26 Mar 2012 - Update Highest Rated Pain Stories Highest Rated Gain Stories Vodafail Local Facebook Page
Dear visitor,

Since its inception Vodafail.com has made a significant contribution towards raising awareness of the problems and issues faced by Vodafone customers.

Vodafone Australia customers have had the opportunity to voice their concerns, their fears and their troubles from every corner of Australia and beyond our borders. You have gathered the courage to stand up for your rights as consumers and to make your voice heard.

Each and every person who shared their story should have a sense of pride in this achievement and the changes that have occurred since the start of Vodafail.com.

More recently, traffic to Vodafail.com has declined significantly. Having achieved the goal of raising awareness and promoting concrete action in early 2011, we have now reached the point of closing Vodafail to new complaints. The site will remain online for as long as possible as a reminder and an example of what is possible when we share our experiences.

It has been a privilege to run this initiative and I'm am forever grateful for the help and support I've received. In particular I would like to thank Melissa, David and Travis for their continued efforts over the past 15 months. I'm also thankful and humbled by the support of ACCAN, Choice magazine and a wide range of media outlets, blogs and websites.

You can still browse existing stories and find out how to file a complaint if you are experiencing problems.

Until next time,

Adam Brimo

tried to pay a utilities bill online using vodafail mobile broadband. of course it took 4 minutes to load westpac.com.au. Another 5 minutes to sign in. Over ten minutes to load up "my account" screen, then it timed out and had to sign back in (10 minutes). in all it took 40 minutes to pay a bill. no other programs/updates running, and located in the middle of melbourne. it should take 2 or 3 minutes max. it's always like this. WTF

I want to see my data usage during the month and not just on the bill at the end of the month, when it is too late to juggle my online activities. Now that I have 2 pcs to update regularly, I can't see the total data usage on either pc or online. If there is a way, Vodafone should make it clear instead of hiding it somewhere where I haven't been able to find it.
23 Aug 2011 10:38:01 AM: you're supposed to be able to log into www.myvodafone.com.au with the mobile number of your mobile broadband service, so far I've only been able to do this once. The password reminder SMS system doesn't work, their mumbai-based customer service department has on several occasions done a password reset, but have never received any SMS.

Their system is totally ratshit.

Furthermore, they should send a warning SMS to alert you whether you're getting close to exceeding your usage, BEFORE charging you excess $ for Mb. Telstra does on their mobile broadband plans, as I found out when using a mate's Telstra Ultimate service - txt message appeared on the screen saying you have 200Mb left before you are exceeding the 4Gb plan. That's pretty cool. Suppose if Vodafone did that, they wouldn't make any money out of the suckers they rip-off with excess data charges

Ok i live in Truganina. The network is crap as i never expected. No matter what mobile set i use i do not get proper network in my home and the calls drop.
Secondly i have been sending sms to my friend for the last few days and she do not receive my messages. And guess what even i don't receive sms from her. It used to be fine before but these days i feel like i bought a pain in the ass for me by signing with vodaphone.
18 Aug 2011 03:17:41 PM: I am getting the SMS thing too.
Complained, and they said they would check.
Called back as problem not resolved, and they said "but they checked it and said it's resolved."
Nobody called me to check if the problem was resolved.

19155 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Frustrating wasting time at 16 Aug 2011 07:31:01 AM
As usual, very poor network coverage in northern victoria. Complaints many times and wasting at least one hour for each call but no problem. I told them to terminate my contract but they suggested I transfer my account to Three which has better network coverage. But still, I am wasting many hours just to transfer the account to three. Even yesterday afternoon, vodafone customer care can't contact me due to bad network coverage and sent sms instead. Now they have retaining department who always try to persuade frustrated customers not to terminate the contracts. feeling sick with this provider. WTF

I use Vodafone prepaid broadband and for 2 weeks my connection has constantly dropped out even when my coverage is supposedly excellent, load times are so slow that they time out, some sites such as youtube or facebook will not load at all and some sites load their coverpage but go no further than that! I haven't contacted customer service, but I'm interested to know if it would be worthwhile?

11 months ago, I got a phone bill from Vodafone saying I signed up 2 phones from them, told them I've never been their customer and when I called the 2 numbers listed on the bill, they were different persons and unaware of how I'm getting their bills in my name and addresss! Vodafone said they would fix the problem. And after 11 months since that incident I got a letter from NRG telling me I owe Vodafone $4,310.83 and if I don't pay this account in full, may result in further action, which looked more like a threat and bully letter. Vodafone not only failed to fix the problem, they passed on my personal details to a third party without my knowledge! I'm wasting my enery, time and money calling them and it's just too stressful. If Vodafone was an orange, I'd just smash it with a hammer 100 times!!! It's so frustrating!!!

Just got a bill from Vodafone for over $500 of excess internet usage - seems to be every bit of internet usage I have, which is funny as I have a 3GB allowance, and a service that is so useless that I am lucky to be able to get any connection to websites. 19105 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is unfathomably repugnant at 9 Aug 2011 06:16:37 PM
I legally attempted to unlock my Nokia phone through the vodafone website, costing me $25, and I was provided a bullsh*t unlock code. I entered the code thrice, only to have it permanently block my phone. When I called vodafone they reiterated that the unlock code provided was correct and that the issue would need to be passed to the "unlocking difficulties" guy. They also told me the issue should be resolved in 3 - 4 days. I was sent an email from this guy on July 1, 2011, saying:

Hi,

Thank you for your query regarding IMEI ---------------. We are currently checking your unlocking code. You will receive a reply from us once the code has been verified with the handset manufacturer.

We trust this has addressed your query.

Kind Regards,
Manoj

...on July 9, 2011, I sent an email back saying:

Hi,

Could you please update me on the progress of getting my phone unlocked?
I'm overseas until the end of July and would really like this sorted out soon.

Thank you.

Kind Regards,
Patrick -------

...I received no response. On July 23, 2011, I sent another email saying:

Hello,

Could you PLEASE update me on the progress of my phone unlock!
I was told this was going to take four days. It has been almost a month now. What is going on?
I would also appreciate if you replied to my emails instead of ignoring them.

Thank You.

Kind Regards,
Patrick -------

...still no response. I then sent another email on August 1, 2011, saying:

Okay... So it has been a month now and this is my third email (the other two seem to have been ignored).
WHAT IS THE STATE OF MY PHONE UNLOCK???!!!
IMEI ---------------

Kind Regards,
Patrick -------

...no response. It is now August 9, 2011, and I've heard nothing. I am going to call them. The only reason I had been emailing was because I was in Malaysia. The whole purpose of buying the Nokia phone was to use in Malaysia. Total waste of money. The point of this rant is: if you need any indication on how lacklustre vodafone's approach to email is, the evidence is above. Wankers!

Billed $1700 for excess data download eg 3.7gb in 7 hours No idea what download was. Vodafone will not, despite my express consent, inform me what download was or where it came from. No previous history of excess downloads. Suspect phone or billing fault would welcome advice on how to proceed.
7 Aug 2011 09:13:20 AM: you have tried resolving it by contacting Vodafone, so the next step is the TIO - take 5 minutes to fill out this form and someone must call you within 10 days.

http://www.tio.com.au/ComplaintForm/ComplaintFormS1.asp
7 Aug 2011 10:37:19 AM: Thanks . I will follow that advice. I have documented all contact with vodafone but I am amazed that vodafone will not disclose what download was or where it came from.
12 Aug 2011 07:25:31 AM: My mum just had the same thing happen last night! They told her she downloaded movies! She wouldn't know how the he'll to download a movie on her iPhone! Doesn't even know what YouTube is! And what's more suspect, it happened at 2.15am.. Vodafail!
13 Aug 2011 08:18:30 PM: i had the same issue for $1200 worth of data i never used,i went on the voda face book site and got more help then when i tried there customer "care", i got a email back saying they will reduce the bill to $40 which i agreed to as i didnt want the hassle of going to TIO, but i would have if they tried to make me pay in full.
2 Sep 2011 12:32:40 AM: Resolution. Vodaphone dropped all charges. But there is a good ending.
They have now credited me $1700 in addition to withdrawing the original $1700.after being misled for weeks by representatives of this hopelessly compromised organization registering a complaint with the TIO resulted in immediate resolution in my favour. Vodafone had claimed that my phone had used more data in 7 hours(whilst I was asleep) than our two phones had used in the previous 12 months. When I am at home I connect to optus cable via wi-fi. I believe that vodafone is involved in deceptive condult Well done TIo

19081 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Extremely bad at 6 Aug 2011 05:39:15 PM
I have managed to break free of my contract with Vodafone. I had two phones attached to the accounts, I agreed to keep old 3GS and return the iPhone4. I had paid the last bill and also paid the remaining cost of the 3GS. The cost of the iphone4 was added onto my bill until I returned it via their reply paid postal bag. This had been done and instead of the account going to zero, it has gone from $1200 to now $289. This was not expected. I contacted Vodafone this week (Tuesday) and was told that my account was zero and that I owed no money. The person could not explain why the account was zero and why I was getting bills. I have since today opened a letter from their collections department and I find that I owe even more money. I ring back today and I get told that I did owe money but they cannot explain why. I have to ring their collections department on Monday. This is very frustrating, I'm so glad I have left them. So much for 2/47 bill account assistance. Their organisation needs an overhaul as its clear their systems are not effective enough to conduct business.

19056 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is rubbish!! at 4 Aug 2011 12:33:48 AM
Used to be with ThreeMobile for many years ... then after many network issues was transferred to Vodacrud, which they insisted was a 'far superior network'. Instantly noticed that Vodarubbish was far worse than Three.

While in Melbourne CBD I did have good signal .. BUT .. this didn't mean that I had good service. The internet data was soooooooooooooo slow. Webpages constantly timeout, cant access email etc. Their data backhauls must have been very congested -- what contention ratio are you running voda??

Call quality was like talking to a robot, providing that you could actually make a successful call. Another annoying thing was that I would get missed calls, even though it never rang. Tested this many times calling between 2 phones. Can't get a spare line eh?

If your looking for a new provider, take advice from everyone here ... don't be fooled by their pricing/marketing ... there is a reason why their network is so congested, and they will attempt to lock you in for 24months so that you get plenty of time fully experience the pain.

I'm glad to see that I was not the only one with phone issues. The tech support were always so confident that the service was working fine, and that 'my phone needed servicing'. What on earth needs to be serviced? Oil change, top up the fluids, check the spark plugs??!! These things are not serviceable, and any firmware/settings can be done from itunes or pushed from the network.

How on earth can they run a company like this? Why don't the industry regulators step in and put a STOP to all this? I think 24month contracts are a bad idea, and reflect a companies lack of confidence in their product (by locking you in). If you have a good product, your customers will stay! Alternatively, if your product is a Vodafail, then they will leave one way or another.

Since exiting the contract (big thanks Mr TIO), I have been on pre-paid with another provider. I only pay for what I use, if i need more then I recharge, else the money stays in my pocket. Best of all, no excess charges, no contract, can leave anytime!

For anyone in country areas contemplating signing up with Vodafone "DON'T DO IT"
(refer 18756)you would be better of with 2 cans and a length of string.I have recently been released from 2yr contract 6 weeks in after lengthy conversations and multiple excuses from vodafone customer service supervisor.
For those of you sick of your service simply ask vodafone customer service what their interpretation of MOBILE COMMUNICATIONS is, because its surely not the same as their customers who buy mobile phones to use primarily as a contact tool.
So then when you get the usual act dumb reaction from the CS rep let them know that you now intend to use your PHONE-JAMMER, when they ask what that is, tell them: Its where you take the phone back to the Vodafone store and JAM it up someones arse!. (I'm sure I heard the VF CS rep giggling in the background) Anyhow stay with or join Telstra for hassle free phone coms its worth that little bit extra (especially for emergencies) as we are all finding out...

Received an automated resolution for something that is totally unrelated and saying that case resolved.
How far can they go to turn away any remaining customers

19011 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is txt messages 3 days late. no coverage. $500 excess internet charges on mobile. Very poor coverage in my area. etc.. etc.. at 1 Aug 2011 12:53:03 PM
Vodafone are charging me for 1300 calls - on a $45 'infinite' plan, plus calls to retrieve my own voicemails, and to 3 customer care. On top of this, my 1gb of mobile broadband is 3 times slower - when I even get reception - than dial up internet. I had to download onto my phone because the internet on the computer was not working at all - then I get a txt saying I owe them $497 in excess usage charges !!!! I spend an hour or so on the phone every week trying to get help from them - being constantly told to go online to see the fine print of my phone contract, then I will understand all the charges - but I can't get into my account due to the online internet being completely unreliable !!!!!!!!!!!! AAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH. Was with 3 for over 12 years prior to this - without one problem. I want out of this contract.

I signed up in Feb of this year with IPHONE 4 on that $49 unlimited deal. I had the phone for a couple of months before I started cracking the shits due to poor coverage I called up and spent hours on hold to finally speak to someone. They ran test and everything and couple of weeks later I had to call back because they said they would call me but they didn't. So when I called them they offerred me everything 3 months for free, Discounts on my bills. I said to VODAFONE that, That was a nice thing but there is no point with the poor coverage. In the end they said they would send out a recovery bag for My Iphone 4 to send it back and they would cancel the contract free of charge. It has now been 6 months and I have not received my recovery bag and I have rang up a couple of times to get it.
Yet still have not received it every time I have tried to call in the last month or two I spend ages on hold and then get disconnected but now when I ring I get DUE TO HIGH NUMBER OF CALLS WE CANNOT TAKE YOUR CALL AT THE MOMENT! What is that crap about?
They have sent me a disconnection bill of over $1000 and I cannot get a hold of this pathetic company! I think I will take this up with the TIO!

3 weeks into 24 month 50 dollar cap handset proves faulty. Vodafone verifies in store that it is indeed faulty. (so has HTC who advised me to contact them after trouble shooting had failed). Vodafone's response is repair must be attempted 3 times before new handset issued. Further, I should't complain anyway as most of the other features worked. Very rude as well. This is first contact with Vodafone and will be last. Family has been with 3 mobile-several contracts & satified- but will leave when expired.
10 Aug 2011 04:19:23 PM: 3 weeks is less than 28 days, hence should be an immediate swap if the fault wasn't caused by you. I.e. you dropped it. Call up vodafone customer care, explain this to them and if they won't replace it then you definitely should make a complaint with the TIO. Source: Previous VF employee.

I got charged for excess data usage where i have only been accessing the usual websites like previous months. I stayed well below the data limit over the past 2 years. Couple of days in this billing cycle I was charged with massive data usage. I called the customer service and all the response they can give is "it's your fault. You deal with it". This is the last nail in the coffin for me as I put up with the network for the past few months where I can not even get coverage in the Melbourne CBD and have to walk like a mad man holding up the phone. Very good example of how not to treat your customers.

My daughter's iPhone on a $29 cap plan clocked up $5 "roaming" internet charges last month. Roaming is being displayed even at home in the heart of the south eastern suburbs of Melbourne. The idea of paying for roaming due to Vodafone network dropouts in such an area is a bit rich! Roaming is fair enough in remote areas but not in metro areas that should have full service!

I called up Vodafone saying that I get reception issues and frequent drop outs when I am driving or at a shopping center.
They say that THEY CAN'T GUARANTEE SERVICE WHEN I AM MOVING ON MOTORWAYS AND BUSES AND TRAINS..... On top of it they say that my iPhone 3Gs is a problem and I should use a Nokia. I asked if the iPhone was a problem and I had to buy a Nokia then why did they sell an iPhone and they said that we just sell what the customers ask for... They are so god damn stupid ... What do I do...
29 Jul 2011 06:57:08 PM: Don't get a Nokia! Especially an N8. I got one from vodafone at the start of the year and had nothing but reception problems.. not to mention freezing and battery life the Nokia phone gave me. I have 2 mobiles on a cap plan with Vodafone, the consistancy of coverage is terrible and has definately lost me business and affected my relationships with customers and business colleagues. Despite the coverage shown on the Vodafone website as adequate, it has been showing the message " no network availble" more and more. Yesterday, I was trying to talk to a customer and the line dropped out 5 times, I been constantly apologising for this useless service. I am fed up of wasting time contacting Vodafone, the response is obviously from an overseas call centre and I can be waiting from 10 mins to 40mins with several re-dials as the service drops out. When you talk to the person they are polite and seemingly helpful, some have excellent English some do not, they cannot do much to solve my issues except offer a partial credit on the bill and fill in a complaint form an tell you to hope the service improves. What I need is a working relaible service.
I stupidly moved from 3 to Vodaphone for similar issues only to realise later that they are one and the same incompetant mob, who charge money to people for services they cannot deliver.

Worst thing i have had with vodafone is waiting on a call. but again with vrigin they don't compare. i have phone and broadband with vodafone. and i have had mobile with them for more than 10 years now. internet only in the last 12 months. when i first got onto the phone i couldnt make a call inside the house, and outside i had to pick my standing point to make sure the call didn't drop out. today it's light years away from those sad days.. with my phone i am connected to the 850 network. and if this is fast i must say it's the same speed as always, i haven't noticed any improvement at all. also when it comes to my broadband, they sent me out a new 850 network modem so i could connect into the new faster wizz bang network. again i can't say it's any better. honestly it's worked fine in the past, and speed wise it's been pretty good. but when you're told this new network is the bees kness you really expect something to pop up and say "I'm amazingly better". If im one of a few that are on this new 850 network, and im very close to the tower it runs off. then i would expect something of an improvement.

My HTC Legend is unable to pick up more than a bar of reception at my house. There are none at my work!!! I very rarely get a SMS and can never answer a call when I'm at work. I've called Vodafone and they actually admitted that 3 reception is better!!!! When I send a text message that is 4 sentences long it only sends half of the message occasionally and twice!!!!! Facebook never works and my Internet doesn't either - apart from if I'm looking at the Vodafone homepage which will charge me!!!! Going to a Vodafone shop only results in me being being told to ring the Vodafone customer service again!!! Do you think it's my phone or the reception???? I'm a little frustrated and need my phone due to health problems. I have had this phone since December last
year and it's never worked properly. Could you please give me some advice??? The phone has already been reset too.
27 Jul 2011 01:41:36 PM: That's interesting as I have been a happy 3 customer for many years, the last 4 months has changed for the worst with reception at my house in suburban Melbourne pitiful. Have been told that the 3 service is winding down and migrating to Vodafone. Customer service at 3 is encouraging me to move across, no way after reading all of these problems.

Hello:

Reception is very poor and they keep saying the problem is my phone. Funny it works perfeclty with a Telstra Sim card.

They also have different networks, for example, if you are in Australia as a tourist and use the Vodafone Roaming Network it's fantastic and that is why I choose them,... very tricky they are,... ripofffone!

26 Jul 2011 08:43:50 AM: Do not do it
26 Jul 2011 09:25:11 AM: DON'T USE Vodafone - save yourself pain, hassles and frustrations and get something reliable. Go to Telstra or Optus.
26 Jul 2011 09:37:10 AM: You can see the results people are getting with Vodafone in Geelong on our Vodafail local page. I think your postcode is 3220, so this is your suburb's profile:

18917 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is worst at 25 Jul 2011 02:28:09 PM
I am constantly experiencing call drop outs and delayed voice mails issues. Called 1555, they said that the network is fine in my locality, which is not, as there are still signal dropouts. Missing business calls is not something worthwhile. And they are not agreeing for a waive off cancellation fee on termination of contract as well. Now that Vodafone wants to investigate the issue. And if there is a problem I would need to return my phone to them on cancellation of contract without any fee. This sucks.... No one can miss their interview and business calls.
25 Jul 2011 02:33:46 PM: that's right.. job-seekers on Vodafone are doomed! no prospective employer calls more than twice, and if they leave a message on your voicemail and you don't reply in a few days they assume you found something else. Vodafail customers who have important calls to make/receive have no chance....

18914 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is unbeleivably incompetent, epic fail at 25 Jul 2011 11:25:18 AM
I signed a contract in store changing my plan from $68 to a $45 infinite plan on the 05/04/2011. Shortly after this the vodafone store that I went to shut down and the information at the time was not properly processed. I have not been billed correctly for the period covering the 05/04/2011 to current.

I have tried resolving this a number of times (7 at last count) through the telephone complaint service. I also had to go into another store (04/06/2011) to get the new contract sent through via email (this should now be on file). I waited in store for over 45 minutes to get this processed.

Each time I ring vodafone I speak to a different person, and am often told to go back to the store to resolve the issue. The last call was the only one where I was given a reference number.

I am still being over charged, when I call the 1555 number all I get is someone telling me to pay an incorrect overdue amount, no one has responded to my email (5 working days now). I've signed a contract with this company, how can they just keep ignoring me like this?
25 Jul 2011 03:01:27 PM: I received a prompt reply from TIO, really relieved to know there is a way out of this straight forward issue that doesn't involve having to explain myself AGAIN to Voda 1555 staff.

hi, i went from pre pay to a $29 plan with a new nexus s with 200mg of data, 1st 2 months i dont go close to useing the data as i have wi fi at home, then last wekend i am checking my online bill and i see that i have "used" over $1200 worth of data over the weekend ,mostly during when i am alseep,no way have i downloaded anything and the few apps i have are the same i have had for the 3 months, vodafail say they cant query it till the bill is processed, then i get a txt saying to pay $600 or my service will get cancelled,i say no to that and tell them i cant do anything till you bill me as what they have said to me before hand, now they decide to investigate !!! i live in melton and even from vodafails website it say's that there is very poor data coverage here,so i dont even think i could download the amount they said i did, also according to there billing the times i am getting billed for data actually overlaped each other so it has to be a vodafone problem, yet i say again..
25 Jul 2011 09:03:42 AM: I have excatly the same experience as you. Vodafone said they will not investigate until bill is processed - so I am still waiting. Like you I am certain I did not download the amount of data they said. Would you please post further updates - whether you were able to resolve the issue with vodafone & in what manner.

18901 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Moderate at 24 Jul 2011 11:43:02 AM
These guys (Vodafone) have got some serious technical issues that don't appear close to being resolved. My problem is similar to the uni student who also posted today. My USB dongle worked fine initially, but steadily got worse and worse, jumping all over the place - 3G, EDGE, HSUPA, HSD. They replaced it, to little avail. Now, it takes forever to open a web page, if it gets there at all. If I connect to a WiFi or different network, WOW,it's like using a different computer - a stable, FAST connection that lets me do whatever I like for as long as I like. If Vodafone spent as much money on their current loyal customers as they do on chasing new ones, opening new stores and sponsoring sporting events, we wouldn't be having these problems. I'm ready to go!
24 Jul 2011 01:58:46 PM: Hey I'm the Uni student here, I have the same problem ever since it switches from 3G to hsupa at will... It's so frustrating. I'm leaving after this month but don't know where to go... Anything other than this crap should suffice. I'm over it and I'm at risk of failing my uni subject because I wait and hope that one day the thing will work... One day it does, one day it doesn't.... It's as bad as Melbourne weather, it's actually worse!
24 Jul 2011 02:56:18 PM: If you are not on a contract then it would be worth trying one of the other carriers on prepaid for a couple weeks. If you are on a contract then you might be able to get out without charge as they aren't providing the service you signed up for.

I'm a student studying part time through open universities. I've had a USB dongle broadband stick which worked fine tge first few months of use, then it started switching to hsdpa and speeds have dropped to worse than dial up. I took the USB dongle to a Vodafone store and expressed dissatisfaction, they gave me a pocket wifi device, it's been 4 weeks with this device and no better. I'm going to fail university because I rely heavily on a Internet connection for study material and lectures but I'm unable to download this material! I am so bloody furious I almost feel homicidal, I've smashed my iPhone in frustration and almost punched a hole in My 27inch iMac screen. I called Vodafone customer service and told them how dissatisfied I was and all they could offer me was my next bill waived.... Thanks guys, so you should fucking waive it, because I can't bloody use it anyway!
Why on earth are we paying for a service we aren't getting, I pay my bill on time every time... I'm sticking to my agreement in the contract... Vodafone isn't... Simple!
28 Jul 2011 11:10:16 PM: actually vodafone is .... if you read the terms and conditions of any contract or payg they state that they cannot garentee 100% full signal at all times as there could be site problems due to weather, road works or general tech problems at the site your connected to. i suggest you read the terms and cos next time before signing up to anything

18890 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is absolutely useless at 23 Jul 2011 05:40:22 PM
in mid 2010 i contracted with Vodafone for USB wireless broadband. Their retailer CJ assured me we had great coverage in our area. What a complete fabrication of the truth. By January 2011 things worsened with reception / connectivity and downloads speeds that were all useless. I was a train wreck after countless attempts to their offshore techspurts, and by March 2011 i was asking, no demanding my money back. which was just purely ignored. We had 3 services, 2 USB wireless broadband sticks and one special combo deal telephone, which was also suffering from zero reception at home.
Vodafones response "after investigation" was that the mobile telephone was working, however this only happened odafone rang while we were out of our home area. What a joke. Now they have a debt collector onto us and i have handed it over to my solicitor to take action on to recover my money and damages

called up voda to tell them that Clayton South area has been having issues, the guy told me it was has been an Australian wide outage and they have fixed the issue and that i should reset my phones settings......YET when i try to explain to him that at home (East Melb) i have PERFECT reception, net works, calls go straight through, text, mms & emails all work a charm. YET he insist that its a phone issue, to shut him up i did as he requested (note had reset my phone many times prior to calling up voda) and what do you know! same thing, no reception!

seriously.......you tell them its a problem with their network, they convince you its YOUR phone.

Been on the phone to billing today.I have been trying to stop since January premium text messages arriving and being billed to me.Rahul at Vodafone tells me that they are aware of the problem and have been trying to rectify it as I have been told twice that they have fixed it and I have done it over the net but the account stills is being billed and the 12 numbers keep coming in and being billed.I asked them if they were alerting the public to this problem as unless you vigilantly check your account you will be billed for a service that you thought you had stopped. This is basically a warning to check your bills as Vodafone according to Rahul have escalated the problem but are not planning on a public announcement.I figure it wouldnt be too hard through their own SMS system but they don't seem interested in alerting the public to a problem that has been going on for a lengthy period of time.

The USB charger part of my HTC Desire HD stopped working. The phone had been kept in near mint condition. It was to be covered by the 12 month warranty. After Vodafone sent it off it camed back with no work done on it and a report stating the severe distress caused the issue and that it would have cost more than the handset to repair. 10 years of loyalty, even through the rough patch last year. Enough is enough, need a reliable phone and reliable phone service

Calls dropping out, sms's unreliable, and internet? what internet? I have to go to my gym or library! What am I paying for. Both on my phone and on my USB modem service is not happening at all. It used to be very variable but now nothing. This is both in the northern suburbs and in the CBD.

My internet is hit and miss at the best of times and its getting beyond frustrating. As a student I need this service, in fact its ESSENTIAL to my studies... even now I can't load a page or wait less than 5 mins to load a frikken email. EPIC FAIL.. Even this whinge has taken 10 mins to load and type! Can't afford a to switch company.. arrrggghhh!

**UPDATE** can't even send this.. fuckers
**UPDATE2** 20 mins.. still nothing

Have not been able to get a reliable (or any) data connection for 2 days, I'm located just outside the Melbourne CBD. Really frustrating, noting I'm paying for a data service!

Just ported to Vodafone from 3 to get the new Nexus S. The "My Vodafone" site is absolutely horrendous compared to 3's website. I can't find anything... it is by far the worst website I've ever used. When will you get your act together, vodafone?

So after 9 months off contract with 3, I decided to sign up to a new 24 month contract with Vodafone. Ported my number over and the reception in Box Hill is absolutely terrible. I cannot even maintain a phone call without constantly redialing. What use is having so much credit when you are redialing all the time. Don't make this mistake like I did.

Hi all,
I have been getting excessive internet usage charged to my Iphone 3GS as off the 1st of July. On one occasion I apparently used 760 Mb whilst sleeping, mind you I have wifi at home also. I noticed this when I checked my usage by texting 1512, has anybody else had this issue?

Try this for size. I run a business account with "up to" 6 phones, at the moment just 3 active phones. The advantage of this account is I can add and remove numbers without penalty. Supposedly. Last number that was added to the account had a NEW ACCOUNT set up in my business name, complete with 2 phone numbers I've never heard of and has racked up several hundred dollars in calls. Additionally, they've been sending the bills to an extinct street address. I've given it straight to customer service to sort out and told them not to contact me until it is sorted out. They have a 48 hour deadline. Unbelievable.
7 Jul 2011 05:24:47 PM: Incredible and unbelievable!

Keep a separate note of all your conversations with Vodafail, CSR name, ID, incident number, date/time of complaint etc.

I have a sneaky suspicion you may need to invoke the services of the TIO at some stage in the not to distant future.

6 Jul 2011 09:43:05 PM: Yea it really is hard to know where the usage comes from and we can only hope most people aren't overcharged. The TIO has been swamped with Vodafone complaints and what usually happens is that when you contact the TIO, they contact Vodafone and give them 10 days to sort it out.

If you don't hear anything from Vodafone within 10 days, go back to the TIO and they will increase the pressure on Vodafone.

Goodluck!

6 Jul 2011 09:48:46 PM: You dont have the personal hotspot turned on?

Hopefully you sort it out.

8 Jul 2011 12:14:28 PM: I have a similar issue, a freind of mine works at Vodafone and is trying to resolve it for me, i am also going through the TIO, it is wrong for Vodafone to be able to get away with it from customers who dont anybody with Vodafone, keep us updated to your situation as will I, (my issue is topic 18657).
8 Jul 2011 06:12:20 PM: same issue, except my modem has not been used since april and vodafone have been directly debiting over $800 from my mums account. she is the erin brokervich of australia and vodafone don't stand a chance in hell.
11 Jul 2011 04:47:28 PM: Just got off the phone with Vodafone. They said they will waive the bill when it comes and add an additional 2GB each month for free. I'm glad it's over and hope it doesn't happen again. Thanks for the all support!
11 Jul 2011 04:54:23 PM: No worries and congrats! Glad it's sorted out now.

No network coverage in Richmond, Melbourne. Switched over to Telstra. Problem solved!!
6 Jul 2011 04:48:05 PM: That is 100% fail from the previous post!!
12 Jul 2011 03:31:20 PM: Funny you should say that. 3 weeks ago I was in Richmond and I had about 5 dropped calls when I was talking to my boss and another 5 when I was talking to my girlfriend. In the end I gave up and told them I'll call them back from the office phone when I get back to work

It can't be a telecommunications business when you can only get 1 bar 8km from the centre of the second largest city in Australia.

Does anyone get a discount if they can get more that 4 customers to transfer to Vodafone ?

Did anyone notice when Michael Clarke started doing ads on the tele for vodafone his batting form went so far down it was only marginally better that Vodafones data transfer rates ?

Heard he got out of it cause it was hurting his image, especially when he was comparing his dongle to Vodafones. OOPPS Clarkie no bars this week.

Good to see his form picked up soon after he gave them the boot.

18633 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Fail-tastic at 5 Jul 2011 10:13:20 PM
I upgraded to a new Samsung Galaxy SII. Phone is awesome, lightning fast browsing when at home on WiFi (Telstra Broadband). Figured I would give Vodafone a second chance because of all this talk of upgrading their network. I spent the first night on wifi downloading apps, then while showing off my phone at work the next day, couldn't even connect to Google even though phone showed HSDPA. Tryed to surf the net today with 3G reception and still waited 3-5mins for a page to half-load, then tryed the Android Market and got 'network error'. Tryed speed-test and got 'network error'. Tryed streaming a Youtube vid, outdoors, HDSPA logo showing, it took more than a minute to buffer 10secs. This is ridiculous, I have 3GB a month on my plan and since Sunday have used 100mb MAX. What am I going to do with 3GB!? I am going to try ringing Vodafail tomorrow to sort out this problem and possibly cancel my contract. I have been a Vodafone customer for 3 Years. The contract I am happy with, the Phone I am happy with, but if they can't do anything about my broadband reception, I am moving to Telstra.

Unable to send SMS, calls go straight to voicemail which don't arrive to me for upto 24hrs which often means missing out on business worth tens of thousands of dollars. Internet on the mobile doesn't work or a best is very slow.

Vodafone customer service rep promising to send out a new broadband Internet device that is supposed to fix the lack of broadband Internet being received, only to have it never show up.

Why doesn't the governing body do what CASA did to tiger airways and shut vodafone down?
5 Jul 2011 11:04:57 PM: I have moved all my phones including business mobiles to Telstra and can't be any happier.

Porting from 3 to Vodafone due to data charges when roaming with 3. Vodafone failed to confirm migration, so numbers returned to 3. Vodafone sends wrong sim. Vodafone insists that I speak to 3 to request migration again. Vodafone sends wrong sims..AGAIN. OMFG..frustrated, and I'm not even with them yet.
