Dear visitor,
Since its inception Vodafail.com has made a significant
contribution towards raising awareness of the problems and issues faced
by Vodafone customers.
Vodafone Australia customers have had the opportunity to voice their concerns, their fears and their troubles from every corner of Australia and beyond our borders.
You have gathered the courage to stand up for your rights as consumers and to make your voice heard.
Each and every person who shared their story should have a sense of pride in this achievement and the changes that have occurred since the start of Vodafail.com.
More recently, traffic to Vodafail.com has declined significantly.
Having achieved the goal of raising awareness and promoting concrete action in early 2011, we have now reached the point of closing Vodafail to new complaints.
The site will remain online for as long as possible as a
reminder and an example of what is possible when we share our experiences.
It has been a privilege to run this initiative
and I'm am forever grateful for the help and support I've received. In
particular I would like to thank Melissa, David and Travis for their
continued efforts over the past 15 months. I'm also thankful and humbled by the support of ACCAN, Choice magazine and a wide range of media outlets, blogs and websites.
You can still browse existing stories and find out how to file a complaint if you are experiencing problems.
Until next time,
Adam Brimo

21188 Someone from SA thinks vodafone is three roaming ends? at 23 Mar 2012 03:29:00 PM
Message on my Telstra phone that the 3 roaming ends on 31st august 12 so does that mean that the 3telstra GSM roaming also finishes on this date? dont know as VHA have yet to inform customers of the end date for the 3 brand in AU.
I would appreciate VHA letting me know asap when the 3 brand finishes and the Telstra GSM roaming stops.

24 Mar 2012 04:51:06 PM: Yes - the 3 roaming ends on 31 August 12. As I have registered my mobile on the Do Not Call register then VHA cannot officially inform me! LOL. By that time I will have moved away from VHA.

I own an iPhone 4, and only about 50% of my calls actually connect, the other 50% are either sent to my voicemail if they are incoming calls, or I have to redial twice, sometimes three times before my call will go through. I have four bars of signal continuously throughout my house and I also have employed the use of the iPhone bumper. I don't understand how a network like this can fail so much in a technological world such as ours.
Additionally, I rang vodafone about this problem about 3 months ago, and they said that no fix would be available in the foreseeable future, but gave me 50% off of my phone bill (ironically).
Since then, the network status page has been updated to include my area in the list of "towers to be built in 2011".
However, no matter how good the reception is after they build the tower, I'll be leaving vodafone at the end of my contract, never to return again.

30 Apr 2011 09:26:11 PM: The fault you're experiencing is with the handset itself. The iPhone 4 has an operating system that can sometimes have trouble connecting to the network, though it can be dependent on the handset itself. It has something to do with the fact that the iPhone attempts to draw a great deal of bandwidth from your nearest towers, and when there isn't a great deal available it continues to try to its own demise. This can be proved by turning off 3G and cellular data in your network settings. You will find your reception will visibly improve. If you are willing, head into a store and have them send it away for repair on the basis of reception and network faults. The handset will more than likely be replaced, which will hopefully fix the problem. Unfortunately until the network is updated to cope with the fault it cannot be fixed.

Lara LAra BLOODY LARA we dont want to hear you on a MESSAGE machine we WANT to HEAR YOU IN REAL LIFE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE WE ARE NOT UNDERSTANDING YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE TEAM FROM BOMBAY MUBAI OR WHERE EVER THE HELL THEY ALL ARE HELLO LANGUAGE BARRIER ALERT WHOS WITH ME?
29 Dec 2010 08:05:02 PM: apparently no one you racist bogan
5 Jan 2011 09:20:48 PM: well sometimes its from india and sometimes its local, both personally i found Indian service way better. they also give me call credit if thereare any complaints
5 Jan 2011 11:08:37 PM: I completely agree with the comment above, being annoyed that "Customer Service" is being handled by people who are not fluent in your language is NOT customer service. while the person above is emotive and angry he does'nt use racism. Racism would be saying "I this the Indian customer service team are a bunch of idiots". I bugs me how so many topics have become socially tabo under the "racism" flag.
6 Jan 2011 11:32:41 AM: getting ripped off with lousy service isnt anything to do with racism, having people ill equipped to perform a job with language issues is the most frustrating experience ever..Lets face it as Aussies we tend to call a spade a spade if we are unhappy we tend to voice it in the most basic and verbal manner. If that is racism you may want to look at your own interpretation of the politically correct handbook which coming from my experience is hell bent on pandering to those that believe it is possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.
6 Jan 2011 02:58:00 PM: hahaha RACIST BOGAN
6 Jan 2011 04:05:38 PM: @6 Jan 2011 01:32:41 PM:I feel genuinely nauseated after reading you verbose reply- you "Aussie"- hardly "the most basic and verbal manner". In fact, it resembled basic slick PR Politician spin, with an ante-diluvian attitude and hidden agenda- so, wild guess, you're "underemployed" after we Aussies flushed away the Little Turd on November 24 2007?
Or overworked spamming for Voodoofone? You tell me, you "Aussie". BTW, most of us write it as WE say it- "Ozzie"
ref: "Ozzie ozzie ozzie oy oy oy" (May be somewhere in VF's cricket promo footage)

26 Apr 2011 08:16:43 PM: Aussie is correct I believe we are on a Website not a Cricket match. I also have an issue with understanding who I talk to when trying to make a complaint to Vodaphone. How can someone try to help you if they cannot understand you and you can't understand them !!!!!! This is not racism it is just FACT....
6438 Someone from SA thinks vodafone is Complete FUCKING ASSHOLES! at 28 Dec 2010 11:25:30 AM
I work all over SA, no matter where I go I have the worst service known to man kind. Trust me, I didn't sign a contract for a piece of fucking shit. In normal conditions I can receive no reception for up to 8 hours in metropolitan Adelaide. Furthermore, their 3G data services are a fucking joke. I know I didn't ask about the cunt full of cold water service when I first signed up.
Plus, add to this the standard Vodafone bullshit like having a different contract version on their site than they made me sign (the online one doesn't include their obligations to me) the one that I signed did. Fuck you ASSHOLES! Ring up to ask for the contract? No worries with a 53 MINUTE WAIT! WHAT THE FUCK!

I was actually a happy customer with 3 phone company, for about 3 years getting excellent coverage because they used telstra towers. In feburary I signed my daughter up on a plan . 3 never mentioned they where merging with VODA PHONE, once they merged with VODA PHONE ,It all started going down hill. 3 kept telling me it was going to get better this started in feburary,I made several attempts to speak to them and they kept giving me different excuses, then I foumd out they where with VODA PHONE which we could never get where I live hence why I went with 3.I rely on my phone to get my work and in the end was getting no work for months they cost me alot of money in missing work. It got to september and I was totally fed up so rang the telecomunications ombudsman and if it wasnt for them getting 3 to cancel my 2 contracts I had I dont know what I would have done. I feel for everyone out there that is having to put up with this crap. I am now with telstra and will never go back . 3 ruined it all by merging with VODA PHONE.phone companys need to be more honest and loyal to there customers.
3571 Someone from SA thinks vodafone is Very fail for mobile internet at 27 Dec 2010 04:21:03 PM
Fortunately I am out of this mess now and have Optus mobile internet and it works. That is why I am connected to the internet. My Vodafone mobile internet connection worked reasonably for the first six months of my two year contract. Then it got bad. I called and they told me it was because of my Norton Anti Virus. As I am not majorily IT savvy, I believed them.
A few months later, I had some time and I actually switched off my Norton and there was no change.
The crap ' I will work when I feel like' availability worsened over the next 6 months. It got to the stage where if often wouldn't even work FULL STOP. When it did 'work', it frequently cut out and it was never possible to have more than one webpage open at a time. I had to keep my mobile phone and other devices in another room to reduce its issues.
After more frustration, I was home on a TOIL day and I called vodafone again and was told that someone would call me back and let me know about the network coverage. Gee what a surprise, no call back.
Towards the end of my contract, I started getting calls from the salespeople (obviously trying to get me to sign up again). I told them about the issues and they made absolutely no effort to help me even though I had been paying $50 a month for internet that rarely worked.
It was at the stage where I would go and fill up the sink and wash a few dishes while waiting for the internet to change pages. What a joke, then it would usually cut out anyway.
I didn't bother trying a telecommunications ombudsman or others as I figured they would be dealing with millions of others but it would be good if there was better regulation in the industry.
I decided that I would just go and buy another internet service and pay for two until the end of my contract with vodafone as I really needed the Internet at home to study at night. I got the new Optus service, and I couldn't believe it, Optus worked, it didn't cut out, the speed was reasonable and I could have a few pages open at a time.
I was so angry with having been ripped off my vodafone. I went into the Vodafone store and asked to payout the rest of the my contract and they didn't want me to do it in the store. I had to raise my voice and complain loudly in front of the other customers to get it done. The guy calculated the amount and I paid out the rest of the contract.
A month or two later I got a letter from Vodafone telling me that I owed them $33 dollars, I didn't pay because I was so angry that I had done all the right things and then I got a letter from their debt collectors. Ha ha, what a joke, they were chasing me up for $33 and as far as I am concerned they owed me at least $700 for the time that the Internet didn't work (and that is being generous.
I paid it to get them out of my life. I will never have a contract with that company again. I may use prepaid vouchers on my phone periodically but definately no internet and no contracts.
I do feel sorry for their staff. It must be horrible working there.

6683 Someone from SA thinks vodafone is Big con at 28 Dec 2010 03:14:02 PM
Got offered to change from 3 to vodafone wireless broad band and get a free modem and 1st month free. I live 3 mins away from the CBD and got only 1 bar reception from vodafone! Virtually useless. Then got a bill before the month ends and was told by the recorded message when I call vodafone that they are charging the next bill in advance. They didn't tell me that when I switched!! They actually said if I decide to discontinue before the month ends, I will be charged nothing. They have recorded the conversation, I wish I had..... Now I'm paying $30 for a service I couldnt use. Even worse, spent 2 hrs on the phone to wait to speak to someone to cancel my service!

I'm with 3 and they recently merged with vodafone. They used to use the Telstra towers and I never have troubles....since they merged with Vodafone, I've had so many troubles with calls not connecting and messages taking forever to send and the internet has been taking forever to connect. Should I call 3/Vodafone to see if they can do anything or is it a lost cause and i should just give up?
29 Dec 2010 05:43:03 AM: I have had the same problems. I thought it was because I moved to Mawson Lakes where I have been told Telstra has the area sewn up with the Govt/Defence buildings. Was driving through the city yesterday to the airport and my phone dropped out 3 times. Now that you mention it, it has been since 3 merged with vodafone!!
I'm going to lodge a complaint with the Ombidsman
