Dear visitor,
Since its inception Vodafail.com has made a significant
contribution towards raising awareness of the problems and issues faced
by Vodafone customers.
Vodafone Australia customers have had the opportunity to voice their concerns, their fears and their troubles from every corner of Australia and beyond our borders.
You have gathered the courage to stand up for your rights as consumers and to make your voice heard.
Each and every person who shared their story should have a sense of pride in this achievement and the changes that have occurred since the start of Vodafail.com.
More recently, traffic to Vodafail.com has declined significantly.
Having achieved the goal of raising awareness and promoting concrete action in early 2011, we have now reached the point of closing Vodafail to new complaints.
The site will remain online for as long as possible as a
reminder and an example of what is possible when we share our experiences.
It has been a privilege to run this initiative
and I'm am forever grateful for the help and support I've received. In
particular I would like to thank Melissa, David and Travis for their
continued efforts over the past 15 months. I'm also thankful and humbled by the support of ACCAN, Choice magazine and a wide range of media outlets, blogs and websites.
You can still browse existing stories and find out how to file a complaint if you are experiencing problems.
Until next time,
Adam Brimo

Live rural and children travel one hour for school and have 15 min of coverage ( this is 15 minutes out of Penrith). Receive messages hours or days later and voicemail when phone has not rang and no missed call message. BAD coverage and long lock in contracts.

I've been with 3 for ages, had no trouble, no problems, but since Vodafone took over have had constant drop outs, am receiving messages hours after they sent, if at all, and on Xmas my daughter (with them too)had reception and I didn't sitting right next to each other! I have had my phone reset, etc, etc, my daughter even got a new phone...not happy!

6780 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Merger at 28 Dec 2010 04:43:41 PM
I have been on here reading so many ppls stories and the pain they have gone through.
Personally I feel it was a massive mistake for Vodafone to agree to this merger of 3 and Voda. clearly they didnt and still dont have this capacity in place nor there is no structure for there company which has resulted in very upset and angry customers.
I speak as I am a previous employee of VF before the merger and let me tell you, after the merger went through not only customers were being affected as there was no transperency to there existing customers but staff had suffered through this all.
All staff went through a re apply stage and well most ppl were made redundant and when they had to go back in for there feedback sessions alot of ppl were given no reasons as to why they didnt make the cut.
Excuses were made such as "Unfortunatley you have too much happening in your personal life" or that we wish you best of luck!! Really? F#$K OFF!!
I for one am very glad this site has come up as not only on the inside and back end was crap but once and for all all customers and the Australian people can see how this merger clearly should not have happened.
I have many friends on the network along with myself and the amount of drop outs or call failed I get in my house is ridiculous.
Vodafone take back your stores and get rid of 3 you let them enter a merger with a $350 Million debt over there heads.... What were you thinking???
It saddens me to say this but after being a customer for over 12 years with Vodafone I am going to Telstra as this coverage and BS that has been going on for close to 2yrs is absolutely that BullShit!!!

I live in one of NSW suburbs and often I receive voice mail on my mail box while my phone is on and available when I listen to the message I find out that the phone never rang and that is why the call goes to voice mail, I have changed my hand set a few time and got a latest one but still having same problem, according to the Vodafone 3G reception is quiet week in this part of NSW and that is the reason some of my calls directly go to voice mail without even ringing.
My reception bars always low and some tomes there is no signal at all.

6775 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Double ZeroFail at 28 Dec 2010 04:38:04 PM
I live on Phillip Island 5kms from the centre of town and 5 kms from the world renowned Grand Prix track. Can only get reception inside if the wind is blowing in the right direction. Turn on 3G ... nothing. The veranda is the best place but never full bars - rug up for those cold winter nights.
Previously lived in Morwell in the Latrobe Valley. Depending on what end of the house I was in I got two different cell transponders - nice, no problems.
Only reason staying with them is the reasonable deal for pre-paid.
All in all, if there was real competition I would change but after three years I guess I'm used to standing outside to use a basic technology.

I live in the small town of Casino on the Northern Rivers of NSW. Inside my home i recieve no vodafone mobile service/coverage except on the widowsill of the front door of which i only recieve 2 bars of coverage. As soon as i walk out of this room or away from the widowsill my service drops out. This is very frustrating as i recieve alot of calls for work for the job that i do. In the recent past i have missed out on critical work and income due to this lack of coverage. I hope the issue is resolved asap otherwise i will be switching to another service provdier when my contract is up.
6769 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is beyond help at 28 Dec 2010 04:34:37 PM
I had issues in that I had no data/phone reception in the CBD - NEXT door to a telephone exchange with every freaking tower for every network on it, and nothing at all at my house unless I stood on my letterbox and waved my phone in the air. (I'm not joking). For 3 months of emailing and calling, I'd get email responses to my questions i"d been ASKED to email saying "you spoke to a customer service person about this. Status: Closed". They'd told me to email! I was advised to change my SIM 4 times. I did it 3 times to humour them, the 4th i saw red. I had sat on the phone twice for 1 hour each time that morning and got a robotic Indian person who told me to swap the SIM over and when I lost the plot and asked to speak to a supervisor, was transferred to the automatic SIM replacement line. So I had to start again.
I had had enough by this stage - 86 phone calls and emails is too many. I wrote to the TIO. Within 5 days a VF guy rang me back. I was polite to him and he released me from my contract with no penalty and credited me a whopping $8. (Yes, $8!)
I am now with Telstra and am loving every minute of it. I feel like washing my mouth out with soap saying that, but I can now SMS, make phonecalls AND surf the web absolutely anywhere, whereas my workmates sit in our office with no VF signal for often 2 hours at a time. I can't help smiling really.

6767 Someone from WA thinks vodafone is F&@?! at 28 Dec 2010 04:28:37 PM
This is the poorest level of service and worst value for my money... Ever. I am paying for a smart phone which is rendered completely useless by the lack of reception and paying for heaps of calls and data which I can't even use. Only a couple of months into a nightmare of a 24 month contract......get me outta here! I was hoping that I would never have to go back to Telstra, but vodash&t clearly aren't capable of providing a goddam thing. Why don't they spend less money on sponsoring every televised sporting event and more money on fixing their service issues???
6765 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is bloody useless at 28 Dec 2010 04:28:31 PM
The sales lady constantly called my wife asking her to change provider. My wife relented and asked how Vodaphone can help us, well she stated that they are a lot cheaper than our current provider ( Telstra ) she showed us how much we could save and yes the quote was far far cheaper than what were paying. My wife asked about the coverage as word was that the coverage was poor. The sales rep stated that Vodaphone have installed several new towers and the reception had improved vastly. So we changed to Vodaphone, what a joke, constant drop outs, poor reception and bad service. My wife tried to call her since and to this date is yet to get in touch with her nor has the sales rep returned any calls, where is the so called service?? Both of our business's have suffered due to this and we are both extremely pissed off.
6760 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is terribly frustrating at 28 Dec 2010 04:19:56 PM
iphone 4 dropps out constantly, have had handset checked, call centres are always 30 to 40 minute waits and hard to understand people on the other end of the phone, contantly transfferred to other departments upon getting through finally, thus another 10-20 minute wait, and now the latest. -Internet. My god, this is rubbish, unusable where we live. We are in SOUTH EAST QLD - Upper Coomera told we were covered - we can't connect 2g or 3g most days and when we can it is abismally slow - sloooower than dial up modem - wireless net i am talking. Being hutchinson - I realise im probably locked in for another 23 mths at $30. Stear clear the softwares crap that runs these devices, supports abismal, and they lie about (network links/upgrades,etc) We have made several attempts now to have this corrected and have failed to date. Yes. I have given up. What would it cost me to take to court! This is white collar crime. They suck. Not happy. Nathan nathanburke77@msn.com

The reception is really bad. I cant even make phone calls in my own house. This is first time in the 10 years of living there that I get such little reception. It is also the last time I will use vodafone ever unless this problem is resolved.
6758 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Very Poor at 28 Dec 2010 04:19:02 PM
Just completed a 2 yr OVERPRICED contract with vodafone. we have 2 phones and 90% of calls drop out within 10 secs of answering. We live in Brisbane metro area and to have virtually every call drop out is absolute rubbish. Complained at the Vodafone shop in Hyperdome 15 months ago and told upcoming work in the next week or so should solve the problem. No such Luck. Probably no workhas or was ever carried out. We have both changed to another provider as we found their reception far superior. Vodafone keep sending bills but are an absolute rip off and fraud.

3 wireless broadband customer-the network was always shaky never downloads at the speeds the signal strength says it should. Tried downloading a 2gig map for Tom Tom today at 3 bar high speed indication was 7 hours. The network dropped out after 3 hours. Start again. will just pay the additional charges not worth dealing with customer service. a complete waste of time

I am locked in to a 2 yr contract (1 yr to go) with Vodafone for both my USB stick modem and iphone. I get one bar reception, very slow data feed, on the modem, and find data feed on iphone slow. I can't even watch a youtube with my VFone internet modem, and internet connection often drops out. There's no excuse, I live in north canberra (belconnen) which is close to the centre of Canberra. I would like to hand the USB modem back, but they tell me I'm locked in.

I constantly have to put up with my texts not being sent. I will go three days or so in a row with none of my texts being sent through but still being charged for the texts. When I called vodafone I got absolutely no help, they didn't understand what "being charged for text messages that are not being recieved" meant. I also lose coverage constantly in random places that have plenty of coverage for every other service provider I know.
Way to fail Vodafone.

Was with vodafone, because it was cheap. Then realised cheap meant network problems, slow speeds, dleayed texts, crappy customer service. Switched to telstra. Pay a hell of a lot more on my phone bill but my god it is a million time better. I've had a few issues with telstra too, but one phone call and it's all sorted out. In fact telstra is incompetent enough that you can scam them out of bills and everything !!! But damn their reception and net speeds are superb!!
Guess mummy was right. You do indeed get what you pay for.

Prior to purchasing a vodaphone wireless internet account, they asked for my postcode which I gave them and said that my coverage is very very good.
However when I connect to vodaphones network, I get ONE bar of reception and the download speed is appalling!!
Trying to contact vodaphone helpdesk support is a waste of time. I bought $100 which is 6GB and in one week my access had expired and I finally got a hold
of them on the phone and I sought an explanation as to why my 6GB was gone in
one week - and Vodaphone said to me in a Indian accent 'it must of been something running in the background'..to which I replied 'like What?'.
Realising now that Vodaphone deliberately misrepresented themselves to me upon a quick sale of their product, I am going back to Telstra, at least there connectivity is stable and I get FOUR bars of reception.
I want my money back Vodaphone!

My problems started with 3 mobiles not offering a great amount of coverage at my address. 3 mobiles had agreed to let me port my number to another services provider with out charge. They suggested that a Vodafone sales person would call me to check my coverage and if it was good, Vodafone would sign me over. I was happy to do so because I was advised that the mobile 3g coverage in my area was good. Less then a month after signing up, I missed days worth of calls and txt msg, calls would suddenly drop, and constantly not being able to make calls even when my phone shows full coverage. I called Vodafone and after following the automated promts to technical support, I was advised I was in the wrong department and needed to transfer me to the correct one. After waiting a further 20 minutes, they advised that an investigation was being raised and this was going to take around 3 weeks to get some sort of answer. I told them this was not good enough and that I use my phone also for work, and the customer service rep said "it sounds important so I'll have some one call you the next day". Well, I never got that call. I called Vodafone back 5 days later and demanded that I be released from my contract as they have failed to deliver the mobile service I sign up for. I was advised some one will call me back tomorrow. I wont hold my breath...

consistently overcharged since taking up an iphone 4 offer, resulting in several calls to "customer not care" since august to fix the charges, which include calls not being deducted from the cap, being charged for "free" data plan. Each month I am promised it will be fixed, only to a new problem on the next bill.
This is on top of very poor data reception, particularly in metro area - I've resorted to finding the nearest maccas to use their free wifi

I thought it was just me... wow... In Hobart we get the same issues, call dropouts, network disappearing when I try to make a call and consistently late sms & voicemail. I transferred to Vodafone over 2 years ago because the staff provided excellent service, and transferred my two daughter's phones soon after. But i worry sometimes if they try to call and have no reception. I thought it was just a Hobart (or Tasmanian) issue with reception. I am astounded it is in the other capital cities as well!

I have been complaining for 3 months, only to be told it's my handset, reset the settings, do this do that. They do not even acknowledge there is an issue with the network. I have complained to the TIO and even now they say they are invetigating the problem and will let me know what the outcome is. If only they watched the bloody news then they would know what the problem is. STOP fobbing us off Vodafone and stop lying to your customers, accept you have a major problem, refund every person their rental costs for the last 3 months, and the next 3 as this is not going to get fixed over night and accept responsibility.

When I signed into my 2 year contact I was told that because Vodafone and 3 shared phone lines I would have reception almost everywhere. My reception is totally incosistent, at uni I get it in some rooms but not others. Sometimes I have full reception at home and some times I have none. When people ring they tell me that it goes straight to message bank even if the phone is on and I have full reception. I cannot wait until this contract is up, signing up with vodafone was a big mistake! Another thing that I have found is that the Vodafone website for some reason seems to function slower than any other website.

both Voda and 3 are full of crap. Until 3 months ago I had really good mobile broadband. Now most days I wait half an hour to download a few emails, some days my download speed is 2kbs and a waste of time trying to upload. Customer service advice is my area is heavy usage area and 3 has no intention to upgrade the network, all upgrades will only be to the Voda network. Do I wish to change to Voda? My answer to them is they have 7 days to fix the service and supply me what I pay for or I go to ACCC and Telecomunications Ombudsman and Consumer Affairs. How about a class action here in South Australia against both 3 and Voda as they are the same company now according to the bills I get.
28 Dec 2010 03:56:47 PM: 3 Mega coverage used to roam to tel$tra Next G when coverage was poor or out of metro, then 3 changed software to favour voda before telstra. Since then there are pockets where the phone is so screwed up it trys for poor voda rather then good tel$tra. If you having probs tell them to cancel the contract or you will got to the TIO ( thanks tio, helped me control the phone companies)

First it took me 5 weeks to even get my phone, with them constantly telling me it would take NO more then 2 weeks, then they charged me fee's they shouldn't of, Also found out my plan is NOT $450 of credit a month, but $409, when I complained they told me it says that in the terms and conditions. I read the terms and conditions 3 times, it does NOT say that at all. My calls drop out all the time, and sometimes it never calls out at all, I have the worst reception ever, my internet never ever loads, or takes about an hour for anything to actually show up! I get voice mails TWO WEEKS after they have been left... ummm... yeah GREAT work vodafone. Not.

HOW TO ESCAPE YOUR VODAFONE CONTRACT!
After all the BS with reception and all of the above I complained 3 times to voda. On the 3rd attempt i told them i was switching to Telstra and i was NOT going to pay out the rest of my contract, which would have been 1 year and $1,111.00. It took some firm talking and i got off without paying a single cent more!
It was very simple all you have to do is speak to the supervisor and DO NOT TAKE NO FOR AN ANSWER!

28 Dec 2010 04:00:17 PM: This is a good point. An agreed contract is after all when both parties are carryout what has been stated in the contract. ie, you pay your bills, they provide the service that they state. So if they are NOT fulfilling their side of the contract, remind them in no uncertain terms, stick to your guns. Don't be rude, be firm and you may be pleasantly surprised.

- Constantly dropping from full reception to none whilst on the phone.
- Delays in receiving texts can be minimal, but often delayed by hours, leading to multiple texts being received at the one time.
- 3G reception is very inconsistent.
- There is consistently an increase in monthly insurance costs, yet it's near impossible to make a succesful claim.
- More and more dead spots in my house appearing, especially of late.
- It can take multiple attempts to dial a number before actually connecting with the network.

I live in newcastle and am still under contract with vodafone, my messages come through two days after I send them and you can forget about mms, coverage has been patchy at best up here for two months now, I have approached vodafone who replaced my sim card(which did nothing at all!!) All I got told is there have been no issues reported, but looking at this website tells me otherwise.

I have 2 vodafone contracts (1 for business) and 4 prepaid/plan phones (for my children) in my house. I am continually having to deal with drop outs as i am trying to talk to clients, and it was near impossible to speak to any of my family members over christmas as Port Macquarie and Dubbo do not have
Vodafone coverage???? they are fairly major centres, and as i did not have access to a land line, christmas cheer was pretty dull. Our monthly spend with vodafone averages approx $250, and yet 1 in 3 calls will drop out and either no service or service unavailbale comes up. No use contacting Vodafone themselves as they don't seem to want to do anything......

Well where to begin... I had perfect reception in my area until around 5 months ago when i had No Service. I can't receieve calls at home or messages nothing. There has been times when i have urrgently needed reception but MAJOR FAIL. I went to every vodafone outlet in Canberra and they told me they were 'building new towers' i then rang up and was put on hold for 2 hours to be told that the problem would not be resolved till June because of the 'new towers' I have now been forced to switch to Optus which is a pity because my whole family and friends are on vodafone but don't you wory they are also switching to a reliable service provider. Vodafone and after a period of time on hold, numerous rude persons and being transferred through a number of departments was told that there was a coverage problem however because i had moved into this area after siging the contract it was my fault. Vodafone seemed utterly disinterested in the fact that my new home was less then 5kms from my old address and that i had been assured that Vodafone had excellent coverage by sales staff.
..
I was further told that i would have to pay nearly $1000 to exit my contract.
..
Vodafone has offered no other dispute resolution to this matter. As an emergency services worker who is often called out i rely on good coverage to make and recieve phone calls. Further to this, I find it appalling at the level of customer service and lack of coverage in a Sydney Metro.

I live in Sydney's CBD and for the past 3 or 4 weeks have been unable to initiate calls on the first attempt to almost every number I call. Some of my friends who are also on Vodafone are unreachable and I constantly get the recorded message saying they number is unavailable (despite the fact their phones are on and have full coverage).
This situation is getting completely ridiculous and I'm going to be complaining to the TIO (I've already left several requests with Vodafone's contact centre to call me back but have heard nothing!).

No Reception inside my house, and only few bars outside the house. Sometimes i do get reception if I stand at a window. After changing to another provider, after my current contract had ran out, they rang me 3 months after to tell me my contract had ran out and gave me offers. I then told them i had already gone to another provider. Its funny that they did not even know!!!
Damaged phone was dropped in water by accident (someone had knocked me while i was texting), and insurance could not be claimed as it were lack of duty of care. It used to be good when they first brought out the cap plans but now its just a pathetic.

- Text messages are often delayed - anything from 30 mins up to 6 hours late.
- Calls drop out around a third of the time.
- I'm really annoyed and disappointed by Vodafone's ongoing issues with 3G/HSPA connectivity. I rely on Internet access through my phone, and for it to be unable to download on HSPA consistently (well over half of the time) is a royal pain. I often have to switch my phone to airplane mode, then back to standard mode, before HSPA comes on and decides to download stuff (and sometimes forcing the connection back on doesn't work either!). The speed I get is inferior to my previous service on Optus.
Not happy Vodafone!
(area wise I go between the Dandenongs, Moorabbin, the city, Monash - and the coverage varies from really really poor (1 bar / none) to reasonable (3 or 4 bars out of 5)

6688 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is MEGA fail at 28 Dec 2010 03:19:47 PM
My partner and I have been Vodafone customers for 6-7 years now, after starting out on prepaid we were spending to much money so we decided to go on a cap. Vodafone had always worked so well for us and the caps were always so much more affordable and since we both travelled so much for work this was always our best option and we were always happy. But since renewing our plan and increasing our cap from $49 to the $79 cap in Dec 2009 we have been nothing but dissappointed. Firstly, I entered into a new plan a week before going overseas for a holiday. On my return 2 weeks later I had a bill for over $2000, I knew I had not used my phone that much whilst overseas, especially not enough to accrue a bill of that amount, after finally reaching them, they explained that I had 'apparently' cancelled a contract on 07 Dec, funny that, when it was impossible as I had only just signed 2 new contracts and on the date I was meant to have cancelled a contract in Australia, I was in Rome!!!! They eventually (after several phone calls to vodafone and the retailer where this apparently happened) they removed the fee. This however was just the beginning of a very disappointing run with Vodafone. Our caps vary so much, we are constantly shocked at the cost of our bills, knowing we do not vary our calls that much from month to month yet they are always over cap and sometimes by over $200. When I was with Telstra, if they could see your cap going over alot or not workng out, they used to contact you and talk through some ideas to better suit your calling patterns (this has never happened with Vodafone, they just want our money, there is no customer sevice) We have recently moved to a large inland NSW town, where you would expect to get full coverage, we get nothing and still have 12 months left on our plan. For our jobs, we both get moved regularly, we have been from Brisbane, to Sydney to Newcastle and until the past few months, have had no problems with reception. Now, even back in Sydney for christmas (a capital city), we get nothing, in a CAPITAL city, how can you get no coverage?? I was sent picture messages on Christmas day of my family as I was unable to be with them, some I received 3 and 4 days later, most I still have not received 5 days later. We can have full netowrk coverage and 3G activated, attempt to log onto the internet and wait for up to 10mins before it even looks like connecting, you would think if you have reception you could utilise the service. This is unacceptable, we pay for a service that we can not even use...... RUBBISH!! I have not been reveiving bills either via the mail or e-mail, I am just receiving text saying my bill is overdue, this is not acceptable. I have attempted to call several times to discuss my issues however after it cutting out and then being on hold for 30mins plus, and then for them to say they will redirect me and be taken back to the voice activated main menu AGAIN and AGAIN and get no where I have given up. I WANT OUT!!
28 Dec 2010 03:26:02 PM: I understand this exactly!!! If you have a problem you cannot get a hold of anyone or get an answer!!

No reception in several lecture theatres at my university (the university of queensland), shopping centres, and at my surf club in Kirra. Reception cuts out at my house, and limited connectivity on my vodafone mobile internet. During November, I could not receive incoming calls, or use my internet anywhere at all for 7 days. When I asked a Voda customer service representative why I had reception problems, they told me it was because they couldn't guarantee I'd get service "indoors, anywhere over than my house". I'm incredibly unhappy with Vodafone, and will not use them again.

We (when I say we, I mean 3 of us who are all with vodafone under the same roof) live at the top of Western Australia in Kununurra. Vodafone almost always gives us great full bar reception. For the past 2 weeks we have been lucky to even get one bar, delayed voicemails, txt msgs etc. Not only did they charge me $1200 for a phone bill but they made me pay it twice as it did not show up on their records as paid. Then when contacting customer care (who was somewhere in India might I add) he said he could not reimburse me my second payment of $1200 it would go into credit instead... so $2400 wasted on them just in time for Christmas!

Got offered to change from 3 to vodafone wireless broad band and get a free modem and 1st month free. I live 3 mins away from the CBD and got only 1 bar reception from vodafone! Virtually useless. Then got a bill before the month ends and was told by the recorded message when I call vodafone that they are charging the next bill in advance. They didn't tell me that when I switched!! They actually said if I decide to discontinue before the month ends, I will be charged nothing. They have recorded the conversation, I wish I had..... Now I'm paying $30 for a service I couldnt use. Even worse, spent 2 hrs on the phone to wait to speak to someone to cancel my service!

I have been with Voda on & off for years but this contract round they seem to have really dropped their game. Since getting an iPhone 18 months ago my reception just drops out all the time, my 3G connection drops out so I cant access data, voicemail take ages to arrive and sometimes my phone doesnt even ring and I just get a voicemail message, MMS takes ages, etc etc. I recently went to Japan where I used international roaming but was careful not to use my phone much and my bill was still $650!!!!!! However my reception and data speed everywhere in Japan was second to none due to my phone piggy backing with their providers. When I got back I finally decided to get serious and they told me that it could be the phone or sim but they had no defence when I told them about Japan. I asked them to test my area network which came back as 'poor' and they said I could get out of the last 6 months of my contract at no cost, keep my handset and take 2 months with my bills waived to decide. I still left because they just cant provide a decent service and thats what it comes down to.

6675 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is broadband? more like NARROWBAND! at 28 Dec 2010 03:03:04 PM
I ONLY suffer from Vodafone Mobile Broadband failure. Interestingly, I have been comparing new deals and was very close to switching to Vodafone for my mobile phone, glad I didn't. I live in the heart of the Gold Coast and have been with Vodafone Mobile Broadband for nearly 3 years. At first I was pleased with my decision, but then I also had broadband in the home (with another provider) so any drop-outs or poor coverage mostly went unnoticed or didn't occur. Now is a different story. I rely 100% on mobile broadband with Vodafone and I constantly have major difficulty with coverage, speed and software malfunctions. I run a small design business from my home and in these difficult economic times I have had to find economical solutions to my IT structure, so I have elected only mobile broadband as it serves when I am in the office and when I am away from the office. When will be at the stage when we can have home internet, mobile phone internet and mobile internet for your computer neatly tied up in one compact bundle of bills and hardware. If this does exist, PLEASE someone tell me!

I have been with Vodafail for 18 months. Initially with a Broadband Service with Dell Mini 9 Netbook. After 6 months my connection in Brisbane CBD became choppy and failed after 30-60 secs. Vodafail claimed it wasn't their network, they contact DELL who swapped the entire motherboard. No change to my connection problem. I was swapped to a DELL Mini 10. Again after about 4 months I was having the same problems in Brisbane CBD. They alledgedly sent out network engineers to check my location, who said I do have a coverage problem [in Brisbane CBD !!!] I was offered a a free 4Gb broadband USB stick, as the connection is better than the in-built one in the DELL Mini. I am still paying for my 6Gb in-built data card BUT also paying for a 3Gb Service.
I have complained to vodafail in-store but am still waiting for a reply 1 week later. They discussed options such as the pocket wifi (which has a stronger signal) but I have heard that before !!!
I have also been experiencing phone problems, where the network service is lost in heavily populated areas. And text/voicemail messages coming through days later.

I started up my contract with vodafone a few months ago after being with them pre-paid for quite some time. At that stage I was living on the Sunshine Coast where the reception was ok... I wouldn't say excellent but I didn't have too many issues. Having now moved to Hervey Bay about a month ago I am not getting reception either in my workplace or at my own home! It is absolutely ridiculous as I don't have a landline to rely on although I certainly will be getting one soon. Please step up and do something about this or I will be another customer lost and I will ensure I tell everyone considering vodafone how bad they are!
28 Dec 2010 03:16:40 PM: Ask them to test your network coverage in both those addresses, which they have to if you are on a personal contract, and if they are poor then you are allowed to get out of your contract without any charges or fee's. You then take the time to go into the store and ask about the coverage, and they show you on their pc that I'm in the area for coverage. NOT! AND WHY???? WHY would I want to be on the phone for hours to someone who's not even in this country discussing my coverage issues, when they've not even been here, or know of where I"m talking about???? We have 2 phones with 3 for a few years. While reception was bad at most times, since they have merged with 3... the experience gets worse. Calls drop out, my husbands reception drops out (the message received by callers is he is out of coverage, or the phone is off.) Hopeless for business purposes. My husband goes fishing, and he has no reception, while his mate standing next to him has full coverage. Useless in an emergence!

I'm in bondi, after trying to get a call out a week ago with a connection fail message, I had to borrow a friends telstra phone. through all of this my reception and 3G showed service. On borrowing my friends phone, the girl sitting behind us had heard our discussion and said 'are u with vodaphone' I replied 'yes' and she advised her service was also not working, and had been on and off for weeks. I had been having people complain that my phone was always turned off and they were always talking to my voicemail, and also thinking these comments were strange as my phone was always 'on', but it all started to make sense when I would all of a sudden have 8 voicemail messages in my inbox in one hit, from throughout that day. My phone was reading I had service, when in fact I had no service and calls were going directly into voicemail. So moral of the story is that the vodaphone service in bondi is unreliable, even when your phone reads 'service' you may just not had service at all, so check your voicemail regularly (when u have service to actually call into it!)

I guess this is what you get for outsourcing your IT, Networking and who know what other departments within VHA to crappy outsourcing company's like IBM, HP, Nokia and the list goes on. It to bring it back in house so that VHA know what the hell is the other hand is doing !!!
6649 Someone from WA thinks vodafone is at 28 Dec 2010 02:41:31 PM
I have been with Vodafone for a while now using a prepaid plan; I believed that the issue of my phone not ringing but calls going straight to voicemail was a problem with the phone, so I bought a new one. The problem is still happening. Recently I tried to unlock my new phone from the Vodafone network (in preparation to changing carriers) and this was very difficult! At first I couldn't get passed a certain point on the website so I called customer service, only to have "the voice" tell me to try their website. There wasn't an option for what I needed to do and no way to get through to a real person. As if all of that isn't enough, I now have a crack in the screen on my new phone, and when I rang Vodafone, they told me no point in trying to have it fixed, just buy a new phone!! Can't wait to change carriers...
28 Dec 2010 04:30:41 PM: have you ever thought to go into a store to unlock your phone ? instead of talking to the VOICE. why is it vodafone problem that you have a cracked screen? did vodafone break it ? NO! so its not there problem its yours .so go get it fixed or buy a new one.
6648 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Vodafone sucks at 28 Dec 2010 02:40:22 PM
I struggle to get coverage in Newcastle, and only in certain areas am I able to get service. When I joined Vodafone 12mths ago I was advised coverage was improving all the time and was comparable to Telstra's 3G network which is untrue. The service you get is disgusting in this day and age. Half the time my phone doesn't ring and goes to message bank. I think all customers who are unhappy with Vodafone should be able to break there contracts without penalty.
6645 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is may as well use a cup and string to communicate! at 28 Dec 2010 02:33:44 PM
i live in the middle of geelong in victoria, and struggle to recieve 2 to 3 bars of reception, i have realized that my previous contract with 3 was a million times better than vodafone. but for all those users that are with vodafone have no fear just get a cup and meters of meters of meters of string and go the old fasion way of communication. VODAFONE IS TERRIABLE
6644 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is coverage and email coverage at 28 Dec 2010 02:32:18 PM
I also have been an unfortunate Vodafone user. Having now come to the end of a three business contract where the coverage has been crap and the retrieval of data through my email from my phone has been virtually non existent, despite many complaints I have still had to pay for this bad service with basically no support from there so call business support network. I also would like to join the class action.
6640 Someone from ACT thinks vodafone is veryfail at 28 Dec 2010 02:28:04 PM
coverage is the major issue. The maps are not true to coverage & having travelled round Australia & Tasmania, find that the signal is only good in the Capital cities & major towns. Drop down to area where they indicate 3g & you are lucky to get 1g.
28 Dec 2010 02:34:05 PM: I agree with you!
On a roadtrip from Canberra through nsw including batemans bay through to Melbourne via Wagga then to Hobart, it was mainly the CBD's where all the reception was.
A couple of suburbs away & you are already struggling to find decent reception.

poor reception even from a densely populated Melbourne suburb. When I was in hospital there was no reception at all while telstra and Optus network have no problems. I often got my voice mail one or two days late.
6635 Someone from ACT thinks vodafone is 10/10 at 28 Dec 2010 02:21:46 PM
I recently decided to switch over to Vodafone from Optus. Before I did so I checked on their website that I would have reception throughout not only the whole of Townsville but in particular my house. The Vodafone site informed me I would have close to full reception throughout most of Townsville. In the last 2 months I have found this to be a utter and complete LIE with every 3rd or 4th call dropping out and only getting reception in my back yard. Vodafone is a fucking joke. I will be leaving as soon as my contract is up!

the service coverage is very poor i can have full reception one second and the next have basically nothing or none without moving from where i'm standing also i have had 3 iphones and now i have an iphone 4 but the effort to get my 3rd iphone 3G replace was such a huge effort it took 3 months due to the fact that vodafone had no record of any of my phones on their system let alone the fact that i have had them replace several times finally after spending 5 hours on the phone to vodafone getting cut off trying to deal with that stupid laura thing that is ment to be helpful ... someone finally let me pay out my plain and sign up for a new plan with the iphone4 which i was happy with so now i have an iphone4 that has really poor reception and not the mention how slow the data is on the phone it was so much faster on my old broken 3G when it was working on the odd occacian and now i'm stuck in a contract for 2 years with crap service i really wish i just went with telstra yes it maybe much more expensive but atleast it actually workings and has 3G in the city which vodafone doesn't seem to have much of

I used to be signed up with a plan. They over charged me every month and in one week I had enough so I paid over $600 in one week because the were telling me I was late on my payments. I paid my bill at the post office and it didn't go through to them till two days later which is not my problem.
They then sent my account to a debt collection agency which were very rude and I had to pay them an excess of $2000 just to pay the contract out which gave me a bad credit rating at the time.
Vodafone is unacceptable. My pre-paid account cuts out all the time during phone calls and I never have reception, I actually have to turn my phone off and on just to get reception.
Also when trying to contact Vodafone about my plan and bills I got transferred about 15 times and not to sound racist in anyway they were all of Indian nationality and did not communicate well at all or help me with my problems.
Bottom line is every chance I get I bad mouth Vodafone as a company and suggest to all my family and friends to not sign up with them. They have gone too far and need to be punished!!!!!

Phone rarely actually rings - calls answered repeatedly by voicemail.
When i do receive a call often drops out within seconds of answering. Sometimes several attempts at making calls - NETWORK BUSY

I have been on a contract for 2 wirless data connections for now 15 months. I was assured that coverage in my area was excellent. They work in intermittant areas - intermittantly ... the big problems I have is that there is no coverage at my factory nor at either my pr my business partners houses ... so they have never been used except once when I went on holiday 13 months ago .. Vodaphone wish to charge me break fees because despote me telling them that they dont work - their paper maps say that they do ... apparently its my choice not to use them ... I have already migrated 2 mobile phones and am waiting for the contracts to run out to cancel the wirelss data cards ... DO NOT BELIEVE ANYTHING YOU ARE TOLD BY THIS COMPANY _ THEIR NETWORK IS VERY BAD

Oh God, where to start!?
At first, I thought it was because I was using an older phone, a customer service assistant at Vodafone informed me that this was the case and I should purchase a new hand set as the one I had was 18 months old.
Thank god it was only a $99 phone, otherwise I'd be very upset at forking out money for a phone I did not need!
My issues, with my old handset, and my new one, include:
No reception, resulting in having to switch my phone off, and then back on.
MMS messages not sending.
Text messages not sending.
Sometimes I would be charged for the MMS and text messages being sent.
Phone calls dropping out - which is awesome when doing a phone interview (/sarcasm).
Sometimes being unable to send international text messages when the day before I was able to.
Periods of time where my phone says "No Network Coverage".
Not receiving text messages until hours after they were sent.
Receiving Voicemail messages when my phone hasn't rang, at all.
