Dear visitor,
Since its inception Vodafail.com has made a significant
contribution towards raising awareness of the problems and issues faced
by Vodafone customers.
Vodafone Australia customers have had the opportunity to voice their concerns, their fears and their troubles from every corner of Australia and beyond our borders.
You have gathered the courage to stand up for your rights as consumers and to make your voice heard.
Each and every person who shared their story should have a sense of pride in this achievement and the changes that have occurred since the start of Vodafail.com.
More recently, traffic to Vodafail.com has declined significantly.
Having achieved the goal of raising awareness and promoting concrete action in early 2011, we have now reached the point of closing Vodafail to new complaints.
The site will remain online for as long as possible as a
reminder and an example of what is possible when we share our experiences.
It has been a privilege to run this initiative
and I'm am forever grateful for the help and support I've received. In
particular I would like to thank Melissa, David and Travis for their
continued efforts over the past 15 months. I'm also thankful and humbled by the support of ACCAN, Choice magazine and a wide range of media outlets, blogs and websites.
You can still browse existing stories and find out how to file a complaint if you are experiencing problems.
Until next time,
Adam Brimo

4483 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Intermittent reception at 27 Dec 2010 06:14:06 PM
Visited Blackburn Victoria recently, no reception. Went to Vodafone shop, they changed my SIM but no help. I live at Buderim in Qld, no reception in King Street, one of the main streets. Reception is sketchy to say the least.

I am a pre-paid customer and everytime I run out of credit, if I am not aware of it and I send a message, Vodafone send me a message saying INSUFFICIENT FUND...once is ok.. twice..yeah alright..BUT NOT 189 times. they tried saying it was my phone so i bought a new one. than it kept happening, then they said it was a setting in my phone where the message will store itself and keep trying to send..BUT that was not correct either. I have called them that many times. ONCE i was given 20 free text messages. all other times I have been called a liar. I have spent hours and hours on the phone to them trying to get my account sorted... NOW I used to work for a compant that sold VODAFONE contracts so I know a FAIR bit about their systems and their contracts and they are FLAWED FLAWED FLAWED and believe that the customer is there to rip you off so you must be on to it ang give them nothing but jargon their policys and what not... SO MEGA MEGA FAIL

Trying to cancel a years internt contract so that it does not roll onto a month by month basis. Impossible, after trying to get through I got disconnected (several times), then I have mailed them on 3 occasions, first I got a reply back stating "sorry we have not had a chance to look at your issue, please bear with us for another 48 hours", well that was 4 weeks ago now, since then I have been into their store and been told that I need to phone their customer service line because there is nothing they can do, even though they were speaking to a vodafone representative on at the other end, no apprently ring them a few days before the contract is up and they should be able to cancel it, and then I would only be charged pro rata !!!!!
I am disgusted, and will also be cancelling (if I can) my mobile contract when it is up for renewal shortly.
Vodafone should try a page out of Crazy John's book, their customer service is not only exsisting but absolutely brillian and most def a can do attitude.

I have tried many times to update my card details. The automated system just boots me off after presenting me with no useful options saying "sorry I can't understand you, you'll have to call back." At least some automated systems connect you to an operator if there is an issue. To just disconnect your customers is pathetic customer service. I have also tried waiting in the queue but so far haven't been able to get through to a human being.

Mobile broadband runs at a snails pace. Phone drop outs. Network busy when friends are not on phone and phone is on with good reception. Cant use my phone every couple of months when on holidays in central Qld, not even text mesages. not to mention the customer service how do you get help when you cant understand a word they say and they cant understand you?
28 Dec 2010 12:31:45 AM: I;m an Idependent ACN Representative,I understand how everyone are totally dissatisfied with the Vodaphone phone, internet and customer service qualities. Our ACN customer services are incredible. You can reach them less than 10 mins pratically everytime. They are fast and effiecient and never transfer your call unlike Telstra or Optus as I heard, If you want to know more about us, contact me in my email at cengiz@acnrep.com I loves to turn UNHAPPY customer to HAPPY customer.

4474 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is VERY DISAPPOINTING at 27 Dec 2010 06:13:08 PM
I bought Vodafone mobile broadband a few months ago after checking on the web for coverage, It showed as excellant coverage in my area, even asking the staff instore and they said the same thing, as soon as I got it home it wouldnt work properly, it drops out or just hangs, and the times when it does want to work, if I try leaning forward to type it will cut out on me. After weeks of calling some call centre where I cant even understand what they are trying to say, I got the gist from them that Im in a bad area. My husband is on 3 network and works perfectly. Looks like I will be joining him soon but if they are merging with Vodafone I might have to look elsewhere.

We have been trying to get what you would call reasonable service for over 3 years. We have complained to the local supplier and have just been fobbed off. Any complaints to Vodafone have never been answered. We get one bar of service on a good day and down load speed of 10kbps is amazing if we can get it. All we have ever heard is "We are improving our service".Unfortunately no other provider is willing to say that they can provide a service to us even Telstra.

I know I'll probably never find anyone who will love me the way that you do....
But that is exactly the point.

I am constantly losing reception. They promise me another phone with another number they neglected to tell me that because I'm a student I couldnt have the second phone. If I call I'm usually on hold for around an hour listening to that terrible music. And they don't even answer my question when I do get through. And they never apologize I'm so sick of vodafone now I'm ready to keep them on hold for one hour

I have tried calling Vodaphone for 3months to get my credit card registered on my new number. I cannot get in contact with anyone in customer care ever. I have tried to go into a Vodaphone shop they cannot help me, they tell me to call Vodaphone. Vodaphone will place me on hold for hours at a time only to be hung up on when I am supposed to be advancing in the Que. The vodaphone reception is terrible and the money we pay for the plans are not worth it.

I still get a bill from a previously closed down (Post-Pay Cell Phone) account that is almost a year old where I still have extra money on the account that I am owed. I have a new Vodafone account and I can not merge the account debit and credit together. I am now on a by-the-month Bring Your Own plan not a fixed 24 month contract and I can not get the present bill emailed to me it can only be sent in paper form (with a additional $2.50 fee) unlike the other bill that is emailed to me. I have poor or no service as soon as I go outside the City Area. Now I have a different email address I am going to have to pay a $2.50 fee for having the old bill I owe nothing on mailed to me in paper form. If you call Vodafone assistance and get to speak to someone they are barely able to speak English and 90% of the time the problem or issue is not resolved it is left the same way it started out as. I have spend hours on the phone waiting for the accounts and bills department but there is still no change to my accounts and it is a waste of my time and money. Vodafone is cheap compared to some other Telecommunication Providers in Australia but their customer service is so very low. Even if you go into a Vodafone store they are useless because I am told I need to call the department and they do not deal with such matters. The staff in the shops are only there to make a sale and get people on fixed contracts.

When I had two friends over from China who needed to have an Autralian mobile number, I didn't hesitate to take them to Vodafone which has been the only mobile network that I've ever used. They each purchased a sim card with $20 credit. They mainly used their phones to receive phone calls from China. After about one month, they both got the message from Vodafone saying their credit had run out. They were really puzzled as they were assured by Vodafone that they do not pay for phone calls received. One of my friends decided to purchase another $20 credit. Alas, two weeks later he got the message againg saying his credit was about to run out when he hardly had his phone switched on! I tried to contact Vodafone many times trying to work this out and was eventually told that the SIM card had a number that has been recycled. The person who had this number before subcribed to a company that provided overseas media content that still sent text message regularly at a cost of $3.50 per text message to my friend! You would think Vodafone would have blocked all these 'old connections' before they issue the same number again to someone else!!!

G`day. am posting this while on holiday in Tassie , But i am going to say that after 7 mths , 3 usb sticks , 4 sim-card replacements(1 returned from store in a bent condition) , next to no connections and data going `missing` and then credited at a later time with extra Gig added ..... for no real reason , i received a Full Credit on the device with no questions asked. they (V) actually suggested this and now i am using the provider that doesnt start with T , but a few letters before.
this service is great ...... especially see-ing that my current location in Tasmania is Stanley on the North of the island and i cannot get signal from EITHER of the 2 known biggies on my personal or work phones. one of the phones is with T , the other with the big V. will leave ya`s with that comment and i hopes you`se-all get a win sometime in the future.
be nice if they would just give some free Usage for a Month , wouldn`t it?
Cheers .... :)

I have not had proper coverage for over a year in the area that I live in, which is very annoying to say the least as I need my phone for work as many a time I am on call as a nurse/support worker. The battery does not stay charged for long either and I am paying over $130.or more a month for no service and all they can say is that they are working on it what a poor excuse I am sick of the service I am receiving at present.

When I signed my contract with Vodafone I explained to the Sales Assistant that I worked within the Emergency Services sector and I needed to have optimal reception EVERYWHERE. I made myself quite clear that the style of phone was not my concern but excellent reception was imperative. The Sales Assistant sold me a contracted phone with the reassurance that they have never had a problem with reception with that particular phone.
Well to my suprise she lied in a big way. I lived in the centre of town and was unable to get reception, when I was at home the only place I was able to have reception was by walking out to my letter box to make phone calls and send messages.
I rung Vodafone a few weeks later and informed them of the conversation I had had with the sales assistant, I stressed the importance of reception to the Vodafone rep. The only conclusion I achieved from the phone call was that I could pay my contract out or continue my contract.
I had no option but to pay my contract out as I HAD to have reception at all times and in all locations. This little exercise cost me a ridiculous amount of money and time and was a huge inconvenience.
I will never buy Vodafone again.

Internet cut off without notice. I call them to see what is going on. On hold for 30 mins, then hang up on. Call back and on hold again, told someone will call me back. They let the phone call for one ring and then just hang up. All up over 48 hours of making calls to them to sort out my already shit internet connection I was put on hold for over 2 and half hours. Sometimes I was on hold for 35 mins before someone even picked the phone up, then for them to tell me I have been put through to the wrong section just to be transferred to another area and be on hold for another 25mins. But I have to pay $200 to get out of the shit running contract!

It says on the Vodafone website on their "coverage map" that I should get service in the areas

Half way through a call it drops out saying "Network Busy". of cause its busy....I was on it. Then to add to the frustration 4 bars turns to 1 when you try to dial again and just before ringing the signal drops out completely for 10 minutes. All this without moving. This can happen 5 times a day easily....

I entered into a contract with Vodafone in June, with a Nokia N97 phone and have no reception ever since. On taking out the contract I insisted on knowing that I would be able to receive reception in my area and was told yes. My Mobile has been sent away 3 times for repair and I have had a new sim card and 6 months down the track I still have NO reception. I want out of my contract as I can live up to my end of the deal by paying my bills but they have never lived up to theirs by giving my reception.

What is the point of an infinite plan??? I suppose you need it so you can call back after continuous drop-outs and Zero service.
I signed up on a 24 month infinite plan 2 months ago. I asked if I would get service at my house ok and was told it was in a normal service area and would be ok. I now know the meaning of normal service!!! Not only at my home but just about everywhere in and around Brisbane. I have emailed them continuously and they come back to me in complete denial, saying to clean the sim, blaming the phone, wanting to replace the sim etc. even when I tell them that I have read all the media regarding their lack of service. HOW CAN THEY GET AWAY WITH SIGNING PEOPLE UP UNDER THESE FALSE PRETENCES!!!!!!!!

Vodafone is a joke worst mistake I made changing to them from another carrier. No reception especially in my house, in the middle of the night I can not answer the phone unless I get out of bed and stand in a certain spot on my veranda if I am lucky it will connect, then the call drops out after 3mins. Messages can take up to 2 hours to be delivered to other phones. I am sick of having sos on my phone as this is the only reception available within my house and with all this rain its a disaster to trey and make calls. As for trying to send picture message its just a waste of time they take forever to send and most of the time they fail to send.

We are about to move to Ravenshoe, in Far North Queensland, and up there, only Telstra is available. So because Ravenshoe is apparently in the 8% or whatever it is of Australia that they don't cover (I think this is a lie!), we have to change providers. So I rang up to ask about this, and we will be slugged a $3000 bill to exit, not because we want to, but because they don't have coverage. The best they can do is reduce the fee to $1500. That is still a lot of money because they are too incompetent to put reception in towns!!! I am very upset, and haven't decided what to do yet!
On a positive note, this is an awesome site! Well done!

4338 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Very at 27 Dec 2010 05:53:16 PM
I complain and complain and no reply. If the after sale is poor, it is a sign for collapse. That what I told them when I cancelled my contract with Vodafone.
4337 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is massive nuisence at 27 Dec 2010 05:53:08 PM
we signed up to a mobile broadband package with vodafail and it worked fine for three months then it started dropping out and loosing signal. i spent more than 6 hours on hold to a call center in india only to be told there was nothing they could do. i then went into the vodafone shop and they told me there was nothing they could do either. i ended up ringing the call center in india back for the 15th time before i got a response when i was told that they would change my plan to 10 dollars a month. every month since i have recieved a bill of $29+ and i have to call the stupid call center and get them to charge me the correct ammount. also every time i call them they tell me that if i dont pay it they will give me a bad credit rating and will not cancel the contract.
4333 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is No service at 27 Dec 2010 05:52:53 PM
Was with Vodofone on prepaid last year when I purchased a new touch phone. Travelled all over Victoria and could harldly get any service. When I enquired about unlocking my phone so I could change networks I was told they couldn't do it, even though I owned the phone outright. I finally changed over to another network but it took several phone calls, many hours on hold form Customer care and abuse from the owner of a Vodofone shop
4326 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is VERY at 27 Dec 2010 05:51:49 PM
I live in Mackay QLD and have extremely poor reception in and around my home. In summary my vodafone contract phone can not be used in or around our residence where i spend most of my time, hence, I am stuck paying a 24mth contract for nothing. When explaining my plight to Vodafone they said it is unfortunate but they would not break my contract free of charge or assist in anyway!
I will not use vodafone again, EVER. (Well when they let me out my jail sentence lock in)

27 Dec 2010 06:01:14 PM: You can get out of the contract J, you're not breaking the contract, VF is breaching it by not providing you with the service they promised, give them a call everytime you have a problem for a couple of weeks, if it doesn't get better, tell them you want out, you will go and find another provider, if you have gotten a phone off them, offer to return it to them. Find yourself a better provider (I personally despise OPTUS), ask the staff to help you through the process.
4325 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is pretty bad. at 27 Dec 2010 05:51:47 PM
No coverage around Lowood. Internet speed slow around Brisbane and intermittent. Sometimes the coverage around Brisbane especially Corinda drops out at the most inconvenient times.

In my home i can only get 1 bar of "3G" coverage, yet i can travell 500 meters down the road in the opposite direction to the tower and get full reception. This makes me think i should switch carriers but the others dont give me the data cap like vodafail does
4322 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is MEGA FAIL!!! at 27 Dec 2010 05:51:44 PM
Have contacted vodafone on several occasions due to bad reception. I used to get nearly 5 bars, yet the past few weeks my phone keeps searching for a network , or goes on roming.
This delays my messagaes , people have been trying to call me , yet my phone doesnt ring.
I lodged a compaint with vodafone about 3 weeks ago, they advised me that someone would contact me with 7 days to give me an outcome as to why this is happening... im still waiting for that call.
Their service is crap , and i cant wait for the day i can take me services elsewhere!!!!!

4312 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is 3rd world crap at 27 Dec 2010 05:50:41 PM
Dropped calls, no reception in different parts of my house, no range 5kms from a major Queensland town of 140,000 people, no coverage from Toowoomba to Goondiwindi so 350kms and 3hrs of no reception along one of Australia's busiest highways, virtually NO 'Live!' coverage so none of the free Facebook and YouTube services they advertise are no cost, terrible voice quality calls, 4hrs on hold for customer assistance in one instance, 1hr waits on five occasions - all times I gave up, painfully slow data transfers, duplicated messages for two weeks including three days when they were triplicated and quadrupled as well as not receiving or sending TXTs for two weeks with no apology or compensation...you would expect this from a carrier in a 3rd world nation, and STILL they market and advertise for more clients!!!
4307 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Very fail at 27 Dec 2010 05:49:52 PM
Up in Cairns, I have to go outside and stand in the middle of the road to get signal, and even then (when my phone says I have one or 2 bars) the damn thing cuts out continually and breaks up. Either that or I just can't call anyone at all as it just wont connect. Sooo frustrating! And to think I pay $80 a month for this.
4305 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Hopeless service all round at 27 Dec 2010 05:49:46 PM
I am having no luck contacting Vodafone to get out of my contract. After experiencing the typical dropped calls, failed SMS and picture messages being sent or register, little or no mobile (3G) broadband etc I want another provider. Problem is I have 22 months left on my contract. Had I known what I was going to get from Vodafone ie nothing, I would never have signed up with them with these new phones. I am now looking at all ways to get out of this contract without it costing me the world. I just need to be sure that I choose a provider that will not just be the same.

4294 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is very fail at 27 Dec 2010 05:48:42 PM
I used to be a vodafone customer well until I was ripped off. I kept being sent other peoples voice mail messages. I was getting sms's saying voicemail messages had been left yet no actual calls.
I had people wishing me well on my trip, even though I wasn't going anywhere. People who couldn't wait to meet me. They are still waiting if the message was for me.
I had spent at-least 50$ on retrieving incorrect voice mail messages. I was expecting them to fix the problem then maybe give me a credit for the wasted money but I gave up and left them.

4279 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Pathetic at 27 Dec 2010 05:45:55 PM
I have had endless problems with vodafone since getting my iphone in may 2010. Since then I have had 2 new phones ( no thanks to Vodafone), the Apple store replaced it for me and have had 3 sim cards. Buse everytime you complain, it's either the phone or the sim card, it's never their fault. I lodged a complaint with the TIO 5 weeks ago and just lodged another one as Vodafone has failed to fix the problem. I have been with Vodafone for over 15 years. After this, never again will I be a Vodafone customer !!!
4274 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is 15Years FAIL at 27 Dec 2010 05:45:06 PM
I have been with vodafone for 16 years at least maybe more. To date I still can not send a text from my lounge room or take a call without it dropping out. We live just outside Brisbane in a northern outer suburb not far from the City but anyone would think it was in the middle of outback Australia.
The last phone I was sold is substandard but the signal strength falls within the permissible levels apparently according to the repair people. They are 2-5 whatevers and my signal strenght is 2.2. Poor guys very poor. For years I have been hearing the same message from the CEO's that they are on it and upgrading will take place. It hasn't in the last 16 years so I doubt very much whether it will happen in the next 16. But you can bet your bottom dollar all the Bosses are collecting their substantial bonuses every year.
I have a two year plan and my phone started to fail 4months ago. It turns itself on and off whenever it feels like. That was only 18months into my plan. (I have never had a phone last the 2 year contract time.) Only 2 more months to go. Ringing to complain is just a waste of time. Nothing can be done unless I want to sign up again, get a new phone for another 2years etc etc. Well guys I am a very very patient person I have done that eight times already. Nothing has changed after all these years. Very Poor business practices vodafone in this day and age. You should be ashamed of yourselves, I am when someone asks me which carrier I use.

28 Dec 2010 12:29:12 AM: I;m an Idependent ACN Representative,I understand how everyone are totally dissatisfied with the Vodaphone phone, internet and customer service qualities. Our ACN customer services are incredible. You can reach them less than 10 mins pratically everytime. Every time I try to download my statement to pay my account it won't allow me to do so Iam getting hit with huge bills which should not be happening on my plan that Iam on which is the $69 cap allowing me $700 cap & 2Gig of Data so how do I pay my Bill. For the last few years I was with 3 when my contract was up they told me that I should go with vodaphone as nothing would change how wrong were they I have never ever had any problems with 3. Now everythings a problem I contacted vodaphone about my bill which they assured me the problem was solved and quoted an amount which I would pay to fix the problem problem is I still can't download a statement to get the barcode to pay the amount they told me to pay.

I am so glad I watched the news tonight and have seen your website! Thank you!
Their customer service is just disgraceful - I don't know how they are allowed to get away with it.
the below is a complaint letter that I sent to them a couple of month ago. No one responded to me. I am going down to vodafone tomorrow to get out of my contract if I can - I encourage everyone to do the same - having no customers is the only way to hurt these organsiations - vote with your feet!
DEAR WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE PROVIDER EVER!
I AM WRITING THIS EMAIL OUT OF SHEER ANGER AND FRUSTRATION AS I CANNOT FIND ANSWERS ANY OTHER WAY. KNOWING VODAFONE I WON'T GET A RESPONSE.
YOUR RIDICULOUS LARA VOICE RECOGNITION SYSTEM IS EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING AND DOES NOT WORK. YOU WAIT ON HOLD FOR HOURS AND THEN GET THROUGH TO A DIVISION LIKE TECH SUPPORT WHEN YOU WANT BILLING AND THEY CAN'T HELP YOU. YOU ARE THEN TRANSFERRED BACK ONTO A QUEUE THAT YOU HAVE TO WAIT AGAIN.
LET YOUR CUSTOMERS SPEAK TO A REAL PERSON. A PERSON THAT IS AUSTRALIAN! YOU ARE THE AUSTRALIA DIVISION OF VODAFONE! I AM SICK AND TIRED OF BEING PUT THROUGH TO AN INDIAN OR EGYPTIAN CALL CENTRE WITH STAFF THAT CULTURALLY CANNOT UNDERSTAND WHAT I AM TRYING TO FIND OUT. I HAVE BEEN ON HOLD TONIGHT FOR OVER TWO HOURS. RESOURCE YOUR CALL CENTRES APPROPRIATELY!!! I HAVE BEEN PASSED FROM EVERY DIVISION, SPOKEN TO A SUPERVISOR AND STILL NO ONE IS ABLE TO PUT ME THROUGH TO A PERSON THAT CAN ASSIST WITH MY REQUEST.
I APPRECIATE THAT YOU CFO IS TIGHT AND WANTS TO CUT COSTS BY OUTSOURCING CALL CENTRES TO INDIA AND EGYPT, BUT YOUR CUSTOMERS CAN'T UNDERSTAND THE INDIAN CUSTOMER SERVICE TEAM'S ACCENT AND LANGUAGE BARRIERS. I JUST FOUND OUT THAT I CANNOT SPEAK TO ANYONE IN AUSTRALIA AT ALL. ASK YOUR MARKETING DIRECTOR - WHAT IS THE POINT OF DEVELOPING A GREAT BRAND CAMPAGIN WHEN YOUR CUSTOMERS ARE TREATED LIKE DIRT AT THE OTHER END I CANNOT BELEIVE HOW BACKWARD YOUR APPROACH TO CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE IS.
IF I DIDN'T HAVE BETTER THINGS TO DO I WOULD START A VODAFONE HATE CAMPAIGN ACROSS EVERY SOCIAL NETWORK SITE I CAN FIND.
IF THERE IS ANYONE WITH A BRAIN THAT CAN READ THIS EMAIL, PLEASE SEND IT TO YOU MARKETING TEAMS, BECAUSE I AM SURE THEY WILL CARE MORE ABOUT THIS COMPLAINT THAN ANY OTHER. IF YOU WANT A LESSON IN CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE PHONE THE COMMONWEALTH BANK AS THEY KNOW HOW TO TREAT THEIR CUSTOMERS PROPERLY. I FEEL LIKE I MATTER TO THEM AS A CUSTOMER.
WITH VODAFONE I CAN'T WAIT TO WORK OUT HOW I'M GOING TO GET OUT OF YOUR CONTRACT AND TELL EVERYONE HOW ABISMAL YOUR SERVICE IS!
IF SOME POTATO IN YOUR AUSTRALIA CUSTOMER SERVICE TEAM COULD CONTACT ME TO ANSWER MY QUESTION I WOULD BE MOST GRATEFUL.
I WON'T HOLD MY BREATH.

29 Dec 2010 06:33:51 PM: LOl you idiot......Commonwealth Bank got the lowest score in customer service out of any of the major banks. Im not defending Vodafone nor am I trying to make Commonwealth Bank sound bad but seriously do some research before you make such stupid comments. P.S all you have to do is ask to cancel your contract, they will cancel it for you or come to a compromise. I was annoyed that I was paying $100 a month for shitty coverage and they cancelled my contract. Done happy :-) ......ohh and if you think that vodafone has tight ass CFO, you might want to google what commonwealth banks profits were last year. The board decides to cut costs to make money for share holders. Share holders at the end of the day want more profits so therefore favour cheaper decisions, the CFO is mearly a puppet in-between the public and its shareholders.........so who do we blame SHAREHOLDERS!!!! no further comment....

I have a iPhone with vodafail on a 2 year contract which is up in 6 months! I have had problems with them over the years were they have been taking money out of my bank account with out any consent or contract binding! When I rang to sort it out they kept putting me through to the debts area like i was the one that owed them money!! I had to go to the TIO in the end to have it sorted out. Last week I waited on hold for customer service for 1 hour and 20 minutes to try and have my handset upgraded. I hung up in the end because I couldn't bear to waist anymore of my time!! NOT HAPPY

My husband and I signed into two 24month contracts five weeks ago and are gutted we chose Vodafone. The coverage is crap and and we often have to go outside to use our phones. Calls cut out periodically and voicemail doesn't tell us we have a message for up to 36 hours after the message was left. I spoke to a Vodafone rep at our local mall about the voicemail problem and she just shrugged her shoulders and said that Vodafone has some issues and there was nothing they could do about it. Crap service Vodafone! Wish we hadn't signed...grrrrr!

I have 2 phones on a contract with vodafone and whilst i have been happy with them in the past the last few months we have had nothing but problems! We pay nearlly $160 a month and the service is non existant! I have made numerous phone calls to vodafone who have continually told me they dont know what the issue is and made us do numerous things to our phones as they keep saying its a problem with the phone. I was first told vodafone would compensate there customers and when i pressed this issue i was told i could be given a $10 compensation. I have since been given a 50% reduction on one bill however clearly they are well aware of these issues so i am now going to get out of my contracts as they have lied repeatedly and this shows how they operate. I was abused by a staff member at the capalaba store with him repeatedly saying they weren't aware of the issue and he even suggested we had just bought a dodgy phone by buying an iphone! I have sent an email to vodafone which is supposed to be responded to in 5 days - it has been over 2 weeks still no response, i had a vodafone worker advise me he was going to sort it out and call me back that was 2 weeks ago and still no call. I feel everyones pain and have repeatedly asked the question why should we have to pay the bill for a service they can't provide!

Had vodafone mobile broadband was told that would have coverage at home but had to walk into front yard to get 1 bar of reception wich you cant use, and was totaly useless out side brisbene. It was months of fighting to get a refund and then only throught goverment intervention.
I now have 3 mobile phone and since merger with vodafone I can not have a phone call inside the house so have to go outside to answer a call.
You may as well put 3 on the list of bad reception as well

as far as 3 g goes its really a joke it takes anything from 5 minutes to 30 minutes to connect to a web site
I have called vodafone on a number of occations and get Lara she finally puts me through to the technical department but then thats where it stops she comes back on intermittently and i cant get connected to anyone this has been happening constantly over the last 3 weeks not just prior to Christmas 2010

4236 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is really bad at 27 Dec 2010 05:37:52 PM
Had vodafone mobile broadband was told that would have coverage at home but had to walk into front yard to get 1 bar of reception wich you cant use, and was totaly useless out side brisbene. It was months of fighting to get a refund and then only throught goverment intervention.
I now have 3 mobile phone and since merger with vodafone I can not have a phone call inside the house so have to go outside to answer a call.
You may as well put 3 on the list of bad reception as well

4233 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is triple fail at 27 Dec 2010 05:37:34 PM
I've been getting a text message from vodaphone for 3 months now, saying that my $16 bill for this month is now ready to be paid please go online. I AM A '3' customer and have been for about 5 years. So after being on hold to vodafail for 55 minutes and transferred about 10 times (no joke), they just said to ignore this as I do not have an active account??? Hmmmm. Too bad if I had just paid it every month, like some other poor defenseless people.

Why is it everytime I call for help- I am having trouble with calls dropping out, and slower than dial up broadband (even though I was assured it would be fine)- I wait 40 mins for "help" with one and then have to wait another 20 mins to speak to broadband? I must now wait for someone to check the network and call me back-- good chance! I KNOW again next week I will have to call and chase, then back to the store again to see if anyone there can help. Can't wait to talk to India again next week!
27 Dec 2010 05:41:17 PM: Agreed! They usually tell me the issue is my fault. Hope they choke on their naan!
4225 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Big Failure at 27 Dec 2010 05:36:09 PM
Ever since signing up with Vodafone I have had trouble in many ways i.e. drop outs, bad reception, getting on to other mobiles, calling any numbers. Sound is disgraceful as people cannot hear me and other things.

I live right near a telstra tower and even with roaming on my iphone4 gets no reception. Constantly says no service. I once had no service for 12hrs straight and travelled through Ipswich to find some to make a call!!! Hardly can connect to Internet and phone calls drop in and out!!
4223 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is keep loosing reception at 27 Dec 2010 05:35:56 PM
my calls keep dropping out just about every call, as too does my partners as she is with vodafone also. she has complained a number of times and they kept blaming the sim card and didn't send one out till six weeks after and still didn't fix the issue after recieving the new card. they still have no answer after replacing the phone still calls drop out
4221 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Almost unusable at 27 Dec 2010 05:35:24 PM
Dropped calls all the time. Distortion when I can manage to make a call. Sometimes I can't even make outgoing calls and there's no dialtone when I call. Internet over 3G on my iPhone is slow to the point of non-existant, sometimes even in the Brisbane CBD when I have full bars.
4220 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Titanic at 27 Dec 2010 05:35:23 PM
I cant beleive that inner Brisbane has no coverage. 12 months with hardly any coverage and nothing but excuses.
4219 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is totally pathetic at 27 Dec 2010 05:35:12 PM
I have always been with vodafone without problems, until they merged with 3. I now have limited reception if any inside my house and have to run outside if I have any hope of using my phone. Like many others the reception also just disappears for no reason. Getting through to Vodafone is a joke, and they don't have any solutions anyway. Why should I have to pay for a service that I am not getting.
4218 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Extremely failing at 27 Dec 2010 05:35:08 PM
Went from a prepaid nokia to an iphone on contract in june 10 because i use it for my business,on my 3rd iphone now becuase of problems, then was told to change my sim,got new sim card & phone stopped working altogether, had to go back to using old nokia for 2 weeks, got sim working in iphone again finally but still have crap reception, drop outs etc etc, real handy when my customers get cut off!!!!!
4217 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Crap = Vodafone at 27 Dec 2010 05:34:51 PM
I have an unlimited cap with Vodafone paying $120 a month. ALL of my calls drop out at some point. Internet connection comes and goes. Got a brand new iphone thinking that my phone may be the problem but no change! I have No signal anywhere in Australia! The signal is the worst I have ever seen. I hate Vodafone and will NEVER resign with then. Counting down the days till my contract is up!
4215 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is NOT AT ALL GREAT SERVICE at 27 Dec 2010 05:34:44 PM
Hi Everyone,
Just heard about all the complaints that Vodafone is receiving. After using all other mobile phone providers, I think the service and coverage Vodafone provides is just as good as its competitors, if not better. Myself and my husband have been on Vodafone contracts and the pre-pay service for 4 years with no problems whatsoever. We are everyday customers with no connection to Vodafone itself or its employers. Just like any large company providing a service some will always have a complaint - after all how many are connected to Vodafone?? Give Telstra a go and see how many complaints will be posted.

Within the two months of agreeing to a plan with vodafone, I have had constant problems with reception, life of battery, and constant drop outs on my phone. I was relieved that I was supposed to be on a "Infinite" plan and was not getting charged everytime I was cut off from my important phone calls. However this month I found out that the " Infinate plan" that I am on actually does not mean that the customer can make infiniaty of phone calls and have been hit with a massive phone bill. I find this extremely misleading and cheeky. I WILL NEVER DEAL WITH OR RECOMMEND VODAFONE TO ANYBODY. Unfortunatly I am one of the unlucky who are now stuck with their incompetence for the next 2 years of my contract.
4198 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is not too bad at all at 27 Dec 2010 05:32:37 PM
Thought I'd share my experience so far. I signed up for a 2 yr plan with Vodafone a week ago after porting my number from Telstra Next G. I've made a lot of calls since then on my new HTC desire HD phone. We live in the hinterland of the Sunshine Coast surrounded by some impressive mountains but coverage for calls has been good so far. I must say that I did try to get some vodafone support but gave up hanging on the line. They really need to improve their phone support that's for sure. Over the years I've been with Telstra and Optus as well as Vodafone. No doubt about it that Telstra Next G is good for coverage but it used to drop out on me regularly here at home and it cost a lot to be with them. Optus cover where we live is worse than Vodafone. So hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones who will be able to continue to get good coverage on Vodafone. The internet on my new phone is slow though. It's slower than I expected it to be but I mainly wanted email access and it works fine for that. I really feel for the people out there who are having difficulties. Not sure if there's a communication onbudsman or similar who may be able to help you all. Hopefully Vodafone will read all of your complaints and lift their game soon.
4196 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Worst. Service. Ever. at 27 Dec 2010 05:32:26 PM
Since day 1, in August 2009, my work colleagues mocked me for selecting vodaphone as they are known to have zero reception in the Lockyer Valley, west of Brisbane. I contacted Vodaphone after a while, as I was extremely disappointed with the service, as I am paying $114pm for unlimited phonecalls and SMS, as I intended to use my phone for work purposes. This has not been possible, and due to my phoen serching for service all day, my phones battery life is around 10hours. I have an iphone and initially thought it was phone, but it was the reception. I have to charge my phone at work, just to get through the working day and have a phone in case of emergency on the trips home.
I contact the help line who just sent me a generic "we are awaiting the technicians to confirm the problems" after initially asking me fill out a lot of forms which were the same question over and over again. After 6 months of dramas, I was told that i could not exit my contract, and that the website had now been adjusted to reflect the poor service and coverage in the area.
A little too late for my liking. I want to jump on with everyone else and sue for the 18 months I have endured this crap. I threatened them with legal action but thought "im all alone" and figured I would waste a lot of cash. Now I know I am not alone. If I have met my end of the deal (paying $114pm) them they should meet their end, otherwise, essentially they have broken the contract!! And If i dont pay, they cut me off. Lets hit them where it hurts.

I usually like the Vodafone network, just can't deal with Vodafone. The web site is horrible to find your way around. I was tempted to go with a Mobile Broadband, but had so much trouble finding things on the web site that I thought I would stick with Virgin. And that f*%*#@* Lara thing is just too much to put up with.
Wake up Voda.

I have to make phone calls from my front verandah - no other place in my house has reception. Reception is patchy in my street - will drop out when you get to the bottom of the road. Texts are delayed due to no reception - i have to leave my phone outside if i want to guarantee a chance that it will keep its bars. I spent 45 minutes on hold to voda to complain after their website lists my area as "standard" coverage- their suggested solution was to go get a new sim and that maybe it was my nokia with the issue. Scathing email to the company resulted in a request to contact their "tech" department - from my phone which does not have reception ... likely. After 3 years of substandard calls cutting out, reception and lost business ... i hope you guys can fix it

I live at acacia ridge in brisbane, at best 14km from CBD. i have a brand new iphone 4, at best i will be able to hear you on a call or send a text if i wait 5 mins for the phone to stop "SEARCHING". then if i make a call it will drop out. voicemail? no go. leave me one today il get it in 3 days. maybeeeeee. and because i did not live here when i signed up i CAN NOT cancel my contract, i have 3, without paying 900, 1400, and 1000 $ AUD. what a sick joke
28 Dec 2010 05:55:09 PM: See that is the point on the TT the guy who runs the site mentioned Sydney and Melbourne, but I think Brisbane is suffering just as badly if not worse.

Went to the toowong store today and was speaking to the girl behind the counter and couldnt even look at me when I spoke to her was to busy on the computer! I had to tell her to look at me when i spoke to her, so bloody rude! as a customer coverage is terrible in algester/parkinson, slow internet, voicemail often doesnt come through for 24 hours. WAIT TIMES FOR HELP ARE THE WORST I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED

4184 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Epic Fail at 27 Dec 2010 05:31:17 PM
I have tried calling Vodaphone for 3months to get my credit card registered on my new number. I cannot get in contact with anyone in customer care ever. I have tried to go into a Vodaphone shop they cannot help me, they tell me to call Vodaphone. Vodaphone will place me on hold for hours at a time only to be hung up on when I am supposed to be advancing in the Que. The vodaphone reception is terrible and the money we pay for the plans are not worth it.
