Dear visitor,
Since its inception Vodafail.com has made a significant
contribution towards raising awareness of the problems and issues faced
by Vodafone customers.
Vodafone Australia customers have had the opportunity to voice their concerns, their fears and their troubles from every corner of Australia and beyond our borders.
You have gathered the courage to stand up for your rights as consumers and to make your voice heard.
Each and every person who shared their story should have a sense of pride in this achievement and the changes that have occurred since the start of Vodafail.com.
More recently, traffic to Vodafail.com has declined significantly.
Having achieved the goal of raising awareness and promoting concrete action in early 2011, we have now reached the point of closing Vodafail to new complaints.
The site will remain online for as long as possible as a
reminder and an example of what is possible when we share our experiences.
It has been a privilege to run this initiative
and I'm am forever grateful for the help and support I've received. In
particular I would like to thank Melissa, David and Travis for their
continued efforts over the past 15 months. I'm also thankful and humbled by the support of ACCAN, Choice magazine and a wide range of media outlets, blogs and websites.
You can still browse existing stories and find out how to file a complaint if you are experiencing problems.
Until next time,
Adam Brimo

Im in Baldivis and only get 1 or 2 max bars in one room of my house. Even when the phone says it's in range, I don't recieve some calls or texts! I've also been woken at 6.30am yesterday and today by texts that where sent to me the previous days. Great holiday sleep in-NOT!!! I've complained to customer care (lol) change sim cards, turn ph on/off nothing works. Can't wait until september 2011.
5469 Someone from WA thinks vodafone is coverage and drop-outs and no service and message bank failures and total coverage collapse for 12hrs and so on and so on.. the only thing relable from them is the bill! at 27 Dec 2010 10:19:42 PM
Clients, builders and our own sub-contractors are continually complaining about not getting through to us when we are INSide 10km radius of the city. Very unprofessional for us!
5458 Someone from WA thinks vodafone is getting worse at 27 Dec 2010 10:15:54 PM
I started off with Vodafone 10odd years ago and was always extremely happy with their service, as well as customer service. I got the mobile broadband when that came out due to needing to travel with work- 2gig a month costing $70. Was happy to pay as I didn't need to much- and the freedom of wireless internet was what I needed. I was told it would be 3G coverage within a month. 18months of constant calls with them, due to receiving internet speeds of 5kb/sec on a good day the speeds finally came up to a more desirable speed. Not once did I receive accurate information from them on when the speeds would come up- nor any compensation for only receiving 1/4 of what I was paying for. Couldn't do anything as I was on a 2year contract....
In the last year- mobile coverage has also been terrible from home. Despite being 1km away from the nearest station and being well inside their "3G" coverage zone. Dropouts would occur every call, even with 4 bars signal still showing.
I recently moved and was moving into an area that would have no signal- so contacted them to see what I could do with my contract which still had time left. Bouncing around 5 different "service" centers, and over an hour on the phone I was told there was no option but to stay on the contract or cancel it. Despite bringing up the terrible service over the past year, and my 10years loyalty with them did nothing so I told them to stick it and begrudgingly paid the $1000+ to rid myself of them for ever.
The last year I know of a good dozen or so with the same stories, and this site shows the scale of it. Good to see something to stick it to them with!

All calls made or received constantly disconnected after 6 to 8 mins! Also call reception fades in and out regularly. Not a happy customer.
5450 Someone from WA thinks vodafone is Big Fail! at 27 Dec 2010 10:14:48 PM
I am with 3 now merged with Vodafone.
Hugely unimpressed with the fact we used to roamunder Telstra and since being bought out by Vodafone, me and my partner may aswell have no reception!
First of all, we weren't even informed there would be a merger, because if we were I sure wouldn't have had renewed my contract only weeks before it took place!
When i went into a store to ask about another new phone to replace the new one i had just got, i was met with "Oh it isprobably because of the merge to Vodafone....Oh, i wasn't meant to tell you that". Nice, the long trem customers weren't even kept in the loop, nor given the choice to leave at end of contract.
Secondly we have called 3/Vodafone and complained to some overseas, non-fluent english speaking person who didn't even understand us, to be told our reception is fine and also got quite angry towards my husband, nice customer service! And I'm sure they can really tell from looking at a computer that we have good or bad reception.
The phone had dropped out numerous times before my husband could even get that far as to speak to a real person.
I sure hope we can all just get some sort of service with this distorted company.

5440 Someone from WA thinks vodafone is poor coverage at 27 Dec 2010 10:12:10 PM
We are with 3, which I believe is now owned by Voda??? and the persistent problem is the total lack of coverage outside metro Perth. We are redirected to roaming via telstra G3 at high charge rate which all fails just outside town. So no contact throughout the most of WA. We have a prepaid telstra NextG phone which is much better. Try to get an answer from 3 or Voda and good luck. Its a problem just understanding the ESL operators and then we are treated like Kindy Kids. Fed up with second rate treatment - you bet

5408 Someone from WA thinks vodafone is Internet Performance at 27 Dec 2010 09:59:49 PM
For me, Internet has not lived up to expectations over past 12 months. In particular, the last month it has been operating at dial-up speeds after dropping out numerous times even though I live in Perth CBD. Also, my partner is New York with me at the moment and due to a technical glich when recharging online, the vodafone call centre says they are "too busy" and won't get back to her for a couple of days which is very poor.
5392 Someone from WA thinks vodafone is retarded at 27 Dec 2010 09:55:40 PM
I bought a new phone from the voa phone store in Perth CBD. They sold me the phone gave me the box. I went home opened my new phone to realise they cave me NO BATTERY. no spare and not even a original. I went the next day to show them and the young girl looked at me as if I had hidden it. They did not help at all. 6 weeks later I got a call apologising for there mistake and that "we founf the batterey" Why was it not in the sealed box in the 1st place. FUCKING MENTAL
5382 Someone from WA thinks vodafone is 100% at 27 Dec 2010 09:54:02 PM
lately vodafone sucks! I used to think they were great. I am waiting on a pic msg after i know it was sent nearly 10 mins ago, sometimes i get them 5 or more hrs later. Signal cutting out all of the time, depending on where in a house or yard i am. Rang customer care on tuesday and 2 times after being on hold for 40 mins was cut off, then after another 20 with another call, i hung up, all the time a recorded msg telling me my call would be answered right away.. Not happy

I had changed my number to a new vodafone number, and my sister who is a vodafone customer has been charged calling me, i thought v2v had been free for years, they said it was because of the buddy system that she had set up on my old number, and she was told the unlimited phone calls between vodafone to vodafone was only on the new contract that have come out, and existing customers have to upgrade to the new plans, they dont get notified of the neww plans unless they listen to radio advertisements and ads on the tv, has anyone else had these problems?

The wife and I hooked up with Vodafone on a 2 year cap contract(handsets included) Hers a Nokia N95 mine a N86 both no reception inside our house. Many phone calls later they said they would 'tweak' the tower N86 improved by 1 bar N95 no change, more calls followed and the outcome was the N95 was not compatable to our area (20 mins from freo) Swapped to a N96 and now can use it on the front lawn. Have to select GSM rather than use 3G for both phones to work....We want out now but end of CONtract August....Help!

Seems like the same problems all over WA. I too have had the same problems. I have emailed Vodafone and they informed me that they have had issues and they are now fixed. I told them that i want to be released from my contract as they have not held up there part of the contract. All i got is they want me to contact their customer service and discuss it with some stooge in another country. I told them hell no and to cancel my contract. Now i must pay the remainder of my contract to be let out. I told them that is rubbish and to call me. That was 5 days ago.
Im sick of having that stupid message pop up, only 1 bar of service in full coverage area's and my phone taking way to long to load pages/updates.

We signed with vodafone about 3yrs ago for mobile usb internet. Our first contract modem didnt work after 12 months which was not within our 12month warrenty so to have internet we were adviced to resign to get a new modem otherwise there was nothing else they could do. so we did now with the next modem we have had to get a new one on warrenty because it was not working either. we got the new modem about 1 week ago now it is still doing the same thing it will connect then will let u browse but then all of a sudden will drop out and we have no coverage so have to disconnect and reconnect for it to work. it is sooooooooooooooo stupid i hate it we pay to use it and it doesnt work!!! every night for as long as i can remember now i will have to connect and reconnect about 3-5 to actually use my internet, some times it doesnt even let me connect it wont give me the option. we live in mandurah and we only get 2 bars of reception and thats not even 3G its crazy!! y should we have to pay for something and not be able to use it. we have a contract for INTERNET USE and we CAN NOT USE IT!!! how is that right??? we will NEVA resign with them again....

I an constantly plagued with the message Network Lost You selected cellular is no longer available please select another "yer right". I went into one of the shops and they said because the 3G is multitasking if you have too many apps open this upsets the signal. I want to exit the plan but because I have 10 months to go it will cost me $690 to do so, I have just emailed "them" to see if I can get out early so I will see what happens.

5329 Someone from WA thinks vodafone is Greedy Fail at 27 Dec 2010 09:34:59 PM
Have been a VF customer (prepaid)for 7yrs, moved to post paid(contract) and have poor quality of service by means of extended wait times of each call to VF (45+mins) which is a cost to me.
specific issues:
1. Poor reception in areas that are advertised by VF as standard coverage.
further resulting in sporadic loss of signal and no network coverage.
recently had death in family and I could not reliably contact or be contacted by members of family and friends due to poor network issues, even when VF has advertised on their coverage maps that the area has standard coverage.
2. over 3 hours down time trying to contact staff at VF to resolve issues.
3. upon receiving my contracted handset, there was no documentation about the contract, I was unable to use the phone for many days even though it was reported on the box the sim was in that it was already activated. rang the TIO after spending many days trying to contact VF, it took 1week for VF to contact me.
4. Billing anomalies such as some service I have never requested.
I want to drop VF as my carrier and may do so, through due legal process as i think they have voided their contract of service to me with false advertisement on network coverage.
It is greed that fuels VF machine of industry, such a shame that the course of events such as AU government selling of tel$tra forces some citizens out of necessity (pure cost factor) to do business with Telco not australian.

I regret signing to vodafone, i worked for optus and was a customer for years then decided to change and try vodafone, never had so many issues !! i have an iphone so i related half of the problems to that but the data issues and coverage is 100% vodafones fault, now when i sell phones at work i let the customers know how shit vodafone is. :) only 18months left of my contract and im FREE !!!!!!
5286 Someone from WA thinks vodafone is it is fail at 27 Dec 2010 09:21:06 PM
the plan im on is supposed to have unlimited texts, however almost 100% of the time they fail to send, and you have too switch your phone and off and back on just for it to barely work for maybe another 5 minutes. Cant even remember the mobile internet worked.
Also outgoing calls and incoming calls are complete shit. Cant make any outgoing calls, and ive tryed calling my own number a few times just to test, which goes straight to voicemail. even though the my phones on!! worst of all cant even call voicemail to check these either.
Tryed calling them a few times, and after about an hour and a half of waiting. I actually got a person!! who promptly told me that she needed to transfer me too another department. however by other department, she transferred me back to the general inquiry number to wait in line for another 2 hours...
Phone died before i even got to speak to anyone.

I signed up through the NRMA offer to have first 3 months free but this has been charged.
I am constantly having issues connecting to the internet to get apps for my flashy new Samsung Galaxy S. Also people say they can't get through to me when making calls.
I would like to exit and just pay off the phone at the discounted price.

Joined Vodafone in July. Suddenly my mobile phones (3) became 'sometimes' phones.
Multiple phone calls on a daily basis drop out.
Calls that do connect and stay connected are noisy and crackly and only rarely clear.
Incoming phone calls go straight to voicemail multiple times per day.
Voicemail notifications frequently hours, sometimes an entire day later rather than the expected minutes / seconds.
Data connection failures on a weekly basis. Not quite so frequent as call drop outs but still frustrating when the service is being paid for.
I was with Vodafone 10 years ago for a couple of years and they were fabulous back then! What happened???
Thank you for speaking out about this. None of my friends are with Vodafone (smart huh!!) so I had no comparison feedback.
Cheers

After my mother purchased an iPhone 4 for me about a month ago , I have had messages that take a day to come through, reception drop outs in suburban areas of Perth. The reception is no where as good as Vodafone make it out to be, and I am wishing that I stayed with Telstra, but I am on a 24 month contract so I have to stay with them and put up with their crappy service.

I ported out of Vodafone to Optus, so the moment my number ported, i couldnt sign into the website to get my payout figure (of course) because my number is no longer with Vodafone. My bills are sent to me via email.
A month later I recive a debt collectors notice, right ok, no bill at all before this.
SO of course i call vodafone and i explain whats happened, they reply oh well thats no problem sign into your account on the website and get your payout figure. uh WTF, so after asking for them to mail me out a copy of my bill they reply oh no we cant do that, you have Email only requested.
UM SEND ME A BILL idiots. It took a month but but got the bill finally.

Live in Perth - several places in the metro area do not have coverage, including friends' houses. I don't mind if remote country areas have bad coverage, but anybody would think that a metro area and and area shown with coverage in their maps should have at least a signal! Called Vodafone about problem, waited 2.5 hours, and was passed between 4 different customer service officers. They refused to allow me to cancel my contract. They merely moved me to a lower plan, saying that they would not allow me to exit my contract freely, because my house had coverage. That's ludicrous - a mobile phone should be able to be used anywhere where coverage has been shown!
5065 Someone from WA thinks vodafone is frustrating beyond words at 27 Dec 2010 08:15:34 PM
i have been using vodafone mobile since i arrived in australia 3 years ago, the first two were on contract...except, i had continually dropped offline, once my contract was up i went to prepay (you'd think i would have learnt by now huh)...only to find vodafone were still charging me for a service i wasn't using or satisfied with, tried to contact them to express my disgust..guess what...that was a no go too...Lara irks me something chronic to say the least, short of throwing my phone against a brick wall repeatedly, i finally get thru only to be frustrated even more by the human i speak with. Aaarrrgghh, quite often you will see an occassional status update from me regarding vodafone to get their sh*t together. thanks for the opportunity to vent.

Also I could never send picture messages in my own house, they just wouldn't send which was so frustrating as I love to just take a quick pic of silly things, like what I'm eating, wearing, doing etc and to not be able to send them right there and then was extremely painful !!!

Vodafone doesn't seem to calculate its customers' phone bill. If you are a vodafone customers, check your phone bill carefully. I know few people (including myself) who received a miscalculated phone bill. I spent about 1 hour to talk to Vodafone and had to argue over 30 minutes. They admitted that it was their fault but they sent me an SMS again that I have to pay miscalculated amount. I had to wait another 45 minutes to talk to Vodafone. This is my bad experience with Vodafone on top of poor quality of phone reception. I switched from Optus to Vodafone because they promised that they will provide a high quality phone receptions/signal.

I just received my bill from Vodafone for my early termination fee, is there somehow I can go about disputing the early termination fee as I heard on the news that Vodafone customers were being able to walk away from their contract free of charge.

I have been getting my voicemails a day late since June 2009. Lucky they weren't and aren't real important messages. Also while living in St Kilda, Melbourne, a friend of mine who lived a kilometre away sent 3 texts to me on a saturday afternoon which I got the next morning.
Now living in the outer suburbs of Perth, Mandurah, and the coverage is PATHETIC!
Got a new Samsung Tablet with them as well, D'Oh! Well trying to get the sim activated was a nightmare. After 6 phone calls over 48 hours it finally got activated.

Having had so many issues similiar to those already mentioned, I ported my number to another provider - called and said I could no longer receive my bill electronically as my number no longer existed in the system and that I would need a manual bill. Three phone calls later and all those wonderful explainations and 'yes we will put that in the system for you' later, I receive a letter from their debt collection office, telling me that due to my ignornance of all correspondence they were issueing me with a 72 hour demand notice. Needless to say, after more inconclusive phone calls and emails to Vodafone, no resolution, apology, or any satisfaction - I received another bill and another debt collection notice to finalise my account - that I had already finalised. Much happier with my new provider!!
27 Dec 2010 08:11:58 PM: yup thats another thing they keep sending me texts saying that my bill is avail but if I dont switch to online billing I'll be charged and to call a number. 4994 Someone from WA thinks vodafone is a MAJOR fail at 27 Dec 2010 07:59:07 PM
My house, situated on top of a hill, is quite close to the nearest vodafone tower, so it would be logical to think that reception would be adequate, if not good? Especially when the vodafone site itself says that the area has good reception.
Big mistake.
Since the day I got my prepaid mobile broadband USB about a year ago, the coverage has been terrible, the reception is low quality and constantly drops out. Not to mention the fact that sometimes the USB decides that, even though it apparently has coverage, it doesn't actually want to connect to the internet.
Also, it doesn't work at all in half of the house and magically works if i hold it a foot in the air, rather than being on something the height of say, a desk.

Came across from Telstra after being with them for so long. Wanted a better coverage and this was a strong selling point. Was told by the agent that "Vodaphone cover 97% of the state and are currently working on getting the other 3%". The coverage now is worse. It doesn't even work in the hills. Will be going back to Telstra, only for the coverage!!!!

Hello all, 7 day ago i signed up on the $69 cap. This is used for my business.
Fortunately i didn't open the iPhone 4 they sent me. After being on hold for over an hour i finally got to speak to someone. After numerous transfers and , i made it clear that the service is not up to the required standard and that my business had suffered as a result of the continual drop out and bad reception issues. Initially they wanted a cancellation fee, but becuase i didn't open the box to the phone and because of my persistence, they said they will cancel the contract as soon as i drop the phone off to Australia Post.
Bootom line, their reception sucks and so do their internet services.
Also today i signed up on Telstra's $129 Cap. I have wireless with Telstra which is as fast as broadband and it never cuts out, also i don't get charged for excessive useage and have never had one problem with them. Telstra's reception is the best in the country. Telstra's prices have also come down alot and it is now time jump on board. It is not worth the money you think you save with vodafone when the reliability just isn't there! Another disgruntled EX VODAFONE CUSTOMER! Your VODAFAIL website inspired me and i thank you for taking action! TELSTRA all the way!!!!!

I have 6 months left on my plan I will be signing with a new service provider for sure. In recent times I have had dropped out calls, no reception in places I have had reception before. My biggest complaint is if you do not hold up to your end of the contract you are still expected to pay however it is fine for vodafone to contiuosly provide poor service and get away with it........

I recently wanted to upgrade my contract to get a new phone only to discover that I could not upgrade it in store - only by calling customer service. I called on a Monday and was on hold for 1.5 hours with no success. At one point they had called me back only to put me onto someone who could not do/handle what I needed and then put me on hold again. I had to work and so called after work on the same day only to be put on hold again.
I then tried again the next day, put on hold once again and finally got through, again to be put through to the wrong person, being put on hold AGAIN.
Internet access is constantly limited and inconsistent.
Not a happy customer!

Since May 2010, exprecing no network connectivity, dropping/disconnecting connection automatically. had spoken many time with customer service, no desired result and improvment of connection connectivity.
I m regretting to have this vodafone connection and will never ever recommend to any of my relatives/friends etc.
As i cought with 12 monhs lockup plan. and wishes i can switch the connection with other vendors.
However sales person sells the connection and service with confirdance of high standard coverage/connectivity in Perth city. but it is worst than subarb areas.
Just living in city of Perth has 1 bar connectivity and even drops in a minute. DISAPPOINTED.
Got 6 GB plan for my use and hardly able to use even 15% of it in a months becuase of connectivity.
I will be happy to returns this ervices with immidiate effect...
recently looking on bill wrongly posted of $1400 ??? into my account where as i have only $39 (6GB) plan. how bad are no reliability..

We have just spent two weeks in Busselton, WA (including Christmas) and Vodafone coverage was absolutely disgusting. We were unable to stay logged on to the Internet, with the connection dropping in and out every couple of minutes. It was impossible to send or receive our emails, which meant a great amount of extra costs involving telephone calls instead of emails. We had similar experience in Busselton late November, but this last episode was way beyond funny! People staying with us who were on another Network had no trouble at all. Vodafone definitey needs a shake-up and we hope your action can accomplish this. Thank you. Fred & Pauline

Missed calls, voice messages come through 5-6 hrs after they have been left, don't receive text messages, only way can use data is to connect to telstra home wifi, has to get a pre paid telstra card for when I am on call at work, missed free front row U2 tickets because the person calling me couldn't get through, have spent 4hrs on hold, done everything the technicians asked, lodged a complaint still no answer.

Four Vodafone customers in the one house. One being a child with a chronic illness. SMS not delivered, the ones that are delivered can take five hours to pass from one room to another. No reception for calls and drop out all the time. New upgrade of software for phone means battery lasts less than a day and unable to switch off background apps which is now costing extra money. Only Vodafone benefits.

I have the iPhone 4 and are paying 88 dollars a month, when vodaphone screwed up on that Saturday, and vodafone texted me saying that followig Saturday is on us! what happens I go 110 dollars over my bill, not only that when I make any calls, or texts they fail or it takes me at least a miniute or so for my phone to start to hear the dial tone. vodafone has completely screwed themselves, also does any one else who has the iPhone 4 I always seem to get this little dialog box saying ' your selected network has failed please select another network in settings' something like that! it no joke pops up on my phone whenever I try to make a call or check my phone! it's so annoying! I'm so sick of it and the worst part about it, is the fact that I'm stuck with vodafone for the next 22 months :/
4875 Someone from WA thinks vodafone is It's not at 27 Dec 2010 07:30:06 PM
I personally think you all need to grow up. I live in a house of 4, where all of us are with Vodafone, we never ever have any dramas apart from that Saturday a couple of weeks ago where the network was down for 2 1/2 hours. Vodafone's coverage is not the best, hence why they are currently upgrading all there towers and extending there network. You can't expect the coverage to be perfectly fine when they are trying to make the network better for YOU customers. I used to work for a different telco company a year ago, the amount of clueless customers that came into our store and complained there phone "didn't" work was unbelievable. However, most of those customers had no idea how to use there handset, when all they needed to do was possibly turn the phone off and pull the sim card out and restart the phone. Mobile phones these days are technically advanced they are almost like computers, try leaving your computer on continuously for days at a time and then see how it functions. Restarting phones every so often can do them wonders, I think half the reason you guys are complaining is because you don't know how to work your handset. Quit wingeing, if your not happy with the service you get from Vodafone move on to a different provider at the end of your contract, I can almost assure you that you will have dramas with other providers too. Vodafone are the worlds largest network, and they know what they are doing. Please, move onto a network like Telstra and see what kind of service you get with them.
27 Dec 2010 07:35:04 PM: Thank you for that ramble, Vodafone employee.

For the record, I recently switched from Vodafone to Telstra. Telstra is amazing. I truly understand now what it means to have a smartphone. I am so happy I left that substandard, failed company.
27 Dec 2010 07:46:54 PM: Obviously a Vodafone employee!! Dumbass, their customer service is the most pathetic part of the company. The customer service I recieved was horrid. My phone would not make or recieve calls for days at a time, and if I did get through would cut out. You try sitting on hold every day for a few hours and see how it fucks up your day. You are a moron for writing on this site. This site is clearly for ppl who are pissed off wirh Vodafone, not do-gooders who want to stand up for them.
27 Dec 2010 08:23:38 PM: Just reading your comments explains to me you know nothing about mobile phones or computers. My mobile and computers are on 24/7. Its people like you that try to distort, manipulate and capitalise to your advantage at the expense of hard working Australians who only want what they pay for. Is that hard to do????? It is time for you to realise people are just getting sick and tired of telco's who do not provide the service. People are banding together because they have the power as a group to say "NO MORE" you are now accountable so do it right or else you have to answer the questions as to why is this happening. As for TELSTRA, I have just moved all my business and private phones to them (after 20 years) because they simply are the best in what they do. Yes, customer service and technical proficiency. Maybe as you put it "Vodafone, the worlds largest network" needs to get their learning cap on and take a few notes. The more comments you make, the deeper you sink into the Vodafone brainwashing black hole.
27 Dec 2010 08:23:54 PM: so, you think we "ALL need to grow up??" so everyone posting on this site and everyone losing business all over australia from dropped calls and lost text messages is an idiot who cant use their phone? I dont think so!!
28 Dec 2010 07:26:21 AM: You're entitled to your opinion, but it's wrong. In my line of work, coworkers use their phones constantly throughout the day. Im the only Vodafone user and also the only person who has calls drop out, no reception etc etc. I can't remember the last time I saw anyone else remove their sim card just to make a call, that's just f*#cking ridiculous.

It took me 2 hrs finally spoke to an operator that can help & call drop off. I call again & after almost 6 hrs in total that it was found that vodafone issued the phone no to the broadband sim& broadband no to my phone sim! Also in the past 3 weeks there were 3 times that they lost signal totally. It happened today 27 dec 10 around 11ish, there is no service at all! Vodafone is not reliable at all.

i am just sick of getting messages up to four hours after they were sent and never having an internet connection. All I want is to have my plan cancelled free of charge so i can sign up with a more reliable service provider!!!
4862 Someone from WA thinks vodafone is not the best! at 27 Dec 2010 07:26:53 PM
Our son was contacted by someone and signed up for a contract (even though the original account was in my name) He had just turned 18, so he signed up for a 24 month contract. Unfortuantely he has not been getting the best reception, same issues, drop out of calls, no signal/ coverage.... so he complained, was told that he could not get out of the contract he would have to pay 800+ costs, and he had to go to Telstra to get the reception he needs to have coverage.... Not good enough!! 1st he should not have been approached and allowed to take a contract on a number that was mine, and also if reception/ coverage is not good enouth, they should not be allowed to penalise you for changing carriers/ contracts.

UNSATISFIED VODAFONE CUSTOMER 7 YEARS.
4851 Someone from WA thinks vodafone is MAJOR FAIL at 27 Dec 2010 07:25:30 PM
I have a mobile phone plan and wireless internet plan with vodafone as I prefer vodafone over telstra. Not long after starting my phone plan I started getting connection errors several times a night, which did not allow me to send/receive messages or calls. After the network went down everything seemed to go back to normal and the connection errors dissappeared. A week later and I find my phone cutting out and disconnecting 4-5 minutes into each phone call i make and receive. This means I am calling someone at least 7-8 times just to have a proper conversation with them and it is very frustrating. As for my wireless internet, it usually seems find but at least once or twice a day it will not allow me to connect and comes up with an error of some sort. I either have to close the application and reboot it or reboot my whole laptop just so I can get on the net. This also is very frustrating. If there wasn't such a large amount of money to pay for exiting your contract with them, I would be out as fast as I can. Vodafone need to sort these problems out and find a way to reward all their customers to say sorry for all these problems that are occuring - and I don't mean just 24 hours worth of free calls on them, I mean something that will convince all their customers to stay with them and not choose better, if they really care.

Purchased a 2 year plan with Vodafone after checking their coverage area on the internet. I now have a phone that only has reception in one part of one room in the house and sometimes in the garden. After ringing Vodaphone about this problem they advised me that their coverage area was only for outside (not inside buildings). They asked me how many bars I had displayed on my reception meter on the phnoe. I was making the call from outside and indicated that at the moment I had one bar. They responded by saying that one bar is sufficient to make and recieve calls. Problem fixed
4837 Someone from WA thinks vodafone is No reception & poor service at 27 Dec 2010 07:23:15 PM
I have been with vodafone for a few years and was ok until the last couple of months where I started to get call drop outs and an inability to access my data. Trying to contact vodafone for a resolution is just ridiculous, after trying to call and being told there was a wait time of an hour I used their email complaints facility and though they say that you must respond within 120 or they close the job apparently they have no such time restraint, and when finally I had a response I was told to give 3 calls that dropout within the last 72 hours I said I couldn't since I had started to use my work phone (optus) as it was more reliable. I have contacted the TIO and am still waiting for a resolution. Don't call them for advice either, you'll be transferred between departments all of which want to blame your phone, and tell you that the reception in your area should be ok - well its not, hence the reason for my call!!! Still cannot believe that they pride themselves on their service, I would hate to see how they viewed bad service.
4836 Someone from WA thinks vodafone is Extreme Fail! at 27 Dec 2010 07:23:06 PM
My signal keeps dropping out and has done for weeks! I rely on my phone to communicate with my teenage daughter (also Vodafone) - It's just not good enough - the world is not safe to let your kids go with no means of contacting them - VERY ANGRY!! Tried to call customer services and was cut off after 20 mins on hold :-/
4835 Someone from WA thinks vodafone is Shocking!!! at 27 Dec 2010 07:23:05 PM
Everyday i have to restart or reset my iphone because the signal drops out, on a Saturday i didn't have any service for the entire day! Christmas day also didn't have any service...very annoying and not impressed!
4832 Someone from WA thinks vodafone is Below average at 27 Dec 2010 07:22:55 PM
My husband is with telstra and he rarely has reception problems. Me on the other hand is constantly left without reception both in the metro area and regional area (my phone is pretty much useless out of Perth metro!). We saw Bon Jovi at Subiaco in early December and neither my sister in law (also with vodafone) had ANY reception for almost the entire concert! One of the biggest business districts out of the CBD and we have no reception for 2 hours. Just not acceptable.
4827 Someone from WA thinks vodafone is Megafail at 27 Dec 2010 07:21:59 PM
I am a happy 3 customer after being a very unhappy vodafone customer for too many years, so I am now dreading the 3, vodafone merge. Messages not delivered, unbelievable waiting times for what they call "customer service" and actually speaking to a real person, pfft! In the end, after my son was told the recharge he was trying to use, had already been used, i ended up also switching him to another provider, $29 down the drain. This site is a godsend, I've vented to so many people its not funny! I would like to see them go down, and 3! what are you thinking with this merge??
4824 Someone from WA thinks vodafone is MEGA FAIL at 27 Dec 2010 07:21:40 PM
On December 18 i sent several messages and the recipient DID NOT receive the messages until the following TUESDAY!!!! My phone calls constantly drop out, even in coverage!! My phone shows there is coverage yet I cant send texts or access the net when im at concerts or ovals!!!! AND you cant EVER ring Vodafone coz you NEVER get to SPEAK TO ANYONE!!!!! CRAP SERVICE!!!
4823 Someone from WA thinks vodafone is ICE AGE at 27 Dec 2010 07:21:15 PM
Can get network 20km from the CBD, can't make any calls and am receiving my txts after 24hrs. I feel like i belong in the ice age. Its a big shame for a giant company like vodafone to be this lazy and disappointing.I come from a third world country but at least they have networks that work and definately better networks than Vodafone.
4820 Someone from WA thinks vodafone is WORSE THAN 3!! at 27 Dec 2010 07:20:45 PM
I was with Vodafone for about 6 months with a prepaid mobile. I discovered the network coverage was worse than 3! I switched to Virgin and am very happy with my service now. I ALWAYS have coverage no matter where I am in Perth and it's suburbs. I will never go back to Vodafone as they wasted my time and money. For all of you who are stuck in a contract with Vodafone I feel your pain. It was just as frustrating and upsetting when I was stuck in a contract with 3 but could not call anyone and/or my sms's would take 3 hours or more to reach it's destination. Vodafone had better step up, take responsibility and not only fix all it's network issues, but compensate the people who are currently with their network or I can see a LOT of people walking away from their company altogether.

Vodafone have failed many times with call drop outs, late text message delivery, no internet conection. Long waits to get through to customer service I rang 3 times the other day on hold for 25 mins each time only to be hung up on 3 times then the laugage barrier with staff. Terrible service and I am one hundred percent over it.

Tried to make a call today but no reception. Then saw I had one bar so made call to Foxtel when my Foxtel went down. (Couldn't use landline as that needed to be kept clear for Foxtel tech). Calls dropped out on numerous occasions and then there was no coverage again. Cost me a great deal in calls and FRUSTRATION (if you've ever called Foxtel you'll know what I mean). Had no idea this was happening Aust wide when I took out 2 year plan for my new phone last month. I want out of my contract.

4811 Someone from WA thinks vodafone is a total waste of my time and money at 27 Dec 2010 07:18:43 PM
I was living in an area in the Northern Suburbs where is was not possible to have broadband internet connected via the phone line. I chose vodafone mobile broadband as their plans were the most suitable and affordable for my needs. I would have been better off with a dial-up service. At first I thought it was my old laptop which was the problem, but after upgrading to a top of the range new laptop, the problems with reception and connection speed persisted. i have now discontinued my pre-paid mobile broadband plan and have taken up with Vivid Wireless. I just wish Vivid Wireless was available when I first looked at mobile services.
Don't waste your time with Vodafone mobile broadband. There are much better options out there.
