26 Mar 2012 - Update Highest Rated Pain Stories Highest Rated Gain Stories Vodafail Local Facebook Page
Dear visitor,

Since its inception Vodafail.com has made a significant contribution towards raising awareness of the problems and issues faced by Vodafone customers.

Vodafone Australia customers have had the opportunity to voice their concerns, their fears and their troubles from every corner of Australia and beyond our borders. You have gathered the courage to stand up for your rights as consumers and to make your voice heard.

Each and every person who shared their story should have a sense of pride in this achievement and the changes that have occurred since the start of Vodafail.com.

More recently, traffic to Vodafail.com has declined significantly. Having achieved the goal of raising awareness and promoting concrete action in early 2011, we have now reached the point of closing Vodafail to new complaints. The site will remain online for as long as possible as a reminder and an example of what is possible when we share our experiences.

It has been a privilege to run this initiative and I'm am forever grateful for the help and support I've received. In particular I would like to thank Melissa, David and Travis for their continued efforts over the past 15 months. I'm also thankful and humbled by the support of ACCAN, Choice magazine and a wide range of media outlets, blogs and websites.

You can still browse existing stories and find out how to file a complaint if you are experiencing problems.

Until next time,

Adam Brimo

15030 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is shocking at 1 Feb 2011 05:57:27 AM
I've been with Voda for as long as I can remember never had a problem at all until Dec 10 when all of a sudden no service, searching, dropped calls, ten hr wait on sms ect. I went to Voda store got a new sim 3 times before I found out about this site. I finally got thru to the 1555 number after trying for weeks then giving up when 2 weeks ago my service was actually quite good, full reception on 3g, then of course it lasted bout 4 days then back to crap.Voda said yesterday they would check it out and I would have to wait 5-6 working days to see what happens. BUT a question I'm pre paid with a iphone 3gs that is locked to Voda but I bought outright Will they unlocked my phone if it's proven the reception is crap???

I can understand people swearing and being angry, its exactly what you do when you are being robbed by criminals.
Its taken me all day to get connected to the internet via the @hithouse usb stick.
What i cant understand is why the authorities are still allowing these criminals to advertise on the radio/tv drawing in unsuspecting honest australians.
This organisation has to be stopped as its getting out of control.
I do understand vodafone reps falsely posting on here quoting that there is nothing wrong with vodafone but at the end of the day these people will have to answer to the devil

15009 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is never respond to email enquiry within timeframes at 31 Jan 2011 04:21:58 PM
send email enquiry and have auto response that customer officer will attend to my enquiry within 5 working days. after that period I have received email indeed but saying that they have aleady answer my question adn if I have anymore concerns please write below lines. this was really irritating because you cannot access any space between lines. when I simply respond to email asking for someone to call me back have received more identical email requesting me to do same: fill in your enquiry below lines. It is hopeless I still have to spend some time on the phone to be able to talk to them. frustrating.
31 Jan 2011 07:34:52 PM: I know --------- Vodafone do not follow normal e mail etiquette and I have no idea why.......other than to make it difficult for the users, you should be able to hit the reply to form a normal e mail audit trail.

If you have tried to contact Customer Care without success or not to your satisfaction the next step is to contact the TIO.

4 months into my contract and I have had to call Vodafone to get my Invoice & statements for my mobil phone emailed to me, I get a sims message saying the bill is due,the date its due and the amount it also states in the sims that a copy of the invoice has been emailed to me........guess what...thats right no invoice..... how can I claim in on my tax if I cannot give my accountant a invoice.
Today I recieved 3 back-dated invoices,"all paid on time", no thanks to there system, AS FOR THE CURRENT INVOICE which must be paid by Feb 9th, "The accounts Dept has sent a copy to her supervisor and SHE,"the supervisor", will email it to me...........can anyone work that out......I can't.

15004 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is very very ordinary at 31 Jan 2011 02:14:50 PM
So I've emailed Vodafone (after giving up on trying to call), and they have offered to pay my $84 bill this month. This is after they refused to let me out of my contract, giving no reason what-so-ever.
Despite the lovely month off, I'm still not overly impressed with the service I'm getting, or the fact that no one seems to be able to tell me when/if it's going to get any better.
Do people think I can still ask to leave my contract, even though they've offered me compensation as such, and have already told me in writing that they are refusing to let me go?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
31 Jan 2011 03:49:18 PM: If they fail to provide the service then they are in breach of there agreement, stop calling them, write your complaint down and send it by regestered post given them 7 days in which to comply and also demand a written explanation from them... if they fail to adhere to your request(s) send them a letter cancelling there contract REMEMBER to regester all sent mail. if Vodafone takes you to court after that sue the Arse of them.
31 Jan 2011 04:00:19 PM: Please don't listen to the above reply. You cannot cancel your contract without Vodafone Permission, otherwise you will be slugged with an early termination fee. Please check out the 'How To Complain' link at the top of the page, follow all of the steps, however you will no doubt end up at the TIO. The TIO will be able to assist you out of your contract.

Best of luck.

14998 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Customer service in store - NOT at 31 Jan 2011 11:26:53 AM
I tried to call Vodaphone for an account matter and could not get through, so decided to try the call-back thing. It said it woudl call be back in one hour - FAIL! No call at all.

I actually went in to the Vodaphone shop at Bondi Junction that was quite full of customers, but they had one staff on and he was out the back. (There were two staff who had finished shift and were standing at the front of the store discussing what they were doing now that they had finished - too bad about all the customers there...) Customer service and retail shop security FAIL.

How does Vodaphone do business???

Poor Service, phone says it has coverage phone does not ring. In some built up areas phone disconects from network and need to restart the phone to force a connection. Oftern with 5 bars of service data will not work as the network appears to be jammed. Again very noticeible in busy areas around lunch times especially. SMS messages delivered a day late, voicemails delivered a few days late. This is unacceptable for me to run my business. I lose money every time I cannot receive a call. I am on a business plan yet I am not receiving a business class of service.

My Vodaphone - "Registering is simple and should take about three minutes." RUBBISH!! FAIL!!!
I got fed up trying to contact them by phone so decided to give the self-serve on the web a go. I tried to register online for "My Vodaphone" via the web site and guess what? Not once, not twice but three times FAIL! The web site comes back with an "Internal error. Customer service has been notified" message. I might try pigeon next or tin cans and string next. They might be more effective.

I've had a Blackberry with vodafone for the past 2 years and reception had not been an issue at my Wollongong house previous. I've since upgraded to an iPhone 4 and low and behold - no reception! AT all!

I've had someone from customer service try to contact me on a number of occasions but the call drops out every time they try to contact me. Outrageous.

I called vodafone regarding my poor service. Vodafone offerd me one months free however if i still was unhappy with the service I could cancell all fees waived.
One week later I called again to cancell as I still continued to have no service on a regular basis. The new operator i was talking to said that the preivous operator was wrong and what she offerd was impossible. I had asked to speak to the preivous operator. I was then put on hold as they searched for this person. She then came back and informed me that no one in the company know's who that person is therefor cannot be contacted and cannot verify the offer that i was given.

14985 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Pretty damn fail. at 31 Jan 2011 12:26:19 AM
After being told by staff at Vodafone Dee Why that coverage in Marrickville was excellent, and that I would get coverage "everywhere except the middle of Australia" I was pretty shocked to find that I had to stand in the backyard to make a call at all. Even then there were frequent dropouts, and the sound quality often rendered any attempt at conversation pointless. This is about 5 or 6km from Central Station!
I was also surprised to see their website 'coverage checker' that the whole of the Inner West is marked by a smiley face, indicating good coverage. It's been a long time since Law School, but doesn't the Trade Practices Act say something about this? After about 2 months on the $70 unlimited plan I am looking to terminate my contract ASAP.
I was hoping to give back the handset (HTC Desire HD), as I intend to sign up for Telstra's unlimited plan, which includes an iPhone. I can't really afford to pay $800 for a backup phone. Unfortunately I cracked the screen this week, so I assume I'm stuck with it.
Does anyone know whether I am legally obliged to pay for the phone, and if so, how much? Could I just pay for repairs, give back the handset, and call it quits? ANY KNOWLEDGABLE ADVICE WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!
I've waited on the phone for hours trying to contact Vodafone before being told to hang up and try again. Staff at Dee Why told me to switch to 2G in my home which: a)Doesn't work and b)Leaves a bad taste in the mouth because its not really what I paid for, is it? Its like buying a Porsche and then being told it works okay as long as you don't go over 40.They also said their towers would be updated mid-year and all would be well. After my experience with them so far, I don't believe this for a second.
The really amazing thing to me is not that Vodafone provide a rubbish service, it's that a major company can basically commit fraud to make sales, despite all our consumer protection laws, and rather than the directors getting hauled off to jail, they continue to rake in the dosh, while the best we can do is whine about it on a website.
Over all, a learning experience, and a total pain in the balls.
31 Jan 2011 04:38:51 AM: I had the same issue at Stanmore, had to go outside to make a call, was told by staff there was nothing I could do.

That was with Optus.

I have been a vodafone customer for 10 years. The last 2 years my coverage has slowly but surely reduced throughout australia and europe, when I make a phone call I have to re-call the person I'm talking to 3-4 times to complete one conversation and been on hold each time I've called vodafone to complain for over an 1hour only to be transferred to someone in india who can't speak or understand me!!It's disgusting and I believe loyal customers should not have to put up with this blatant lack of commitment and obvious grab for increased dollars for company execs!

14944 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Still ruining my relationship.... at 30 Jan 2011 07:47:07 AM
Since I got so sick of Vodafone not delivering my texts I changed to Optus and thought the problem would go away.

No.

My boyfriend is with Vodafone. Back in October when we first met we nearly lost our relationship because when he texted me to ask me out he never got a reply from me. He thought I was ignoring / not interested but I was replying and I was interested - vodafone just wasn't delivering my responses!

We've been through a rough patch the last few weeks but on Australia Day we had such an amazing time so he texted me the most sweetest msg the next day. I replied with a similar msg and all seemed great again. The next three days he seemed a bit cold/odd/distant, I was confused. Last night we finally figured it out.

He never got my nice reply so felt all rejected /confused.

Gah!!

F*CK YOU VODAFONE!

4 months of this sh*t is unacceptable!

We've decided to not trust our phones anymore and just send emails or pick up the phone. We shouldn't have to do this on a $90 plan!

30 Jan 2011 08:39:41 AM: If you need assistance on getting out of your contract before your 4 months is up, check out the 'How To Complain' link at the top of the page. The TIO is no doubt where you will end up, but make sure you follow all of the steps.

I would switch to Optus straight away if I was not on contract

Its simply embarrassing using Vodafone for business, 90% of my calls drop out if I am on the pone for longer than 40 secs. Calls sometimes go straight to voice mail and then I get a message an hour later.

Using your handset and making calls on Viber free internet calling is clearer than paying for calls on Voda fail.

Face time on the iphone 4, has gone from working 100% of the time to around 30% this is very strange.

Ok, we flogged Vodafone. Now I am seeing some progress, mobile broadband has improved.

But one thing I don't understand here is how ignorant others can be. I am talking about 3.

Instead of learning the lesson, they are giving the same crap:
no mobile broadband connection around Rockdale/Kogarah area.

Shall we throw mud on them too to beat into their brainless heads that
1. they HAVE GOT TO WADDLE A BIT QUICKER in responding the clients and
2. provide the service they have got us locked into

It's just unbelievable, several 3rd world countries I know (from personal experience) already have 4G coverage with 3mbps minimum internet speed!!!

Ugh!!!

Around the Albury Wodonga region no one with vodafone has been able to use almost any service since 14:10 on the 28/01/2011. This problem is still current and does not appear to be being addressed and Vodafone do not seem to be providing any explanation. This is not the first time. I expect to be compensated, then I shall be changing service provider. Vodafone have been neglecting their customers for too long.
29 Jan 2011 09:07:43 PM: If you need assistance on getting out of your contract, check out the 'How To Complain' link at the top of the page. The TIO is no doubt where you will end up, but make sure you follow all of the steps.

14927 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is complete fail at 29 Jan 2011 08:45:01 PM
Another customer from the Albury area being left completely without coverage. At least this website lets me know that I'm not the only one, unlike the Vodafone website, which doesn't mention that anything is wrong at all. Of course, like many people these days I do not have a land line and thus cannot call them to complain if I have no service. I have emailed but have not received a reply as yet...
I thought I might have got reception at my work site today which is 40km to the north and usually gets reception. No luck there either, which makes working alone in an isolated area risky.
Not happy.
30 Jan 2011 01:19:06 PM: Very risky indeed...........not good at all!!

If you have tried to contact Customer Care without success or not to your satisfaction the next step is to contact the TIO.

From the Albury area...... no service for a few days, an occasional minute of service then back to nothing.Rang the help line a few hours ago and would you believe I was told I WAS THE FIRST FROM MY AREA TO HAVE A PROBLEM - then the old trick tell me what a valued customer blah blah...... and transferred me to another section - now this sounded promising - but guess what a recording advising me to phone back tomorrow between 8am -8pm..... I just wanted to know what the hell is going....Ok vodafone I have had enough this time - enough is enough - good ridens

Have not had ANY phone or mobile internet connection now for OVER 48 hours (sorry for the yelling)

Currently have 1 mobile on a plan, mobile internet and a prepaid mobile with vodafone and not one of them works! I just replaced the prepaid with a phone from another provider, as I really need a phone that works for emergencies! (Dont have a landline)
Would love to get out of my contracts for the mobile and internet that are on a plan but not sure how to do that.....

I have been in to the local Vodafone store today, and have been told what the problem is... just doesnt help my frustration when they are my only means to the outside world. If this wasnt a common occurrence I really wouldnt complain, but this is all the time. I moved house in July and since then I have only had 1 bar for connection rather than 5 or more (very poor connection), sad part is, I dont live in the sticks... I live in a reasonably large town!

my god they are pathetic. I wrote on their facebook page about 2 weeks ago with a problem, they wrote back and said email this email with ur number and pin. so i did. waited literally a week. and i just got the reply today and this is all it says
"can you confirm your number and pin"
UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH i just sent them that in the first email this is a JOKE
29 Jan 2011 06:09:50 PM: I have read some of the horror stories on their FB page, and from what I can tell you are not the only one experiencing a drama with there.

I guess it is not their fault as they are trying to help people but the staff that then have to deal with the influx of emails must be understaffed as every day hundreds more complaints pop up, as well as many re-complaints like yours where they haven't addressed the problem you raise in your email.

Either way best of luck. If it helps we have some more information on 'How To Complain' under the 'How To Complain' link at the top of the page.

14912 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Ridiculous at 29 Jan 2011 04:25:21 PM
I have been without service since lunchtime if not earlier Friday the 28th. It has only come back once in that whole time for about five minutes! After a frustrating phone conversation with "Amit" from Vodofone who tried to tell me there were no problems in my area I still have no service now - I am in the Albury area. WTF - is anyone else experiencing this? P.S. I certainly won't be paying my bill for no service!!!
29 Jan 2011 05:06:31 PM: Get this one....received an SMS 28th Jan that was sent on the 12th July last year....an important SMS no less....lost a job because of this SMS not arriving....
29 Jan 2011 05:09:49 PM: Whilst I understand your frustration, be very careful going down the line of not paying your bill. Vodafone are quick to give you a bad credut rating due to unpaid bills and that can take 5+ years to clear.

Your best choice would be to check out the 'How To Complain' link at the top of the page, and between Vodafone and then no doubt the TIO, push to get out of your contract penalty free and change to a carrier that can provide service.

Either way, Best of luck.

14908 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Useless at 29 Jan 2011 03:18:02 PM
After looking on Vodafone's website and seeing no outages in my area, I've spent the last 2 days trying to work out why my mobile has no reception. Thinking I needed a new SIM, I went to the local Vodafone shop only to find out they had numerous people with the same problem. Obviously an outage, but Vodafone assured me when I called them that everything is ok from their end and they will get in touch with me in 5 days(!) to tell me what my problem is. As my husband is also with them, I am not impressed. They need to inform customers instead of keeping them in the dark. And improve their service.

The Tower at Dudley NSW 2290 is Dead. Took me 60 minutes to load this page in order to comment using Vodafails Edge System.
What going on Vodafone?
Reading the recent posts it seems that Vodafone has been worse than ever since early Friday Morning.
WHY isn't there something up on Vodafones website to explain what there up to. "System update?" We should all be so lucky!
29 Jan 2011 12:11:30 PM: Seems like the tower at Dudley serving areas surrounding (Redhead, Gateshead,Bennents Green, White Bridge Etc) is next to "Kaput"
Look at The Local profile 2290, "Vodafail Local" on this website.
Also in The Report Downloadable on this Website, "Vodafones Situation Yesterday Today and Tomorrow-Final" Search report for 2290 and look at results, they are the worst.
It's not on Vodafones list of places to upgrade though!

BUT
Maybe I should start going to church and pray for them to get it right?

What a great idea, people.

But you wouldnt want to know it but my internet connection had came good the very same morning of the call, it had been bad (Edge Network) for 5 days.
Apparently the area Im in at Redhead (Elsdon Street Kalaroo Rd - signal from Dudley Tower) is a known blackspot.
Dont know what they did but Im happy at the moment.
I was also told that Vodafone has my area on a list of places to "improve", could be a while though.
So Im Sticking with them atleast until I use my data, good for 12 months.
PS - I hadnt got around to going to church, but I had faith / sort a.

14864 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Unlock iphone at 28 Jan 2011 08:56:26 PM
i am a business owner and i do over 60 hours of talk time a month. i am a victim of Lara!!!!. I managed to cancel my contract after speaking to TIO.

after cancelling the contract i have been asked to send the phone back to them, however i realised that this shouldnt be the case as you are paying for the phone part of your plan. I straightaway called back and after another argument the fee was $244 (based that i had 8 month left on my 24 month contract on $99 unlimited cap).
When i asked them to break down the figuire they changed their mind and advised me that my payout fiqure to keep my iphone 3GS 32MB is $46.

Moved to Telsta only to find out my phone is locked. vodafone customer service said to me "sorry for the inconvenience" as it will take 10 working days to unlock my phone and will cost me $25

they are a joke of a company. I have been a 10 year loyal client but will never give vodafail my business ever again.
28 Jan 2011 09:57:17 PM: Get back to the TIO- same file, I think. Will cost Voda more if you open a new one.
29 Jan 2011 04:39:32 PM: You get a free handset on the condition that you sign on for 24 months, if you cancel before the 24 months then of course you have to give it back. A big reason for this or for being asked to pay the remainder of the handset is that many people are trying to use all this bad media for vodafone as a way to cancel their plans just to keep their phone AND sign up again with a new phone.

Also, check the box your phone came in. You will see it marked that there is a unlocking fee.

Ok I have been on hold 4 times now, each time for no less than 2.5 hours(5 hours was the max only to be hung up on when put on hold), finally was able to log onto myvodafone to check my call data and what do you know every time I try to see more than the last 7 days it disconnects me. They have been charging me for downloads I do not receive and have been charging for V2F calls.
It goes from bad to worse they sent me a email saying "recharge on the 28/1/2011 and get double bonusbank points", so I recharged and as you most probably know no extra bonus points. Been on hold now for 2 hours and 45 minutes.
Has taken well over 13 days and 10 hours on hold just to be able to log into myvodafone, but I still cannot do anything once logged in as they cut me out and I have to log in again. And I have been with VF since day one(loyalty LOL)
And I could go on and on, but hey my broadband speed hit the most ever whilst here now 750kbps YAY so much for 7mbps. Oh and my phone internet connection is that slow it times out between pages.

I have been unable to make a call or access the web for the last 4 hours. This happened to me for about a week 2 months ago. This is now beyond a joke. What are Vodafone doing to fix all these problems, NOTHING by the looks of it. All you get is more PR spin. JUST FIX YOUR NETWORK

14822 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is VERY at 28 Jan 2011 12:35:02 PM
Well last year i had 2 months of no data and vodafone would tell me a different reason each time. In the end after talking with my internet provider and Apple -phone provider i discovered if i had my mail sent from Optusnet to Gmail vodafone could get it!! Vodafone were useless, had no idea what was wrong and never communicated directly about the fact that there was a problem they were aware of.

Now i am finding the service where i live drops out and in fact drops out often in areas which used to be fine. SMS take up to 12 hours to arrive from Telstra and Vodfone sms to telstra are equally unreliable.

I will take the SMS issue to them when i have a spare hour.

I am so over the calls dropping out it is drivng me insane. You literally have to be standing in the middle of the street for any decent reception and I live in the south of Sydney which isnt exactly a remote area. Dont lock yourself into a 24 month contract with them whatever you do...

14809 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is EXTREME!!! at 28 Jan 2011 09:18:12 AM
I first started to realise that I was having problems with my phone a few weeks ago. I only had a couple of weeks to go until my contract ended but decided to stay as they offered such an attractive offer.. Too good to be true I thought so I triple checked the inclusions and went on a 24 month contract again.. BIG MISTAKE!!
I have just received my new phone today but the last week has been horrible. I have not been able to make calls, I can not text, I simply cant do anything and I feel like I am carrying a phone for no reason at all! Incoming and well as outgoing calls can not be made smoothly.

The other problem I had was when trying to upgrade my plan, I was put on hold for over 30 minutes every time I called and then of course I gave up for that day. Tried again the following and the same thing again!! And by the 3rd day, I had used my phone (without the plan that i needed to upgrade to) and they are trying to charge me over AUD$90.00 for calls I have made?? I think if they had picked up my calls and did not inconvenience me so much I probably would not have owed that to begin with as my new contract would have been processed.

Soooo annoying!!! I complained a few times and they've given me a $15.00 credit?? A lousy $15.00 is NOT enough for the time and inconvenience I have dealt with!!

14808 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is extremely at 28 Jan 2011 08:58:15 AM
I constantly receive complaints from family and employer that they cannot reach me , even when my phone is showing full signal. I have even tested this by dialing my mobile from my landline at home & office. 2 out of 3 calls dont get through, saying "phone is switched off or not available or words to this effect". What rubbish. Also my messages dont arrive till at least 1 hour after sent by sender. Reception at various points in Sydney is also dismal. I have been complaining to Vodaphone since November. Have finally given them an ultimatum. I want to cancel my contract immediatly. Tech support has said that they want to do some further checking first, even though we have exhusted all avenues as suggested by Vodafone, change sim card etc. They said that they need 4 days to check their systems & get back to me. This is from 27.1.11
28 Jan 2011 10:02:48 AM: They normally do get back to you, but hold them to their word and the next time you speak to a rep tell them you shall be going to the TIO.........it has a tendency to focus their mindset!!!

The issue I keep having is calls going straight to voicemail. Ive tried different phones and it keeps happening. It also seems that the voicemails take increasinly long to be received. This is all occuring in full coverage areas. I had a total of 66 calls this month go to VM which I would presume is, compared to total calls recieved quite a high percentage.

14804 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Overcharged for 2.5 years due to misplaced contract at 28 Jan 2011 08:13:05 AM
Lack of response from Vodafone on a billing issue after calling and visiting their store numerous times. I received a text message from Vodafone that I owed $988. After calling their call centre I was told it was because I had exceeded my data usage and their solution was to block my ability to use the internet. My point to them was how can my bill go from approx $80 per month to $400 - $600 per month with no change in usage pattern, they said due to privacy restrictions they could not tell me what websites I visited which would have contributed to such a huge increase in data. I ended up going into a store who confirmed that the last contract they had on file was from 2006 and that had no data coverage at all. I explained that I did sign a contract in 2008 and was placed on a data plan. As they had no record of this contract, I brought a copy in for them the following day. It turns out they have been over charging me since September 2008, and in addition have been charging for my nominated "Vodafone friend" who I was meant to be getting free calls and text messages to.
28 Jan 2011 08:48:07 AM: Get in touch with the TIO - there is a complaint form on this website somewhere.
I did and problem sorted. Have email from 'Rebecca' stating I owe them nothing and let out of contract without penalties. I have reason to suspect their accounting is not just incompetence but outright fraud, given what they did to me.

7 Feb 2011 07:20:00 PM: Thanks, I lodged a complaint with TIO, heard back today from Vodafone and they are wiping the $1,300 (yep somehow there is another $300 unbilled charge). I'm definately changing providers after this is sorted!!
8 Feb 2011 03:28:56 PM: yes I just had the very same issue for $740 - couldn't explain why or what it was for!! Two weeks of back and forth and I finally logged with TIO - entire amount reversed after call from Syd Resolution centre 5 days after complaint was lodged.
7 Jun 2011 02:00:17 PM: I'm having the same issue, almost to the t so I've contacted the TIO and will see how it goes. Funny thing was is that I asked the 5 people I spoke to at Vodafail if this had happened before to anyone else and they said NEVER. An outright lie, obviously if the posts on this website are anything to go by.

I am ready to void my cpntract as I never signed with vodaphone and want nothing to do with cmpany and policies.

14800 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is The Biggest Stinker in the teleco cesspit at 28 Jan 2011 07:42:33 AM
I had an issue with a payment in Feb 2009. I made the payment online via credit card, noted the receipt number etc and it took 6 months for Vodafail to acknowledge / find the payment in their system. I called them several times, had assurances the problem would be fixed but nothing happened. Vodafail even suspended the usage of the 3 phones on the account. I called them numerous times, received verbal guarantees of returning my call and not once did that happen. It was only after I informed Vodafail that I had contacted the Telecommunications Onbudsman. Long story short, it took 6 months for them to finally credit the account and I am still waiting on them calling to inform me that the problem has been fixed... I only found out by seeing the credit on the account. Customer service... what a joke.

I've cancelled my account twice after 12 weeks of trying (not that I should have even had to cancel - my contract expired). I've requested some sort of confirmation number each time to confirm cancellation and was given one. Cue celebrations that I'm officially free of Vodafone forever!!! Then I get a bill. And another bill. Eventually I call - "you're account is still active. We have no notes on your account to show anything about a cancellation. Should I put you through to the cancellations department?' What would that achieve?

No joy until on the 13th of Jan 2011 a 72 hour final demand turns up demanding immediate payment or additional costs will be incurred. Contacted the Vodaphone internal collections (?) number (1300652952) and was told that this is the one and only form of final bill. WTF!

14797 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Incoming Call Restrictions... WHat thE? at 28 Jan 2011 07:00:42 AM
My phone intermittently 'drops out' and callers hear a message that this phone has "incoming call restrictions" and cant get through to me, leave a voicemail, or even send a text.

At these times my phone reception still shows full network reception. This usually happens for an hour or two then seems to fix itself but is still very frustrating as i need my phone for work and it is a real problem when people cant get through.

I have contacted Vodafone many times about this problem and have received a variety of responses from it being my fault for pressing some mystery button or Nokia's fault i.e. a problem with the handset. It is NEVER a Vodafone problem. As Ive explained to them this happens to me with three different handsets (Nokia N8, 6110 and Ericsson k800i) so Im sure the fault is with the network...

Personally I think it happens when the network is congested.. but they would never admit to that...

Tried to swap a business account to a private at a Vodafone store. They said they are not allowed to handle business accounts. Said even if he could, the system was down and he could not help anyone until it came back up in 20mins or so. He said I had to deal with it through a call centre. He admitted there were none in Oz. In other words, I am not allowed to do business with Vodafone in Australia, only India. I am trying and getting no where. Does Vodafone actually exist???

14783 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is shocking at 27 Jan 2011 07:39:19 PM
Every time I call vodafone, which is every month, I get shuffled off from this department to that, and then back again, nothing gets resolved, I often get cut off and have to call back, it ends up taking up HOURS of my time and often with little to no success. Terrible!
27 Jan 2011 07:42:28 PM: Delayed voicemail, delayed SMS, network drops out, disproportionate bills to cap and usage, vodafone staff tend to shuffle you from department to the next without ever resolving issues, extremely inconvenient and bad service
27 Jan 2011 07:42:44 PM: I use my phone for work so when messages don't come through - SMS and voicemail - for hours, to days, it affects my livelihood and my professionalism
27 Jan 2011 07:43:07 PM: I am on a $99 cap, my bill often exceeds $1000 even though my usage does not exceed my cap amount (as told to me by a vodafone employee) and I do not download data. I have to call vodafone every month to resolve and only once have I had success. The other times my phone has been barred because I refused to pay the entire amount, thereby forcing me to pay it as I need my phone for work and then ahving to spend literally hours and days of my time energy and money trying to get my money back. It's an absolute disgrace

14779 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is ridiculous!! at 27 Jan 2011 07:31:52 PM
I recently entered an iphone 4 contract with vodafone, and embarassingly it was so high-tech for me that i couldn't even figure out how to make a call or activate it properly. I rang vodafone support from my land line and the operator told me that 'there is a level of assumed knowledge with a high end phone like this one'. i apologised to her for not being born with an innate gift of working an iphone. Indeed, this handset is much fancier than i will ever require. But i do have one question: if this telephone is so fantastically high-tech, why can it not perform a simple task like keep me connected during my telephone conversation with someone?
27 Jan 2011 08:08:30 PM: It is not the phone, the network is the problem.

14778 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Poor customer service at 27 Jan 2011 07:30:20 PM
Vodafone WAS a great service and over 10 years ago I went with them as the best alternative over the bigger telcos. Ever 12 months for a few years due to my spend I would get a call asking if I would like a new phone, which at the time I was out of contract and didnt have to resign just continue paying bill month to month. Happy days

Flash forward to last few years no longer speaking to those great original call centre employees, sometimes not ever speaking to a person at all....gotta love LARA who will only put you through to an operator if you swear at her. Or calling and being on hold for 50 minutes just for the privlidge of asking for international roaming to be placed on phone.

Sort it out Vodafone...yes I know I can go to other providers but fingers crossed you get your house in order
