Dear visitor,

Since its inception Vodafail.com has made a significant contribution towards raising awareness of the problems and issues faced by Vodafone customers.

Vodafone Australia customers have had the opportunity to voice their concerns, their fears and their troubles from every corner of Australia and beyond our borders. You have gathered the courage to stand up for your rights as consumers and to make your voice heard.

Each and every person who shared their story should have a sense of pride in this achievement and the changes that have occurred since the start of Vodafail.com.

More recently, traffic to Vodafail.com has declined significantly. Having achieved the goal of raising awareness and promoting concrete action in early 2011, we have now reached the point of closing Vodafail to new complaints. The site will remain online for as long as possible as a reminder and an example of what is possible when we share our experiences.

It has been a privilege to run this initiative and I'm am forever grateful for the help and support I've received. In particular I would like to thank Melissa, David and Travis for their continued efforts over the past 15 months. I'm also thankful and humbled by the support of ACCAN, Choice magazine and a wide range of media outlets, blogs and websites.

You can still browse existing stories and find out how to file a complaint if you are experiencing problems.

Until next time,

Adam Brimo

7817 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is unreasonable contract at 28 Dec 2010 09:41:33 PM
Family member has signed up to month to month plan $ 35.00 per month and 500 MB of data, I have found that the excess data is 50 cents per MB the danger is if the phone is misused ( or stolen ) the excess data is charged at $ 500 per MB. Example use 1 GB of data per day , for a month one would have a bill of $ 15,000 for a teenager for 1 month very dangerous indeed, there is no alert system or way to shut of the data so the customer service staff member said i believe the contracts are unfair to have any at that level of risk, This has happened to me once all ready where family member with another carrier thought they were using the home wifi. The fair price excess data would be 2 cents per MB ( still $ 600.00 for 30 GB ), plus enforce the USA system of notifying the customers of over the limit usage and the option of setting to limit for the month. I have traveled and found that 500 MB is about 2 days limit for myself. All the the telco contracts need to be reviewed to see if there is unreasonable risks for the customers Regards David

7804 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is the words customer service contradict each other at 28 Dec 2010 09:32:13 PM
I'm an occasional phone user i.e $30 last about 9 months, mainly used when the car breaks down type of thing. on a number of times i have been unable to phone the racv, due to lack of coverage(live pakenham work port Melbourne)and have had to purchase second phone (telstra) for such occasions here i general lose my money as the car doesn't falter that often, but it's still a necessity in case it does in one of the many black spots.Once another carrier offers an extended usage time ala 365 days, i will with great speed leave vodafone, at home the phone will die for upto 48hrs probably 4 times a year and for what ever reasons I have dialed the 1555 number it has left me that baffled i now just let things go because either I can not get to the department to which i seek or I hang up after 45 min. on a time i did get through i was directed to there cweb site but that did not have a link to my initial inquiry. so now I don't bother.

7797 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is below standard at 28 Dec 2010 09:25:27 PM
Vodafone should be doing a far better job based on the size of their enterprise! Useless receptipn, calls dropping, late texts and above all the most annoyingly frustrating customer service ever. I give up trying to sort out my problems because I don't have enough time in a day to be on the phone to a whole bunch of different people, waiting for ages then having the call drop and have to start all over again. As for the stupid automated answering servce, it made me want to throw my phone at the wall. 1 month into 24month contract, O crap. What other provider has the HTC Desire HD?

7779 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is reception & bad customer service at 28 Dec 2010 09:16:04 PM
My reception is absolute rubbish it cuts out even inside my home if I call it from my home phone I get a response that my phone is switched off when it isnt. My brother also has a dispute of unbelieveably high data usage. They cut off his plan. We dont know what has been dowloaded, we have to wait untill the bill is generated at the end of the month whilst paying the monthly instalment even when the phone is blocked and he is not given his credit entitelment in calls. Customer service hasnt even botheres contacting us back after 6 phone calls trying to sort this out!

7776 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Not Happy at 28 Dec 2010 09:13:40 PM
I had been a Vodafone pre-paid customer up until 4 months ago, when I decided to go on a contract with them for the new iPhone.
Up until recently, I always valued Vodafone as my provider. However in the process of changing over to contract I was confronted with the worst customer service I have ever recieved from any place I have ever been. I was promised delivery in 2 weeks, and after 4 weeks it still hadnt arrived. Each time I called (after 1 hour in a queue) I got the response that 'I would recieve mine in the next batch that was to come in stock.. I ended up asking to speak to a manger which in turn got my phone delievered within 2 days and also had a credit applied to my account for the delay.
Since being on contract, I have had poor reception in places where I used to have full reception, my voicemail messages are always delayed, and the internet connection is extremely slow.

Vodafone have excellent deals and all my friends and family are with them, so we take advantage of the free Vodafone to Vodafone talk. however if it was not for that, I would definitely have changed providers.

I expect to recieve what I pay for!

7775 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is EXTREME FAIL at 28 Dec 2010 09:12:39 PM
I've been getting constant call drop outs and sometimes can't even get through at all. There's been some text messages that never even got to the recipient, and I thought they were just being rude and not responding! So I went to my local vodafone shop to ask the guys there (because it's almost impossible to get through to the customer service hotline). At first they blamed my iphone 4 saying these things are notorious for reception issues so I'd just have to put up with it! But I showed them the case I had on it so it shouldn't be having reception issues due to the phone so they changed their story and told me that vodafone was upgrading the local tower. Then I posted on facebook to see if others on the same network had the same issues and found loads of others thought the vodafone network service was crap too! And to think I bought the vodafone shop guy's BS story about them upgrading their towers!

7765 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is VODAGATE at 28 Dec 2010 09:05:00 PM
I regularly make a Skype video call from my 30Mbps Cable connection which is very reliable and always incredibly fast to someone who has a Vodafone Wireless USB Modem. Over past 6 months the quality of the video has deteriorated and often the audio is terrible.

(To the nerds - I've mapped a port through my router so I don't ever connect through to a super node.)

It's so frustrating when the other persons connection is so terrible. They have tried speaking to customer service but get no where. I thought the ACCC required Internet connections to be a certain speed to be classified as broadband. HOW CAN VODAFAIL CALL THEIR INTERNET BROADBAND - ITS SHIT BAND!

7753 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Catastrophic at 28 Dec 2010 08:57:32 PM
I was with Vodafone for 2 years on a contract, it was my first mobile phone. The last year of that contract I could not make any phone calls or recieve any calls due to lack of reception, coverage etc. I could only text for a year and even they would sometimes be recieved by friends hours later. Put simply, I would get better reception putting my sim card into a rock. After calling vodafone and being able to experience their wonderful customer service whereby I am constantly put on hold for hours at a time, I decided to give up and wait for my contract to end. Once it expired I actually had to still call them and get it cancelled. This was the funniest part because the informed vodafone employee I had "didn't have the authority" to cancel my contract which was already expired, I think he didn't have the ability to complete his job. Anyway he puts me on hold for an hour or so as usual and I hang up and get my brother to ring and ask for the latest phone from vodafone and no surprises here no put on hold he vets straight through to the salesman. I got a new phone with telstra and vodafone continues to send me bills even though it's expired and I am no longer using the phone. Good job vodafail.

7750 Someone from TAS thinks vodafone is EPIC FAIL!!! at 28 Dec 2010 08:54:44 PM
I had a Nokia E63 with Vodafone Pre Paid, and I was told that I would have coverage on par with Telstra in Tasmania. Needless to say that Vodafone's 3G Coverage is like 2 bars out of 5 in Hobart, and 3 bars out of 5 for Standard 2G GSM. I left Vodafone and went to Telstra, and I can tell you now that the coverage is 200% better than Vodafone. Vodafone's Customer Service Lines are now outsourced overseas, and if you try and call you are ether on hold for ages (shortest I experienced was to have Voicemail removed was 40 minutes - TIMED. Countless times I have called and the call was terminated. I know it was terminated because I was using handsfree and I had ample coverage (believe it or not), I heard the greeting and then the call was terminated... before the issue was explained let alone resolved.

MAKE THE MOST OF NOW??? NOT WITH VODAFONE. Obviously Ricky Ponting is Captaining the Team that deals with Coverage and Customer Service.

The problems started when they started when they started when they started outsourcing their customer service lines to Mumbai, India, Egypt. When it was in Hobart - Service, Price and Coverage were brilliant. Never had a problem. Start sending Customer Service to Overseas and that starts to fail and then the prices go up. Merge with 3 who doesn't want to cover Tassie... then your service coverage begins to fail.... I am starting to see a Pattern here Vodafone!

7744 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is exceptional service at 28 Dec 2010 08:50:52 PM
Join Vodafone from 3 and life is much different and exciting.

Connect to Herald Sun on my mobile and have a relax morning coffee, come back 5 mins later and the site it's ready.

Calls dropped even before I want to finish the conversations, more free time.

Went out with some blokes, and than got message at 3am from one of the guy. Thought I am sexy and the guy is gay, so exciting (after reading the mess I found out that he sent it around 8pm not 3am)

Cant call customer service as my phone will be hot and out of battery before the excellent service I may get.

Went to a Vodafone shop, complain that I have very slow 3G speed, the guy look and say you are on Emergency (E) not 3G. That explains everything and clear my head.

Offer to come back to 3 but they said it's very difficult and costly.

For all the "exceeding" expected services and help making my life different. I also try to help Vodafone to improve their service by registering to join the class action.

7741 Someone from SA thinks vodafone is extremely at 28 Dec 2010 08:47:57 PM
I switched to Vodafone from telstra network about 2 yrs ago, with an understanding from vodafone customer service person that there will be no difference in overall reception in the network and call quality will be the same.
however, soon after I started using it, I was very frustrated with the poor network reception, call drop outs. As I am a medical practitioner on frequent emergency duties, it really made me very anxious over last two years and most of the time I have to make several calls myself to Emergency department in the middle of night to make sure they are not making unsuccessful attempt to reach me (because of highly unreliable Vodafone network). I had no such trouble with my previous service provider.

I am absolutey fed up with vodafone. I am stuck with the contract unless I pay them out. They are in breech of their contract by not providing the service that we pay for. Why should I pay for it if I dont get the service. My complaints are: no.1 bad reception alot of the time No.2 call drop outs (alot of the time) No.3 No notification of calls coming through has been going straight to the voice msg bank Not even a ring! the following day the notification comes through this was 12 hours later !! & yes my phone was fully charged. ( I had no idea people rang me!!! I had missed calls whereby no notification came through for these even as missed calls. I work for an agency oncall to my horror one of the calls was for work which I did not recieve therefore missed out on work for the day !! And this is the service that I pay for ??? No. 4 when you ring customer service to get help these human robots continuously trouble shoot until you get so frustated...(a complete waste of time (the problems still exists today) then you realise "Hello!! this is as bad as it gets" for a phone company - Welcome to Vodafone or was i hearing right - VODAFAIL.

i have been a customer of Vodafone for now 20 months. much like every one else i have made many complaints to vodafone with no real outcome. service dropping out, having to go to particular spots in the house to recieve and make calls/sms. i have sent back the vodafone storm as they tried saying it was that but still no change with a new bold. I believe that if it were not for me working away each week where i know only telstra works then i would of opted out a long time ago. i can assure you that i will not be resigning with Vodafone in 4 months when my contract is up for renewal. i feel the pain like many others and i hope that this site can make some difference to the so called customer service and honesty of Vodafone.

After their last change in billing system, my account was being sent with incorrect details. It took me 18 months to try and resolve this issue. They kept saying that the next bill would be correct, but no it wasn't. They have the poorest customer service that I have ever seen in a Telco company. I also have problems with me phone dropping out, was only 200 metres away from the tower and my phone took a total of 15mins to download a 256kb program...

28 Dec 2010 07:36:09 PM: How long can one be nice
28 Dec 2010 07:38:30 PM: Especially when no one is listening only charging $$
28 Dec 2010 07:41:25 PM: We understand everyone's frustrations but we should all try to remember that the individual employee in retail stores can only do so much, through no fault of their own. To the original poster, we have the same concerns as well, which is why we have put up the forum rules and we are just swamped with moderating this site at the moment. People commenting on twitter however are beyond our control. We appreciate your understanding as well. - Vodafail Team
28 Dec 2010 07:42:50 PM: They might be putting a lot of money in to fix it but how much is it costing the brand, the customers and how long will it take? Clearly Vodafone failed to anticipate the demands 3g would place on the network and it is now well behind. Not exactly the best time to be advertising ever more generous download limits and pricing. Fix the problems first before you encourage more customers who will simply become disgruntled and angry.
28 Dec 2010 07:45:57 PM: Vodafone should shut it's stores until it can provide service
28 Dec 2010 07:48:15 PM: You really think thats a solution ahahah
How would shutting the stores help dude??
28 Dec 2010 07:51:44 PM: So you know there is a problem! That is why this blog exists, because Voda and its some of its staff are knowingly selling a product that has issues (your words). If I did that in my industry, people would die! Potential trade practise issue?? Hmmm. Pumping a lot of money in to fix a problem? What problem is that pray tell.
28 Dec 2010 07:56:29 PM: this post is 100 percent correct
28 Dec 2010 08:09:22 PM: in reply to post 09:51:44 PM:
Yeah there is a drop out problem... its there with all companies... and yeah i agree thats why the blog exists but my point is be respectful about what you say unlike the comment i copied in the original post.
And no its not the case of knowingly selling a product with issues,,, many customers do face this problem but on the other hand many dont... the network does get overloaded at certain times... but its a problem that it is being worked on...
28 Dec 2010 08:12:20 PM: People may have died already, using vodafone to call emergency services
28 Dec 2010 08:27:57 PM: Obviously there is a problem & obviously Vodaphone is now going into damage control. Vodaphone are probably even spending some money on it - NOW. I wonder though, is Vodaphone spending anywhere near the amount of money that it has recieved from customers on monthly plans (that have had to continue paying their bills)for a service that either doesn't work, or is so unreliable that it is just a complete rip off.
28 Dec 2010 08:28:28 PM: In reply to the original post - first vodafone decided that t can screw up its clients, next thing they ask to have mercy and be patient and respectful. The attitude that vodafone is having from the clients is the reflection of their frustration and anger - instead of begging to be civilized - you'd better keep your mouth shut, roll the sleeves up and show that you can make things better. Do not bring up the rubbish about your resellers - they sell your service the way you portray it and the way you want it to be portrayed - it is essentially vodafone who put the resellers in this situation - if vodafone cares - they should pull the finger out of their backdoor and treat the clients and partners with respect and fix the hangups...
28 Dec 2010 08:30:33 PM: Obviously there is a problem & obviously Vodaphone is now going into damage control.
28 Dec 2010 09:04:42 PM: vodafone just spend too much of their time and money on promoting themselves. they need to start looking after the customers they have before they lose everyone.
28 Dec 2010 09:14:45 PM: Besides, people are generally reflecting those comments at the Company.. Not the individuals. It's not until those individuals show the same level of disconcern and rudeness that it will be returned by your customer - after all a customer selects one service provider over another for a reason. They're not gonna start hating on the company unless the company pisses them off.

Had been with vodafone for 7 odd years on a no plan cap, $79, and never went over. Calls started dropping out etc & when I got a bill for $242 about 6 months back, I complained. Said I needed a new plan as it would be cheaper, & a new phone for better coverage. Crap. Have sent new phone back, Nokia X6, & now using 4yr old Nokia. Reception better, but still drops out heaps & it's my work phone... Unless I can get out sooner, won't go with this Co. again after my contract is up. And yes, forget their "customer service" number. 7583 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is completely failed at 28 Dec 2010 07:19:04 PM
Today I am unable to receive or make phone calls AT ALL from the Waterloo 2017 area. Texts take several attempts before they are successfully sent. I have experienced all of the problems everybody else has been experiencing over the last several months, and I have continually given VF the benefit of the doubt, expecting them to fix the issues, as they continually promise, because I have been such a long term customer. Today I had to get in the car and drive to another suburb to call their customer service line. Unfortunately my battery expired before they answered.

I would suggest they withdrawer advertising to attract new customers to an obviously failing network, and spend those dollars on fixing the problems once and for all.

FAR TOO LATE FOR ME THOUGH. GOODBYE VODAFONE

I am over speaking to Lara the voice activated chick who doesn't listen and puts you through to the wrong area, then keeps you on hold for over 40 minutes. 7510 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is EXTREMELY at 28 Dec 2010 06:48:52 PM
So, living in Parramatta (only 3o mins from the Sydney CBD) i would have thought that reception and service would go hand in hand and that both would be exceptional, being that i live in the biggest city in Australia, oh how wrong ive been! Since commencing with Vodafone (after Optus screwed me over) i was assured that Vodafone was the company that could provide me with a great plan with generous limit ($139 unlimited cap) and outstanding service and reception. How wrong i have been! I signed a 24month contract (standard for the Telco industry) and have rued the day i contacted Vodafone. Since day 1, April 2010, i have never been able to use voicemail, even though i have been assured that it has been activated on my phone, which was great when i was in a dead end job and looking for another one! No voicemail, meant i had to continually call back numbers i didnt know! On top of this, my actual reception has been nothing short of sub standard. When i have 3G, i still may only have 2 or 3 bars of reception! I have contacted Vodafone on numerous occassions and have been assured that there was a "know issue in Sydney and it will be fixed shortly". So this must be a massive issue if its still persisting! As an avid iPhone user i have a large number of apps, which i use most daily, and yet being that reception is low or non-existent they take forever to load. Again i have contacted Vodafone and was told "theres no issues in your area, it must be you. There is no problem with out network". Well thanks for that India, but im sure that constantly resetting my phone and wanting to launch it off my sixth floor balcony means that there is an issue, but thanks anyway. So, this was after waiting on hold for 45mins! Then i was transferred from the technical team to the sales department. This time the young girl i got was actually able to speak english and actually understood what my problem was. Halelujah i thought, but when i asked if i could upgrade i was told that this was not possible as i was in a contract! So yeh, fun! Again i was told there was nothing wrong with the network or my phone, but if i felt the need i could purchase another handset! Yeh right!!! So, all care and no responsibility! I pay for a service that im really not getting. How is it Vodafone can afford to sponser the cricket (and the Australian teams performance is just as dismal as the Vodafone network) but can't fix the network that their millions of customers are forced to pay for. Service....i dont think they know what that word means!!! So, after many calls to Vodafone and nil result and still the poor service and reception im glad that finally the consumer has a way of being able to vent about what we are being forced to pay for! Im sure if i didnt pay by bill on time, Vodafone would be pretty quick to take action and disconnect my service!

I wrote this afternoon about my gripes with vodafone. On both my internet and mobile phone I am experiencing constant drop outs. Sometimes I just cannot connect at all. I rang the number they gave on "today tonight" to be put through that stupid woman asking you questions and not understanding what you want. Eventually I made her understand to be told to ring back tomorrow as all customer services were closed. Thanks again vodafone. I am paying for their service and am getting frustration for it.

7472 Someone from ACT thinks vodafone is Extreme Fail at 28 Dec 2010 06:37:24 PM
I dont know where to start!!! I have contacted Vodafone that many times I have lost count in this month alone. I have had continual problems with my phone from having no service to limited service whilst remaining in the same place. I have frequently been unable to call from my phone without having to switch it off, take the battery out and put in back in and wait for it to restart itself which takes anywhere from 1 min to 5 minutes all just to make a phone call even then more often then not after attempting to call I will hear those annoying three tones and " call failed" pops up on the screen. This is happening more and more. Again with service problem, trying to send text messages takes at least three attempts for it to go through and for those attempts that are unsuccessful I am given the alert "equipment failed" - thats an understatement!! and a further service complaint, as part of my contract I am entitled to 50MB of internet usage/downloads and for months this has been compromised and only working occasionally but as of the last three weeks I have completely lost internet access with a message appearing saying "A communication failure has occurred. The server may be busy, please try again later. If the problem persists please contact your service provider." - good luck with that!!! Not to mention the day i was doing the dishes and heard the artificial camera sound as though someone was taking a photo, being home alone i found this quite disturbing... my phone had started taking pictures all on its own and i was unable to stop it doing this, i couldn't turn the phone off so the only way to stop it was to take the battery out, in which case my husband was unable to contact me being that my mobile is my only phone in the house, i turned my phone back on some time later to find it was till doing the same thing... we have video footage of this on my husbands phone. all of the above has been extremely frustrating and having being into Vodafone shops to asks for assistance and yet not gotten anywhere with it has made it even more frustrating. I was told that they could not send it away because at the time that i had the phone in the Vodafone store they workers in there shouldn't "see" anything wrong with the phone. the second time i went in to the store to have my phone fixed they told me they couldn't offer me a "loan phone" as they didn't have any left therefore sending my phone away would have left me completely phoneless... not an option for me and considering i am still paying $79 a month (actually $88.98 includes phone insurance... fat lot of good it was getting insurance!!) i dont think it is fair to be still paying for something that is either sent away for two weeks or is not working.

But the straw that broke the camels back was 4 weeks ago when my father had a heart attack i was unable to use my phone, i had to travel interstate and was unable to contact my husband and immediate family on my travels. This only added to the upsetting circumstances. So on return home from visiting my ill father I rang Vodafone and requested to either end my contract or have my contract upgrade in attempt to get a phone that works, initially i was offered and 50% deduction on the early upgrade fee meaning that i would have to pay ~$150 to be able to upgrade my phone. i don't know about anybody else but there is no way i am going to pay MORE money to get a phone that works when I am already paying $88.98 a month for something that is not working... seriously. I was then put through to the manager of loyalty and i explained all of the above and he assured me that I have every reason to be upset with the service is have received and that he would enable me to be upgraded and that I would receive a new handset in 7-10 days and that this should fix the problems I have being having. Given that I made that phone call 0n 5th Dec 2010 and I had still not received my new phone on the 20th of Dec I started to get quite annoyed, however I did receive a phone call from Vodafone and told that if I paid my "overdue" bill then my upgrade could be started to be process... so yes nothing had been done for those two weeks obviously.

As for the supposed "overdue Bill" (that wasn't overdue) this had been paid 4-5 days prior but their system had not updated it. I explained that I was extremely disappointed that it had not been processed earlier and that I expected this to be done right there and then as I had already been quite patient and still had a phone with poor service and that wasn't working properly. He assured me that this would be attended to. I was then called a day or two later ringing to let me know that they had received the payment of my bill and that they could now process my upgrade.. obviously this still day not been done and for the third time in three phone calls I corrected my postal address with them. After all of this I came to the conclusion that I was obviously not a valued customer and I would ring and speak with the manager and let them know how disappointed I was and inform them that I wish to cancel my dealings with Vodafone... the reply I received when I told them this was "Well I find this very disappointing"..... they find it disappointing????? I have given Vodafone every chance to keep me as their customer and have been paying for something that has not worked according to its contract agreement. THAT is disappointing!!!!

But after speaking with the Loyalty manager i was told that there were too many calls in the line for the cancellations department for me to speak with them at the time and that she would make sure they called me back within 24-48 hours..... AND.... OF COURSE I still haven't heard from them six days later. I called them yesterday, that being three days after i was told i would hear from them by and informed that the cancellations department was closed and would be reopened on Wednesday that being tomorrow. Calling them tomorrow morning will be the first thing I do.

You know the reason I was with Vodafone was because I was told that they had the best customer service over and above other Telecompanies, let face it, it definitely wasn't because it has the best service network!

But of course when I signed up i was "Guaranteed" that the service will only get better.... I would have to DEFINITELY have to disagree!!! It has only gotten worse and given that Vodafone has proven me wrong in thinking that they had good customer service i am left believe that Vodafone as a company has absolutely nothing left to offer!!! Very Disappointed... Thank you for reading my novel titled "Pure Vodafail"

7459 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Mind blowing fail at 28 Dec 2010 06:35:51 PM
I signed up with them then when about to travel overseas, wanting international roaming turned on, thats all i was after.
while sitting at the airport waiting for my plane, I called the "customer service" line after 50 mins on hold my plane was boarding and had to hangup, going overseas without phone coverage.

Then, 3 months later when moving overseas i tried again, firstly going to a vodafone store, they told me they call the same number I do and may have to wait several hours.
So I though id just try again when at the airport. after over 1 hour on hold in the first attempt, then another 40 mins on hold an hour later ( had to hangup cause we moved areas and lost signal)

So now that I moved to newzealand, I emailed them (finally hunted down an address from their mess of a website.)
I told them i want to cancel my contract because of the horrid service.
They email me back stating they will send my final bill, they did, i got it in newzealand, but thought it's paid via direct debit.

Now the fun part.

8months later i move back to Australia, after no further contact from vodafone, not via the email address or actual post( I know they've got my address, i got the one letter)

I am greeted with a debt collection notice for $130 that when I call vodaphone they put me straight to the debt collectors office as soon as I give my details, not even telling me I'm bring transferred to a different company.

So i pay the bill, but afterward find out that I now have a flag on my name and nearly missed out on getting a home for my family because of a $130 debit.

No one at vodafone ever got back to me to clear my info or to let me ask why i was not contacted further regarding this outstanding amount.

I'll never go back to vodafone, not for ANY reason.
30 Dec 2010 06:03:25 PM: That sounds like a big load of shit. "Oh I am going overseas; might just leave it until I am about to board the plane to put international roaming on." Think about shit before you type it, internet warrior.
7 Jan 2011 09:11:26 AM: You are correct, a Telco default for even $130 can cost you a LOT more than the initial amount disputed in money, lifestyle and lost opportunity which you will never be compensated for. Telco defaults on people's CRAA's are one of the most common form of listings, damaging, and amongst the most expensive to remove, though the success rate is around 80%. Let me know if you want some assistance to try and remove it. PH

I was told the service in our area was good and had nothing but problems with the phone and the service. Constantly out of reception and dropping out while on calls. I have tried to call through numerous times and as I only had my vodafone mobile for a while, everytime I would try to call the customer service my phone would cut out whilst on hold. Sometimes I would be on hold for a period of 2 minutes and my phone would cut out. Anyhow one day I finally got through, it only took 4hrs!!!! ON HOLD FOR 4 HRS!!!!! They told me they would call back, which they did on my mobile that I was calling about ( It has NO reception I told them) so needless to say I didn't get the message until days later when I was in town and my reception decided to work! I could go on and on, I am still in the process of fighting this with them, but they have admited to me that they have found that I do indeed NOT have any reception and left my hubby with a reference number for me to follow up. The thing is It is so stressful having to explain myself everytime and being put on hold for hours each time, who has the time for this.

Loss of business. Sending texts twice when only sent once or texts not even getting thru and not saying that they have not sent. so messages are going somewere just dont know were. Extreme holding times to talk to a customer service person. Not able to access the internet thru an iphone when away from wi fi at home. Getting cut off in the middle of conversations or line goes blank when talking on the phone and takes a very long time to cut itself out or just keeps the timer rolling if i dont manually end call. Found that my husband has an online account in his name and he has never set one up, tried to access it but the birthdate is wrong for the password to access it, tried to ring vodafone to find out what it was about and cant get thru to anyone to even inquire. went to a vodafone store today they couldnt give us any info because there system is down yet again. so sick of this. I have been a customer with vodafone for 11 years and it breaks my heart to switch to telstra but they have just pushed it too far. everytime we ring we get rude people its just not on.

I live in a pretty densely populated suburb, and I can't even recieve calls sometimes, or make them - and at times can't even get my GPS working when I need to find business addresses.

They are shoddy and I will feel much better telling them that their coverage sucks. They do not deserve $80 a month to provide piss-poor service and to have coverage that barely lets me hold a conversation, or even check my mail on the go.

Sod them!!!

We're in cyclone season in Darwin and I'm on call in the event of a cyclone. Unfortunately Vodafone network goes offline during even minor storms. First call to customer service basically blamed me for living in Darwin. 2nd call ended with me on hold for 2.5hrs before they hung up on me. 3rd call had me on hold for another 2hrs and no result. 4th call had me on hold for 1.5hrs, Vodafone agreed to waive my bill for my two phones for three months, still shitty coverage.
5th call was to telecommunications onbudsman. Vodafone call me and get stuck into me for not trying harder with their customer service people.
Last call was to Telstra to change carrier.

7376 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Very poor internet connection at 28 Dec 2010 06:21:43 PM
I have been a customer of Vodafone Prepaid Mobile Broadband for more than a year now. I thought there was a problem with our rental unit that's why my internet connection always dropping out till I tried the Telstra service last week and I watched the news yesterday about Vodafone poor service. I really thought that the problem was our apartment we are living in and we will still experience the same problem whatever broadband network we use.

I bought the vodafone mobile broadband for my wife's use in her studies and to get in touch with our families abroad. The Vodafone store staff in Sunnybank where I bought it said that they have good broadband reception in Algester area where we live so there's no problem using their service. On the first month, their service was not that poor but as the days went by, it became poorer and poorer which made me think that I had problem with the rental apartment unit we are living in. Everytime my wife has uni assignment, we just go out and drive to her sister's place which is 5 minutes away from our place to use their Bigpond broadband service because we cannot rely on our Vodafone service which keeps on dropping off. Till one of my friend dropped by last week bringing with him a Telstra prepaid broadband which I tried and worked well. So I immediately bought the following day a Telstra prepaid broadband which we are now using. The pain and shame of driving to my sister-in-law's place to use their broadband and staying their till midnight or later just to finish my wife's assignment is now over. From now on, we will never use Vodafone services anymore... JB

Husband and i have been a reliable customers of Vodafone for over 10 years, On 4th Dec, We decided to upgrade our phones, went to the Vodafone store and signed up on another 2year contract, since that day i have had 3 replacements of the same phone and my husband has had 2. We had enough, After being on hold for 40+ minutes many many times, (one time over 2 hours) told customer services that we want to change handsets completely they said go back to the store, and when i get to the store they say they cant authorise that and we have to take the phones home and get the customer service centre to send out new (different) handsets, customer services said because we got them in the store we have to get them to change the handsets , am getting the major run around,... have 2 phones and cant use them, but are still getting charged for contract, said cancel the contract, keep the phones and was told i would have to pay out the contract.
The customer service centres and the stores are pathetic... left hand has no idea what right hand is doing, VERY VERY POOR FOR INTERNATIONAL COMPANY...

After receiving an out of the ordinary phone bill for well over $300 for one month, I requested a fully itemised account from Vodafone. 4 months later, 7 phone calls, each time having to wait on hold from 30 to more than 45 minutes, I have received 5 copies of my original invoice (without the itemised call details). During my 5th phone call to Vodafone, I became frustrated, requesting to speak with either their supervisor or someone in Australia, both of which was refused. When I called the 7th time, I didn't bother explaining the problem with the CSO, but requested I be put through to the floor supervisor immediately. After fully explaining exactly what I want, the supervisor still emailed me the original invoice. I've now forwarded the issues with our Communications Ombudsman and am now waiting for contact from Vodafone. Of course, even though I've kept paying the payment plan on my mobile, they've cut off my phone service, which was poor anyway, especially once we leave Adelaide metro area. I'm so appalled at Vodafone's service and intelligence, especially considering this is my 3rd phone contract with Vodafone and I even convinced my partner to get a Vodafone mobile early 2009. Never again will I sign up with Vodafone nor will I ever recommend Vodafone to anybody again. What happened to them? Why have they outsourced their service centre to an overseas location, who can't even understand nor speak simple English!!!

No coverage, calls dropping out, text messages arriving 50 times in a row or taking 12+ hours. Customer service does not exist, phone to call centre who are more interested in selling me an upgraded plan, then say, after 25 mins hold and 5 mins talking that they will put me through to someone who can help, after which the phone hangs up. Try online help, they WILL NOT answer, they keep sending authorisation checks which are completed but not understood or read, after several emails I get one back that says it has been 120 hours since they asked me to provide information which was supplied in each email I sent. I have left Vodafone for good and gone to Exetel. Good luck if you are with them, I hope you can get out of your contract.

I never get my voicemails until days later and because of this I have missed out on so much work. My friends and family are constantly trying to call me but missed calls dont show up on the phone till hours later.. Call drop out is 99.9% of every call. I have called vodafone so many times and got the same response from them saying get a new phone get a new sim card!!! My response was I have a new phone and a sim card but they would still continue to say get a new sim or turn your phone off! What gets me is that if we dont pay our phone bill they disconnect our phone but why should we being paying for a service wen we r not even getting any kind of service from vodafone at all!! Aonther thing is facebook on ur phone it has been 6 weeks and still my facebook wont work, its lets you log in but then it keeps getting out of it, it wont let you see ur notifications or any profiles! customer services said 5 weeks ago that it would be fixed but still it has not. I work as a Traffic Controller and thus i recieve my jobs on a daily basis and thanks to Vodafone i sometimes miss vital calls which means no work etc. The latest thing to happen to me really got me mad thanks to Vodafone Customer Service, I was travelling home late one night on the m1 on queenslands roads when my car broke down and miles from a service station so i called Vodafail Customer Service for a number of a 24 hour towing service so i could get the car home when the smart ass lady on the phone told me to look in the yellow pages and then hung up on me ( I'm stranded on the highway, this is why i called). This lady did not care about me which is why i hope she ends up stranded on the highway, hopefully near belangalo state forest and why i will be changing telco service providers.

I have been a loyal vodafone customer since 2000 and whithin the last 6 months i have had nothing but cronic pain with them. In July i upgraded to and Iphone, upgraded my plan and the next month i got a bill for $1200, including 2 different contract charges a contract cancelation charge and an excessive data charge, it took me 6 months nearly and to lodge a complaint with the TIO before i could have all but the monthly fee waved due to the incompetance of the customer service staff. They did not start my new plan when they said they would thus incurring the data charges, they did not update my account properly thus incurring the contract cancellation fee and since then i have not been able to use any data and barely make calls without it failing at home, So basically i pay $120 a month for a fone and data contract i can't use when i'm home. This is outrageous and i'm stuck with it for 18 months unless i pay out the contract/ fone finance deal so i can port to a different carrier.

I would almost vote that Vodafone is now the worst mobile provider in Australia and have the worst customer service i have ever experienced with being on hold for crazy amounts of time and honestly can anyone understand what the damn operators that "CLAIM" to be in say melbourne for example but clearly have a crazy strong totaly impossible to understand accent YEH RIGHT.

My partner and I both signed up for 24 month iphone contracts in a vodafone store at the end of 2009. We live in Beerwah, QLD and we were assured that our area would have complete 3G coverage. However this was of course not the case. We could not make phone calls or receive txt messages at all! I must have called them about 10 times to resolve the issue. The first time they said the would get back to me within 48 hours but they never did... in fact when I called back again they had no record of my issue. It was a month and a half that this was going on and in the end my partner and I SOLD our iphones after being told by vodafone that the issue was due to the antenna in the phones. (I knew this was a possibility, however I put my mums telstra sim in my iphone - completely fine, full bars) So we repalced our iphones with HTC desires and of course have little or no reception again. I called again about the issue and they said they would cancel our contracts, but we had to SEND BACK THE IPHONES! Why didnt they say that before?!?! Instead of telling us its not vodafone and to try other phones?? Anyway, we pay $80 a month for contracts with $400 caps and we dont even come close to getting our money's worth... can't even send a text message in an area that is supposed to be full 3G coverage. Vodafone, your customer service is dreadful and your coverage is even worse.

To all of the Vodafone customers who are suffering at present from failures with service, reception and lack of customer service. .
As a Vodafone employee we feel your pain too, because we are the people that get abused, harassed, threatened, spat at and so forth for something that we have no control over. It must be made clear that there has been a massive merger between two companies to produce one. There will always be some type of teething problems with such an enormous merge. We try our best day in and day out to provided the best customer service we can, though it is not appreciated that we need a website to create more issues for customers and employees and can cause harm for all affected. (we have Wikileaks for that) Are the comments being left on this site sensible and ethical?? not likely, do most of the consumers know what it takes to run a telecommunication network?? not likely, do most of the consumers posting comments on this site give them the right to abuse employees?? It seems that if everyone had there brand new Iphone 4 and could make a call from 1000 feet underground then there wouldn't be these ridiculous comments being made on how to scam your way out of a contract from "experienced people" in the industry or childish comments of how a company is trying to scam each and everyone of you for everything that you are worth. It all started when I received a post paid pack the next day, they stole my $99 immediately, I called and they couldnt help, they said I was sent the wrong pack, and after atleast 10 x 1 Hour phone calls, I was told there was nothing that could be done becuase I was sent the wrong pack and wasnt supplied a phone number, so therefore wasnt eligible for a refund, I have called atleast anothe 10 times since, each call taking between 1 and 1.5 hours, I am sure they have some kind of mechanism that only puts you on que after an hour, same old story, having to explain my situation each time because there are no notes on the system, then I am told to send an email I do, then get one back, I have sent 8 since, telling me the only department that can help is customer servie by phone, then I call and they tell me there are no notes and why am I so upset if I havent called before and they need a chance to sort it out, yeh, 25 phone calls, over an hour each and 8 emails, why didnt I do something about it...
basically, I have paid $99 for a modem I cannot use and am not entitled to a refund, because Vodafone didnt send me a number to register, their fault, yet I must suffer...

Vodafone have to have the poorest Customer Service I have ever experienced. I hold for over an hour only to be greeted by someone who can barely speak English! 7259 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Sick of Vodafone at 28 Dec 2010 05:58:20 PM
I took out a contract in July this year, after the recieving the phone. I was not happy with the phone itself. The battery life was terrible poor mobile and data coverage. I called vodafone and after numerous efforts to talk to an actual person I finally got through. Thy told me to go to my nearest vodafone store the only problem was that it is over an hour away.

They then told me that they would send a postage bag and I could send the phone back the only problem is that I never received the bag. After trying to call back again numerous times. I got defeated and have put up with poor service in both mobile coverage and data coverage ever since. I dont even get coverage in my own house. I constanly miss call and some voice mails dont come through until hours later. I use this phone for my small business also and it has cost me customers.

I tried to transfer the contact to my mother who lives in Sydney thinking that she might get better coverage than me in Rockhampton Queensland. Vodafone then told me I have to go into a store with my mother otherwise we cant do it. If they dont know Rockhampton is a 22 hour drive from Sydney.

I am a very upset vodafone customer

I recently canceled my contract with vibraphone for two many reasons to mention. They offered me an early exit payout figure i agreed to this - then they sent me a bill for triple the amount i KEEP CALLING AND ALL I EVER GOT WAS SOMEONE IN INDIA-how do i know as the person said they were based at the airport that's very strange as i work there and they could not even describe the area hm mm.even though my contract does not exist iam still being billed go figure-then they send me an automatic debt collection letter for $48.00 wow this is the last straw.
I sick and tired of paying for poor coverage and drop outs. Very frustrating... As well as customer service (or lack of) that have no idea on the problems. All customer service want to do is transfer you and argue with you about the problem. I have lodge a complaint with the telecommunications industry ombudsman, asking Vodafone to terminate my contract and my sons as well. They are yet to get back to me.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU CALL VODAFONE ???????????????????

There is a slut who introduces herself as Lara ( Like i give a fuck about her) After more than three rounds of automated menus you are offered "if you are thinking of leaving Vodafone" strangely its option "4". When you eventually get through there is silence on the line as the unnamed operator waits for you to say something. If you dont say something they dont either.Theres no 'Hello welcome to vodafone, how may we help you' ... its just silence.Maybe them hoping you will go away.

I never find out the person im speaking to.

It appears (and I still struggle to believe this is true) that the sole purpose of option 4 at Vodafone is to tell the customer they can't leave for reason a, b or c or indeed to explain they may leave but must first pay an exhorbitant sum of money for the priviledge.

The service is crap because im sure they have worked out a tolerance threshold and have calculated the likely impact of churn on revenue ,and has worked out that if you keep your shit below this threshold you make more money by ignoring and abusing your customers.

Their customer service and plans have gotten worse. Vodafone has no landline infrastructure to maintain so they should be able to offer far better prices than Telstra.

Poor customer service.

Kept telling me to reset the phone.

Phone message to ppl calling in said my phone was off ( it's never off).

Phone cut off during call to vodafone and that never called back.

Kept trying to give me extra data when I was complaining about not being able to use my phone Internet.

Won't release me from contract even when EVERY month they do not love up to their end of the contract.

7223 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is where do i start? at 28 Dec 2010 05:54:08 PM
I also am experiencing the phone drop outs. Normally its about 1 minute in. I also go to call people and it doesn't connect. I also fail to receive messages on time. After calling vodafone and waiting on hold for half an hour the lady eventually said that i have call barrings activated (yes, I personally chose to block messages to my phone). For everyone out there who are having this problem dial #330*0000# and then it will say call barrings canceled.

I also had a problem paying my bill online, i called customer service and eventually managed to contact a vodafone phone answerer. I say it like this because I couldn't understand a word she was saying and visa versa. She told me that I could pay my bill over the phone but she couldn't guarantee that it would register as paid. She gave me a three day extension. I then since managed to pay it but three weeks on it still hasn't registered that ive payed even though its been taken out of my account. I went into the vodafone shop and told them about it and they said there was nothing they could do and I would have to contact customer care. What is the point of having a shop if you cant get help from them? Just there to make sales and faulty promises.

Also, my bill this month has miraculously gained a couple of dollars. From them sending me your bill is now due message, it now says after texting 1512 that its extra few dollars. Of course i cant get through to customer "care". Although I did email them. However i received an automated response listing nothing more then what was available on the internet. It then changed the status of my communication to "Solved" which meant no further action would be taken. I then replied to that response and got another email saying that it would be up to a couple of months due to "holiday" period before I would get a response.

I also fail to get reception for most of the day at work. I work in a well populated metropolitan area and still have no reception. Its pathetic.

My boyfriend took his phone into the store to get fixed, after telling him that it would be fixed withing 2 weeks and no phone replacement phone could be offered he contacted them 3 months later to find out what was going on. They said they had been trying to contact him. He found out they were ringing his mobile number (after he had requested they ring his work phone). How helpful. Little did they know he had borrowed an old phone from a friend and had no miss calls over the period of that 3 months.

Lara, the automated phone answering service is pathetic. Its ridiculous and it takes over 5 minutes to get transferred to a help department who then put you on hold.

Their bill checking service also conveniently is unavailable towards the end of the billing period so you can not check your balance and adjust usage accordingly .One day, you've got $100 left, the next day your minus $20 when only 10 messages were sent.

In summary, I'm am so unsatisfied with the service Vodafone provide and cannot wait to get out of my contract! Kudos for bringing this lack of service to the public's attention and getting the majority to unite to force Vodafone to act.

I have been a customer for a while now, however when I wanted to just upgrade my phone, the vodafone stores told me that they did not have the ability to organise that for me, instead they said to ring customer service and it can be done. Well, hours upon hours of waiting, even after midnight I tried and still I couldn't get through, even six in the morning and no answer, I went back to the store, and again they said they couldn't do it and to just keep trying. After many attempts of wanting to upgrade to the new iphone 4 finally within 20 minutes OUT OF SHEER LUCK that I got through only to have to talk to an indian I couldn't even understand!

7158 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is From A to Z, I will give it a Z--- at 28 Dec 2010 05:44:26 PM
Hi there,

I just want to convey how I am very disappointed with the service of Vodafone. I signed up to a contract 2+ years ago under my guardian's name because I was still under 18 back then. I was expecting to experience the so-called 'the best operator' service. To be honest, the service that Vodafone gives over the 2 years was very bad, I have failed to receive reception when I go to certain areas in Victoria. Often, I also have problem sending and receiving International messages.

Switching the name from my guardian to myself was very VERY very VERY difficult; the operator keeps asking for a whole bunch of stuffs that don't seem too important. I had quiet a difficult time to communicate with the operators, not that their English is bad but they keep assuming the stuffs that I know and that I don't know; and as a customer, I don't want to listen to a customer service saying "HEY, you don't know this!".

Now that I just realized I have $60 credit in my guardian's account, I have called Vodafone customer care and AGAIN, they make it very difficult for me. I do understand that for security reasons Vodafone will need to authorize whoever is claiming the credit. BUT HEY! Let's just think for a second here; if my guardian has said that I can be passed as the next account holder of the number, then it means that my guardian is saying "Yes, this guy has used the number for the last 2 years that the contract was on". If that's the case then is it that difficult to know and understand that the $60 belongs to me.

I really think that Vodafone needs to review its policies on changing the account holder. At the end of the day, we both want something from the other party. Me, as a customer, I want to have convenience using Vodafone and in my honest opinion, the convenience that Vodafone is serving (especially over the last few months when I tried to change the account holder's name and claiming the credit, which I don't seem to be successful with) is very very disappointing.

Best regards,

Harris

7124 Someone from ACT thinks vodafone is Vodafone can go fuck themselves. at 28 Dec 2010 05:34:07 PM
I tried to cancell my contract , I was told multiple times that I had been canceled by vodafone, but THEN I kept getting post saying it was being processed. Every time I got one of those letters I rang customer service and was lied to. I was hung up on multiple times, usually while in the middle of a sentence. I was promised half a dozen call backs and never got any. I was repeatedly told no supervisors were available to escalate my call, when I could clearly hear people giving the person I was speaking to instructions in the backgroud

AT the end i bought myself out of my mobile contract with them by sending them back a 6 month old HTC desire.

The one call I got from them was the day after I spent money to get the fuck out of my mobile contract so that I would never have to deal with the useless pricks again. The guy who rang was also the only person who seemed even remotely competent.

Vodafone can go fuck themselves.

To cancel a contract that is meant to be finishing I was told by a very rude customer service consultant i will need to pay $400 as part of a cancellation fee (even though i have close to 2 weeks to go) which is the first i heard about plus outstanding charges which i dont have, when i disputed it i was told that there lawyers would be in contact.
To Vodafone bring it on with your lawyers i have prove of everything

I have a problem with their mobile broadband service. It's rubbish, with slow service at the best of times and no service at all at the worst of times. I live in metropolitan Brisbane which shouldn't be a tricky place for a decent services. I am quitting after my contract is up in June 2011. When contacting their customer service, I am on hold for ages and get non English speaking staff who don't care and say there is no problem. It's not good enough.

Here is an email I sent to Vodafone only a few minutes ago after being on hold for over 35mins.

Hi,

I've been a Vodafone user for over 15 years and have not have many problems until the past few months. The problems I'm experiencing is as follows:

Dropped calls
SMS takes 24 hours or more to send and receive
MMS messages not receive to I send them to
Mobile internet very slow and drops out
Visual Voice-mail on my iPhone 4, receives messages hours and sometimes days after the message has been left

All these above problems happen when I have what appears to be full signal strength.

I am paying for a service I believe that Vodafone is not supplying.
Also it is very difficult to get through to any customer service staff.
Does Vodafone think that its customers have hours to sit and wait on hold?

I will be reconsidering my service with Vodafone over the next few months and I may recommend to my Family, Friends and Work mates to avoid Vodafone if the want to receive a quality service.

Vodafone should stop sponsoring the Cricket and invest money in its network

I hope to get a reply from this email. But as with the mobile service I doubt it.

Thanks

I randomly lost credit and was charged to send FREE texts. I was also told I had free Facebook and Twitter on my phone, yet I was charged when I went on Facebook and Twitter. I tried to take matters into my own hands and call 1555 to speak to an operator, I was on hold for an hour and a half the first time and fours hours the next time that I tried on a different day. I sent them a complaint email, and to their credit, they replied in 2 days but it still does not erase the fact that they put me on hold for six and half hours total. IN the email reply they stated, "Vodafone regrets any inconvenience you have experienced due to the delays you have encountered. Vodafone are attempting to address the longer queues by investigating our current rosters, we are also currently training new staff that shall be available to take calls in the near future." Please train people faster and so they actually know what they are doing.
When I tried calling previously to ask a question about my faulty phone, I was put on hold for a lengthy amount of time and was then forwarded somewhere that was of no help.
I also had no coverage for half of Christmas day.
I am sick of talking to 'Lara' and I want REAL customer service, or I'm moving companies. Sorry Vodafone, I've been with you for at least 5 years and now you've completely lost the plot. Hmm.. What company should I choose? Optus? Telstra??

I run a small security firm, I signed a contract at All Phones placing a condition on the contract: Subject to coverage Deer Park-Rockbank.
After failing to send bills for three months in the business name, as appearing on the contract, I attempted to resolve and discuss the issue at times faxing them the lost contract (weekly). I refused to pay the Bill until it was changed into the contracted-business name which still has not happened. They tried defaulting my credit rating and the Credit Agency on contacting them removed the Default within weeks of being provided with all documents. Service and coverage is so much worse than the Largest Telco whom we all hate due to same lack of customer service and time placed on hold to fix issues!

Vodafone has the worst customer service i have ever experienced and once my contract is finished i am leaving vodafone and joining a better service. I am an anonynmous employee of Vodafone. I currently work at a Vodafone store where i can say i genuinley feel our customers pain. I am backing this website 100% and glad to finally see that some serious action has been taken against my employer. As an employee at a store who tries to deliever the best service with every customer i encounter, i feel we are also treated poorly and given tools which can be proven at sometimes to be 'hopeless'. We as frontline staff are also directed to use the general cutomer care number 1300 650 410 which even staff wait 2hrs at times! There is another number we are able to use however it can also endure a painful wait for our customer from 20mins-1hr waits often only to be transffered back to our general customer care and most of the time 'getting nowhere' till the customer gives up and leaves the store, then an email is forwarded on, there is no simple/immediate resolution. It is extremely embarrassing and frustrating when you are an employee and one of those told to back your compamny by the company when you feel they are not even backing their employess with the right tools and expecting employess to deliver great customer service. We experience alot of frustration and anger from customer which i can totally empathise with. It can be very mentally challenging and many times have you in tears. As an employee agree with the customer but feel i have no tools, support, genuineness and most importantly trust from vodafone to deliver a great service eg. as a manager i have to call to get credits on accounts, call for repairs that have been misplaced, call for approval on pretty much any action which includes helping the customer. This includes network isses which i feel as an employee are not taken seriously by our care team. Vodafone need to get their act together, give employees and customers the power to resolve issue immedialey over the phone and store contact. IT IS AN OUTRAGE that i as an employee has to agree with Adam. Go Adam!!
28 Dec 2010 05:17:20 PM: Thank you for your comment. It means a lot to the Vodafail team coming from an employee. We feel your pain as well and have tried to communicate to the customers here that it is not the store employee's fault. We hope the situation could be resolved soon and you can receive some more support from the company. - Vodafail Team
28 Dec 2010 08:47:07 PM: you should NOT be in customer service, my honest suggestion is that you change your profession. Things cannot also be solved with a cick of the fingers and to make it sound like your company is a complete mess is grossly incorrect a poor worker blames his tools, There is a reason why this saying has been around for so long. it sounds like you are completely dishonest to customers. i would like to see proof that the higher management told you to lie to customers as this is what you seem to be inciting. You should make it your goal, your mission to record every customer complaint and ensure that you reply to every single customer yourself directly!!, The fact is as a vodafone manager you have failed to communicate the problems effectively and have waited to the excuse my language "shite has hit the fan" and are now blaming higher management and try to make yourself the victim. i know i might sound harsh but just admit that you are as much to blame if you were doing your job and the others that hold the same role did too this website would NOT exist
29 Dec 2010 12:20:05 AM: ^^ did you not read his post? is it his fault that the network is struggling to cope? do you want this store manager to climb the local voda tower and fix it while you wait in store? fuck, you are a retard.

I am not writing on their behalf, but I encourage you to think about it. Thank you for posting- I hope that it discourages unhappy customers from lashing out at the only VF people they can contact. You don't have the ability,in store, to "drop out".Have you considered Stress leave? Maybe, almost joking, a class action by store employees against VF, for forcing you to bear the brunt of inaction higher up in VF?

7024 Someone from Somewhere else thinks vodafone is Very at 28 Dec 2010 05:13:20 PM
Go Adam!!

7023 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Even worse at Customer Service than Telstra!! at 28 Dec 2010 05:13:13 PM
Vodafone about 3-4 years ago was better than Telstra - Optus = NO COVERAGE - so we are limited with telco choice. Heck I can LIVE with poor coverage in certain areas, but if I pay for a phone and it DID work in my home, then I expect that it should continue - what REALLY peeves me if the way that you CANNOT contact them at all - the 'contact us' on their website is not active - you wait for hours on hold and THEN if you happen to hit the jackpot and actually get through to a real person - they can't help you anyway and just offer rubbish platitudes than make you feel like you have wasted your time!!
As for LARA - she should be fired from a nuclear missile to hell and beyond

7022 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is mobile and internet at 28 Dec 2010 05:13:05 PM
drop out during important business call and emails. Losing catering deals due to drop outs and no reception to call back and through emails.extra charges to retrieve voicemails whilst the mobile has not rung.costs lost are at least $1500 over the last 2 months to my business due to their poor and no service.
When I ve call on a number of times their service is rediculous especially the recorded voice of LARA it drops out, she doesnot understand what you really need and you are put on hold for hours and get nowhere which in the mea time you run a business and your customers see you on the phone and walk out.
Once i left my number and yes they call me back at around 7-8 pm and after explaining the situation to them they stated that they would get technical support to call me back which they never have till date. And to top it off the people you do talk to over the customer care line are not from Australia and have an accent which they do not understand your needs. Pathetic poor service!!!

I am tired of having calls drop out or having slow data with Vodafone, especially in metro areas! No more referrals from me Vodafone, you've lost my business and many of my friends and colleageues, not to mention our corporate account we are now cancelling and moving over to another carrier! Poor service and NO communication to us about the problems and what they are doing to fix it!

7007 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Name appears under "fail" in dictionary at 28 Dec 2010 05:09:45 PM
Rejoined Vodafone in March 2010 and within the month remembered why I left in the first place. Took 8 weeks to get my voicemail set up (website down & tires of being placed on hold by India - store staff of no help), call dropouts every day, daily call failures - 4 bars yet still searches for reception. Tried having a conversation with a fellow Vodafone user (he was in Merrylands I in Balmain) phone dropped out about 15 times. Poor service and if it didn't cost me so much to get out of contract I'd be gone.

6986 Someone from SA thinks vodafone is Dead to me at 28 Dec 2010 05:06:24 PM
Hi,
I was a Microwave satellite communications technician and an Austel licenced telecommunications technician.
When I assisted Vodafone to put their mobile networks together around 15 years ago, they were the place to be.

Telstra had reliable coverage, but at great expense. They never seemed to be there when you really needed the coverage or the customer service.

Optus had lousy coverage with excellent customer service. But in direct competition with LIFELINE, they could counsel the customer to the point of curing mental illness...(if the line didn't drop out first...)

The end result of all this was that about half of all mobile calls were connected, completed and subsequently charged exorbitantly by Telstra.
At least when the other half of calls dropped out, you had someone who you could whinge to at Optus who would say "Yes" quite a lot.

Out of this came the shining beacon that was Vodafone. With their reasonable call rates, customer service and coverage!!! Once the news was out, all the technicians switched to vodafone in a flash.

Yes coverage! Vodafone had their own equipment! Without even resorting to network rental arrangements like all the other carriers had to do - 3, boost, dodo etc.
Because of this I used Vodafone for mobile telephone service for over 10 years, still do unfortunately.
Not for much longer!

Then I bought a prepaid broadband USB modem through Vodafone. After going to numerous Vodafone stores to wait AN HOUR to be served, only to find that the USB unit had "sold out" or was "out of stock". I then arrived at 2 separate Vodafone shop locations actively listed on the Vodafone website that were out of business.

I could have had the USB modem delivered by carrier pigeon by then, or made one myself with a broken digimon and a stick. As a tech I have installed (or failed) 4 of these units now, no two are alike. PC compatibility issues are rife.
The $49 USB modem does not even work in most netbooks, effectively making them underpowered miniature desktops.

Reception is appalling. I can see the tower from my house, it is 30 metres away. Line of sight!
As for the install - It would have taken less time to write the prepaid broadband USB software myself than to install it.
Registering, connecting and doing the initial install was the single most slow, painful and emotionally harrowing process I have had to endure in 20 years of software installation. It must be illegal under some convention somewhere...

Vodafone must have their website powered by underfed anorexic dyslexic hamsters.
These Hamsters are multitasking as the overworked software engineers...
The dead Hamsters in the bottom of the cage used to work customer service...

Mobile Broadband reception still drops out in the slightest breeze like UHF used to. I have tried USB extension cords (with some minor increase in signal strength) and modified broadband antennas. I am now blasting myself with enough RF to create my own personal cancer cluster or reheat a meat pie in three minutes...
At least it keeps my coffee warm while I sit through the install program - AGAIN!!!

Short of putting my PC in a Faraday cage and raising my own antenna mast or installing a parabolic dish on my head I cannot see Vodafone providing anyone with a usable mobile broadband connection.

Let's face it Vodafone, these towers were never designed to carry this amount of data traffic at this bandwidth.
The equipment is 15 years old, outdated, superseded and needs to be able to provide a continuous, consistent, reliable and strong signal. Roaming from tower to tower, 3G to GPRS and back again is painful, costly and disruptive.

Retailers should install "Vodafone" recycling bins at the front of retail premises. The junior work experience kid's arse has been turned into a thrashed USB port by the sheer number of returns this Christmas.

It's only 30 metres from my place to the tower. Hmmm... Maybe if I get a long piece of coax and climb up there and hard wire the bastard myself....
Oh sorry! That's called ADSL - YOU MORONS!!!!
