Dear visitor,

Since its inception Vodafail.com has made a significant contribution towards raising awareness of the problems and issues faced by Vodafone customers.

Vodafone Australia customers have had the opportunity to voice their concerns, their fears and their troubles from every corner of Australia and beyond our borders. You have gathered the courage to stand up for your rights as consumers and to make your voice heard.

Each and every person who shared their story should have a sense of pride in this achievement and the changes that have occurred since the start of Vodafail.com.

More recently, traffic to Vodafail.com has declined significantly. Having achieved the goal of raising awareness and promoting concrete action in early 2011, we have now reached the point of closing Vodafail to new complaints. The site will remain online for as long as possible as a reminder and an example of what is possible when we share our experiences.

It has been a privilege to run this initiative and I'm am forever grateful for the help and support I've received. In particular I would like to thank Melissa, David and Travis for their continued efforts over the past 15 months. I'm also thankful and humbled by the support of ACCAN, Choice magazine and a wide range of media outlets, blogs and websites.

You can still browse existing stories and find out how to file a complaint if you are experiencing problems.

Until next time,

Adam Brimo

20900 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Painfully slow mobile broadband in Leichhardt NSW 2040 at 18 Feb 2012 09:05:55 PM
Live in Leichhardt NSW 2040, close to parramatta road, (near lewisham/petersham) - a main road subject to sydney's peak hour congestion, about 7 km from Sydney CBD. During peak hour mobile Internet / phone Internet will barely connect. Outside of these times I usually get 4 to 10 kb/ s download. once at 3am I got close to 180kb/s when I thought I would skype family overseas. I was strongly encouraged by my 3 provider to move to vodafone as the new network would have enhanced coverage and a better experience. Well actually it is a hundreds of times worse - and this is 3 we are talking about.

I know they are talking about upgrading sydney's inner west in march 2012, but what I would like to know what are decent benchmarks. What should I expect during peak traffic times and off peak traffic times? I would even be happy with 200 to 500 kb/s. All well and good that they tell me all will be better after the upgrade - but what is the realistic line in the sand that I would be justified in knowing that I was being taken for a ride and made the biggest fool of.

Fingers crossed, maybe the capacity in our area will be smartly increased and I will be enjoying 1to2 MB/s by april. Until then I will be enjoying the same speeds of my 14.1 dial up modem which I had in 1990s, while using Netscape. Oh what memories - can see the star spin around that N with lightning speed and hear that electronic symphony as the modem connected. If only my wifi 2 could do the same.....
19 Feb 2012 11:26:41 AM: Have you reported the lack of speed to VF?

If so what did they say?

Are you prepared to wait until an upgrade is complete?

Personally I would not wait, why should you pay for a non-existent service?

If you are prepared to wait, fine and hopefully there may be an improvement in the service, if not then report the matter to VF, let VF do their investigations with resolution. If still no better take the matter to the TIO.

An alternative provider that can deliver a service may be your only answer.

TIO contact details at the top of the page under the How To Complain tab.
