26 Mar 2012 - Update Highest Rated Pain Stories Highest Rated Gain Stories Vodafail Local Facebook Page
Dear visitor,

Since its inception Vodafail.com has made a significant contribution towards raising awareness of the problems and issues faced by Vodafone customers.

Vodafone Australia customers have had the opportunity to voice their concerns, their fears and their troubles from every corner of Australia and beyond our borders. You have gathered the courage to stand up for your rights as consumers and to make your voice heard.

Each and every person who shared their story should have a sense of pride in this achievement and the changes that have occurred since the start of Vodafail.com.

More recently, traffic to Vodafail.com has declined significantly. Having achieved the goal of raising awareness and promoting concrete action in early 2011, we have now reached the point of closing Vodafail to new complaints. The site will remain online for as long as possible as a reminder and an example of what is possible when we share our experiences.

It has been a privilege to run this initiative and I'm am forever grateful for the help and support I've received. In particular I would like to thank Melissa, David and Travis for their continued efforts over the past 15 months. I'm also thankful and humbled by the support of ACCAN, Choice magazine and a wide range of media outlets, blogs and websites.

You can still browse existing stories and find out how to file a complaint if you are experiencing problems.

Until next time,

Adam Brimo

10293 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is HORRIBLE at 4 Jan 2011 12:18:16 PM
Vodafone put a default on my credit file after I had agreed with their collection agency on a repayment plan. A year after the bill was completely paid and the account cancelled, I had another call from them saying I hadn't paid my vodafone monthly bill - which was not possible at the time since I no longer had a contract with vodafone. I'm now wondering how I can get that default off. Anyone with suggestions?

10286 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is bad coverage at 4 Jan 2011 11:45:09 AM
Not only did it take me four days to receive a picture via txt, even though I was in the same house as the person who sent it to me but the coverage continually drops and my phone can take up to 30 mins when playing a 'share game' to send the update. I NEVER had any of this trouble with 3. I hope when Vodaphone and 3 merge that we get 3's coverage.

I live in Berwick and on the train not only does data drop out but also voice recepetion several times. Every second call i make they can't here me and I need to redial. So 2 connection fees. Thanks! And why, when I ring Customer Service, do I feel that they either don't get it or just don't care!
4 Jan 2011 11:37:44 AM: If possible can you use the 'Your Coverage' tab at the top of the page, it will help others if we can provide hard evidence to Vodafone about their lack of network coverage.

10255 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Lara at 4 Jan 2011 10:21:32 AM
i am generally not unhappy with my 17 year experience with vodafone apart from the appalling lack of customer service by phone. lara is the most annoying and unhelpful voice on the planet. the voice recognition software does not work and getting to speak to a person is impossible. i currently have a query re my account and can't even contemplate ringing. my appeal is that vodafone ditch lara and replace her with people who can direct you to the right section to a person who can deal with the inquiry. for my landlines and internet i use westnet (iinet) and not only can you speak to someone but if they are too busy you leave a message and they ring back. amazing but obviously it is something that can be done.

10248 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is pathetic at 4 Jan 2011 09:56:22 AM
Firstly let me say that I have been a big supporter of Vodafone for quite a few years, even converted my partner and 3 brothers to join up.
I have had an ad listed on trading post for 3 weeks with my mobile as the contact number and not one person has actually gotten through to me. Even though I have been in areas with full reception and my phone shows the same.
Everytime I try to make a call I cannot get through to anyone. I switch my phone off and on and then all these voicemail msgs come through from people trying to contact me for the ad. I am losing a lot of potential customers and sales Vodafone!!!!

I just don't use my phone anymore, definatly not for calls, no point. How have they got away with this for so long. Thanks for making us aware of how huge this is.

10235 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is No more than any other at 4 Jan 2011 09:19:25 AM
I have bad and slow 3G Internet for months. It tells me I'm roaming in Melbourne city. I also have a black spot in my room in Toorak, and spend days without reception over Christmas.

Having worked for Telstra billing though, I can safely say 90% of the comments here are exactly the same type of complaints I got every single day on the phone, and think it's just part and parcel of modern telecommunications.

Hopefully this page, the reports to the TIO, and the media reports make ALL the providers wake up and hopefully even see a change in the law so people unhappy with the service can disconnect from the networks without paying ridiculous exit fees.

I am an international student and i bought a 24 month cap plan 3 months ago. Unfortunatly all my friends and family from various network in Kenya are not able to text and call me. My mother sends me texts through my brother's 3 line and my friends reply my texts through facebook. Its a nightmare and the 30 minutes wait with no solution is painfull. I hardly make domestic calls hence this line is absoluty useless to me!

10221 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is TOTAL FAIL WHALE!! at 4 Jan 2011 08:57:52 AM
I was an avid user of Vodafone in the UK for approximately 10 years with not a single problem. I moved to Australia 5years ago and continued with the Vodafone network thinking that it was one i could trust.
Whilst in the city for the first 3 years it was great.
As soon as i left the city it was shocking and through the last 2 years has gradually worsened - to the point now where:

- My calls cut out
- Some dont even connect
- Outside Melbourne is pretty much a no go zone
- Sometimes even in the city i dont have signal now
- some texts dont even make their way to me
- voicemails are sometimes received up to a week later
- And 'Lara' never puts me through to the right department without me having to try 4/5 times or more...

I know Australia is far bigger than the UK but seriously, did they not realise that when they tried to take on the beast!!?? Who is operating their strategic management of network coverage/issue resolution/customer care...
These people need to be either sacked for being incompetent or given the right amount of resource to be able to do their jobs effectively!

I'm sorry Vodafone, this loyal customer is unfortunately slipping away to one of your competitors, those who shalt not be named 'Telstra'.

4 Jan 2011 09:12:00 AM: no they won't cut you off, but be sure they will send your outstanding bill(s) to a debt collection agent and make your credit rating shite!, after awhile you won't be able to get credit anywhere

10177 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is 3 is rubbish at 3 Jan 2011 09:02:35 PM
I have had nothing but bad reception since switching to 3, 1 year ago.

However, as of December 24th 2010, I have no 3G signal when I am at home IN NORTH FITZROY (which is close to the Melbourne CBD).

Also, my phone had been 'roaming' since the above date. I don't live in the country and my suburb is not a "high traffic area" at this time as most people are away on vacation.

They (3) have sent me on a wild goose chase and after 6-7 hours wasted trying to work out what the problem is, I still have to "wait" as the "technical people" are still on "Christmas break". I am so fed up, I want out!!!
3 Jan 2011 10:48:22 PM: Blimey..........if it's bad now, what is it going to be like when the people come back from holiday???? Check out the 'How To Complain' tab at the top of the page...The TIO will no doubt be able to assist you out of your contract. Good luck and let us know what actions you are going to take!

10174 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Poor Reception at 3 Jan 2011 08:55:44 PM
Spent 3 days in Grampian after Christmas and had no reception for 3 days in Hall Gaps unless we went bushwalking up to the mountains. Very frustrating each time I went to Victorian countryside due to no reception in my iPhone 4. Even Optus has reception in Hall Gaps or any Victorian countryside. When I first got my iPhone 4, I did miss phone calls or voicemails from colleagues and friends. Very low reception in Doncaster, Lower Templestowe and Box Hill areas. My sister and her family members are also not happy with Vodafone reception when they have to move from 3 recently.
Hopefully Vodafone will do better in 2011.

I have a prepaid phone with lots of credit and have found for about a week that I cannot receive any calls as it has had restrictions placed on it. I then went to my account on the internet and found that my Username has been disabled. I have tried on numerous occasions to ring Customer Service and have had to hang up as spending over 30 minutes trying to get through to Customer Service is not my idea of having a happy holiday. started in nov 2010 got a call from vodafone."do you know that 3 & vodafone have merged giving us the best coverage & by the way your contract is up on 3". It all went down hill from there.I was told that all people on 3 network will all switch over to vodafone network. All new to me just a simple plumber! "Would you like to start a new contract".Worst thing i could have said "Yes". This started events that i have just now recovered.Without sigining anything or reading/accepting product statement, was sent a box which should have had 2 phones&2net sticks (Wrong).Only 1 phone came& 2 sticks & delivery docket from vodafone corprate .Which had no contact phone number.Thinking that i would be contacted, the box sat on the bentch waiting for this to happen for 2 weeks.1/12/2010 6:00am turn alarm of on phone. No coverage check sim,i had been automaticly switched to vodafone overnight on warning no call.Very pissed trying to run a plumbing business in dec/xmas time with no phone thank you vadafone!!!!! With coutless calls to inda & countless trips to the local vodafone store & days of lost work. I was put back on my old plan 24/12/2010. Ps-The 2nd phone turned up on 23/12/2010 but still waiting for the bag to arrive to send it all back. One more thing, while on the vodafone network all be it brief. I did a job for my father at lake eppaloch which was very peacefull as nobody could reach me for two days i was lucky no accidents thanks vodafone for the best coverage! 10035 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is 100% at 3 Jan 2011 12:34:35 AM
I have a business in the middle of south yarra! One of Melbournes most populated suburbs.... guess what, 1-2bars (only if I turn my 3g off). With 3g no service. I live in Toorak, another innercity suburb. In my lounge.. no service, in my office... no service! I recently went on holidays in Gold Coast (Surfers Paradise!) again very central location.... no service, no data! I have lost over a doz important business calls/new clients over the past 2 weeks due to this useless company! How can I get out of my contract? I have 6 months to go and I will be moving to Telstra even if it costs me an extra couple of dollars a month (it beats losing tens of thousands in business loss over the past 2 weeks). Will vodafone reimburse the potential loss of busines I have realised over the past 2 weeks? I doubt it.. they cant even get their network to function... I am so angry with Vodafail... We are living in a world where you dont even think to check your service bar when travelling in metro areas. Mobile phones are now relied upon for personal and business use ( the same way a wrist watch became reliable 100s of years ago.. what would you think if your wrist watch would stop working every day and you would be late for important meetings? You would stop to rely on it!) This should not be happening to the mobile phone industry and its vodafone alone that is failing the entire industry!
3 Jan 2011 06:52:26 AM: I am with you, i need reliability to run my business, my business has to date succeeded (despite a major failure on vodafones part) due to our reliability and availability.
Whatever it costs (within reason), I am more than willing to pay. I am not a tightarse, I didnt go to vodafone because they were cheap, at the time, there flexibility suited me and I was more than happy with the service.
With the losses I have incurred to date, I could have paid 5 years worth of fone bills!!!

9986 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Very. at 2 Jan 2011 05:05:55 PM
Accepted contract because the coverage map said the coverage was full 3G in my home. The coverage is 3G, when I get reception (which is rare). I am frustrated that the coverage map was misleading, now I can't accept calls on my mobile (if they come through) as it is embarrassing when they drop out halfway through.

I'm not with Vodafone, but I'm with 3 which is basically Vodafone anyway. VHA is the crappest telecommunications company in Australia. The coverage around Doreen, VIC is very poor. I get little to no coverage. I don't even get emergency calls. VHA better get their game together and start helping their customers. I sat on the phone for about 3 hours trying to find out why my iPad Mobile Broadband wasn't working. It took them 3 hours to find out that it wasn't working in my area. So I went to Telstra and bought iPad mobile broadband from them. There coverage in my area is EXCELLENT!!!! I am switching to Telstra right now!!!!! DONT TRUST VODAFONE OR 3!!!!

9950 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Naive at 2 Jan 2011 03:09:54 PM
I won't repeat my own horror stories - its been done by another 9,949 users; i won't, however, forget the time I tried to call my VF mobile to test the audio conf in a business meeting only for it to hit voicemail. fail. made VF look bad. made me look bad for choosing VF. i had 5 bars reception. i was in the CBD. i couldn't believe it...

VF only has itself to blame for its current predicament. Its not the fault of the india call centre or some ops manager in the XYZ office. the current issues are a direct consequences of decisions approved by the highest levels of VHA management - CEO and directors included. It is a story of greed gone too far.

The mobile telephony business has very high fixed costs (network construction, fixed headcount) but low variable costs (each new customer costs VHA virtually nothing except for initial acquisition costs & handset subsidy). Every new customer is pure profit from a network perspective. But there is a limit; at some point, the network becomes saturated and substantial new investment is required.

What VF did...was to misprice their offering. In the pursuit of profit, they tried to play a market share game by discounting. infinity plans for $45 w/ more data than most would need. fail. this is business 101. one can play this game if they have lots of surplus capacity but VF clearly don't. Same trap as optus in 2008 as pointed out in delimiter. VF, don't blame smartphones. blame yourself for offering every person and their dog 2GB, 4GB or unlimited data. if its costs 100s of millions to expand the network - than maybe you're mispriced??

They say you get what you pay for. I think it may be ok for VF to deliver medicore voice/data quality given the pricing. But when no voice/data is actually delivered, than no pricing is appropriate......

9939 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is completely. at 2 Jan 2011 01:47:51 PM
I have been fighting with vodafone since October 18th, 2010. they charged me twice ($49 pre-paid) and are denying to have done it, despite my bank records proving otherwise.

Since then I have been emailing back and forth, as actually speaking to someone on the phone proved close to impossible.
I recieved an email stating that since they had not had a responce from me within the past 162 (approx) hours and they will be closing the "case" and marking it as "solved".
To which I wrote back CLEARLY stating that this was not solved and that I had been too busy to deal with the issue at that exact time. Bully tactics.

As this is the second time this has happened, I have left them for optus.

I am frustrated to say the least and just want the whole matter sorted as soon as possible.
The whole thing has been rediculous.

I'm a contractor who works one day pre week at a desk in a building in the city. I cannot receive mobile phone coverage while sitting at my desk for this one day per week. All other workers around me (ie those not with Vodaphone)receive mobile phone coverage. This means I cannot receive or make phone calls for around 20% of my working week which is a significant impost. Stuck on a 2 yr contract.

I signed up to a Vodafone mobile and USB modem more than 2 years ago while living in Melbournes southeast suburbs and Toorak close to the CBD...service in these areas is good. I now live in Briar Hill (post code 3088) between Greensborough and Eltham. Vodafone signal strength is very low, only 1 bar on 3G and 2G services. I cannot even send small emails through my USB modem internet service. I complained to Vodafone on numerous occasions. Each time tthey said Briar Hill has full 3G coverage, they eventually send technicicans to check the signal in my area and rang me back to say all is fine. I continued to call Vodafone customer service and was finally told Vodafone could not guarantee full coverage and service because I had moved address...but hang on its a "mobile" service. The service should be the same regardless of your location within Melbourne city boundaries and they never told me that when I took out the contract.

9918 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Hi i'm Lara, welcome to vodafail... Where we pride ourselves on treating you like sh*t and taking your money for it. at 2 Jan 2011 11:36:49 AM
Okay.. where do i start. Been with Vodafail for just under one year. Got myself $110 + Insurance unlimited cap on a Blackberry Bold 9000 for business use. Being a Mortgage Broker, my phone is is critical to my livelihood. Now i had cut outs during calls to clients, receiving important emails/messages days late and to top that the blackberry went crazy after a month and the shut down and never turned on...GREAT !!!

Sent the phone to vodafone repair.3 MONTHS later,Blackberry is back... two months later...Phone goes Faulty. Found out from Vodafone that they never repaired the phone and gave me a new Blackberry. 3 Months for a new phone and it's FAULTY too.

Then Moved to Nokia N97 Mini...Same deal. Same Excuse "We acquired 3 and undergoing tower upgrades to better our services" BULLSHIT !!!
2 Months later...Oh Great.... Another Faulty Phone.
Spoke to the head KINGPIN(So they say)Robert from loyalty team. Let's just say i kept him up that night.. CRYING.

One month later got my third phone Nokia X6 seemed like this was the one, was i wrong. I was barely able to make calls from the CBD. Shortly after i dropped my phone and cracked the screen. Got in touch with the Vodafail Insurance.

I was told in the store where i brought my phone that if i made a claim i could upgrade to the phone of my choice. Insurance said i was covered for $1,200.00 but they can't give me the iphone 4.
Why is the iphone worth more the that?
NO... but we can only give you the same phone (Nokia X6)... Plus it's going to cost you $150.00 excess.

SO YOU ARE COVERING ME UP TO $1,200.00 BUT WON'T GIVE ME IPHONE WHICH IS WORTH 600-800 AND YOU WANT ME TO PAY $150 EXCESS... WHAT THE FUCK FOR I SMASHED MY PHONE NOT MY CAR.

2 Jan 2011 05:40:07 PM: upto $1200 if it was lost or stolen in this cause it wasn't, $150 excess for repairing your phone outside your warranty, read your insurance brochure it explains it all
2 Jan 2011 09:10:08 PM: "Let's just say i kept him up that night.. CRYING. "... Wow... you took pride in making another person cry? You sure sound like the bigger man. As for your insurance complaint, I've had to make an insurance claim myself once. The book clearly explains an excess on insurable claims and c'mon mate why should you upgrade to a newer phone when your claiming for a phone of lesser value? This is all in the T&C's and is just common sense. It's like insuring a Ford Focus for $70,000 and then making a claim for a new BMW because 'you paid for $70,000 as your claimable option'.
3 Jan 2011 04:27:50 PM: He didn't cry.. i just said it like that. In the end of the day they don't own up to any mistakes they make and that is wrong. I've called them almost 3 times a week and not once have i had a sorry. Also if you spoke to this Robert guy, you would know how much of a rude prick he is. Did he forget i'm the unhappy customer?

As for the insurance... i know that now because they explained it to me over the phone BUT as i stated i was told otherwise. I'm sorry that i put my trust in people... i guess.

I signed onto a contract for my mobile (paying exactly double what I had previously on pre-paid) only to find my Balwyn North home had zero reception for all 3 of our vodafone serviced mobiles, nor my partners internet key. We were constantly going to cafes nearer the city, driving up the road with laptops and phones to make calls or do business online. We were told by vodafone we needed to get a booster, as we lived on a hill (??!) however this dismal inconvenience continued when we moved to Edithvale. I recently purchased an internet key in Frankston (why oh why??!!) thinking as it was a mini city there would surely be a tower nearer... aaa nope. It had just been removed. When I went back to the store to attempt a refund, I was re-directed to the ombudsman, as they had to go through the same channels as myself when making service enquiries. I feel vodafone even SELLING their kits in an unserviced area is FRAUD. I had to 'hand- in' an online assignment recently, and couldn't get any bars on my laptop to send it in. I ended up driving around desperately for an hour trying to find reception, and when I'd finally driven halfway to the city, (checking the bars on my laptop all the way)it was already too late, and I lost 10% off my mark. On Boxing Day, I had an online exam for the same subject, and my internet connection dropped out for 20min of the allocated 60min I had to complete the exam. I didn't finish the exam. I currently have zero reception inside my home (as usual) and only switch my phone on when I go out to avoid frustration. I've written to the ombudsman regarding both issues, but cannot do anything about lost marks. Inconvenience and frustration from a basic communication service supposed to make my life EASIER!! My relationship with vodafone ends with my contract this month. Biggest waste of $.

9877 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Mostly fail but are others better? at 2 Jan 2011 07:56:37 AM
Started off my hassles in the UK when I was trying to end my contract as we were emigrating to Oz. Sent them a letter as per website, they must have received as they sent letter back, but trying to actually PAY the bill was another story. After numerous calls from UK and Oz to their call centre I think I have paid it off, after being transferred round the houses when I eventually managed to get thru the automated section. Don't know and don't care.
Then ordered an iPhone from Voda AUS. Website wouldn't operated order button on first 2 attempts. Then when I did order it kept changing pages on me and wouldn't let me go back and edit info so I wasn't sure I had ordered. Husband rang call centre to chase - was on hold for 50 mins, transferred between departments until he made one lad look at his screen. Phone was on order and HAS arrived. Miracle!
Coverage pretty crap - keep losing 3G which makes accessing internet and messaging a real pain. I have to keep on resending until it picks up long enough to work. Very poor signal in house now - often 1 bar - luckily I've linked to my wireless.
However, husband's experience with other networks no better so (shrug).

9839 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Facing a shit storm of their own making at 1 Jan 2011 08:15:11 PM
One would hope that Vodafone (and other large companies) have learnt from this monumental PR disaster. In the text books that will be written about this episode Vodaphone will be used as example of Exactly How Not To Respond To major technical problems with service delivery.

The woeful network problems from black spits to dropouts, billing issues and customers being locked out would be bad enough in isolation. But what has made this situation ten fold worse is the way they failed to 1/ initially listen to the flood of complaints and 2/ respond to these legitimate concerns.

How did it come to this. I'm convinced that the out sourcing of their call centres meant that they lost that crucial direct connection to their customers. If the customer team had been kept in house I'm sure the avalanche of complaints would have been brought to the attention of senior management much sooner, well before the need for a web site like this became overwhelming.

Vodafone only have themselves to blame.

After the first two weeks my USB modem stoped working, turned out to be faulty so they sent me another after a week with the new modem it stoped working again after that i gave up and didnt use my internet for 2 months and started using it at the start of december, well since then i have had nothing but problems with the network, not been able to connect to the network half the time or the signal drops out on me while on the net then not been able to get on for hours. not only that i recieved my bill yesterday not only to find out that they have charged me for the 2 months that i didnt use my internet after i had said to them i hadnt been using it and was going to be sorted out. Don't like calling them after waiting 45 minutes last time i called.

I stupidly swapped to Vodafone after being a 3 customer with no reception in my home in metro Melbourne, thinking my endless reception issues would go away. I was told that since 3 and Vodafone are now 1, this would be the only way I could cancel my contract without paying a fee (which makes no sense, as I was paying for a service that was never provided), I was also assured many times that even though there the same company the operate out of different phone towers and my area was not a blackspot with Vodafone, and no blackspot = no reception issues. FAIL!!
I have no service whatsoever at my workplace (same area) and my Internet NEVER EVER works, unless ofcourse I am at home using my wireless Internet, where's my 2GB of data? Why can't I use it? And why-oh-why am I still being forced to pay for it?!

Made over 30 calls to vodafone, got hung up on many times was never rude to them they just didn't want to deal with my problem. Spent over 6 hours on hold, was promised calls back by supervisor never happened. Tryed for over a month to cancel my broadband plan, was promised 6 months free broadband, $20 credit for my troubles and told were upgrading service give them 48hrs. Still not fixed. Promised free modem within 5 days, two weeks later still waiting. Phoned again to see what the problem is and was told was nothing on the system about a modem being sent out. Was lied to again. Today I phoned to cancel and was told give us three months as we are fixing the network, I told them no way it's been over a month of being stuffed around. Was told if I didn't transfer to another persons name that I would have a disconection fee as I signed the contract only a month ago. So anoyed right now. After driving 900ks to nsw from vic I finaly got reception in dubbo.

1 Jan 2011 10:31:43 AM: Lucky for you, I can't get on most times, when I do (intermitent) it is sooooo Slooooooooow.

9699 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is call drop outs at 1 Jan 2011 07:39:36 AM
I am so sick a tired of trying to deal with this company!!! After being with a different service provider for over 10 years I approached DUDphone & was informed by the sales attendants at Crazy John's in Ballarat that the coverage was excellent in this area, and they further stated that coverage would be even better in the up coming months as a new tower was going up in Daylesford. In my profession I rely HEAVILY on my mobile phone & this was a crucial factor when changing service providers. (Wasn't I an idiot). It clearly states in my contract, "I have discussed and understand Network Coverage provided in the areas I require usage."

Service and coverage have provided a headache since day 1 although I persisted for quite some time. However, of late, the persistant dropping out of phone calls, colleagues telling me they have been trying to ring me and getting a recorded message that the phone is not in a service area. People ringing my wife's mobile (optus!!!) while she is working beside me because they wish to speak to me but can't get through to my phone, receiving text messages 24hours after they have been sent. To send a message from my home, which is 1.5km from the vodaphone shop, I have to walk around the house trying to find reception like it was way back in the early 1990's!!!

I made a complaint in October 2010 and was told I haven't complained enough and that they would send me a new sim card! Guess what?? No improvement at all!!

I rang again of on friday the 17th of December at my wits end and after hearing through the media that vodaphone was having to release customers from their contracts due to poor service and coverage. Whilst on the phone to customer service they had to ring me back three times due to the call dropping out. They finally put me through to accounts who were in the process of trying to tell me that I would have to pay for the termination of my contract when the phone call dropped out again. Within minutes it became clear that they had disconnected me, No phone call to tell me what was going on. At that point I rang back and after a 40 minute wait was told that my account was terminated and inactive, no discussion of fees.

I have since connected gone back to my old service provider but they have locked my iphone.

I also want an explanation as to a text I received in the last few days stating that I owe vodaphone an early contract payout sum

I would not have asked to get out of the contract a couple of months early if they had have met their part of the contract. Vodaphones service and coverage has been absolutely appalling and Vodaphone have failed miserably at fulfilling their part of the contract. I was a loyal customer to Vodaphone up till this point but given the poor service and failure on the part of Vodaphone, I fail to see how in good conscience they would seek monetary renumeration for the early termination of my contract.

Well,
Vodafone completely failed. I complained. They didn't fix the problem but they DID give me a credit.
An "Extra" credit. What is that worth? NOTHING!
Can I use it to recharge my account? NOPE
Can I use it to download something? NOPE
What's it good for? ? ? ? ?
NOTHING I have ever or will ever be interested in.

Vodafone has again MISLEAD me and provided THE EXACT OPPOSITE OF CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Vodafone treats you with contempt.
Vodafone is not interested in your problems.
Vodafone will not help you in the future.
1 Jan 2011 07:16:49 AM: Oh, and if you're out of credit - you can't call the complaints team.
EVEN though they give out numbers that start with "04"
These people are so beyond fail.

9664 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Poor at 31 Dec 2010 07:32:39 PM
I have been with vodafone for a couple of years now (24 month contract).
Regularly I have no service in the CBD and inner city suburbs; calls will go straight to my voicemail and often I will not receive the voicemail for a number of hours or days.
Furthermore, whenever I try to contact Vodafone customer service, I am often left on the phone for at leat 30 mins and sometimes my call drops out at the customer service end.
To make matters worse, the internet on my iPhone is extraordinary slow.
31 Dec 2010 08:55:59 PM: I have the same issues. My whole family is with voda and sometimes it takes us hours to contact each other. It's pretty bad cz in an emergency u can't make calls or receive calls. Voda is failing my attempts 9/10 times.

Anyone know what the reception is like in Gippsland (yarram, morwell, max creek) & rural victoria (like bacchus marsh, melton, ballan) ?? #vodafail or does it actually voda-work???
31 Dec 2010 07:42:30 PM: Check out the "Your Coverage" section above, simply enter the post code for the area you wish to interrogate for up to date data submitted by fellow posters.
1 Jan 2011 06:21:33 AM: Moe and Morwell are not to bad, Traralgon is really terrible, but then Traralgon is pretty terrible for all networks becasue it's in a bowl, there is nothing outside the main towns, lucky to get 1 bar
1 Jan 2011 11:34:47 AM: Bacchus, melton and Ballan all have poor reception. Vodafone admited melton is a problem area. Stay away from them if you want reception.
2 Jan 2011 06:56:36 PM: Bacchus, melton and Ballan all have poor reception. Vodafone admited melton is a problem area. Stay away from them if you want reception.

Keep getting cut off, next to NO reception in and around home in Brunswick or half of Melbourne whilst out and about!! Whenever someone calls OR i call them it is typical that we'll be cut off at least twice each call. Spent 4.5 hrs on the phone about 2 weeks ago complaining about this stuff - kept getting call dropping out whilst on hold and they wouldn't even call me back and I had to keep calling back.

I am half way through a contract with an iPhone 3GS. I currently live 10km from the Melbourne CBD, and while I sit at my PC sharing my pain - I have no service...
31 Dec 2010 07:53:36 PM: ...You're using an iPhone 3GS, the only run on single band, of course you wont get good service, that's the phone, not the provider, you would be better off moving to a less sycophantic brand of phone.
