Dear visitor,
Since its inception Vodafail.com has made a significant
contribution towards raising awareness of the problems and issues faced
by Vodafone customers.
Vodafone Australia customers have had the opportunity to voice their concerns, their fears and their troubles from every corner of Australia and beyond our borders.
You have gathered the courage to stand up for your rights as consumers and to make your voice heard.
Each and every person who shared their story should have a sense of pride in this achievement and the changes that have occurred since the start of Vodafail.com.
More recently, traffic to Vodafail.com has declined significantly.
Having achieved the goal of raising awareness and promoting concrete action in early 2011, we have now reached the point of closing Vodafail to new complaints.
The site will remain online for as long as possible as a
reminder and an example of what is possible when we share our experiences.
It has been a privilege to run this initiative
and I'm am forever grateful for the help and support I've received. In
particular I would like to thank Melissa, David and Travis for their
continued efforts over the past 15 months. I'm also thankful and humbled by the support of ACCAN, Choice magazine and a wide range of media outlets, blogs and websites.
You can still browse existing stories and find out how to file a complaint if you are experiencing problems.
Until next time,
Adam Brimo

Went in store to update my contract, and get a new iphone 4. Got told in store they only have iphones instore for new customers, so if i want one i have to ring customer support. Rang customer support, and got told i have to wait 3 weeks for it to arrive, as they were out of stock. still got charged for my plan for 3 weeks, and when it arrived, phone kept heating up and burning my face. Rang customer support AGAIN, explained the problem, and had to wait ANOTHER 3 weeks for a new iphone 4. finally got that iphone, but instead of sending 1, they sent 2 iphones, rand customer support straight away, and was told that they would send an envelope, to send the 2nd iphone back. Then waited 2 weeks, no envelope, so irang again, explained the situation (again) and they said the same thing. waited another 2 weeks. still nothing. rang again, repated the process, and was supposed to get an envelope. needless to say its 3 months later, and i still have an iphone 4 in box sitting in my house. Tried to do the honest thing. each phone call, had me on hold for over an hour each time.Customer service were rude and no help at all. AND even worse, im stuck on the plan for another 2 years. changing to optus asap.
27 Dec 2010 03:51:08 PM: and just to make it worse... iphone constantly has no reception 90 percent of the time, so its useless to me anyway. tried going instore, they tell me to ring customer service, tried ringing, i get put on hold, tried emailing, they tell me to ring. fuck vodafone!

I have upgraded from an Iphone to a Sumsung Galaxy, I agreed to continue paying off the Iphone MONTHLY as well as the Galaxy, I am fine with this it's what I agreed to. I recieved my bill and it showed I owed on the 14th of December for $1,200 since then I have been contacting Vodafone to get the matter sorted but I either have to wait 40 minutes until someone answers or over an hour before they call back. when I spoke to Vodafone about their mistake they claimed I agreed to pay out the Iphone for $1000 this is not true, I advised them to check their phone recordings which they claim they don't always record their calls. I advised them to call during my lunch break,,,they failed they called me while I was working...I advised them to call me back the next day as I was on holidays telling me they sorted the problem,. They still haven't. When they did call me back, they transfered me through to another department so I could speak to someone else, but I was on hold for 6 minutes. I still have not had the problem sorted out and it is the 27th of December...

3269 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Absolutely Pathetic. at 27 Dec 2010 03:49:02 PM
I went to Vodafone in August of 08, thinking nothing bad of Vodafone after what the Vodafone representitive told me once i signed on the dotted line. After no more than a week into the contract i was already facing repeption issues. Delayed txt messages, incoming and outgoing calls failing, and a whole bunch of "we don't want to hear your problems" from Vodafone customer service.
It think something needs to be done about Vodafone. I was told a whole bunch of misleading information when i was in the Vodafone store, all that just so they could get another customer. Vodafone was the biggest waste of time EVER.

I am on a mobile internet contract that I never use - it takes forever to connect and once it finally does, it runs at a glacial pace, then after a couple of minutes it drops out, and I can't reconnect. I have given up, and bought a Telstra pre-paid internet sim (which works like a dream) - but am stuck paying out my 2 year Vodafone contract for nothing!

Messages are delayed. Reception breaks up constantly as of about 4-6 weeks ago, calls drop out constantly as of 4-6 weeks ago. VERY FRUSTRATING!!! Up until then we were very happy with Vodaphone for the previous 3 years. I initially thought it was my phone, but now I find out the problems are widespread. My entire extended family is on Vodaphone prepaid (about 18 of us) so if the problems don't get fixed soon we'll easily be able to change carriers. (Sorry for all you guys on plans!)
3249 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Overbilling at 27 Dec 2010 03:46:06 PM
I have been overbilled by vodaphone, to the tune of $1253, charges applied over and above the agreed cap which I signed up to. I can't afford legal advice so I am paying it off at an agreed amount each fortnight. This is an example of how companies like this take advantage of those at the lower end of the market
3245 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is very fail at 27 Dec 2010 03:45:40 PM
i have been with vodafone for years now but have become very irritated by them recently when people have been trying to contact me the calls go straight to voicemail and i have been looking for a job if an employer has tried to get a hold of me and could not that would be very bad. i have also been displeased with my internet lately it keeps cutting out and saying unable to connect due to reception cutting out not pleased.

Tried to talk to customer service for 2 weeks. No answers. SWitched to Optus but Vodafone want release my number. It has been seven days so far.
I am disabled & just out of hospital & need a phone for emergency contact.
From a Vodafone Shop I Spoke to some one with a very heavy accent & I think he said there was an elephant stampede that chased cobras out of the jungle & they bit the technicians. Not exactly sure but I know it was some crap!

We were told we would get coverage in our area an that's the only reason we signed up!

3241 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Epic Fail at 27 Dec 2010 03:45:19 PM
I live less than half an hour out of a major city but I seem to be in a black hole which is the same size and shape of my house. Everytime I need to make or answer a call I have to go over to the park across from my house because the range coverage is better there than anywhere in my house or yard. I'm just really tired of not being able to make or answer a call inside my house.

Bought new Samsang Wave on a plan - use phone, text and email with some internet. Phone fails spectacularly after only a few weeks. Vodafone dealer takes phone - says it will take TEN WEEKS to REPAIR and be returned. hands me a "LOANER PHONE" worth $10.00 yet demands a $100.00 deposit! this crappy phone hs no smart features and I have no mobile access to email! GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE and a fabulous way to build loyalty!

3146 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Practically non-existent at 27 Dec 2010 03:32:59 PM
WE travelled from Gold Coast to Sydney in September, and had coverage nowhere but in the major towns. Coverage was practically non-existent all the way down the coast. Having driven up and down the coast many times over the years, we have never had such bad coverage. We also have coverage only about 50% of the time in our home, on the Gold Coast. This seems to be getting worse and worse. I will never use Vodafone again, after our current contract expires. It is the worst I have ever encountered.
3137 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Silent night for Xmas at 27 Dec 2010 03:32:03 PM
oops, forgot to pay a bill on time. Had call-barring activated on my phone. Shame on me. Paid bill, call-barring wasn't lifted during the day. Tried to ring a few times but my calls weren't answered when I finally got the ringing tone (twice), Popped into a Voda store and asked if/when call-barring would be lifted. The dude said it would automatically be lifted at midnight. Next morning (Christmas eve) phone still had call-barring. Tried ringing Voda again, more dropped help line calls. Christmas Day rolls around, and I've still got call-barring activated. Can't make calls or send SMSs to loved ones. Thanks Vodafone. I really appreciate that. Seems that paying for a premium Vodafone account doesn't come with premium service.
3128 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is waste of money at 27 Dec 2010 03:30:54 PM
I am sorry that I re-signed another contract with Vodafone a year ago. I have another year left and have had to use a Telstra prepaid just to be able to keep in touch. I gave up on trying to use the internet as it was a waste of time and could not do anything with it, another waste of money. I am a disgruntled Vodafone customer and cannot wait until my contract is up!
3127 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is not at all at 27 Dec 2010 03:30:48 PM
i work for vodafone. i have also seen the coverage plans proposed in the coming months, the network coverage nearly triples, then we'll see whose a fail. so what if you drop one call. have a cry. If you have an iphone 4, that is your own stupid fault, sheep!
27 Dec 2010 03:36:29 PM: Congrats for standing up for your employer, it's nice to see some dedication - but don't dare blame the iPhone4 for lack of network coverage!!!
Unless you mean to tell me that every single outcry posted on this website is an iPhone4 user, you're a fool for trying to blame one on the manufacturer rather than the service.
Unless you mean to tell me that every single outcry posted on this website is an iPhone4 user, you're a fool for trying to blame one on the manufacturer rather than the service.

I do hope your team sees this.
I do hope your team sees this.
27 Dec 2010 03:40:57 PM: hold an iphone 4 next to a desire HD. Look at the difference. should be around 2 bars. So yes i will dare to blame iphone 4. PS. hold an iphone 4 how its meant to be held
27 Dec 2010 03:42:15 PM: so they're fleccing their employees with proposed coverage maps too are they? So when you say 'triple', do you mean that they'll be covering more regional areas? Because their coverage maps currently indicate that the majority of metropoliatn areas are currently covered. So what's the real truth Einstein?
27 Dec 2010 03:46:06 PM: Netwrok coverage better tripple you god damn bitch !!
27 Dec 2010 03:47:53 PM: BAHAHHAHAHAHA "Coming plans in a few months and the network coverage will <insert number here> multiply" - hunny I've been with Vodafone since April 2004 and I can prove in your companys brochures that you've been saying this FOR YEARS and where the hell is the service to date?!!?!??!?? See the Piper Alderman law suit currently against Vodafone? That's how well your companys promises pan out.
27 Dec 2010 03:53:10 PM: people people people. turn 3g off on your phone and see what happens. the only problem lies with 3g. see how many people shut their mouths now. retards make assumptions and don't know the facts. fuck its funny
27 Dec 2010 03:54:19 PM: That is funny .... I'm not sure if you are for real or not??? Either you are trying to stir suffering people or really work for Vodafail ..... After dealing with Vodafail for seven months (finally got out of a contract two weeks ago) I could believe you work for them!
27 Dec 2010 04:01:17 PM: Fuck some people write some bullshit! Who give two flying fucks about an i-Phone-4 or 3G ? At the end of the day, THOUSANDS of people are paying for a Vodafone network service that they're NOT receiving. Hence why Vodafone is being sued. Time to face the facts you retards, no wonder why you work for Vodafail! Here's a handy hint from the wise: start looking for new jobs before the company burn to ash in Australia!
28 Dec 2010 08:21:46 AM: Your a f*$cking gimp if you actually believe Iphone 4's are responsible for this level of retaliation against you employer. I've had Samsung, Nokia(6) and Motorola(2) phones with Vodafail living in 4 different metro locations, but never an Iphone4. Funnily enough I've never had good reception either. Loser, get a real job.
28 Dec 2010 11:11:37 AM: Completely agree - we're paying for network service we're not receiving!!! We shouldn't have to buy a specific phone, nor adjust our phone settings, just to get some reception!

I always experience no network amd drop out calls in forest lake and its surrounding suburbs. I was so frustrated that i throw my cell fone to release my anger. Also during my holiday overseas the roaming calls work for a week and then it becomes disconnected.
3105 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Complete fail at 27 Dec 2010 03:28:10 PM
My calls sometimes drop out every 6 minutes or they drop out several times during a call. It is ridiculous and frustrating. Also it decides to lose service half way through a phone call and the only way to fix it is to re-start my phone. Also the absence of reception at places u would expect reception, eg stradbroke island, was shocking and unexpected.

3087 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Terrible. The worst I've ever had. at 27 Dec 2010 03:26:06 PM
I've only been a customer for two months. In metro areas the signal drops out and the 3G Internet is extremely slow. Thank heavens I only have 22 months left on my contract. I am on the unlimited plan and have 3 gb of Internet data per month. I recently watched one day if the Perth test on my phone and it's lucky the match ended early as it used 2 gb of data. I had to pay for the privilege of watching the match and on top of that they would of charged me my first born if I had if watched the full match. Maybe Vodafone should not include the streaming as counted download for their customers. Very dissapointing as I can't watch the match that is currently in progress as I am close to exceeding my monthly data limit. Overall Vodafone's network is terrible and I only expect it would get far worse further away from metro areas.
3081 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is pathetic at 27 Dec 2010 03:25:21 PM
I live on Bribie island which is between Brisbane and the sunshine coast. On a clear day I can see Brisbane! And the Vodafone map says I get coverage. Yet my coverage is almost non-existent. In most rooms in the house I get no coverage. In the rooms I get coverage I will loose it if I put the phone in a pocket

I do not get proper reception. I have had a contract with vodaphone for 2 years and then they gave a deal to renew the contract when actually i was tired of it. looking at the deal i renewed the contract and i was also promised of better service but the result same....pathetic...i wont recommend any of my friends to go in a contract with vodaphone since the suffering and the mess i have been with them. i think i still have 1 more year of sufferings with them.
3040 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Pathetic at 27 Dec 2010 03:20:01 PM
Ive been with vodafone for almost 10 years. The last 18 months there service has been short of nothing disgusting. Like everyone else you ring vodafone and get someone who cant even undertstand what you are saying. Turn off 3g is there typical response, i didnt sign a contract to work with old technology. Make contact on their website and wait for the autmotated response, well done vodafone you really know how to give customer service. Data service i may as well go for a walk around the block and come back and see if it has even loaded a small file. I live in in inner Brisbane you would have thought i live in the middle of nowwhere with the constant dropping out. I could ramble all day. To everyone out there lets take them on they deserve to be taken to task over there pathetic company and its so called customer service

I signed to vodafone 14 days ago , I have tried to get out from the day I was connected .
I have been given every excuse under the sun for the range issues . I have since contacted the TIO to sort this matter out once and for all . I believe problems could be settled far quicker if the vodafone staff members spoke fluent English . The lack of English even frustrates the customers even more !! I complained about range and thier solution was to turn the 3G option off , that's not a solution it's a ban aid !!!
Vodafone set me free so I can move on with my life please

27 Dec 2010 03:53:34 PM: You can break the contract. Tell them you are going to contact the Telecommunications ombudsmen and lodge a complaint for failing to provide the service you signed up for. Also quote them "IT IS AGAINST THE LAW TO ENTER INTO A LEGALLY BINDING CONTRACT IF YOU CAN NOT LIVE UP TO THE SERVICE DESCRIBED"
3034 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Extremely at 27 Dec 2010 03:19:17 PM
My contract expired with vodafone 6 to 8 months ago and they sent me a txt message to alert me that I needed to renew my contract. I was also told that I would receive a "phone upgrade" as I was such a loyal customer. I received a new IPhhone 4 and slim sim card and there began my problems. My fiance works in Papua New Guinea and the new phone would not let me send txt messages to him and calling all the time added extra charges to my $79 cap. At least 20 phone calls later I finally spoke with an Australian Customer Service operator who said that I could send the phone back and when she received it they would cancel my contract and get me to sign up again so I could get a new Nokia Phone. Well I am still waiting and every time I call Customer Service and get an Indian I go spare. NO ONE can tell me if they received the phone back, no one can tell me the details of my phone call with the Australian girl. It is the biggest joke and I am now stuck in a new 2 year contract with Vodafail and NO ONE can help me. I have my old phone, crap service and to top it all off they keep sending me txt messages to say I havn't paid my bills which when I check my bank the money has been direct debited from my account. So as far as "SERVICE" goes, Vodafone does not comply. I hope they go down in a big way.

2984 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is 3G reception at 27 Dec 2010 03:11:55 PM
I cannot keep my phone on 3G, it keeps dropping from 3G. I've had numerous people complain that my phone was switched off or unavailable, when it was not.
I have been able to get around this by turning 3G off. But this means I cannot get decent speed on web browsing.
For $70 a month its not acceptable and now they are offering $45 unlimited plans, so the network will become even more sluggish.

28 Dec 2010 05:20:25 PM: Don't happen to live in Ipswich do you?
My dropouts were so bad that I couldn't even retrieve 1 message from message bank without the call ending halfway through. After 5 attempts I went to a Vodafone shop and was told that the tower in Ipswich had a 3G problem and that it had been this way since October.
Apparently Techs are aware of this but not sure when it will be repaired. It's now Dec 28th and still no joy.
To overcome the problem I had to switch off the 3G side and my phone works fine, however it of course now affects my data speed and the data was one of the reason I phoned up with them in the first place.

I am a crazy johns customer..wish i wasn't. As we all know crazy johns uses the vodafone network. I am on the $79 unlimited cap, which includes 2GB data. There's not much point having 2GB data when it doesn't let you download anything over 5mb.
Furthermore, its a guessing game as to which messages actually reach recepitents, as well as messages i recieve from other people not always reaching me.
- Phone calls dropping out
- Cant download files
- Messages not being recieved
- Messages not being sent, even though it says they are.
While were on the subject, lets not all forget the Indian Operators, that almost every single phone carrier is using these days. If you have an issue, there's not point calling someone in India, as they 100% of the time have no idea whats going on, or just tell you "we are working to resolve this issue."

2928 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Internet connection all just a big lie at 27 Dec 2010 02:58:54 PM
After being guaranteed good Internet coverage in our area, we signed up for 24 months contract. All we have received is continuous dropouts, we cannot sustain a connection long enough to sign into email or read email, we receive a speed of less than 400 kbps and after numerous discussions with vodafone, they agreed not to charge us for Internet until the network was upgraded, we received a bill for $800 just before christmas and when we complained they could find no record of our arrangement with them. Each time we call they have no record of our calls or discussions and each time we have to start the story over again. Even though someone confirmed verbally that we did not have to pay the $800.00 bill (they left a voicemail message) the company deny knowing the staff member who left the message. Thanks vodafone for your utter incompetence.
2918 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Frustrating at 27 Dec 2010 02:56:25 PM
I have been a vodafone customer for more than 10 years originally prepaid switched to a post paid plan and that was fine too took a wireless broadband contract as unable to get other internet services at my new address all worked fine for the first couple of months then slowly over the last few months the reception and signal problems have started both of these devices run on the same network however at times I can have 3g coverage on my internet and my phone has dropped to SOS other times my phone will have full 3g coverage and I can't connect the internet. That's fine I understand that it's wireless service and at times the reception will be unstable but it is getting worse and happening more frequently. My biggest problem is with the customer service had a problem with my most recent bill and spent 4 1/2 hours on hold before someone answered my call, on the positive side the person I spoke with was polite and has hopefully fixed the billing issue but I won't know until I get my next bill!
2908 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Credit Back Mark at 27 Dec 2010 02:54:03 PM
Many years ago, I was with vodabone as I call them, and I had a phone on a contract. Originally handset repayments were to come out on the 21st of the month. 3 months into the contract, they were attempting to debit anywhere for the 14th to the 28th of the month. Eventually they sent it to a collection agent, which I enentally paid. This was 3 years ago now, and I STILL have a black mark. Which has stopped Me from obtaining any form of credit.
2891 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is worst service ever! at 27 Dec 2010 02:51:36 PM
Bad reception was just the beginning with Vodaphone, they also tried to tell me I was on a 24 month contract when I only signed up for 12 months... I took me about two weeks of running around on my lunch breaks sitting in their store waiting on hold endlessly before they finally conceded that they were wrong. When my phone broke it took months to repair during which time I was not provided with any handset but still had to keep paying my cap. Then when it finally came back nothing had actually been fixed... in the end I just gave up on them, they're worse than Telstra!
2888 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Off the scale at 27 Dec 2010 02:51:14 PM
Ever since I've been with vodafail I've had nothing but problems. The phone they sold me was shite to start with and they didn't want to get involved. Said it was a manufacturing problem now they had sold it on! The reception is awful in any built up area. Blackspots! Huh...the whole of QLD seems to be a blackspot where Vodafail is concerned! I can't even get out of the contract without having to spend more money. Six months to go and counting then I'm moving to another provider.
28 Dec 2010 05:56:32 PM: I just went on a Vodafone contract with the new Iphone4. Ever since I have had it have had numerous amounts of problems with reception, phone cutting out and messages arriving and receiving late. No matter where I am usually have a maximum of 2 bars. My mates are all ways saying " when are you going to get a new phone" Nothing wrong with the phone as other services work perfectly on my mates.n Absolutely shithouse!!
28 Dec 2010 09:18:23 PM: anyone who has an ifone4 should be aware that the have a crap receiver (factory admission). I'm not defending voadafone but the shit design by apple doesn't help things either!
29 Dec 2010 08:01:23 AM: i actually get better service with he iPhone 4! (its still shitty!)when i got the phone i was aware but i was over nokia's......but pretty much ALL of the ''N'' series phones are a fail too...
29 Dec 2010 10:42:20 AM: Hey anti-apple fan boi, I have an iphone4 on 3 and have never had a reception problem. I can even receive and make calls in carpark basements. It's not the iPhone. Have you ever made phone or electrical device that has sold in the hundreds of millions? So shut the fuck up already.
29 Dec 2010 01:05:15 PM: If iphone 4 wasnt such a problem with reception why is it they are sold with a bumper to prevent drop in coverage you clown. Hope you are all enjoying your cheap phone plans, if it wasnt for competition you all would be still paying for handsets outright and paying through the nose for calls. Wake up you pack of idiots, the country needs companies like Vodafone. Albeit they are having problems at the moment i can tell you Telstra and Optus have experienced the same problems and will again. You pack of idiots think about it, what has Telstra offered you? A tax payer funded network and still the most expensive network.

Finally gave Vodafone the flick 2 months ago after having some 6 months plus of near zero network coverage in not only my home, but my suburb! Works fine in Brisbane. But if I was shopping down the road from home - there was no chance of finding out if I'd forgotten anything.. A few months earlier than that I was lucky enough to be shopping and call home, then have it cut out mid sentence..
Between "no coverage" and random drop outs - I'd had enough!
Am now with the opposition with better coverage on a comparable product - wish I'd made the move earlier..
For the record I'd moved across the ditch with V as my mobile provider and initially they were excellent - if you're considering signing up with Vodafail - DON'T!!

2860 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is poor coverage at 27 Dec 2010 02:46:42 PM
the vodafone coverage is very questionable. i live on the southside of brisbane and very rarely do i get a full signal strength. i can drive to our friends place 3k's up the road and have no signal nothing. this is not out in the sticks in suburbia, what if there was an emergancy and i needed to use my mobile. the number of times i been unable use my fone is terrible. also i signed up to a $69 plan but i've never paid that. it's always a bit more, just a $ here a $ there. then ther was the debacle when i went to hawaii, had the fone set to global roaming no worries , was told the charges for calls and text then when we got home there was a bill for $1500 for five day's of internet usage 103 mb. when i questioned it i was told they charge 1cent per kb i was a bit shocked but hey i used it so no worries i'll pay no questions. yeh no i was told to pay $1200 now or they would cut it off when i said it was a direct debit just take when the bill was due in 5 weeks the paki on the line said no money now or no fone i said but it is not even due yet he said tuff , a fortnight later they cut it off same deal when i reconnected had to pay the $1200 and then it took a week and a half of fone calls for them to flick it on, not happy jan i'm over vodafone as soon as my contract is up i'm gone. maybe they should spend more money on there coverage instead of racing around a frigen race track.

I love this website! I have been with vodafone now for about 5 years in Brisbane and the sunshine coast and thought they were quite good. In april I got two 3gs iphones on a 2year plan. Since then there reception has been going downhill. One moment i can have full reception the next none?!?! Were I live and work says I should have full coverages according to their maps, but most of the time I either have no reception or 2G. I have text messages and voicemail that don't appear all the time. Not to mention calls continually dropping out!
Will be moving to the dark side (Telstra) soon.

I live in Brisbane northern suburbs. Literally 10 mins from the city. I rarely have over one bar of reception. If my call is over 5 mins it will most likely drop out. My 3G never works properly or is slow at the best of times. Emails fail to download sometimes. I love how my coverage is consistently poor and nothing is done but as soon as i miss a payment vodafone is alllll over it.

when I first got a plan with vodafone they were one of the best carriers in Australia now they are worse than Telstra when you try to contact then you get Lara and a complete computer runabout coverage drops out constantly sometimes for two or three days on end with no coverage for sombody with medical problems this can definately be a worry. When this contract is up next year I will definately go looking elsewhere
2840 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is fixed at 27 Dec 2010 02:41:00 PM
Using vodafone for work has left me constantly without service. On the Gold Coastyou can not hold a conversation for longer than 2 minutes. often calls dont even ring and just hit message bank 24 hours later. This means I am constantly have to call people back. And 3G? what a joke. I have yet to complete one task on my phone via 3G. Cant believe they can sell it! However, I found the one fix and left - breaking contract but I'd rather waste that money and get a proper service than keep putting up with the rubbish!!

2 months ago I bought a $99 vodafone wireless dongle with 6 gig to use over 12 months at home. It rarely ever connects to the 3G network and always drops off to the GPRS network which is slower than dial up. My house mate has optus wireless with perfect connection and my iPhone has full 3G connection from Three. Now I thought Three and vodafone used the same 3G network which is run off the optus 3G network. So I don't understand why my voda dongle can't even get 1 bar on the 3G network. What a f*cking waste of money and time waiting for pages to load. Not happy

2818 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is in need of a customer service overhaul. at 27 Dec 2010 02:34:11 PM
I'll be honest, I have been with Vodafone for nearly 24 months and haven't had any serious problems. Sure, my calls drop out, but I just call back. Sure, internet can be slow etc, but I accept most of these things as part of life. But in November Vodafone started calling me to advise I was within 3 months of the end of my contract and could renew early to get a new handset, get a better plan etc. This sounded like a good idea as I could get a new phone to give to my eldest daughter for Christmas, so I started looking at handsets and checking out plans, then I started going into the store to talk to people, get a feel for the handsets and find out the ins and outs of renewing my contract. Everything was rosy, and I was quite a satisfied, happy customer. Early into December I had decided on a handset, and was assured it was readily available (no, not an iPhone) and there would be no problem coming in to get it anytime. I went in every week leading up to Christmas, same story, just re-sign for 24months, get the phone, no worries. So, I went in on Tuesday 21st December to be told that I could not get that handset anymore, until after Christmas. Not because they were out of stock (I had been checking this), but because Vodafone Head Office had made a decision 2 days earlier to only sell these handsets outright, not to use them for renewing contracts. I WAS ANGRY!!!! So, this is where the problems started. I then attempted calling, but this was a ridiculous waste of my time, so I tried using email, but had to try 3 times to work out the way to actually get it through (as you all pprobably know, the "contact us" email is a nightmare of filling out numbers, codes and passwords). Its a STOOPID system! I still haven't heard back, and to be fair it is Christmas time, so I expect and accept they are busy and on holidays, but the system is STILL STOOPID!! Anyway, now the contract I was going to get this phone on has been pulled, and it is now $10/month dearer PLUS $5/month handset cost! What a RORT!! So, not only did I not get the handset for Christmas as I had been assured for weeks that I could, the contract has gone up $10, the handset now costs $5 on this more expensive contract, and I cannot contact anyone to get some resolution! Vodafone has until February to turn me around and show me they care and will make this right, or it will simply be back to Optus for me.
2817 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is bad at 27 Dec 2010 02:34:09 PM
I live in Townsville - the largest city in Northern Australia. I go to one of the local shopping centres and at one en, I can make phone calls but at the other end I cannot. Apparently this is because the signal for Vodaphone is OK near the Vodaphone shop but is not strong enough to reach the 100mtrs that is the other end of the centre. I can also be driving in the centre of the city and my signal is non-existant. Apparently this is because we have a big hill in the centre of the city! I would have thought a big hill = a tower site = better signal!!!

I am currently with vodafone and CONSTANLY having trouble with my calls droping out and not having service, i am always walking around the house, going out in the back yard, down the driveway, up the driveway, in the next door neighbours driveway, down the street, up the street, trying to get coverage! I don't even want to repeat what everyone else has been saying about crap service, voicemail notifications being days late, delayed texts etc. What I do want to complain about is the damn text message adverts they send in the middle of the night. 3am is a stupid time to receive ads and despite calling Vodafone 4 times to request that I be removed from their contact list and being told it's done, I'm still getting the messages. Also, despite using every available means to turn off voicemail including calling Vodafone, people are still able to leave messages. I even had to phone myself from a landline to check a phone number and got a frigging busy signal! Not good enough.

A few years ago I was with Vodafone. Due to their online facilities being inadequate in saving peoples updated details and when I finally gave the company the flick for their seriously lacking reception [which was costing me hundreds of dollars in lost wages each week] I get a debt collection company chasing me for missed bills that I had never received as their online facility and in-store staff had not updated my details correctly. I now have a black mark against my name for leaving the contract early and never receiving the bills to my new address to pay. I was never contacted by Vodafone directly before they handed the issue over to a debt collection company.
Overall, the service I had received from Vodafone was dreadful and I've encouraged everyone I've spoken to to leave them as soon as they could.
A friend of mine is currently having the same issue with them not updated their details correctly and bills going unpaid due to not receiving the bill.

We have no signal at home, and I have asked Vodafone when it will improve. No answer. My voice mail arrives days late. Calls often drop, and are difficult to make. My phone is a glorified toy.
I was charged a massive amount of money for a 50mb data download, and was forced to get a data bundle to avoid this again. The data quality is unusable and so I am paying $10 a month for a service I can not use.
My wife is upset, as she feels she is unable to contact me in an emergency.
I once had to find a tower and park next to it to make a urgent call.
I have already asked Telstra about getting a new contact, and will never use Vodafone again, once my contract is up.
Oh well, I am not alone.

I am so sick and tired of NOT being able to retrieve any emails, or use facebook or any other application on my phone. I give up every time. Many texts are not being received - eg today Monday 27th I received two texts - one from 20th Dec and one from 25 Dec. I am not receiving many calls at all and they appear as a voicemail some days afte the call had been plced to me. I also have USB broadband on my home computer. I have to restart my computer, and replace the USB several times a day to enable the signal to pick up, and usually it says 'very poor'. Often it has dropped out whilst in the middle of filling in a form or searching the net or writing an email for business. I work from home and find this EXTREMELY unprofessional and irritating. Each time I have called into a Vodafone shop I am told that the problem is because Vodafone is upgrading and it will be even better than before, next week. 'Next Week' was 2 months ago and I have been told the same thing in several stores.

My account is due to turn over on the 19th of every month, I checked my balance on 16th to find I still had $28.00. I checked my bill after the 19th to find they started charging full fees for txts from the 16th. I then had to pay an extra $22.00. When trying to contact them I can't get through due to the high amount of calls coming in (no doubt complaints), at one stage I waited 30mins then to get some Indian that struggled to understand my problem.........every time I go past a lamp post the coverage drops out.

I am currently with vodafone and CONSTANLY having trouble with my calls droping out and not having service, i am always walking around the house, going out in the back yard, down the driveway, up the driveway, in the next door neighbours driveway, down the street, up the street, trying to get coverage! My family is with vodafone and they ALL have the same trouble so we have all decided to go with a different network as we are all well and truly OVER vodafone and it's DIGUSTING coverage and service!

I was told 2 yrs ago they were updating mobile service to my area, which gets bugger all signal BUT if you walk all the way up the back of the property you may get 1 bar of signal :/ To this day, we are no better off... no mobile coverage decent enuff for even a 1 minute phone call, maybe i should be impressed if i can send a txt, after upteen resends? AND a recent gripe....!!! A previous bill, that was paid over 3 ago, is still being deemed "outstanding"... unfu**in believable! After being kept on hold for 38 mins to resume this problem, i hung up, and gave into the fact that Vodafone doesn't give a toss bout it's customers, as long as they get their $$$... we can all go to hell!!!!

I thought that when they merged with 3 that would be a good thing, shared infrastructure etc...sadly not. Its upto the gods, when I sit in my home office (15k from the Brisbane CBD) and take (never mind make) a call. Went into the VODA stores and got 2 lame excuses of network issues and promisory fixes. I just heard the news today about the class action...I don't want money back, I just want to leave the carrier. I'll never recommend VODA to ANYONE...funny same as builder I had a couple of years back :)

It took me four months to get Vodafone to admit their wireless broadband network was not working and to refund my money. FOUR MONTHS of navigating through Lara and waiting on hold. In the end, when they admitted their network wasn't working and knew it wasn't working I asked them why they were still signing up customers, to which I received no answer.
The worst experience was when I went to a Vodafone store to take back my faulty phone, which was under warranty, and the sales woman refused to take it back. She clearly didn't like having someone in her store that wasn't buying anything and made a big deal about not taking back the phone. She was yelling at the top of her lungs at me, almost screaming at me, while her staff members looked at her in fear and a man who was shopping for a phone looked on in disbelief.
I've only got a few months of the contract left. I can't wait to change to a telco. where my calls don't drop out all the time and where I won't be treated like shit.

I went and signed up for the mobile broadband. Told them that i will be changing address in a few weeks and asked if it will still work in the area that i was moving to(which is literally a 2 minute drive). They told me it would. Moved into new house internet is slow and only works if it feels like it. Rang up "customer care" they told me that it was my fault because I didnt change my address on the bill and I would have to pay $550 to cancel my contract. I was then told that the people that work in cancellations aren't working today and they would ring me back. Well I'm still waiting for that call and that was about 4 months ago.

2739 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Epic FAIL at 27 Dec 2010 02:14:32 PM
I have a loyal Vodafone pre-paid user since 2000. In the area that I live in (Doolandella QLD 4077), the reception is absolutely terrible and can only hear every second word that people say over the phone. I have called up several times out of frustration and i get the same response: 'it's because you're area gives poor reception and it might be that fact that your indoors'.... BULLSHIT!!!!
I live in a normal house with thin walls... if i can get reception there, what chance will i get in a shopping center or building (when in fact, i can get reception in those areas). Furthermore, I have also tried Optus, Telstra and Virgin network around my area and they all work FINE! so... WTF VODA!!! you're meant to be an international network provide yet you can get good reception in our area!!!
Another thing is that the cost of pre-paid service is quite high compared to other network providers. something like 35 cents of the text message.... really? optus is only 10cent and when your on a plan with them, its UNLIMITED!! i'm still a paying customer, so why should i have to pay more!!!!!!!! >:(
the only reason why i still use voda is because my parents are still using it and it's for their convenience to make cheaper voda to voda calls. Other than that, my first preference would have been OPTUS anyday.....

I cant even get any mobile service in some residential areas, for example, on the Logan Motor way near the Compton Road overpass, Toowoomba near Ruthven Street, and I'm sure there are many more reception BLACK spots all around Australia!! Also when I travel near the Jimboomba area, my phone just turns off and restarts again and again until I leave that area, (which was also purchased from a vodafone store). Also I get messages which are days old!! and sending them take days for other people to recieve, would have been quicker to drive round to my friends house and tell them in person!!
.......So YAY for VODA-CRAP!!!

We cannot get any reception at out house and when calls are received no matter where we are in Australia more often than not the calls disconnect. After complaining to Vodafone we have only been told to keep a log of all the problems. Vodafone doesnt care all they want is their money for the length of the contract.
2722 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Absolutely Floored at 27 Dec 2010 02:09:34 PM
I live in an area where we get absolutely little or non reception. My phone allowance is hardly dented as I'm unable to make a call. I did have a wireless usb with Voda and had to complain to the MD to get a total refund. Upon purchasing the phone the sales person show you a map that highlights the "reception area" but it's totally a scam as 1 bar is still classed as reception. You'd think that if you live 5 minutes from a vodaphone shop you'd have reception not the case

Have been with 3 for 2.5 years. Living in the same place however since Vodafone took over 3 my mobile internet drops out more often than it connects. Absolutely over this crap even as I type this small paragraph have had to re-connect twice! In the 2.5 years with 3mobile never once saw this stupid edge roaming crap that I see every couple of minutes with Vodafone! The worst part is I signed a 2 year contract with 3 just before the merge now I am stuck with this useless system for 2 years.

The lack of service in most areas on the goldcoast, cut out calls, and SLOW data connections. We spent 2 months in the USA and though I called to add a data plan before leaving, it was not added and to my surprise, (well not really) we had a $1200.00 phone bill! I called and spent almost 1.5 hours clearing it up, and yes got a credit, but guess what, they charged me $99 for the call I had to make to them! We now have the 2nd bill after returning and YET again issues.... they added the plan, but NOT the right plan, so here we go again....

I have rung the support people on many occasions and they do what ever they do but the situation never gets better. We cannot receive phone calls in our house and have to go outside and even then phone calls drop disconnect. I have been on some important ph calls in Brisbane and the calls have disconnected. Most of my family are with Vodafone and would all like to leave due to the poor reception. My ph no is 0410602563 my sons is 0403804613 one of my other sons is 0432765182.

Well I had always been 110% for vodafone because of other peoples reviews and oppinions but in the last year or so I have had problems with sending messages, calling (making calls and recieving), coverage, internet, scams and random messages from vodafone saying that they hope I stay with my prepaid connection. When sending messages itll sometimes send 4 of the same messages to the same person, or itll delay and my friends/family wont get the message for a few hours or days later. Calling, itll cut out or get no coverage or people will try call me and it wont connect not to mention people will tell me they tried to call me and Id have not one missed call. Like seriously, far out! Too bad I guess if it was an important call or someone in my family DIED! Ill be randomly fiddling with my phone and the coverage will cut out completely, no bars, no nothing. When trying to go on the internet on my phone it wont work from time to time with no explanation not to mention when I tried to buy a song off the internet it wouldnt work or if it did work it would literally take all of my credit. I get random message that they would think are curteous but somehow come across a bit rude saying "We hope you stay with your prepaid connection" or some other crap. I rang the company to discuss these problems about multiple messages and etc and they went through this long speal that it was a problem with my phone even though I told them numerous times, ITS A NEW PHONE! Its frustrating and disgusting, especially considering when we ring up to complain and get someone in ANOTHER COUNTRY like seriously, dont they have enough money to EMPLOY AUSTRALIAN (ENGLISH SPEAKING) Customer Representives. If the inconveniences continue Ill be moving to Optus or another company who know what Customer satisfaction and Customer Service really is! Grrr - Its about time someone stood up.

we subscribed to vodafone prepaid broadband several months ago. i thought the problem which we faced on an ever-repeating fashion (can't connect, too slow speeds, constant drop outs) were based on the fact that we may live in a shadow or too far away from some critical point or that im too short or something but it was sort of relieving that everyone else cops this rubbish service too.
i quickly learnt that there was no point phoning 'we're here for you' vodafone because they dont answer their phone or so it seems and when youre on a mobile phone one gets pretty jack of waiting for noone to answer so one is again left to fend for oneself (on one occasion a few weekends ago i was on a mobile phone (not vodafone thankfully_ for nearly one hour but again gave up. the only thing i learnt about the extraordinarily poor service offered by try to get information out of vodafone (by phone, website and kiosks about town) is that when the little blue light is on my dongle (which is unfortunately quite often)that there is no service.
i not sure if the original message was sent.. ironically coverage dropped out just as i pressed 'Share your pain'

I have had nothing but trouble with vodafone, I have my own business which relies on customers calling me and on many occassions I have been in the middle of a conversation with a new customer and have been cut off, which means I have lost all sales and future sales and service contracts with these customers. I think Vodafone should be held responsible as they are a large company and make all the promises to its customers of providing a good service, but to me it is very poor service, and I'm sure many others will agree!!! I have been with 3 for ages in Qld and never really ahd issues with them when they were backed by Telstra. I travel australia for work and never had problems with signal dropping as it pretty soon picked up telstra roaming and all was good. Now that they are backed by Vodafone , well lets say it's not surprising that the aus cricket team is failing also. I constantly have no signal, or can't acces network. I can't wait to go to telstra for the coverage. I live in the middle of the gold coast and while i expoect 3 to drop every now and then I have nothing due to vodafone's crap service.

Hi,
I used to be a Loyal Vodafone customer, infact they were the company i signed my very first mobile phone with in 1999!
Unfortunately my Loyaltly, after 10yrs of being with them, did NOT pay off and clearly did NOT mean anything! Not only did my calls drop out ALL the time but my txt msg's sometimes would take hours to reach the person i sent them to and sometimes not even reach them at all( but i still got charged for them) and it was the same receiving Txt msg's aswell, my family/friends kept asking me why i hadn't replyed to their msg's and i would say "what msg's i didnt get any msg" the last straw was when i bought a SONY ERICCSON phone which i had to unlock to stay with Vodafone, and was happy to do at the time, but the phone was faulty so i took it back to the shop to either A. get it fixed B. get it replaced. I went for option B. as i needed a phone straight away to use (no one was willing to lend me a ph while my faulty phone was getting fixed) so i got a new replacement ph wich i then had to UNLOCK AGAIN and considering i had been a very LOYAL customer for 10 years with vodafone i thought they might unlock the ph for a small fee or even for NO fee.... I was very wrong vodafone did NOT care at all so i had to pay another $80 to unlock the ph to stay with vodafone.... in the end only after a few months of having the SONY ERICCSON ph all the buttons craked and wouldnt work so i then contacted SONY ERICCSON about the faulty ph but after alot of emails, ph calls and going to thier repair store i have heard nothing and have NOT received any new phone nor have they fixed the phone! that was over a yr ago... I am currently with a new service provider as I am very disappointed in Vodafone and i also will never buy a Sony Ericcson again!!

Lets see, where to begin. For the last few weeks it keeps dropping out on calls, including important ones and then there comes loss of reception. One minute I have reception and then I look at my phone, still in the same spot and there is none. When I inquired about it with vodafone, I was told it must be the area I live in. It happens when Im in the city also so it's not the area. Dont receive some text messages until hours after they're sent which again is bad since sometimes its important ones regarding work. The internet hardly works on the phone and yet I get charged for over usage fees. Its seriously a joke. Once my contract is up, I'm going back to Optus.
