Dear visitor,
Since its inception Vodafail.com has made a significant
contribution towards raising awareness of the problems and issues faced
by Vodafone customers.
Vodafone Australia customers have had the opportunity to voice their concerns, their fears and their troubles from every corner of Australia and beyond our borders.
You have gathered the courage to stand up for your rights as consumers and to make your voice heard.
Each and every person who shared their story should have a sense of pride in this achievement and the changes that have occurred since the start of Vodafail.com.
More recently, traffic to Vodafail.com has declined significantly.
Having achieved the goal of raising awareness and promoting concrete action in early 2011, we have now reached the point of closing Vodafail to new complaints.
The site will remain online for as long as possible as a
reminder and an example of what is possible when we share our experiences.
It has been a privilege to run this initiative
and I'm am forever grateful for the help and support I've received. In
particular I would like to thank Melissa, David and Travis for their
continued efforts over the past 15 months. I'm also thankful and humbled by the support of ACCAN, Choice magazine and a wide range of media outlets, blogs and websites.
You can still browse existing stories and find out how to file a complaint if you are experiencing problems.
Until next time,
Adam Brimo

29 Dec 2010 01:15:32 PM: doesn't seem like a polite way of putting it but i guess it is a reality, there is genuinely more problems than usual, but no it's not affecting everyone on voda! They'll work out, they were planning on the network upgrade yonks ago, they just sold to many plans leading up to it and ran out of time, they'll catch up, OPTUS had a similar problem not so long ago, they just got a better timed jump on it.

8396 Someone from ACT thinks vodafone is Very bad coverage at my working area at 29 Dec 2010 12:52:06 PM
My company has provided all the staff with Vodafone's Top Business Cap Plan as we are using the mobiles to communicate with our clients and service providers. The network services from Vodafone is getting worst and worst. I even can't make a call from my desk in the office. My office is situated in Wanniassa. Another example is when I was using Bluetooth while driving, the line would always dropped out and had to wait for the network to come back, then to call back and apologize to the person I have been talking with earlier.
It is really bad for us who are using Vodafone to communicate with our clients. Another thing is the frequent delay of receiving and sending of SMS.
I think the best thing for us to do is to change the Provider from Vodafone to Telstra when our contracts with Vodafone is expired.

29 Dec 2010 12:59:29 PM: Don't trust Telstra either - I have it in their black and white where they have double charged me, then added $280 to my a/c and as for the TIO, all I can get from them is, 'please fill in the attached form' (which I have frequently) but you might just as well 'use' the fan!
8389 Someone from ACT thinks vodafone is Doesn't fail too hard at 29 Dec 2010 12:49:48 PM
Look. I've been reading many of these complaints, and many people have simply ignore the complexity of the issues that they face. For example, handset problems:
-One person claimed that their handset broke and Vodafone refused to fix it. Now, the reason why was never made clear- but I believe that they may have had an iPhone. The iPhone, unlike every other handset that Vodafone stocks, is covered by only a 12 month warranty.
-Another person claimed that they got no signal with their iPhone 4 whenever they went to make a call. This is the iPhone's problem, again. Holding the iPhone 4 in your left hand kills the signal- and that's not Vodafone's fault.
Then, you have people who didn't actually troubleshoot:
-One person claimed that although they could see the Vodafone network with their mobile broadband device, they couldn't connect. I had the same issue- it turns out you must go into settings and pick "contract" or "prepaid" depending on the service you have.
-Another person claimed they were unable to send a text message or access the net with a nokia phone after getting a phone unlocked from another carrier. This may be because they didn't set up the short message service centre (SMSC), and they didn't set up the access point.
Also, I've noticed some racist comments being made about the service centre. Look, again, most telcos outsource- and frequently to India. They try their best I hope. Tell them that you know your rights, and if the coverage is not good in the location, and they troubleshoot and nothing works, ask to speak to a supervisor. You are allowed to by the rules to get a supervisor to speak to you if you ask 3 times. and they can break contract.
I hope this has helped. As for me, I love Vodafone. I have a Nokia N900, fine with mobile internet, but my mobile broadband sucked in terms of speed, so I asked, and they broke the contract, and sent back the modem.
Regard, Dr. B (a happy Vodafone customer)

To bad if you're in business where you rely greatly on your phone and your phone call drops out when you're in the middle of a business deal.... If you want it to happen 'constantly'... just sign up with Vodafone... they will contribute to stuffing up your business transactions.

8360 Someone from ACT thinks vodafone is We Gotta Follow The Rules! at 29 Dec 2010 12:28:12 PM
Until the ACCC makes new recommendations, or the class action gets up, we still need to follow all the rules, yes it has been established and admitted by Vodafone that their is a problem but that doesn't give anyone the rights to stop paying or just port out and cancel, if you do this you will affect your credit file and you will be in the wrong.
Keep a diary of events, establishing the problem.
Figure out exactly what you would like to be done about it, be prepared to compromise!
Contact Vodafone tell them what the problem is and what you would like as a remedy.
If then they can't help you, then contact the TIO, or join the class action.
Wait times are crap at the moment of course because of all the problems, you will have to be patient and wait your turn, and yes it sucks, but until you have actually spoken to them and they have not agreed to help, they haven't done anything wrong!
And remember you'll catch way more flies with honey than vinegar, be polite, be reasonable, be patient, it always works best!

I have two phones on the vodafone network for the past 8 weeks. During this time I have had next to no internet access in Belconnen, Civic and Kambah. Phone calls drop out all the time. Delayed SMS. In addition to that the credits that should have been applied to both accounts ($100 on one and 1 month free plus $50 on the other) have not been honored despite 4 phone calls to customer service.
I am now trying very hard to exit these contracts. Worst phone experience ever.

My husband and I switched across to Vodafone and purcahsed on contract 2 phones, one of which failed within two weeks of use. With the failed phone, the service centre is offering a "refurbished" phone which is unacceptable. In the meantime, I bought yet second phone for myself on the contract. Consistently have on service both voice and data inside the house since the last 2-3 weeks, whereas it was OK before. Cannot contact my husband the majority of the time as he does not work in a fixed location in Canberra. Have to go 1km down the road from our house to be able to make voice calls. Spent 2 hours talking to Vodafone Service Centre, Customer Care, "Loyalty" department with no resolution only to be told by a very arrogant Loyalty supervisor in the end that this is not their issue, to contact Technical Department!!!

8238 Someone from ACT thinks vodafone is obtuse/paranoid at 29 Dec 2010 10:23:08 AM
I have wireless internet at home with Vodafone Pocket wifi. I'm in Griffith. So far no major probs except for some pages really slow to load-my Telstra iphone loads faster but is more expensive so don't want to use at home.
My one major issue was with inadequate customer service refusing to tell me MY WIFI key needed for when some one else here needed to access internet. I'd given customer service all other details...serial number/account detail/sim card number/mob number of modem/name etc....what's with all the secrecy?!!
Customer support guy could not understand what we wanted to do and it took ages- him telling us to do useless things and he kept calling the WIFI key by another name so we didn't actually know that's what he was talking about-useless.......and there was no internet access at all because initially wrong number was put in so it disconnected my wireless...eventually after giving up/hanging up I found the tiny sticker with the WIFI key number on it....

Poor reception - situated under the harbour bridge - still can't get reception.
Somebody shoot Lara! Waited for hours on the phone to contact customer support (and I do mean hours) to be told that my issue about being unable to log in to MyVodaphone issue was temporary and would be resolved straight away. Now a month later still can't connect!
They should lose their licence as these issues are not accidents - poor service is one thing, Lara is deliberate and crap and their lying non customer service is a disgrace.
Lets take them on - apparently all calls to the onbudsman cost them $60!

8101 Someone from ACT thinks vodafone is extremely fail at 29 Dec 2010 08:35:31 AM
Im from the ACT and you would think that would mean my service works however as my husband is also on vodafone we are often unable to contact each other it goes direct to voicemail or comes up with a connection error. Messages that are sent are sometimes not received until days later if at all. This causes issues when trying to contact each other in relation to our 19 month old daughter. I have tried to contact vodafone on a number of occassions and have spent up to 3 hours on hold only then to be hung up on
8080 Someone from ACT thinks vodafone is Epic Fail at 29 Dec 2010 08:21:48 AM
I am with the 3 network and they were fine until they were bought by vodaphone. I am on the $69 plan and was paying around $70-$80 a month. As soon as vodaphone tool control my bills are now in excess of $200. I have done nothing different in the way I use the phone. I was not informed by 3 that they were being sold to vodaphone and when I called them, after hours of being on hold, their help desk was anything buy helpful and I was left with no questions being answered. I am now stuck with a rediculous plan that doesnt meet any of their side of the contract, no reseption and no way out of the contract for another year. This phone company is an absolute joke and I would even say it is a crimanl act.
29 Dec 2010 08:24:20 AM: 3 and Vodafone aren't using the same network it's not as simple as just flicking a switch, if you are having 3 problems then it has nothing to do with the voda problems, just ask Telstra

No 3 and Voda aren't using the same network it's not as simple as just flicking a switch, if you are having 3 problems then it has nothing to do with the voda problems
Yes transact use vodafone, but that doesn't mean that vodafone dictate your billing, if your having transact billing problems, speak to transact, you dont go to telstra if you are having optus problem just cause they lease their lines.
No you cant just leave your contracts, even if its not working, no matter how long it takes, you have to speak to customer care, says Graeme Samuels Chairman of the ACCC (WA today 17th dec 2010)
The Australian Approved Standard for the failure rate of electronic products and services is 3%-5%, what is represented here is about 0.25% of there customer base.

Very poor phone reception with continual drop outs, No internet access from home, and I am receiving text messages at 1am that were sent at 9.00pm.
As I live in a major city I would think coverage would not be a problem my husband has a Telstra phone and has no problems anyware in town.
They have not delivered on what I signed up for, I will not get sucked in and ripped off by this company again and neither will my family and freind's.
Pathetic!!!!

i have a vodafone sim with the Expiry date of 21-11-2011 and vodafone sent me a text that my account will be suspended on 29/12/2010 and to recharge to continue using your mobile
29 Dec 2010 07:50:44 AM:
if your using a 365day recharge that would make perfect sense, after your credit expires approx 3-4 weeks after that your sim expires as you have had an entire year of credit expiry, what ever credit you have left will roll over if you use another 365 day.

29 Dec 2010 12:59:48 AM: It is about gaining a collective of people, this site does exactly that. Well done to the sites creator and to the people that have posted their problems.
29 Dec 2010 01:00:01 AM: Nope it won't. I went to the TIO and got out of my contract 9 months early with no break fees or handset costs. For the last week, I have been using a great service on another character.
Now I'm making it my mission to ensure others are armed with info to do the same.
But thanks for your post. It's the thought that counts.

Service in Ngunnawal is unreliable. You go for a walk around the block while having a conversation and you can expect the call to drop out at least once. I have friends try to call me and finish calling my home phone, asking me why my mobile is turned off. When I look at the phone it shows that it has service but trying to call it from the landline reports that it is switched off or not in a service area! I have been a vodafone customer for about 12 years and feel the service has deteriorated. I recently purchesed a post paid sim only contract as I neededto be able to send and receive SMS as a minimum while overseas. My prepaid service was not able to be used in the contry in question so a post paid number was the only solution offered by vodafone. When I returned to Australia after my last trip, I discovered that I can no longer call overseas landlines, only mobiles from either service. Trying to get customer support through their stupid LAURA system runs you in circles until it hangs up on you and cost a premium from you included credit. Vodafone should at least make calls to this unbearable impersonal support system free!

Can not receive phone calls at random times. Called them and they tried to avoid the problem by asking me questions about internet connectivity on my phone. I had to repeatedly tell the retarded customer service guy that i am not calling about internet on my phone i am calling about issues receiving phone calls. Absolutely useless, unreliable telco and customer service.

Delays in receiving texts, calls dropping out on a daily basis and a useless blackberry handset that was promoted by the store clerk as a better option than an iphone hands down!

I have been a vodafone customer for a while however I recently travelled overseas and activated global roaming. Upon returning to Australia I noticed that I wasnt receiving text msgs on time, able to make calls when I wanted, or able to receive calls most times. I contacted vodafone on several occasions to discuss my issues but it took about 5 calls and most of the day to speak to someone there. ONce I did the customer service operator told me to disable 3G and go to the slower 2G network to resolve the issue. WHen I stated that it would slow my internet connection down the operator said it would only slow it down a "little". I believe the advice goven by vodafone was not the ideal solution. Also, I wanted to unlock my iphone (which is no longer under contract) to which I was quoted a fee of around $75 to unlock it. This fee is ridiculous and overpriced!
I have also been sucessful in two refunds from vodafone after submitting complaints with the telecommunications ombudsman regarding very poor wireless usb internet coverage.
I hate vodafone (and all sub class networks for that matter) - but cant afford the premium services and good coverage of Telstra.
Cheers,
Aaron of Canberra

I signed up for a 2 year contract with Vodafail around August / September. Come October I receive my bill by email with a banner at the bottom claiming that if I add a 2nd mobile to my account I will get 2 months free access.
As my partner was in need of a new phone I signed up for the 2 months free access deal.
The November bill arrived - containing charges for BOTH plans. I figured paying for the 1st months access then getting the next 2 free was reasonable. So I paid that one.
Then the December bill arrives..... ANOTHER charge for the "free" access mobile.
It was time to call "customer support" (which I usually try to avoid doing as the whole LARA process makes me angry... But that's another complaint all together.) After leaving my number and receiving a call back about an hour later (so much for their 16 to 25 minutes) I explained to the lady on the other end about the deal and the bills. She put me on hold for another 20 minutes only to come back and tell me that the deal does not exist.
I brought her attention to the emailed bill I have received direct from Vodafail offering this deal and offered to forward it to her. I was put on hold for another 35 minutes...
When she came back she told me that yes, it does exist and that (apparently) my next 2 bills will be credited - but I still have to pay the access for this month's bill.
Let's see when / if this credit will appear. If it doesn't appear on my next bill I will be contacting the TIO.

28 Dec 2010 08:46:12 PM: Australia is a very backwards country in comparison to network service providers in Europe. I come from Easter Europe, my country has only existed as such for 20 years, and the telecom service providers are miles ahead in their development. I never experienced any problems with my mobile phones living in Eastern Europe, but as soon as I arrived in Australia - Vodafone has given me lots of trouble. The way Vodafone is treating its customers would be completely unacceptable where I come from. How has Vodafone gotten away with it so long?

My husband and I signed up with vodafone about six months ago. About three months into our contract, we started having email problems. Our email account was with telstra yet out phone account for the mobiles were with vodafone. No one could or would assist us in resolving out 'cannot send your email, a copy has been placed in your outbox' issue. We then had issues with our voicemails not being received for some 24 hours. Most recent issue, about 3 days ago relates to text msgs. Msgs I send may not turn up for several hours, days or just not at all. Very frustrating considering we are on a two year contract. We WILL NOT be staying or recommending vodafone to anyone.

Phone will not receive calls or txts most of the time for past 4-5 weeks. Vodaphone 1555 have offered to cancel contract without penalty because of chronic congestion in postcode 2905 and they won't be upgrading network in near future - they have yet to deliver on cancelling contract because of public holidays. It has cost me money because I am trying to run a small business.

since 3 changed to vodaphone, my phone drops out everytime someone rings me, I can not hear what they are saying & my husband needs his phone for work, which is very frustrating, messages come through late, I never even knew that 3 had changed & were now going through vodaphone towers instead of Telstra.

Complained to Vodafone YET AGAIN, and was supplied with an iPhone. I don't get reception in my house. To call or send a message I have to go outside a d try for a signal. Many many drop outs. Receipt of text messages and phone messages days later. Too bad if there was an emergency! I have been to many different Vodafone stores with complaint and still nothing. Places where I have not had reception
These are within the last 8 months and are from memory due to it leaving an imprint on my mind....
- Tathra (NSW)on holidays - whilst it may seem ok we had a fire in the van and needed to call out - awesome....
- Nowra - large portions that included my house in a residential area on the northern side and my work on the southern side
- Canberra (Northside and southside)numerous areas - mainly when trying to talk to my wife who works shift work and walks to her car in a poorly lit area at night and tries to call me so I can make sure she gets to her car safely...
- Wagga Wagga - anywhere outside of the main residential area
- Hume Highway outside of Sydney and Melbourne - what about if a car accident occurs in the majority of this highway - hopefully someone stops to help... and has "another providers" phone
- Western Australia - basically anywhere outside of Perth - which when there is no cars on the road ie. one every hour or so if you are lucky, a dual flat tyre and no phone is not that flash - not that much water around out there....
network covers 98% of Australia hey...... must be anywhere I don't go then

7472 Someone from ACT thinks vodafone is Extreme Fail at 28 Dec 2010 06:37:24 PM
I dont know where to start!!! I have contacted Vodafone that many times I have lost count in this month alone. I have had continual problems with my phone from having no service to limited service whilst remaining in the same place. I have frequently been unable to call from my phone without having to switch it off, take the battery out and put in back in and wait for it to restart itself which takes anywhere from 1 min to 5 minutes all just to make a phone call even then more often then not after attempting to call I will hear those annoying three tones and " call failed" pops up on the screen. This is happening more and more. Again with service problem, trying to send text messages takes at least three attempts for it to go through and for those attempts that are unsuccessful I am given the alert "equipment failed" - thats an understatement!! and a further service complaint, as part of my contract I am entitled to 50MB of internet usage/downloads and for months this has been compromised and only working occasionally but as of the last three weeks I have completely lost internet access with a message appearing saying "A communication failure has occurred. The server may be busy, please try again later. If the problem persists please contact your service provider." - good luck with that!!! Not to mention the day i was doing the dishes and heard the artificial camera sound as though someone was taking a photo, being home alone i found this quite disturbing... my phone had started taking pictures all on its own and i was unable to stop it doing this, i couldn't turn the phone off so the only way to stop it was to take the battery out, in which case my husband was unable to contact me being that my mobile is my only phone in the house, i turned my phone back on some time later to find it was till doing the same thing... we have video footage of this on my husbands phone. all of the above has been extremely frustrating and having being into Vodafone shops to asks for assistance and yet not gotten anywhere with it has made it even more frustrating. I was told that they could not send it away because at the time that i had the phone in the Vodafone store they workers in there shouldn't "see" anything wrong with the phone. the second time i went in to the store to have my phone fixed they told me they couldn't offer me a "loan phone" as they didn't have any left therefore sending my phone away would have left me completely phoneless... not an option for me and considering i am still paying $79 a month (actually $88.98 includes phone insurance... fat lot of good it was getting insurance!!) i dont think it is fair to be still paying for something that is either sent away for two weeks or is not working.
But the straw that broke the camels back was 4 weeks ago when my father had a heart attack i was unable to use my phone, i had to travel interstate and was unable to contact my husband and immediate family on my travels. This only added to the upsetting circumstances. So on return home from visiting my ill father I rang Vodafone and requested to either end my contract or have my contract upgrade in attempt to get a phone that works, initially i was offered and 50% deduction on the early upgrade fee meaning that i would have to pay ~$150 to be able to upgrade my phone. i don't know about anybody else but there is no way i am going to pay MORE money to get a phone that works when I am already paying $88.98 a month for something that is not working... seriously. I was then put through to the manager of loyalty and i explained all of the above and he assured me that I have every reason to be upset with the service is have received and that he would enable me to be upgraded and that I would receive a new handset in 7-10 days and that this should fix the problems I have being having. Given that I made that phone call 0n 5th Dec 2010 and I had still not received my new phone on the 20th of Dec I started to get quite annoyed, however I did receive a phone call from Vodafone and told that if I paid my "overdue" bill then my upgrade could be started to be process... so yes nothing had been done for those two weeks obviously.
As for the supposed "overdue Bill" (that wasn't overdue) this had been paid 4-5 days prior but their system had not updated it. I explained that I was extremely disappointed that it had not been processed earlier and that I expected this to be done right there and then as I had already been quite patient and still had a phone with poor service and that wasn't working properly. He assured me that this would be attended to. I was then called a day or two later ringing to let me know that they had received the payment of my bill and that they could now process my upgrade.. obviously this still day not been done and for the third time in three phone calls I corrected my postal address with them. After all of this I came to the conclusion that I was obviously not a valued customer and I would ring and speak with the manager and let them know how disappointed I was and inform them that I wish to cancel my dealings with Vodafone... the reply I received when I told them this was "Well I find this very disappointing"..... they find it disappointing????? I have given Vodafone every chance to keep me as their customer and have been paying for something that has not worked according to its contract agreement. THAT is disappointing!!!!
But after speaking with the Loyalty manager i was told that there were too many calls in the line for the cancellations department for me to speak with them at the time and that she would make sure they called me back within 24-48 hours..... AND.... OF COURSE I still haven't heard from them six days later. I called them yesterday, that being three days after i was told i would hear from them by and informed that the cancellations department was closed and would be reopened on Wednesday that being tomorrow. Calling them tomorrow morning will be the first thing I do.
You know the reason I was with Vodafone was because I was told that they had the best customer service over and above other Telecompanies, let face it, it definitely wasn't because it has the best service network!
But of course when I signed up i was "Guaranteed" that the service will only get better.... I would have to DEFINITELY have to disagree!!! It has only gotten worse and given that Vodafone has proven me wrong in thinking that they had good customer service i am left believe that Vodafone as a company has absolutely nothing left to offer!!! Very Disappointed... Thank you for reading my novel titled "Pure Vodafail"
28 Dec 2010 06:36:35 PM: ads for optus and telstra, why none for vodafone?
28 Dec 2010 06:37:50 PM: We will be happy if the ads cover the cost of hosting this website and it cannot possibly account for the time we have spent. - Vodafail Team

7155 Someone from ACT thinks vodafone is Transact implicated in this mess at 28 Dec 2010 05:43:52 PM
I have 18 months to go on a Transact plan. Not happy Jan! Transact uses Vodafone network, no reception 5 minutes either side of Bateman's bay - did Transact even consider that the south coast is the holiday capital for ACT? On top of that, after being charged an oversized bill, was informed by Transact that Vodafone does not permit them to allow customers online access to monthly usage rates. Only option is to call and ask, which of course takes bulk time. I suspect its a vodafone ploy to get more soft $$$ from unsuspecting contracted customers.

Everybody is in the same boat! A company just getting away with ripping of the hard working australian ... Fair Dinkum!
I signed to Vodafone almost 12 years ago, up until three years ago when Vodafone's service started going down, down in the sense the reception coverage dropped, the service from the providers got from worst to worster (not a word... but nor is Vodafone's offer of 98% coverage) I left Vodafone and went to 3 (Three)... What a deal I was in for!
Vodafone brought Three and there went my service and the coverage!
I tried to leave in October this year and was shown coverage charts and a great deal, if only I could use it! or ... not be charged roaming everywhere I go!
The biggest Vodafail is the vodafone station tower that Vodafone erected in our suburb (kambah ACT)... 'If I could climb up it, I dont think I would get any better reception!
You cannot track your usage like Vodafone promise, so how can the company give deals? (Misleading or What?) (Legal or Not?)

28 Dec 2010 05:58:47 PM: Vodafone and 3 still use separate networks, 3 is still in contract with TELSTRA, thats who your roaming to, 3 is trying to move people to Vodafone with the intention of ending there agreement with TELSTRA, Vodafone have been racing to upgrade the network, but looks like they have underestimated the capacity required and have started too late, they will get there but who knows how long it will take
7124 Someone from ACT thinks vodafone is Vodafone can go fuck themselves. at 28 Dec 2010 05:34:07 PM
I tried to cancell my contract , I was told multiple times that I had been canceled by vodafone, but THEN I kept getting post saying it was being processed. Every time I got one of those letters I rang customer service and was lied to. I was hung up on multiple times, usually while in the middle of a sentence. I was promised half a dozen call backs and never got any. I was repeatedly told no supervisors were available to escalate my call, when I could clearly hear people giving the person I was speaking to instructions in the backgroud
AT the end i bought myself out of my mobile contract with them by sending them back a 6 month old HTC desire.
The one call I got from them was the day after I spent money to get the fuck out of my mobile contract so that I would never have to deal with the useless pricks again. The guy who rang was also the only person who seemed even remotely competent.
Vodafone can go fuck themselves.

Vodafone is the absolute worst phone company around! I have to walk around like a fool when im out trying to look for reception everywhere i go. It's like trying to find a needle in a haystack! Everytime i'm in a call the phone drops out, messages don't send, i try call people and it results with 'CONNECTION ERROR', people try call me and apparently my phone's off.. How good is that! I use vodafone for my business mobile aswell and that looks really good for me to have clients try call but my phone results as off or always cutting out. I've been so close to throwing my phone at a wall so many times even though i know it's not the phone, it's just it's ridiculous service provider! I've really had enough now and i can't even switch from voda because of my contract but i guarantee as soon as it's done i'm running. FARKENN EPIC FAILL.. HARDD!!!!

Vodafone kept sending me daily messages at stupid hours of the day telling me i had insufficient credit to complete the transaction (my credit balance rarely falls below $50). Tried calling them for two days straight wasting a total of 14 hours 45 mins on hold only to be hung up on with each attempt beforr actually speaking to a human. Logged a complaint through the website and was advised i would receive a response within 25 hours. 1 week later, I resumed calling Voda several times a day only to be hung up on after wasting around 2 hours on hold each time. Finally, about a month later, i received a call and was told the issue was resolved, only to receive the same stupid texts a two in the morning. Is always an endless loop with them!!

6761 Someone from ACT thinks vodafone is Money left on my Account/ Balance? at 28 Dec 2010 04:22:19 PM
I have a cap plan. Why is it not possible to receive an accurate account balance? Every month it is a guess how much money is left to use! If I would have a pre-paid SIM, than it would not work when the amount of money is used. Why can Vodafone not make a signal that tells us; the monthly money is used. Or send a SMS for every $10.00 used over the cap plan. In time, not days/ weeks later!

I am locked in to a 2 yr contract (1 yr to go) with Vodafone for both my USB stick modem and iphone. I get one bar reception, very slow data feed, on the modem, and find data feed on iphone slow. I can't even watch a youtube with my VFone internet modem, and internet connection often drops out. There's no excuse, I live in north canberra (belconnen) which is close to the centre of Canberra. I would like to hand the USB modem back, but they tell me I'm locked in.
6742 Someone from ACT thinks vodafone is EPIC FAIL at 28 Dec 2010 04:05:41 PM
My problems started with 3 mobiles not offering a great amount of coverage at my address. 3 mobiles had agreed to let me port my number to another services provider with out charge. They suggested that a Vodafone sales person would call me to check my coverage and if it was good, Vodafone would sign me over. I was happy to do so because I was advised that the mobile 3g coverage in my area was good. Less then a month after signing up, I missed days worth of calls and txt msg, calls would suddenly drop, and constantly not being able to make calls even when my phone shows full coverage. I called Vodafone and after following the automated promts to technical support, I was advised I was in the wrong department and needed to transfer me to the correct one. After waiting a further 20 minutes, they advised that an investigation was being raised and this was going to take around 3 weeks to get some sort of answer. I told them this was not good enough and that I use my phone also for work, and the customer service rep said "it sounds important so I'll have some one call you the next day". Well, I never got that call. I called Vodafone back 5 days later and demanded that I be released from my contract as they have failed to deliver the mobile service I sign up for. I was advised some one will call me back tomorrow. I wont hold my breath...

There has been times when i have urrgently needed reception but MAJOR FAIL. I went to every vodafone outlet in Canberra and they told me they were 'building new towers' i then rang up and was put on hold for 2 hours to be told that the problem would not be resolved till June because of the 'new towers' I have now been forced to switch to Optus which is a pity because my whole family and friends are on vodafone but don't you wory they are also switching to a reliable service provider. 1stly they misrepresented the dell deal to my 72yo grandfather who was told it was FREE, and seeing as he needed internet he tried to listen, signed a contract for 24 mths in which the dell mini 10 was supposedly free, which he still has in plastic ( he used a dongle on a desktop) and a 6gb 3g plan as ADSL is NOT available in his area....6-7 mths into the contract he gets SLAMMED with a bill for $300+ in excess usage when he would at most use the net for 2 - 3 times a month for 1 - 2 hrs at a time, this is When and IF he CAN get service. Being 70+ and having limited pc knowledge i have his windows account as a user not admin and he CANNOT install programs, this keeps my maintainance of his pc down. and Prevents P2P or malware , virii etc...now i phoned vodafone re the charges and they say that they apply....This is his Second Contract and THEY TRIED THIS BULLSHIT ON THE OTHER ONE ALSO! At approx the same time through the contract.... I SMELL SOMETHING FISHY, and it looks like its coming from VODAFONES WAY! I will now complain to the TIO for them selling a contracted item on finance to a NON english speaking elderly gent who has NO technology understanding let alone a grasp of english. Admittedly he signed it, but he was not aware of what he was signing and was not in a position to be able to make a reasonable decision, SHAME ON YOU VODAFONE for ripping off pensioners.

We have 2 phones with 3 for a few years. While reception was bad at most times, since they have merged with 3... the experience gets worse. Calls drop out, my husbands reception drops out (the message received by callers is he is out of coverage, or the phone is off.) Hopeless for business purposes. My husband goes fishing, and he has no reception, while his mate standing next to him has full coverage. Useless in an emergence!

I rely on SMS and voicemail for work purposes. VodaFAIL has let me down too many times. I will now seek to end my contract for all phones in my business. Is this 3G or third world. Totally unaaceptable service.

Ok well long story short, i bought a phone from crazy johns in Joondalup who is covered by VODAFONE which would not work in my area after being told it would. i then took the phone back (distance 100km one way) for a refund i was refused because aparently the store lady (Anne Marie)could not see a technical fault and guaranteed me it worked in my area. she had no interest in what i had to say and was very rude with telling me that i could not have MY MONEY back... It took security to get her card with her name and customer relations number out of her and still then she tried to say she didnt have one... (she must had forgot) yea NOT. im now stuck with a 300 dollar phone and 30 credit that doesnt work, well would have run out now its been months...!!!! id like to thank vodaphone for wasting sooo much credit on multiple calls and all the HELP i DIDNT get...
