Dear visitor,
Since its inception Vodafail.com has made a significant
contribution towards raising awareness of the problems and issues faced
by Vodafone customers.
Vodafone Australia customers have had the opportunity to voice their concerns, their fears and their troubles from every corner of Australia and beyond our borders.
You have gathered the courage to stand up for your rights as consumers and to make your voice heard.
Each and every person who shared their story should have a sense of pride in this achievement and the changes that have occurred since the start of Vodafail.com.
More recently, traffic to Vodafail.com has declined significantly.
Having achieved the goal of raising awareness and promoting concrete action in early 2011, we have now reached the point of closing Vodafail to new complaints.
The site will remain online for as long as possible as a
reminder and an example of what is possible when we share our experiences.
It has been a privilege to run this initiative
and I'm am forever grateful for the help and support I've received. In
particular I would like to thank Melissa, David and Travis for their
continued efforts over the past 15 months. I'm also thankful and humbled by the support of ACCAN, Choice magazine and a wide range of media outlets, blogs and websites.
You can still browse existing stories and find out how to file a complaint if you are experiencing problems.
Until next time,
Adam Brimo

4970 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is To the extreme! at 27 Dec 2010 07:52:01 PM
I have been a Vodafail customer for about 8 years now. I never really had any problems until I purchased am iPhone about 12 months ago. I receive text messages up to 2 days late and have had a voicemail arrive 4 days after it was recorded. Don't get me started on data transfer rates. I work in the CBD where there should be decent coverage and struggle to open emails and attachments. I have often set out to change carriers but it is one of those things you never get around to doing. But if it keeps heading this way i am taking my money and loyalty to a carrier that can provider a reliable service.

27 Dec 2010 08:37:13 PM: the service you get back home in nz is 100 times more efficient, no delayed texting no calls dropping out, over here in australia vodafone is a joke. after being with vodafone in nz you'd think ok, aussie bigger country, better service, how wrong was i. I can't receive mms at all. drives me insane, whoever runs vodafone back home in nz needs to get their butt over here and sort the australians out
4965 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is customer service at 27 Dec 2010 07:50:26 PM
I just can't stand LARA. You may as well not ring at all. I talk so clearly and she still cant work out what I am saying. Then I wait ages to get transferred to a real person and it just drops out. Very infuriating. So I go to a vodafone store and they say sorry we dont deal with this we just sell phones!!
27 Dec 2010 08:06:02 PM: Lara is a condescending, patronising piece of spendthift human interface trash! Why can't we talk to an Australian person!!!
27 Dec 2010 08:09:56 PM: Completely agree. I got transfered many times to different departments and was told to call different numbers and still didn't get my problem answered. So I switched.

4959 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is for a telco co., it super s---s!! at 27 Dec 2010 07:47:47 PM
Not only do they have the poorest reception, they have the worst customer service! I finished my 2-year contract with them in July of this year and I wanted out - due to the poor reception mind you. It took me 3 months (still had to pay for those months even when I was not using their service anymore) and a min of 30 min (each time I called which was 8 times) waiting on the phone for a rep to answer and be transfered to the 'cancellation' dept. only to find out they were all "busy" and would give me a call back..of course they did not bother to call back...so there! Will not touch Voda again even with a ten foot pole!
4958 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Bad! at 27 Dec 2010 07:47:15 PM
My texts dont get sent to me in time i always receive them an hour later, its sometimes hard to connect when calling someone, when people call me it says i am unavailable ! i understand all phone companies have problems but voafone has just been getting worse it is frustrating..a few weeks ago the area i work in had no vodafone reception and it was like this for a few days! no one could call me or text me and i couldnt call or text anyone until i got out of that particular area !

Been in nsw for about 2months now. joined vodafone au since new zealands vodafone is very successfull . never experience a communications company so bad with their service. wanted to buy a iphone through the vodafone shop they asked me to ring customer service to get one WTF. Rang customer service takes about 30mins to connect then when it finally connects no reception. Knowing if the phone discconnects you would think they would have to service to ring you back . Lucky im not on a plan.

2 months after signing up to my new 24 month plan I had to start using my old old nokia (thank god I still had it) and had to buy a pre paid sim card on another network because Vodafone wasn't working. I was so upset that the call centre is now in India because their customer service is shocking and they are unable to relate to the Ausralian consumer. Vodafone to date (for the past 4 months) have not been able to provide me with an answer as to why my phone wont work and I am unable to take it in to get 'repaired' as the Indian operator in India told me I had to take it to a Vodafone store on a week day - yeah thats great considering I work from 10am - 7pm and there is no Vodafone store near me... I asked if Vodafone could organise a curior but I was told that I would be responsibile for the costs of that... not fair! considering I am paying all this money for nothing!!! I am so upset - I have been with Vodafone since 2003 and this is the first time I have had any issues...whats going on?? Should I not pay my next phone bill... I'm still paying the plan even though I cant use my fancy new phone or my sim?

My phone constantly drops out on the M4, M7, M2, F3 & the Hume, not mention various other locations in the middle of Sydney. I receive voicemail messages (from my customers, usually urgent), up to two days after they left the message. I also have to continually redial my voicemail after trying to use the callback feature. Glad my company has decided to move to Optus in Jan. Cya vodafail!!!!!!!!!!!

took 3 years for them to refund an overpaid account (originally $65, which kept reducing by $2 every month even though i was no longer an account holder). if it was the other way around, they would have black-listed my name on the credit register and disconnected my phone (not that it would have made much differene to my service performance)

4918 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Very at 27 Dec 2010 07:39:02 PM
I had already experienced call drop-outs and no reception where other phone users had four bars strong. The icing on the cake for me was when I was talking on my mobile (in the lower north shore of Sydney) with my brother about his recent suicide attempt. It was a difficult discussion made worse by the fact that the call dropped out FOUR times. Thanks for screwing up the lines of communication Vodafone.

My brother fell very ill over the lead up to christmas day so i had been on the phone to my family constantly for updates on his recovery.. in ponit form below..
1) If had been on my mobile for over 15 minutes- it would drop outs- so i would call somone back and it would just have no dial tone for about 20 seconds before it dials..
2) No reception outside my house!! and its on the main street.. where i had ALWAYS had reception in the past.. where as now.. no a F'n Chance!! I have to walk 100 meters down the road to make a call or even recieve a call or SMS!!
3) While on the phone to vodafone customer service- To just ASK if there was anyway i could improve on this.. even to just get a new phone.. I was put on hold for almost 2 hours before somone picked up and then hung up!
4) To complain about above i was put on hold for 30 mins.. i so hung up and called again and demanded to speak to manage.. was put on hold for a futher 25 mibnutes before i hung up again..
5) Wrote an email (From the voda website) to complain about above i STILL havnt had a reply.. I thought i would try my luck again today over the phone and was AGAIN!! put on hold for a another 20 minutes. .
6) As i have only JUST signed up for a "infinate" Plan.. i cannot get out of it.. i dont see vodafone getting back to me.. so i have no choice but to stay .. I could just not pay my bill.. At least i would get some attention.. But then ill end up with a bad credit default.. no win!!
7) My sms's, PXT's- came 2-3 hours late!! one day i did not recieve TXTS for 2 days!!!!! 2 WHOLE days!!!
I have been with vodafone for 9 years!!! and have never experienced HELL in my life..!! after my contract i am NEVER comming back.. such a F'n disgrace!!

This website just made my day....If only I had known there were others out there!
As a health professional, I am required to be on call for work regularly and thanks to the appalling service offered by vodafone, I cannot rely on my phone to log that a call was made to my phone in the first place when I'm on call, let alone, allow me to access the voicemails left on my phone within 48 hours of the message being left.
I have used vodafone for several years now, and the service gets worse every year. The sound of that chirpy 'Lara'character vodafone insists on using to lengthen our calls to the service centre, makes my skin crawl!!!

I thought Optus sucked hard, but Vodafone truly can suck golfballs from a hose. I signed up in Oct and i have had problems with everything from reception to billing. Customer Service with most Telcos is crap, but vodafone have added extra fibre to their diets....flows real easy. I use my phone for work and it has been frustrating not to have coverage to make calls and lose jobs due to late message arrivals. i guess my VODAFONE communication device makes for a pretty good camera and music player because it sure as hell lacks communication skills! Best see the TIO in regards to dropping Voda contract for something more technologically advanced like two cans and a piece of string....SEE YA VODAFAIL!!!

Constant drop outs to the point I am uncontactable for up to an hour until the network decides to connect and withoutas landline or broadband access this is frustrating, especially when I live in the Sydney CBD!

VODAPHONE PULL YOUR FINGER OUT, YOU ARE DOGGING ALL OF AUSTRALIA!!!

Ohhh yes this is a doozy! Although I have experienced drop outs and terrible coverage with my mobile my partner and i stupidly decided to take the risk and sign up with their mobile broadband BIG MISTAKE! We live very close to Sydney's CBD so there is no excuse for this not to work right? WRONG! To make matters worse I spent numerous attempts calling to be left on the phone for 40 - 60 mins before the line dropped out and then got the run around by apparent customer service reps. I finally made a trip into the store only to be told that they couldnt help and had to again speak to someone on the phone for an hour and even had to fax a copy of our contract (which after numerous arguements about making us pay, which of course i wasnt because it wasnt even working!) they finally told me it was all sorted once I posted the contents back (I dont know why I couldnt leave it at the store where I picked it up from???). My next 3 bills STILL arrived with the contract charges on there! what a joke! VODAFONE is a terrible unprofessional company and im so glad to hear that someone is finally doing something about it!

I have been with vodafail for 10+ years like a beaten housewife they told me it would get better with time. I am with three (3) and ever since they joined with Vodafone, I have been receiving text messages 2 - 3 hours and sometimes days late. My reception is weak, picture messages do not arrive roaming does not exist...unbelievably pathetic. My contract still has 6 months, but I am not coming back for any more of this punishment.
4861 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Absolutely Shocking at 27 Dec 2010 07:26:51 PM
Deparately trying to get out og my contract. Had nearly a year of dropsout, poor reception. So unreliable, I use my landline now, as not sure if phone will work. Thought it was the phone, got it looked at twice - no phone problem. Also have to carry a Telstra Pre-paid phone as well. Talk about a bunch of crooks. Living in Rhodes.

Vodafail are responsible for our upcoming ashes defeat. If they had more integrity and respect for their customers then our Aussie cricket team wouldn't be in this bind. Their bad kharma is infectious I tell you. I hope this court case teaches them not to fuck with our great game of cricket. Only time will tell I guess.

Every morning and evening I travel through Circular Quay in Sydney. Full reception on iPhone and iPad - but no data flowing through. This has been going on for weeks now. Also, last week before XMAS all of a sudden the same happened in Manly NSW 2095 ... I have a hard time believing it's a software update! Get your capacity planning right ...
4852 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is a joke at 27 Dec 2010 07:25:35 PM
I bought a vodafail $2 sim and tried activating it at home (metro sydney) via the handset as I needed to port my other number across and it requires speaking to a customer care officer at the end of the activation.
Would you believe the line cut out during activation. I tried three times and all were unsuccessful, eventually I had to use a landline to call them and continue the process.
Hmmm not happy with vodafail.

I'm a senior manager from one of Vodafones biggest corporate customers and we can't get reception at our largest manufacturing site in country Vic. It's truly laughable. I tried contacting my PA on her mobile on my way to a function on the 23rd for 25 minutes and couldn't get through. I had to turn around and go home as I had no idea where I was supposed to be and as the sole company representative at a supplier function it made me appear unprofessional. I'm going to pressure our services team to attempt to break our corporate contract with Vodafone as soon as we're back from Christmas leave. The terms of a telecommunications contract are quite straightforward. I'm confident that Vodafone are in violation of that contract.

No reception at home other than two places where I get one bar of reception, visitors on other networks have no reception issues. Calls often take forever to connect or won't connect at all, even if I have good reception. Calls drop out regularly. Voicemails come through days after they've been left on my phone.
4831 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Like a gangrenous limb at 27 Dec 2010 07:22:32 PM
Like everyone else my complaints are the perfunctory, condescending & unhelpful customer service [when you can actually get through to a real human being] & the extremely poor network reception & drops outs in a major population area of Western Sydney. They are clearly not fulfilling their side of the SFOA [Standard Form of Agreement] - i.e the contract. If I had known how bad they are I would never have signed up - be warned all those who are considering them. They are terrible! Even the staff in the retail stores are not very helpful.
4830 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is No Reception at 27 Dec 2010 07:22:16 PM
Using Vodafone's network, I am frequently without reception and frequency experience 'drop-outs' in Sydney's CBD (e.g. Martin Place), the inner west (e.g. Balmain, Leichhardt) and in Sydney's south (e.g. Cronulla, Caringbah). I have been paying in excess of $120 a month for a service which fails to meet a consistent level of quality. I have logged complaints but, nothing has improved.
4829 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Pathetic at 27 Dec 2010 07:22:16 PM
I run my own business, have constant drop outs, call failures, text messages that take 3 days to arrive, and voice messages that can take up to 36 hours to come through to my phone. No one at Vodaphone would confirm there was a problem, and even the dealer said that things will get better - over 12 months ago - if anything they got worse and when I was complaining to him about it the call dropped out yet again. I was trying to access the internet last night and it took 8 minutes to download a page, my friend next to me took 18 seconds - he's with Telstra - Goodbye Voda - I'm off to Telstra and taking my friends with me.
27 Dec 2010 07:24:03 PM: I agree, I have problems receiving voicemail messages as well. In the past, it has taken over 36hrs to receive a voicemail message from one of my superiors at work. Needless to say, he was not impressed with me or my story.
4825 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is POOR at 27 Dec 2010 07:21:41 PM
My Blackberry sits in SOS 90% of the time in suburbia, where other networks have full coverage. Ive been with vodafone for 6 years, but this past year has been hell! Dropped calls, no reception, missing important client calls, missing important family calls, calls going through to voicemail without the phone ringing. Intermittently dropping calls midway then sitting in SOS until I remove the battery pack. Im absolutely P****d off. Im glad I know now, every vodafone customer is having a hell of a time. Some sort of compensation is required. I will definitely be switching carriers as soon as my contract ends.

I purchased an LG KM900 vodafail branded phone a couple years ago on their $49 plan and in the suburb I live in, (Marrickville), I could not get any reception.
I had to ring their customer care number on my parents landline and all I was told (by their OS staff in India) was to reset the phone and voila you will now have signal.
I replied no its still the same and the indian dude tells me to make my calls from ouside the house as reception in "buildings" is not guaranteed. I said maybe you would care to come here and step outside to sort this abomination out.
In frustration I called their customer care number again the next day and got a local. I advised them of the problem and that I wished to rescind the contract due to no reception.
Surprising they were ok with this and I simply had to payout the handset if I wished to retain it but the contract was cancelled as it should be.
I then switched to 3 as a mate of mine lent me his sim card to test and reception in my area was perfect with this carrier. So far I have been with 3 but since the merger with vodafail so far reception has been fine, should it change in the future then Optus will be my next choice.
Good luck with the website and class action, its much needed.

-never any reception
-calls constantly drop out
-attempt to make calls = call failed/straight to message bank (lets hope im not ever in a compromising situation where i need to dial emergency because i'm sure id be long dead before actual connection)
-text messages delayed... sometimes by up to 12 hours
-internet coverage = inconsistent, rarely works
-when you're feeling frustrated and annoyed you try and vent some of this frustration with customer care, lara is never very helpful and neither are the impatient foreigners who i can never understand with those heavy accents. Call is often redirected 5 or 6 times before you actually express your frustration to the right person (by then your blood is boiling and youve told your story so many times youre considering recording yourself so you can just press play incase they decide to redirect your call AGAIN)
-telstra is looking very good right now

We live in an area in NSW where, if you are on the Optus or Telstra network, you have excellent mobile phone coverage. However, if you are on the Vodafone network you get one bar at the best of times.
My phone can be on the lounge next to me, not ring because there is not enough coverage but I will then get a message saying I have a voicemail message. WTF?!!
If I want to be able to hear the person on the other end of the line and not have the phone call cut out I have to go outside.
Vodafone: you are the worst network ever! Another customer lost!
Don't try calling Vodafone to complain... unless you have a day to waste and you speak another language.

All of a sudden, I was at home about 2 months ago, my phone was down to 1 or 2 cells. Not too sure if its Vodafone only as I am having issues with my BOB iiNet wireless as well - keeps cutting in and out. My postcode is 2093. My other pain about Vodafone is that I keep getting an old tenant's mobile bills in the mail. Its hard to contact a real person @ Vodafone (Lara is not included as a real person believe it or not)to get this changed however after about 30-45 min wait, I got the call centre in India and tried to explain the situation. I thought I got the message across then I received the same monthly bills - no change. Could I be bothered to call again? I think not! Maybe they want no resolution??

I run my own service business and my company plan is with vodafone. over the last 12 months, i have continuously been recieving my voicemail messages up to 3 days late and always had customers thinking that i have just been making up excuses. firstly the line will cut out and not even connect, calls will go straight to voicemail and i wouldnt get the messages for days. I lost so much business over the last 12 months due to such poor service from vodafone. this website has made me realise that the customer take further steps. I pay over $500/month in bills. I deserve better

Without fail when I am taking an important phone call, or any phone call for that matter, reception cuts in and out and I lose the call which is more frustrating when its from a private number and I cant call them back, I have rung vodafone and never talk to a competent english speaking person, and all they say is they need proof of me not getting reception in that area and they will get it upgraded. But it isnt just one area, is 75% of places that I go or visit, even my own house, i get limited or no reception. Fcuking useless bastards.

I have been with Vodafone for approx. 5 years. before that I switched from Telstra to Optus but they were both horrible ... the Vodafone store people were really friendly and said that the service would improve as major work was being done in my area, over the past 5 years reception hasn't improved in my area ... in fact i think it has gotten worse! It used to take me 5-10 min on hold ... the other day after buying a new phone after my iphone was stolen when someone broke into my house (and my car) I reported it stolen. They were quick to lock down my phone but when it came to reactivating my new sim and new phone I was on hold for nearly 2 hours and even then I had to call again due to a call drop out on their end... and again to unblock incoming calls.
till an hour ago I thought it was only me. On top of that I purchased a new phone to replace the "new" iphone.
I never thought I'd say this but I think im going to switch to Telstra ... they seem to be stepping up in the deals ... f**k i got approx. 20 months left till i can switch!

4735 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is poor service and coverage at 27 Dec 2010 07:03:54 PM
I have recently signed up to Vodafone (regretfully). I was informed that they have great coverage by a reprsentative of the provider. My phone is used for a combination of work and personal circumstances. I called Vodafone shortly after signing up as I was having continuing issues with the phone dropping out and needing to make multiple calls to have 1 conversation. I called them on 9.11.10 to voice my concerns and was placed on a customer service line for 1 hour before I decided to hang up and send them an email. I then had to endure a pop up reminding me of their remarkable coverage prior to finally sending the email reminding them that I had concerns that the statements made regarding their 92% coverage in their pop up did not seem correct to me. I received an email apparently identfying the status of this issue as "solved" and providing me with a number to call. I persevered with the issue and called again (hold it - that is 4 call attemts in one sitting - 1 dropping out whilst on the line to them) to the customer service line to again voice my concerns. I have been told to try someone elses phone or change sims to make sure it is not a phone problem as apparently my issue is not a service orientated one. They made no attempts to assist me in addressing this. I informed them I have been with 3 other providers and have never had this issue. Whilst they were informing me it was not likely to be a service issue as it did not happen consistently, I informed them that this happened regularly (as I travel a lot) and there are definite spots where it drops out suggesting it may be a coverage issue. I also informed them that I use my phone for work and require it as a security measure as I am often in my client's home assessing them for medicolegal cases and as such need a reliable phone in the instance that I may encounter aggression and need to call for assistance. I advised of my concerns that I can not rely on my phone for this. It is embarrassing when I am speaking with key stakeholders and clients that my phone drops out. The service I have been provided with is less than satisfactory. I advised them during my last conversation to not even bother sending me the bill and they may wish to check how many calls I make during 1 transaction. I have received my bill and assume that they have not checked my bill. They also told me ther were no service issues with my area - I advised them I bought the phone in the local area and was advised of the exemplary coverage. I advised them that this considered that should the issue be demonstrated to be coverage I would not be happy. I cant beleive I am locked in for 2 years - I am worried about what it will do with my business and what should happen if I need to alert someone of a safety issue for me or a client. The service is a joke. If it were a shop, I wouldn't have gone back after the first time. Their statements of service do not equate to what they can provide. Thank you for this page, goodness knows it was needed

Obviously all of us must live in those parts of Australia where there is no coverage by Vodafu*k. At www.vodafone.com.au/help, they boast Vodaf*ck covers 94.52% of Australia. Wonder if that gutless organisation called the ACCC would investigate this obvious LIE. Of course they wont. I suppose we 5.48% of the population are supposed to grin and bear the fraudulent activities by Vodaf*ck. Thanks for letting me the oppurtunities to express my frustations regarding phone standard, customer service and other services of VF. I'm on $ 79 caps for one and half years. I started with BlackBerry Bold 9500 and the phone cap was just a crap. The worst so called touch/smart phone I have ever had! After using few weeks, I could understand I'm just wasting my money. Touch screen was unsensitive, internet browsing was sooo sloooow, media player and camera photo quality were just far below the standard. I bought it from Crazy Johns. The customer service of VF couldn't help me at all. After few months, I couldn't tried to change the phone, and customer service guy replied (after more than half an hour waiting time!) me it would cost me ...$ (the total price of a new phone!) Well, after few more months sufferings, I fortunately lost my phone. Lucky, I had my mobile insurance, I got a iphone 3 with the excess fees of 225 bucks! But call dropping, networks, internet browsing didn't improve that much. So I could realize, the problems are not in phones only, but networks and customer service also. Anyway, it's quite unnecessary to pay for mobile insurance. So I had to cancel the insurance. Recently, I paid all the money including excess fees, but the system said after a week, still it owes me money! I called customer service to know what's going on, otherwise they gonna charge me extra money for late fees! Literary, after 47 minutes of waiting period, I could talk to the customer service guy for few minutes. The worst customer service I have ever had. How much time do you have guys to talk to a customer service in Australia? Simply, I can't afford that time! Call drop out, poor networks, slow browsing and few more things are part and parcel of my phone caps. I'm just waiting to finish my cap period so that I can roll over. Thanks guys for your patience to read my pains.

I have been a loyal Vodafone customer for over 10 yrs, despite the crappy service and reception, yet all my loyalty has been rewarded with was a rugby ball and a 3 month magazine subscription. The ONLY reason I haven't switched providers is I don't like being locked into a contract, and prepaid is not for me. (I am on the old plan entitled 'No Plans').
It's become common knowledge that 'if there's a cloud in the sky - I'll have no reception'. Not good enough, especially now I need a mobile for my business. I can see myself switching soon.

Voicemails take ages to get through, 3g is just unusable most of the time - in Sydney metro! What a waste of money. I use my wife's Telstra 3g iphone instead and pages load no problem, much as I dislike Telstra I cannot wait to ditch this rubbish Vodafone contract for a service I don't receive. They should be held liable for this, who else could get away with failing to provide the service they so merrily charge for?

I am deaf Vodafone mobile user, I am greatly disappointed with your slow service in answering my request It took time to get your reply about a hour even same happening at the Rouse Hill shop. You failed to forewarned me over expired date of my prepaid as the contract was signed on March 2008, but you kept sending same invoice till last November I asked for refund about six month, but at the shop i was explained that you refused to refund, instead of giving me about 300 free calls, I was not satified with this offer. The service was very poor. You gave several passwords to register and connect my mobile. They failed again. I have lost faith in Vodafone and I think I would switch to other Mobile company. I can't understand why Readers Digest chose Vodafone on the top list of mobiles. my mobile number 0404 124 418.
In addition, their computer is pretty difficult to find for this reason I cannot use phone Vodafone, because I am deaf, I tried National Relay Service but call took a hour. I would be rather afraid if I call; in waiting for long time. Your service is a real frustration.

Just logged in to My Voda on the website and can't even view my bill history...how is that anything to do with 'network issues?' Anyone had any luck getting out of their contract minus the exit fee? My contract ran out 12 or so months ago & I was contacted by Vodafail to renew, enticed by the iPhone. I was told that a $69 cap should cover my needs & at first it did. Then suddenly after a couple of months with the same usage my bill sky rocketed unexplainably. I enquired & was given a spiel but my query was never really answered. In fact every time I rang I was put on hold for great lengths of time & then told the same spiel. Soon after my coverage was affected for no apparent reason & even though the bill was being addressed, the service was restricted to incoming calls & then cut off completely. Then I was charged $800 for the cancellation of the service. It took Vodafail 2-3weeks to send me an itemised bill justifying their actions after asking on several occasions for this. I was then contacted by a debt collection agency about the matter. After paying the debt collection agency and them confirming the payment, I contacted Vodafail 3 weeks later to ensure that they had in turn received the payment. First I was put on hold for over 45 mins without having spoken to an actual person & transferred to 4 different irrelevant departments. I hung up as I was at work & my charge was about to run out. Two hours later I tried again & was on hold for a further 25 mins. Eventually I spoke to a man of Indian origin who was extremely rude & who hung up on me without even beginning to answer my query. I then went to a Vodafail store to speak to someone face to face & to possibly get my old number back. I was told it would take too long & would be easier if I switched servers to Optus & in MY time I could possibly get the number back after 2 hours online. My payment was never confirmed & I was sent on my way. The coverage & customer service leaves alot to be desired.

I know we are not supposed to talk or mention Vodafone staff but let's hope when all these lies are exposed eventually, a full list of all the senior management team (from CFO down to say business development managers and sales managers) is to go public to ensure these liars never to be employed again in the telecommunication industry!
Like most horror stories here, they lied repeatedly to old customers and lured unsuspecting new customers in; so, this vicious cycle of customers churning keep them in business. The latest honey pot is the Infinite plan where there will be more unsuspecting new customers being lured in to replace all the old disgruntled customers who are leaving!

Where do I begin also........Like the bad reception....the non existing internet.........the message that was repeated and was sent 50 times when only the one was to be sent AND got charged for it!!!..........The voicemails that take three days to get through due to the lack of reception to receive the call in the first place and not to mention the frustration if I or any of the Vodafone customers were to be in an emergency situation and cannot rely on the service to make a call. Not happy with a lot of things......Im glad someone made this site to Possibly rectify the issues. THEY NEED TO BE FIXED WITH NO EXCUSES AND FIXED NOW......OR LET US BREAK OUR CONTRACTS!!!!!!!

3G wireless broadband plan, i want out... but I can't walk into any store with my sim and just cancel the plan in-store they "only do sales"
instead i have to ring a certain number and provide information from the set-up 2 years ago... which i don't remember.

Im sick of all of the drop outs that eat into your monthly prepaid. I went from a plan to a prepaid option because of it in the first place. I'm also sick of the lack of coverage in some areas of metropolitan Sydney. The Vodafone coverage is absolutely ridiculous through out all Australian states. Its a system that belongs in the 90's not 2010/11.

I have one of those awesome smart phones which had the selling point of internet! Too bad it takes too long to connect a phone on another carrier seems to actually get better coverage in the same room

3 Mobile Broadband customer here - internet usually slow, some days non-existent for hours on end, dropouts. Been the case since before Vodafone acquisition and things don't seem any better now.

Little to no coverage at Kellyville Ridge. Trying to complain is harder than trying to lick your own elbow. i.e. IMPOSSIBLE

Having lost a phone I got a new one through Vodafone and supposedly placed on the new 75 dollar cap.
In November I received my bill for October. I owe over $700.
This is on top of the 900 free section.
When I looked at it I had been charged for phone calls which supposedly where free as they were with 3.
When I questioned it they said I was on the old plan.
I did eventually argue my case and they credited me $640.00.
However on the next bill, no credit and a 140 debt.
This is on top of the fact that my calls keep failing even though there is plenty of reception and messages taking up to two days to come through.

My issue with vodafone is that i have been trying to recharge my prepaid plan for the past 2 weeks. I have tried doing it online but i was unsuccessful and was advised to contact vodafone to resolve the issue. First time trying to contact them I was put on hold for 4 hours and still didn't speak to any representative.
So the next day I called again and after 40 min i ended up speaking to a representative and was informed that they still couldn't resolve the issues and was told to call back the next day to check if the issue had been resolved.
The following day i contacted vodafone again and this time was told that the systems are down and for me to call back the next day.
Next day i call them and was still informed that the system are back up however they could not figure out why the recharge was not going through.
Now i have been with out credit for a total of 2 weeks. I am sick of this and now with tossing up going with optus or telstra

We have very little or no coverage at our home now, where we also have our vet clinic, which has 24 hour emergency care for our clients. Due to the fact that clients weren't able to get us, thanks to Vodafone, some animals had delayed medical help because of the lack of coverage of Vodafone. We had to buy Telstra phones for our Vets, more money we can't afford. Vodafone will only let us out of our plan if we pay over $5000, which we can't possibly do, even though they aren't providing us the promised service. Can't wait till we can leave them but that isn't till September 2011, help me! They seem to have got worse, originally they weren't to bad
4635 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is very poor reception at 27 Dec 2010 06:42:41 PM
I have had a poor reception issue on and off but is has been worse last few months. Initially I thought it is due to my old mobile phone which I got from the contract with Vodafone. I had a new mobile phone a week ago and the reception is even worse.

A couple of years ago I bought a prepaid service through their store in the Pitt St Mall, bought a couple of phones off them, experienced the same thing you guys are - paltry coveage, dropped calls, sending picture messages wasn't that easy. In the end I found out that the phone I had purchased wasn't compatible with Vodafone Live and boy did I serve it up to them .. they were very rude, uncompromising and uncaring ..
4630 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is terrible terrible service at 27 Dec 2010 06:41:11 PM
