Dear visitor,

Since its inception Vodafail.com has made a significant contribution towards raising awareness of the problems and issues faced by Vodafone customers.

Vodafone Australia customers have had the opportunity to voice their concerns, their fears and their troubles from every corner of Australia and beyond our borders. You have gathered the courage to stand up for your rights as consumers and to make your voice heard.

Each and every person who shared their story should have a sense of pride in this achievement and the changes that have occurred since the start of Vodafail.com.

More recently, traffic to Vodafail.com has declined significantly. Having achieved the goal of raising awareness and promoting concrete action in early 2011, we have now reached the point of closing Vodafail to new complaints. The site will remain online for as long as possible as a reminder and an example of what is possible when we share our experiences.

It has been a privilege to run this initiative and I'm am forever grateful for the help and support I've received. In particular I would like to thank Melissa, David and Travis for their continued efforts over the past 15 months. I'm also thankful and humbled by the support of ACCAN, Choice magazine and a wide range of media outlets, blogs and websites.

You can still browse existing stories and find out how to file a complaint if you are experiencing problems.

Until next time,

Adam Brimo

7482 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Network constantly drops out and no coverage in capital cities like MEL and PER at 28 Dec 2010 06:39:03 PM
I am a 3 customer which I believe is now owned or in business with Vodafone. I live in Clayfield and when I drive into my garage or even move around in my unit talking on my phone It drops out. 3's answer is it's the IPhone that is causing the problem. They tell me to turn off my phone andthat should fix it. It is also extremely frustrating not being able to speak to someone in Australia. The call centre is in India, they all say the same thing when u call and it's not getting any better. While typing this the network dropped out. Grrrrrrrrr.

I have a tower across the road, Full bars most of the time, random hours with full reception, I can't call out, people can't call me, CONNECTION ERROR, BUT MIRACULOUSLY, I can call 1555 wait on hold for 2 hours and have some lady ask me how the weather is in Australia, then tell me there is no problem with the network it must be a problem with my phone and my other phone and my wifes phone and my sisters phone and my cousins phone and my mates phone, maybe we should all try turning our phones off and cleaning the sim card and turning the phones back on.

7478 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is complete rubbish at 28 Dec 2010 06:38:28 PM
I send text messages and people get a blank text, and i still get charged. Vodafone on the several times I rang them told me they had never heard of this before, funny I have heard it is a common problem from other vodafone users. Regularly drops out, when I tell vodafone they tell me that cannot be true, where you live has coverage !. So fed up with Vodafone, the agent who sold me the phone said they have have no ability to cancel my contract. Have wasted hours and hours trying to sort this, going to the store, on the phone to India.........

7477 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Couldn't return Modem at 28 Dec 2010 06:38:09 PM
I had zero Broadband coverage in a 'full service' and attempted to return the modem the following day after 2 hours talking to India. 3 trips to the local dealer and 4 hours on the phone being shunted around and I was finally sent a return envelope which went the day it arrived. Bills kept coming ...more trips and phone calls. I was then accused of NOT sending it back. I had to prove with a receipt the package had been sent. Vodafone finally cancelled my account but we still get statements saying they owe us money. They lost me and everyone I know very quickly.

7466 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Worst at 28 Dec 2010 06:36:30 PM
Being on call 24/7 with a Marine Rescue Unit and living just 8.5kms from Brisbane City, on the South side, you would think you would have more than 2 bars at any given time around the house. It's easier for my crew to drive 5 minutes to knock on my door, than it is to try and contact me by vodacrap. If someone leaves a message, it can take anywhere from 10 minutes to 11 hours for me to receive the message, if you can understand was is texted through to me from vodacrap. After speaking to the person who left the message with vodacrap, it appears vodacrap should enter "chinese whisper" competions.
The boss at work made the mistake of giving a vodacrap computer stick for work related use. The joke being, it very rarely works at home, and after being charged 3 times on my credit card, within a five day period for internet connection, i made the mistake of trying to contact the infamous costumer service department on the mobile. After 6 phone calls, and five dropouts on the mobile, then spending 53 minutes on hold to India, explaining 4 times the problem and being passed to 3 departments, they have assured me a refund within 10 working days. Thank god i had extra funds available in the account.
7 years of vodacrap in 2 different cities and Brisbane is actually worst for reception than Darwin. Have an appointment Telstra on Thursday afternoon. Fingers crossed their any better

i live in cairns, and my partner and i dont have a mobile phone with them, instead we have wireless internet. when we signed up for it over 2 years ago, we were assured that within 3 months of signing our contract, that the upload and download speed would increase to that of broadband offered by optus and telstra. well here we are nearly 2 and a half years later and it is almost the same speed as dial up, that is if the thing can find a signal, or if it doesnt forget that it is plugged in, or the best one is when u have a signal, it recognises the reciever, but u cant do anything cause there is no uploads or downloads. at the best of times we have poor to no reception and if the sky is even over cast, then kiss ur internet goodbye. the best bit about this whole story however has to be our contract. our contract was up at the end of august last year, so we contacted them and told them we were not renewing it, instead we were going with telstra, after having a conection with telstra for approx 4 months, we realised that vodafone were still taking money via direct debit, and that the service was still connected. so we contacted them again, this time we went into the acctual store where we signed the original contract, thinking they could fix it up. after standing around for nearly 30 mins waiting for the guy sitting at the desk to actually see us and ask if we needed any assistance, he preceeds to tell us, that there is over 20 ppl in cairns with wireless internet with my partners name and that he cannot just find him and fix the problem. in the end we had to cancell the contract with telstra cause we couldnt stop the payments on vodafone and we couldnt afford too, and there doesnt seem to be and end date to when they will stop charging us

7459 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Mind blowing fail at 28 Dec 2010 06:35:51 PM
I signed up with them then when about to travel overseas, wanting international roaming turned on, thats all i was after.
while sitting at the airport waiting for my plane, I called the "customer service" line after 50 mins on hold my plane was boarding and had to hangup, going overseas without phone coverage.

Then, 3 months later when moving overseas i tried again, firstly going to a vodafone store, they told me they call the same number I do and may have to wait several hours.
So I though id just try again when at the airport. after over 1 hour on hold in the first attempt, then another 40 mins on hold an hour later ( had to hangup cause we moved areas and lost signal)

So now that I moved to newzealand, I emailed them (finally hunted down an address from their mess of a website.)
I told them i want to cancel my contract because of the horrid service.
They email me back stating they will send my final bill, they did, i got it in newzealand, but thought it's paid via direct debit.

Now the fun part.

8months later i move back to Australia, after no further contact from vodafone, not via the email address or actual post( I know they've got my address, i got the one letter)

I am greeted with a debt collection notice for $130 that when I call vodaphone they put me straight to the debt collectors office as soon as I give my details, not even telling me I'm bring transferred to a different company.

So i pay the bill, but afterward find out that I now have a flag on my name and nearly missed out on getting a home for my family because of a $130 debit.

No one at vodafone ever got back to me to clear my info or to let me ask why i was not contacted further regarding this outstanding amount.

I'll never go back to vodafone, not for ANY reason.
30 Dec 2010 06:03:25 PM: That sounds like a big load of shit. "Oh I am going overseas; might just leave it until I am about to board the plane to put international roaming on." Think about shit before you type it, internet warrior.
7 Jan 2011 09:11:26 AM: You are correct, a Telco default for even $130 can cost you a LOT more than the initial amount disputed in money, lifestyle and lost opportunity which you will never be compensated for. Telco defaults on people's CRAA's are one of the most common form of listings, damaging, and amongst the most expensive to remove, though the success rate is around 80%. Let me know if you want some assistance to try and remove it. PH

I signed up for a plug in modem while living in Perth nearly 2 years ago. Because of family commitments, I relocated back to Bundaberg Queensland two weeks after signing up for the modem, and for nearly the last 2 years have been paying $39.95 every month for a usless piece of software that has absolutely NO coverage or internet reception. Vodaphone's response was basically TOO bad SOO sad, the only alternative offered to me was to cancel the contract after the 2 years, even though I have only been able too use there service for ONE WEEK. 100% COVERAGE TOTAL CRAP!!!

Last week especially heaps of calls failed and it came up "connection error" even though amazingly I had reception. Most of the time however I have to walk around the house for ages trying to get reception but usually give up and use my land line. Hours later I will get a text saying I have a voicemail, but never a missed call. I cant wait until my 2 year contract is up with them. There is very few places in this town that I ever get reception.

Since Xmas Day, My phone drops out every 6 mins 40seconds for every call I make or when someone calls me. I have spent 2 days on the phone trying to sort this with vodafone after many many calls, then I also went where I bought the phone.. I still have a contract where I had to buy another phone outright after 14 months. Then got told my phone needs a update of soft wear which was wrong as I found out later by the update website...They wouldn't help me a few months back when I needed them but now they keep calling trying to get me into another one with all promises,, I've told them No thank you, not happy jan. AS they wouldn't help me when needed. Also recently they said I had paid my bill twice and had no bill one month then the next they hit me with a massive bill.. When I rang to find out the Go I had an indian speaking guy yelling at me telling me It was all my fault for not checking all my statements and ringing them saying I think I owe money... but I can sit back and take it then when I had to pay I scream blue murder....
28 Dec 2010 06:48:42 PM: I was just telling my partner that my phone drops out at exactly 6 minutes 40 seconds and saw your comments. I can relate to what your experiencing, it's not your phone thats the problem!!

7450 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Very Uncaring!!! at 28 Dec 2010 06:33:58 PM
Mine happened in 2008 and I've been with Telstra ever since. I had just signed a 2 year contract with a wonderful slide up phone. I was very excited. 2 weeks later I found out that had a job in a place called Doomadgee (Northwest Qld in the Gulf of Carpentaria). Vodaphone had absolutely no coverage here. I asked them what I could do (I had been with Vodaphone for 9 years - a very loyal and productive customer...)and I wanted to come back to my old number after my country service stint was up. I really didn't want to lose my number or the phone. They didn't care and I had to pay an $800 fee and keep paying the contract out for 2 years on the lowest possible plan. Of course, I will never go back and I have got used to my new number!!!!! Just get the hell out as cheaply as possible...they don't care.

I was told the service in our area was good and had nothing but problems with the phone and the service. Constantly out of reception and dropping out while on calls. Vodafone wouldn't break the contract but persisted in trying to sell me another phone on top of the contract i already have. Why would i want 2 phones with no reception?? I have tried to call through numerous times and as I only had my vodafone mobile for a while, everytime I would try to call the customer service my phone would cut out whilst on hold. Sometimes I would be on hold for a period of 2 minutes and my phone would cut out. Anyhow one day I finally got through, it only took 4hrs!!!! ON HOLD FOR 4 HRS!!!!! They told me they would call back, which they did on my mobile that I was calling about ( It has NO reception I told them) so needless to say I didn't get the message until days later when I was in town and my reception decided to work! I could go on and on, I am still in the process of fighting this with them, but they have admited to me that they have found that I do indeed NOT have any reception and left my hubby with a reference number for me to follow up. The thing is It is so stressful having to explain myself everytime and being put on hold for hours each time, who has the time for this.

People are always telling me that my phone is disconnected or switched off or I am simply not answering their phone calls. My phone number is the main number for our groups wildlife rescue and I offer 24 hour service to rescue all animals. All I seem to be getting is people abusing me when they finally track down my address to deliver the injured animals to tell me my phone is disconnected or I didn't answer their messages. WHAT! I have my phone beside me at all times all hours of the day and I ask what the bloody hell is going with going with this service provider. One day it works next it doesn't. This is not a joke Vodaphone maybe you should take some of the abuse I cop for your so called service that is not up to scratch. Fix it now and stop ripping people off for a service you cannot provide! If you do not fix my problem within the fortnight I will be forced to change to a new provider like optus maybe

7444 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Constantly appalling at 28 Dec 2010 06:32:41 PM
I chose to use pay as you go Vodafone after returning from the UK where the coverage was great. Since returning to Australia and trying to use the service on the Sunshine Coast in QLD I rarely have any cover at home unless I walk outside, shut down my phone and turn it on again and I often only reveive text messages days after they have been sent to me. I wouldn't mind so much if I never got service as I would understand that I was in an area where reception was not available, but at times I do get messages and calls comming though (when the weather is ok and the wind is blowing in the right direction) so it makes little sense. I resent paying fees to re-charge as I rarely have the opportunity to use the total amount paid before the time period expires before I'm due to top up again.

Goood luck with your class action.

Moved from Sydney to Mackay QLD with 13 months left on a mobile contract, when i arived in Mackay i found that at best vodafone has around 40% coverage in town and 0% anywhere out of town . Cant belive they have vodafone stores selling contracts in a town with little to no service. Even after talking to vodafone calmly about mabye waiving the fee to unlock the phone so i could use another provider , i had to call back about 7 times each time having to hold for hours to just solve the new problem of unlocking the handset. Finaly hours of my time and having to talk to superviser after superviser after superviser who each new nothing about my problem later and having to explain the whole mess from the begining each time the issue was resolved. Now just to pay another 11 months of a contract i cant even use and ill be free from vodafone forever.

I first tried to upgrade the plan I use for work to get a new phone towards the end of August. "Yep sweet 4 week wait for phone to arrive" they say. 4 weeks LATER 1 HOUR ON HOLD. "Where is my phone?" I ask. " UH THERE IS A PROBLEM UPGRADING YOUR ACCOUNT SHOULD BE SORTED IN A COUPLE OF DAYS" they say.
1 week later another HOUR ON HOLD. " THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN SENT TO TECH SUPPORT DEPARTMENT, YOU HAVE BEEN UPGRADED TO HIGH PRIORITY, WE WILL CALL YOU.
1 week later another HOUR ON HOLD. not resolved.
I wait 2 weeks, call, 45 mins on hold " I ASSURE YOU WE ARE WORKING ON IT YOU ARE ON HIGH PRIORITY."
1 more week, 1.5 hours on hold, " there is no problem you can upgrade now phone will be there within 4 weeks"
Beginning of DECEMBER... "WHERE IS MY PHONE? I AM GOING TO GO TO THE OMBUDSMAN."

They decide that while they are trying to resolve the problem they will put my NO PLANS on to a new contract and swap the terms across to my work # when it is resolved, then reinstate my NO PLANS (no plans doesn't exist any more)

YEAH LIKE THATS GOING TO HAPPEN. FIX MY NUMBER VODAFONE.......

you are a mess whoever created this site (vodafail.com) i am surrounded by mountains and optus gets no coverage telstra (next g) gets 1 bar out of 5 and vodafone gets 5 out of 5 on a iphone 4 (as you know has many receiver issues but it still gets full!! get this crap off the net
28 Dec 2010 06:34:06 PM: Honestly, unless you are short of a quid you can see what the website is called. If you are one of the lucky ones and aren't having any problems then dont bother logging in, simple. It appears that there are a lot more frustated people then not with vodafone. I am happy for you with your phone though.
28 Dec 2010 06:38:19 PM: You are an idiot
28 Dec 2010 06:41:23 PM: You are the one that is on a site for vodafail when your phone works.
Who is the idiot???????
I feel sorry for you, you have to release your frustration on a site that doesn't involve your problems. So sad!!!
28 Dec 2010 06:49:37 PM: This poster is one of those IPHONE IPHONE IPHONE junkies who has to state they are good when they aren't because they have an IPHONE. My friend has an IPHONE and has the same issue as all us other dissatisfied Vodafone users. Oh and she sits on her IPHONE and farts cause the phones so crap... Did i hurt your feelings?
2 Jan 2011 02:43:06 PM: What another satisfied customer?
3 Jan 2011 09:46:19 AM: Hey buddy I live surrounded by mountains, 20 mins from the Sunshine Coast. Optus WORKS, Telstra WORKS, Vodashit DOES NOT WORK. One bar of GPRS, if you are lucky. NOT FUCKIN GOOD ENOUGH!!!!
5 Jan 2011 11:57:25 PM: I've sat next to my wife (Optus) and a good mate of mine (Telstra). They both get reception and I dont. I sometimes have 3 bars but cannot make calls ...

This is my reality of using VF, bugger off.
6 Jan 2011 01:17:40 AM: i work for vodafone and also use their lines and yes, for some people coverage sucks ass (i feel ur frustration)but we get the same complaints about other networks aswell and say only voda will work where they are. i get fine coverage myslef. So dont think its just voda thats shit house, every network has similar issues (see an example- http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/1596511). and for those who go on optus is much better coverage and internet etc etc...newsflash- voda and optus share the same 3G towers in a majority of locations.

However, please, if u are heading to a store to rip into a sales rep about ur crappy coverage, please atleast do it in a nice way. we are much more willing to help out then whereas you start swearing and yelling instore etc...u will be put straight onto cust care and u can deal with an indian instead :)
8 Jan 2011 02:46:44 PM: WOOPTY DOO! Some fool reckons hes surrounded by mountains an his fone works. Good on ya pea brain, thousands of us are having a lot of problems with vodafail, and thanx to this web site , those problems are more likely to be dealt witt.
9 Jan 2011 02:38:12 PM: All the people unable to make emergency calls are really glad for you.

Late in receiving texts messages (sometimes months later) Having the same texts sent 4 or 5 times. a lack of reception in even the most built up/suburban areas. I've been a telstra customer for over 2 years and had nothing but bad issues to do with coverage, why is no one making a website and complaing about other networks within Australia. I trully do not understand this. PLease correct your blog, I find it also ridiculous and misleading that poeple can blog as many times as they want. Isn't that misleading information, because one person can create false alias and information.
28 Dec 2010 06:34:05 PM: Coverage issues are an ongoing mobile phone industry problem, across the world, I can bet you a million dollars at any given time on any network in the world people are having coverage problems!
28 Dec 2010 06:42:23 PM: Dear 7406 I dare you to switch to Voda!!!! Then you'll know why people here are furious!!!!!

I've tried all three carriers. I lasted 6 hours with Voda. Terrible reception blackspots in Melbourne CBD. Then I moved to Optus was happy with them until about two years ago when I got massive calls drop outs, slow downloads and really bad service. Switched over to the big blue monster two years ago and been surprisingly happy.

7376 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Very poor internet connection at 28 Dec 2010 06:21:43 PM
I have been a customer of Vodafone Prepaid Mobile Broadband for more than a year now. I thought there was a problem with our rental unit that's why my internet connection always dropping out till I tried the Telstra service last week and I watched the news yesterday about Vodafone poor service. I really thought that the problem was our apartment we are living in and we will still experience the same problem whatever broadband network we use.

I bought the vodafone mobile broadband for my wife's use in her studies and to get in touch with our families abroad. The Vodafone store staff in Sunnybank where I bought it said that they have good broadband reception in Algester area where we live so there's no problem using their service. On the first month, their service was not that poor but as the days went by, it became poorer and poorer which made me think that I had problem with the rental apartment unit we are living in. Everytime my wife has uni assignment, we just go out and drive to her sister's place which is 5 minutes away from our place to use their Bigpond broadband service because we cannot rely on our Vodafone service which keeps on dropping off. Till one of my friend dropped by last week bringing with him a Telstra prepaid broadband which I tried and worked well. So I immediately bought the following day a Telstra prepaid broadband which we are now using. The pain and shame of driving to my sister-in-law's place to use their broadband and staying their till midnight or later just to finish my wife's assignment is now over. From now on, we will never use Vodafone services anymore... JB

Husband and i have been a reliable customers of Vodafone for over 10 years, On 4th Dec, We decided to upgrade our phones, went to the Vodafone store and signed up on another 2year contract, since that day i have had 3 replacements of the same phone and my husband has had 2. We had enough, After being on hold for 40+ minutes many many times, (one time over 2 hours) told customer services that we want to change handsets completely they said go back to the store, and when i get to the store they say they cant authorise that and we have to take the phones home and get the customer service centre to send out new (different) handsets, customer services said because we got them in the store we have to get them to change the handsets , am getting the major run around,... have 2 phones and cant use them, but are still getting charged for contract, said cancel the contract, keep the phones and was told i would have to pay out the contract.
The customer service centres and the stores are pathetic... left hand has no idea what right hand is doing, VERY VERY POOR FOR INTERNATIONAL COMPANY...

Difficult to even get coverage, then there are drop outs mid conversation. When I text to ask for an account balance I get no reply, uncanny because I am constantly getting "check service" appearing on my phone. 7350 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Absolutely at 28 Dec 2010 06:15:12 PM
After switching to Vodafone in August and within 4 weeks of using their network I knew I was in trouble. I have tried to call Vodafone since end of September 2010 and have had absolutely no success. The 1555 number is Moombai and they have absolutely no idea of how to fix the problem. When I try to explain that I have no service on my phone in MANY areas of the Gold Coast they cannot relate because they don't know the areas I am trying to explain.

I have been on the phone 5 times for over one hour each and with a promise of them "escalating" my situation and a call back within 5 days. Surprise, surprise never have I received a call back. Their solution was to manually search for a network each time!!!! Another solution pull my phone apart put it back together and turn it on - "What happens?" - NOTHING!!! Use my sons phone and maybe mine will come back on in a couple of days - uuum he is with Vodafone too.

I called the Australian line of 13588 (by accident) - and they too promised to escalate my problem and a call back within 5 days. The latest "5 day turn around call" expired on Thursday 23.12.10. Absolutely, positively get back to you - GUARANTEED! Yeah right!

1555 do not call you back and they keep you on hold for a minimum of 1 hour.

I know I have lost business due to the lack of service. I am on a 2 year $99 per month plan and am only 4 months into the plan. I can't use the "unlimited" access to the internet because there is no service. I don't have enough "bars" to make a call and can only text or email.

I reported my issue with TIO last Monday 20.12.10. I also lodged a compliant through Vodafone website on Monday with the promise of a response within 5 days which expired on Friday 24.12.10

I want OUT! And I want compensation for port out charges they were supposed to cover from the previous network of $1,500 - we have 9 mobiles between my husband and my business.

on top of the phone drop outs and lack of reception, we have also been receiving sporadic phone bills - yes they arrive when they are due (of course, when they want money they do everything), but the amounts are varied considerably. Hubby and I are both on a $49 cap, which i think gives us around $310 worth to play around with, which none of us even come close to reaching and now we are getting bills that are $0 amounts, then you get a double bill and now a $500 odd bill!! What the???? Yet when you call someone, they just bum steer you onto some one else. I dont have that sort of money - i have just had twins and am not at work currently. Definately wont be going through vodafail again.

I work as a Traffic Controller and thus i recieve my jobs on a daily basis and thanks to Vodafone i sometimes miss vital calls which means no work etc. The latest thing to happen to me really got me mad thanks to Vodafone Customer Service, I was travelling home late one night on the m1 on queenslands roads when my car broke down and miles from a service station so i called Vodafail Customer Service for a number of a 24 hour towing service so i could get the car home when the smart ass lady on the phone told me to look in the yellow pages and then hung up on me ( I'm stranded on the highway, this is why i called). This lady did not care about me which is why i hope she ends up stranded on the highway, hopefully near belangalo state forest and why i will be changing telco service providers.

I couldnt even get reception to ring vodafone and tell them what a bunch of useless pricks they are. As soon as my contract runs out they have lost me.
28 Dec 2010 06:16:07 PM: Pacific Pines is the Black Hole alright! No vodafone reception at all there.
31 Dec 2010 12:49:06 AM: U dont get hardly any reception from any network provider, apart from Telstra in Pacific Pines.

I can not get any coverage inside my house and when outside if I move around, it drops out. To connect to the internet is a hopeless exercise and my lilit will never be used. SMS and voicemail messages can take 2 to 3 days to come through.

7338 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is badly at 28 Dec 2010 06:12:33 PM
I had a contract with VF but I cancelled my contract and have a bill to pay out. Every month I would have large bills, and then have to spend hours on the helpline to correct them- and then pay for the helpline call. ( a few times it wasnt 1555) When i asked to cancell my contract they took it as cancell my number too, so that took a week of endles waiting to clear up. Then to exit my contract there was a $950 bill to pay - which was corrected by the ombudsmen.... but my point is that I shouldnt have to pay it out because they didnt deliver on the contract.

7337 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Vodaphone & 3 at 28 Dec 2010 06:12:21 PM
I believe vodahone and three are one in the same. I singed up with 3 to get a 18cent per minute no flag call service. I was also told that 3 could access the the 3G telstra network if their tower could not deliver the reception. This was a lie. I also have a telstra 3G phone that I operate as well. The service difference is chalk and cheese. I have to divert my 3 phone to the telsta mobile to get incoming coverage. I try using the 3 network for outgoing calls ususlly ending up in disgusting failure. I was in storms 2 weeks ago in Jimboomba and I was trying to ring my wife as I entered the property describing the damage My telstra phone had run out of power. I could not communicate with my wife and vowed th get even with 3 for the lies. I have a Nokia N97 with 3 and a old Nokia 9300 with telstra. The service 3 has offered is that of the dark ages. It has cost my business over 10k in sales in the last two years

I recently went to Fiji for 5 days, before leaving I checked my rates on roaming, reset my counter so I knew how long I was talking for and switched off data roaming as advised on the vodafone website and told by staff. I received a text once I landed which said to receive a call would cost $1 per minute yet advice I had was I would only be charged standard call rates, hence I elected to phone back to Australia as it would be cheaper than to receive a call. On the final day my phone had been suspended hopefully they thought it was a security breach yet the numbers they sent me in a text to fix the problem, advise them I had the phone were not working numbers. When I landed back in Brisbane I went to the Vodafone booth at the airport and he had to give me a new sim card but could not activate my phone for outgoing calls or texts. I called the following day and it was re activated but I have a bill for over $2000. $1100 in calls and the remainder in data. I have mananged to get a credit for $866.87 for some of the data roaming but they have not credited me anything back on the calls. My calculations I was on the phone for 4 hours and 30 odd mins and even being generous my calls should not of been over $500.
As for MMS, forget it my son sent some on Christmas day and I received the last one (I think) at 5.23 am this morning. This is a common problem, as is not being able to use the internet e.g. facebook and twitter are the worst on a regular basis. I talk to another Vodafone customer frequently and when he is on the M5 in Sydney and I am on the Gold Coast his phone cuts out on a major motorway.
The new wireless that is just a joke, I had it work maybe couple days on and off and now am using the old toggle again with no wireless to hook up the other computers in the house.
I have been a Vodafone customer for approx 12 years.

30 Dec 2010 06:53:36 AM: You seriously need to go back into Grade 4 and learn how to spell. "Suck dick"... if that isn't an indicator into how immature and pathetic you truly are I don't know what is.

Secondly, how humiliating is it that you resort to racist slander to make yourself feel superior.

Grow up and get out of your ghetto. As long as you continue to write incoherantly your voice will never be seriously acknowleged and supported.

7326 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is big big fail at 28 Dec 2010 06:09:58 PM
i am recently new customer to vodafone as i moved from optus to vodafone because vodafone ensured me i had coverage at my home and in my area. i have no reception inside or outside my home, text and mms do not go through at all sometimes hours and hours later some phone calls do not even come through. i sat on the phone on hold to vodafone for 2hrs from person to person and then even more stupidly i was getting passed from department to department and to tech support i am tired of speaking to tech support. after winging at them for two days in a row i got told they would give me three months free minimum mobile service and if at the end of the 3mths if i was not happy still they woulde let me out of my contract. yet i have to put up with this for three months till someoen works out how to fix this. NOT IMPRESSED VODAFONE WASTE OF TIME I SHOULD OF STAYED WITH OPTUS.

7320 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Calls drop out, No Service at 28 Dec 2010 06:09:07 PM
I recently purchased the iPhone 4 on a plan with Vodafone. I was told that I would get service in my area that I was in, in fact assured I would. Yet when I returned to Talbot Vic I had no service. This annoyed me to no end & I was extremely upset. I tried contacting them several times from a landline phone yet to no avail was cut off all the time. I want to get out of the plan & return to Telstra as I really had no problems with them in the past, just that Crazy Johns had iPhone 4 in stock & they had a better deal om plans for calls/sms etc. Thinking about it I should have just stayed on Telstra. My calls on Vodafone drop out all the time & I cannot connect to the internet. I was even at Melbourne Airport & still couldnt get 3G service to connect to internet. Why did I change why did I not just stay with Telstra??? Now I am unhappy in a 2 year plan that I would like to cancel. Vanessa QLD
