26 Mar 2012 - Update Highest Rated Pain Stories Highest Rated Gain Stories Vodafail Local Facebook Page
Dear visitor,

Since its inception Vodafail.com has made a significant contribution towards raising awareness of the problems and issues faced by Vodafone customers.

Vodafone Australia customers have had the opportunity to voice their concerns, their fears and their troubles from every corner of Australia and beyond our borders. You have gathered the courage to stand up for your rights as consumers and to make your voice heard.

Each and every person who shared their story should have a sense of pride in this achievement and the changes that have occurred since the start of Vodafail.com.

More recently, traffic to Vodafail.com has declined significantly. Having achieved the goal of raising awareness and promoting concrete action in early 2011, we have now reached the point of closing Vodafail to new complaints. The site will remain online for as long as possible as a reminder and an example of what is possible when we share our experiences.

It has been a privilege to run this initiative and I'm am forever grateful for the help and support I've received. In particular I would like to thank Melissa, David and Travis for their continued efforts over the past 15 months. I'm also thankful and humbled by the support of ACCAN, Choice magazine and a wide range of media outlets, blogs and websites.

You can still browse existing stories and find out how to file a complaint if you are experiencing problems.

Until next time,

Adam Brimo

14951 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Takeover fail at 30 Jan 2011 10:43:50 AM
We live in North Lakes and left Vodafail as they do not offer regular coverage. Three was really good, roaming to Telstra when their coverage was unacceptable. Despite this being in the contract, when Vodafail took over they reneged and roamed only to their network, which only offers regular coverage in the shopping centre where all the sales offices are. When I complained to Three the techs called back and and tried to fix the problem then they ended up having to escalate to Vodafails' technical team. Vodafails' response was that they were aware of the problem. They dont intend to do anything about it, but they are aware of the problem.
30 Jan 2011 12:48:09 PM: Hmmmmmmmm.........that is not good!

Always happens to me as well, the nearer I get to a Vodafone shop the stronger the signal is.........very odd indeed!!

I havent had reception from 28/1/11 till 30/1/11 any were in Albury/Wodonga Vodafone have only offered me $30 as a "good will gesture" does that seem reasonable for not havinng any phone reception for almost 3 days i dont think so considering that i dont have a land line and rely on my moble phone for everything.
30 Jan 2011 01:08:55 PM: I once worked in Albury/Wodonga nice part of the world you live in!

$30 may be the going rate (I really do not know) but more importantly when will there be normal service?

May be worth thinking about the future......

14948 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is frustrating at 30 Jan 2011 09:27:41 AM
I had been with Vodafone prepaid in the past for years with no issues, i left for about 6 months then came back to a plan in late december, the issues since then have been never ending, reception for 1, i work in brisbane city, about 50% of the time i get vodafone reception, the rest i roam onto telstra, sometimes i just get no reception at all in the city, i live only 8km from brisbane city and often at home i get no reception at all, or its again under roaming, the issue being, when you roam, the charges are 90cents per minute out of my cap, not free vodafone to vodafone like it should be! this is why i went back to vodafone, so that my partner and i stopped getting big bills!

Next, I cant get my account balance through website, the vodafone access point, , the 1512 number, the only way was calling vodafone and waiting an hour, and as of yesterday they couldn't tell me what cap credit i had left and how much data i had either, first bill i knew would have 2 x monthly charges, but where i signed up for half price, they input it as $10 per month off, i now apparently have a recurring credit to make up the difference but my first bill was still not half price x 2 months! i am also incredibly underwhelmed at the speed of internet access vodafone have at the moment, i usually just wait till i get home as its less painful!
30 Jan 2011 01:11:46 PM: I think the number may be 1555 that you have to call.

Did you get the reps name, ID and call reference number? Always wise to as there have been reports of calls not apparently being recorded. The reps will give them to you but you normally have to ask!

Vodafail drops out constantly, often you cannot recall the number which just dropped out as you then have NO NETWORK CONNECTION. TXT messages are delayed upto a day late. Sometimes you need to turn the phone off and on again to even get the message. Customer service is extreamly poor and excuses are excessive

14944 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Still ruining my relationship.... at 30 Jan 2011 07:47:07 AM
Since I got so sick of Vodafone not delivering my texts I changed to Optus and thought the problem would go away.

No.

My boyfriend is with Vodafone. Back in October when we first met we nearly lost our relationship because when he texted me to ask me out he never got a reply from me. He thought I was ignoring / not interested but I was replying and I was interested - vodafone just wasn't delivering my responses!

We've been through a rough patch the last few weeks but on Australia Day we had such an amazing time so he texted me the most sweetest msg the next day. I replied with a similar msg and all seemed great again. The next three days he seemed a bit cold/odd/distant, I was confused. Last night we finally figured it out.

He never got my nice reply so felt all rejected /confused.

Gah!!

F*CK YOU VODAFONE!

4 months of this sh*t is unacceptable!

We've decided to not trust our phones anymore and just send emails or pick up the phone. We shouldn't have to do this on a $90 plan!

30 Jan 2011 08:39:41 AM: If you need assistance on getting out of your contract before your 4 months is up, check out the 'How To Complain' link at the top of the page. The TIO is no doubt where you will end up, but make sure you follow all of the steps.

I would switch to Optus straight away if I was not on contract

Its simply embarrassing using Vodafone for business, 90% of my calls drop out if I am on the pone for longer than 40 secs. Calls sometimes go straight to voice mail and then I get a message an hour later.

Using your handset and making calls on Viber free internet calling is clearer than paying for calls on Voda fail.

Face time on the iphone 4, has gone from working 100% of the time to around 30% this is very strange.

14939 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Ugh! at 30 Jan 2011 12:32:47 AM
Ok, we flogged Vodafone. Now I am seeing some progress, mobile broadband has improved.

But one thing I don't understand here is how ignorant others can be. I am talking about 3.

Instead of learning the lesson, they are giving the same crap:
no mobile broadband connection around Rockdale/Kogarah area.

Shall we throw mud on them too to beat into their brainless heads that
1. they HAVE GOT TO WADDLE A BIT QUICKER in responding the clients and
2. provide the service they have got us locked into

It's just unbelievable, several 3rd world countries I know (from personal experience) already have 4G coverage with 3mbps minimum internet speed!!!

Ugh!!!
30 Jan 2011 01:17:55 PM: I think you will find Vodafone and 3 are in the same bed together.......

I live & work in the Frankston area and recently (last 6 weeks) about 50% of my calls (3G iPhone) have been dropping out. Previously I've had no difficulties with coverage/reception but this new development is making me think very hard about staying with Vodafone when I upgrade to an iPhone4 very soon. Have had billing difficulties in the past but this was some years ago and was resolved successfully.
Congratulations on this site,
Cheers, Dave R

He told.me that they would notify the technicians but nothing is working yet.

Around the Albury Wodonga region no one with vodafone has been able to use almost any service since 14:10 on the 28/01/2011. This problem is still current and does not appear to be being addressed and Vodafone do not seem to be providing any explanation. This is not the first time. I expect to be compensated, then I shall be changing service provider. Vodafone have been neglecting their customers for too long.

14927 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is complete fail at 29 Jan 2011 08:45:01 PM
Another customer from the Albury area being left completely without coverage. At least this website lets me know that I'm not the only one, unlike the Vodafone website, which doesn't mention that anything is wrong at all. Of course, like many people these days I do not have a land line and thus cannot call them to complain if I have no service. I have emailed but have not received a reply as yet...
I thought I might have got reception at my work site today which is 40km to the north and usually gets reception. No luck there either, which makes working alone in an isolated area risky.
Not happy.

14923 Someone from WA thinks vodafone is Useless Mobile Broadband During the Day at 29 Jan 2011 07:18:27 PM
I'm so sure Vodafone's current problems ALL come down to not enough capacity to handle the amount of customers they have.

I'm on mobile broadband (pre-paid thankfully) in the northern suburbs of Perth and up until October/November it worked perfectly fine - most of the time. Ever since then though I can - at best - get very slow and/or patchy connection during the day - but MOSTLY none at all. Interestingly though it seems to work perfectly fine very late at night. This (to me) clearly indicates capacity issues - not enough capacity to handle their existing customer base especially during the peak daytime period. I reckon they either can't do anything about this so are denying there's even a problem. Or stalling for time until they can and hoping they don't lose too many customers along the way. We had a similar situation with our small ISP here a while back.

Anyway I now have a pre-paid Optus connection as well and use this one most of the time during the day. I'm keeping the Vodafone one - with the bare minnimum credit - in the hope that they will EVENTUALLY sort out their issues and ONLY because they have the best download limits. If after 6 months they still haven't resolves these issues I'm ditching it completely - the joys of having pre-paid.
30 Jan 2011 10:46:08 PM: yep im NOR and have similar issues and timing especially frustrating is seemingly getting connected but then their network not connecting thru . Worst of all is the customer dis-service, when you can get thru they are rubbish and their automated systems crap....I have joined the class action and am also going them thru the ombdusman
Im using vivifi now, it is great, super fast and available all day !!!

Currently have 1 mobile on a plan, mobile internet and a prepaid mobile with vodafone and not one of them works! I just replaced the prepaid with a phone from another provider, as I really need a phone that works for emergencies! (Dont have a landline)
Would love to get out of my contracts for the mobile and internet that are on a plan but not sure how to do that.....

I have been in to the local Vodafone store today, and have been told what the problem is... just doesnt help my frustration when they are my only means to the outside world. If this wasnt a common occurrence I really wouldnt complain, but this is all the time. I moved house in July and since then I have only had 1 bar for connection rather than 5 or more (very poor connection), sad part is, I dont live in the sticks... I live in a reasonably large town!

Shall investigate your suggestion

I live in QLD my husband is in VIC I spoke with him for 5min on Friday morning then couldn't get hold of him, where he is over 40 ppl with Voda have no network coverage, I spent from 8am Friday morning til 10am Saturday morning having them tell me over the phone that there is nothing wrong with the network and it was his phone, he took his phone to the local dealer only then to be informed that the problem is with the network, I pay damn good money to use this service only to be shafted. I am over the lack of network coverage and have decided to go to another carrier, even when I was only 20 mtrs away from my husband there was a lack of coverage

14915 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is HORRENDOUS at 29 Jan 2011 06:05:12 PM
my god they are pathetic. I wrote on their facebook page about 2 weeks ago with a problem, they wrote back and said email this email with ur number and pin. so i did. waited literally a week. and i just got the reply today and this is all it says
"can you confirm your number and pin"
UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH i just sent them that in the first email this is a JOKE
29 Jan 2011 06:09:50 PM: I have read some of the horror stories on their FB page, and from what I can tell you are not the only one experiencing a drama with there.

I guess it is not their fault as they are trying to help people but the staff that then have to deal with the influx of emails must be understaffed as every day hundreds more complaints pop up, as well as many re-complaints like yours where they haven't addressed the problem you raise in your email.

Either way best of luck. If it helps we have some more information on 'How To Complain' under the 'How To Complain' link at the top of the page.

Best Of Luck.

29 Jan 2011 08:24:30 PM: Thanks, yep I contacted the TIO about 2 weeks ago and never heard from Vodafone.
If they dont reply do we just reply to the TIO email saying that they never contacted me?
29 Jan 2011 08:25:55 PM: If you don't hear back from Vdafone within 10 working days, you contact the TIO again using your original reference number, and they will escalate it as a Level 2 Investigation.

14914 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is too secure? at 29 Jan 2011 05:28:24 PM
Last night I lost both my phone and my wallet. Today I went into the store to get a sim swap to use in an old phone of mine. I've done it before, simple enough and only usually takes a few minutes in store. Not today!

I'm told that in response to (hyped up) claims of poor security and privacy leaks, the staff can't access my account anymore without my pin number or my ID. The problem is that my ID is in my stolen wallet and I'd forgotten my pin. The staff in the store who have always been very friendly and helpful are now utterly powerless to help me. They tried calling up customer care to help but still without my ID they couldn't legally prove that I was me. I couldn't even put a block on the account. So now I have to get new copies of my ID (not easy to do on the weekend), go back into store and start again all the while my phone is out there with whoever stole it and is in danger of racking up a big bill.

Oh and I had to wait in line for ages as well because everything the staff do with every customer now takes so much longer with their limited access to their computer system. I've always gone into the store because it was quicker and easier than calling up the customer care number but what's the point now if the stores are going to have long waits as well.

What was wrong with the old way anyway? These new security measures are ridiculous. Change them back.
29 Jan 2011 05:39:12 PM: I am glad you wanted your details leaked all over the internet for anyone with a simple password and login to access. Unfortunately for you, the other 99.99% of Vodafone's Customer base don't want their details leaked so easily, so with the assistance of the media pressured Vodafone to increase their crap security.
29 Jan 2011 05:44:38 PM: For reference sake, the person who posted the original post has posted numerous times (as replies to people) today, with such posts as

"It's funny how every bad experience is taken as fact without question or doubt yet whenever anyone claims to have no problems with their vodafone product/service then it has to be vodafone staff or their PR team."

" I'm a Vodafone employee AND a Vodafone customer.

As a customer I've honestly had very few issues. What few issues I've had have been in the last month or two but my service is still very usable.

As an employee I'm happy to see people go to another carrier. I get most of my commission from customers coming to vodafone, not from customers who are with vodafone already. I'm also privy to information about plans that will have the network close to if not equal to Telstra's network quality by the end of 2012, just when everyone who is leaving Vodafone now will be off their contracts. We'll see how long people's memories are when Vodafone not only has the best plans but a great network to back them up."

Yeah, I am sure you really had this experience today NOT! Way to look silly as a Vodafone Employee :/
29 Jan 2011 06:00:19 PM: OP seems a bit of a knob if you ask me.
29 Jan 2011 06:03:15 PM: @29 Jan 2011 08:00:19 PM : Hahahahaha couldn't agree more. Vodafone Employee fakes story about security is so tight now in some lame attempt to say it was all hyped.

You have to wonder why they bother coming here to post that dribble, instead of actually assisting their customers.

I mean this really does some up Vodafone's attitude

" I get most of my commission from customers coming to vodafone, not from customers who are with vodafone already"

lol
29 Jan 2011 06:07:58 PM: @ 29 Jan 2011 08:00:19 Could not agree more with you mate, what planet does Mr Knob think he is on?

Classified as a troll by any other name.
29 Jan 2011 06:15:17 PM: Just seen these posts and had a good scour to find all of the posts that 29 Jan 2011 07:44:38 PM mentioned --------- found all of them.

What type of person are Vodafone employing to post all this OP drivvle?
29 Jan 2011 08:19:15 PM: Oh dear! How embarrassing for the OP. He has been caught out big time. Has he gone now?
29 Jan 2011 08:20:38 PM: @29 Jan 2011 10:19:15 PM: lol I think so, either that or he lost connection from a vodafone store hahahaha
29 Jan 2011 08:30:32 PM: I can see him blushing away. What a deceitful and nasty thing to do. There are some really sad posts on here, people having difficulties contacting loved ones in the floods, disabled people unable to contact or be contacted by their carers or relatives, people with friends or relatives in hospital unable to be contacted, people who have had accidents unable to contact loved ones, genuine posts....and then you have this person!!
29 Jan 2011 08:31:10 PM: There are also a few positive ones because the MAJORITY of seven million Vodafone customers are not having issues, where are there stories?
29 Jan 2011 08:33:06 PM: At 29 Jan 2011 10:31:10 PM Who says so?
29 Jan 2011 08:33:21 PM: LMAO, so funny before i even saw every one elses comments i thought the OP story sounded really fake. Why not take you birth certificate in? credit cards? bills?
So fake!
29 Jan 2011 08:47:29 PM: @ 29 Jan 2011 10:31:10 PM : FYI, only 4.5 million Vodafone Customers the rest are 3 customers. Also of the almost 15000 posts here, less than 1% are positive ones and of that 1%, you can almost guarantee that 99% are vodafone staff (just like the original post above).
30 Jan 2011 12:48:40 AM: How many are fakes from Telstra and Optus staff?

You know, doing a bit of promotion, I wouldn't put it past those sleazebags, especially Telstra, rip off Aussies for anything they can get and pay it to some septics and his mates, good ol' Sol must be having a good laugh at all the suckers on a yacht somewhere, almost sinking from being stuffed full of Australian dollars.
30 Jan 2011 04:01:25 AM: Telstra and Optus employees don't need to be on here promoting.
They are too busy signing ex-Vodafone customers that have had enough of poor quality service, lies and timewasting.

Moderator - this employee may be in breach of contract. Perhaps forward ip details to Vodafone HR. It may also be wise to supply this information to the wider media to support the widely held view that VHA fosters a culture of lies and deceit.
Goodbye Nigel, goodbye Cormack. You have both done a terrible job. Hopefully the law catches up with you soon.
30 Jan 2011 09:22:07 AM: Lost your fone wallet etc. What happened? Did you wake up face down, naked on Manly Corso with the sun beating down on you after a big night out,no memory of the previous night events, and you reckon this isnt the first time? So because of your imbocilic behaviour vodafone should have lax security regarding our privacy and licence and pasport and credit card details? Just so you can walk into a store with a towel around your waste and get a new sim?
30 Jan 2011 10:40:39 AM: Yeah so my OP is actually a true story, just it was one of my customers not me. I thought if i wrote 'hey I work for vodafone and guess what happened to one of my customers today..." the post would instantly be ignored even though it is true.

@29 Jan 2011 10:30:32 PM: Deceitful? Somewhat, the story is true, it's just my customers not mine. Nasty? I disagree. I know there are genuine posts with unfortunate stories and i really do feel for them. But there is also a lot of bullshit here too. In store, I'd estimate that 2 or 3 out every 10 customer complaints are for real, the other 7/8 are people trying to use sites like this as a way to scam free phones or account waivers.

It's funny how I'm discounted as obviously lying and cheating just because I work for vodafone when as an employee i deal with more customers and have an much greater understanding of systems and what goes on behind the scenes and as such have a better view of the whole picture than people who only have their own vodafone story or a few friends, and a vodafail website created as a catalogue for complaints. Don't forget I'm also a vodafone customer, a largely problem-free one.

@30 Jan 2011 06:01:25 AM: Can you show in my contract where it says I'm not allowed to post here? I've looked for it but seemed to have missed it. And i am a vodafone customer aswell, why can't I post?
I have done nothing illegal and I have not given permission for my IP address to be given out to vodafone or the media. That would be a breach of privacy I would think. I could sue vodafail.
And 'to support the widely held view that VHA fosters a culture of lies and deceit'. My only lie was a white one. I told a true story but from the customers perspective not mine as the employee in that situation. All my other posts have been the truth, just not a truth that you'd prefer.
30 Jan 2011 11:13:04 AM: LOL he admitted he worked there xD try not to make ur stories sound so fake.
30 Jan 2011 11:14:47 AM: why dont you go over to the Facebook vodafone group and HELP PEOPLE instead of sitting on here making up shit to try and make vodfail look better. no one here cares, we are here coz we hate it and get shit service
30 Jan 2011 11:56:50 AM: @30 Jan 2011 12:40:39 PM: lol, likely true story. You posted it as you were the person complaining about the problem, then when you got caught out, you now post as it was one of your customers complaining. Pathetic, way to make vodafone look even worse than they already do.

So glad I am no longer with that fail of a company if that is the type of lying and deceitful employees that they hire.
30 Jan 2011 12:21:06 PM: Shame there was not an apology in the whole of your post at 30 Jan 2011 12:40:39 PM and I love the way you describe your actions as somewhat deceitful and then later on threaten to sue Vodafail for breach of privacy!

Any posts you make mate must be treated with the same contempt that you have shown for others.

As someone else mentioned earlier on here >>>>> you are a knob and pathetic as well.
30 Jan 2011 12:26:06 PM: 'I'd estimate that 2 or 3 out every 10 customer complaints are for real'

I'd estimate 10 out of 10 of your posts are unreal @ OP and 30 Jan 2011 12:40:39 PM
30 Jan 2011 01:27:51 PM: I reckon 10 out of 10 times vodafone blames the customer, blames the handset or blames the sim, they are being deceitful and it is actually the failed network that is the problem 100% of the time
1 Feb 2011 07:08:15 AM: My only lie was a white one..........still a lie whatever colour you want to buff it up.
27 Jul 2011 11:11:53 PM: Asked at Optus today - they don't commissions AT ALL. Makes you wonder...

14912 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Ridiculous at 29 Jan 2011 04:25:21 PM
I have been without service since lunchtime if not earlier Friday the 28th. It has only come back once in that whole time for about five minutes! After a frustrating phone conversation with "Amit" from Vodofone who tried to tell me there were no problems in my area I still have no service now - I am in the Albury area. WTF - is anyone else experiencing this? P.S. I certainly won't be paying my bill for no service!!!
29 Jan 2011 05:06:31 PM: Get this one....received an SMS 28th Jan that was sent on the 12th July last year....an important SMS no less....lost a job because of this SMS not arriving....
29 Jan 2011 05:09:49 PM: Whilst I understand your frustration, be very careful going down the line of not paying your bill. Vodafone are quick to give you a bad credut rating due to unpaid bills and that can take 5+ years to clear.

Your best choice would be to check out the 'How To Complain' link at the top of the page, and between Vodafone and then no doubt the TIO, push to get out of your contract penalty free and change to a carrier that can provide service.

Either way, Best of luck.

14908 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Useless at 29 Jan 2011 03:18:02 PM
After looking on Vodafone's website and seeing no outages in my area, I've spent the last 2 days trying to work out why my mobile has no reception. Thinking I needed a new SIM, I went to the local Vodafone shop only to find out they had numerous people with the same problem. Obviously an outage, but Vodafone assured me when I called them that everything is ok from their end and they will get in touch with me in 5 days(!) to tell me what my problem is. As my husband is also with them, I am not impressed. They need to inform customers instead of keeping them in the dark. And improve their service.

I am attempting to switch networks because I am sick of Vodafone screwing me over, but before I do I would like to use up the $90 of credit which has built up, and will run out in the next few days. So what does Vodafone do? Give me absolutely no reception anywhere in Albury so I have no way of using up my credit before I change. Thanks Vodafone!

I'm at Kewarra Beach, a northern suburb of Cairns and I have to chase a Vodafone signal around my house. So many times I go to make a call, it has bars and then I try and ring and it shows no signal. I'm so tired of it I feel like throwing my phone. Surely, in a suburb of Cairns I could have a strong signal! I used to live in the suburb of Brinsmead (5 minutes drive from the city centre) and I'd still have the same issue. Please boost your signal Now for Cairns suburb and regions!

No service for 24 hours, dropped out Friday afternoon of all days! Would get a second of service and I would receive a message that was sent hours before then would drop back out so I couldn't even reply or call. This happened all over town where I usually get full service.

Can not stand Lara!! They send you around in circles when all you want to do is speak to a REAL person!

After moving to a town from a city not realizing that the data would cost more I received an extremely large bill I called one week before it was due asking if I could pay it off $50.00 a week. I was told I must pay $100.00 a week off and if I did not agree to this they would immediately stop all my outgoing calls and messages from that phone call not from the date the bill was due or overdue...you try and do the right thing! I have been with Vodafone for 10 years and have always paid my bills on time and could not help me this once! Not once did he mention that I could change my plan to better suit my new living situation and a few more large bills arrived and lots of tears to customer service workers before a random non-vodafone worker mentioned this to me.

I am counting down the months till my plan is over and I am out of there grasp!
29 Jan 2011 02:25:46 PM: Considering the poor service by vodafail...they are in NO position to dictate to anyone....I advised the Vodafail store at Orion last week....they are at risk of losing their communications licence and if they wish to dictate then we will see who wins....I also informed them I will not pay a cent until they remedy this....btw no interenet so far for 5 days....call cut out to their support....advised no barring in place...

No mess at all.
For any Vodaphone customers who have consistently bad reception or no reception, your carrier will let you out of your contract.
All you need do is doccument the instances and it is a fairly simple proceedure.
I have recently been through this with another carrier who could not supply coverage at my home at Southport on the Gold Coast and they credited my last bill and allowed me to keep my phones (3) at no charge.
The two year contract on three phones had been running for approx. five months at this time.
Good Luck.

Mike

I have just moved into a house in Lennox Head, NSW 2478. Up until now I have been 'ok' with vodafone. Not the best coverage in rural areas but I knew that when I signed up on my contract. However I now have minimal to no reception in my house while living in a township of 4000 people. It means I cannot receive work calls and am unavailable at times when I am needed most. I can however walk outside, sit on the grass of the footpath and make calls. It can drop out at anytime.
As for 3G... That 1GB data package I pay for is now completely useless.
I rang to see if I could do something to my phone - add an antennae - was on hold for half an hour, spoke to someone and then my phone dropped out. Surprise surprise he didn't call back.
Thanks vodafail

29 Jan 2011 02:31:51 PM: Yep, I have contacted them both.
Vodafone keep bribing me, giving me extra data and time to use it.
Im reluctant to give them the "finger" and ask for a refund as I am hopeful that they will get their "act together" eventualllllly.
I dont believe in miracles,
BUT
Maybe I should start going to church and pray for them to get it right?
Thats it! Everyone should got to church next Sunday. We could all pray for Vodafone to be forgiven AND for Heavenly Intervention (for Vodafone, so they can get it right).
What a great idea, people.
Think it will work?

4 Feb 2011 04:46:40 PM: Got a Call from Vodafone offering to refund the unused portion of my data allowance and price of Modem.
But you wouldnt want to know it but my internet connection had came good the very same morning of the call, it had been bad (Edge Network) for 5 days.
Apparently the area Im in at Redhead (Elsdon Street Kalaroo Rd - signal from Dudley Tower) is a known blackspot.
Dont know what they did but Im happy at the moment.
I was also told that Vodafone has my area on a list of places to "improve", could be a while though.
So Im Sticking with them atleast until I use my data, good for 12 months.
PS - I hadnt got around to going to church, but I had faith / sort a.

I'm at home and my iphone can't find any network coverage. for the past 2 days. I go out and bam, automatic reception. Is my house some black hole for Vodafail coverage or something.

I've had 3, virgin and optus before and have had none of these problems. I bought a phone, not a brick. This is pathetic.

The Vodafone network has down in Albury/Lavington area since at least early Friday morning (28 Jan). There are delays receiving SMS from others, ones I send don't go through, my phone says I can only make emergency calls. I called Vodafone and they said they have no idea when it will be back up - very handy when on-call so I emailed Vodafone to find correct address to send the invoice for my lost pay from the shift I missed from getting the SMS from work too late.

It's the same all over town. Vodafone what's going on? I'm travelling at the moment and need to keep in touch with people.

We have sighned up with two Vodafone mobile Phones. One for myself who is visionly impired and one for my house mate so i can contact someone at all times for my own security and well being. I was promised 98% coverage. I have two phones witch in total cost 140$ a month on a bisiness unlimited cap. Phones are useless calls drop out. I have no security and keep getting a text book reply from over seas customer care. Placed on hold for 40 minuites at a time and can be transfured to 3 different departments just to get to someone who still does not understand me. I can not beleive this could happen. It is discusting and Vodafone should no longer be allowed to sell there services.

14885 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is very disappointing at 29 Jan 2011 09:03:14 AM
I connected with Voda in OCT 2009 having worked for a local dealer in the past with no issues as far as reception is concerned. I connected on a $69 iPhone 3GS cap. Since approx OCT 2010 I have experienced a very significant drop in reception that is a result of moving suburbs. Now the suburb I am in is the same area that I previously worked as a Rep for. The degradation of the network was so severe that I was unable to even send a text from my house. So last week I called the CC and complained. They attempted to check the settings on my handset and agreed they were all fine, I then called back on a Saturday (last sat) and put in another complaint, they attempted to fix my issue again however were not able to so they opened an investigation. 5 days later they had not called me so this morning I called and asked on the status of the investigation. They concluded I was in a low coverage area and I could be released from my contract without penalty and would have to pay $150 to keep my handset (after bartering him down from $320). I am very happy with this as my account is in credit by $80 :). I went to telstra and am now the owner of an iPhone 4.
Throughout all this I was polite and calm and only asked that they see my point. I am happy with the Customer Service I received and feel they did actually try to fix the issue but honestly what can they REALLY do when its a network issue. Hope this all helps to all those wanting to leave, all up it took 10 days to be released from my contract on MY terms not thiers.

14883 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is absolute disgrace at 29 Jan 2011 08:43:21 AM
Tried to register pre paid sim. Used LARA service, registered the sim by voice recognition. So far so good. Lara says sim will be active within 30 minutes. Try to recharge an hour later and sim not registered. Lara voice recording says this can take up to 12 hours now due to technical issues. Half a day later I try to recharge, phone sim still not active. Lara transfers me to a customer service rep who takes my details again over the phone. ( Surprisingly did not wait long for a customer service rep ). Rep take down all the details again as given to Lara 14 hours ago and says Lara sometimes does not work. Rep activates the service manually and says to turn off the phone and wait 30 minutes.

I turn on the phone 30 minutes later and go to put funds on the phone. Back to square one - phone still not activated and has taken me back to the initial Lara service wanting to take my details again.

What a joke. They can't even register pre paid sim cards correctly anymore. I am left with a pre paid sim that I still cannot activate after 2 days. Figure if I try registering by the Lara service again the same will occur.

Completely lost, will use prepaid sim from another provider.

14864 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Unlock iphone at 28 Jan 2011 08:56:26 PM
i am a business owner and i do over 60 hours of talk time a month. i am a victim of Lara!!!!. I managed to cancel my contract after speaking to TIO.

after cancelling the contract i have been asked to send the phone back to them, however i realised that this shouldnt be the case as you are paying for the phone part of your plan. I straightaway called back and after another argument the fee was $244 (based that i had 8 month left on my 24 month contract on $99 unlimited cap).
When i asked them to break down the figuire they changed their mind and advised me that my payout fiqure to keep my iphone 3GS 32MB is $46.

Moved to Telsta only to find out my phone is locked. vodafone customer service said to me "sorry for the inconvenience" as it will take 10 working days to unlock my phone and will cost me $25

they are a joke of a company. I have been a 10 year loyal client but will never give vodafail my business ever again.
28 Jan 2011 09:57:17 PM: Get back to the TIO- same file, I think. Will cost Voda more if you open a new one.
29 Jan 2011 04:39:32 PM: You get a free handset on the condition that you sign on for 24 months, if you cancel before the 24 months then of course you have to give it back. A big reason for this or for being asked to pay the remainder of the handset is that many people are trying to use all this bad media for vodafone as a way to cancel their plans just to keep their phone AND sign up again with a new phone.

Also, check the box your phone came in. You will see it marked that there is a unlocking fee.

14861 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Dying a very slow John Mayer death. at 28 Jan 2011 08:14:39 PM
4.30 hours and still counting. If I ever hear John Mayer again I may feel the need to ram my phone up the closest Vodafone Customer rep's vodahole. I mean nearly FIVE hours is totally unacceptable. Imagine if I didn't pay my bill and used the excuse which I've been hearing for close to five hours now "I'm a bit flat out, hang in there, I'll pay it soon" I THINK NOT!! I can't even remember why I am calling them now. Oh that's right, I just need to change my credit card details. The first time I called them was at 4pm, I was put on hold for 41 minutes. I was told that the number I called was not the right number but the kind lady I spoke to kindly removed my credit card details from their system. I was then told to call 1555 (which I thought I had called) or to use the online service to change it. She assured me it would only take a minute to change my details. Because I was away from my computer I decided to call back......
I managed to get to my computer after half an hour and use the online facility. What a freaking joke, myvodafone is currently not working so I had to stay on hold. This is where I have been for the last several hours.
Currently I am dying, I am dying from lack of Friday night activity and listening to the one millionth John Mayer song. I may commit suicide very soon.
So Mr "to win in the marketplace you needed to create a brand that customers feel an emotional connection with; that employees want to do their best work for; and that is widely recognised as a leader for the quality of its products and services and the contribution it makes to society" CEO Vodafone.
Your customer care department sucks arse. It's not their fault, they are only following orders. Perhaps you and your customer service managers should be flipping burgers at Maccas, then again that requires too much responsibility and I personally don't think you're up to it. You would not know customer service (let alone customer care) if it crawled up your arse at night.
NOT GOOD ENOUGH! I am paying for a service I expect service. Not slack "we're flat out at the moment" service.
Vodafone you suck.

Ok I have been on hold 4 times now, each time for no less than 2.5 hours(5 hours was the max only to be hung up on when put on hold), finally was able to log onto myvodafone to check my call data and what do you know every time I try to see more than the last 7 days it disconnects me. They have been charging me for downloads I do not receive and have been charging for V2F calls.
It goes from bad to worse they sent me a email saying "recharge on the 28/1/2011 and get double bonusbank points", so I recharged and as you most probably know no extra bonus points. Been on hold now for 2 hours and 45 minutes.
Has taken well over 13 days and 10 hours on hold just to be able to log into myvodafone, but I still cannot do anything once logged in as they cut me out and I have to log in again. And I have been with VF since day one(loyalty LOL)
And I could go on and on, but hey my broadband speed hit the most ever whilst here now 750kbps YAY so much for 7mbps. Oh and my phone internet connection is that slow it times out between pages.

Hubby and I both have iPhones with Vodafone - neither of us has made or received a single call today that has not dropped out. Same for yesterday, and the day before, etc. Huge delays in in MMS messages arriving at their destination, completely unable to access the internet despite having apparently full 3G coverage, received calls going directly to voicemail despite phone being switched on and with apparently full 3G coverage. I think you get the general idea. Multiple attempts at contacting customer service, however our phones keep dropping out prior to completing our calls...

Mobile Device (iPhone) - little or no reception. Fluctuates between "no service", "searching" and one or two bars. Limited cellular data - 3G symbol is rarely there and often receive "you have no internet connection" when trying to access the internet. Incoming and outgoing calls drop out, cannot send MMS messages and SMS messages are delayed.

Pocket Wi-Fi - very very very slow. 3G drops in and out. Takes approximately 5 minutes for each page to load when I am able to access the internet.

I have called the call centre numerous times to complain, often being on hold for over an hour. I have received technical advice from the team to no avail.

I contacted the call centre again this morning and pleaded with them to be transferred to the cancellations team. I was given the option to pay out my contract or allow Vodafone to open an investigation. I opted for the investigation and have to wait 5 - 7 working days for an update on the situation. To make matters worse my call dropped out twice whilst speaking to the call centre this morning - apparently calls to 1555 drop out regularly and cannot be taken into consideration during the investigation.

It's just not fair ...

28 Jan 2011 04:51:58 PM: HAHA you're kidding... now the supervisor is going to call me back....
28 Jan 2011 04:52:48 PM: Vodafone has a f*cking army of indians just waiting to sap up my time..... good friday arvo!!
28 Jan 2011 05:03:08 PM: They said 5 minutes. I stressed that people had been told 5 minutes and they hadn't heard back in 2 weeks! The supervisor insisted that she'd be just 5 minutes. That was 13 minutes ago..... let's see how long I wait... (she probably just finshed her shift!) f*cking b*tch!!
28 Jan 2011 05:08:43 PM: That's 20 minutes - she said 5.... WTF!!!
28 Jan 2011 05:09:38 PM: am I supposed to sit here waiting all f*cking evening... it's already been nearly 2 HOURS!!! I want to get dinner I had a f*cking long enough day as it is.... F***************CK!!!!
28 Jan 2011 05:09:47 PM: Whilst I understand your frustration, to avoid moderation of your posts can you please avoid any further profanity.

28 Jan 2011 05:21:24 PM: Supervisor gave me her name (probably a fake name) and said she'd call me back in 5 mins... it's now been over half an hour..... seriously, no seriously... what can I do... it took me 1 1/2 hours just to get hold of her (spoke to 5 people and went on hold 5 times before being put through to her)... an absolute farce..
28 Jan 2011 05:27:35 PM: Welcome to the world of Vodafone!!!!

When (if) she does ring you back tell her you shall be taking this matter to the TIO......it does change their attitude somewhat!!!

The details of TIO may be found on the tab How To Complain located at the top of the page.

Good luck, we share your pain!!!
28 Jan 2011 05:28:31 PM: Supervisor was supposed to call me back in 5 now it's been 40 minutes....
28 Jan 2011 05:30:53 PM: This is f*cked I give up going to the gym... I suppose 2 1/2 hours wasn't long enough..... all I wanted was my money back....
28 Jan 2011 05:31:13 PM: good night all
28 Jan 2011 05:40:34 PM: just lodged my first complaint with the TIO....
28 Jan 2011 05:41:18 PM: Worst part of this is that this is how most vodafail customers get treated.
28 Jan 2011 06:47:58 PM: lol, now back from the gym.... "i'll call you back in 5"... has now been 2 hours!!!!
28 Jan 2011 06:57:35 PM: I'm at a complete loss as to what to do...........
28 Jan 2011 06:58:28 PM: meanwhile Nigle Dews is probably having the seafood buffet at my expense.... having a good laugh at all the suckers he's got diverted to india! haha jokes on us people!!
28 Jan 2011 08:02:31 PM: Racist
29 Jan 2011 12:00:48 AM: 7 HOURS LATER AND STILL NO CALL - WTFFFFFF!!!!!!! LYING F*CKERS!!!!!
29 Jan 2011 10:37:40 AM: Exactly 18 hours later and still not a single response!!!!!! THEY WILL LIE TO YOUR FACE!!!
29 Jan 2011 12:24:06 PM: 20 hours later.... now I have wasted Friday morning because I couldn't work from home as planned because mobile broadband wasn't working, wasted Friday afternoon because I spent 1h 15m on hold then waited 2 hours for a call back from supervisor of modem data support (Nisha Rani - probably a fake name) which never came, now I will attempt to go to the store of purchase and get my refund... this is a complete joke... time to waste my Saturday. Oh boy!
29 Jan 2011 12:25:47 PM: And as a corollary, it cost me money to stay on hold last night, and will cost me money to pay for parking in the city today... they have not only f*cked my broadband access, but are also costing me from my wallet... these guys are thieves and liars..
29 Jan 2011 05:34:03 PM: I just went into the store and was given a $79 refund on my USB modem, but they refused to refund me on the $150 credit I'd purchased. It took 80 minutes to get the refund, in which time my parking expired which earned me a $60 fine lol... I'm writing to Nigel Dews...
30 Jan 2011 11:37:53 AM: hahaha well i for one liked the swearing. :) vodafone is a joke!!!! send Nigel the parking bill
4 Feb 2011 03:29:58 PM: UPDATE: I got my money back for the credit and the modem. I'm all signed up at Piper Alderman and I'm going to push all the way to get these crims back for the hell they put me through.

Also, now that I'm with another ISP - LIFE IS BACK TO NORMAL - IT FEELS AMAZING

14842 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Extreme Fail at 28 Jan 2011 03:59:16 PM
Where to start? Network is slow and drops out most of the time...especially in my area (Rothwell QLD). The texts I receive from Voda offering free calls and text messages and what not, but as soon as I top up I don't receive anything. I thought it was just my number but my partner is also with Vodafone and he has the exact same problem. Everytime I contact Vodafone service, not only is Lara annoying but the hold time is ridiculous. The last time I rang, it took me 2 days to get through. My friends and family are never able to contact me because when they call, it goes straight to voicemail even though the phone is not switched off. My mobile broadband was a waste of money as it's extreeeeeeeeeemely slow and I have to be sitting in a certain area in order for it to work. I have had it up to my eyeballs with Vodafone, it's definitely made me consider changing to another network.
29 Jan 2011 08:33:38 PM: Go buy a $2 Optus SIM then, what are you waiting for?

14841 Someone from ACT thinks vodafone is Kinda at 28 Jan 2011 03:57:57 PM
Got charged a dishonour fee on my last bill because a direct debit didn't go through. Rang up vodafone today and after being on hold for a miraculously short four minutes advised them that I had never actually activated direct debiting on my account and that my account on vodafone.com.au reflected that fact.

Quickly received an apology and a credit for the amount of the dishonour fee on my account.

Still can't overlook the fact that four days into my current billing period, my account usage graph has not been updated and is still reflecting I have spent none of my calls or data for the month, yet the call-by-call listing shows all usage for the month so far. Weird.
29 Jan 2011 06:44:06 AM: In my last month with Vodafu...d it took them 12 DAYS before they updated their online usage! The day before the period ended they took out about 2G of usage, I checked usage and thought I had 2G left, then they put it back. I couldn't work out how I could have gone over limit and only accidentally found out what they did when someone in their shops checked my account on their view of the system! I can think of no reasonable explanation of this behaviour. Sneaky and deceitful, as is not posting excess usage PAYMENTS to the web accounts.

14837 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Dudley Tower is a Dud at 28 Jan 2011 02:57:07 PM
The Tower at Dudley NSW 2290 is a Dud. Its taken me 30 minutes to load this page in order to comment.
All I get is the Edge Network thats slower than dial-up.
Usually I get the HSUPA Network but lately is not available so my USB modem has to be forced to use the Dud Edge Network.
What are you going to do about it Vodafone?
28 Jan 2011 07:39:26 PM: Nothing at all, although we will assure that it will be fixed soon.
28 Jan 2011 10:24:16 PM:
29 Jan 2011 06:32:47 AM: Another day of "Edge Network". What the F***K is wrong with the F******G Tower at Dudley.
Think I might take a drive up there to see if its really still there.
Maybe Vodafone have sold off their transmitter equipment off for scrap.
Thats about all its worth.

14833 Someone from WA thinks vodafone is everyday at 28 Jan 2011 02:28:15 PM
The Vodafone networt is intermittent, phone calls drop out, data services are slow or dont work at all, its very rare that this network and its services are 100% working properly on any given day..

seems to have gotten worse since they tok over the 3 Network..

maybe i'm actually on the old 3 Network and they are just calling it the voda network..?

whatever, its not acceptable to have a carrier like this operate in Australia

14832 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is a complete fail at 28 Jan 2011 02:07:20 PM
My coverage has gone from ok to absolutely nill in the past couple of days. I've been all around town today, and have had a total of about 20 minutes where I have any sort of coverage, and maybe a total of 5 minutes 3G coverage. Not good enough Vodafone.

28 Jan 2011 01:53:09 PM: One for the people!
28 Jan 2011 02:50:16 PM: Thanks for looking out for the people, however what is point of having all these nice things if you can't make a simple phone call due to reception issues?
28 Jan 2011 05:46:02 PM: Their powes of persuasion (not yours) have worked here because they still have you locked into a contract, with a pathetic excuse for a network.
A win for vodafail!

14827 Someone from SA thinks vodafone is Do they hate customers that much? YESSSSSS! at 28 Jan 2011 01:44:08 PM
What a process! Churned to Telstra on 21st Dec 2010 and then waited for a final account to be sent to me as per usual by snail mail as well as email advisory. No joy until on the 13th of Jan 2011 a 72 hour final demand turns up demanding immediate payment or additional costs will be incurred.
Contacted the Vodafone internal collections (?) number (1300652952) and was told that this is the one and only form of final bill. Talk about dismal communications, this is a typical experience I have had with this company over the last 4 years. Never never never again Vodafone/3..............

14826 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is coverage/contract at 28 Jan 2011 01:25:51 PM
I was told that vodafone have 'good' network coverage where I like and so I joined a contract-24 months.

When I went home, in college holidays while I was not at university, I had NIL coverage despite being told that my home was in an area of 'good coverage'.

I rang and told them that I would not have evetered the contract if I had ahve known there wouldnt be good coverage but they did not care and said I couldnt break my contract without paying out the 24 months.

I have been unable to make a call or access the web for the last 4 hours. This happened to me for about a week 2 months ago. This is now beyond a joke. What are Vodafone doing to fix all these problems, NOTHING by the looks of it. All you get is more PR spin. JUST FIX YOUR NETWORK

14822 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is VERY at 28 Jan 2011 12:35:02 PM
Well last year i had 2 months of no data and vodafone would tell me a different reason each time. In the end after talking with my internet provider and Apple -phone provider i discovered if i had my mail sent from Optusnet to Gmail vodafone could get it!! Vodafone were useless, had no idea what was wrong and never communicated directly about the fact that there was a problem they were aware of.

Now i am finding the service where i live drops out and in fact drops out often in areas which used to be fine. SMS take up to 12 hours to arrive from Telstra and Vodfone sms to telstra are equally unreliable.

I will take the SMS issue to them when i have a spare hour.
