complaint if you are experiencing problems.

Until next time,

Adam Brimo

i used to be with Vodafone, had the worst experience with their customer service, and was given Miss information, and promisses werent kept, even from the Senior level of complaints when i made a TIO Complaint, i used to call their 123 (Ask Anything) number just so i wouldn't have to speak to "Larah". and their 123 reps were often extremely rude, and would refuse to take credit card payments. hello this is a premium number where you can ask anything...!!!!

8085 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Lack of coverage at 29 Dec 2010 08:25:00 AM
I have been with vodafone for years. When we first moved into our house 4 years ago, reception was good, now we are lucky to get it even if we stand on one leg on the clothes line. Sometimes we get reception in the kitchen, then other times people tell us that they have been trying to call us for hours but the phone is out of service, yet we have not moved it from where it was when we had reception.

Lately, I have been UNABLE to print my bill up from the internet. They want us to access our bills from the internet, yet I can't get to it. I refuse to pay the bill till I see the whole bill. So what do they want......

My iP4 is ALWAYS 'Searching...' mode when I need the phone most. I'm in Glenfield and Villawood most of times because of Home and Work.

I've rung up Voda and their excuse is their doing maintenance work on the antenna's. That was 4 weeks ago... they're still doing maintenance work even today? Load of crap I say.

Trying to get a hold of a "real" person takes ages, although Lara is real polite but sometimes doesn't listen.

Anyways.... AAAARRRGH!

8082 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Unaustralian fail at 29 Dec 2010 08:22:06 AM
I have two mobiles through Vodafone, one for myself and one for my partner. Both of us are continiously pulling our hair out at the absolute lack of reception that is available through their service. It is not unusual for us to receive text msg many hours later after they have been originally sent. Voice mail services aren't much better either....but here is what really gets to me. I am an Australian Defence Force member about to be deployed overseas for a period of 8 months....and in preperation for that, I contacted Vodafone to request a suspension of my phone for the period that I am away as I would not be using the service. Let me point out that i merely wanted to SUSPEND my service not cancel it, so when I returned from active duty, i would recommence my mobile telephone service. I was told that the maximum amount of time they would suspend my service was three months and that i would have to pay out the remainder of my plan if I wanted it for longer. Tell me this, we as Australians support this company by signing up with them and paying our bills on the due date month in month out, but when i comes to providing support to us, it is simply too much to ask. I am 100% behind this website and what it stands for and it couldn't be put simpler...VodaFAIL!

8081 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is the rudest people alive at 29 Dec 2010 08:22:03 AM
I was over billed for 2 months in a row, only to hear the second time I rang (after waiting for over 40minutes) that my mobile broadband had all of a sudden changed from 500MB to 250MB. Whilst on the phone trying to get the sales rep (the manager might I add) to see sense, he changed the terms on my online bill.. asshole
I was then hung up on.

8080 Someone from ACT thinks vodafone is Epic Fail at 29 Dec 2010 08:21:48 AM
I am with the 3 network and they were fine until they were bought by vodaphone. I am on the $69 plan and was paying around $70-$80 a month. As soon as vodaphone tool control my bills are now in excess of $200. I have done nothing different in the way I use the phone. I was not informed by 3 that they were being sold to vodaphone and when I called them, after hours of being on hold, their help desk was anything buy helpful and I was left with no questions being answered. I am now stuck with a rediculous plan that doesnt meet any of their side of the contract, no reseption and no way out of the contract for another year. This phone company is an absolute joke and I would even say it is a crimanl act.
29 Dec 2010 08:24:20 AM: 3 and Vodafone aren't using the same network it's not as simple as just flicking a switch, if you are having 3 problems then it has nothing to do with the voda problems, just ask Telstra
29 Dec 2010 08:27:34 AM: Yea they are still using Telstra, ironically it's because they are still in contract with them! Hee hee hee

8078 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Very poor at 29 Dec 2010 08:20:27 AM
I've been with Vodafone for years. Never had a problem using an old school phone up to about 2007, then upgraded thru work to a BlackBerry. Intermittent issues commenced then. Work account was moved across to Optus earlier this year, so I went back to Vodafone for personal use as I can only get thru to my brother who lives overseas via Vodafone. From day 1 with an HTC Legend I noticed huge delays in data download and, when in the US for 4 weeks in September/October, noted an almost constant inability to detect Wi-Fi. No noticeable improvement when I got home but thought this was the phone, rather than the network. So I called Vodafone and, after waiting on hold for 56 minutes, finally got thru to someone - yes they were in India, but he was very nice and very helpful. With hindsight, they obviously knew of the issue by then because he was very specific in asking me if I believed my complaint was with the handset or the network. At that point I still thought it was just the phone, based on stuff I'd read online about the HTC Legend. So I got my iPhone4 and could hardly believe it when I realised that the situation was even worse! It functions slightly better if I turn 3G off, but that's kinda defeating the purpose with an iPhone and the improvement isn't all that significant anyway. All of this in the knowledge that I'm paying an extra $32 a month on my contract for the so-called 'upgrade'. So after their CIO announced in the press some weeks back that there were indeed issues and that the company should've acknowledged them sooner, I sent them an email asking why I should have to continue paying the additional fee on my monthly contract when the problem was clearly with their network / coverage all along and was probably little or nothing to do with my handset. The reply I received? A copy-and-paste reference to how I can upgrade my contract. Top marks to Vodafone for correctly interpreting a reasonably simple email question...not! I understand they're probably getting smashed by this issue; I also understand that Telcos worldwide are struggling (to some extent) under the weight of massively increased Smartphone uptake over the last 18-24 months. In the end, as the consumer, that isn't my problem. To my mind it's a fairly basic equation in a fee-for-service industry: provide full service = charge full fee; provide partial / intermittent service = charge partial fee. It's that simple!

8076 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Multiple issues at 29 Dec 2010 08:20:03 AM
A number of issues - when I forst changed over to Vodafone I was unable to receive picture messages. I emailed Vodafone and they told me to ring a number from a phone other then my Vodafone mobile - it's the only phone I have - ridiculous! Took several weeks to have the problem sorted. I was charged 4 times for sending ONE picture message. At 45cents per message it's not super expensive but it adds up. My husband has had Vodafone since March 2010 and he was finally able to receive picture messgaes a week ago (20 Dec). Only took them 9 months!!!! I often get messages a day or two after they were sent. Can't say I've have probs with coverage which is good at least as it seems many people do.

8074 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is epic at 29 Dec 2010 08:18:33 AM
I don't have a doorbell, and rely on my phone for any visitors to let me know they are here.
Often I get messages up to hours after someone has sent them, or they call and it says my phone is switched off or unavailable.
No, it's sitting on the desk showing full battery, and decent vodafone coverage. Yet calls still never come through. Most of my friends know that my mobile is completely unreliable now. It's back to rocks on the window to let me know they are here!

When I'm on the phone the calls drop out, sometimes every few minutes. Annoying!

I've tried calling the Vodafone help line and emailing, but no response, or I get the shits with an hour or two of "Hang on in there, we'll be with you real soon"

I've been a long term customer of Vodafone but it really has degraded badly in the past 12 months to the point where our whole family is thinking of making a switch.

I'm using mobile broadband of vodafone for couple of months. To tell the truth, the performance is awful even I live in suburb's center. Impossibly long waits for a response to a help call. I dont have time to waste waiting for Vodafone to respond! Am waiting out my contract, then will walk to another carrier, never to return.

8071 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Terrible Coverage at 29 Dec 2010 08:17:17 AM
I live in a northern beaches suburb of Cairns. My coverage is next to useless. I have to walk around the house to find a signal and then it will drop out. I recently drove right across Australia from Adelaide to Cairns and found that coverage was useless in most places unless you were right in the centre of a major town like Alice Springs, otherwise forget it. I travel with a prepaid Telstra backup phone just in case. I don't even bother now to take my phone with me when I travel in regional areas and I pay a lot for an unlimited iPhone plan. I feel ripped off. I have complained to Vodafone about coverage and they gave me the same spin...we have coverage in 99.53% of Australia. That is an outright lie - they are not accepting the reality that their coverage is next to useless anywhere you go in Australia. When I see Cairns people signing up in Vodafone shops I feel like running in there and warning them "DON'T SIGN UP... ALL YOU GET IS PAIN!"

8070 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Abusers of the dissabled and poor at 29 Dec 2010 08:16:46 AM
Vodafone refuse to abide by the Taxation Laws of Australia reguarding GST itemised tax invoices for alleged debts over AUD$75.00.
They tried to force us to move to a higher plan (mobile broadband) more expensive of course. We have screen dumps showing that we have not used anywhere near the capacity for charges of $650.00 for a less than $40.00 4 week agreement. They threten us with legal action and have stated their intention to ruin our good credit rating.

Do not use this company, they abuse the disabled and try to rob from the poor.

BTW:When I use Safari for windows to view this site all I get is a message and a counter clock.

A friend of mine sent me a text on the 24th and I received it last night at 11:00pm almost 5 days after the text. The 3G coverage on this network is woeful. I can hardly get onto the app store on my iphone and to even search google takes forever (if it connects to the internet at all). I switched from Virgin at the end of my contract for my previous iPhone as vodafone were more competitive. I realised from the day I switched what a mistake it was. It's the worst reception ever.

i am in no mess...been with VODAFONE....not VODAFAIL/VODAPHONE!!! for 14 years and still am....and have had no problems....have the HTC desire, is a fast processing phone with of course the back up of the network. Honestly, i think it is hideous and people try and whinge about everything. Yes they are in India, However ever time i have spoken with them about an issue/enquiry they respond well and on time. Yes they make you wait, but how many of you are calling cause you actually have a fault or just wanting to be a sheep and join the rest of the clan....

Watching you on today tonight made me laugh. Yes you were on hold for a long time but honestly... did you not know how to put the phone on loud speaker and actually do something constructive with your life then sit on your ass making a website about a company that is updating towers to benefit everyone.

They have 332 million people over the world for customers....GO TO TELSTRA AND PAY $60 FOR 1GB for your internet and stop complaining....
Vodafone has the money to back them up....HOPE YOU DO!!!

SHARE MY PAIN? PAIN IS DEFINED AS A SYMPTOM OF SOME PHYSICAL HURT OR DISORDER NOT WHEN YOU CANNOT SOCIALISE FOR 10 MINUTES MATE! THERE ARE MORE IMPORTANT THINGS IN LIFE, PEOPLE WITH REAL PROBLEMS....STOP OBESTY AND GET OFF YOUR ASS AND VISIT THE FRIEND!!! NOT SMS THEM!

THANK YOU....AND HAVE A NICE DAY...
29 Dec 2010 11:17:18 AM: A bunch of personal issues here that can't be resolved on this forum. The reality is that Vodafone's network doesn't work.( for me and it appears many thousands of Australians). We paid for it to perform as advertised, not deal with their excuses. Not interested in what they are 'gunnado" to improve network. They have failed to meet their contract with me. Want my money back and will move on to another provider.
29 Dec 2010 01:40:16 PM: if you went to the tio you would solve the issue calmly and civilised....not cause such a statement when they are down at the moment.

8058 Someone from ACT thinks vodafone is Gotta Follow the Rules at 29 Dec 2010 08:06:03 AM
Until the ACCC makes new recommendations, or the class action gets up, we still need to follow all the rules, yes it has been established and admitted by Vodafone that their is a problem but that doesn't give anyone the rights to stop paying or just port out and cancel, if you do this you will affect your credit file and you will be in the wrong.

Keep a diary of events, establishing the problem.

Figure out exactly what you would like to be done about it, be prepared to compromise!

Contact Vodafone tell them what the problem is and what you would like as a remedy.

If then they can't help you, then contact the TIO, or join the class action.

Wait times are crap at the moment of course because of all the problems, you will have to be patient and wait your turn, and yes it sucks, but until you have actually spoken to them and they have not agreed to help, they haven't done anything wrong!

And remember you'll catch way more flies with honey than vinegar, be polite, be reasonable, be patient, it always works best!

29 Dec 2010 11:03:56 AM: Another good tip, is put everything into an email and send it to them, of course as pointed out on this site you may not get an answer in a hurry, but it is still a log of information outlaying your problems, send a copy to yourself so you have a record, it will all add levity to your cause!

There is no point me owning an iPhone when I cant even use it due to the lack of reception. I have been with Vodafone since obtaining my first mobile phone (nearly 20 years ago ! ouch!). Upon relocating to BRISBANE 10 years ago - yes the QLD capital where you would think we would have coverage - I have none & I'm located within 10kms of the CBD.
I have asked several staff at Vodafone why the issue in this area and the latest staff member asked "what type of roof do I have" !!!! Apparently the type of roof I have affects the coverage in my house. Not sure why that would then affect the service OUTSIDE the house !!
I would love to upgrade my phone to an iphone but can't really see the point when we don't get coverage.
I've had numerous other issues during my time with Vodafone - don't get me started...

8046 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is The Worst at 29 Dec 2010 07:58:57 AM
Had numerous connection problems in my area. For the wife to be able to send or receive a text, and for her phone to even ring inside the house had to turn off 3G. Used to have wireless internet with them, got rid of it never worked. Had a problem with a handset, sent it away only to be told that it got water inside it. Phone was never dropped or exposed to water. Live in a tropical environment, i.e. high humidity, cause corrosion on an extenal connection. This is apparently classed as water ingress to phone. Warranty voided on the phone. Still have over 12 months to go on contract so had to stick with it as it would cost too much to get out of the contract. Was offered a handset upgrade for a reduced amount. This deal was sent out by the marketing department of Vodafone. I could either go into the store or ring a number to be able to take them up on this offer. Tried to go to the store, they were unable to do the upgrade and was told to ring the number on the offer. Rang them they didn't even know about the offer and said they couldn't do it. After ringing them again a few more times, finally got onto a guy that looked at the list issued from the marketing department which had my number on it so I was able to then get the deal. Did the order then waited 2 weeks for the new phone to arrive. It didn't. Rang them again and the order had apparently failed, they didn't think to notify me of this at all. Rang to sort it out and was told that it was sorted. Waitied another 2 weeks. still no phone. Rang them again to find out that the order had failed again. Finally spoke to someone and had that ordered cancelled and was told to go into the store pick get on from there. After 3 more days waiting for the order to cancel, managed to get a new phone, after almost 5 weeks fo trying to sort it out, really neede a functioning phone. 1 week after having the new phone received a handset in the mail. Rang them yet again and they couldn't work out what had happened let alone understand what the problem was. They send me a reply paid envelope to return the handset. Didn't even receive the envelope and received a bill to get charged the full amount for the extra unwanted handset. Extra handest was sent back to them UNOPENED. So I am about to ring Vodafail yet again to try to get this sorted before they direct debit my bill.

NOT VERY IMPRESSED VODAFONE, LIFT YOUR GAME AND STOP TAKING AUSTRALIAN FOR A RIDE!!!!

29 Dec 2010 11:18:29 AM: it's probably because the Sony is worth more and costs more on that plan, that be the case, would be the same with any phone company.

I have used Vodafone as a business phone now for just on 2 years as they had the best business plan.In this time I have experienced numerous dropouts daily in the middle of Gold Coast, Brisbane, right up the east coast of Qld, when i go out west to work I have to take a Telstra pre paid so I can get work sent to me. When complaining to Vodafone all they do is say we have to do an investigation which they have already done at least 4 of & low & behold they have no record of them. I have also experienced drop outs in Sydney CBD as well as Melbourne Airport & Dandenong.

Well, i was with Three Mobile (yes I know theyre affiliated)i was living in the Salisbury area (5018) and I had coverage issues. They suggested I change to Vodafone for better coverage & it showed me on a online map that I would have full coverage in that area so i signed up to a 24 month plan. I found that the coverage was NO better (if not worse) and whenever I try to contact their customer centre for ANY enquiries im on hold for at least 40 minutes!!!!! they tell me this is because of the high demand for the iPhone... pfft what a load. The technicians & service agents I speak to are soo novice and the people in the actual stores are no better. I wish I had stayed with three, theyre cheaper, easier to get in contact with & much more customer focused. I was with them for 4 years before I changed & iv regretted it ever since :(

I live 10 minutes from the the centre of Cairns. Yet everytime I make or take a call at home, (ground flr unit block)I have to race outside trying not to break my neck at the same time and stand outside usually in my underwear to speak to anyone. I'm sure all near by tenants and the caravan park behind us all the inner workings of my day 2 day business. It also rains a lot in Cairns so I find myself cursing Vodaphone on a daily basis. If I didn't just print a 1000 business cards I would ditch Vodaphone at the first opportunity, I'm seriously considering throwing the business cards in the bin!
29 Dec 2010 09:49:39 AM: You can port the phone to another service provider and keep the number. Then you wouldnt have to worry about the business card cost, you could still use them. Ask any other service provider and they can give you the details.

Signed to Vodafone because they had exclusive on phone, but
1. Get hardly any service,
2. Calls drop,
3. Sms take hours to go through, (and come back)
4. Calls to 1555 are 3 hours long, go around and around being transferred from one department to another, and are an exercise in futility.

Vodafone has setup their entire operation as a stooge to deny problems and annoy customers with wild goose chases "you need a new sim", "you need a repair on your handset", we will do a coverage/network check" all for the sake of delaying the inevitable, and in the meantime for inconveniencing the customer who not only has to put with crap network, crap service and lies, now has to jump through paper hoops merely to entertain the Vodafail torture machine.

8029 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is NO SERVICE at 29 Dec 2010 07:29:42 AM
That seems to be the only signal I ever get on my phone. When I am lucky I will have 1 bar, however if I move less than a metre from the kitchen table to the kitchen bench, it drops out, starts searching and you guessed it NO SERVICE comes up yet again. I've also had enough of the poor customer service, if I'm able to get through. I recently moved to a rural property where having phone reception is essential so I enquired into how I could get out of my contract. I was told I'd need to stay in my contract and to go to the next suburb to get reception and make my calls. The next suburb? I'm on a rural property, there is no next suburb, the next town in 30 minutes away and I'm not driving 30 minutes to make a phone call. I just pray that we never face an emergency, Vodafone won't be there to help.

8028 Someone from TAS thinks vodafone is Big Con at 29 Dec 2010 07:24:46 AM
I live in Youngtown a suburb of Launceston the second largest city in the state and regularly coverage for my I-Phone drops out. All my other services are with Telstra (broadband, wife's mobile, landline & fax) and I wished I hadn't signed up to Vodafone for a two year contract in Jan'10. Definitely will not be re-newing at contract end. Reception in CBD Melbourne & Sydney is fantastic but as soon as you go regional areas the signal is crap & prone to disappear. I was conned on the quality of the reception in an around Launceston when I signed up. I can be within 2km of Launceston CBD and have no signal. About a month after I signed up their customer service rang me to get feedback & I gave them a blast. The caller immediately implemented a $10 monthly credit to my account. Surely this is an admission of problems on their end. The constant delays (sometimes days) in receiving SMS & Voicemail is a shocking state of affairs as the mobile is my main point of contact for communication with my clients. If I could get out my contract now without being penalised I would do so it in a flash.

Hack
29 Dec 2010 07:40:48 AM: Great post. Adds much to the debate but doesn't distract from the issue at hand. Vodafone are providing substandard services (if any service at all). I paid $39.95 a month for 24 months for a usb dangle that hardly ever worked. I live 150 metres from the store that sold it to me. That same store admitted, after 15 months, that there were issues with 3g coverage in my area and always had been. I was misled. And stupid for not understanding my rights. But now people will have the info they need. God bless Vodafail.com

I have been a Vodafone user for over 10 years, when we moved to another area I found that they did not cover this area, I rang them so many times to ask why I could not get coverage in my area, I was giving so many reasons as to why I could not get coverage, also I found the operators to be very rude and even some of them hung the phone up on me. The last call I made to Vodafone to asked when they were going to give phone coverage in my area, the operator then asked me why I was not using my mobile to contact them (I laughed at this statement) and informed the operator that I had no coverage to be able to ring them or anybody else, after being transferred to so many different operators and then they hung up and the call was disconnected. I just gave up, a few days later we were in an area that had coverage I tried to use my mobile and to my shock I found that Vodafone had disconnected my phone completely. I rang them from a landline and asked why my mobile had been disconnected and the operator informed me that I had asked for cancellation of my service, I informed the operator that I had not asked for any such thing and to connect my service immediately, it then took Vodafone several days to reconnect my service back.

I thought after moving to Australia the vodafone service would be much better but it is same here, its very frustrating having calls dropped, and when you surf the net on the 3G network it is so slow you cant do much, i was told when i signed up my contract on vodafone here in Aussie that it was a better service to NZ, well i cant see any change. Assumption after assumption, you people need to get your facts straight before you just start making claims of what your problem is and why!

No 3 and Voda aren't using the same network it's not as simple as just flicking a switch, if you are having 3 problems then it has nothing to do with the voda problems

Yes transact use vodafone, but that doesn't mean that vodafone dictate your billing, if your having transact billing problems, speak to transact, you dont go to telstra if you are having optus problem just cause they lease their lines.

No you cant just leave your contracts, even if its not working, no matter how long it takes, you have to speak to customer care, says Graeme Samuels Chairman of the ACCC (WA today 17th dec 2010)

The Australian Approved Standard for the failure rate of electronic products and services is 3%-5%, what is represented here is about 0.25% of there customer base.

29 Dec 2010 07:36:52 AM: You can't leave your contract. But if hundreds and thousands stopped making payments, I wonder what Vodafone would do about that.
29 Dec 2010 07:42:30 AM: you'll wreck your credit file, and Vodafone won't have done anything wrong, a contract is a contract! you still need to follow the ACCC recommendations no matter how shit it seems!
29 Dec 2010 08:29:36 AM: .........."what is represented here is about 0.25 percent of there [sic] customer base"..............but that representation is growing all the time...........

I also had to chase Vodafone to actually obtain my cap bonuses that should have been applied upon the activation of te account. I am still chasing my bonus credit from the purchase of an eligible Android phone that should have been given to me on my 3rd bill. I am now approaching my 5th bill with no credit bonus.
Being placed on hold for up to 50 minutes at a time to talk to a service consultant and then to be passed on from one department to another.
Not good enough.

To dear vodaphone if you were talking to someone on the phone and your phone constantly drops out after 1 minute on a number of occasions what would you do? Your friends had something very important to tell you but you got there message a few days later and even there voice mail ? Don't receive text messages when the person next to you sends you one ? Your phone has full service but goes strait to voice mail ? Yes the settings are all correct. Ring the customer service line and wait for a rediculas amount of time and not being racist have not much knowledge that people do work and can't go to the apple store to get phone checked I don't see what for but anyway problem not solved as you can cleary see it's a network problem not the phone, anyway vodaphone how would you deal with all this ? How would you feel? What would you do ? Do you feel as though your not a satisfied paying customer that signed a contract your following but the other party is not providing to the satisfaction of the customer ? Many people are leaving or have left Vodafone already.

Strange thing is, with call volumes down, the network still doesn't work.

I also wouldn't put it past Vodafone that their plan was to actually get some of their customers to leave so as to be able to better service the remainder. Vodafone would still win due to break fees.

But I don't think they counted on all this publicity.
Oh, to be a fly on the wall of the Vodafone CFO's office. With all these people leaving, the network upgrade will cease to generate a viable return on investment. Contingency should then kick in leading to a cancellation of network upgrades. This will leave everyone in the same mess.

Perhaps Vodafone is on the way to a spectacular public failure?

8001 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Shocking service! at 29 Dec 2010 07:01:13 AM
I live in South Qld and at 11 pm last night (28th Dec) received a text and photo that was sent from Townsville at around lunchtime on 24th Dec. A few hours earlier I had received one that was sent from Melbourne on Christmas Day (25th) at about 10.00 am. I have been with Vodafone for many years and signed up for a further 2 years as we were travelling after I was told that their coverage would see that we were contactable in all but a VERY small area of our route. We subsequently discovered that we had no service in a wide area of north western Victoria and over the border into NSW. We could not even get service in many areas up the east coast of Queensland where we were told we'd be fully covered. We had to locate public telephones to let our family know where we were so that they would know we were safe.

8000 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is theft at 29 Dec 2010 07:01:07 AM
I am not a vodafone customer (thankfully) but found four unauthorised withdrawals by vodafone against my credit card. After 45 minutes with call centre staff in India who continued to try to blame me for giving out my credit card number to strangers, I was transferred me four times to other staff and was told variously: that if i took my bank statement to any vodafone store i would receive an immediate refund; that the next person i was being directed to would make an immediate refund; that (by the next person) it was impossible for anyone to authorise a refund; that the help desk had no contact with vodafone in Australia and had no way of contacting them or getting a message to them; and that vodafone's fraud department would deal with the matter but I could not be given the fraud departments number, because even the staff didn't have it, but i would be copied in on an email to the fraud department.
Vodafone, your help desk staff function only to wear customers down until they give up. Thankfully the Commonwealth Banks' Australian helpdesk had the matter resolved (from my end) in hours.
Vodafone you are a thief, a cheat and liar.

7997 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is No Reception! at 29 Dec 2010 06:59:15 AM
No reception where I am despite being told that coverage in my area was fine. Ripped off, every time you ask you get told..."they've just done some work on the towers...give it a couple of days and it should be right again".

Fail.

7995 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is mislead. at 29 Dec 2010 06:53:39 AM
Purchased a Vodaphone $65 plan and $15 phone plan on 24/12/10. I was not made aware of any of the network problems Vodaphone are having, and I feel I have been misled by this non disclosure. It is now 29/12/10 and have already experienced failed reception in Jamberoo and Shellharbour. Is there a cooling off period that would allow me to cancel the plan with no firther costs. ?
I would be prepared to pay for the IP4.
29 Dec 2010 07:55:25 AM: NO STUPID!
29 Dec 2010 08:07:28 AM: It's a straightforward question that was asked and to have a complete idiot like you say "no stupid" really shows who is the STUPID one here!!!!
Bloody armchair experts - pissoff!

7994 Someone from SA thinks vodafone is Worst Customer service ever at 29 Dec 2010 06:52:03 AM
Vodaphone sent me a Dongle for wireless internet. I've already got internet through 3 mobile. They've sent me 4 bills averaging between $20 and $130 and I've never even opened the box and activated it. I've since sent the package back and to my suprise...another bill. How many times do i have to tell Customer Service that I have never had an internet account with them and never will. I never with any other company been put on hold for over 45 minutes 5 times in a row. Vodaphone s*ck and i'd never use them, I've also told my friends of my experience and they will never use them now either.

7993 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is watching at 29 Dec 2010 06:51:55 AM
If people pay their Vodafone contracts monthly, for a deal that is not fit for service, then they should open an account with another service provider and refuse to go on paying on their unconscionable Vodafone contracts (except for the bit that covers the hardware, if any).

There is safety in numbers, if a few tens of thousands of Vodafone subscribers did this.

If Vodafone pursues all their defaulting customers then they would choke any small debts tribunal for years to come and get ongoing bad publicity.

29 Dec 2010 08:10:46 AM: Good point!

7992 Someone from ACT thinks vodafone is Slow poor reception at 29 Dec 2010 06:51:16 AM
Very poor phone reception with continual drop outs, No internet access from home, and I am receiving text messages at 1am that were sent at 9.00pm.
As I live in a major city I would think coverage would not be a problem my husband has a Telstra phone and has no problems anyware in town.
They have not delivered on what I signed up for, I will not get sucked in and ripped off by this company again and neither will my family and freind's.
Pathetic!!!!
