Dear visitor,
Since its inception Vodafail.com has made a significant
contribution towards raising awareness of the problems and issues faced
by Vodafone customers.
Vodafone Australia customers have had the opportunity to voice their concerns, their fears and their troubles from every corner of Australia and beyond our borders.
You have gathered the courage to stand up for your rights as consumers and to make your voice heard.
Each and every person who shared their story should have a sense of pride in this achievement and the changes that have occurred since the start of Vodafail.com.
More recently, traffic to Vodafail.com has declined significantly.
Having achieved the goal of raising awareness and promoting concrete action in early 2011, we have now reached the point of closing Vodafail to new complaints.
The site will remain online for as long as possible as a
reminder and an example of what is possible when we share our experiences.
It has been a privilege to run this initiative
and I'm am forever grateful for the help and support I've received. In
particular I would like to thank Melissa, David and Travis for their
continued efforts over the past 15 months. I'm also thankful and humbled by the support of ACCAN, Choice magazine and a wide range of media outlets, blogs and websites.
You can still browse existing stories and find out how to file a complaint if you are experiencing problems.
Until next time,
Adam Brimo

Goodbye Vodafone. Has the audacity to charge me for excess usage, I supposedly used 5.5Gb of data on Aug 14, when in reality used about 150Mb in the 2hrs I was on-line, turned device on, went online, checked usage and wrote in diary, switched device off and went to be. COMPLAINT LODGED WITH T.I.O. TODAY ! They even charged me for usage when I was up at Maryborough, staying at Tinana where they have NO SERVICE, and over the 3 days I supposedly chewed up around 3Gb of Vodafone's data, even through the device was in my laptop bag, and turned off, not used due to lack of network coverage, so I used my friends' pre-paid Telstra NextG (and was very impressed with their network speed).
Did the unthinkable yesterday and walked into Telstra store Robina and signed up to their NextG 'ultimate' business plan, $49/mth for 7Gb and the Sierra 753S Aircard.
www.ozspeedtest.com - did a speed comparison (3Mb file speed test)
Test#1: 0630 today : location: Bronte Crt, Robina
VodaFraud: 72Kb/s
Telstra NextG: 304Kb/s
location: Bronte Crt, Robina
Test#2: 0930 today : location: Max Brenner's, Robina Town Centre
VodaFraud: 102kb/s (a little bit better)
Testra NextG: 317kb/s
VODAFONE - YOU SUCK ! goodbye vodafone.
PS: Telstra $49/7Gb is a business plan, you need an ABN - and you get the WiFi device for free
If you don't have an ABN, the stand-alone cost is $59/mth for 7Gb, and you have to pay $299 for the device up-front, but you get a credit of about $250 in your 1st or second bill I'm told, and the device is network locked. Mine is unlocked under the business plan. Just tried it with the VodaFone SIM, works fine, but no improvement in network performance over the Huawei E585 pocket wi-fi. Same readings.
If you have multiple Telstra services, you can get your $59.95/7Gb plan for as little as $39.95

The real-life situation was logging into my sendoutcards.com site, going to main menu, create card, create picture plus card, upload a 3.3Mb photo, drag photo into front panel of card, then stop timer.
On Vodafone, this process took 4min25sec
Pat turned on the Telstra NextG little black wifi, gave me the security code, I refreshed back to the main page, start timer, same sequence as above, the whole process took 1min4sec.
Data consumed for this operation: 7.6Mb on Vodafone, 7.5Mb on Telstra - about the same, according to the data usage display on the respective devices.
There were 2 other telstra reps, and about 4 in-store customers watching this little test of mine, because another person there was enquiring about the telstra nextg service. When I said, that'll do for me, let's get started and sign me up, so did the other lady who was there enquiring about nextg.
