26 Mar 2012 - Update Highest Rated Pain Stories Highest Rated Gain Stories Vodafail Local Facebook Page
Dear visitor,

Since its inception Vodafail.com has made a significant contribution towards raising awareness of the problems and issues faced by Vodafone customers.

Vodafone Australia customers have had the opportunity to voice their concerns, their fears and their troubles from every corner of Australia and beyond our borders. You have gathered the courage to stand up for your rights as consumers and to make your voice heard.

Each and every person who shared their story should have a sense of pride in this achievement and the changes that have occurred since the start of Vodafail.com.

More recently, traffic to Vodafail.com has declined significantly. Having achieved the goal of raising awareness and promoting concrete action in early 2011, we have now reached the point of closing Vodafail to new complaints. The site will remain online for as long as possible as a reminder and an example of what is possible when we share our experiences.

It has been a privilege to run this initiative and I'm am forever grateful for the help and support I've received. In particular I would like to thank Melissa, David and Travis for their continued efforts over the past 15 months. I'm also thankful and humbled by the support of ACCAN, Choice magazine and a wide range of media outlets, blogs and websites.

You can still browse existing stories and find out how to file a complaint if you are experiencing problems.

Until next time,

Adam Brimo

11517 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is WHERE IS OUR ACCC WATCHDOG at 9 Jan 2011 07:17:55 PM
HAHAHA WHY DOESN"T VODAFONE JUST GIVE UP!!!

AND WAY DOES OUR GOVERNMENT SET UP A WATCHDOG BODY SUCH AS ACCC TO SIT ON THEIR ARSE AND DO NOTHING ABOUT THE 12,000 PEOPLE COMPLAINING ABOUT A TELCO!

FK our Government is SHT. I'm contacting all TV news stations tomorrow to get this story run against Vodafone and Gvt.
9 Jan 2011 07:23:14 PM: Stephen Conroy has already said he is too busy on the internet filter to bother with your trivial problem.

I phoned customer service only to be put on hold for nearly 3 hours ( which i took photography evidence ) I explained this to the spokesperson only to be told " you will get 25 % of your currant bill " I then asked how much is my " new " bill ? Um sir I have taken of $ 15 .00 that's right fifteen dollars !! Now you do the math - a bill of $ 225.00 at 25 % discount does not equate to $ 15.00 off my total bill , I then asked him again ? his reply -please sir can you tell me how much this total would be ? That is nothing to proud of Vodafail.... Ohhh Vodafail you're done it again

11497 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is secure at 9 Jan 2011 06:48:34 PM
In regards to Vodafone's alleged data breach.. DON'T BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOU READ! I've yet to hear of any specific breach but rather for the potential. Vodafone keeps customer info on internal systems that can be accessed via an online web portal called siebel with usernames/passwords that staff are authorised to use, and has done so for many many years. The only way for this to be illegally accessed is for an individual staff member to give out/sell that username/password. The system is secure but is subject to the human element. Vodafone is as secure as Telstra which uses the exact same system and procedure and they have many more customers, or any online system that requires username and password.
9 Jan 2011 07:07:08 PM: Vodafone is not as secure as Telstra the only thing they have in common is Siebel,

1) Tesltra do not allow general passwords/logins to be used
2) Tesltra have VPN's and Smart Cards. Where as any employee that leaks a password for vodafone that can then be used from any Internet connection accessing the webportal.

I received a text with necessary information on Friday. Problem is that the text was sent to me on Tuesday!
Not happy with reception from home. Others in my house on Telstra and they are crystal clear. Contract handset packed up after first year so now using another that I didn't get from Vodafone. Six months left on this contract if I can't get out of it. Never again Vodafone....never again. going to investigate the breach of privacy now. Not good

11467 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is VERY at 9 Jan 2011 04:36:43 PM
My son moved from the gold coast to karratha W.A. in October 2010 with his 3/vodafone phone - he was told he would get reception there. Drop outs were huge and he had no alternative but change to Telsra because he was chasing work and could not be contacted. He was told by 3/vodafone they would only take out his repayments monthly because he was still under contract for the phone and no charges would apply for phone calls. He has just been slugged almost $600 from his bank account which now leaves him with almost nothing. He had no prior warning this would happen and has only worked 3 weeks since 9/10. On contacting vodafone, they were no help. Their website shows you get cover in Karratha but that is untrue. That is the reason he had to change.

11466 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is crippling at 9 Jan 2011 04:36:16 PM
Reading reports online about how Vodaphone has breached its privacy policy with the access of customer personal and financial details outside of authorised personnel. As a Three mobile customer (using Vodafone network) I contacted both Three and Vodafone. Both state that Three accounts and Vodafone accounts are different (although reports on whirlpool suggest it is planned to merge them in future). Does this mean Three mobile customers are unaffected?
9 Jan 2011 06:53:04 PM: yeah this has nothing to do with three customers.
9 Jan 2011 09:30:28 PM: vodafone is using seibel to store customer's details while 3 is using 3 central. VHA is planning to convert all 3 central customers into seibel, so just dont get converted until you have to..or just change to another carrier if your contract is up

11454 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is at 9 Jan 2011 04:18:11 PM
I have been a customer of Vodafone since 1999. For approximately the last two years, the customer service has been appalling. I have one year remaining on my current contract and I am looking to cancel this contract. I travel a lot to see my family in New South Wales. A majority of my trip, I do not have coverage, despite being told by Vodafone for several years that "it will be up and running by....". I had an incident with a snake this week on my return trip home. Had anyone been bitten, one of us would be dead. I spoke with Vodafone about this on Friday and they apologised for the "issues I have in my life". I now have to speak with the "Network Team" for them to confirm that there is no coverage in the area where I travel before I can cancel my contract without incurring any cancellation fee - funny that, considering I can't get through to this Network Team. I have today attempted to send an email but the "email form is currently out of order".

11448 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Reception at 9 Jan 2011 03:59:10 PM
I purchased my new Iphone 4 on a $79.00 plan from Vodafone only after the map showing the coverage area was highlighted blue meaning a standard reception in my local area, but surprise surprise my new iphone 4 may as well be a paper weight as there is little or no coverage in my home and I'm stuck with a 24 month contract which is useless as I need my iphone at home for work and for family medical reasons.
So I think Vodafone should cancel my contract or let another carrier take over my plan so I can use my iphone the way it is supposed to work as I don't think you should be charged for something that doesn't work.
9 Jan 2011 05:36:46 PM: iphone 4 has a reception fault. Why would you buy it?!

11438 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is People do NOT want to talk to a freakin robot at 9 Jan 2011 03:26:27 PM
I'll skip my sad sorry details because it will just be more of the same complaints already experienced by 1000s of unhappy vodafail customers.

This company is too arrogant by far. They are only interested in ripping people off as much as possible without caring for their customers or delivering anything like their advertised services.

To try & fix the complete f------g mess they caused with my wireless internet I went to get help from their stores & was fobbed off totally by 2 of them. Tried various " service" "help" (vodafail's key word for we don't give a shit) numbers & reached India, which was no help just more frustration with an Indian accent, after waiting in queue for hours being bombarded with recorded vodafail lies about their so called services. Called their robot Lara, the most frustrating experience of my life & finally was transferred after 45 minutes to an Aussie accented young man who unfortunately copped my whole torrent of abuse regarding the shit company he worked for. Turns out he had only just joined them & was thinking of quitting. This young guy assured me that he would sort out the mess for me, make sure I wasn't charged (for services not provided) & cancel my account. He ended the conversation by saying that if by chance I did receive a bill (for the non services) I should take it to a vodafail store & they would sort it out for me.

If I have to go back to a store & start my battle with vodafail again I will make sure I'm carrying a baseball bat & if I get the same runaround as I did before I'll use the bat to smash anything with vodafail written on it in sight.

These people must be sent by aliens from outer space to wipe out the human race by getting us so frustrated we will self destruct from the stress.

11436 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is disastrous at 9 Jan 2011 03:24:25 PM
Why did I have to find oyt about the release of personal information from a news site and not them.
The release of this information is a potential financial disaster for customers.
I quickly logged into Vodafone to send an email asking if my information was released and to cancel any authorities.
Their email contact form is temporarily out of order!!!!
What a joke
9 Jan 2011 05:14:13 PM: I too am disgusted at having to hear this from the news - no email from them and nothing on their website. Appalling!
20 Jan 2011 01:29:32 AM: I think the senior execs are at their violin lessons. I think that's what they mean by "fiddling" while the company burns..........

11429 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Hopeless !! at 9 Jan 2011 02:44:58 PM
BE CAREFUL..1512 is not accurate !!! Having been overcharged twice I contacted India and I was told "1512 is only a complimentary service" and meant to be a "guide only" and may be "more than 3 days behind" !!! Same applies for the data usage via the MyVodafone website..I get the feeling that its designed this way so that customers continually go over their caps and get slammed or pushed into higher caps !
14 Jan 2011 07:51:50 AM: I believe you. Whether these anomalies are due to a hacker or Vodafone's incompetence, the responsibility ultimately lies with Vodafone.

On querying my latest account with a Vodafone store person, who did try to help and rang accounts several times as he was cutoff also. In the end they said they would investigate. I got a paper copy of the account as they view it from him.

It clearly shows a large chunk ~$460 [he scratched out the line]being taken out of my usage amount 23 November 2010. So if I managed to check my usage on that day I would have thought I had 2G left. THEN THEY ADDED IT BACK! and I ended up with a charge of excess usage.

When they switched from the paper accounts which clearly showed their stupid accounting system to ebilling, payments I had made for excess usage etc, were not transferred over. Hence they still reckon I owe this. Only the regular monthly payments were credited.
This month I could not even access their web page usage site for TWELVE DAYS!!!

However, they are not alone. When I bought a new phone, and transferred credit to it, Virgin tried to charge me for money owed, when they were PREPAID ACCOUNTS!

FOR GOD'S SAKE I WISH THESE SO CALLED 'ISPS' WOULD HIRE AN ACCOUNTANT TO DESIGN THEIR BILLING SYSTEMS AND USE DOUBLE ENTRY ACCOUNTING!!!

11426 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is pathetic at 9 Jan 2011 02:34:24 PM
Unfortunately both my mobile plan and mobile broadband are with Vodafail. At this stage I'm used to the poor coverage, slow speeds and drop outs. However I've noticed lately that information given by 1512 on credit and data used is not accurate and when the date approaches for the day my credit resets their server always seems to be down or I can't log on to check my usage. This has happened the last 2 months and as a result my usage went over and I was charged and extra $200 for excess use !! When I contacted 1555 they said that 1512 is "complimentary" and only a guide !! If we can't get accurate information on monthly usage how on earth are we expected to follow our usage. It just seems too convenient that this happens every month....has anyone else had a similar experience ?

11421 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is certainly not brilliant! at 9 Jan 2011 02:10:17 PM
I've had my contract in place for 8 months. for 8 months I've had NO internet access through my iphone, unless hooked to my wifi at home, calls that drop out, and when I try and call Vodafone 1555... well lets just say I'm yet to be connected to the service centre.
I'm paying $79 a month for a glorified ipod and I'm not happy.
I've tried emailing them (which now seems to be unavailable!) and have never received a response.

I'm tired of Vodafone. But I can't even get through on 155 to try and get out of my contract.

11417 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Epic at 9 Jan 2011 01:55:32 PM
I ordered a phone from the online store on the 16th NOVEMBER, they said they were in stock and I would receive it in 4 days. I never received the phone. I called Vodafone, waited on hold for an hour, and had a lady tell me "she didn't know, and maybe it will be there on Friday" I called again a week later and was given a consignment number for Australian Air Express, I called them the next day and was told that the phone was marked as "return to sender" on the computer and it never left the airport. I called Vodafone again, to be told that they didn't know why (after trying to prove that I never received the phone, that is), but he promised me it would be in my hands in no more than 5 business days. Those 5 days came and went, I called again, waited on hold again, told my story to 3 people again, and was again "Promised" that he would call me back in 48 hours with an answer as to where my phone had gone. Again, those hours came and went, I called again to be told that I would have to cancel my order and then re-order the phone.
I thought stuff that, I won't do anything....but a week later I got a f&*king bill from them, for $90!...I had opted for a direct debit option as payment! So of course I ring them up and again wait on hold for over 90 minutes, got passed on to 6 different people, and got talked into giving them one more chance, and my phone will come to me in a week, and that he had canceled the bill and direct debit order..... Its now been 2 weeks. My account is due to be debited on the 12th Jan, and I just know it will be.....
I cannot believe how they have f*&ked this up so many times. I find it very hard to keep cool everytime I ring, I know its not their personal fault, but they have no clue as to what you have been through, and to repeat your story to so many people. And them to have something go wrong EVERY time! It is somebodies fault....
I just want my contract terminated. I want to know that money isn't going to be taken out of my account, and I will stick with Optus.
This has been a balls up of epic proportions. I find it hard to figure out how ANYONE manages to get a vodafone phone, when they have screwed me over
about 8 times... F&#k you vodafone!

11412 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Further to my fail at 9 Jan 2011 01:35:22 PM
Further to my post below (11409) the reason why I rang Vodafone customer service in the first place was because I would send a text and the recipient would get about half a dozen duplicates and I would get charged for every single one. I would also get up to 30 'reminder' texts a day to recharge. When I complained about that, the person said that 'it was the system there was nothing they could do.' Jesus Christ, well who designed the system? Robots from another planet?

11409 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Extreme fail at 9 Jan 2011 01:30:32 PM
Hello everyone,
I was a vodafone pre-paid customer for years until about 3 months ago when I switched to Optus. At one point with Vodafone, I spent over three hours a week (at over an hour each) on hold with 'customer service.' In one week, I was booted out of the queue by failed reception three times after being on hold for an hour. After that horror week I said 'F THIS' and switched to Optus. I haven't looked back. When you ring Optus, you actually get a person to talk to and I have never spent more than 2 minutes on hold. They also take the time (even up to 30-45min) to talk you through your issues and ring you back when they say they will. Vodafone is the biggest fail in history and I hope they go bankrupt NOW. God, they fail so hard.
10 Jan 2011 03:59:17 PM: thats because optus has no customers.

11407 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Pathetic at 9 Jan 2011 01:22:39 PM
Just received a call back to my mobile after waiting 1hr for return call. Asked if I was paying for call, YES. Please call my landline, very sorry sir that number is not working, tries again, sorry sir still no dial tone etc. Please call my mobile then. Ring, Vodafone here, what is your concern? No internet coverage, no phone service, calls drop out, security breach?, Sorry sir that is a rumour, okay so can you explain my coverage issues? We need to check the setup of your Apple Iphone, tries landline again and it mysteriously works now :-( I explain that I have to use 2g to get any coverage for phone calls and it still drops out. Cannot connect to the internet, when I do it is that slow that sites/pages drop out. ABSOLUTELY PATHETIC. Well sir all we can do today is escalate this problem to check your area (home), what about where ever else this happens? should I call every time? I dont think so. I ask again re security breach and get transferred to customer care? haha wait time is 40+mins and no option of call back. Service? is ridiculous and after previous issues with Vodafail I should never have signed with them again. There certainly wont be a third time. Tried to send email via Vodafail's website and guess what? sorry to inform you that page is offline. No service, no customer care and no coverage, what the hell do they think we are paying for?

11406 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is useless since Three merged at 9 Jan 2011 01:20:27 PM
Vodafone had been great for me until they merged with Three. I had just left Three, but joined cause I had heard of the great customer service at Vodafone. At the start, even though there were some glitches (ie: Blackberry Storm), I was looked after and had ready access to a customer service rep who could help me.

My contract ends soon and that impression has steadily decreased. I lose reception in town, I leave a city and completely lose coverage, I spent 2 hours on hold recently, only to get transferred again.

I know where I won't be signing up with soon when my plan renews.

the two houses on either side of me an i have barely 1 bar of 2G reception let alone the supposed 3G we are meant to get in the middle of suburbs! 2 mins to the CBD & we get NO RECEPTION. I've been told from vodafone "tough luck you must be in a black spot" & have been told my only option is to buy a repeater station .
Calls repeatedly drop out, no matter wher i am or calls just dont connect.
Repeatedly i'll get disconnected from the network, albeit that im showing full reception & its only if i turn my phone off & on again (once i realise this has happened... several hours later) & then get all my voicemail & sms for the day.
ive been stuck in my contract for nearly two years & have had to put up with this for too long. my contract is up in 2 months & I AM OUTTA HERE!!!

I live in a metro Brisbane suburb, and yet reception sits between 2 bars and zilch while at home(iPhone 3GS). Calls drop out and people on the other end often cant hear me. Texts are frequently undeliverable, MMS's generally turn up weeks late and sometimes not at all. The 3G data rate is atrocious, and I though I'm paying for 1GB of data, I'll often bail to my home wifi because the data is so SLOW. On top of all this, I see Voda's massive privacy fail in the news.

TLDR: NOT happy Jan!

Very upset with Vodafone as i can rarely send messages, picture messages are almost impossible to send, Almost every call of mine drops out which makes it even more frustrating because i got a new iphone 4 and i am getting angry at the horrible service that i cant even enjoy my phone anymore. The internet is extremely slow if i wanna use the internet i have to use a wifi, but in that situation a computer is almost always around so my phone seems to be useless with Vodafone.

11364 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Fails worst than the Australian Cricket Team at 9 Jan 2011 11:04:12 AM
I live in the north brisbane area (less than 5km from the city) and I hardly ever have full 3G service available. The service is never full in my house and most of the time I need to walk outside to have clear coverage on the phone.

When I stay with my g.f who lives 10km from the city it struggles to receive 1 bar of 3G and most of the time will be on 'edge'. How hard is it to received clear coverage? I travel frequently to the Sunshine Coast where I don't even bother going onto the Internet as the service there is extremely poor.

My most recent frustration was standing on a family members back deck in the stafford heights area during a phone interview and my phone dropped out twice, it's a complete joke! Now I read that Vodafone has been hacked and customers personal information is available!! How much longer can this go on for?

I sit here typing my vodafail experiences on telstra wifi as I don't think my Vodafone service will work for me :s

11360 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Hacked. Man in Middle attack. at 9 Jan 2011 10:48:23 AM
Fixed the mess due to a router. Don't have a LAN just a router that will let ONLY my two laptops connect to it, anyone else with a different MAC address is wasting their time. For a Man in the Middle attack to be successful, the ISP has to be conned into believing the hacker is me. I have to be conned into thinking I'm connecting to the ISP when really it is a hacker. Check if this is the case on the dos command prompt line or in a bash shell in linux type arp -a or arp -g. If any computers or IP's are there you don't recognise, you've been hacked.

11358 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Really Fail at 9 Jan 2011 10:45:33 AM
I have a Vodafone contract for 24 months with an Iphone 3GS. I think I only have about 9 months to go on it now. Despite the fact that I get abysmal reception in major shopping centres such as Chermside at times, and cannot get receiption at my parents place in Brighton, because there is no issue with my reception at the place I reside when I signed up (Zillmere), I have no recourse to exit my contract. I tried to look up a web site when on the move yesterday, to no avail. Every time I unlock my phone after going for a drive, I just see "The mobile network is not available"... seriously not good enough guys. I have 1 gig of data a month, and anywhere I try to use it, it is unusable. People use their own wireless network at home, so kinda useless to use it there.

I carry a personal vodafone mobile and an optus work mobile in many areas of North Queensland. The service for both of them is fairly dismal once you leave any major town or city. I think web-sites like this are great to let these companies know that just because we don't chooos to live in a capital city our calls a re less important. The vodafone 'dropping out' issue seems to have improved lately.

I have experienced nothing but unusable slow data on my iphone 4, which is all over south east queensland. I am continually rebooting my phone in the hope it helps but never does. In some locations every attempt to call shows call fail, and has 4/5 bars of service. not good enough

11343 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Disgusted at 9 Jan 2011 09:58:01 AM
Signed up for a 48 month vodafone plan in early december. Received the first bill a day or two later as they discussed with me in store. I had opted for the bills to be emailed. I go to pay the bill using their online billpay option, get all the way to the end of the procedure where i receive a pop up at the top of the page, sorry for the inconvenience but we're unable to process your request at this time and for me to call their 1555 number. So, as I am keen to pay my bill and not incur any late fees I dial this number, to be cut off repeatedly. I have gone through this entire process about 4 times now, and still haven't been able to pay my bill. Received a new one on top of that yesterday. I think I will be paying a store a visit as this is just ridiculous. I work hard for my money and can't afford to have it go towards late fees due to someone elses stuff up. Kristy
9 Jan 2011 10:14:16 AM: I've been printscreening these with the date and time showing on screen and saving to show I was trying to pay. You'd think the f...ing dic....ds would get the process whereby they get their income right! Nope. Shows you what morons they are.
9 Jan 2011 01:06:55 PM: Back again. I remember I fixed this issue by using BPay or Pay anyone in internet banking. This should be safer as using the bank's security setup. Had problems with doing this also, though other payments went through using Googles Chrome browser. I tried VFail payment again using Internet Explorer 8 and it went through.

11308 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Apalling at 9 Jan 2011 08:34:50 AM
I was a loyal Vodafone customer for 14 years, even rung by them on numerous ocassions and told they considered me a 'VIP Customer' (what a joke), when late last year my automatic direct debit payment failed for the first time. I was away on holiday at the time and within 2 days they had completely barred my service. Even their Customer Service admitted I had an excellent payment record. It was the last straw for me and I finally gave up and have since switched carriers.

I also just couldn't stand 'Lara' anymore who could never understand what I wanted. And what security is it when you have to speak out loud all your private security PINs and codes for others around you to hear ? Management decisions by idiots. I won't even start on the endless unproductive calls I had to their Customer Service centre over the years.

Bye bye Vodafone, you deserve all the pain you're getting.
9 Jan 2011 10:17:15 AM: Lucky you for getting out. I'm certain that Lara only understands Hindi.
10 Jan 2011 09:24:07 AM: Be careful, I was chastised by people on this site for making "racist" comments when I mentioned the heavily Indian accented call centre staff. Anyway it's not Hindi Lara understands it's Urdu.

9 Jan 2011 10:19:15 AM: So do a LOT of their customers, and unfortunately you are not top of the queue. I'm certain some of their problems are caused by THEIR programming errors. This might speed up the process as the TIO notices a pattern developing.

11272 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Deceitful and Dishonest at 9 Jan 2011 06:02:49 AM
1. First a positive note. Vodafails primary DNS server listed in many connection software programs HASN'T WORKED FOR MONTHS AND DOESN'T RESPOND TO PINGS. Shows you what a pathetic ISP Vodafone is! Now the better bit. If possible change your DNS servers to another ISP's or OpenDNS. The combination of Google's DNS 8.8.8.8 8.8.4.4 works well with Googles Chrome, probably because they are on the same network [Googles]. But don't everyone do this or the servers could be overloaded leading to similar problems as VFail's. Ping iinet's servers for instance or other ISP's and pick the fastest. Chrome is a leaner faster browser than M$ IE.

Now to the dishonest deceitful part.

Vodafone urged customers to take up online billing a while back and I did. BUT
any payments other than my regular monthly payment were not transferred across.
So payments due to excess usage were not credited. Even when I went into their store at Westfield Carindale (ground floor), the Manager tried to bully me and didn't think there was anything wrong with the fact that ON THEIR SYSTEM one screen showed I owed ~$59 while another showed I owed ZERO, [which was what the situation should be]. Now you can't access your bill history and they are going on the online accounting system, meaning that they will assume I haven't paid when I had. Fortunately I have bank records and printscreens to back up my case.

Geez, even the 'Salami' scammer only took a 1c from everyone's bank account, not $60!!

Any professionals out there I suggest you ask for compensation with the lawyers for the HOURS, DAYS you have spent WASTED ON THIS USELESS ORGANISATION ESPECIALLY THE CE0 AND MARKETING LOT! AT THE HOURLY RATE FOR YOUR PROFESSION.

11260 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is run by liars at 8 Jan 2011 11:48:54 PM
i was a vodafone store manager until the merger with 3 when i was made redundant along with hundreds of other employees. the area surrounding my store had pretty shit coverage however i was constantly told by higher ups that new towers are almost finished in the area and that coverage would improve greatly. so i told this to my staff and customers thinking it was true and we signed up a lot of customers. these towers were never built during the next 2 years before i left and i had a lot of angry customers coming into the store calling me a liar. i felt bad because i screwed a fair few people over and ended up costing them money to cancel their contracts (i did manage to get a few cancelled for no charge thanks to tio lol) anyway the main point i want to get across is that most of the time the store staff are getting told info that is not correct and passing it onto customers thinking they are doing the right thing, so go easy on them its probably not their fault if they b.s you.
9 Jan 2011 10:26:48 AM: I think you are probably right, psychopaths generally treat everyone abusively, and are not honest to some but not to others. VF appears to have quite cynically done this. Abused customers and employees. I was happy with them until the network and accounting errors started.

11245 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Ridiculous at 8 Jan 2011 06:55:02 PM
I had to convert my three pre paid number into a post paid one. I had to call them for 3 times to put this through despite of clearly giving them all the information they need the first time. Mostly for reconfirmation.
Everytime I called the transfer of service department it would take over 30mins to get through firstly.
The final time they told its all gone through now and should take be fine post the midnight.
Today I realised I am not able to make international calls and when I call the post paid number it says "you are a prepaid number, cal them" So I called the TOS dept again to ask them what they had done yesterday.

1. It took me 60mins of HOLD to get someone on the line on a SAT eve. Considering it was weekend had expected it much lesser.
2. After all that wait, The guy was not cordial at all and was wanting to rush through my call and finish it off.
3. Kept on arguing with me that it takes over 24hours to get through the change. I told the application went through on Friday noon and its Sat Evening. After which he clarified that its 24hours from the midnight the change process kicks in. Nobody informed on this originally.
4. Kept on pushing to wait for over another 4 hours and made it look as if I am rushing into this.
5. Didnt ask me if there was anything else. Ended abruptly by saying thanks for calling 3 and dropped off the line.

11231 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is terrible at 8 Jan 2011 03:43:35 PM
This complaint has to do with their customer service. After buying the new Desire HD I wanted to use my old phone number from Optus(L) and the Vodafone employee said no worries. So we went through all the form etc, no worries. I leave the store and after the expected change over time of an hour my new phone still has no reception. To cut a long story short, I have no visited this store 5 times in 4 days and still can't use my phone. Thats ok Vodafone, I didn't want to call my family anyway...
11 Jan 2011 02:34:54 PM: As an employee of VHA i can say that this does happen from time to time, but in most instances it is because either Voda or the other carrier has incorrect details or you provide an incorrect billing account number i.e. it is a human error.

I purchased a mobile broadband plan and modem from Vodafone at the end of Nov 2010. When I got it home, I had internet reception or pages loaded after waiting for 5 minutes. It took me 5 days of continuous calling/getting hung up on/visits to the store of purchase to get a refund and cancellation of my plan. HOWEVER. it didn't stop there as I received a bill for December. Further phone calls and visits to store and I was finally informed that all fees were waived and plan was cancelled. Then today, january 8th, I received ANOTHER bill! I am really starting to think they just enjoy wasting everyone's valuable time.

11192 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is As good as the Cricket team they sponsor... at 8 Jan 2011 09:25:11 AM
I recently moved and could not obtain Vodafone coverage, when I tried to contact them (using a friends phone) about having to change to another provider in order to use my phone, I could not get through, was put on hold, was cut off after being put on hold repeatedly...I wasted hours of my life that I will never get back! I went to a Vodafone office and they also had to call the central line?? Eventually I was told that I had to pay an early termination fee because Vodafone don't provide coverage - I live 30kms from Brisbane, the state's capital city!!!
The Aussie Cricket team are obviously with a bunch of losers...maybe Vodafone should spend their money on their network coverage and operational call centre instead of corporate boxes....

I sit here in my room, with my E71 on Vodafone's network in my hand, and I get absolutely no signal at all. None. I step outside, and sit barely one meter from where I was on the other side of the wall and I finally get one bar of signal but even that doesn't last very long. If I head out into the middle of the road in front of the house, stand there and hold my phone straight up into the air and in my hand on a slight angle I can get a great signal, but unfortunately this makes me susceptible to a sudden car run-over.

11161 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Horrid at 7 Jan 2011 09:59:15 PM
I have Cover Me mobile insurance and have had to make a claim. I did everything by the book; made a claim via telephone armed with IMEI numbers etc.. everything good so far, good customer service and helpful advice.

Then I'm directed to hand my handset in to a Vodafone store - let the fail begin:

The store is Queen St Mall in Brisbane, QLD. I have to wait for 30 minutes before I finally get served by a young rep. He's not apologetic, more annoyed by the fact I want to make a claim because all he says is "why what's wrong with it?". Two things here: 1. I've already made an approved claim so just get on with it and 2. That's hardly the response I want to hear after waiting so long to be serviced.

He starts filling out the necessary forms to no avail - the store PC is taking too long, a problem apparently solved by going 'out back to the office'. So he slinks out of sight into a back office and leaves me waiting. This is when my attitude goes from 'lol what can you do' to boiling point. While he's out there reps keep moving in and out of the back office to get handsets for new customers. Through the thin gap the ajar door makes I see about 4 reps all sitting around fax machines, PCs and the lunch table laughing away. They may well be on their lunch break but when the guy who's filling out my app is among them it just makes it look like he doesn't give a fuck.

So I finally get to leave the store, my poor excuse of a temporary replace phone in tow (a Vodafone 736). But whatever, it's a replacement and nice to have a phone again. I make the journey home, plug the phone into the charger since it wouldn't turn on earlier due to flat battery - oh no wait it's not a flat battery, the replacement phone is faulty. Another adventure to the Vodafone store tomorrow. Yay :/
8 Jan 2011 08:49:35 PM: totally agree with ya, I had a few mates used to work for that store, they were saying that many of the staff just dont really care about customer service and would go to the back room to "have a chat" even customers are waiting. I guess thats why my mates have left the store :-S
9 Jan 2011 10:33:24 AM: Had the same experience but with an Allphones store. I am female. I was waiting to be served by an Indian male manager. A friend of his walked in, they chatted for several minutes totally ignoring, not even acknowledging my existence. I walked out. So it's not just Julia Roberts who has this problem!

Vodafone are absolute crap! i've been with them for about 6 years now and i've been experiencing problems with reception! everytime i call someone they either can't hear me properly or it cuts out and most of the time when i send txt msgs it gets sent twice when i've only sent it once! The worst mess i've been in so far has just happened recently where i've got a $149 cap from woolies and i've gone home straight away and pulled it out of my wallet to recharge my phone credit, i've pressed 1# to confirm my voucher number and for some strange reason they've directed me to vodafone call centre, i've explained to them what happened and the operator has asked me the voucher number as well as the serial number and it turns out that the voucher was already being used!! What the....??? i've gone back to woolies to complain abou the problem, they've checked it on their store camera's and so have I to make sure this lady hasn't picked up a used one off the counter, it turns out she hasn't. I've gone to ring vodafone again and complained and told them I was going to change phone companies if they didn'tn give me my credit and they said there's nothing they can do about it and all they could do was give me $50 straight credit!! 11147 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is SO FAILED, SO BAD at 7 Jan 2011 07:42:46 PM
We live in North Lakes QLD, 25km from Brisbane City (not central QLD).10year old suburb that is exploding in population and has 13000 people now and is expected to have 25000. Vodafail has never had good reception. We have both mobiles with Vodafone and wireless broadband. We had contunial drop out and nil service with our broadband and eventually got is disconnected but had to wait out our 12month contract. We have now served 18months of a 24month contract and we are soooo done.
We reported bad service levels and recption to the North Lakes store on several occassion and throughout this period and of course no action. Went back recently and got given a phone number - 1300650410 to get our phone disconnected. Called 10days ago (60mins on hold) and they took all details and tried to say the coverage map says its okay. Well from India it would look good but how about you come stand in my loungeroom and make a call. Continuous drop out, nil service, missed calls, late voicemails and it goes on. They said they will investigate and get back within 72hrs. 264hrs later and guess what? no call! My wife called today at 1530 to see what was happening, 30mins to get hold of someone, then 5mins to go through notes. They acknowledged there was a technical issue in the area (really!)and they would be upgrading the area. They told us that 4yrs ago when we moved here. Transfered to cancellation department where she was onhold for 2hrs. Phone call was answered and immediately cut off. Called back, waited 30mins, spoke to another peron, explained I wanted to speak to someone now and not be placed on hold again, so I was put on hold then transferred to another line that rang and rang and rang for 80mins. Meanwhile my husband called them at 1830 tonight on another phone. My wife is still holding and on the phone since 1530. 30mins later my husband got "Shakeil". Obviously blew my stack at him and explained the events of today and last week. He was very very sorry! and said he would have someone from the cancellation team call me within 24-48hrs... Well Shakeil, I have heard all this before. He promised he would email the team leader direct, send a text message to my wifes phone(which has no reception) confirming the call back booking.... I can tell you know we have never ever been so angry, frustrated and annoyed in all our lives. Thats about 5hrs of my life that we will never get back. This has led me to consume upwards of 5 beers so far tonight and waste a crap load of money on calls waiting to be answered.
I hope Shakeil can live up to his promise, cause if we don't get a call in 24-48hrs to approv the cancellation of our service, there will be trouble!
7 Jan 2011 07:53:31 PM: Shit, served 18 months so far out of 24, shouldnt they give early release for good behaviour, or parole perhaps?

11139 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is random at 7 Jan 2011 07:01:14 PM
Missed calls that go straight to message when phone is not in use and in range. In addition missed call and new messages come through anytime from minutes, hours or not at all. This is the same for text messages. Problem is I now know it is a one off and I have no confidence in my calls/messages getting through. I just call another user sitting beside me and the call went straight to message also text same person and some 1 hour later still no message. This is a case of what I do not know might harm me ie. what have I missed that I am totally unaware of?

am in qld, must of accidently clicked NT

anyway, also wanted to add, when i ring vodafone to tell them i want to up my monthly charge because i'm spending over and they are charging too much for extra calls, after being on hold for far too long a lady answers and tells me there is this new plan of $49 or whatever it was for $500 credit!!!!!!!! so for their new customers that just sign up they get $500 for their $49! and ME who has been with vodafone for past six years ... they don't bother to tell me about this amazing new plan!!!!! ROAR!!!
7 Jan 2011 10:25:18 PM: plans change all the time. All customer are free to switch to the new rates if they want however you just need to ask. As you are in a contract you need to request the changes yourself. In most cases the plans are better but for some people older rates may be better suited in regards to inclusions and call rates etc so that's why people aren't automatically switched.

I have a blackberry service through a Vodafone powered service, and its up about 10%. I am in brisbane and south side, watching the icons, and all is see is edge and gprs. Rarely do I get Blackbeerry coverage.
I rang Vodafail serveral time,s no calls back, just excuses.
It would be more sucessful to have two tin cans and fishing line strung out.
Not what I signed up for. "Fit for the purpose", no way..

11122 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is NON-EXISTENT CUSTOMER SERVICE at 7 Jan 2011 04:44:28 PM
I have now been on hold with Vodafone Customer service for 3 HOURS AND 10 MINUTES!

FOLLOWING IS THE CONTENT OF AN EMAIL JUST SENT TO EVERY VODAFONE EMAIL ADDRESS I COULD FIND FOR COMPLAINTS, PUBLIC RELATIONS AND MANAGEMENT:

"MY VODAFONE NUMBER: (0410) XXX XXX

Sirs

I dialled 1555 from my mobile in order to have a member of the Customer Support Team reset the password to enable me to log on to My Vodafone.

I HAVE BEEN ON HOLD FOR 3 HOURS and 15 MINUTES and just get a voice periodically telling me to "hang in there. We'll be with you very soon!"

When I did speak to Customer Service yesterday afternoon I was told the Vodafone Systems were down and inaccessible to carry out my request and that I should "call back in 24 hours".

It is out of frustration and desperation that I now send you this email.

I ask that you note my utter disgust and contempt at the poor level of service that Vodafone is providing to its customers and should I not have received a text message containing a temporary password allowing me access to Vodafone on line self-service features, I will cancel my subscription and forward the email to all national press agencies., It is with regret that I contemplate this step and also ask that you note that I herewith reserve my rights

Yours faithfully"

11119 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Disgraceful at 7 Jan 2011 04:13:24 PM
I am (was) a very long term Vodafone Customer who up until approximately 12 months ago was reasonably content with their service. I accepted poor coverage in regional areas and was constantly assured every time I took out another contract that 'the network was undergoing upgrades and would continue to improve'. It has since got progressively worse and is now completely unreliable and for the most part, unusable.
Living near the Brisbane CBD I now suffer continuous dropped calls, 1 bar of 3G (if I'm lucky), sporadic and poor data downloads, late SMS or voicemails, poor battery life due to continual network searching and an Iphone that works wonderfully as an Ipod and media device. It certainly doesn't run up a huge phone bill as it is spectacularly useless as a phone.
I also have a 3G mobile broadband USB device that has failed to work at all in terms of receiving my supposed 3Gig of free data per month. After numerous complaints and the standard 'technical investigations' Vodafone agreed to reduce my account by $10 per month after it admitted I lived in a poor reception area (7 kms from the CBD on a hill????).
So now I have a 3G USB device that serves nicely as a paperweight and an Iphone that I can listen to music on.
I now have to rely on a Telstra prepaid (a common theme from others on your website) to make calls. My constant complaints to Vodafone in relation to my phone reception was constantly met with the advice 'Switch your phone to 2G'.
If I wanted a 2G phone I would have damn well bought one. I paid for a 3G service and I don't have it. However their complaints system is so poor, wait times are so long, and requests are met with vague and generic 'investigations' or 'transfers to another team' that their expertise in bureacracy and spin rivals that of 'Yes Minister'or a team of spin doctors on Red Bull.
I contacted Vodafone last night (3 separate calls with an average 40 minute wait time) and advised I was cancelling my service. I was offered the same...wait for it...'technical investigation' (read stalling tactic)and advised I would have to pay the rest of my 18 months of payments (nearly $1200) to be released.
I am now working in direct support of the Queensland Floods in a senior planning position and my phone is critical to my work. I now have the phone switched off and transferred to another phone in order to ensure I am contactable.
I intend to pay the full amount as I am sick to death of dealing with customer service and their mythical 'technical investigations' (you don't need to be a communications engineer to determine that the network simply can't cope with so many smartphones competing for bandwidth)and leave in absolute disgust. Evidence will suggest that a bad customer experience generally results in advising at least ten of your friends of your experience. I intend to tell as many as I can to steer clear of this network as it continues to offer cheap deals and handsets with minimal or no reception.
I have contacted Australia's largest Telco who are very happy to match Vodafones price and guarantee the quality of their network. They also offered an incentive to transfer (they must be doing a roaring trade) and expressed they are dealing with many Vodafone customers who have given up in sheer frustration.
I am now nearly $1200 out of pocket and disgruntled with exceptionally poor serice and coverage. Quite simply I have had enough and will never go back to Vodafone.
I sincerely hope many others are released from their contracts, I have chosen to give up rather than spend my valuable time battling a huge corporation.
Incidentally I am more than happy for anyone from Vodafone to assess the veracity of my complaints and view for themselves the poor state of reception in and around Brisbane (not forgetting the national highway system, regional areas, inside buildings and in full view of Vodafone towers). I doubt however, that they will and fully expect the customer service offer of a 'callback; in 24 to 48 hrs (again a familiar theme on your website)will fail to eventuate, as will my 3G reception.

11 Nov 2011 06:57:27 PM: I had the very same problem and i went to the tio and i ported my number to telstra and i even ported my iPad number from optus to telstra the iPad number was a usb modem number and now i got rid of the optus modem and desposed it into a mobile phone recicabale bin but i would like to see how the vodafone 850 mhz band works and i can get the vodafone 850 mhz in my area but i can't get 2.1 ghz umts 3g on vodafone or optus at leased they are upgrading there towers to 850 mhz and 900 mhz and lte 1.8 ghz and lte is alot more robust then 3g umts 2.1 ghz

I just got a mms that was sent 6 days ago just then as I had to turn my phone on and off to get reception,,, but that was not the reason I wanted to comment.
I am practically in the middle of Brisbane (Highgate Hill) and for the 3 years our company has been with vodaphone we continually get drop outs and all the time cannot get reception from the top of Highgate Hill, Go Figure.
That is not the worst of it but I have not the time to complain any more so I will change out Companies mobile phone service provider over. It's been to long and without this website I would never have bothered, thanks for giving me the jolt to do something about it, my staff have been complaining for a while now.

Came over to Brisbane and Gold Coast with 2 iphones & purchased vodafone SIMs to avoid extortionate roaming data costs. Got a great deal ( I thought the included 3 gig of data for a month) They could have offered 30 gig or 3 meg - cause data just own't work after 6:00 am till 11:00 pm. Voda NZ had similar problems in the big cities ( yes, we do have one or 2), but they appear to have fixed it. Strangely, a day trip to a very busy Byron Bay in NSW saw the phones perform flawlessly, but, the minute we were back over the QLD border, the data just kept timing out!.

Maybe you could Vodafone AU borrow some request some engineers from their Kiwi counterpart to juice up their network!.

GoodLuck Amigos- I'm back to the land of the Long White Cloud & working mobile data on Sunday

7 Jan 2011 08:19:16 PM: What the f##k would they need engineers for, theres nothing wrong with the network

Phone "LARA", then spoke to Lester in India, then put on hold for an hour, the handset goes flat!!!! Phone 1555 on mob. It's been like that ever since Called up and complained and the issue was raised to the next level. They called me back 2 days later just to tell me that there was no coverage in the area and that I should go get a refund. In Brisbane?? Really?? Time to change to a new provider...

11071 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is absolute rubbish company at 7 Jan 2011 11:53:11 AM
Have had 2 phone numbers with vodafone for more than 12 years, still have reasonable service.

BUT ordered & received a new wireless modem after being convinced by voda to change from 3 & being assured the service would be better as well as also assurance that voda modem would work with 3 Huwei D100 wireless router. They sent me an invite, which basically said if I changed to them they would promise me fantastic service ---- what absolute bullshit!

Installed voda's software on 2 laptops, absolutely no improvement in service speeds (ran both companies side by side) & the voda modem does not work with the D100.

Vodafone goes out of it's way to piss customers off. I rang the "help?" number & talked to Mahmod in Mumbai, who after going through the heavily accented intro bullshit about wanting to give me the finest personal service told me straight up his training did not enable him to answer my queries.

Went online to voda site & via countless windows until tracking down the email "help?" address, which reads that due to technical problems they don't have email???? WTF?

Rang the computer voice number, which is a total customer piss-off.

If I can't talk to somebody when I'm not satisfied with a product 5 minutes after installation they can go f---k themselves!

Just putting everything back in the box to take the crap back to the nearest voda store (as suggested on the back of the instructions). Not expecting any help, I'm going there to return the crap for a refund.

11051 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is contract issue at 7 Jan 2011 10:23:03 AM
After running out of my current plan, Vodafone sales reps tried to resign me for another 24 months. As I was caught off guard, I accepted a new contract with them, only to fill out the cooling off form and post it back. My parents live in regional NSW and we I went to visit, no reception the whole time I was there, (didn't seem to be a problem for Optus and Telstra networks). Anyway after cancelling within the cool off period and switching to virgin, I have now been sent a $600+ contract cancellation fee, as well as charging me for a whole months service. As if!

11046 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Glad they don't sell parachutes! at 7 Jan 2011 10:09:47 AM
I'm actually with 3 and they've been very good - until the last 12 months. Perhaps Voidafone is the evil twin? But I shudder to think what will happen when they fully consummate - I suspect WE 3 customers will be the ones who will be screwed. I am in the middle of my 2nd major dispute with 3 over handset issues in the last 12 months, the first one a DOA that took 12 months to resolve.

Their call centre times aren't too bad and most of the Indians speak better English than most of the people in AU call centres - I assume because you only get the job because you are proficient in the language - not because you'll scream "discrimination" if you can't speak English intelligibly.

The problem is that there are less people with delegated authority to fix things now. And a VERY OMINOUS SIGN - I found out yesterday that their "Customer Relations Team" no longer exists. I suspect Voidafone needs 3 more than 3 needs them, but I bet the lowest common denominator will rule the day.

I'll probably have to take an early upgrade to fix my handset issue (though TIO is tempting) but I'm only going to take a 12 month contract and would recommend all other 3 customers do the same if they must renew.
7 Jan 2011 10:15:45 AM: YES! Some do scream "discrimination" if you tell them that they are hard to understand. One of them actually told me that I am a "racist" after my comment of "Im sorry but your accent is too strong, I can't understand you".

I live in Kangaroo Point on the river, a stones throw from the CBD and am constantly out of service. I live on the top story of our unit complex and have calls dropping out mid conversation. The internet on my iPhone is constantly dropping out and I am often unable to send text messages. The service sits on one bar even in the CBD and whenever I go into a vodafone store they tell me that there is nothing they can do and I should call the 1555 number which I am on hold on for hours. I was also using a USB Internet stick which never worked. When I complained about this, the vodafone store gave me another stick which didnt work either. I am sick of this poor reception and consistently poor service in store. I don't like dealing with people over the phone. Whenever I have a question about my contract or account I am also referred to the service number. Also make sure you are all checking your bills thoroughly as I have been charged for sending texts to the same number that I was having a phone call with at the exact same time. My room mate is also with vodafone and has the exact same issues.
7 Jan 2011 07:46:46 PM: im the same i HATE dealing with these things on the phone coz they never listen. id rather do it face to face so i can explain the problem but the staff in store dont want to hear it, once you have signed your contract suddenly they have no reason to help you and suddenly they say they arnt able to help and u need to call the number. These 10,000+ consumers demonstrate a total failure to perform by VODAFONE so WHAT IS OUR NATIONAL WATCHDOG DOING?????? Wake up ACCC & all our State Govt Consumer Departments!!! What the hell do we pay you guys for but to protect us from parasites like this ripping us off on a massive scale. If VODAFONE were a small car yard they would be on 60 Minutes same day and have government ministers shaking their fists but somehow there are 2 entirely different sets of rules. But listen to this.... ACT NOW OR WE WILL SACK YOU ALL..... What other product in the marketplace is allowed to make consumers pay more BY FAILING TO PERFORM?????? mmmm... the banks come next ok!
6 Jan 2011 10:02:52 PM: Make that 11,000.
6 Jan 2011 10:36:26 PM: 11,000 out of 4.5 Million, that's like totally 0.2% of the customer base !
6 Jan 2011 10:45:07 PM: 11,000 people have taken the effort to search for this website and post on it. There is always a silent majority and all 4.5 million customers are not aware this website exists. 110,000 people have visited this website so by your logic that would make it closer to 10%. However if Vodafone is confident these issues only affect the people who post on this website them maybe it should inform all of it's customers that this website exists.
7 Jan 2011 07:34:29 AM: You raise an interesting point about double standards by politicians and the so called crusading TV shows. If companies are large and can advertise on the TV station they seem to be immune from scrutiny. The little operator gets crucified but large companies other than banks and sometimes Telstra
7 Jan 2011 09:07:41 AM: Once they have you on contract they have you by the balls. They will make you jump through hoops and perform like a circus clown to break the contract.

10950 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Incompetent at 6 Jan 2011 04:19:06 PM
I have been with Vodafone for 9 years. I used to live in regional QLD, and reception was never any problems. However, in the past 6 months, reception even in the heart of Brisbane has been intermittent (in particular, data connections are terrible).

Over Christmas I drove north for 4 hours, and actually visited the house I used to live in. Both my wife and my phone had no service, and a friend of mine who used to work for Vodafone who lives nearby told me that he changed back to Telstra (who he hated with a passion) for that very reason. I had two pockets of reception in the town, and nothing during the 4 hours travel time between.

I am glad our car hasn't broken down on the highway, we wouldn't have been able to call for assistance.

I also have a problem with their billing. Quite often the bills I receive are for different amounts, with confusing explanations provided if I call.

Recently I got rid of my N97 mini (Voda's flagship phone for a while, which turned out to be a god-awful piece of rubbish... couldn't even make calls on it most of the time) and moved to a Desire HD. Voda tried to hit me for the early termination, but I complained and they 'lessened' it somewhat. When it came time for the direct debit, this amount exceeded my credit card limit -- I couldn't get through to anyone on the phone, and to this day I am still unable to sign up to MyVodafone, it sends me a temporary password which does not work (Voda tell me "We're having problems, please try again next week" every time). So I was unable to change my direct debit details -- so they sent me a text saying that my debit failed and to call them. I finally got through to someone that same morning, and arranged to have the amount deducted from my bank account. It seems they have no problems helping you out when you owe them money. Anyway, lo-and-behold I get my next bill and they slug me with a $20 'dishonour fee'. *Sigh*

I hope they get their act together very quickly, since my family all use Vodafone.

10945 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Fail at 6 Jan 2011 03:58:03 PM
My Partner and I have long been happy 3 customers. Recently, when his contract ended, he went into what used to be the 3 store (now covered in vodafone signs) and requested to renew his contract with 3. they said this was no longer possible as 3 was becoming defunct in 2011 (and which I later found out was a lie.) One of the benefits of 3, and the reason I signed up was the free calls to others on the same network, enabling me to avoid costly interstate calls when I wanted to speak to my family. Once he moved over to Vodafone, I was charged for all calls made to his number! I went and inquired at the vodafone store, and the man i spoke to rudely stated I should have realised i would no longer get free calls as 'technically' im not calling 3 anymore! I thought seeing as they forced my partner to move over, and Vodafone now owned Hutchinson Australia, they would continue this service! explanation please!
I'm also unimpressed with the lack of information to customers re: the switch from 3 to vodafone. Shouldnt vodafone have informed all 3 customers we would eventually be moved over to a vodafone service! I've never had a problem with and was just going to stay with 3 and then eventually get moved over to vodafone, but after being referred to this site and reading some of the drama's, I think I'll move to Telstra! Im sick of Huge multi-national corporations ripping off honest everyday people!Good work Vodafail for allowing disgruntled consumers to voice their opinions and illustrate ways of getting out of these contracts!
6 Jan 2011 07:13:58 PM: 1. Most Vodafone plans have unlimited calls to 3 and Vodafone
2. If you're not happy with the change to Vodafone, ask to switch back - Easy
- This is another example of someone complain for the sake of complaining

10943 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is frustrating!!!!! at 6 Jan 2011 03:47:44 PM
I live in Brisbane...and still I have no reception ever...well sometimes I get one bar. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
6 Jan 2011 03:56:17 PM: Before I got away from vodafail I would be running around my apartment and out on to my balcony trying to get better reception on a failing call that eventually dropped no matter what. And I live in Homebush Bay, the site of the Sydney Olympics and 5 minutes drive from the ANZ stadium! One of the most heavily serviced areas of Australia. If I get dropped calls then heaven help rural people because vodafail won't!
7 Jan 2011 06:25:41 AM: vodafail are onto it, they are securing deals to build massive high rise apartments all around sydney, in order to relocate their rural customers to areas where they may (occasionally) get coverage
