Dear visitor,
Since its inception Vodafail.com has made a significant
contribution towards raising awareness of the problems and issues faced
by Vodafone customers.
Vodafone Australia customers have had the opportunity to voice their concerns, their fears and their troubles from every corner of Australia and beyond our borders.
You have gathered the courage to stand up for your rights as consumers and to make your voice heard.
Each and every person who shared their story should have a sense of pride in this achievement and the changes that have occurred since the start of Vodafail.com.
More recently, traffic to Vodafail.com has declined significantly.
Having achieved the goal of raising awareness and promoting concrete action in early 2011, we have now reached the point of closing Vodafail to new complaints.
The site will remain online for as long as possible as a
reminder and an example of what is possible when we share our experiences.
It has been a privilege to run this initiative
and I'm am forever grateful for the help and support I've received. In
particular I would like to thank Melissa, David and Travis for their
continued efforts over the past 15 months. I'm also thankful and humbled by the support of ACCAN, Choice magazine and a wide range of media outlets, blogs and websites.
You can still browse existing stories and find out how to file a complaint if you are experiencing problems.
Until next time,
Adam Brimo

21199 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Like the Qld Labor party at 26 Mar 2012 11:11:11 AM
The only organisation loosing its customers faster than Vodafone is the the Labor party in the Queensland election. Some similarities are deceiving their customers, lying, covering up, making promises that aren't kept (its been 2 years that they have said that they have been improving the network)and a complete lack of service and support. Fortunately, I have only 2 months to go and it goodbye Vodafone forever.

I no longer have a problem with Vodafail.
I gave them the flick 3 days ago to go with another company after 17 YEARS!
17 years with mostly good reception & a reasonable deal. However from about a year ago nothing but aggravation.
Actually I tried to switch to Telstra at their ultra state of the art (?) new local store after being politely attended to by a nice attentive young lady on my initial visit. However on the follow up to sign up for the negotiated package deal, I was informed it was her day off & none of the disinterested bunch of retards could find my already negotiated deal & were not interested enough to give me any kind of help because they had more important things to do like squeezing their pimples & setting up the new 4G giant size plastic icon.
Gave the situation a little thought & went over to the Optus shop where I was treated as if I was a long lost member of the family. So based on nothing more than being treated like an actual person instead of a statistic I ended up with a far better deal on 2 phone deals & a broadband line account.
So far in 3 days I have had every inquiry & set up problem answered satisfactorily & (almost) immediately. I have read the online forums & there are pros & cons with all the telcos but as far as I'm concerned the most important thing is to be able to communicate with someone if there is a problem & I'm getting that now.
So bye bye LARA, bye bye totally no reception most of the day, bye bye hanging in a phone queue for 3 hours until Mumbai answers with total denial of anything I want to happen. Bye bye after 17 years of being a customer who always paid on time!
If anybody from Voadafail gets to read this -- kiss my ar-e! Bye Bye!

21189 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is The worst kind of fail at 23 Mar 2012 05:32:21 PM
Long story here
Got a iphone3g sometime in 2010, I think about april. I had intermitant 3g signal at my home address and at work I had almost zero reception. Seems these are the 2 places I use my phone and both were suppose to have full coverage I began negotiations to be excused from my contract due to poor service. Several months and many many cals later I was allowed to return the phone and cancel the contract with no discharge fee.
Some dates here are aproximations but are still fairly accurate.
August 2010 Ported phone number to Telstra
Septempber 2010 Handset sent back to VODAFAIL
I thought all was good at this point.
OCT - NOV 2010 Recieved call from NRG (debt collection agency) that I had a debt of approxmately $1300 ( the Balance of the contract). Told them The was no debt and to speek to vodafone.
Call Vodafail straight after NRG. THe consultant said the handset had not been recieved, It was sent registered post. They promised to call back and never did. 1 week later I called them and they said the handset had been found, the debt would be recalled and I would have no outstanding balance.
Febuary 2011 Receive call from NRG about that $1300 debt. Told them the same story again and that they need to take it up with Vodafone.
Called Vodafone who said they would sort it out and call me back. Once again they established there was no debt and couldnt understand why NRG had the file.
Never got the call back, I rang them back complained again about the lack of call backs. They reiterated that it had been sorted and that there was no Debt.
Fast forward to 2012. ( I thought it had been sorted.)
March 2012 Apply for credit card with my bank and get declined due to a default on my creditfile.
Do a Veda credit check and discover vodafone have defaulted me for the $1300
Call Vodafone and once again I am told there is no debt. I tried to get my history from the consultant and after alot of arguing I manage to get this info.
April 2011 Default placed against my name.
August 2011 Handset Is finally logged in properly. Aparantly due to a mistake / mistakes in the warehouse the data was never sent to another department of vodafone. (not sure how it works exactly consultant was very vague)
The default against my name was suppose to be withdrawn but for what ever reason it wasn't.
I asked the consultant if I could have a full history of my corespondance with them so I might better be able to sort things out with my bank and I was refused.
I was told Sorry. I will email you a letter about there is no outstanding debt, and the default has been recalled. ( sorry about the wording cant remember exactly what he said.
I estimate I have spent 15+ hours on the phone trying to sort this out over 2 years.

No Telstra 4G and 3G service in Broadbeach tonight. Glad I still got my Vodafone dongle, getting quite reasonable speeds here at Jupiters Casino - doing an on-line product demo, 1am :) lol

Over the last year the reception issues have gotten to the point i can only txt message from my house and ONLY if i hold my phone near the front windows.. I have nearly thrown my phone in frustration at the drop outs and delays in txt messages... So infuriating!!!! NOW my phone has been locked to incomming calla and outgoing with no warning and my bill is not overdue!!! I have been with this company 7 years too long.. I will be investigating my rights tomorrow...
21162 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is bad reception at 20 Mar 2012 12:24:10 PM
I was on three for a couple of years for my wireless broadband and was quite happy. Soon after the vodafone takeover things went downhill fast and reception and speeds forced us over to vodafone. BIG MISTAKE AND WHAT A MESS.
I got my new usb dongle last week and the installed software, whilst installed (windows 7, modern high end pc for graphics work) would not load properly. I was informed it did not need to work through the sofware and I could connect manually which I did, but very inconsistant. Was told I have usb conflicts so was sent the pocket wifi and told this would work as I do not need usb connection. When arrived, did not work unless I used it with my usb cable. Then told my pc did not support WiFi, which they should have established before sending me the device. Even connected the speed is far, far worse than when I was on the old three network. They conclude there may be problems with the local transmitters and that they will pass on the their back room people who would contact me within 72 hours. For goodness sakes if they can not find out in a few minutes whether or not they have tower issues, they have lost the plot. Both me and my wife, she signed up with the new dongle at the same time, have spent hours every day trying to get back to where we were with Three, never mind a better speed, and we can not advise more strongly for people to stay away from this very disfunctional company. We are both out do-day to cancell our contracts and check out someone who can deliver, as this company spouts their capability but fail miserably, whilst still taking peoples hard earned dollars, and wasting their valuable time over complaint phone calls.

20 Mar 2012 12:43:51 PM: What a drama! - And I completely agree with your last statement re: time wasting. Not only do you waste money on this terrible service, the amount of time spent trying to sort out these issues is a huge waste. Most people are pretty time-poor nowadays and don't have the luxury of making multiple phone calls or waiting on call-backs for a substandard service they're paying money for! Most of the time the people that can sort these things out are only available during business hours (and even then, no guarantee it will be fixed). Insane! - hate this company.

VodaNoFone NoCommunity won't get back to you until it's too late.
The lights are on but nobody is home.
Your balance will disappear before your very eyes.
I am going to have a big fat guess and say you have a smartphone with an application running in the background which you do not know about.
Turn the application off.
If you just turn the phone off the application is still chewing out your credit.
My advice is throw away your smartphone and leave Vodafone forever or you will be sorry.
Smash your Vodafone SIM card
Smartphones are not called smartphones for nothing,as they are very good at eating up all your money
SMARTPHONE = DUMBPHONE+Empty Pockets
Buy an old G2 phone ,at least you have control over that phone
Vodafone does not want you to have control.

VODAFONE'S AUSTRALIAN OPERATION PUT ON THE MARKET
by:
Christian Kerr and Mitchell Bingemann
From:
The Australian March 16, 2012 12:00AM
Source: The Australian
THE owners of embattled telco Vodafone Australia are looking for buyers, industry sources say, with an abbreviated information memorandum circulating among potential purchasers in Europe and Asia.
The Australian understands that a preliminary information memorandum to test the market reaction to a sale has been circulated to cashed-up telcos and sovereign wealth funds in Asia, the Middle East and elsewhere.
Qtel, Etisalat, Korea Telecom and NTT Docomo are believed to have seen the initial sales document, as has China Telecom, a controversial potential purchaser.
"Vodafone might say no, but they are hawking it, no question," one industry source said.
Vodafone Australia and one of its two 50 per cent shareholders, Britain's Vodafone Group, vehemently deny that the mobile operation is flirting with a sale and dismiss the suggestion as rumour.
"Vodafone remains fully committed to our operations in Australia and our sole focus is on the turnaround of the business," said a Vodafone Group spokesman.
...Vodafone Australia's other 50 per cent shareholder, Hutchison Whampoa, has also said it is committed to the local operation, and managing director Canning Fok has pledged financial support through the turnaround.
"We have provided and will continue to provide extensive financial support for VHA to accelerate the work needed to ensure all of our customers in Australia enjoy state-of-the-art mobile network services," Mr Fok has said.
However, analysts and industry sources are not convinced and wonder how much money the troubled mobile carrier's shareholders can commit to it, and for how long, especially after the slew of network disasters, profit erosion and customer defections that have plagued Vodafone in the past 18 months.
The Vodafone joint venture lost $336 million in 2011 and shed 554,000 customers (taking its total subscriber base down to 7 million) as ongoing network issues and customer confidentiality breaches took their toll.
Its customer base shrank by 179,000 in the six months to December, compared with gains of 313,000 at Optus and 958,000 at Telstra over the same period.
Its deteriorating balance sheet and exodus of customers has forced Vodafone Australia to embark on a major cost-cutting program that is expected to result in hundreds of job losses as it strives to reignite its sales performance.
Even though the carrier has injected $1 billion to improve and upgrade its mobile network to lure back customers, some analysts predict two more years of losses as spectrum renewal and interest costs hit the bottom line.
Renewal of its spectrum licences is expected to cost Vodafone $710m over the next two years and that will rise to up to $2bn by 2017 once the government finalises auctions of airwaves currently used by analog TV broadcasters.
Vodafone now needed to put a lot more into capital expenditure than it had in the past "just to put a bandaid on its wounds", said one analyst who declined to be named.
"All the problems Vodafone has experienced over the last 18 months have tested its parent companies' patience and we know that Vodafone Group has sold struggling operations in the past, so you can't entirely rule out a sale," the analyst said.
China Mobile, which has almost 650 million customers and which recently set up an office in Australia, is one potential buyer of Vodafone. The Chinese giant last year reported a profit of $19bn on revenues of $80bn.
With about $US50bn ($47.7bn) in the bank and between $US16bn and $US17bn in free cashflow each year, it has the cash needed to fund an acquisition the size of Vodafone Australia.
However, analysts say the Chinese telco would be unlikely to view Vodafone as an attractive prospect because of the limited growth profile of Australia's maturing mobile market.
"China Mobile has growth aspirations but in the past three to four years they haven't made any acquisitions. I'd be surprised if they ventured into Australia anyway because all they want is growth," the analyst said.
"And I also seriously doubt that too many European carriers would want to come to Australia and compete with Telstra and Optus. Life would be very tough, unless of course Vodafone turns out to be a very cheap asset."

This basically means that their product is "not fit service". They will spend more money on advertising rather than fix their problems. Only 2 more months for me and i will be gone form them forever.

TAKE NOTE VODAFONE EXECUTIVES!
REGULATION 90 OF THE COMPETITION AND CONSUMER ACT 2010
From 1 January 2012 companies that do not comply with Regulation 90 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 when providing warranty against defects documentation to a consumer, face potential penalties.
When a supplier provides warranties with goods sold to consumers it is generally the case that companies will agree to repair or replace defective goods. Such warranties are normally set out in a warranty card accompanying the product.
Regulation 90 requires that companies must provide certain information with the warranties they provide to consumers. The information prescribed by the Regulations is extensive and includes how the consumer can claim under the warranty, details of the supplier and a mandated set of wording which sets out the consumer's rights.
The requirements only apply if the warranty against defects is made to a 'consumer'. In general, a person is a consumer if they acquire goods or services and:
the price for the goods or services is $40,000 or less; or
the goods or services in question are of a kind ordinarily acquired for personal, domestic or household useor consumption.
Failure to comply with the new warranty information requirements could expose suppliers to fines of up to $50,000 per offence for bodies corporate and $10,000 for individuals.

21137 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Billing issue at 16 Mar 2012 11:50:31 AM
I have set up 2 mobile phone plans with Vodafone on plan and has been going quiet well for over a year. MObile phone was setup using direct debit and going well for over a year. Untill it reached Oct 2011 my monthly bill started to day im outstanding payment, I call vodafone up and they said I have not paid but will be picked up next month. Few months have gone by March 2012 now I have an outstatnding bill to vodafone for over $300. I went to my online bank to check if money was taken out and surely it has been without a hitch for each month. So not only I have paid they are saying I am also outstanding at the same time? I finally got ahold of someone Australia the ecare correspondance team and for them to START investigating they request my whole bank statement.
Now due to privacy issues I went to my online bank and only gave them cut and paste days and dates and bank tracking number and withdrawal amount of the vodafone payment. She said that was not enough and still require my whole bank statement for them to start investigating. I am not after a home loan and I feel violated that they have to have my whole bankstatement they can see my savings, spending habits, income, payments and transaction that is NOT related to them. This has kept me up for few months straight now concerning me and that this level of detail was not acceptable. I have since then lodged a formal complaint to the Australian privacy comissioner. After they have checked my bankstatement the vodafone correspondence team said we have waived the overdue payments without giving a reason why it happened.
I feel violated and now insecure and have no confidence in Vodafones billing system.

17 Mar 2012 12:08:24 PM: The only items they require is the actual items directly related to them...they have no right or authority to have the whole statement...
17 Mar 2012 04:49:52 PM: They need to see that it is a whole document. black out any details not relating to the payment and then provide them the whole (but blacked out) document

Since Vodafone has removed my post off there site in regards to data speeds on the Gold Coast, on there so called stronger 850mhz wifi2 modem, I will reveal the truth of just how slow there network has been done through tests of my own.
Since I use mobilebroad at home for my internet use, I had to download 5 files total size of 1.8 gig. I started the download on Sunday morning at 3am, knowing vodas network would be quiet.
It had taken 12 hours to download 5 files, total size of 1.8 gig. The speed on average was 100kb/s from 3am till 7am, then dropped to a speed of 12kb/s from 7am till 3pm.
Further tests was also done using an old wifi1 modem which works on 2g/3G 2100mhz. I had found that there 2100mhz was fast than the 850mhz network, which would indicate that the 850mhz system was straining to cope with the amount of people on there 850mhz network.
I had checked on vodaphone network page to make sure that there system was up and running. The real problem with Vodafone on the Gold Coast Qld is that there network is not coping, and that they are happy to sell something that doesn't work.

THIS IS THE REAL REASON WHY VODACRIMS HUTCHINSON AUSTRALIA ARE OFFERING THEIR PHONEY 30 GUARANTEE,ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO HONOUR TO THEIR OWN OPBSTRUCTIVE AND CRIMINAL BEHAVIOUR.
LONG SUFFERING VICTIMS OF VODAFONE,REMIND THEM OF REGULATION 90 OF THE COMPETITION AND CONSUMER ACT 2010.
DON'T BOTHER WITH VODAFONE MUMBAI AS THEY ARE CROOKED AND CORRUPT ANYWAY.
GET YOUR SITUATION BACK INTO AUSTRALIAN HANDS TO DEAL WITH.
DOB-IN VODAFONE HUTCHINSON EXECUTIVES ANYTIME YOU WANT.

The Union government has already filed petitions seeking review of the SC's decisions - one, to set up a Special Investigation Team to unearth and bring back illegal money stashed by Indians in foreign banks; second, to quash the Rs 11,000 crore capital gains tax liability on Vodafone for acquiring Indian business through foreign route; and third, ordering fresh auction of 122 mobile telephone service licences that were cancelled on the ground of being irregularly allotted in 2008

Hi yukey119,
Do you have plans to return to Australia in the future? Cancelling your contract early will incur an early termination fee which is the remaining months of your contract times your minimum monthly spend. You can have your services cancelled by calling 1555 from your Vodafone number or if you would prefer to keep this online, I can provide to you my email contact details and complete this for you.
Otherwise, you can certainly have your current plan transferred to another person who is willing to take over your service. As the MPP for the phone can not be transferred, you will need to pay out the remaining cost of the phone. To complete a transfer of title, you will need to have an authorisation placed onto your account by either contacting customer care on 1555, a free call from your Vodafone number or by visiting your nearest store. Your friend or family member who is willing to take over the service will need to visit a store with their ID to have their account set up and your services transferred to them. The contract duration will not change as the contract is only being transferred across.

I personally admire this Paramedic and his wife who has had the courage and fortitude to tell this Discraceful Unethical Company what is,and what is not.

Well done Mr.Paramedic and his good wife,Mrs Nurse who care about prople.

Very poor Network coverage.....an hour ago 11.3.2012 11.00am
Hi There,
I have moved from 3 to Vodafone in 2011 and have had nothing but trouble with my reception. We currently have 3 plans with Vodafone - my Wife, my Son and I. I am a Paramedic, my Wife is a Nurse on call.
I use my phone for work doing Hospital notifications and daily have trouble getting reception - for medical emergencies that is definately not good enough! My Wife uses her phone for work and cannot get reception at work and she gets voice mails without her phone even ringing. My Son uses his phone for letting us know where he is after school for sports and keeping us updated whether he is home safely - many days he cannot get a hold of us and we are unable to contact him. Not good enough!
When I moved from 3 to Vodafone I had tyo give my home address in order for them to ensure I have coverage at home. I was assured of coverage before I moved. This is not the case. When my phone rings at home I have to run outside halfway up the driveway other wise I cannot be heard. Not good enough!!
I have contacted Vodafone about this and was told upgrades are underway - my bill was reduced by 25% but I still feel very ripped off. I think 25% is not good enough as I get less than 75% coverage. I cant even sit in my own home and make phonecalls. The contact centre promised me upgrades are underway and by end of March 2012 all will be good. I am making a complaint to the COMMS umbudsman and will be asking for a full refund of all 3 contracts for my past 4 bills. If there is not improvement by 31/03/2012 I will return 3 phones to my nearest Vodafone store and going to Telstra.
Definately had enough!!
Hope this stops other users from joining Vodafone.
Ben

Ben

11 Mar 2012 10:41:14 PM: There is a 30 day network guarantee for customers to use if needed. If it really took you 30 days or more to realise your reception issues, than ok lol. Apart from this, if you have a handset that is not 850MHz capable like an iPhone 3G s, than new VF new network won't mean a thing to you, and no network provider has a responsibility to provide phones, just network service, so unless eligible to upgrade, invest in an up to date phone.
12 Mar 2012 10:22:28 AM: 2nd reply, go and look at the big gigantic holes in the guarantee,it is worth less than the paper it is written on.
12 Mar 2012 12:02:52 PM: Regulation 90 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 is there not to assist Vodacrims, but to assist Vodafone Victims.
The 30 day guarantee is so badly defined,EG(Must be initiated by Vodacrims Customer NO-Care @ 1300551198.They will never initiate it because they will say you did not call them, or they, you.
Those Vodacrims have already pulled that stunt and the number does not even show on your Call History, when they call you, on your phone.
(I personally caught them out already.)

Formal Complaint Regarding Rhodes Employee.....31 minutes ago 10.03.2012 500pm
I would like to lodge a formal complaint about an employee of yours named Jason who works at the Rhodes Vodafone “Select Dealer” stall.
On Thursday the 8th of March 2012 at approx. 11am I went to this Vodafone dealer in order to talk to a sales representative about replacing my phone. I’ve been having SERIOUS problems with a 2 week old Samsung Galaxy W. Since I first purchased the handset (as a replacement for a handset I already have on a contract) it consistently failed to send text messages. This was becoming extremely frustrating as the only way I was able to send a text message once it failed was to restart the entire handset. I was doing this about 15 times a day. And after having to go to two Vodafone stores in 4 days I was told to go back to the original store that I bought it from. It was here that I encountered Jason. After explaining and showing him what my phone was doing I was met with an inexplicable and inconceivable amount of arrogance, rudeness and disrespect from this so called “employee”.
Jason asked me if I had tried turning the phone off. I said yes, I had multiple times, as this was the only way for me to get it to resend my messages. Not even bothering to make eye contact with me he grabbed my phone and switched it off, turned it back on and resent a failed message. It sent. I explained that this often happens and it is the only way I can actually get it to send text messages once they’d failed. However I can’t constantly be turning my phone on and off every time I want to send a text message. Rather than listening to me, he kept asking me “so what’s the problem?”, refusing to understand that the very thing he had seen in front of him was an issue with the handset. I continued to explain that a 2 week old handset should not be consistently failing to send text messages and I wanted the problem fixed because it was becoming very annoying. Through speaking to other Vodafone representatives at Chatswood and the QVB it had become clear that the issue was not a network or sim problem, but rather a problem with the actual phone. Yet again he reiterated “So what’s the problem” and flatly refused, with an inconceivable tone of arrogance and antipathy that there was anything wrong with my handset and I should just learn to deal with it.
I was outraged by the way this young man treated me. As a Vodafone customer for over 3 years I have NEVER been treated this way by any other Vodafone employee or by an employee of any other company. The young man refused to give me his last name. I have spoken to his manager and was told to post a formal complaint here.
This young man is not only damaging the reputation of the Rhodes dealer store, but also the reputation of the entire Vodafone community. I am still outraged at the way that I was treated by this young man, treated in this way when I had done nothing wrong and was simply trying to rectify an extremely frustrating problem with a handset that this particular store had sold me. A handset that I had paid almost 300 dollars outright for. I was helped by a female employee later, who managed to understand the problems and my handset has now been sent to Victoria for it to be assessed and either repaired or replaced. Yet all of this was done in spite of the efforts of this man. Therefore I would like to notify you of the unsatisfactory way that I was treated in the hopes that the situation can be rectified and dealt with and hopefully not happen to another customer.

Hi alexf,
Thank you for providing in detail the experience you received when visiting the Rhodes stall. This is not the experience we want our customers to have when visiting our stores and I will definitely pass on your feedback to the appropriate people.
I am relieved to see that your phone has now been sent away for assessment and either repairing or replacing. It would be great to be updated with the outcome of the assessment and if you require further assistance or have any other enquires, please feel free to post here on the community as myself or another help and support member will always be happy to assist.

Hi, I have had a real bad week with Vodafone...
First off I moved last week and there is no reception at my new house. I have two accounts with you and just bought the new Iphone 4s and they are basically worthless to me now.
Then I went overseas and just recieved a text that I owe $1500 for a one day data charge even though I never use data when I am overseas and had it turned off in my phone and had asked for it not to be enabled when I got my second account.
I am looking now at owing probably over 3k to get out of my contract and get a mobile that works. I don't want to but it seems to me the only thing is just to walk away from everything. Not sure who this goes too but hoping just maybe I can get in touch with someone who can help - calling call center did nothing except cost me more money. <NAME REMOVED>

VODAFONE will launch a national advertising campaign this weekend to spruik its new network guarantee - an opportunity for customers to quit long-term contracts in the first month if unhappy with mobile coverage.
But it is also designed to encourage customers onto the new network built at the 850 megahertz frequency.
Vodafone hopes customers will be more willing to sign contracts if they know it is easy to leave, and says it will trust customers' own satisfaction with the network. The campaign has been running in South Australia and the ACT since September and so far ''few'' people have asked to leave contracts, according to Vodafone.
Advertisement: Story continues below Vodafone Hutchison Australia has spent $1 billion on its new mobile network since the 2009 merger of Vodafone with Hutchison Telecom. About $750 million was spent last year alone.
The company has lost 600,000 customers since mid-2010 after its network struggled to carry all the data demanded by smartphones and mobile broadband customers. The new guarantee is available to new and existing customers but only if they buy a new smartphone or modem through Vodafone.
WHAT THE!!!
$750 million dollars on 'public relations' NOTHING
'THE CAMPAIGN HAS BEEN RUNNING IN SOUTH AUSTRALIA AND THE ACT SINCE SEPTEMBER AND SO FAR ''few'' PEOPLE HAVE ASKED TO LEAVE CONTRACTS, ACCORDING TO VODAFONE.'
VODAFONE WILL BULLSH.T UNTIL IT IS BANKRUPT, OR IT'S EXECUTIVES ARE GOALED FOR CORPORATE FRAUD
WHY WOULD ANYONE WITH A BRAIN AND CAN BREATH OXYGEN WANT TO BUY A SMARTPHONE OR A MODEM FROM VODAFONE.
FIRST THEY WONT SUPPLY IT FOR SEVERAL MONTHS,CHARGE YOU WHILE YOU WAIT FOR THE EQUIPMENT TO ARRIVE FROM IT'S LOST PLACE,IT WILL BE UNSERVICABLE AND THE WILL STILL CHARGE YOU,THEN WHILE THEY STEAL YOUR MONEY,AND YOU CANCEL THE ACCOUNT,A VODAFONE CUSTOMER NO SERVICE PERSON FROM MUMBAI WILL LOSE YOUR CANCELATION ORDER AND YOU WILL GET CHARGED A BREAKING THE CONTRACT .

In Mayish 2008, i paid my contract out at my local Crazy Johns here in Townsville. I paid with a credit card, mum made her payment with the same card at the same time. Now her payment went through fine but mine, somehow it got "lost".
On the 21st July 2008 my account went to Veda Advantage then on the 6th August 2008 my payment mysteriously was "found" in someone else's account.
Cherry Hubner - Account Number *****3221.
On the day it was "found" i got a text message from a Mohammed (bit silly seeming my phone is disconnected)
Now what i am disputing is this.. I paid $341.16 that day to get me out of my contract. In the months leading up to "finding" my payment another $97.48 was accumulated onto my account as it looked as if i had not paid the money.
I do not believe i should have to pay this as it is not my fault the sales assistant or whoever put the payment into the wrong account. When i first heard it had not gone in i went into Crazy Johns and asked the girl for a reciept number. The reciept number she gave me was not right either.
Thanks to a girl from my local Vodafone store i found all the info out :)

Hi Miss <<SURNAME REMOVED>>
I'm sorry to hear you want to leave Vodafone! I'd like to work with you to resolve any issues you're having with your service, so you can continue in your contract as a happy Vodafone customer! Are you able to post back with the details of the issues you're having, so I can help?
Just so you know, the cancellation fees for cancelling your service are the months left in your contract x your monthly access fee, plus any handset repayments you have. If I'm not able to resolve the issues you're having with your service, you're able to cancel your service by calling 1555, or 1300 650 410 - if you'd rather stay online, I can also cancel your service.
Once I know a little more about your issues, I will be able to help further.
Thanks,
Kirsty.

A day in the real world of Vodafone. Burleigh Heads, Robina, Gold Coast Qld. Business customer with three mobile phones. First call, 7am, 15min call while mobile, 2 dropouts. 10am no network across two phones, with one on the 850mhz network, duration over 5min, over a 4 hour period. Received email 1:00pm from head office to ring a customer, normally receive sms as well, receive sms one hour later. 2pm receive call, other party can't hear me, call dropout. 3:30pm receive next call while driving, call dropouts 2 times. 4:00pm receive another call while still, another dropout. 6:00pm receive another call, call terminated due to voice quality. 6:30pm received old emails from an 18hr period, in one go.
At Home with Vodafones new stronger wifi2 850mhz Mobile broadband. Load time to load Google page 4min, tried to get on Vodafones website, to have a bitch with them, page wont load after 5 attempts.
So just what part of there investment are they using to improve the network, because, this sort of network problems happens across most of the Gold Coast. It even gets worst on a rainy day. LOL

For the last two months nearly every day I have had emergency only signal for at least a portion of every day on the Sunshine Coast. In the last week it has been the case for most of every day. Today we had an emergency at home and couldn't get through to anyone - we had NO SIGNAL, not even emergency. We don't have a home phone because we try to support Vodafone instead of Telstra. What on earth is going on, on the Sunshine Coast???

I just received a message from 3 (so vodafone) today saying that I was to call them immediately as I had used 4.7 GB worth of internet and had to immediately pay a fee of $1,200 dollars or face my contract being indefinately suspended. Freaking out I immediately checked my internet usage as I always used Wi-Fi at home and was always on 3 reception so no romaing data charges there. Found out I had actually used 2GB worth, which is within my contract, so am now immediately phoning voda tomorrow to get that bill cancelled and have my contract terminated. If they do not cancel the bill, I'm going straight to the TIO and sticking it up voda's *** cause they are nothing more than scabs whose bills do not match the information given to their customers!

My wireless broadband doesn't work when its raining, at night time or on weekends. It took 1 hour to download a 7mb file! Thats way slower than dialup ever was. I called them and they say that I can cancel my contract but would have to pay $145 to do so. I don't think so, why should I pay for something that never works.
8 Mar 2012 02:00:49 PM: Did you get an outcome from this? I don't get any wirless broadband reception - i live in Brisbane - 4 k's from the city centre. Go figure!

BID TO SCRAP MOBILE ROAMING CHARGES FAILS
A bid to scrap all mobile phone "roaming" charges by 2014 was
defeated today, as a war of words broke out between the European
Commission and Vodafone over a continued crackdown on the sector.
Compulsory maximum roaming rates were first imposed on mobile network operators nearly five years ago to tackle what the commission called the "roaming rip-off" - the operators were said to be making profits of more than 200% for mobile calls made while in another EU country, and 300% or 400% for calls received.
"There's no need for phone companies to have any roaming charges at all," said Labour's Peter Skinner.
Meanwhile, Ms Kroes rounded on Vodafone chief executive Vittorio Colao who yesterday called for a "moratorium on regulation" in the telecoms sector, warning that mobile phone companies would cut investment in networks unless the EU stopped imposing price cuts.
Ms Kroes responded in a statement saying: "Message to Vittorio and Vodafone: I call your bluff, and indeed do not respond well to threats.
"I take the side of the Vodafone customer."
In his speech yesterday at a Mobile World Congress, Mr Colao demanded: "Does Europe need employment or does Europe need rate cuts? We should stop having this continuous intervention on prices and let the industry reinvest the money."

HERE IS ONE FOR:
Recently I moved very near to the Gabba Cricket Ground in Brisbane.
Many times no towers every day (WITH RECEPTION)
On Sunday the 4th March Australia played Sri Lanka.
I thought I would do some investigating concerning VodaNofone reception.
(LACK OF IT)
Between 430am EST right through the day, there were no towers(area)all day on the Northern side of the cricket ground.Signal stuck on 5 bars ,and it did not move.(USUALLY SIGNAL STRENGTH MOVES)
On the Southern side side it showed the tower of (East Brisbane),stuck on 5 bars,(USUALLY SIGNAL STRENGTH MOVES)
On the West side no towers and stuck on 5 bars.(USUALLY SIGNAL STRENGTH MOVES)
I thought VodaNofone is hopeless again, even in their 'SMASH EM' Promotion.
Low and behold, not one VodaNofone TV ad until 630pm and YOU GUESSED IT VodaNofone TV ads by the bucketful, right through until 830pm EST with the camera focusing on the screens behind the batsman's end with VodaNofone plastered all over it.
Yep, you guessed it again, the East Brisbane tower appeared on the phone extactly 6.33pm EST display all the way through until 8.35pm EST when the TV ads finished and the tower disappeared totally with the bars stuck on 5 again.
VodaNofone can make their CRAP NETWORK work when they want to.
Only during High Profile Blitz advertising.
The rest of the time they spend their time RIPPING you off and STEALING your money.
(COMMENT REMOVED) because it worked PERFECTLY between 6.33pm and 8.35pm while the VodaNofone ads were on.
I would rather deal with the MAFIA than VodaNofone any day, because you know the Mafia is going to rob you dead!
(PS. for all cricket fans- the live TV is about 5 seconds delayed,I knew who was bowled out,or caught out before the TV did!)

The reception in Townsville is getting worse. If a company can be a major sponsor of motor sport teams, why can't they provide a phone network that works. In the last few months the reception has gotten to the point where I don't even bother using my phone as it disconnects calls and have to repeatedly ask the other person to repeated what they said. Sms take hours to be delivered to someone if at all. Customer support have told me that I can cancel my contract but I will have to pay for the calls I have used. Virgin mobile may have my business very shortly. I was wondering if my phone was faulty but my girlfriends phone is worse than mine and it was new 1 week ago, good to see I'm not the only one who thinks Vodafone needs to do less advertising and a lot more repairing before they lose all there customers!

Now they continue to hound me for contract cancellation fee. Every letter I have responded to. Have had no reply to my correspondence.
They are now at the threatening/abusive/lying stage. Not going to pay.

Vodafone Boss Calls For Moratorium On Mobile Phone Regulation
On the eve of European vote to cut cost of using phone abroad, Vittorio Colao says move would cost jobs.
The chief executive of Vodafone, Vittorio Colao, has called for a "moratorium on regulation" in the telecoms industry, warning that unless Europe stops imposing price cuts, mobile companies will slash investment in networks.
"Regulators should stop cutting mobile termination rates, pushing down roaming prices, building funny auctions which are designed to extract more money from existing operators, and resisting industry consolidation," Colao said. "This is not a request for a moratorium on competition but a much stronger request for a moratorium on regulation.
"The reality is, we have a heaven scenario or a hell scenario," said Colao. "The hell scenario is every year we lose hundreds of millions to mobile termination rates and we reduce our investment. Investment means jobs not just in the telecoms sector, but in the media, entertainment and applications developer sectors."

1.Moratorium of regulation = Throw any laws that protect consumers out the window.

We have been on Vodafone for at least 15 years with no major problems until last year. In about October, the phone started to have a lot of interference and I blamed the handset which was replaced in early December. Since then, we have realised that we can't understand anyone who rings because the voice is garbled. We live in Townsville, a city of approx 180,000 people so you would expect reasonable service. I can get reception if I drive 25 minutes and sit on the beach! Sound like a great idea but you can't do that 24 hours a day. When will they fix it? Who knows? Any ideas for a solution?
27 Feb 2012 04:47:07 PM: I feel your pain and as much as I like the beach it is unreasonable to travel there each day to make a phone call!
As far as your issue is concerned, have you approached VF to advise VF of the problem?
If you have and the position has not improved, then your next step is to take the matter to the TIO.
TIO contact details are found at the top of the page under the How To Complain tab.
Simple on line form takes a mere 5 minutes to complete, VF then have 10 working days to respond, the VF response may be an investigation into the network in Townsville with a set time period for improvement or other alternatives.

Using the telephone credit card recharge option for 2 or more years no. Suddenly 2 months ago it failed, taking my cash and not giving me my credit. So I have to wait til the payment clears.
-3 Day wait-
Then fax (yes, fax) off a statement and details explaining that I want the money refunded.
-5 BUSINESS Days wait -
They then acknowledge its their fault, and will refund
- 5 MORE business days wait-
So i was $80 out of pocket for 3 weeks (and I'm a uni student, hardly made of money).
OK pain in the ass, but accidents happen. Then last week, it happens AGAIN! 2/3 most recent recharges. FML. Hope vodafone goes under and CEO's end up on the street.
Cant wait to move to Telstra

20957 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is A blackhole at 25 Feb 2012 02:00:22 PM
Has anyone else experienced the blackhole that is Vodafone handset
insurance? I am needing some urgent help resolving an issue with them.
A month ago I walked into a Vodafone store and asked for assistance
making an insurance claim for my broken handset.
I was told Vodafone don't handle the insurance themselves, and to
contact the insurance company.
When I tried to call the insurance company, their call centre was out
and so I had to submit the claim online.
After waiting a week without response, I finally rang the insurance
company, and this time their call centre was working, so they gave me
a claim number and asked me to drop my phone into a store. So I did
that evening.
10 days later I call the insurance company to find out what was
happening, as I hadn't heard anything from them. They informed me that
they haven't received the phone from the store, they ask me to contact
the store to find out what happened to the phone.
I looked up the store on Vodafone's website, and called the listed
number. It went through to Vodafone's call centre, at which point I
asked to be transferred to the store. The call centre employee first
refused, then claimed to be unable, then claimed to be unauthorised. I
then asked for the phone number for the store, and was refused again.
I then asked to be transferred to someone who might be able to either
transfer me, or provide me with a number to call. Once again he
refused me, at which point I asked him for his name, so I could lodge
a complaint, at which point he hung up on me.
I then appealed to the social media team via Twitter. For the past
week I have been dealing with them trying to find out where my handset
has disappeared to.
Yesterday they let slip that they haven't even tried contacting the store
yet; that they have been spending the past week trying to contact the
insurance company.
On Monday I don't expect any progress; rather, I expect I'll be
contacting the TIO. Still, if anyone has any advice on how to get
Vodafone to resolve issues like this, I would be very appreciative.

Hi, I have purchased 3 Vodafone subscriptions on the 13th of Jan that I cancelled (all) on the 29th, as Vodafone could not provide me usable network even in Brisbane CBD. (Actually the Vodafone network experience is the worst in my life, even if compared to mobile networks in Africa)
I returned all devices in their original condition to a Vodafone store where I got a form statin that I cancelled the contract via their Network Guarantee.
yesterday evening I almost died when I saw their AUD 2000 invoice with early termination fees... and they will charge this onto my credit card, there is no way to block it.
I feel this is pure theft - if advertising a guarantee that is not applied at all is tolerated in Australia then the legal system here is a joke...
Customer service obviously does not help, they always have different excuses, they seem to be creative...but I am not against the idea to go to the Vodafone shop with a huge poster on my back with this story for 1-2 weekend days (let's see how many customers the will lose if I do this)

Clearly its just somethign in their system that fucked up or wasnt applied properly. and what do you mean there is no way to block it, get them to delete your credit card details from their system before they charge it your credit card.
to the first commenter the ACMA is a government body, the legal system is the courts.

19 Feb 2012 02:51:12 PM: To the poster above:
The OP clearly stated in their post:
I returned all devices in their original condition to a Vodafone store where I got a form statin that I cancelled the contract via their Network Guarantee.
So the store staff perhaps did not do everything they can to fix it, otherwise the OP would not have been invoiced for $2000......hardly rocket science........is it?

19 Feb 2012 03:03:32 PM: or the staff did everything they can (sending the completed form to the team that handles the network guarantee claims) and it was either processed improperly, or some box wasnt checked. i doubt the staff just lazily didnt submit it, or someone tried to just forget it and hope the OP didnt notice the $2000. what im saying is that people on this site act as if the VF staff are malicious. They are just doing their jobs
19 Feb 2012 03:43:48 PM: @19 Feb 2012 03:03:32 PM: So we agree then, somebody (not the customer) stuffed up and did not properly do their job, by either not properly processing the form to the network team or not checking some box........hardly a sign of data entry or quality control.
You are the first person to use the word malicious on this thread and the coup de grace you say they are just doing their jobs......seems to me they need more training to do the job correctly otherwise the OP would not be left with a worrying $2000 invoice!
Or am I missing something here?

20 Feb 2012 07:44:41 PM: I have contacted Vodafone, they asked 48 hours to sort this out... Let's see, but time is ticking. On Wednesday at 10 a.m. I will submit my complaint to the TIO...
21 Feb 2012 03:13:34 PM: Issue solved now, total claims are now 0$. Most efficient way was to write onto their Facebook wall - they reacted to that immediately and effectively! Good luck for everyone and thanks for the advice!

18 Feb 2012 07:07:45 PM: lol normal?
clearly something f***ed up in their systems and the guy wasnt placed in a que. Normal? i have waited for an hour and a half (and i know thats no the longest wait time) to speak to the vodafone call centre but i have also waited 4 hours to speak to virgin, 2 hours to speak to telstra, 3 hours to speak to singapore airlines, 2 hours to speak to optus. All call centres have long wait times sometimes.
This whole site confuses me, most of the crap people complain about i have experienced just as often on telstra and optus than i have on vodafone, seems to me like people just want to bitch and moan.

The vodafone network in the Gold Coast has been useless for all of friday 17/02/2012. No bars showing on HSPDA so I tried limiting to the GSM band and it didn't help this time.
20889 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Major failure at 16 Feb 2012 08:54:49 PM
Dont believe what you read about towers going up in your area. You can prove this yourself by downloading on Android an app that tells you the cell ID in your area. I have driven around the Gold Coast and discovered that my phone will pickup a tower and lock into that tower. I can drive a radius of 15klm of that tower before it switches over to another tower. Now this is where it gets interesting, sometimes when I dial a landline number I get a recording saying the number is incomplete, once I add the area code it connects. I recently broke down and contacted RACQ, only to have the RACQ tell me that there system shows I called from NSW, I was a good 20klm from the NSW border, which would also explain why I had to put an area code into a local number. So how can Vodafone state that they have towers everywhere, if I'm accessing tower in another state. Even stranger, I drive over the Gold Coast everyday for work, and I never see anyone working on a tower, or building one. Maybe they have one tower that covers 5 to 10 suburbs, but state on their site as individual towers, to give the impression they have heaps of towers. This could explain why my Android App only reads a handful of towers for the whole of the Gold Coast. If so this is why we have dropouts, no data, bad reception. Maybe their only increasing the capacity to handle more calls on a handful of towers.
20881 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Total fail at 16 Feb 2012 10:22:05 AM
I am not a vodaphone customer, I am on another network but I cant text my friends on vodaphone because when I try to send texts to my vodaphone friends they either do not get them or I get a message on sending that says failed. What is wrong with vodaphone? I thought blocking texts like that was illegal!
20878 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Calls drop in and out at 16 Feb 2012 07:38:23 AM
Since January 2012 kallangur in Queensland has become aa vodaphone dead zone. making calls has become impossible due to it constantly dropping in and out or just dropping out totally. I'm over been told my phone is the problem when my wifes phone and friends of ours who leave 5 min away are having the exact same issues.
Where is this so called new network they are spruiking apparently on their website our suburb has been upgraded. ARRRRGGHH!!!

VODAFONE'S NEW NETWORK OF HORRORS
I am still checking the RECEPTION (bars) and towers in brisbane.
last week:
thurs 09/02/12 6-10am
fri 10/02/12 6-10am
sat 11/02/12 6-10am
sun 12/02/12 6-10am
My study showed MOST NO SERVICE/BAD RECEPTION/POOR RECEPTION by viewing the area'a or towers on my handset in these hours.
1.Between 10 minutes to the hour(worst)
2.On the hour to about 30 minutes past the hour each day.(worst)
The bars fluctuated between 1-5 bars whilst standing still.
The towers fluctuated from under the tower where I am at, to wild extremes to towers 12kms away.
It was wild fluctuation.
In this timeframe I counted about 100 times where my handset showed 1 bar and no towers.
100 times 2 bars and no towers
100 times 3 bars and no towers
100 times 4 bars and no towers
On many ocassions 0 bars and no towers
On many ocassions towers with many fluctuations 1-3 bars.
My conclusion is that any crap, that comes from mouths of the 1555 MUMBAI Vodafone NO CUSTOMER SERVICE, about how there is no reception problem, is just what it is .....CRAP!!!
I have to think ,is Vodafone removing the towers, one by one,not building them.

I read a big sign on the side of a bus a couple of days ago in Brisbane advertising Telstra Mobile network. The big sign went something like this.
'So you want to choose a Smartfone?'
'Dont choose a Dumb Network'
Obviously Telstra was referring to VODAFONE!
I think Telstra got it a little wrong.

Vodafones network rollout page has been updated monthly since November and each time the network upgrade has been pushed back a month in Ormeau. The new 850Mhz site should have been online 3 months ago and now it's going to be done by the end of March. Yeah right... VodaFAIL time and time again. My contract is up in March and I have a 50% discount on my monthly until then, but the problem is that 50% off a piece of sh1t, still gives you half the stink...

20816 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is DOING DELIBERATE RECEPTION INTERFERENCE at 8 Feb 2012 02:26:21 PM
I have studied the towers and reception bars on my handset for days now, around Brisbane, paying heavy attention to how the towers(area's) jump all over the place from one extreme to the other.
Within a minute, I could be under one tower,(5 bars)then shoot off to a tower,12 kms away with 1 bar, then the next, a tower 2kms away with(2 bars),then a tower 7kms away with 3 bars, then nothing,no tower no bars, then under the tower which I live (5 bars) then away to the tower 10kms away with (1 bar)......
This is all within one minute.
To take a study over 5 minutes this will get crazy!!!!
Easy to see why a Vodafone engineer takes days, weeks, and months to figure out nothing, when you ring Mumbai waiting for your answer.
Then have to ring again ,and again, and again.
SIMPLE!
Vodafone knows that they are stealing from you, because there is No Way In Hell Vodafone will supply an authorised Vodafone engineers report to any Austalian Authority.
It would get shot down in flames in any court!!!!!!!!!

8 Feb 2012 04:03:57 PM: Exert from story from Sydney Morming Herald 25thJanuary 2012
Vodafone Hutchison Australia was born in June 2009, after Vodafone merged with '3' Hutchison.
VHA faces several financial challenges this year, including a potential $670-million bill to renew its 800-megahertz spectrum licence. It also has $3 billion worth of loans due in June 2013. VHA borrowed funds from 12 banks in June 2010 to repay loans of $1.25 billion from each parent company, and pay Vodafone a $500-million merger equalisation fee.
Vodafone needs your money, anyway they can get it.
BEG, BORROW, OR STEAL IT.
They may not have a Mobile Spectrum Licence this year.
a.government decides not to licence this absolute reckless telco.
b.Vodafone will not have the money to pay for the licence.
c.The ACCC will bring criminal charges against Vodafone executives.

[For the six months to the middle of 2011, Vodafone revealed in August, it actually lost some 375,000 mobile customers, with the besieged mobile telco struggling to shake off poor customer sentiment stemming from its disastrous series of network outages in late 2010 and early 2011. Some 110,000 of those lost customers were due to a change in the way Vodafone reports its customer numbers, however.

The only thing, that Vodafone changes, is that it gets worse, and worse, and worse.
It's public relations stories get taller, and taller, and taller.
It's network and corparate behaviour gets lower, and lower, and lower.

i was on holidays in sunshine coast jan 2012 and was billed for roaming calls and data in a area where i could use a redbullmobile sim which is a reseller for vodafone and not have any data or roaming charges, lucky i purchased a redbull mobile sim card to use otherwise my bill would have been much much higher than the $110 i was charged for roaming, i have since stayed on redbull mobile paid the $365 for 365 days unlimited call to landlines 1800 1300 and mobiles, and 5G a month on data, and have paid out vodafone for the 3 months i had left on my contract. strange vodafone are charging 3 for areas that were never charged as roaming before and not roaming with redbull mobile. Seems like vodafone want to shut down the 3 network in a hurry.

If you check this page
http://vodafone.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail_network/a_id/3730
It looks like most of South QLD has network issues, and according to the report engineers are on the case. It does take some time to work out why the failure and then to rectify, suggest switching your phone off for around 10 secs, and then back every 30 mins or so..
There is not much else that you can do. Switching it off and on forces the SIM to recheck for network, if it gets resolved and you haven't, it may still appear that the network is unavailable.

20807 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is frustrating fail at 8 Feb 2012 08:42:08 AM
It appears there is no service on the Sunshine Coast with SOS only option available. I appreciate that issues will inevitably arise with the service but surely an immediate update to the vodaphone website alerting people to this issue, and/or email advice advising the issue and likely remedy time/date would reduce the frustration people are feeling by continually trying to problem solve it themselves. Even a message on the local radio stations for the announcers to simply give a heads up to customers of the poor service would be greatly appreciated by vodaphone users. So, when will it be fixed vodaphone? At least give us some customer feedback if you can't provide service at the moment!

20782 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Poor Customer Service at 6 Feb 2012 08:22:34 AM
To say I am in a mess with Vodafone now,is a bit of a stretch. HOWEVER,due to their repair departments lack of effiency and one of their store managers telling an out and out lie to my face,I am now going to break my contract with them and go elsewhere.
On the 6th of December I took my HTC Legend which was no longer working to the nearest Vodafone shop, because I thought there was something wrong with it that would be covered by warranty(the phone was only 8 months old)Anyway the guy in the shop said that the phone had a cracked LCD screen, which is not a warranty issue(as if I needed to be told it was not a warranty issue)After going home and ringing my insurance company,I returned and left the phone at the shop to be sent for repairs. The insurance ocmpany wanted a quote on repair costs or if it could not be repaired, the replacement cost.Within a few days I had the quote and put it in to the insurance company. They gave me the go ahead for repairs on the 16th of December and I immediately rang the repair centre to confirm repairs could go ahead.I also told them I would be going away and would not be able to collect the phone until around the 30th of Decememer. The person I spoke to said that this was not problem as it could be held for up to 90 days at the shop.Anyway whilst I was away I got about 3 SMS telling me my phone was ready to pick up.I rang the repair centre on the 27th of December and told them I would collect the phone NOW IT WAS REPAIRED no later then the 1st of January.I went to the store to collect it on the 30th and noticed it had not been repaired, only to be told that I had rejected the quote, which is garbage,it is an insurance claim and they knew I had not rejected anything. The man at the shop said he would send it away that afternoon(30/12) and it would be back the following Friday(6/1) as there was a one week turn around.SO back to the shop I go on the 6th,only to find that the phone had not even been sent away.According to the sales staff I spoke to I had rejected the quote.Turns out that the man I had spoke to the previous week was the store manager and he had stood there and lied to my face.I retrieved my phone and took it elsewhere for repairs and finally got it back a few days ago.I have complained long and loud about the whole episode and their "good will" gesture is to offer me two months credit. So I will stay with them long enough to use the credit and then I am going to break my contract and go elsewhere.I have been with Vodafone for many years and have never really had any problems(some signal loss at times excepted) but never again.Seems to me they are losing a lot of customers for any number of different reasons but the biggest reason is poor service.

7 Feb 2012 10:50:50 AM: do a prepaid test on other networks before you resign with another network, its much cheaper buying a prepaid to see if networks are better than one you where using, i had very little coverage in my area with optus, very good coverage with telstra but calls way to expensive, but purchased redbullmobile which use vodafone network which was as good as telstra in the areas i need to use phone, so do a bit of homework before you resign.
7 Feb 2012 07:19:44 PM: Thanks for your reply. In the area I live in I know a few people with Optus, who have no trouble. This also applies to Telstra.Unfortunately as I want an iPhone 4s,which is unavailable on prepaid through any company that I can find, this is not an option.Optus is slightly cheaper then Telstra and offers a better deal on the plan I am thinking of going on to.Voda is not too bad reception wise in the area I am in,but there are call drop outs at times.I have been looking at a number of options over the past few weeks, including buying the iPhone outright and going prepaid to be sure.Just the phone in MUCH cheaper if I get it on contract.

We live approximately 6 km from Brisbane CBD. We cannot accept or make telephone calls on our mobiles within our house or yard. We can sometimes take calls standing on the front first level porch but the calls always fail intermittently during the call. Our internet is the same, patchy and intermittent. Having a phone plan that does not allow you to use the phone in your own home is beyond frustrating.

Here is something I noticed about reception yesterday, which someone might have some idea on?
Whilst having a cool ale to cool down, I had used the handsets ability to tell me what 'TOWER' or 'CELL AREA' I was in.
(For those who dont know, many handsets display what area you are in, by way of sreet, area, suburb,or some notable building in your town or city.)
Well, as I sat perfectly still in the same chair,in a matter of 5 minutes I sliced through a dozen different CELLS or TOWERS and I did'nt move an inch.
Is this a process when one tower gets overloaded, you get pushed to the next one, and the next one,or is it a clever manouvre to kid you into believing that the VODAFAILED Network is working OK by showing you 5 bars on you mobile device?
The furtherest CELL AREA I got got was 4km away and this is a big major city with many towers every half blocks of the city.
Anyone got any answers on that one?

4 Feb 2012 12:20:04 PM: AAHHH!!! I studied it a bit further.
The CELL AREA or TOWERS now stretch out to 10km away(2 BARS) then the TOWER I am under(5 bars) then 12 km away(1 bar) then 7 km away(3 bars)
This happens many times each minute!!!!
WHAT IS HAPPENING IS THE THE WHOLE NETWORK IS SO SCREWED UP YOU ARE GETTING DROP OUT CALLS VERY OFTEN.
I have studied this for a few days now and the proof is there.
VODAFONE IS STEALING FROM ITS CUSTOMERS WITHOUT ANY DOUBT WHATSOEVER

Was told by the staff at the shop in cairns that we would get great 3g coverage
Paid for a recharge for 2 prepaid sims and it doesnt work unless we walk up the road and dodge cars and trucks and cane toads
Thankgod we dont have to rely on them.. and had a fall back to optus (prepaid) and our telstra (work) mobiles
And I used to be a voda reseller back in 1995 and they where great! Seems they missed the boat!!!

Vodafone took out the monthly auto-recharge TWICE from my account on the one day. I have wasted literally hours attempting to get my money back, via phone calls and emails. Vodafone continues to give me the run-around, eventually acknowledging that the mistake is indeed theirs, but putting up every block imaginable to prevent me from getting my refund. I am tired of being treated so contemptibly, and have filed a complaint with the TIO. Of course, by this stage I am sceptical about how effective the TIO will be in assisting me. Maybe my only hope is media coverage.
26 Jan 2012 03:38:56 PM: Let me assure you, once the TIO is advised VF do take notice!
If they do not then return to the TIO after 10 working days and tell the TIO there has not been a resolution, use your original TIO reference number.

When is the broadband actually going to match or (holding breath...) exceed dial up rates in Morayfield, QLD? I am sick of perpetually jumping thro rings of fire for their bloody Indian help desk just to prove each time that lack of Mobile Broadband is due to network failure and NOT my equipment. They keep telling me that they will call to advise progress on network rectification but the call NEVER comes & the broadband fails yet again.....

have finally left!!! how funny they sent me out a survey to complete, but i never heard anything else from them cant even open my final bill cause its on their myvodafone site and my account is closed so cant log in, figure that out...
copy of what i wrote to them:
"lousy reception.
being lied to about how they were improving the network.
disorganisation, incompetence with billing, for example:
not billed for 2 months from direct debit, then billed for 3 months in one hit...
then when wanting to cancel;
1) calling and not being able to get through,
2) leaving an email on the site and not getting a reply
3) visiting a shop and being told to call the help line!!!
i then went ahead and ported my number to other provider.
then got texts and emails from vodafone saying they were experiencing a large volume of enquiries and would be getting back to me... which never happened.
then receiving abill for $150 in the text of an email but with no attachment. I tried going onto the website but of course my phone number wouldnt work as log in as it was no longer with vodafone!
so i went into the shop and asked if they could print out my bill so i knew what it was for. they couldnt log into my account either and said i'd have to call vodafone.... wtf!!!
so i call and left a message as they were too busy as usual. some guy calls back and says he'll take care of it and email my bill out within a week. 3 weeks later nothing...
so even if the service or reception was adequate, and the price more competitive, i still would not stay just due to the lack of customer service and thier ability to stuff everything up constantly!
no regrets and never coming back"

You know what?
they will probably send you a bill to say you owe them mega$$$$$$$$$$
I have come to the conclusion that you get the TIO to close the account .
There are many ,many, cases wher a customer has demanded their accounts closed and the customer NOservice Curry Muncher from MUMBAI has said yes it is closed.
Then you get another round of bills next month, you close it again, they say yes it is closed,THEN YOU GET ANOTHER ROUND OF BILLS!!!!!

I am a 62 year old who was given my first mobile phone for Christmas. It came with a $30 prepaid. I want to use an app called golf shot which uses GPS to indicate distance from the green. The app does not work but works for many others at the course I play on.
Trying to get assistance from Vodaphone is well near impossible. I'm sure their call centre is based overseas because it is much harder for people like me to complain. I will never do business with them again.

26 Jan 2012 10:24:01 AM: Without knowing which app or handset, have you checked whether there are any software updates for the app? Sometimes glitches are fixed in subsequent app software updates and it could be that your friends have already updated theirs (even automatically) so it hadn't occurred to them. I'm not sure this is a Vodafone problem, but getting your head around where the problem might be can be infruriating when it's all new. See if one of your friends can check it out - shout them a coffee or something. Alternatively, you might be able to uninstall and then reinstall (depending on what you paid for it of course). If it's the Golfshot: Golf GPS that's reasonably pricey for an app ($31.99) so you don't really want to uninstalling it without knowing what you're doing. It's had good reviews though :-)
26 Jan 2012 10:26:28 AM: Sorry, I meant to finish off by saying see if you can find a friend or a friend of a friend who knows how to install, sync and update these things. Good luck.

Long story short. I migrated from 3. Was apprehensive and should have listened to my gut, but I was offered a 59 dollar cap with a free iphone. I have received 3 bills, each charging $10 for the iphone.
I have called them 6 times. At first I was called a liar and that I had it wrong, it took three days and two more conversations to get them to admit to fault. I was assured that I would receive a $20 dollar credit immediately on my account for the current bill and the previous and would only be debited the reviewed amount from my credit card. They didn't apply the credit and I was debited the full amount, I call again. This time to be told that I should have been credited and that they are unable to do it. Another department would need to do this the following day.
I have now received my third bill. No credit on my account and still being over charged. I want out!

I am still on "Three" and have been assured a great deal etc. etc.
I had also heard that the service quality would improve...

I went to Chadstone's Vodafone outlet this afternoon for a $29 Cap, 12 months plan with Nexus S. And I was declined because of my employment period. The agent informed me that it was declined because it needs to be employed for at least 6 months.
Hi Raihan,
I apologise, I am unable to offer assistance as you did not meet Vodafone's credit criteria, however, you are more than welcome to re apply after 60 days from when the last credit check was performed.
In the mean time have you considered having a friend or family member apply for you? After 60 days, you can then have the service transferred into your name if another credit check is successful.
Thanks,
