Dear visitor,
Since its inception Vodafail.com has made a significant
contribution towards raising awareness of the problems and issues faced
by Vodafone customers.
Vodafone Australia customers have had the opportunity to voice their concerns, their fears and their troubles from every corner of Australia and beyond our borders.
You have gathered the courage to stand up for your rights as consumers and to make your voice heard.
Each and every person who shared their story should have a sense of pride in this achievement and the changes that have occurred since the start of Vodafail.com.
More recently, traffic to Vodafail.com has declined significantly.
Having achieved the goal of raising awareness and promoting concrete action in early 2011, we have now reached the point of closing Vodafail to new complaints.
The site will remain online for as long as possible as a
reminder and an example of what is possible when we share our experiences.
It has been a privilege to run this initiative
and I'm am forever grateful for the help and support I've received. In
particular I would like to thank Melissa, David and Travis for their
continued efforts over the past 15 months. I'm also thankful and humbled by the support of ACCAN, Choice magazine and a wide range of media outlets, blogs and websites.
You can still browse existing stories and find out how to file a complaint if you are experiencing problems.
Until next time,
Adam Brimo

17386 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is I'm pretty unhappy with my home reception at 26 Apr 2011 11:25:21 PM
I have resorted to using my home wireless account when I'm at home because I have very poor 3G, G & H reception where I live. I only signed up with vodafone because I really wanted the HTC Desire HD, which was exclusive on a plan with either VHA or 3. My home locality is not covered by the recent or proposed upgrades and that is unfair. Sure, they're giving me a discount on my monthly bill for three months, but then what? The problem hasn't been fixed yet. I'm not happy!

17383 Someone from SA thinks vodafone is Reception issues at 26 Apr 2011 10:58:07 PM
Me and my partner was with "3", (2x iPhone mobile packages). We have had nothing but problems ever since "3"/Vodafail merged. We are lucky to get 2 bars reception on both phones. We see Searching or Roaming more than anything. I phoned 3 customercare and was advised to reset my phones, upload the latest update on iTunes and it will work! Yeah right, so I called them back and complained, still couldn't resolve the issue. So today I really cracked it and demanded that both my mobile phone contracts end without me paying a cent" after a hour and half and the call dropping out, I was issued with ALL sorts of bonuses. 3 months free usage, unlock both phones, was even offered to go to Vodafail because "they" have much better reception on our street (the first time they admitted 3coverage was crap! All I demanded was both phones to end! Well after yelling and screaming my $1500 cancelation fees were dropped! And we keep the phones! And as a bonus I'm not paying for my "3" wireless modem for 6 months! ( strangely I haunt had a problem with that).
If you Demand and keep to it you can get this cancelled, frustrated that it took a hour and a half but the best phone call made yet! 3/Vodafail you are no good and I am now happier to pay that little bit extra and go with Telstra ! I have 4 other friends that are with Vodafail and guess what! They are experiencing the same problem and will be making the same phone call tomorrow.

6 May 2011 10:13:40 PM: Have just cracked the s%#ts with them for the umpteenth time in nearly a year and it looks like I'll be leaving them free of charge as the failed to disclose they have "coverage issues" in the area where I live, and as my home phone and internet are with Telstra, they will quite happily switch me over to them, upgrade my iPhone 3GS to and iPhone 4 AND give me $200.00 credit to help cover my newly merged bills!!! You did well without having to threaten to go to the TIO like I did before they started talking about cancelling my contract because of "lack of disclosure" BS!
17382 Someone from SA thinks vodafone is Failure at 26 Apr 2011 10:55:22 PM
Apart from recent inability to text and history of losing service for up to 4 days at a time, the coverage of vodafone is very poor in regional SA and if I travel I am constantly out of service, whereas my telstra friends have full coverage.
27 Apr 2011 09:30:47 AM: pay the telstra premium and stop complaining

Have had 3 months of "free" usage billed at full rate so have $1200.00 bill. Was told to get user under control and take responsibility for daughters use. Many of the txts are when I have the phone or she is at school and the phone at home. Can't explain, won't try.
Phone got barred and got told unless I paid $680 on the spot it wouldn't be lifted eventhough there was a billing error. I did that and now won't get that back because I've paid it. Can't wait to get onto another carrier.

I have a vodafone wireless modem, the usb modem and whenever I try to use internet, for few minutes pages load perfedtly and after few minutes the page just doesn't load and "web page cannot be loaded something like that message " keeps coming and even you refresh your browser pages does not load. Usually i have to disconnect and connect again and same thing repeats after and after. Useless bullshit, fraud. I am supposed to get good speed and continuous connection but to my frustration it is the same for months and months now. It is at granville nsw 2142 where vodafone is supposed to have good signal reception duh! I want my money back

While I tend not to have issues with coverage (other than in the black spot that is my house, but all telcos seem to have this problem). I do have a problem with the fact that I was not alerted to going over my cap or even coming close to it until it was $120 over. Hello $150 bill that a university student could only pay by asking Centrelink for an advance, I would've paid it off, but no doubt they would have charged some sort of interest on it or done something stupid like forget that I was on it and cut my service.

17371 Someone from SA thinks vodafone is unable to sms on 25.4.11 at 26 Apr 2011 10:16:23 PM
I have been with Vodafone for 31/2 years, and have put up with their failings, mainly because I detest telstra, a headless monster. My main issue is lack of coverage, living in regional SA. But there have been several occasions when I have gone for up to 4 days with no service and no customer satisfaction either.
30 Apr 2011 09:08:30 PM: If you live in regional SA then through no fault of Vodafone do you have no coverage. They would have advised you coverage could not be guaranteed in regional areas, and if they didn't then you should have researched your area with the tools they provide on the Vodafone site. You have already implied that Telstra has better coverage in your area, so agreeing to go with Vodafone only shows you agreed to take the risk with Vodafone's patchy regional service. If you don't like it, follow the albeit lengthy process and have yourself disconnected at not cost to yourself. Just be aware that they have to fulfill certain obligations of their own before they will release you free of charge.

17369 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Epic FAIL at 26 Apr 2011 10:06:06 PM
I sent a complaint via email to Vodaphone on Sunday afternoon regarding the issues that I was having with sending text messages. I tried calling as well but after being on hold for 40 mins I decided to give the web a shot.
Firstly, I did not have access to my laptop at the time so I logged on to Safari on my Iphone, typed in www.vodafone.com.au - this did not take me directly to their normal webpage but instead to some other vodafone site that I guess was made specifically for mobiles.... it was useless, at this point I didnt want to read about the latest football scores or what not, but there was nothing on this site about how to contact vodafone, there was also nothing on this site about the issue with the network... This was probably at around 4.00pm that I was looking at the site, an hour or something after the issue began. There was a small link down the bottom of the page that read 'full site' I clicked on it and it took me to the normal vodafone website. Whilst I was happy with this, I wasted a considerable amount of time trying to find the email function.
I sent an email asking what was happening and that I was sick of the constant issues that I was having with my network and asked for information about how to get out of my contract possibily without fees being incurred. I basically had a bit of a vent as well about how frustrating this company is to deal with.
I got an automated response that must have just picked out the part about wanting out of my contract. the information was useless to me and didn't really answer my enquiry, so I sent a response back saying that they had failed to answer my questions. About 5 mins later I received another email back that was basically from whoever the poor person was that was answering all of the emails that was basically a cut and paste spiel about yes, they have identified the issue and are in the process of resolving it..... Yet again they failed to answer my enquiries.... so I gave up.

I have lost calls and SMS's that never came through. i have reception problems both at work and at home. I am sick of the phone calls dropping out - never had this problem with 3 and I was told Vodafone used the same network. Was I lied to??? I also have inetrenet and Android market connection fail regularly. I have a great phone (latest technology) that at times is useless to me. Come on Vodafone get sorted!!!
26 Apr 2011 10:36:04 PM: They use different networks. They are able to change you back to 3 if you report the fault to Vodafone.
17367 Someone from SA thinks vodafone is Failtastic! at 26 Apr 2011 10:03:36 PM
A few months ago for around about a week, most of my calls to my parent's Vodaphone mobile resulted in one sided conversations or tied lines with other people's conversations. I was able to listen in to one side of several different conversations. Luckily there was nothing too private that I came across, apart from someone talking about an insurance claim.
30 Apr 2011 09:10:53 PM: You will probably find that your sim card is faulty. Head in to a store and they will replace it at no cost. Simply make sure your contacts are either saved to your phone or swapped to the new sim card. The number will be carried across within a minute.

i recently changed from 3 to 3'dafone and still i can sit in a cafe in mt lawley (2.5k from the Perth CBD) and yet i have NO signal. this continues throughout inner city suburbs as well as some outer.
when i complained to three about their network, they suggested i switch to vodafone as it had a better network. this is NOT the case at all.
i am fed up with both 3 and vodafone and will be paying out my contract early so that i can go with a decent telco.

I live in Beaumaris and the reception at my house is virtually non exixtent. Poor considering I'm on a 24month contract
17357 Someone from SA thinks vodafone is Four complaints in one at 26 Apr 2011 09:26:31 PM
One: For all the money Vodafone wastes on sending apology letters, spend it on fixing the damn connectivity issues! Two: How does free SMS for one day help me when I'm on an unlimited plan? Three: All of my online gaming friends have given up playing against me as they are sick to death of me dropping out all the time. Four: Explain how I can be in the hold queue on one phone, yet after 20 minutes of waiting I use another phone to call Vodafone and get straight through??? I am in Morphett Vale. Hardly a rural area.
30 Apr 2011 09:20:09 PM: One: They are putting enormous amounts of money into installing 850 GHz towers in order to boost their service, however sending apology letters is a necessity in order to ensure their customers are away they're making mistakes but are doing their best to rectify them. Both are necessary to a working business. Two: If you aren't able to send an SMS then be more social and make a phone call, given you're on an infinite cap it wouldn't cost you a thing anyway. If it wasn't worth making a phone call for then it wasn't worth the worry. Three: It wouldn't be advised that you use your vodafone internet connection to play online games as the connection isn't designed for that sort of usage. Not only is the connection run through the mobile towers, but the device itself only runs up to (and this is if you have the more expensive device) 3 Megbits per second - compared to your average landline broadband running at up to 12 Megabits per second, you should have really done some research if that's what you were looking for in your internet. Four: The waiting queue for the call centre isn't exactly a 'line' as you're assigned to a group of customer care attendants rather than the next free person out of the entire centre, meaning the two calls would have been in different groups.
17356 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is internet at 26 Apr 2011 09:25:29 PM
Since before xmas 2010 i have endured hundreds of mobile broadband drop-outs. many calls to vodafone and they have credited my account. I was promised by end March 11 the system failures would be fixed in 3170. Not so!! More calls to vodafone and then they stated i should wait another 7 days...which i did. Still NOT fixed. I was then given 3 months free usage and it's now 26/4 and at least the drop-outs have reduced now, but it's still not up to the standard I would expect to receive.
17355 Someone from WA thinks vodafone is $12.7bn operating profit in 2009/10 but no reception in Perth Metro at 26 Apr 2011 09:15:33 PM
I purchased a Vodafone mobile on a 24 month plan, paying almost $100 a month. The coverage maps on their website showed I would have reception throughout metro Perth, including my home, my office and all other places I frequent. The phone is used for business purposes, however I barely have any reception in my office (IN THE PERTH CBD), have no reception at home (5mins from THE PERTH CBD) and no reception in probably 50% of metropolitan Perth.
It is extremely embarrasing when speaking to an important client, discussing business transactions sometimes worth hundreds of thousands of dollars and having to call them back 3 or 4 times because the call drops out.
Considering they made $12.7bn operating profit last year, surely they can afford to provide an acceptable quality of service?
NOTE: I take no responsibility for the accuracy of any statements made on Vodafone's financial status.

17354 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Too many drop outs and no reception at 26 Apr 2011 09:14:18 PM
What annoys me is the fact that they can break the contract without a fine, but if we break the contract we have to pay. I have constant drops outs and no service, I am sick of talking to Lara (automated voice), and when I finally get to talk to someone, my phone drops out. As soon as my contract is up, I'm saying GOODBYE to Vodafail
27 Apr 2011 02:21:34 PM: How have they broken the contract though? Pretty sure there's no mention in the contract up providing 100% perfect service at all times. Hell no Telco offers that because they know it's not possible to provide that.
17353 Someone from WA thinks vodafone is EPIC FAIL at 26 Apr 2011 09:13:14 PM
I have been a Vodafone user for several years. Initially I made the switch because they offered more cost effective prepaid plans and it was the cheapest phone in the store at the time (It was a Vodafone Z28). For those years I had experienced few problems except occasional dropouts in reception, but I live in rural W.A. that is expected and once it happened during a major storm, again something that could be expected. However, fast forward to late 2010 early 2011 and I have several major issues occurring. Now I don't expect any technical system to not have occasional system failures, my IT friends tell me to expect it. They too are with Vodafone and think any serious system failure like those facing Vodafone are unacceptable. I find most concerning that for several years I had trouble free service with Vodafone, now it seems every month I have had at least one serious issue since December 2010. With regard to the latest failure I sent an email on the day (April 24 2011) this email highlighted my concern and requested some form of explanation whilst mentioning that if no satisfactory response could be delivered I would be seeking the services of another telecommunications provider. Now I accept it was a long weekend at the time so wasn't expecting a swift reply, yet today (April 26) my email service popped up with a read receipt saying it had been read at 11.00am now at 7.05pm I still have ha no reply. It is unacceptable for any company, especially one as large as Vodafone, to ignore any customer complaint if it is put in a concise, clear and inoffensive manner. At close of business on the April 29 if I have no satisfactory response, I will be changing provider and I will personally refuse to use any Vodafone network or device again. No company should be so inconsiderate to their customers as to not explain why there is a failure. My advice to Vodafone is this: Firstly, implement a system for notifying all users when and why there are system failures, Secondly, upgrade their systems to avoid serious system failures (glad to hear they are attempting this, but should I be forced to find this out through the media i.e. Today Tonight?) Lastly, having a customer service team that actually respects their customers. I have never got through to their customer service phone lines, as I can't bear hearing the music for more than 30 seconds, however I have heard several people saying that the service provide is inadequate. Vodafone needs to remember they are there to provide a service for us, failing to provide that service will mean we will go elsewhere, in the end bad service to us will mean less money for them.

When signing up my initial contract with Voda, I debated whether to go with $99 or $149 cap. Was told by phone staff - 'Go with the $149 cap as you can always make it lower if you would like.' 100% direct quote! Two months later, I go into my Voda store to have my cap lowered as $149 is proving WAY too much. Girl says "no worries" and I leave happy. Next bill arrives at just under $2000 - I clearly freak out and call Voda who tell me that is my payout fee. The girl at the store CANCELLED my contract, restarting me on the $99 one, rather than changing it. I am then told that you are NOT ALLOWED to change cap value within contract and there is "no chance you would have been told that by phone salesman," practically calling me a liar. Fortunately, much hassle and time on hold later, the cost of paying my contract out is waved, BUT they would not allow me to switch back down to $99, meaning I had to stay on the $149 cap, which was way too much for me, for another 24 months.

Dont even know were to start...
1)They cant get voice mail on my phone and they dont know why
2)cant get reception in my car, in my room, in my house, at my work place and when i need to get reception i need to take my sim card out and put it back in.
3)They bared my sim when all i wanted was roaming to go overseas, then had to go in to there shop to get a new sim card.. not to mention that i was on my way to the airport!!!!!!
4) every time i call them they tell me its my phone not there coverage... so i brought a new phone out right and it still dose not work
5)no one can talk english when you call then to find out why your phone is not working.
6) ask to be called back by there superviser ... this never happends
7)all ways pay my bill by the due date, didnt get my bill one time and was charged $10 and have called them 10 times and they tell me they have taken it off but it still on my bill.
why should i have to pay a late fee if my phone never works..i should ask for a credit every time i go to use my phone but have no reception?? or should i charge them for inconviance? i will alway blam them for not being able to get a call from my dad to say that my grandad had a heart attack (he died shortly after)
worst mistake of my life to go with this phone company

I have been a loyal Vodaphone - now Vodafail customer for over 14 years and have tired of giving them another chance to get things right. I operate my business through my mobile and over teh last year or so things have got totally unacceptable. I do not receive the majority of incoming calls as they go straight to my msg bank and I have to then not only pay to retrieve them I also have to call the client back. Another cost to my business. I have complained about this to Vodafail and have received nothing from them in the way of an apology or any acknowledgement of my complaints. To say that there is a "free" day really does not offer the copmpensation I am seeking. The last free day I was not able to make a single call or take advantage of it. I am now seeking compensation and will gladly join your class action to seek said compensation. Very dissatisfied and disappointed customer.

do i need to keep going.... ??? vodafone stop being gready and go back to the way you were 3/4 years ago where everything worked.

live in metro area of perth - can't get coverage, sms never get sent I always have to try and resend - constantly checking the bars on my phone so i can go right send now. My calls always drop out. I am on a 24 month contract
We complained to vodafone of course they have given us the next three months of the contact at half price. Very generous considering I am paying for an account that I can't use. Fortunately for us our contact ends in August for which we will move on to the next provider and hope we are provided with "service". I use this word very loosely

17340 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is NO Service Total Fail at 26 Apr 2011 08:55:45 PM
Purchased phone through Crazy Johns, service provider Vodaphone. I insisting I must have service in my area of Rochester Victoria. Told me on contract signing I have perfect service in area. When I get home discover NO service unless I travel either 30km north or 55km south out of town. Repeated contacts with company useless to the point of even being hung up from twice! Only support was to replace phone card! When I queried lack of service & them NOT honouring their requirements of the contract was told they would look into it and call me back. Not one return call recieved! Even though I made repeated inquiries. Got the same response. So I sSpoke to Ombudsmen who told my Not to pay bill (under time alloted- get service fixed) Instead of dealing with problem and providing decent service, contract cancelled and demand for full payment of contract handed to debit collection agency without my knowledge. Was repeeted hassled daily by extremely rude and demanding collection agency staff saying "YOU PAY - YOU PAY" then threatening me plus saying will take legal action! I am at the point I don't answer my phone unless I know the number/person calling. Vodapone (Crazy Johns) will no longer deal with me saying it is in the hands of the collection agency. The collection agency has since placed a 'black' mark on my credit reference file, which until this happened I had a perfect credit record! All I wanted was I service that worked! Then I'd happily pay. Not now.. Had enough. This is highway robbery and this sort of action cannot be legal let alone ethical. But I guess they have no ethics?

Im a fool for not doing my homework, lesson lernt.I spent 1 and half hrs on hold from custumer service and still diddnt talk to a person had to hang up cause phone went flat and i was furious. All summer the adds were on tv every add break they could get on, selling the test cricket live on vodafone (vodafail) for just a coupple of dollars and had Micheal Johnson and some players on the add having a great time using there phones and i thought that would be a cool idea to watch cricket on my phone so i went and got one.It never happened cause of the scam. They used the australian cricket team to sell there product to the genuine and honest viewers of Australia and we feel RIPPED OFF!!!!!Spent 4 weeks without a phone at christmass in mildura, country victoria a town with 60,000 plus people.Hopeless, unless u sleep in the gutter in the main street in a certain place. Well where do I start, apart from the breakdown of the SMS service and that day where there was no coverage what so ever.. The network is totally slow, so low that my friend can usually view a video or picture at least 10 to 15 times quicker on their network than mine. The coverage is so varied and annoying. Just the other day I was to meet a friend and when I sent him a text message to tell him where I am, the network dropped out which caused a huge inconvenience. Another time I couldn't contact my housemate to ask whether he would like some dinner from our favourite take away place. Yet I still pay the bills, I am paying for inconvenience.
17335 Someone from SA thinks vodafone is Incredibly fail at 26 Apr 2011 08:48:29 PM
I own an iPhone 4, and only about 50% of my calls actually connect, the other 50% are either sent to my voicemail if they are incoming calls, or I have to redial twice, sometimes three times before my call will go through. I have four bars of signal continuously throughout my house and I also have employed the use of the iPhone bumper. I don't understand how a network like this can fail so much in a technological world such as ours.
Additionally, I rang vodafone about this problem about 3 months ago, and they said that no fix would be available in the foreseeable future, but gave me 50% off of my phone bill (ironically).
Since then, the network status page has been updated to include my area in the list of "towers to be built in 2011".
However, no matter how good the reception is after they build the tower, I'll be leaving vodafone at the end of my contract, never to return again.

30 Apr 2011 09:26:11 PM: The fault you're experiencing is with the handset itself. The iPhone 4 has an operating system that can sometimes have trouble connecting to the network, though it can be dependent on the handset itself. It has something to do with the fact that the iPhone attempts to draw a great deal of bandwidth from your nearest towers, and when there isn't a great deal available it continues to try to its own demise. This can be proved by turning off 3G and cellular data in your network settings. You will find your reception will visibly improve. If you are willing, head into a store and have them send it away for repair on the basis of reception and network faults. The handset will more than likely be replaced, which will hopefully fix the problem. Unfortunately until the network is updated to cope with the fault it cannot be fixed.

Constant lack of service in Broome sometimes for several days, with no warning and no helpful information from the customer assistance line (usually very rude actually). Repeatedly told the mast was being made bigger to accommodate increased user numbers but after nearly 5 years of these interruptions in Broome (and 8 years with Vodafail) and no sign of a resolution I have given up and transfered to Telstra (despite the package being nowhere near as good pricewise). Very disappointing :(

I have no reception at the best of times in my house, then they have periods like Sunday arvo (24th April) with hours of no reception.
How many times is this going to happen?
Then they (Vodefone) think, they can make it up, by offering a day of free SMS on Sunday 1st May?
How is that going to fix the issue.
What happens if some one needed to call 000 on the 24/4 and couldnt get thru? What happened if some one dies, because of this?
Its very scary to know that you can not trust Vodefone. Even in an emergency situation.

Have been with Vodaphone for years & usually very happy, but not this time. Wanted to get in touch with my daughter whom I rarely get to see (due to distance) and was unable to wish her a Happy Easter. Don't know what happened, but there is no reception in the Bangalow area of NSW. What a pity that vodaphone ruined the opportunity for a disabled mother that I am to not be able to speak to her only child. WHAT'S UP WITH THAT VODAPHONE?...My daughter is now going to switch to another company & there goes the umpteen hours that I've accumulated so I could call her @ a cheaper rate. Might just think about switching as well.

Then for 10 minutes of the day , I get super fast speeds ... its like they teasing me as to whats possible . Fool on me if they catch me twice , NEVER Vodafone again

Live in Sandy Bay, have had a prepaid GRL mobile broadband USB (which is part of vodafone)for 2 and a half years, last nine months or so the reception has been atrocious so much so that I have no reception in my house.
I actually had to buy a 1m USB extension cord to stick the USB out the window. (yes in that torrential rain I had the USB out the window in a clip lock lunch bag so it wouldn't get wet)
I have complained 4 times since then and I am tempted to send them photos

Recently travelled over seas with friends, we were charged for 25 calls to the friend we travelled with in a period of 20 mins although we were with them at the exact time Vodaphone are saying we were making the calls. Our friend also with Vodaphone had no incoming calls from my number nor was she charged for the incoming calls via the roaming charge. VODAFAIL alright they just try to rip people off as well as having poor customer service and no phone service. At our address we often go days without coverage. I hate this company

Signal / reception is almost non-existant in certain areas, and I am not country or rural... I live in Adelaide outer-southern suburbs! This is just not good enough, Vodafone!!
17303 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Poor Service, PERIOD! at 26 Apr 2011 07:52:21 PM
As well as what everyone else has experienced, on my unfortunate car breakdown last thursday night, attempted to recharge using my Credit card yelded only a "technical difficulty" twice, I then had to walk to the gas station, purchase a recharge to call for help. Everything seemed to work ok except when I got home to check my bank account to find a "Pending transaction" for the attempt credit card top up. How rude, we all know that that would cancel out the remaining credit that I had to walk to the gas station to get, and we all know what their customer service is like... NOT INTERESTED !

My calls are continually dropped!!! This makes a conversation almost impossible and results is costing me money (when people phone me, and the call is dropped, it results in me having to call them back)!
Signal is very poor and voice mail messages are delayed which is a real worry - I am a working, single mum and worry that if there was an emergency involving my children I wouldn't be contactable!

We use 2 vodafail phones for or business (HTC) the service is the worst. Continually dropping out signal strength does not exist in the Adelaide hills area and rural is a joke. Spend wasted hours talking to some one in India, always insisting that Vodafone coverage is exceptional, I refuse to allow them to correct my billing names or business association, I actually have a folder for Vodafone stuff ups at work now. The local store will not answer incoming calls and refuses to direct them to answering machine (Vodafone Marion). Will NEVER DO ANY CONTRACT AGAIN Liar's and cheats. This has cost our business dearly.

Vodafone called TWICE to offer me the deal of the century as I have been a valued customer for over 2 years. It involved Vodafone paying the next 3 months of my cap, sending me a new phone, and better calling and sms rates on my cap. Thinking it was a great deal, I accepted. What they failed to mention over the phone, (and never actually sent any paperwork with the new handset) was that by taking the offer I was signing up for 2 more years. In addition, the piece of crap phone they sent me WAS my upgrade, and not a gift at all. When I found this out after going into my local Vodafone store to complain, the teenager working there claimed she could not help. So, I used the store phone to call customer service, only to be told I was 'ignorant' for accepting the deal over the phone!!! I demanded to speak to management, and finally managed to get a new handset (still not the phone I wanted) and one of the infamous vodafone apologies! Still not happy! I hate Vodafone!

Last year within a year into the contract returned my w595 Ericson phone for repair as the screen fizzed out.....Repaired no problem......Again same issue within the year....Fixed it again.....Then 3rd time screen cacked itself....I went to vodafone Sthland near Kmart. After 3 weeks no call back....So I went down to investigate. I was told that the phone could not be repaired this time. Well I had insurance and It was still within warranty....I still dont know why it couldnt be repaired. I Lost the plot in the store. I told any prospective customers that this co is rubbish and to look out if there was a problem. I demanded a regional manager contact me to resolve the matter. Next day I received a call from a Regional Manager and I explained the situation.....NEW PHONE sent to me.....Out of contract now but still using as I dont have problem with reception....The pain continues with Internet tho as I have one of those mobile toggle sticks thingys you put in your usb port...On contract still and getting poor internet all the time.....Probably in the last year I have had good reception twice at home in Sth Yarra(3 bars)Usually it is 2 bars (poor) If I take the laptop to work in Balaclava the reception is brilliant. Unfortunately I do not use the internet for my job so useless to me at work. I have at least another year to go of this contract so I will try the store first and see how I go

I was with 3, but got swapped over to vodafone, i can't get reception in the front prooms of my house, despite a tower being 350 or so metres away. I got told it was my handset, so i did as i was told and reset the phone and the problem still exists! The second time i rang them (from a landline) they told me it was my handset that was the problem, and that i would have to take it to be serviced. However when i told them that one of my mates, who was also in vodafail was standing alongside of me and had no reception either, i ogt told that that was impossible, as their system indicated there was nothing wrong with the network. I put up with not having service at the Clipsal 500, as did my mates, becuase they were experiencing a larger than usual call / data volume, but it hasn't stopped being a problem. the sooner i get out of this contract, the better. next stop Telstra - more expensive, but at least the staff in the shops seem to want to help you.
17290 Someone from SA thinks vodafone is Poor Coverage at 26 Apr 2011 07:24:13 PM
Our area has very poor mobile coverage in the northern suburbs of Adelaide. Forget 3G, we can't download anything over the 3G network as we can not get 3G coverage on our Vodafone phones.
17289 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Massive Failure at 26 Apr 2011 07:24:06 PM
have been with Vodafone for awhile now & ever since being with them, I have had nothing but trouble. Everyday there is some problem with my network it goes from full signal to no network to emergency calls in a matter of a split second. I have to turn my phone on & off several times in a day & sometimes even pull my phone apart & take out the battery to get it to work. It is extremely annoying when you are on a phone call with someone & for no reason at all your signal drops out & cuts off the call. I also cannot receive picture messages, my txt get to people late & I sometimes don't even received txt messages & if I do they are too late...arrrrgghhh!!!!!! I called & spoke to the technical team about my issues & they said that they would fix them!! What do you think happened??? Still no improvement & still no picture messages received & stilll issues with txt messages & phone calls . To top it off this long weekend..of all weekends for it to happen the network it was down just BRILLANT!!! Vodafone better pull their finger out & sort out their issues or they are going to be loosing a large amount of customers. Including me who is seriously thinking of going back to Telstra. I have been with Telstra for years & have never had any problems with their service always plenty of coverage wherever you are. I went with Vodafone because they were a cheaper option for me to choose now I no why they are cheaper, cause you get what you pay for a crappy service. Who out there agrees with me & is having the same issues????

Sometimes when i get lonely at nights i call vodafone just to hear Laras voice .. I love the way she navigates me thru the menus like im a retard ..
sometimes when im really lonely she put me thru to Darren ( a guy in india or sudan who real name is probably sanjit or GopoRembe ) .. i ask him what the weather is like in hes country and a few other questions all the while hes thinking im going to get to my problem .. i then hang up .
I then fall asleep after making a long overseas phone call.

not in this mess anymore thankfully. Crazy Johns contract and once home with new phone could not get any reception in area that says on coverage map should have full coverage.
spent several hours on hold and talking to a brick wall (Call centre full of indians) and the final result.....you will have to pay full termination fees of about $900.
Tip: contact your crazy johns store and speak with the manager there. They were very helpful in the end and had contract terminated for me. Be assertive and request/demand things be done.

I have actually been with Vodafone for several years and never had the problems that I have now, I cant even make phone calls without having to call back and even Vodafone to Vodafone calls drop out constantly, I was unable to contact anyone on Easter Sunday as my msgs wouldn't go through and my family live interstate. I also have Vodafone wireless internet and spend more time off line than on some days, and it drops out 4 or 5 times before I can even get my home page opened up. They are also virtually impossible to contact for aasistance at any time night or day and if you do manage to get through you cant understand what they are telling you.

17282 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Reception - what's that? at 26 Apr 2011 07:17:39 PM
I don't know whether it has anything to do with Vodafone joining with 3 (which I left because of hopeless reception to go to Vodafone) but, where I used to receive reception at my house and at work, not any more. That's just the phone, internet is hopeless. I've never managed to speak to anyone at customer support because I've been on hold for so long and had other obligations that don't allow me to wait on a phone indefinitely. don't know what to do
