26 Mar 2012 - Update Highest Rated Pain Stories Highest Rated Gain Stories Vodafail Local Facebook Page
Dear visitor,

Since its inception Vodafail.com has made a significant contribution towards raising awareness of the problems and issues faced by Vodafone customers.

Vodafone Australia customers have had the opportunity to voice their concerns, their fears and their troubles from every corner of Australia and beyond our borders. You have gathered the courage to stand up for your rights as consumers and to make your voice heard.

Each and every person who shared their story should have a sense of pride in this achievement and the changes that have occurred since the start of Vodafail.com.

More recently, traffic to Vodafail.com has declined significantly. Having achieved the goal of raising awareness and promoting concrete action in early 2011, we have now reached the point of closing Vodafail to new complaints. The site will remain online for as long as possible as a reminder and an example of what is possible when we share our experiences.

It has been a privilege to run this initiative and I'm am forever grateful for the help and support I've received. In particular I would like to thank Melissa, David and Travis for their continued efforts over the past 15 months. I'm also thankful and humbled by the support of ACCAN, Choice magazine and a wide range of media outlets, blogs and websites.

You can still browse existing stories and find out how to file a complaint if you are experiencing problems.

Until next time,

Adam Brimo

had vodafone for 4 years now, and without being silly i have to say there reception is dumb! i might as well stand on a hill and yell to my friends , because i can honestly get zero reception all the time , seriously , ok so to make a call or send a txt i have to go stand in the far corner of my kitchen holding my phone up toward the window, ive had missed calls from employers , dropped calls from potential employers , girlfriends , the amount of times ive heard,,"why do u allways hang up on me?" , or why do u never answer ur phone? , etc, rediculous! vodafone suck!!!!

5545 Someone from WA thinks vodafone is crap at 27 Dec 2010 10:50:25 PM
I rely on my phone for business. Was with 3 and out of contract for 2 years, but never completely happy with their service in the country areas. Vodafone contacted me less than 2 months ago. Advised of merger with 3 and how they were able to provide better coverage. What crap! Now I struggle to get a signal in my own home. Now get call dropouts I never before encountered. After hours on phone to call centre was advised the towers would be upgraded as part of the National Upgrade, but no idea when. Vodafone is spending money like mad on advertising and sponsoring sporting events, sucking more people in - but doing nothing about fixing its service - only providing weak excuses. Went and signed back up with Telstra today!

I bought iphone with a 24 months contract, besides the drop out my callers could not hear me unless i used the earphones.went to Vodafone where i got the iphone and related my problem.since the insurance was out, i was told that if i paid $45 they would put it for service and they (vodafone) advice me on the cost of repair, waited 3 week, decided to checkon the iphone it was ready for collection, when i did get my iphone it was not repaired and there was no comments on it, so where did my money go to and for what ,for keeping my iphone in a safe .I did not have phone for three weeks, as i dont own a extra mobil phone
I still had to pay my monthly dues.

5543 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Crap service at 27 Dec 2010 10:49:29 PM
Calls dropping out within a couple minutes of a call. SMS messages not sending straight away. The receiver of my SMS getting them at all hours of the morning.
The bars of service on my phone goes from four to none in a space of a few minutes. Crap Internet on my phone. Overall not happy. Crap, crap, crap.
What's the point of paying for these troubles?

5542 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Extremely at 27 Dec 2010 10:49:22 PM
I joined Vodafone as I was fed up with Optus and was advised that the coverage was impecable. Six weeks in and all I have been offered is disappointment. Mid phone conversation it hangs up, and then takes the phone longer than normal to reset. I have almost given up on bothering using my phone, which means I am wasting my money and fear that if I am put in a situation I will not be able to make a call that could be life saving. I should have gone to Telstra like I initially was going to do. Regret !!!

omg lately its been awful, talking to my daughter the line just keeps on cutting out, i can hear her but she cannot hear me from my side of the line.
also if i receive a call it picks up but either line is able to hear each other so then either of us needs to hang up and call again, it does this twice before it works....

5540 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Poor at 27 Dec 2010 10:49:21 PM
No mobile data for 2 days error msg 'unable to connect to server', haven't been able to make outgoing calls or sms for same period error msg 'call barring activated on service/account' - checked settings on ph. definitely not by me. Thinking problem would be rectified asap I put up with until rang '1555' (can only call Voda) 5pm this arv left msg for callback still waiting 12mn. Been fighting 2+mths for call credits to be applied - everytime I ring to ? I get a new excuse or fobbed off - nobody ever records customer call notes - this dates back to deal advertised at time/promises that influenced me to change network to Voda. Also Voda USB modem has v poor reception in my Nth Sydney unit - rarely able to video stream even 240p. When I called customer care was told that as long as reception has 1 bar this is acceptable to voda + speed issues due to using internet at peak times. Thanks voda I'll try + avoid watching any videos during your 7am-10pm peak times. 2 bills auto paid to date 1 over, 1 under - can't trust. Live in hope of improvements - only 21 months to go.

5539 Someone from ACT thinks vodafone is I can't tell how fail it is, most of you shouldn't have been issued with pen licenses in the first place. at 27 Dec 2010 10:49:19 PM
A shame to see so many frustrated people, however from the perspective of a slight nerd - If you research a purchase you'll generally have a vastly more pleasant experience!

EXAMPLE:

The utter stupidity about complaining about the quality of online gaming using a USB dongle puzzles me. Everybody who can google search can find out the average ping of a mobile broadband device, and can see that Telstra can't even provide suitable speeds (on mobile broadband devices) for this pursuit. Hi ADSL2+.

People who think the Vodafone network (or any mobile network) is anything similar to the balloon full of words in the Vodafone 'infinite' plans ad need to do some reading. Congestion in South Melbourne does not influence the northern suburbs, as such a cable unplugging in Perth almost certainly has nothing to do with your (potentially valid!) problem.

I use TPG and Vodafone, TPG has no retail contact, only an offshore call centre. I do not enter Vodafone retail stores (webshop has delivery and a discount- why line up getting angry?), I attempted to contact the Vodafone call centre on ONCE before discovering that dialling ##002# cancels call diverts. I guess what I'm saying is if you want a premium product, you should pay for a premium product - with it often comes premium service.

Apart from that, I would like to suggest that if the complaint includes the term "Vodaphone" the comment should also be removed because this person clearly isn't fit to be engaging in public discourse.

Finally if you DO have a valid complaint- keep up the crying, its sad that this works (see Optus after launching the iPhone 3G and the now (relative) success of the "Open Network") but it will lead to VODAPHONE hopefully addressing it and I look forward to the network upgrades. (If you're reading Nigel, WHAT ABOUT AN LTE NETWORK PLZPLZPLZ)

Thanks for reading my comment, and thanks for a hilarious bit of reading if you already posted :-)

I pay $49 per month for mobile broadband. During a good week I am able to access my yahoo mail 3 times a week. When I do manage to access yahoo, I am not able to open and read my emails. While restarting and struggling to do so or to simply do some internet surfing, the reception simply cuts out and I am disconnected just to find myself starting all over again. I am not able to skype with my family and friends in Europe because the broadband reception is too poor. I have to go to a friend to skype from her computer. I also have the $49 phone deal so it is not as if I am utilising their cheapest plans either. These have been consistent issues since I got my internet and have tried in vain to find some logical explanation and compensation - always just the response by way of an apology. Something drastic needs to be done, and soon. I also have a small online business which is almost non existent due to the lack of efficient and trustworthy internet connection.

I to have experienced terrible reception and friends and my children telling me my phone is swiched off when its not. I can make calls but friends are constantly telling me my phone is switched off. I have the phone line drop in and out the speaker on the phone is distorted my daughters phone which he has only had for a couple of months works one minute and not the next. I am so sick of paying for a dodgey service provider. They are so slow at updating our cap spend that we always go over and when they say it gets recharged on a certain day they charge us for any extra calls encurded on that day before the cap is renewed.

When I call I get the recorded bitch which frustrates me, I have sent numerous emails but no satisfaction. Not to mention they have me on some vodafone live for the mobiles at $9 a pop which I never asked for and am still waiting for them to get back to me. My biggest problem is I renewed the contracts in October, cant wait to get out. Paul Geran

i also have an iphone with vodafone... i have shared in most of the same problems as other people on this site... calls drop out, no service, messages that have been sent but not recieved, trying to contact the fault line and having to talk to that useless bloody answering machine 'lara', getting hand balled to some indian call centre where the people are barely understandable!!
but when i rang the new contracts number... i was put straight through!! who would have guessed!! the MOST SHOCKING CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER HAD!! shame on you vodafone... you deserve to lose business!!

Cannot get reception even though both my parents and sister, who are with telstra and optus, have reception in the same area. Phonecalls randomly dropout as well as reception. Tried contacting them via web and had a response saying that it will be investigated. Had a few calls, some of which I couldn't answer due to reception, and was ultimately told that there was nothing they could do for me.

I am with 3 now merged with Vodafone.
Hugely unimpressed with the fact we used to roamunder Telstra and since being bought out by Vodafone, me and my partner may aswell have no reception!
First of all, we weren't even informed there would be a merger, because if we were I sure wouldn't have had renewed my contract only weeks before it took place!
When i went into a store to ask about another new phone to replace the new one i had just got, i was met with "Oh it isprobably because of the merge to Vodafone....Oh, i wasn't meant to tell you that". Nice, the long trem customers weren't even kept in the loop, nor given the choice to leave at end of contract.

Secondly we have called 3/Vodafone and complained to some overseas, non-fluent english speaking person who didn't even understand us, to be told our reception is fine and also got quite angry towards my husband, nice customer service! And I'm sure they can really tell from looking at a computer that we have good or bad reception.
The phone had dropped out numerous times before my husband could even get that far as to speak to a real person.
I sure hope we can all just get some sort of service with this distorted company.

I have a pocket wifi modem which I have had for about two months, worked ok in Adelaide but absolute crap in Cairns. It says I am connected to the internet but I am unable to get on. What a joke!!! Have been able to reach customer service and they told me to take it to a Vodafone shop and see if I can get connection at the shop. Well of course it works there its in the CBD! Go outside of the CBD and it's just useless. The rare times that I manage to get a connection it's that slow and eventually will just hang there and drop out. I have 5 gig sitting there which I can't use. To my displeasure I have had to go to Bigpond to get the internet as we don't have access to a phone line. Come on Vodafone get your act together.

I'm sick of seeing corporate entities using pyramids and the numbers 666 in their logo designs, there is clearly something occult going on there and they are using this to control the masses.

Vodaphone uses 6 6 6 in alot of it's advertising, and it's time people woke up to this subtle yet powerful brainwashing.

a) i need to attempt to send a message NUMEROUS times because it won't send the first time (even if my phone says I have reception)
b) i drop out of reception ALL the time, and often have to switch my phone off and then on just to regain it because it won't automatically find it
c) internet on my iphone is slow
d) my phone will rarely call someone first up - it sits on the "calling" screen but doesn't do anything, leaving me to keep trying to hang up and try again - VERY stressful in a rushed moment/emergency
e) battery life on my iphone does not last a day - I'm not sure if this is an issue with the phone or if my constant issues stated above are draining the battery
f) due to the internet being slow etc i'm on there for longer increasing my phone bill

VERY disappointed, considering I have been with vodafone for 7 years!!

5513 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Rubbish at 27 Dec 2010 10:38:42 PM
I have been with vodafone for over 4 years now and only recently signed up to a 2 year contract (10 months ago) at first I had slight problems with my network in certain areas. Approx 6 mmonths ago I went overseas and put my phone on roaming for a few days. During that time I was unable to make calls or recieve any messages without switching my phone of and back on to recieve coverage for only 2 min. After I got back I tried to make it clear to customer service that there network did not provide me the service it promises and felt the need to be compensated, this however was ignored and in order to avoid the headache I paid the bill. Soon after that I was losing reception and calls were dropping out and to make matters worse I had no reception in my house at all. And it doesnt end there, to add to this failed promise of great service, calls would drop out and people would not be able to reach me as my phone was unavailable due to lack of reception.
I have spent numerous hours on the phone to customer service and at first my complaints were ignored. Infact on numerous ocassions whilst I was on the phone to Vodafone the call would drop out and yet that was not an enough excuse for them to assist me. Therefore I remained persistant and noted down any time I had no reception and anytime my calls would drop out. I was then told to get a sim change assuming that my new sim had a problem. So this was done anyway but the problem remained. eventually my network issues were investigated and in the mean time I made it clear that I would not be paying my bills untill I recieve the service promised by vodafone, I also asked to have my plan cancelled, however vodafone promised to have the network up and running properly again within the next month and that if this was not provided they would gladly cancel my plan. In the mean time, they credited me on my bills and I didnt pay 4 months worth of bills. Now they have credited me with $100 a month and I am expected to pay the difference even though the network problem is still there.

I have been with vodafone for 6-8 yrs, 2 of those yrs as a pre-paid customer and I am now onto my 2nd 2 yr contract. This year I have had so many problems, refunds that were granted to me and never given, then I would call "customer care" and they denied ever giving me a refund. I have spent hrs and hrs waiting and waiting on "Customer Care" and it has often dropped out. Everytime I answer the phone the call drops so either I or the person calling has to call again, many ppl do not get my text msgs, often voicmails come thru much later then they were received etc. I have recently changed to the infinite cap but I am now cautious about what the catch may be??? I will certainly support any action taken to gain compensation and to stop this company from ripping off any more loyal customers liek myself.

My network fails more consistently than it works. I reset the network up to 3 times a day, otherwise the sms' don't go through and calls can't be made or received. When I called vodaphone they blamed it on the phone, so I sent the phone in for repairs. It took 2 weeks for them to look at my phone (which I paid for bc Im on a contract) and nothing was found to be wrong with the phone. It's vodaphone. Vodaphone's crap. I'd be better off using telepathy as that works more often than vodaphone.

5506 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Fail to Activate Sim card at 27 Dec 2010 10:36:26 PM
Purchased package that included sim card with $10 credit and a mobile phone in June last year. After 7 days and numerous calls to Vodafone support the SIM card was still not activated. Went to Vodafone store and after waiting for 1 hour while staff member called their manager, I was told to wait longer without being given any indication of when it might be activated, with the staff member actually saying that it might be a faulty sim card and the staff member admitted that they thought the SIM card should be replaced with credit, but their manager did not allow it saying that if I wanted a quick activation I should buy a new sim card. After further waiting the sim card was still not activated, I had to buy a new one and lose the $10 credit for I couldn't wait forever without knowing when the activation would happen.

It was bad enough to have a faulty sim card, but, it was more disappointing that Vodafone wouldn't admit the problem and replace the sim card with the $10 credit. All the Vodafone members who I talked to over the phone said, 'why don't you just buy another sim card? It's only $2 in Woolworths. You're losing only $10 credit'. They didn't seem to understand that it's actually not my responsibility to fix it, but Vodafone.

A PAYPHONE PEOPLE

A PAYPHONE!!!

Plus i have to resend my text messages because they dont send, and dont get me started on the mobile broadband and internet on my phone.

I pay top dollar for 3rd world country service.

I have been a vodafone customer for almost 8 years. If they dont fix things, id rather get ripped off at telstra, at least I WONT NEED TO USE A PAYPHONE!

Vodafone promised me excellent coverage on a plan that costs me $99 a month for me, and $30 a month for my daughter. However, I have anything but. I doubt I use $10 a month on my phone, as reception is so poor I can't make phone calls from it, which leaves me having to make them from my home phone (which was what I was trying to avoid by taking up this plan). Not only that, on the odd occaision that I do get reception, the phone will drop out mid sentence, or start screaming a high pitched noise in my ear. I get no help from Vodafone over this issue, and 9/10 times, the person on the other end of the phone can't even say my name properly. Argh!

I've been with Vodafone nearly 10 years and always happy untill last few years. We went on a plan 3 months ago with my husband and ever since then, all calls were constantly droppong out and you couldnt hear the other person. i spent most my time walking around trying to get reception, we live in melbourne not in the country. Worst off all internet was so slow and past 4 days i've had no internet at all. we mainly got it as we have no internet in our new place and so we can do internet banling ect now i cant even pay bills... Constant errors appear and no internet coverage. my parents are really frustrated with the calls as well... We know a number of people who have had enough and i dont even wanna call customer service- its 2 hours waiting time plus transfered to the right dept and more waiting and in the end all i get is their having some dificulties and will be fixed soon... All load of crap- Most annoying LARA - half the time i have to call back cause she cant put me through the right people...

Back in May 2010 my phone dropped out, no coverage at all having a few spare mobiles i swapped my sim...into 5 different phones! NO coverage! My brother came over with his telstra phone n i called Vodafone to complain, they checked towers in my area etc etc all saying no problem, tried system resets on the 2 main phones etc no go then they proceeded to tell me it was my phones that were broken and id need to buy a new handset!! I waited the problem out till 1 by 1 over the span of about 4 months they came back into service, the handset i want to use still drops out for days at a time! Grrrr

Around Oct i started to get messages out of the blue saying 'transaction failed - insufficient funds' 4-5 times a day for no reason i had done nothing to cause this, i called Voda several times and after being on hold for over an hour each time they would hang up on me. I sent them several emails over the past few months to which i received no reply, i must say though funny how the messages have stopped in the last 2-3 days!!

Calls continually drop out ill have to call someone 2-3 times just to have a 5 min convo! Had enough swapping companies so this doesnt affect my business!!

as for not paying your "vodaphone" bill, you'll never get another phone/contract in your life (actually probably your daddy's; i'm assuming by your spelling that you're no older than 10) due to your terrible credit history.

True but only for some areas which Vodafone pay for. They select a few but leave most out of coverage... not good! Fail - I'll never use them again.

Every since 3 merged with Vodafone myself and my mum have been having problems with the phone continually dropping out, messages not being received by myself or others, the signal is terrible.
My last phone bill was huge due to having to keep re-calling people after the phone drops out; why should I have to pay for it.
My contract is up in a month I was told that 3 will be rebranded to vodafone. They are very persistent about me renewing my contract 3 different people calling me in the same day and even more phone calls over the past couple of weeks - I wish they would leave me alone! I think I will just go back to Telstra just wish they had better cap plans.
Im really over companies and there lack of customer service. Its all about the profits they can make!
Legal action is all they will listen too.
Also as far as im aware if they state you have reception in a certain area and then you dont this is enough to void your contract! A friend got out of their contract this way.

5494 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Bloody useless at 27 Dec 2010 10:28:48 PM
I spent one and half hours on the phone to VF the day I was due to fly out to a 7 week Eurotrip. I was trying to complain about 2 months of inexcusable reception on internet and phone (e.g. 20 mins of 'searching for a signal' in inner Sydney). After being on hold and being transferred numerous times they tell me the problem was I need to buy a new sim card!!! I told them I wanted 2 months free seeing as I pay them for a service they arent providing me with. They offered a $20 credit (2 months would be $140) and as I was waiting to speak to someone with authority to give me the 2 months free the phone cut out... wait for it... because of poor reception!!!
Now I am overseas and overjoyed to see this website and that I am not alone. My boyfriend and I have both had $300 bills from VF while OS due to data. Be warned - even when you are connected to free wifi some apps on iphone still use data - and VF does not tell you this as I followed all their instructions on how to aviod OS charges. When I get home I will be cancelling my contract (and making sure I am not penalised) seeing as they have broken our contract. BASTARDS!!!

There should be no reasons for this to happen.

Dear Lara.

If you are reading this than there is something I have been wanting to tell you for sometime now. It has been really difficult for me to come up with the right words to express how I feel. We've known each other for awhile now, and I think its pretty obvious that we have started to drift our separate ways. Its been a long hard road and I think its about time to call this thing quits. I don't think we could ever been friends again. I mean, after all I can never actually reach you. I'm always on hold & that annoying music you play drives me up the wall. So, I guess this is it. I think its best if we don't talk anymore. I have found someone else.

Sincerely,
J

p.s: I have cut up my sim card. You wont be able to reach me. Ha!.. I guess now you will know what it feels like to be barred, disconnected and kept on 'hold'.

5482 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Epic Fail at 27 Dec 2010 10:23:34 PM
This was the worst experience I've ever had.

I decided I wanted a new Iphone 4.
So I go to a store in elsternwick because I wanted to make sure that the plan I signed up for would include the bonus data as advertised. After I saw the representative use the website to place an internet order, I realise going to the store was a giant waste of time and I should have done it at home. I notice the guy enter my details twice, apparently a double deal they had going. I questioned him asking "I think doing that will order me 2 phones, I only want one", He assured me only one was getting ordered. I left the store, completely in doubt. So I call the Online Orders line, and after a 40 minute hold, get through. I ask to confirm that my order was for only 1 phone. Of course, it was for 2, and I had to go through the process of explaining to the online rep that it was the store rep's fault for stuffing it up.

The store rep told me it would take a maximum of 2 weeks for me to receive my iphone, 2 months later, I receive a card in the mail telling me it is ready to be picked up at Melbourne Airport. One lengthy roadtrip later, I am holding my Iphone.

When I turn it one, the Sim isn't recognized. So I attempt to call Customer service on my then current optus prepaid. 70 minutes later, I run out of credit and the call drops.

At this point I'd like to mention that ever customer service call followed the SAME LARA prompts/answers. What would you like to do? "Activate my SIM". Please provide your mobile number? "I don't have a mobile number because you haven't given me one". I'm sorry, please repeat that.
In the end, I just yelled CONNECT ME THROUGH TO AN OPERATOR until it eventually did.
And then the Operator would ask what my mobile number is, and all I could answer was "I don't know because you haven't given me one yet". Always greeted with stunned silence.

The next day, I go to a Vodafone store centre telling them of my problem. They let me use their phone to call customer service. After talking to lara, I finally get through to rep, only to have the call drop after I answered their initial "what is your name" question.

So I call back, after another 50 minutes on hold, the same thing happens.
I ask the store rep what is going on, He shrugs and says "They are having trouble with the phone lines, I should just try again later"

Optimistic, I go home, to look up the next nearest store to me. I make my way there and ask to use their phone to sort out this mess. Another 2 tries later, a total of 60 minutes on hold, and 2 dropped calls as soon as I was connected to a representative. Again, I ask the store assistants what is going wrong and they quite rudely tell me to go home and try it later.

The next day, I decided to buy more credit for my prepaid phone, hoping they had sorted their phone issues out. After half an hour on hold, and then being dropped as soon as I got through. I gave up for the rest of the day.

The next day (friday), I went to my parent's house (as they have a phone line - I didn't), and at 0930, nice and early, I call up tech support. This time (after 20 minutes on hold of course), I don't get dropped. And tell the representative what is happening. After a lengthy explanation that they haven't given me a mobile number yet and I need my SIM activated (which at this point I find out, isn't usually needed), I am told it will be operational in 20 minutes.

At 3pm, I call back, same deal, it will be ready in an hour.
At 4pm, I call back, again, it will be ready in half an hour (Support closed at 5pm).
At 4:30pm, I call back, and am on hold until 4:59, At which point, I am answered, and then hung up on due to closing time.

That monday, I go back to a store, and tell em my problem, and that they should ring up as a staff member to sort this problem out. (I was assuming they had some sort of priority line to skip the customer service queue - this is untrue). Eventually, I am told that my Credit check failed and that I would not be able to get an Iphone.

You mean this Iphone right here? - as I showed him what I was holding.
A mate of mine applied for the same plan + iphone, and was rejected on credit check (for some bizarre reason, his credit was fine).

So now I'm confused as to why I have been rejected, and yet still sent this iphone. I'm just about fed up and ready to leave (can you blame me?) - resolving to keep the iphone, unlock it, and go with a better telco, when the store rep rings up again, and this time tells me...

That my driver's licence number was input wrong.
He inputs it, and in 5 minutes, I'm connected.

It only took 2 months overdue, and a week of hassling to get my new iphone working and operational.
But now I get to experience the constant call dropouts, Data interruptions, crappy reception and horrible customer service Vodafone has to offer!

When my contract is up, NEVER AGAIN VODAFONE. NEVER AGAIN.
27 Dec 2010 10:32:06 PM: WOW!..thats just unbelievable
28 Dec 2010 12:00:15 AM: I really should have pushed for atleast 3 months free service or something, I think I was just ruined to resignation in the end :(

I'm with 3 ...which as we all know has joined with Vodafone.

- After 24months we ordered upgrades for our 2 mobile phones. Rather than upgrades they added 2 NEW NUMBERS to my account. After about 4 hours of phonecalls they finally accepted that it was their mistake and said that they will remove the 2 numbers from my 'next' bill.
- As one of the new phones ordered was an iphone, they were reluctant to let me keep my number...to do so, I had to buy a simcard from another company...transfer my number to that company and then fill out a 'porting form' and transfer it back to 3 (like I don't have better things to do with my time.)
- On top of that, as I'm on the old cap and they didn't upgrade it when they should of (Signed the 15th Nov. for the start of Dec 10) I'm currently having to pay for internet usage that I DON'T BELIEVE I SHOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR AS MY CAP SHOULD OF COMMENCED ON THE 10TH DEC NOT 10TH JAN!!

I love Vodafone, for the good deals they do, and good rates and everyone in my family and friend circle is on Vodafone or a branch of.
But the customer service is shit, and some of the staffers are quite rude, and alot of them are VERY hard to understand, and they don't seem to understand YOU.
But, I am getting SO sick of my phone dropping out mid conversation, not letting me call out saying "network busy" and having to wait for another like 10 mins before I can call, not getting voicemails, texts, and texts not sending and the like.
I've never before really had a problem, but, this has recently increased and it's getting very frustrating.
Especially when my boyfriend, who is in Scotland atm, stays up waits for my call and has to wait longer because we keep getting cut out or the "network is busy" or when he calls me and my "phone is off or out of range" when it is not.
Fix this Vodafone or lose a customer who has been with you for a LONG time and always praised you.

5468 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is epic fail at 27 Dec 2010 10:19:30 PM
well it really only has been happening for me in the last 6-8 months. I can sit in my lounge room on the goldcoast, and have no reception, but if i walk out side i have 1 bar, and if i go stand in the middle of the road, i get 3 bars, and thats after i have turned the 3g off on my phone, the numerous times i have had a call end with call fail message or the times i have called people only to have it not do anything for 30 secs only to have once again the call fail message on the screen come up, but worst of all was when i was on hold to them, after 15 mins it call failed only to call them back and be on hold for 1hr 45 mins, and the nice indian male spoke to me, and told me that they were upgrading the network thats why their is problems, and he did agree with me that i shouldnt be paying the amount i pay every month as they are not holding up to their end of the bargain, yeah i was shocked that one of their own workers said i should try and get out of the contract and someone will call me back the 26th of nov 2010 today is 27 dec and i am still waiting for that call!
28 Dec 2010 12:42:04 AM: I'm an Idependent ACN Representative,I understand how everyone are totally dissatisfied with the Vodafone phone, internet and customer service qualities. Our ACN customer services are incredible. You can reach them less than 10 mins pratically everytime. They are fast and effiecient and never transfer your call unlike Telstra or Optus as I heard, If you want to know more about us, contact me in my email at cengiz@acnrep.com I loves to turn UNHAPPY customer to HAPPY customer.

5467 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Huge, massive FAIL! at 27 Dec 2010 10:18:50 PM
I'm so happy that we're all uniting in our pain!!!
I've felt alone for so long now, Vodafone have left me stranded with drop outs, months & months to get my handset fixed whilst still paying the bills and more so, RUDE service after spending hours on the phone away from work. Their best recommendation was to graciously unlock my phone so that whilst driving around the state, I could change over my sim card into a phone & service that works whilst still driving, just to talk to a client and then, when back into an area with coverage, swap back over to my vodaphone card & phone (whilst still driving) to resume my service....and apparently, this was their best offer! So good to know that I'm not alone anymore.

5465 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is bad service at 27 Dec 2010 10:18:41 PM
Txts take days to arrive..drops out..no signal... Not long ago i spent hours of time over a few days trying to get through by phone for service when the online top-up facility wouldn't work. Numerous times after waiting for around half an hour on the line i just got cut off and then had to go through the whole Lara thing again. I sent a complaint using the web form for complaints but go no reply. After persevering with waiting i finally got through but then the line dropped out even while i was being assisted. In defense of the operator he was very helpful - not his fault he works for a terrible company. I imagine they treat their staff no better than their customers.

Half the time it tells me I am connected to the internet and but I am unable to get on. What a joke!!! Have been able to reach customer service and they tell me, they have been having trouble in the queensland area, come on, its been 2 months now and they keep telling me the same thing.. pull finger

All I ask for is coverage in Leongatha. Thousands of people live there, and 20km away in Korrumburra there is coverage. Korrunmburra is a hole though, I want to be able to make calls without having to go there.

5461 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Poorly at 27 Dec 2010 10:16:59 PM
I am so frustrated with the reception drop out! I was talking to my boss the other day and it cut out twice whilst in the middle of a conversation. How embarrassing. Another incident is it took me 20 minutes one day to make a call because it kept saying "call failure".

Its not because of a bad area that I was driving in because I have made calls in the same area before. Its really disappointing that such a large company would be having these problems but even more worrying is if we have to terminate our contract we have to pay cancellation fees handset fees....so thats not going to happen noway! This is why a website like this is very important.

5460 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is a bunch of disgraceful scammers. at 27 Dec 2010 10:16:24 PM
I didn't really feel the pain, more my friend.

A week or so ago my friend got a new phone on the vodafone network. He let me play with it for a while, so I checked moblie internet. No connection. He freaked out, checked all the settings and nothing was wrong. Tried again, still the same problem (we were in the Melbourne CBD by the way). I pulled out my phone (on 3) and 3g was working like a charm. He then decided to make a call, which obviously failed (hardcore).

5458 Someone from WA thinks vodafone is getting worse at 27 Dec 2010 10:15:54 PM
I started off with Vodafone 10odd years ago and was always extremely happy with their service, as well as customer service. I got the mobile broadband when that came out due to needing to travel with work- 2gig a month costing $70. Was happy to pay as I didn't need to much- and the freedom of wireless internet was what I needed. I was told it would be 3G coverage within a month. 18months of constant calls with them, due to receiving internet speeds of 5kb/sec on a good day the speeds finally came up to a more desirable speed. Not once did I receive accurate information from them on when the speeds would come up- nor any compensation for only receiving 1/4 of what I was paying for. Couldn't do anything as I was on a 2year contract....

In the last year- mobile coverage has also been terrible from home. Despite being 1km away from the nearest station and being well inside their "3G" coverage zone. Dropouts would occur every call, even with 4 bars signal still showing.

I recently moved and was moving into an area that would have no signal- so contacted them to see what I could do with my contract which still had time left. Bouncing around 5 different "service" centers, and over an hour on the phone I was told there was no option but to stay on the contract or cancel it. Despite bringing up the terrible service over the past year, and my 10years loyalty with them did nothing so I told them to stick it and begrudgingly paid the $1000+ to rid myself of them for ever.

The last year I know of a good dozen or so with the same stories, and this site shows the scale of it. Good to see something to stick it to them with!

5457 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is EPIC FAIL! at 27 Dec 2010 10:15:24 PM
For over 12months I have had to deal with txt's not sending and calls not being received. I usually turn my phone off and on at least 10 times a day, my biggest count so far is 32, I am in constant contact with friends, family and customers through txt's.
1555 - No help
In store - Sim Card change - achieved nothing
Now I can't even turn on 3g access or I get a 'No Service' msg. No 3g for me, even though thats what I pay for.

5455 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Loss of a 5yr relationship ...almost at 27 Dec 2010 10:15:05 PM
I tried to explain to my usually very understanding boyfriend of 5 years that I did in fact try to call him about an important matter...right in the heart of Sydney CBD..but kept getting NO NETWORK COVERAGE....for hours and hours. It was much later that night that it finally decided to connect. Sure sure he said...its just not possible and an argument followed as our communicating about something that day (relating to kids) was imperative. Thanks Vodafone for causing a rift between us and now I understand more. I shall direct him to this site and hopefully be absolved!!!!!

5450 Someone from WA thinks vodafone is Big Fail! at 27 Dec 2010 10:14:48 PM

My phone is all the time out of coverage. No service all the time and the reception
Has only got half a bar. It is rediculous. Sometimes my phonecalls fail in the middle
Of conversation. And my 3G network is horrible most of
The time it doesn't connect to anything. I changed from 3 company to Vodafone thinking it's better but looks like I've made the worst decision I went from bad to worse.
