Dear visitor,

Since its inception Vodafail.com has made a significant contribution towards raising awareness of the problems and issues faced by Vodafone customers.

Vodafone Australia customers have had the opportunity to voice their concerns, their fears and their troubles from every corner of Australia and beyond our borders. You have gathered the courage to stand up for your rights as consumers and to make your voice heard.

Each and every person who shared their story should have a sense of pride in this achievement and the changes that have occurred since the start of Vodafail.com.

More recently, traffic to Vodafail.com has declined significantly. Having achieved the goal of raising awareness and promoting concrete action in early 2011, we have now reached the point of closing Vodafail to new complaints. The site will remain online for as long as possible as a reminder and an example of what is possible when we share our experiences.

It has been a privilege to run this initiative and I'm am forever grateful for the help and support I've received. In particular I would like to thank Melissa, David and Travis for their continued efforts over the past 15 months. I'm also thankful and humbled by the support of ACCAN, Choice magazine and a wide range of media outlets, blogs and websites.

You can still browse existing stories and find out how to file a complaint if you are experiencing problems.

Until next time,

Adam Brimo

i was with the company for over 16 years, but decised to leave them this year after a few years of constant problems with them, from having no service, drops out and ofcourse being overcharged. sometimes i could not contact anyone as towers were down and could not use my damm phone at all. drops out were constant and there customer center is a joke i often waited over an hour to actually speek to a human. not only did i loose contact with the world i lost time energy and of course money with them, i am now with another provider but i would be happy to join the class action to regain some of the money i have lost while being with the lame company, so count me in big time

3472 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is epic fail at 27 Dec 2010 04:14:01 PM
I got a 24 month contract on a phone that didn't work from day one, after taking it to the vodaphone shop many times to get fixed, I was told there was nothing wrong with it. It kept loosing reception, not receiving messages and glitching. After being frustrated for a year I went back another time and asked for an upgrade to add a new phone on my plan. I was told there was no such thing as an upgrade... so I left. Then a few months later I got a new plan with vodaphone (worst mistake) and I was told by the guy that he would never sell this phone to anyone.... funny that because he was the man who sold me the phone.... after a few months of having this new phone I was overcharged on my bill, so I called vodaphone only to speak to a man who asked me if i wanted an upgrade on my phone.... THE UPGRADE THAT DIDN"T EXIST IN THE FIRST PLACE, THE UPGRADE THAT COULD OF SAVED ME A NEW PLAN AND MY MONEY.

3077 Someone from ACT thinks vodafone is Fail Fail Fail! at 27 Dec 2010 03:24:35 PM
not only do my voice messages come all at once 4 days after they've been left by callers, and my calls just drop out mid conversation... oh and not to mention it taking over 2 minutes for a call to start dialling, but I get overcharged by $107! I'm paying for Vodafones failures - not the service expected.

Failmiliarity becoming a bore!

2995 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Big Fail at 27 Dec 2010 03:13:52 PM
After being with Vodafone for 3 years (and lots of drama) my biggest problem with them aside from overcharged bills and the like, was when the bush fires were on and I had no reception (there were always bad pockets of reception beforehand) This really was the last call literally and I switched over to Virgin!

Out of the two year contract of hell now, thankfully.
Had Vodafone mobile braodband. Hah what a joke.
Whenever it rained - no reception. Whenever the wind was wrong -no reception.
Constant drop outs. Constant restarts.
Totally NO CUSTOMER SERVICE either online, by phone or from the brain dead pre-pubescent staff at Frankston.
Then they had the temerity to try to make me renew.
On top of which the so called plan was always overcharged. A disgrace which the ACCC should investigate.
Keep sponsoring the Aussie Cricket team - they are just as bad! How appropriate!

I have been a Vodafone client for 10yrs and have only experienced real issues with coverage for the last year... It doesn't matter what area I am in, my phone barely has any service! I have also had countless problems with being overcharged on my accounts and appaling customer service. I will see out my contract and then take my business to Optus.

2561 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Awful at 27 Dec 2010 01:33:44 PM
No 3G service on Nth Shore Line of Sydney, Northern Line, or western line.
Have commuted through all three locations in the previous 3 years
Phone calls in Sydney Metro, just "stop"
Billing, audit your bills, I've been overcharged a number of times and spent countless hours on the phone with call centre staff trying to rectify the situation.

2506 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is extremely! at 27 Dec 2010 01:18:22 PM
Ive been with vodafone for years. my last contract i had no problems, seemed like a good carrier etc. so i decided to renew my contract for another 2 years (this is about 5 months ago). Since then i have had nothing but problems!! I don't get txts till 5-6 hours later, sometimes in the middle of the night. People try to ring me and it goes straight to voicemail, thus i miss out on work opportunities, as my work means i must be on-call and reachable at all times. If people do get through to me and i pick up the phone they cannot hear me, and end up having to hang up, ring back and hope that they can actually hear me the next time. My next problem, is i upgraded my plan because i was going over my cap, i was told i have $650 worth of included calls. I continually checked my usage online only to find out they started charging me after about $580, rang up to complain about being overcharged etc. only to find out that the 650 worth of included calls is after GST, but the amount they show u on their website when u login is BEFORE GST. I think this is total BULLS*&@*#&$@*T!!! Totally deceiving, and i believe intentional as a way of cheating people out of trying to stay within their cap. Overall, i am really angry at Vodafone and cannot wait to get off this joke of a company.

Have both a Vodafone mobile phone contract and a mobile broadband plan. The broadband is terrible, very slow and sometimes won't connect at all. I have been overcharged on my usage as well. Have rung the technical support and they are pretty useless and also hard to understand due to accents. Recently I was unable to make or receive calls from my mobile phone for over 1 week. Very frustrating as I do not have a landline at home and would have been in serious trouble if any emergency arose. Nothing was mentioned on the website when I tried to research this problem and upon visiting one Vodafone shop was told that it was my iPhone and it needed a system upgrade. After doing this and accidently wiping photos of my kids there was no improvement. I visited another store and was told that Vodafone were upgrading the towers and my phone should be back in service at 6pm that night. Four days later still unable to make and receive calls. I have been with Vodafone for approx 8 years and am regretting signing another contract.
28 Dec 2010 03:43:15 PM: dont dis the call centre. It is NOT their fault. VHA obviously moved call centres offshore due to cost cutting, and have not spent ANY $ on training, one of the most frustrating things is peeps dissing the call centre. VODA 3G towers are shite, not ready for 3 customers.

1651 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Pathetic plan usage update at 27 Dec 2010 08:02:42 AM
Hi
I have been a vodafone customer for 5-6 weeks now.
I have been overcharged right at the second bill.
Simply because I was led to believe there is still a $100 credit remaining on my plan and I went ahead and used it but in reality, there was no credit left,Vodafone does not update your 'spend and entitlements' on its myvodafone.com.au website nor does its sms/vodafone a/c balance service give you any real time updates on what $ amount is left of your monthly allowed credit.
If you billing period ends on ,say the 25th of a month, from the 22nd itself, there seems to be no update on the balance amount.
Agreed, that every provider takes 24/48 hrs to update this amount on their balance check services ,but I was led to believe for 3-4 days that I still have $100 credit remaining and went ahead and used it.
Such a rip off and extremely frustrating.
Be careful when you are checking your a/c balance because it's never the right amount in reality.
Plus ,insurance amount was included by default in the first bill (2 months) without even asking me.
The complaints don't end....

1241 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Incredibly crap at 20 Dec 2010 04:49:18 PM
It all started in January when I had to suspend my brothers contract for three months as he was going overseas. They failed to do so and continued to charge him for the months it was supossed to be suspended. $50 credit given for each month. Next, I set up my direct debit to pay my bills one I had paid that day. I asked the operator when the next debit would come out, she said the next month. 2 days later, I was debited money from my account which they were not supposed to do and waited 2 hours on the phone with them to fix the problem but only to be told that it would take 21 days for the money to be put back into my account. Credit given $100. But not given because they did not apply it to my bill and then overcharged me?? WTF?? Get it together.. Next, my brother, whose contract was under my name decides to go onto his own contract as he is old enough to changes it over at the vodafone store BUT it is not done correctly and then has to spend 5 hours total on the phone and at another vodafone store the next day to fix the issue. THEN! they fail on the next month to change his contarct into his name $50 credit given to both him and myself. The next months bill comes in... HIS CONTRACT IS STILL UNDER MY NAME!!! It takes them 4 months to change it correctly. With 2 months free service added to my pile of credits given. As well as two really shitty Blackberry Storms (which they knew were terrible phones but failed to tell their customers about even though I complained numerous times with no compensation of a new one), crappy service probably about a day of phone calls to India and drop outs, Vodafone have really pissed me off this year... and to top it off! they want to offer me another 24 months of crap! hmmmm... get it together vodafone.

1035 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Appalling at 19 Dec 2010 05:18:31 PM
I am on the Central Coast of NSW. Over half the time I call out I do not get a connection, just a soft, sad 'beep', and the green call icon turns red, with the message 'call failed'. This despite a 3 bar signal and 3G icon showing. Calls to support, via the totally disfunctional Lara abortion, if they are ever answered, get you a Mumbai caricature Indian reading lies from a script, with no ability to look at your computer record, your account, or anything. We got a data transfer charge of $157 against my wife's account on a day when she was helping her aunt move house, and her phone told her 'no signal' for 23 hours. (This is, by the way, less than 500 metres from the biggest shopping mall on the Central Coast). It took me over six hours of waiting, and inane non-conversations with the useless Mumbai contingent, before I was put on to an actual Australia based person, who was, surprise, surprise, was actually rational and able to think, who reversed the charged, and did a re-calc of our account, from Day 1, whereupon he found we had been overcharged well over $300 in three months.
I am convinced that Vodafone Australia has been deliberately set up to fraudulently rip money out of people in the full knowledge that they can't actually provide an acceptable level of service, and in the expectation that the total opacity, and plain incompetence of their so-called support will deter people sufficiently that they give up complaining.

Poor reception 2k from Sydney CBD, overcharged in my bill 2 months running, the promised credit to my account to correct this isn't showing - apparently there's known problems with myVodafone, repeated calls to the helpline about all these issues result in waiting times that are never less than half an hour - and then sometimes the call drops out...I could carry on! I have been with Vodafone for 6 years and never had a problem, but in the last few months it's all just completely fallen apart, I've never been angrier with any company in all my life.

Overcharged, sick of calling the Helldesk and Lara putting me through to someone in the Phillipines who doesn't have a clue and then getting disconnected due to coverage issues and network dropouts and having to start all over again. I have several screenshots of full signal to NO SERVICE within the same minute. I live in an inner suburb and cannot sustain a conversation for more than 20 secs without having losses or full dropouts. As soon as I can I will leave and never return - VHA you are a MEGA-FAIL!!
