Dear visitor,
Since its inception Vodafail.com has made a significant
contribution towards raising awareness of the problems and issues faced
by Vodafone customers.
Vodafone Australia customers have had the opportunity to voice their concerns, their fears and their troubles from every corner of Australia and beyond our borders.
You have gathered the courage to stand up for your rights as consumers and to make your voice heard.
Each and every person who shared their story should have a sense of pride in this achievement and the changes that have occurred since the start of Vodafail.com.
More recently, traffic to Vodafail.com has declined significantly.
Having achieved the goal of raising awareness and promoting concrete action in early 2011, we have now reached the point of closing Vodafail to new complaints.
The site will remain online for as long as possible as a
reminder and an example of what is possible when we share our experiences.
It has been a privilege to run this initiative
and I'm am forever grateful for the help and support I've received. In
particular I would like to thank Melissa, David and Travis for their
continued efforts over the past 15 months. I'm also thankful and humbled by the support of ACCAN, Choice magazine and a wide range of media outlets, blogs and websites.
You can still browse existing stories and find out how to file a complaint if you are experiencing problems.
Until next time,
Adam Brimo

4180 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is EPIC FAIL at 27 Dec 2010 05:30:35 PM
Have had issues with wireless internet for months. When you call them for assistance they advise to go into the store. When you go into the store they advise only vodafone over the phone can help. When you call back you spend over 30 minutes on hold only to speak to someone who cannot understand you & you cannot understand them. THEN they tell you to go back into the store, where the vodafone store has been changed to "3 store" and they no longer can help with vodafone issues & give you another address. It's endless & no one can help. As soon as our contract ends I will NEVER use vodafone again and I do not recommend vodafone to ANYONE. Good job for this site !!!
27 Dec 2010 05:38:39 PM: it makes you wonder why they have stores if no one can help you, i know what you mean..may as well buy the phone from india and any problems call em

After 18 months of BAD reception or most often NO reception at all I have decided that the pain of only having reception at home in one spot in the middle of the yard provided i crouch down is too much and have decided to pay out the contract just to get away. The final straw came when i almost lost a highly sort after job offer because of the shocking reception. I keep getting charged even when week after week I have no internet connection at all despite only being 30 mins from the city centre.

4172 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Pathetic at 27 Dec 2010 05:29:57 PM
Myself and my girlfriend have both travelled overseas using global roaming. We both were out of Australia at different times. I went to Asia and when she was on her holiday she went to Europe. For both of us we got bad reception, only enough so the call would connect and we get charged the ridiculous connection fee and then 30 seconds of static before it disconnected. We occasionally got ok reception but continued to get dropouts. Our complete talk times were minimum but we both got massive bills. Mine was over 600 dollars on top of my cap and hers was well over $1400. I also suffer from continuous drop outs to other people who use Vodafone also and get stupid charges on my bills. I got the same bill 3 times with them stating I hadn't paid which I had paid each time and now have about a 3 month credit on my account as they wouldn't refund my money which would have been good as it's Xmas time. I have been with Vodafone for a few years cuz if their caps but I have had problems with phones they send out as I received 5 phones in a row that didn't work properly. My girlfriend has been getting charged double her bill every month cuz they failed to change her cap properly like she asked. Her and I are waiting for our contracts to end to find a better provider.
27 Dec 2010 05:33:18 PM: Oh and their customer service is a joke as u have to wait on hold for hours sometimes listening to bad music as they don't always offer the call back option. Just trying to sort out a bill took 2 days of constant calling them and waiting to get call backs. It's suppose to be a 24 hour 7 day service but it is out of service all the time!!!
4168 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Crap = Vodafone at 27 Dec 2010 05:29:52 PM
I have an unlimited cap with Vodafone paying $120 a month. ALL of my calls drop out at some point. Internet connection comes and goes. Got a brand new iphone thinking that my phone may be the problem but no change! I have No signal anywhere in Australia! The signal is the worst I have ever seen. I hate Vodafone and will NEVER resign with then. Counting down the days till my contract is up!
4163 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is No problem at home at 27 Dec 2010 05:28:20 PM
I love my vodafone at home. Funnily enough I live on a farm just north of Glasshouse Mountains in QLD and get full signal strength and fast data. The only problem I've ever had was on the outskirts if Ballarat VIC when I was with family just before Christmas. But I'm interested to see alot of other people have had a problem. My wife is with Optus and she gets terrible reception most places.
Does make me think about Vidafone though. There must be a big problem even Vodafone admit this.

4160 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is 50/50 at 27 Dec 2010 05:27:42 PM
Been with vodaphone for two painful years- last 12 mths have been hopeless with 3G coverage very patchy and unreliable through most of Brisbane . I put it down to iphone issues because that's who vodaphone were blaming but not now, I believe this fail issues finally brings to light the amount of real issues that vodaphone has in coverage
4158 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is no reception, drop out, running my phone battery dry! at 27 Dec 2010 05:27:22 PM
after being with '3' for over a year i decided to swith to vodafone because my partner and most of the people i know are connected with them so i get the free calling credit, i have since regret this decision. Not only does my credit on my prepaid account run out quicker even with the free calls to other vodfone customers my battery power is running out quicker than with '3' i have no reception in most cases inside and while on a call it will simply drop out i can just change services but my girl friends cant as she will have to pay to have her phone unlocked as its locked to vodafone so this does not just affect contract consumers i believe they should not charge prepay customers to unlock their phones when they recieve poor services because this is also affecting my partner who lives innerstate!! Its unbelieveable this is happening because '3' and vodafone are now part of the same company!
27 Dec 2010 05:31:49 PM: If your friend has an iPhone tell her to google how to unlock your phone. You can do it for free.
4157 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is the Missing link GOOD BYE at 27 Dec 2010 05:27:08 PM
I spend more time trying to get connection than actually using the internet. its forever dropping out and no reception, the calls are the same such poor coverage and you wait till you try and call them .you get nothing just left on hold till you drop out.I WILL NOT BE PAYING THE BILL and we will be going back to telstra even though they cost alot more at least you can use the service .NEVER AGAIN VODAFONE SHAME ON YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
4155 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is No Coverage at 27 Dec 2010 05:26:46 PM
I have an I-phone and live in Redbank Plains, Queensland and have had little or no reception. This is frustrating as I was waiting in my car for my son after school and they tried to contact me as he had an accident. After waiting decidied to go to reception to investigate. Just would have been good to get the phone call.
4154 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Slow, delays, just a damned waste of time at 27 Dec 2010 05:26:43 PM
Countless msg delays, mostly annoying coz my GF is voda(fail)fone also, Internet is slow and always cuts out, friends with same phone but different carriers have no where near as many problems! There is no ringtone for approximately 30 secs at the beginning of EVERY call. It just ain't good enough, think I might go with a different carrier at the end of the contract, unless it's going to improve..... Mmmmm
4150 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Infinite. at 27 Dec 2010 05:26:01 PM
For months I have been wondering what is wrong with my phone. Some mornings I wake up with up to 15 messages that were sent to me days before. Often friends message me and the message will never show up. Or I'll message my friends and they never get the message. I use MMS a lot with work as well and receiving and sending pxts has now basically become pointless.
When I visited Vodafone yesterday to speak with someone about it the lady said nothing but "Haha mine does that too" and then gave me a phone number to speak with customer service. Pathetic.
Yet the very moment my billy is due (or overdue) it's cut off almost immediately.
VODAFONE ARE NOT PROVIDING ME WITH THE SERVICE I SIGNED UP FOR.

4148 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is crap rip off!!!!!! at 27 Dec 2010 05:25:43 PM
My partner and I both are with vodafone and have been stuck in contracts for 2 years. Never have service, calls always drop out and still charged for call and re-dial call, voice mails don't come through until next day, ring vodafone and they send you from one person to another for sometimes over an hour and still don't get any help with the problem. I am a business owner and have issues contacting and being contacted on a daily basis costing the business thousands. NOT GOOD ENOUGH!!!! Why should anyone have to pay for a service that is not being provided???????
4146 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Astonishingly at 27 Dec 2010 05:25:09 PM
Having struggled through limited Mobile Broadband Coverage in houses in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, all of which are in areas of full coverage according to Vodafone's coverage maps, the last straw recently came when my ex and I tried to split the numbers currently under my name onto seperate accounts. We got the run-around of shop-front people saying they couldn't do it, we had to ring Customer "support", only to be told that we could do it at a shop. More than 12 hours between us later on hold, we still haven't been able to resolve the issue - I've been told the authorisation has gone through and would be effective immediately, only for her to call and be told that the authorisation hasn't been made. Oh, and I am writing this through a Dial-Up speed connection for which I am still paying Broadband rates. My fancy new Smartphone suffers from the same bandwidth strangulation. I don't have a positive thing to say about Vodafone, and am seriously considering leaving them, except that previous experience with other carriers hasn't exactly been positive.
4144 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Reception at 27 Dec 2010 05:25:01 PM
I was with 3, and then they merged with Vodafone.... what a travesty.... The only place that I could get reception was standing in the middle of the road, and even then the call would only last about 5 minutes (if that) before it would drop out then I would have to call again. Rang 3 about the problem, who then referred me to Vodafone (called them on my landline because mobile kept dropping out). After an hour and a half on the phone they said that there was nothing that they could do, and in their words - "if you don't like it change to someone else". Within 10 minutes of hanging up I was in a Telstra store. Even though I was with 3, Vodafone took over everything. With 3 the reception and customer service was tolerable, after the merge with Vodfone - it was all cactus.
4142 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is badly at 27 Dec 2010 05:24:41 PM
I'm in Mackay and was contracted to Vodafone for 4 years. The first two years worked fine but just after i extended my contract another two years it went tits up. The ONLY real thing that gets me is their blatant 'deny everything' policy at their call centres. They've given me the excuse that they were upgrading the tower in 2009 - never happened - then it was lightning hit the tower - then whatever excuse the person that answered the phone could come up with. Rubbish service now in contrast to years earlier when they were top class. I moved to Optus and it's been perfect in Mackay and all the way to Brisbane. Pissed off i tried that many times to get out of my contract with them as i couldn't make a call anywhere - not even in the Vodafone shop lol - but had to stay on as i wasn't paying out heaps of money for crap service.

27 Dec 2010 05:29:20 PM: have had the same issues with the robina town center staff. got my iphone from there and when it stopped working only a week after the manager of the store, some kiwi girl, asked me what i was doing in the store complaining and to leave and go to the apple store to get it fixed. i complained over the phone and they sent me 5 free movie tickets,,whoopee vodaphone.

I am a Plumber & could get no reception in lots of areas in Brisbane.I had to pay out my contract & switch service providers, as they wouldn't let me out of the contract, even though they couldn't provide the service. I feel ripped off as it cost a few hundred dollars to pay out the contract.

As listening to the news about Vodafone drop outs, my reception drops out for a third time in 3 minutes.
Changed to vodafone due to poor Optus reception as we are at the bottom of a hill and everyone who had Vodafone good reception, now Optus has put in a new tower at the top of the hill and everyone who has Optus has good reception and I've got to sit on the window ledge to basically get reception for a minute or two.
My messages always come back as unable to send.

I have a few issues with my phone but I have given up asking for help and calling Vodafone as I honestly cant stand speaking to ANNOYING LARA!!!!! I was previously with Optus and even though the call centre is overseas at least I actually spoke to a real person. I sstill continue to put up with my phone due to not getting any where. I dont want to just jump on here to complain but the service from my phone is ridiculous. Phone constanly drops out and some times I could hear another conversation on my line?

4128 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Useless!! at 27 Dec 2010 05:23:28 PM
Vodafone is USELESS!! How are you surpose to be contactable when the network keeps dropping out every five minutes! Then when you try and contact vodafone via the customer service number it's like a waiting marathon and then the network drops out and you have to start all over again!!! Frustrating, disappointed and pissed off are words that come to mind over vodafones lack of concern over delivering a service they promise to deliver when you sign their contracts... and whats more... they still want their bill paid on time or your service gets cut off!! Vodafone you suck!!

Almost every time I sent a mms it won't send, even when it does the other person only gets it about 12hrs later. Normal reception is crap, 50% of calls dropout even when the phone shows 3 bars of reception. Over it!!!!!!!!!!
4121 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is at 27 Dec 2010 05:23:07 PM
I am so sick of sending text messsages to my friends, and they receive them maybe 2-3 days later! Same goes for voicemail message alerts. Friends will leave me a message and I will receive it maybe 2 days later! Incredibly slow internet service on my iphone, and call drop outs constantly. As soon as my contract has expired I will be terminating my contract and NEVER using them again, and telling as many of my friends as I can to never use them.
4119 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is double fail!!! at 27 Dec 2010 05:22:55 PM
I bought a vodaphone dongle with the knowledge that I had a 7 day return policy if I did not have coverage in my area as the map showed a few black spots and this was my concern. When I got home, I discovered that I had no coverage, infact I had to walk to the back of my parents property to get any sort of signal. Definately no signal inside. The very next day I returned to the shop. I was told I had to ring customer service to renig the contract. I proceeded to spend at least 1 hour on the phone almost everynight and would go into the store on a Thursday and Saturday for A MONTH!!!! In the end, I just broke down in the shop and cried. Then, the vodaphone spent 3 hours on the phone getting it sorted. I will never consider them again. That was not acceptable.
28 Dec 2010 12:48:04 AM: I'm an Idependent ACN Representative,I understand how everyone are totally dissatisfied with the Vodafone phone, internet and customer service qualities. Our ACN customer services are incredible. You can reach them less than 10 mins pratically everytime. They are fast and effiecient and never transfer your call unlike Telstra or Optus as I heard, If you want to know more about us, contact me in my email at cengiz@acnrep.com I loves to turn UNHAPPY customer to HAPPY customer.

I regularly get drop outs in Murarrie on 2G - suburb of Brisbane.
In addition I am only 8 km from the centre of Brisbane and the 3G coverage is almost non-existent. It is a waste of time calling Customer Service as there is none, service that is.

We have terrible coverage. The whole family have to go out side the front door to be able to hear anyone. I am so tired of having to run around the house trying to find a spot that you can actually get coverage. The company my husband and myself work for are changing back to telstra as the service is so bad.

When I was living in qld at my parents house I never got signal and thought it was the area we lived in but before I got my contract I had full signal and could phone from within the house. I've complained with customer service and with store personal and got told vodafone is updating there network and there towers but it's been 2/3 years now and it's still the same problem. I live in Victoria now and I do have signal in my house but ones we travel the signal goes. Ive been having problem with receiving bills and after a year of over due bills and phoning them monthly I am receiving my bill and changed my plan from $69 cap to the new infinite plan. I complained severely and was frank with the customer service officer and refused to pay for my new plan. I am giving vodafone one more chance and if they don't upgrade there services (customer service, signal etc I am forced to change to a different provider.

Over texting my friends and family and it sending more then 3 times and getting charged for 3 times the text message when i only want it sent once. Not only is that happening but every time i go to make a phone call it decides not to connect 90% of the time and having to dial it again. SO OVER VODAPHONE u have wasted up to $120 of my own money on the $29 cap every 2 weeks because you decide to charge me up to $2.20 for a text i only want sent once not 3-5 times!!!! Where is my money back???????????

4106 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is coverage at 27 Dec 2010 05:22:12 PM
I cancelled my plan with Vodafone, and they decided to send me a bill for over $1,500 in cancellation costs, apart from me not going to pay the bill due to lack of customer service support, very very poor mobile coverage over the Queensland and surrounding suburbs, delayed messages, email service problems. i have recently moved my mobile phone and all my company phones to telstra which so far have found to have better customer service, reception, email services.
I had been a Vodafone mobile customer for over 8 years , but times are changing and if you cant keep up with technology, then get out

4104 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Too the extreme!!! at 27 Dec 2010 05:22:09 PM
I joined Vodafail Broadband Wireless in November 2009, as part of joining over the phone I was to receive 3 months free; I was lead to believe that this would be the first 3 months of the contract, but after contacting Vodafail I was told my 3 months free would be received in the 5th, 6th & 7th month. Each month I didn't receive the free month, in which I made many long calls to Vodafail and in turn was promised each time that it would begin on the next bill. A couple of months back I emailed them to explain my situation and that I was feeling the customer service team were insulting my intelligence by continually promising my free months would happen from the next bill (having them repeat this promise at least 3 times per call :)I also requested to cancel my contract as they had not held up their end of the contract, so I was not prepared to hold up mine and would like to persue a more reparable provider. I received a reply to my email a few weeks later stating that they apologise that the discount had been received and it will happen from my next bill and of course yet again this didn't transpire. I had to take a break from this frustrating situation for a couple of months as it was driving me crazy and I was no longer being very polite to the customer service people which is extremely out of character for me, so with it now being 8 months since my first contact I would like to formally complain for the inconvenience this has caused, the time wasted, the cost to my mobile phone account I would like compensation for the call cost also. (which is also with vodafail, but that's another complaint altogether).
Thank you for taking the time to set up this web page and I hope the authorities will look into this further as it is totally unacceptable for the money we pay for these services.

Faulty to which they told me to just turn it off on

I couldn't get service at home & kept dropping out
During calls! I ended up at TIO to get out of my

So i've been on the $79 cap for about 24 months and every month my bill has been in the hundreds. I dont exceed the usage and no one can answer my questions/cant get ahold of anyone. Recently i paid my $130 bill and a week later i get a message from vodafone saying that I owe $188 in charges on top of my cap? I log into my account and it says i owe $0.00 . But then it says in my "Spend since last bill" $127. I APPARENTLY HAVE WASTED $600 OF USAGE IN A WEEK? I USE MY PHONE IN MODERATION. COOL THANKS VODAFONE. I LOVE PAYING HIGH BILLS WITH NO EXPLANATION. LUV YA.

We have no coverage when we are in our house, so nobody can get hold of us on our mobiles when we are inside. We have to go outside and stand in the street if we want to make calls or receive a signal, but if you look on the coverage map of Vodafone, we have no problems with signal according to them. We are paying but the service is very poor.
4078 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Poor service at 27 Dec 2010 05:20:14 PM
My current handset keeps dropping in and out. I took it into vodafone who told me it was 2 days out of vodafones replacement warranty and that I had to take it to the other side of town and go without a phone until it was fixed. I don't have time to do this. Or Christ sake it was only 2 day, how bout giving some service. And to add to this it just keeps dropping out and usually after I have been on hold for over an hour to vodafone custom service. When u do finally get to talk to some one they keep transferring u around. I will be taking my phone and Internet to another provider who's coverage is actually good

I was loyal to Vodafone for over 10 years. I went camping with a mate and my phone was thrown in the fire. I sat on hold with their 'upgrade' department for 35 minutes before I was cut off. I called back again and spoke to an operator who told me I would have to wait another 25 minutes. I decided to just go straight into a Vodafone shop instead. I called first to make sure my upgrade could be done from the shop, and was told there would be no problem. After sitting there doing all the sign up stuff for 15 minutes, I was told it could not be done. I am now with Telstra and let me tell you, my phone now works everywhere on calls, which it certainly didn't with Voda. My broadband works everywhere, even in the country town where I grew up, which Vodafone had no chance in. My advice is to get the hell away from Vodafone as fast as you can. They are absolutely hopeless, with absolutely no customer service skills, and I would like to stab Lara to death.

I cannot believe how painful the 3G coverage constantly is in Brisbane. Somtimes it will be incredibly fast, then suddenly it will just drop to impossibly slow. I'm pretty sure all Vodafone did was wiped it and re-installed the software. They suck. Coverage is terrible. Internet is slow.

I have been with vodafone over 5 years now, over this period they have made no progress is service coverage. I live in a regional town but one that is far from remote. When you sign on a cap plan you are then bound by breaking fee to this product, since my latest sign optus have upgraded their services as have all other mobile providers. I am at home without service so my my is only getting 50% at most prouctivity. This is unacceptable.

Called Vodafone customer service last month... had to hold for 45 minutes. When I finally got through, I asked to downgrade my iPhone plan (I was the $59 cap, but only use a quarter of my calls, texts, data etc, so I figured it'd be wise to make my bills cheaper by downgrading). The consultant put me on the infinite $65 plan (I clearly DID NOT ask to UPgrade my plan and for MORE stuff I don't use... retard!) On top of this, instead of making my bills cheaper, it made them more expensive - due to the GST on top of the $65 cap. And now.. I can't change back to my original plan.
Gooooood service.

4024 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Compromised Network at 27 Dec 2010 05:13:06 PM
I have observed "glitches", failures to receive messages, failures for messages I have sent to arrive, spam messages, and "faults" that persistently occurred in circumstances that when reviewed carefully suggest that far from being actual network or phone faults that these failures were in fact the product of compromised security and network hacking.
May be difficult for many people to believe, but I feel that the failures and security issues are so comprehensive now that I see others complaining etc., that it should be carefully considered if these issues are really faults/glitches/mistakes or are they "controlled follies" providing cover for extremely serious abuses being performed on the vodaphone network.
The TIO I fear will provide maximum leeway to the vendor and little to the consumer. The vendor will be allowed to drag the resolution out to the absolute limit of their legislated time-frames, and they will not be penalized for turning the process into a farce, or even for executing adverse action against a consumer by continuing to bill in defiance of ombudsman directives. Where there are clear breaches that effect obvious adverse action against the consumer, I have found that the TIO is quick to dismiss the vendors inexcusable conduct as "gross incompetence" (controlled folly cover) without penalizing the vendor.
You can expect a long process through TIO as the industry buddy-buddy relationship has the TIO billing the vendor for their time, and therefore in terms of cashflow there is a carrot on a stick for the TIO to allow compromised processes that drag out needlessly because it's all income to the TIO, making the ombudsman something of a joke after the number of times I heard excuses for the vendor from them. Self regulation is no regulation at all IMO

2 years ago I signed for wireless broadband with 6Gg output for $40/mo 2 yrs contract. Since I used it for clients, I got embarrassed all the time because I cannot do any work in front of them with Vodafone mobile broadband because I cannot get any reception in any area on the Gold Coast even in Brisbane city itself. I tried to call them by phone but so many hrs on the line and nobody answer the phone. So I give up all. The Vodafone broadband drops off and always no connections. I cannot return the USB Vodafone anymwore because the outlet I signed up already not there anymore so I was charged every month for $40 till 2 yrs have lapse only paying them and when 2 yrs contract ended I asked Vodafone that to please do not charged me anymore my contract was over and I dont want them it is too much to pay when their service is not working and most of the time I was charged over the limit that I wasnt able to get connected even to the place where I lived.
SO that is my story I paid for my contract for nothing for 2 long years.

3997 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Drop out/lack of coverage at 27 Dec 2010 05:07:53 PM
I have had so many issues with Vodafone; but the main two are - I signed up for one of the new beaut Netbooks for wireless internet on a laptop that is really portable. The laptop itself was great; the coverage and data speed were pathetic. Whenever I run Vodafone I had to talk to a person in Egypt who barely spoke english; and they would always tell me I am in a bad coverage area. Funny thing is I had taken it to so many places aside from my house 10kms from Brisbane CBD (been to Cairns, Sydney, Gold Coast and Brisbane just to name a few). I guess Vodafone got sick of me ring up and the day I lost it and started yelling they put me straight through to disconnections. I got out of the contract after six months, was refunded part of my money for the months of poor service and had no early termination fee. I did have prepaid internet as well; and that was just as bad, but at least you can just stop using it. The lastest drama in the Vodafone problems was I had 3-4 days with none or sparatic coverage; occasionally I could made calls or send a text but that was pretty rare. I sent countless emails to Vodafone through the website because I couldn't ring from my mobile. The only response I got from Vodafone was detailed information on the GPRS/3G network areas (not really handy); they also advised me to check the website for outages, which I did and there were none in my area. At no point did a human from Vodafone ring me; which is deplorabe. At the time that all this was going on, ALL of the Vodafone (4 in total) sotres in my local area were closed for refurbishment so I couldn't go into a store; I did try and ring from a landline as well; but after 10 mins of waiting they hung up on me. I run a business using my mobile and over those 3-4 days I lost money because customers couldn't get through. I just really want to get out of my contract with no early exit fees. I'm currently waiting for Vodafone to make contact after lodging a complaint with the Telco Ombusman, but I'm not holding my breath

I want to be on vodafone but I just hope I get better service. Its hard to complain since I want to get the plan anyway. They also overcharged my first month but I just didnt bother making a complaint, cause I'll be put on hold for another half an hour anyway!

I have reccently changed to Optus due to never ending problems with Vodafone. I can be on the phone and suddenly have my call drop out and then try to make calls and they keep failing. My friend then tried to call me back and got a different person. This has happened to me on many occasions yet no one at Vodafone can ever offer any assistance. I was unable to make calls (including emergency calls)and could only receive some txts for over 24hrs. When I went in to the nearest voafone store they informed me there was an issue which was being resolved but they could not tell me what the issue was and when it would be resolved. Since I couldn't make or receive calls I had no way of getting updates. They also told me I may be able to get compensation however I had to call their customer service number. I tried this once my phone was working again however after being transferred from several departments and waiting on hold for and extended period of time I gave up. In the end I was tired of terrible reception, bad customer service, randomly not getting voice messages for days and very slow internet so I gave up on Vodafone.

Our small company used to have Telstra as our provider so I can fairly compare the reception and problems we have encountered since the switch to Vodaphone. We both had to go in and have their staff reset our iphones, we even had one replaced, hoping that would 'cure' our reception problem. It didnt. Finally, one of the staff, told us 'offline' that it wasnt the phones, it was the service. They had oversold it and were saturated.
We have had issues with our customers calling us and not getting through, having their voicemails take hours or even a day to register on the phone.
Absolutely everything I have read I can concur with. Is a shame. I have recently immigrated here from the States and this coverage would shame any legitimate cell phone company.
Once the contract is finished we will be switching providers. Hopefully a little bit more competition will be in the market by then and we wont have to deal with this nonsense.

My wife and i had 3 mobile phones with 3. Since they merged with vodafone we experienced coverage problems. We had reduced coverage for about 6 months. The previous 7 years to this happening we always had 5 bars of reception. We suddenly lost all reception completely for about 4 days on all 3 of our mobiles. We were 9 months into a 2 year contract with 3/vodafone. many phone calls later and they were still blaming the handsets and not the network. We even got three new sim cards which did nothing to fix the issue. Finally i had enough and 1 more phone call explaining i had three mobiles im front of me with new sim cards they finally excepted that it was the network and not my handsets. I got all 3 contracts terminated with no exit fee. All i had to do was return the handsets in an envelope they supplied me. Does not make up for 6 months of bad coverage but at least i do not have to deal with them anymore. I have since moved to telstra. FULL RECEPTION!!! Keep arguing with vodafone and you can get your contract cancelled with no cancellation fee!

I have been attempting to set up a small computer repair shop for some time.
I finally was on call with my dream supplier. The phone dropped out. They said they will not supply some one who hangs up on them or can not keep adequate phone communication.

28 Dec 2010 12:26:25 AM: I;m an Idependent ACN Representative,I understand how everyone are totally dissatisfied with the Vodaphone phone, internet and customer service qualities.
29 Dec 2010 11:27:36 AM: Fuck the desperate for a sale scavenger trolls are out and lurking...don't these fucksticks realize no one will speak to them from here? Probably why he works for acn and not vodafone

3939 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Beyond beliefe fail! at 27 Dec 2010 04:56:23 PM
I stupidly have my internet and mobile phone through Vodafone. Coverage from my house is absolutely craptacular most of the time for both internet and phone. I can't make a phone call in my local shopping mall. To bad if I was getting attacked in the carpark because there is noooo coverage under there. I was sent some picture text from a mate on Christmas day. It's now the 27th and i'm still waiting for them. My internet has to be hung out the window for it to work.
3926 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is mobile broadband at 27 Dec 2010 04:54:19 PM
I purchased mobile broadband in Aucust 2010 (prepaid ) with 6G on it for $100. Bonus i thought the 6G lasted for 3 months. Since October when my first 6G ran out I have notices that a 4G top up will only last me 6 days? can anyone tell me is this normal? I have called vodafone, been into the store where i purchased my broadband from and no one can answer my question!I use my internet on average 2hrs a day. I also bought a fone on plan didn't recieve my bill via e-mail as stipulated in my contract. When i try to call vodafone im always on hold for more than 45mins, and you speck to people that can't speak english. I'm just feed up !!!!
3925 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is A joke!! at 27 Dec 2010 04:54:17 PM
Are trying over and over to contact vodafone, I could never get through. I had nothing but problems & obviously they didn't care. I had enough of it dropping out and my calls failing. I run a business and vodafone failed to delivered what was promised. They are a pathetic excuse for a company & even the staff in store have a 'I don't care' attitude. They are certainly not about keeping their customers happy as their slogan states. They should be shut down!!
3923 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Not at all at 27 Dec 2010 04:53:54 PM
There is no issue with Vodafone at all, I have been a customer for 2 years and the service and coverage have been nothing more then exceptional. The people out there who have time to waste complaining about trivial issues such as this, should really over christmas find some joy and start enjoying this time of year. INSTEAD of sitting online and complaining. HAPPY HOLIDAYS.
27 Dec 2010 05:04:18 PM: You are sadly, sadly, sadly mistaken. I have stood next to a person and they had 4 bars on their iphone for coverage while my Vodaphone iphone had NO SERVICE.
Is not trivial when this is the phone you use for business and your customers think you are ignoring their call and voicemail.

27 Dec 2010 05:06:11 PM: Ummmm ok. One happy customer. There's hope Vodafone.
PS Vodafone CEO Nigel Dew has admitted that there are issues. As an employee of Vodafone or a reseller or whatever you are, why don't you bat it out with him.
Now if you are really a satisfied CUSTOMER (which I doubt), why don't you let us all know what suburb you live in so that we can test coverage there.

27 Dec 2010 05:32:58 PM: Are you a Vodacrap employee? If you think not being able to make a phonecall is trivial then you really need to pull your head out of your arse & have a good look around.
28 Dec 2010 08:24:16 AM: Okay own up, who let the Mormans in?
3915 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is CRAP at 27 Dec 2010 04:52:46 PM
Signed up with Vodafone in April. Was told as long as I am in, or near a regional city, coverage would not be a problem. I live 30 minutes north of Brisbane and my phone drops out ALL the time and my mobile internet is as fast as dial up, when I actually can get a signal.
3912 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is fail at 27 Dec 2010 04:52:32 PM
So were can I start - Purchas 2 blackberry phones live din Cairns guess what poor service - complained they did not listen- moved back home to brisbane north and same issue poor service / coverage. Called vodafail several times took them 4 months to investigate the issue finally they agreed we lived in a "black spot area" all coverage is a black spot for vodafail!!! So I ported one number to telstra and cancelled the other and they agreed to this but what happened next is they continued to send me a bill (after I waited on the vodafail phone line for 30 minutes then I was transferred to india and I was hung up on - spoke to a supervisor and i was promised this would be fixed drama after drame this has now been going on the 7 months and guess what I just received on the 10th of December another bill !!!!!!! they have no idea it is now the 27th of december and I am currently on hold as I am tyoing this (I have now been on hold foe 40 minutes) I wonder what this phone call will bring what a mess - Vodafail is a disgrace - their service is a joke their coverage is a disgrace - something needs to be done !!!
