26 Mar 2012 - Update Highest Rated Pain Stories Highest Rated Gain Stories Vodafail Local Facebook Page
Dear visitor,

Since its inception Vodafail.com has made a significant contribution towards raising awareness of the problems and issues faced by Vodafone customers.

Vodafone Australia customers have had the opportunity to voice their concerns, their fears and their troubles from every corner of Australia and beyond our borders. You have gathered the courage to stand up for your rights as consumers and to make your voice heard.

Each and every person who shared their story should have a sense of pride in this achievement and the changes that have occurred since the start of Vodafail.com.

More recently, traffic to Vodafail.com has declined significantly. Having achieved the goal of raising awareness and promoting concrete action in early 2011, we have now reached the point of closing Vodafail to new complaints. The site will remain online for as long as possible as a reminder and an example of what is possible when we share our experiences.

It has been a privilege to run this initiative and I'm am forever grateful for the help and support I've received. In particular I would like to thank Melissa, David and Travis for their continued efforts over the past 15 months. I'm also thankful and humbled by the support of ACCAN, Choice magazine and a wide range of media outlets, blogs and websites.

You can still browse existing stories and find out how to file a complaint if you are experiencing problems.

Until next time,

Adam Brimo

vodafone are still advertising internet and mobile phone services/deals .... can you believe it,that is fraud they need to be shut down
16 Jan 2011 01:12:24 PM: Why? Aint they allowed to advertise!!
16 Jan 2011 01:16:57 PM: They shouldn't be allowed to advertise because they can't provide a service to their existing customers let alone signing more people up to it.
16 Jan 2011 02:41:15 PM: I agree with this poste. Sure they are allowed to advertise, but NOT when they are not able to deliver what they advertise to do. This is against the Trade Practices Act, surely...

I have been with Vodaphone for at least 10 years. I rang them in December to complain about the latest plan I had been sold, and to enquire about what they could offer me that would be be economical for my rate of calling. A Rep came to see me and I signed up for $49 per month plan which was supposed to be more suited to my needs. I received my first bill in January and saw that I was still on the old plan. I rang the rep who I had seen and he told me that I had to insert my new SIM card into my old fone, that I would be without mobile coverage for 24 hours, but that I would be on the new plan when the reception resumed. That was on Thursday, today is Sunday, and I still have no fone reception. I have tried to ring Vodaphone on numerous occasions over the past 3 days, but have been unable to get thru despite waiting on the line for in excess of 40 mins each time. On Friday I received 3 bills from Vodaphone, all with different account numbers and 1 for a phone number that I have never had. My dissatisfaction with Vodaphone knows no limits.

12745 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is terribad at 16 Jan 2011 09:44:58 AM
I have to turn my iPhone 3G on and off or switch on Airport mode then back off nearly everyday because the phone will show no signal/3G or EVEN WHEN IT DOES SHOW SIGNAL OR 3G calls wont go through or the internet will drop out. This has been going on for over a year. A lot of the times when friends are around I will compare my signal strength with their optus handsets while they get full reception and I have none. I am on the Northern Beaches of Sydney where millions of people live just north of the CBD, I'm not living in the middle of a mountain range in the middle of nowhere. This is unacceptable.

Also, whenever I try to view my usage online the website is never working.

I'm paying $79 a month + $10 insurance. Not happy.

Where do I start drop out of calls no reception and sms messages arrive up to a week later. I have just signed up to vodafone in December 2010. And have had issues with my phone since day one I am disabled so need to have a phone to be reached at all times and now I have to wait till 2012 before I can get a better phone provider cause I cant afford to break my crontact
17 Jan 2011 06:08:05 AM: Ring the ombudsman , explain your situation, they will direct you .I broke our contract after 5 days ,it was either that or go broke,Vodafone could not deliver their end of the contract, the evidence of incompetence and deception would last 5 minutes in court. I encourage everyone to LEAVE.

12742 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Very fail at 16 Jan 2011 07:31:28 AM
I joined vodafone about 10 months ago due to the great plans and promised "good quality coverage", about 4 months into my contract my calls started dropping out 3G dropped every single time and text messages were coming 2 or 3 weeks later sometimes. I contacted vodafone and was told to send my phone back after about 2 months of paying my bill with no phone to use I finally recieved a brand new iPhone 3GS saying that the problem was resolved by giving me a new phone, a week or so later, the same thing has happened till this day, I tried getting out but they would not let me without paying the remaining amount left on the contract which I do not have.

Thanks vodafone regards... >_>
16 Jan 2011 08:45:40 AM: Sounds a lot like my daughters situation. Her new contracted phone failed and her plan included UNLIMITED INTERNET ACCESS. After they flick passed her for two weeks regarding a 'Loan Phone' while her's was repaired, she was finally give an old prehistoric handset THAT DOESNT ALLOW INTERNET ACCESS. She waited 2 months for her phone back but they refuse to subsidise her for two months worth of no internet. They havent keep up there end of the contract and charge her full price for half a service. Blatant thieves as far as im concrened
16 Jan 2011 08:51:00 AM: P.S. Not to mention the two week battle for this loan phone WITH NO PHONE OR SERVICE AT ALL. It's like paying a mortgage to a builder but yr not entitled a house!!!! Oh, until they re-stand it because it fell over. CAN YOU NOT UNDERSTAND VODAFONE.

HAVE MOBILE BROADBAND SHOULD BE IMMOBILE BROADBAND, WHEN I EVER FOUND A DECENT RECEPTION SPOT I WAS TOO SCARED TO MOVE IN CASE I LOST IT. SIGNED A 2 YEAR CONTRACT CANNOT WAIT TILL APRIL 2011 WHEN IT ENDS. LAST 8 MONTHS THINK I USED IT 3 TIMES. VODAFONE YOU WILL NEVER SEE ME AGAIN
16 Jan 2011 07:58:57 AM: Story of my life
16 Jan 2011 02:48:11 PM: I feel your pain - I lose it without moving. April 2011 will be here soon. I have to wait until November. They gave me a 12 month contract after I complained about degraded network coverage on my then current three contract. They said oh move to vodafone and all your problems will be fixed. Yeah right. Now have to wait until November 2011. Lying sods!

Thank goodness that my mobile plan has ended and am just waiting for my broadband account to end. I changed to Amaysim and haven't had an issue at all. I suggest that people try out the new Amaysim, I'm very happy with it and it's much cheaper than any of the current suppliers.

Lara drives me nuts. Funny how the voice activation doesn't understand the word "suspend". You've lost me Vodafone.
16 Jan 2011 06:25:44 AM: arrr why don't you use the push button option, maybe thats where your problems are coming from, either your just not listening, or you just wanna play the victim!
16 Jan 2011 06:30:30 AM: looked a Amaysim, after super shitty with voda, it's not that great, if you have a smartphone and want to use considerable data it's actually a total rip off! the Optus $59 cap is defiantly the best at the Mo!

Amaysim would end up costing me around $140-$150 a month for the usage i come in well under on their $59 cap.

Amaysim Suck Eggs!

12727 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Broadband Account Suspension at 16 Jan 2011 05:58:09 AM
I'm going overseas for 6 months and called Vodafone to suspend my broadband account. I was told in the Vodafone store that the account can be suspended like the mobile. When I called Vodafone I was told that my broadband can't be suspended. Another money grabbing scheme. My plan expires in July and I will definitely not be renewing it. Also, I wish I could understand the guy in the Mumbai call centre as well. Goodbye Vodafone.
16 Jan 2011 06:05:28 AM: if you cant understand Mumbai call center workers your going to have stop using a mobile, all the companies use Mumbai!

Cant believe how stupid some people are here?
16 Jan 2011 06:07:00 AM: Considering that fact such a complaint could only make sense as racism!
16 Jan 2011 06:11:55 AM: I agree, companies should use English speakers for English speaking countries. It's not racism, it's about efficiency and customer service.
16 Jan 2011 06:22:34 AM: given all the examples of the sort of complaints here I would never want to work there and i don't think many would. who would wanna hear this crap, no wonder they hang up on you losers!

Suck It!
16 Jan 2011 06:23:43 AM: there is defiantly a lot of very selfish statements here
16 Jan 2011 06:50:53 AM: Good morning folks, can everyone just take a deep breath in...............hold it................breathe away.........ahhhhhhhhhhhh............that is so much better!!

Be nice to each other please...........vodafail.com.mod
16 Jan 2011 12:41:31 PM: @ 8:22:34 am - Employees of the Vodafone call centre are hired for a reason. If Vodafone lies about their excelling customer service across the media, then they have proven contrarily otherwise. Thus, we realise they cannot resolve issues with prompt and efficiency.
16 Jan 2011 12:45:12 PM: To add to above, @ 8:22:34am, perhaps before you post your ignorant and abhorrent reply, you should join Vodafone yourself and call their call centre. You'll see how ignorant Vodafone is and you'll be the one complaining here about being rejected by Lara, dropping calls, ane the thick, often hard to understand accents of some India employees.
16 Jan 2011 10:47:13 PM:
Again I say can everyone just take a deep breath in...............hold it................breathe away.........ahhhhhhhhhhhh............that is so much better!!

Be nice to each other please...........if you cannot be nice, posts will be deleted, thanks ............vodafail.com.mod
17 Jan 2011 10:59:57 AM: Im not racist at all but on occasion i have rung up and had to keep asking them to repeat themself. i dont mind, its just kinda annoying when u are frustrated enough already when ur phone and internet dont work. then to have to keep saying what. plus i feel bad saying what to them all the time. they must get frustrated to.
17 Jan 2011 11:33:37 AM: Lol, vodafail mod 'everyone please take a deep breath and ahhhhhhh so much better'. This post is a funny heated argument and breathing oxygen just adds fuel to the fire. Just kidding. :)
17 Jan 2011 02:03:07 PM: @ 17 Jan 2011 12:59:57 PM

In may respects I am similar to you as well, in that I dislike saying 'Pardon?' or 'Excuse me?' or my favourite 'I didn't quite catch that (good old Lara)'

Somehow I just find it embarrassing to the person on the other end of the phone and similarly the customer service rep must also find it difficult, after all communication is a two way street!!!

@ 17 Jan 2011 01:33:37 PM

Lol as well at your comment and thanks for making it, brightened my day!!!!

Although at times I sometimes wonder if some people are in need of oxygen..........ho hum!!! Vodafail.com mod
17 Jan 2011 07:14:22 PM: i am unemployed at the moment why cant these companies open up their own call centres in Australia....i can get a job and we dont have to argue over this and the moderator can save some oxygen....hold on did someone say Australian companies are too poor to afford a aussie call centre...Oi who said that???

Poor reception soon as I leave town, reception so bad and unpredictable that I have a telstra prepaid as a backup incase I break down. Totally hate Lara, she needs a punch in the ovaries, as a female if the human species relied on Lara to reproduce the human species would disappear. And to top it off Vodafail does not care if their network goes down for days at a time, when my contract's up I am porting my number to Telstra.

12724 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is reception at 16 Jan 2011 02:51:09 AM
Vodafone's reception failure and problems has caused me to make many calls to call back work colleagues, thus increasing my telephone usage bills. The 'coverage' is in Potts Point. My colleagues use telstra and optus, and they say that using vodafone is a mistake. I just want to leave vodafone without penalty.

My second problem was using the vodafone help numbers to establish a new vodafone internet account, ie, the dial-up broadband. I used the 'help' numbers on my mobile 'phone and was charged hundreds of dallars on top of my usual bill. They reduced by bill by $100, but it was still $180.00 more than I usually paid.

12706 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Extremely fail at 15 Jan 2011 04:52:58 PM
I was a three customer for many years and never had any reception issues. In November 2010, I went to a three store to purchase an Apple Iphone 4. I was told at the store that three handsets were out of stock and that Vodafone handsets were in stock. I was promised by store staff that Vodafone reception is excellent now due to the merger with three. Since signing up with Vodafone, I have had nothing but reception issues. A lot of the time, I can't make any calls or send sms messages and any text messages sent to me take a long time to receive. Using internet features is non-existent...I can't access any features including itunes and the appstore at anytime. I emailed Vodafone a long winded letter a few weeks ago requesting that they either terminate my contract or change me over to three (who I know have no reception issues) and they are yet to get back to me. I am regularly required to go on-call for work and the only form of contact that my work has with me is via mobile phone. I would not be surprised if work tries to contact me in the near future and the call fails to connect (which would cost me hundreds of dollars for any single call out). I continue to fulfil my contractual commitments by paying my monthly bill on time however Vodafone regularly fail to meet their end of the agreement. Why should I continue to pay for a service that is inadequate in almost every way??

Their slogan is "Power to you"...Whose got the power??

Yes I am a very frustrated customer!

I have been sending txt messages to 1512 to check my balance details (as advised by the 'lovely Lara'. I was advised by Vodafone CS that this amount was incorrect.

My billing cycle is starts on the 15th of the month, so when I checked my balance from 1512 I was very surprised to learn that I had $0 credit and an exclusion amount of $165. My phone was off for most of the day so I could check Voda's accuracy! Obviously NIL...

Has anyone else been experiencing this problem??

The customer service is ridiculous, I have had Voda CS saying they will call me back and they don't...

What a joke and I am really sick of it
15 Jan 2011 03:49:43 PM: It's me again...I also told them to remove Lara's message relating to "Just txt 1512 for a balance check"!

constantly unable to make calls with full reception. calls drop out on a daily basis. people are unable to call me when i have full reception and get a message saying my phone is switched off - it doesnt even go to v/mail. Text message that dont get delivered to recipients for days after i have sent them, I dont received text messages for days after they are sent. Blackberry constantly goes to GSM network, which means no internet connect and email doesnt get delivered. Phone constantly turns off the network reception and i have toi activate it again. Never had experienced any of these issuer with Optus.
15 Jan 2011 11:29:14 AM: This is what people are having problems with. They get some reception and the network still fails to keep the call connected or even establish a connection. There is a massive national fault with vodafone's network towers in many areas. They are taking their time auditing and fixing them.

I called up to cancel my $29.99 per month 4GB Mobile Broadband plan. Reason was because I got ADLS2+ now so I no longer needed it. I did state this but also mentioned the service was slow and dropped off a lot. The guy in the cancellation team I was talking to, in his thick Indian accent, immediately offered me 3 FREE months on the 4GB plan. I accepted and told him I would be cancelling after the 3 months anyway. He said that was fine.

Go on people, call to cancel and get FREE stuff. They know they are shit and are acting the only way they know how.
15 Jan 2011 01:36:57 AM: LMAO Vodafone offering goodies like other companies when its too late. Its like they're giving candy to a child, but we don't give a damn anymore. "Cancel" has lost its meaning amongst vodafone or maybe its missing from the Indian lexicon.
15 Jan 2011 01:40:06 AM: I bet you three months later when you call to cancel, they'll just extend your freebies again. The cycle is never ending. Vodafone is like a vacuum. You get sucked in.
15 Jan 2011 01:06:43 PM: I think I'll cancel my Ford a new Holden came out and I don't need it any more.

If you are in a contract why won't you honour it?
15 Jan 2011 01:48:16 PM: Because Vodafone is not honouring that contract as they are not providing a service that works ;)
15 Jan 2011 05:34:37 PM: omg im so sick of people saying shit like the 3rd replyer, we are stuck in contracts that we arent getting service for!!! we arnt getting what we signed the contract for, what most of us are asking for is to be able to MAKE PHONE CALLS which shouldnt be too hard as we signed a MOBILE PHONE CONTRACT. jeeeezzzzzz

12664 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is truly dying at 14 Jan 2011 06:34:12 PM
I've been a Vodafone customer for a decade. They were excellent back then. Until 3 months ago my phone has went through call dropouts and bad reception. I can't believe what people are telling me is true, that there is serious issues with the network. I thought I was alone in this problem, but this vodafail site shows I am not. I think it's time for me to switch to Telstra since my problems are not resolved by the customer support that also dropsout. Why do you customers think Vodafone's network is failing on us?
14 Jan 2011 06:48:18 PM: too greedy, selling far too many fones than the network can cope with, money they have made should have been invested in the network but those nob heads wanted to look good by showing huge proffits. should have invested in infrastructure
14 Jan 2011 07:30:39 PM: i had problems with my network about 6 months ago i couldnt get my texts or send them and if i did get them it was the next day at like 4 in the morning, so i went to my local store they said they were putting more towers in, 3 months nothing still same problem, I call up vodafone care they give me a code to put in my phone it fixed the delay but now to this day no new towers and the service has gone down hill

I have been through 3 phones on my first sim thinking it was just the phone responsible for my poor reception and sudden drop outs. I also would send text messages but would not get a reply until ages later despite full coverage. My phone would also completely ignore incoming calls! I am now on my 6th phone and 4th vodafone sim card and am still encountering the same problem. I have since joined optus. I have had problems activating my sim cards but was persistant enough to finally make my phone work. It has MUCH better coverage and I can actually use my phone for what it was intended for! Vodafone claims to have coverage for 99% of Australia, Its funny how I am always in the 1% of Australia that doesn't....

been with voda 2 years and they offered an upgrade, silly me agreed. got my new phone in mail, havent used, havent activated new sim.. changed mind due to lack of reception, poor service and long hold times.. called to canx literally when received phone (on hold for 40 mins) as assumed there was a cooling off period.. went through one dep where i explained i wanted to canx and send back phone main reason being no reception was told "well why didnt you call the network department" she then trans me through to "cancellations" where i was again on hold for about 30 mins, the rep then asked everything i had jus explained.. then said canx fee would be $1657 as there was no cooling off period

Bad reception .constant drop outs = frustration services not working, lengthy periods on hold 45m-to 1 hour .Staff arent clued in as for example Vodafone 1555 had me on the phone for two days to resolve email issues and it turned out that it was an Optus-Vodafone issue nothing to with phone meanwhile email worked 2 days before not working for nearly two months -it just worked for a week and they are down again.Vodafone reception is extremely apalling in my area there is only one area -spot it works in up the road so I have to drive to this spot every day.
I have lived in Peakhurst and Lugarno for 13 years and its bad and getting worse cant download either as the reception is shocking.
I have been with them since day 1 and have received no loyalty acknowledgement from them or help just bullshit after bullshit .I am certain they owe me $4000 in recalls etc

12626 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Significant at 14 Jan 2011 01:24:37 PM
Today i sat in Australia Square, Sydney CBD, and made ten call attempts to four different numbers. For each number I was unable to even initiate the call before it failed connection. My iphone is working fine and i had full signal. One three occasions when I successfully connected, the call dropped and i had to recall.

Over the last two weeks I've been in Lismore NSW, a major regional city which in the past had good coverage. For most of the time in Lismore and surrounds I was unable to actually connect to the network or stay connected - a significant deterioration over previous visits to the area.

12619 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Overcharged on data plan at 14 Jan 2011 12:54:59 PM
vodafone sent me a bill for around $1000 saying i've over used my data plan of 1.5 GB and have used 3GB from my phone.I've a HTC legend that came with my $49 CAP Plan. Now, i never used those data on my phone. I've got naked dsl 100GB at home, i've got internet access at work. There is no way i would used that 3GB from my phone. This is an ongoing issue since the date(nearly 4 months ago) i joined vodafone. Everymonth they keep overcharging me on my data plans. And every month call them,be on hold for hours. They keep insisting the date and time of the data usage is showing in the system. But they not willing to investigate any further, what if the system got a glitch?? i already had enough so frustrated and wish to cancel my service with them and will send the phone back.
14 Jan 2011 03:42:30 PM: If your phone is constantly connected to 3G, it's possible that if you have Android set to auto-sync as well as automatic app updates (and if it's starting up programs like the Amazon music store) that it's downloading data in the background constantly.

But even still, that should not amount to 3GB (maybe 100MB or so at most, imo).

I suggest you download a free app that tracks your data usage. I have a Nexus One and I downloaded "Network traffic counter" (made by Cyril Jacquier). It's a free app that tracks 3G data and wifi separately - it will display your usage over the past month (based on a starting date you specify) as well as the most recent 7 days and the current day.

Then you can take it Vodafone and tell them to suck it cos they're ripping you off.
14 Jan 2011 03:48:46 PM: Oh I also downloaded a free widget that disables 3G. Interestingly enough, most of the time I have 3G disabled but my calls over 2G still get spotty reception depending on where I am (still keep getting poor reception and dropped calls in my unit all of the time).

Yet when I have 3G enabled, calls won't even connect. Fail, Vodafone. Fail.

Since before Xmas I have been having issues with Vodafone. My phone was stolen and I desperate needed one so I got myself an iPhone with them. At first it was fine 3-4 bars reception no drop outs and I could still text my friends living in the USA. Then it went downhill. 1 bar of reception. I was lucky if I got 2. More often than not I have no service. I am only just now able to text to USA again yet every 5 minutes I lose reception. I'm a full time student with no income bar the measly amount I get from Centrelink and I have no way to rid myself of them for another 16 months at least. Is it so difficult to get what you pay for these days. Definately sound like vodafail to me.

I have troubles since December getting reception on my mobile around the CBD. I always wonder why so suddenly Vodafone's network becomes gradually worser over time. It's either the 3 merger or it's some unforeseen UFO with the power to mass absorb RF from Vodafone network towers across Australia causing massive interference. There goes all our communications via Vodafone.

12600 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Wireless Broadband Coverage at 14 Jan 2011 10:47:07 AM
I have recently moved to Bulli. The change of address has cost me lots of money, as I cannot upload anything for the job I am supposed to be doing.
I write articles for a news organisation.

I have a question. Is there ANY coverage in the Wooonona-Bulli-Thirroul area -- at all? It has been the same since I've moved here, six weeks ago. Connection yes and no, but mainly no. Nothing has been done since I have lived here. Any hope of a miracle?

This problem is not connected to the floods, surely!

Thanks. I'm hoping for enlightenment.

i am constantly having reception black outs on my network, extremely delayed text msg receipt and voicemail retrieval doesnt seem to be working. i have only had this issue for a few months and though it was the case that my phone was playing up when i saw the article in the paper and report on tv i knew it wasnt just me. my mobile is less then 12 months old and considering its one of the latest i phones figured finally it wasnt the issue. i have been with vodafone since day dot, literally 10 years. this month i was late in paying my bill by a few days , first instance in the duration of my loyalty with the company, i woke up went to check my emails and reply to a txt msg and noticed nothng was coming or going through. i went to use my phone to make a call and what do you know my phone is barred. this is ridiculous, after not receiving a payment of $100 odd dollars you go and cut my service? im trying to run a business and wasnt around a computer when the payment was due to transfer the money and the best thing you guys can do is cut my service? i think after this incident im going to cut my service with you and let all those years of loyalty go down the drain cos clearly it means jack all to you as it now does to me. loyalty , whats that vodafone asks themselves. its not a word i will be able to associate with this company in the future.

oh and another thing, i really appreciate my personal details being released and getting hacked to, its really great to know your happy to take our money but cant provide the service you promise and have done so in the past. whats going on in your telco?? trying to save a few dollars by cutting people off perhaps?
20 Jan 2011 12:27:38 AM: At leastyou know you've been cut off. Most of the people here also can't communicate via or with Vodafone, either, and they haven't officially been barred.
Bugger that you didn't know someone, after your long relationship with Vodafone, who could have just gone in and changed it all for you.You should consider mixing in scummier circles if you want any joy with Vodafone. Probably still won't be able to reliably use the network.

with my blackberry. Calls drop out constantly, data dropping in and out on a daily basis. everytime i call customer service (mind you takes forever to get through to a person, and they happen to be overseas and dont know what i am talking about) all they say is what area are you in? and check 'apparently' check the signal in that area. no matter how many times i say it happens all over sydney not just one specific area. then i happen to be left on hold for 15 mins, no one wants to speak to me??
same spot same time use my work phone which is optus and is crystal clear, doesnt drop out full reception.
texts delayed, blackberry messenger DELAYED. internet not reliable AT ALL. whats the point of having internet on your phone if you cannot use it??
ALSO. calling other vodafone users and saying their number is switched off,(even though when tested right next to me and apparently HAS some bars of reception) THEN TO MAKE MATTERS WORSE - trying to call voicemail and cannot get through or hear the the message clear enough... What if it were an emergency? ive had enough of Vodafone and would like to change. How did you change to another provider?

12580 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES! at 14 Jan 2011 08:50:37 AM
For the past 2 months, I have experienced countless issues with Vodafone and their VERY POOR customer service!
I have been waiting to receive my IPhone 4 upgrade for over a month now and am STILL yet to receive it. I received a phone call from Vodafone on 5/1/2011, stating that my phone and my siblings phone (who by the way, ordered her upgrade 2 weeks after me), would be delivered on 13/1/2011. I therefore, had someone stay home for the day to receive the handsets. Instead, ONLY my siblings phone was delivered.
When I called Vodafone to discuss this issue further the lady suggested that it was due to the QLD floods. She then went on to state that my sibling would have received her phone prior to mine as she ordered it in January 2011, whilst I ordered mine in December 2010! WHAT THE??? When I asked to speak with her supervisor, she HUNG UP ON ME!!!

I then had to make another 2 phone calls to vodafone (over 1.5hrs waiting time), and have been told something different by each customer service representative I have spoken with!

The customer service representatives could not care less about the issues that their customers are currently facing. Instead, they hung up on you, LIE and/or read out their 'apology and sorry for your inconvenience' blurb, and leave their customers to pick up the pieces!

Vodafone.......you should be ashamed of yourselves!

Been with Vodafone 2 1/2 years. Last year they upgraded my plan to unlimited and said i would get the new iphone (3 months late). I kept getting random charges on my bill and took them 4 months to finally sort out and they still blamed me for getting on the wrong plan even though they promised me i was on the unlimited.

to top it off even when i have full reception my phone wont call. it drops out constantly. and the worst of it is internet. it just doesnt work, its slow, theres no point calling vodafone it takes hours to get through to an idiot in india reading prompts off the screen.

I cant wait maybe 12 months or so I can finally give them the arse and switch to a real provider!
14 Jan 2011 10:18:32 AM: you can switch now. i would use the lateness of your handset, bad customer setivce experience, bad reception and wrong billing as excuses to get out of your contract otherwise tell them you're going to the TIO and if they refuse actually go to the TIO. worked perfectly for me and now i'm just on this sit helping people that want OUT!

this is just ridiculus. Now bloddy my bill comes $350. because of late uploading data used on Vodaphone system.

- Goes for long periods where I can't call out
- I work from home on my internet and mobile and my work is getting seriously affected
14 Jan 2011 05:14:57 AM: Try emailing the CEO. I did this yesterday and had 2 calls backs (one from tech support, and one from a team leader at Tech Support - unfortunately BOTH indian, but easily understandable) within 3 hours, also a follow up text message.. Seems Nigel Dews gets things happening.
But be polite and firm. I told him I wanted this sorted, or I threatened TIO intervention..

12531 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Very useless at 13 Jan 2011 08:06:41 PM
I hardly ever recieve text messages to tell me that i have a voice mail.
Vodafone must think i'm Psychic but its turning me psychotic.
(they are sometimes very important messages and people think i'm being rude when i dont call them back)
This is NOT good enough!!!!!!!!!!!
14 Jan 2011 06:07:12 AM: call 1219 from your handset. Vodafone's other best kept secret not only does it make your voicemail free but it will call YOU and play the messages!

12529 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is everywhere at 13 Jan 2011 08:00:17 PM
Hi all Vodafone has failed me in all aspect including the infamous IPHONE 4, that even worse.
I lose connectivity on the data and voice channel, the unit state your selected mobile provider is no longer available. What the hell doesd that mean ? I have never seen this on my Nokia any and all models, I used to work for Vodafail and know most of the faillings, this is a whole new range of rubbish that happening.
the the customer care staff in Bombay in Malad, (where my grandparents lived) they keep giving me the we have to do the regualr check, Reboot the phone master reset adn get a new sim card, and reset fro mhe network, all a waste of time energy and money having to go to the store back up reload and jump hopes, it would be ok if we got paid for doing this. They just have they routine directions but they dont care since they get paid to sit there and do this. if they had to compensate us by giving us $10-20 per hour they would fix the problems quick fast. ANZ bank did offer $5 if you wait more then 5 mins in line to get served and then they stopped with few weeks as they were loosing big money

After loosing too many calls i took my Iphone to the Apple centre who informed me that i had 37% of call droped. They tested the phone and found it to be ok. I bought a prepaid sim from another Telco. I then went back to Apple and they Call drops fell to only 11% ... I have now registered with law suit to get out of my contract.

After a 90min wait the numskulls at Voda provisioned my blackberry for consumer use , even though I stated the blackberry was an enterprise unit working thru the BES. The second call was over 120 min dropped out and i called agian , waited 67min before call droped. my third call lasted 73min. In fact while on hold the third time i drove to the nearest store and used thier land line while waiting on my mobile. The phone droped out and the land line continued i finlly spoke to the guy in india and agian they failed to provide the right config. Finally after another 120 min wait i got thru and got the right config ...

12520 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is More fail than the word fail was ever ment to describe. at 13 Jan 2011 06:12:46 PM
This is my Vodafone story...

I received a call from Vodafone('s computer) 2 days ago saying that 2 months of bills were overdue and they would cut me off next week if i didn't pay them. Fair enough. So i logged in to my email to see my bills, but they had not sent either of them to me. They did however send me an email that said my bills were overdue. In this email there was a link to view my bills. I clicked on the link but, of course, that just lead to an error saying they were unable to open that bill.

So, I tried logging into my MyVodafone account online. Not ever really using this before I did not know my password so I answered the secret question instead, which was my father middle name. They told me the answer to the question was wrong 3 times before they locked me out for 24hours. I know my fathers middle name.

I decided to try and call them instead, but found that even though they had told me only a few hours earlier that my service would not be cut until at least next week, they had cut my service.

I walked into a Vodafone store yesterday and asked the sales rep to bring up my bills for me. After looking at the overdue bills, I decided it was fair enough to just pay the money.

On my way home from work (before I was able to pay the bills) my phone was reconnected and a million messages came through, one from Vodafone. The message told me that for the current month (not the overdue ones) I owed almost $100 over my cap for services that the cap does not cover. I am 100% sure that I did not use any such services.

I went home and called them again from my recently usable mobile phone. After dialing 3 times to 3 different Vodafone customer service numbers which all quite literally hung up on me every time I tried to get through to a customer service representative, I was finally put on hold the forth time.

After over an hour on hold, someone finally answered. To compensate for their shitty service, he is (apparently) giving me $20 off my next phone bill - which may I add, does still not even nearly equal the amount of money they are trying to overcharge me for for my current bill.

He put me through to the billing service to assist me with my issues and told me there will be a 7-10 minute wait on hold. 2 hours later, some one finally picked up. He said that Vodafone cant even view my bills and that they have to investigate which will take up to 5 business days, however they assured me that my service would not be cut before that time and he would personally call me on the 21st of January.

Today my service was cut again...
13 Jan 2011 06:30:47 PM: Time for the TIO and contract cancellation - make sue you get your phone unlocked for free and get you phone for free to compensate for your lost time and streess

13 Jan 2011 10:57:38 PM: piper and alderman will just gut you if you win. Don't bother plus you have to prove losses not just say it is so.
14 Jan 2011 07:48:41 AM: @ 14 Jan 2011 12:57:38 AM Who cares about the money, it will only be a small amount, but it will be a wake up call for Vodafone, which is what we all want.........isn't it??
15 Jan 2011 07:40:03 AM: I agree, it is not the money, which in my case I gave more to charity in one week than the amount I'm querying. Their accounting system was stupid, inane and illogical [eg: adding a payment to the amount OWED]. Now I suspect it may have been hacked, possibly hackers using customers services. Then again it may just be SNAFU - Situation Normal All Fuc..d Up. As a logical reasonable person, the sheer stupidity dumbfounds me.
15 Jan 2011 09:30:23 AM: @ 15 Jan 2011 09:40:03 AM Could it be FUBAR as well???

12518 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is All promise-no deliver at 13 Jan 2011 06:03:16 PM
We have terrible signal at home. The only place we can get a signal is at the end of the driveway. Fat load of good that does if its raining. In the House or in the back yard, virtually nothing. Definately not good enough to call with. This doesnt happen with other carriers. Other problem is I had to go over seas for work, asked what the call rates were, then when the bill came at the end of the month the rate was almost double what i had been told. called Vodafone "customer service" and said that thats what rates were and had to pay the bill. They also called my wife 10 days into my trip (i was uncontactable for big parts of the trip)and said the system had picked up on an unusually large increase in spending on the account and had to pay at least half or they would cut the service. I had rung them though before i left to inform them of the international usage. i have been with Vodafone for a bit over ten years and its the only company i can think of that as technology gets better, the product and service gets worse

12516 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is no talk no business at 13 Jan 2011 05:19:41 PM
We'll ain't i the stupid one, i've been caught out with a double whammy. I have a vodafail phone and use the vodafail service. The phone just doesn't ring 85% of the time and nor does it divert to the message bank. Mind you I have been on the phone to them several times now about the message bank & reception issues but they keep failing me due to ????? They can't seem to tell me. I am a per-paid customer and I believe that because of that they feel quite comfortable providing me with a lower standard of the service. I have spoken to them personally about it on a few occasions. The care factor from them is NIL! I'm on the hunt for a new phone & new provider as i write the trouble is are any of them better?

I have been trying all day and have had little to no mobile Internet access on EITHER my mobile phone OR my prepaid broadband. Hopefully it will be working tomorrow...we can only hope as it seems no one in vodafone knows what they are doing. 12497 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Frustrating at 13 Jan 2011 03:14:11 PM
Phone has no reception when required. I am concerned both from my own business point of view as well as the fact that I'm pregnant and worried that should I need to use my phone in case of an emergency, there will be no reception available to make calls. Additionally, when on a call, the call would just be dropped and I am unable to call as there is no reception available. This should not happen as frequently as it has been happening!

12492 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is cheeky much at 13 Jan 2011 02:50:01 PM
In Thursday 13 january edition of Sydney Telegraph, Vodafone has taken out a full page colour ad to promote the Iphone4 on Vodafone Infinity plans.
In the tiniest print at the bottom it says, amongst other things "Service subject to device capabilities, network limitations and customer location."
I am gobsmacked that they can sell a phone product knowing full well it will be useless in many instances. Fail,Vodafone, fail fail, epic fail, I hope the wind is taken out of your sails soon.

I am on an unlimited 79 cap- All my bills are direct debited monthly to suit my work payments.. I recieved this months bill and it was $195.00!!! So slightly irate when i got home i jumped online and checked out there site, where you can log in and check out your details etc, after taking 10 minutes to load, i see they have charged me for two months! Even though my banking details are Correct. Annoyed now i decide to sleep on it and calm down and resolve the issue when I am in a have decent mood. I have found a bank statement to prove there was a payment taken out and now after two phone calls and a fax later, so far, i am still waiting to see what the issue is, and why they hadn't recieved my regular monthly payment.

I have been a Vodafone customer for over 10 years now and have a complaint about their customer service. I now no longer call them for reasons that I am sure you are all aware of.

The reason I have posted here however is to advise that they went through a period of calling me to 'see how things are going'....So I took these opportunities (about 2 over 2 years) to actually tell them. After I told them of my experiences it would be taken as a personal attack and I would then have to explain that this is not personal but I am simply responding to her request for feedback. To me, it seemed that Vodafone were not training their employees to deal with such complaints. I don't blame the call centre staff as I think that is a had job....but it's a job nonetheless and should be undertaken in a professional manner.
