Dear visitor,
Since its inception Vodafail.com has made a significant
contribution towards raising awareness of the problems and issues faced
by Vodafone customers.
Vodafone Australia customers have had the opportunity to voice their concerns, their fears and their troubles from every corner of Australia and beyond our borders.
You have gathered the courage to stand up for your rights as consumers and to make your voice heard.
Each and every person who shared their story should have a sense of pride in this achievement and the changes that have occurred since the start of Vodafail.com.
More recently, traffic to Vodafail.com has declined significantly.
Having achieved the goal of raising awareness and promoting concrete action in early 2011, we have now reached the point of closing Vodafail to new complaints.
The site will remain online for as long as possible as a
reminder and an example of what is possible when we share our experiences.
It has been a privilege to run this initiative
and I'm am forever grateful for the help and support I've received. In
particular I would like to thank Melissa, David and Travis for their
continued efforts over the past 15 months. I'm also thankful and humbled by the support of ACCAN, Choice magazine and a wide range of media outlets, blogs and websites.
You can still browse existing stories and find out how to file a complaint if you are experiencing problems.
Until next time,
Adam Brimo

Where to start?
First they quote me a international data usage rate that is 100 times (not exaggerating) more than the data rate actually applied. Spent two weeks complaining to their call centre that there is a difference between 0.008c and $0.008 per kilobyte.
Went through the ombudsman and Vodafone finally reluctantly agreed that they made a mistake. I stated that after all the time wasted I wanted to cancel my contract without penalty. Was left a message to call them about this additional request and provided a number to one of their customer resolution team members. Every day for the last 2 weeks I call that number and am advised that this so called Sarah is on the phone. In total I have left 4 voicemails and 10 text messages. Have even gone through the pain of dealing with the call centre just so they can send an email to Sarah to call me... still nothing...vodafone sucks

19429 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is unlocking the mobile at 14 Sep 2011 01:36:04 PM
i just want to unlock my old phone,
*first i call voda and they said there is no one there in authority to give me the code and to do it online.
*i went online and typed in the imei number from the phone and a message saying "imei not found"
*i sent a message to voda (as it gave me the option) so they can investigate why that is etc.
*they sms'd me after 3weeks waiting saying to go online to voda website to unlock the phone
Here you are everyone, this just shows exactly what they do with problems. they dont read our situations, complaints etc. just send any template responses that is not relevant to the situation and hope you go away.
this phone is going straight to the rubbish bin!!

19425 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Shouldn't even be allowed to conduct business in Oz at 13 Sep 2011 07:58:52 PM
So i called vodafone to ask some questions about my bill...and we all know they have the "call back" feature...whereby instead of holding on to the phone while being placed on hold, they'll call you back when your call is ready to be taken...nifty idea i thought.....well it would have been if it was used properly!
So i decided to use this option, and was told by the bloody annoying automated message i'll get a call back in 2-5minutes.
So i receive a call back after 2 minutes, "good start" i thought to myself. WRONG. I have been on hold for the past 26 minutes, and still going!
FIX UP YOUR SH*T YOU MORONS!

19422 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is super fail at 13 Sep 2011 02:22:06 PM
very very poor reception, 3G always drop out. And for your information, I'm located in Sydney CBD.
19417 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Total Fail at 12 Sep 2011 02:05:20 PM
Been hearing for sometime that Vodafone are fixing everything and it's all going to be great. Yet walking through the CBD in Australia's largest city, I can't make a phone call...
Pitt St, Sydney, is not exactly the Outback now is it Vodafone?
Ironically I was only making the call as 3G data was so slow I couldn't look up what I needed - yeah, Google searches are really taxing on the network.
Anyway, it seemed easier to phone a friend for the info, but Vodafone had me beaten there too.
Bring on contract expiry.

15 Sep 2011 12:25:45 PM: Contact the TIO, its so easy, just google them and enact a complaint online. I did this last week because of the same problems as you (I had 18 mths remaining on a 24 mth contract) and just yesterday, Vodaphone agreed to release me from my contract so i can port my phone number elsewhere without penalty fees. All i have to do is return my phone (which was crap anyway, so I'm more than happy to do that- and it was free so I havent lost any money)
Consumer power can work. make sure you contact Vodaphone first with your complaint- be polite in your emails to them- outline what the problem is/your disappointment with the service etc. If they fail to respond adequately within a week, then contact the TIO and enact a complaint. I am very happy with my outcome :)

19416 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is can't find any worse at 12 Sep 2011 01:50:19 PM
I signed up a two years contract with vodaphone, it's a $59/month cap plan. The sales person told me that I have $350 credit each month to use, and I asked him if that includes international calls, he said 'Yes' and saying it's about $1/minute. My first month bill turned out to be over $170 because of extra international calls not covered in the plan while I was having almost $300 reminding in my credit. It's bullshit! I went to the store, and a different sale person saying the international call is not included, and ask me to check with customer service. Another time is when I went overseas and sent one email via my iPhone to Australia, and they charged me $83 for that message and wouldn't explain to me why it costs that much. The reception is the worst mobile reception I ever experienced, my company located very close to sydney CBD, and many times I don't even have one bar of signal, and whoever I called get cut off within 30 seconds. The customer service is confusing and not professional neither. I called this month to finally terminate my two years contract, and they kept asking me if I want a new plan or transfer my loyalty to my friends, and why I don't want to continue my contract. The reception was so bad I cann't even hear her voice properly on the phone, it was quite ironic! I was very upset and became quite angry, I said to her ' I don't want your new plan or any other services, I just glad this one is finished and I don't want to continue because I don't like your services at all.' I just so happy now that my contract is finally over, and I don't need to deal with Vadaphone ever again, the worst company ever!!!!!
19411 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Best Coverage ever at 11 Sep 2011 07:58:30 AM
I live in ryde Sydney and I now have full coverage and the Internet speed is cracking.. I also got onto a 2gb plan for only $10.
11 Sep 2011 04:30:16 PM: How much did Vodafone pay you to spam a 'complaints' page. Loser!
11 Sep 2011 09:40:06 PM: Walk down the road and tell us how good the coverage is haha, from "cracking" to nothing.
11 Sep 2011 10:53:25 PM: $10 aye, sounds like the employees discount!
13 Sep 2011 08:18:13 PM: acctually 2gb mobile broadband with vodafone is $10 go check out there page
14 Sep 2011 06:26:31 AM: Reading some of the replies it's funny how some people always look at the bad side of everything and put down everyone and anyone. I wonder if if they have any love for anything or do they sit at home without love. So I will say I love VODAFONE and I'm on a great mobile deal. I'll say it again $10 for 2gb data, now that's cracking : )
19406 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is NO Reception at 10 Sep 2011 02:15:42 PM
Today 10th September 2011...I have had NO reception since Wednesday 7th September 2011. 3 DAYS!!! I can not get a reasonable answer from Customer Call Centre (Mumbai) I can not access my Vodafone account via Internet because for some reason my sign-in details won't work. WHY is it sooo difficult to get a straight answer??
If I have a power outage, I simply ring the supplier and can receive an answer straight away. Can Vodafone do that?? NO WAY!!
PLEASE explain this problem. I live in Ballina NSW postcode 2478. Other areas around here eg: Lismore, Casino all have "normal" reception.

12 Sep 2011 10:02:49 AM: I live in Newrybar (postcode 2479), not far from Ballina and for the last 10 days have been experiencing similar issues to you. I have a Vodafone moblie broadband connection that is averaging download speeds of 0.10- 0.20Mbps or no connection at all. Interestingly most speed tests I have conducted over the last week show that my upload speed is on average 3-4 times faster than the download speeds (my last speed test shows download 0.14Mbps and upload 0.63Mbps. I should point out that I can see the tower from my house and have had great coverage at full signal strength for the last 2 years, so I know something is not working properly. I have spent over 3 hours on the phone to Vodafone over the last week, testing and trouble shooting. My complaint was passed to Network Services who rang me Friday to advise that it was due to a software upgrade to the towers and that my speeds should increase and return to normal over 7 days. 3 Days later there is NO improvement to the speeds. So I call Vodafone again today and tell them the same, only to be told that all that can be done is for them to pass my complaint to Network services!!!! It's already been there and all they did was fob me off with the network software update BS. Lucky for me, I am out of contract with them so I am free to leave.

The last voicemail notification I received was the 10th of May 2011
Since then I have no idea if any of my clients or work colleagues have left VM messages, hindering my day to day work activities. Rang 1217 to re-activate this function. Tested it.... vodaFAIL. Everyone I know on facebook is announcing their leaving vodafail. May have to do the same.

we have been with vodafail for 10 yrs with 4 contracts at present, in the last few yrs our coverage had deterioated so much so that we have to make and recieve 80% of our calls and txts outside.I have spent hrs on the ph to numerous and very nice customer service reps in Mumbai with no solution to our problems. They have offered my all sorts of discounts but dont seem to understand "its not about the money" it about being able to use our mobiles in the house. I have now taken action with the TIO ombudsman and am now awaiting a call from Vodafail.Wish me luck !

Luckily enough this problem hasn't caused me any big issues, but I paid for something that I never received.
I had gone on a contract last year in September, unlimited calls to ANYONE in Australia, and unlimited pxt and sms. I had asked extensively about unlimited calls to anyone because it sounded too good to be true, but for $80 a month i figured it was worth it. The guys at the store had convinced me that I could call anyone, and I changed from my optus account to Vodafone.
I recently went onto the vodafone website to check up on some details and found that I only have unlimited calls available to vodafone and 3.
Called customer service and he confirmed that, as well as saying that there was no unlimited deals like that available in september, only in december.
I'll be taking this further...

So I texted 1512 a couple of weeks ago to check my data and it said I had 487MB left, then I called 1555 on Tuesday to check over the phone, and Lara said I had 900MB left (my cap hasn't overturned yet)then I texted 1512 again immediately after and it said I have 487MB of data left. I'm just not using my internet until my cap refreshes.
9 Sep 2011 11:15:17 AM: oh and pretty much all my internet usage is facebook anyway, which is apparently free!!
19396 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is monumental fail at 9 Sep 2011 11:03:47 AM
i got lured over from 3 to vodafone after they advertised an unlimited cap over the phone. i switched over and three weeks later had my phone blocked by voda because apparently i exceeded spend that was not included in my cap. I was $300 over even though I was advertised and repeatedly told that i was on an UNLIMITED cap. the staff were extremely inconsiderate and i had to talk to three separate people to get an understanding - before I had to pay it all out plus un unlocking fee so i could call, text, and use the internet. lets see how i go through the next 23 months with a voda contract..

Hardly ever get good reception. I dont think i have made or received a phone call that doesnt cut out, and i have to call the person back. The hardest to deal with is my buisness. My mobile is my buisness line, and because of the disguisting shocking reception, there are many times customers have not been able to get in contact with me. I have lost customers because they have accussed me of being rude and hanging up on them. They dont understand that i am having reception problems. My husband is with telstra and he never has a problem. Where i get 1 bar of reception he will most likely have 4 or more bars. There are a few areas around where we live where my husband will get only 1 bar, but my phone goes off line, shows no reception. This is very frustrating and upsetting. I need good reception in order to run a successful buisness, and voda phone is hurting me, costing me time and money...Please help me!
9 Sep 2011 08:43:37 AM: We'd recommend that you follow the steps on the 'how to complain' page. First talk to Vodafone about the problems and think about how you'd like the problem solved. Vodafone is upgrading their network but if it's not helping you then you might want to get out of your contract and move somewhere else. If Vodafone doesn't want to help with that then you can make a complaint with the TIO and Vodafone start listening.

Ive had 2 days with no service despite driving thru 4 different postcodes. Yesterday customer service said I would be contacted within 4-6hrs, my problem was "urgent", their words!Today they have tried to call me but because my reception is so bad the calls have dropped out the minute I answer. I keep saying I will call them and unlock my phone and escape. But I just dont want to devote an hour of my life to a phone call with "Lara". I do however continue to spend unlimited time calling them to complain about no service??? I cant get angry at them anymore because all the smart people have moved tp optus or telstra, and Im still here. Not for much longer. Im finding a spare hour this weekend.

Ordered iphone online. System went down and now I have 2 orders. After 9 calls managed to get 1 order cancelled. 17 calls to discover the 2nd order is not arriving within 2-4 working days as promised, before I went on holiday, but 10 workings days later. So its arrived, I'm out of AUS, and I no longer want it. I have a bad feeling about this iphone and getting tied into a contract after so many calls. So arranged to handset delivered back to store. So 2 visits later, the handset still can't be officially given back. The computer lines are down...again...... Hopefull visit #3 tonight will be successful for my poor friend & delivery person. After working at Vodafone I'm shocked at how bad things have got. They need to up the ante very very soon.

I think I've just dodged a bullet. I had arranged to go on their $65 unlimited plan for 24months... new phone arrived.. called the numbers provided for activation and the fun started!!!
First person transferred me to another dept, but I was cutoff..
Called back, was transferred again but this time to someone who told me there is no order in the system (even though I'm holding the new phone), and I would need to talk to another dept.. they then transferred me to the central switchboard!!
After spending 20 mins trying to activate a SIM.. I will be sending it all back and going with anyone else.

Hey guys, I moved from 3 to Vodafone and because 3 is so completely terrible I've actually had fine reception & no dropped calls. Great.
HOWEVER, today I received a $900 bill for the last 3 weeks due to 'data over use' although there has been no change to my use of data.
They claim that the 8 hour data download charges starting while i'm asleep at midnight are my own fault because I didn't shut down my applications. No warning of the overuse, not notification of the phone shut down, i'm not even at the end of the billing cycle & the phone isn't overdue. Surely this isn't okay?

Just received a text message telling me I have spent $580 on usage not covered by my plan, I call them up to ask why I have no notification of this excess usage (1.2gb)and they tell me they have no obligation to tell me when I exceed my data usage.
Yet clearly they do, when it gets up to $580, not $200, not $300, not $400, not even up to $500, they waited till $580.
They tell me that they can now set alerts that will tell me when I am spending alot on my usage and I ask why this isn't a standard setting that EVERYONE would want, apparently they did use to send messages informing people of their usage, but apparently people complained so they stopped???
Anybody else been in this situation, do I have room for dispute being I never agreed to stop receiving these alerts ?

5 Sep 2011 08:31:26 PM: Yea you are able to dispute it as you weren't aware that you wouldn't receive a warning SMS when you came close to going over your limit. If Vodafone isn't going to sort it out then you can go to the TIO and they will force Vodafone to take it more seriously.

I have recently mved from 3 to vodafone on the grounds of emails bein sent to me that vodafone and 3 have amalgamated. I have since had bills more than $500 every month. All vodafone says is that I have been using DATA. I have been with 3 for almost 6 years now and had no issues with data usage. I don't download anything on my phone. This is not right that I have to pay for something which I have not used. Now they have diconnected my service.

My sisters old mobile phone, a Nokia 6300, around 3 years old.
I went to the vodafone website to get the unlock pin so i can sell it on ebay.
My sister must have had like $1000 of recharge credits over her use of the phone and yet vodafone wants us to pay $25 to get a unlock key number code.
Optus on the other hand use to be (prob still is), once you recharge a certain amount, your able to get the phone unlocked for free, but here after 3yrs still not good enough.
Looks like rubbish time for the phone, such a waste as it still works great.
My other phone, i typed in the IMEI number and this message comes up: "Handset Unlock - Handset IMEI Not Found"
So 1 handset cant be found in their system, the other needs a $25fee which is more then the phone is worth.
Here come the question, WHAT IS LEGALLY YOURS!! you've paid for it over its life span and yet you cant own it fully unless you again pay them bastards.

How hopeless can Vodafail be!
Took the speed issues to the TIO, Vodafail didn't get in contact until the last day (10th working day), was told nothing that they could do until 850 MHz is installed in my area however Vodafail has no plans to install it. I agreed that they give me some data as compensation however Vodafail failed to add it to my account.
Vodafail, you just lost another customer and will unlikely gain any more since I'll be telling those who are thinking to switch not to pick Vodafail.

Working one day, fail the next. Pay for something you can't use and just abuse. Troubleshoot something that's not the problem and tell you the network is overloaded with upgrades and yet still attempt to add more customers. Does not take a maths genius to do some simple mathematics formula. 1 IN + 1 OUT = 0???

Vodafone have been having problems for a while now. People need to stop doing business with Vodafone, stop renewing your contracts, and hopefully they'll close their doors.

The problems I have been experiencing are, but not limited to,the following: Zero reception in areas where I usually receive full reception; Unable to make calls when I have full reception; Calls dropping out; People on the other end of the line not being able to hear me until I physically move positions (happens numerous times during phone calls); Internet only works 1 in every 5 attempts or thereabouts and when it does work it is extremely slow; People are unable to call me (it says the line is busy) when I am not on the phone and I have full reception. Furthermore, I cant even get through to Vodafone's Customer Support and Complaint Centres via my Mobile (It won't let me make the call let alone wait in queue).

UPGRADE YOUR PHONE PLANS, NOT DOWNGRADE' with an arrogant manner. After hearing
the story of my friend, he blushed and ticked over 'sorry under certain conditions we may allow customer to downgrade, but you need to sign a new plan
with us and there may be some surcharge...' BULLLLLLSHIIIIIIIIT! WHAT A FAIL!!

15 Sep 2011 02:31:28 AM: The iPhone is free on a $79cap, but $10 extra on a $59cap. Therefore you cannot downgrade your plan (as this would result in you paying nothing for the iPhone on a cap which generally has an installment cost). Only in an instance where the installment pricing is the same on the downgraded plan, may you do so.
Sorry mate, you aren't above company policy and basic logic. Get over it.

19342 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is SMS Reply to Customer Survey at 2 Sep 2011 11:58:22 AM
I called Vodafone Support yesterday to report the issue with failed SMS sending and network dropouts. They gave me 25% disc for 3 mths instead. Then today,I received a Customer Survey SMS from Vodafone. My phone then has a network dropout and I am not able to send my reply as SMS delivery is now failing. I'm taking a picture of this for prosperity. :)

I mean F*ck Nigel! I haven't even written a letter to you yet but already your statements from previous dissatisfied customers piss me off. I'm new to your country from Canada, and I must say I heard a lot better things from my mates about your company than I seen first hand! What gives?!
I signed up to a new phone from some asshole who kept calling me when I had prepaid cards, now my third $29 cap plan, which I hardly use just billed me for $220 of data plan that I didn't even use. In turn I tried to speak with customer service to discuss these charges and was forced to speak with two Vodafone representatives, either spoke english well enough to understand that Vodafone was in the wrong for these charges! They said the best they could do was give me $40 credit on my next bill. Not good enough!! The first rep said they were a customer service supervisor, the second apparently was a account manager supervisor. On principal alone I will cancel my contract and go elsewhere if my $220 bill is not reversed. They have since put me on a 72 hour wait for a customer service representative with more authority (hopefully speaks english) to respond, probably while I'm eating dinner again. I hope Vodafone makes the correct decision during the next phone discussion. Oh, the first calls were recorded for training purposes, which I didn't fully understand. I would love to hear that conversation again , you would hear me repeatedly stating I can not understand what information you are trying to give me. What a laugh!

I can't make phone calls, because there is no service!!! I have been trying to make a phone call for the past hour and it is not connecting. It really isn't worth the discount that vodafone gives its customer. I have been struggling to make calls all day, my phone keeps cutting out when i finally get through. I believe that Vodafone is not upholding their end of my contract agreement therefore, making it invalid. They have not provided me a service, so i really shouldn't pay a cent!!!

I signed up to a Vodafail Infinite $45 plan in March, with the expectation that I'd be able to cancel my Telstra landline as I'd no longer need it. How wrong I was. I'm now locked in to a 24 month contract with a phone I can't even use as I intended- to make ALL my calls on. Constant drop-outs, disconnection, "network busy" messages, SMS that take me up to 10 attempts to get through...it will often say "message fail". I'm a single mum of 3 trying to make ends meet, studying full time, on minimal income. I can't afford to sign up to another telco whilst still paying for this contract, nor can I afford to pay out this contract. I contacted them on 1555 and was told that coverage was supposedly high in my area. Was told they'd look into it. Nobody contacted me back to let me know what the outcome was. I've sent them an email, and if they don;t respond promptly, I will be contacting the TIO and will attempt to be released from my contract. Hopefully the end result is positive...however, based on my countless experiences of people on here, the odds are stacked against me :-(

Vodafail released me from the remianing 18 months of my contract as of yesterday, with NO EXIT FEES and I am free to port my number back to Optus, woo hoo! Consumer power wins the day! thank you Vodafail, coming here really pushed me to fight for this, and I won! I should add that it pays to be polite, and to intelligently outline your complaint and the resolution you are seeking (in my case, rescinding of my contract without penalty) I also mentioned in my complaint that i feel that Vodaphone misrepresented themselves when i signed up, because if they'd been honest about the poor coverage i would never have signed the dotted line. That seemed to be the key to my success I believe. Going off at them will guarantee that you achieve little if any of your aims. they are now sending me a reply-paid bag to return my phone in, and I'm off to sign up with optus and get my free Samsung galaxy II! Thanks again guys!

Im paying for his shit curry dinner he has every night and the way in which he talks to me is a joke.
Anyway, i didnt get the code as "he didnt have the authority to give it to me"
i asked to talk to the person with authority, he said there is no person here to help you, go to the 3mobile website and look at how to unlock the phone. (its just a pdf saying how to enter a code and press enter) how stupid do they think we are, seriously!!

Offered me a change of plan, the little indian bastard then said that by doing htis as I had an unsual spend on the interenet that it would wipe the slate clean with that bill. After re-itterating 5 times that my bill would be normal if i swap over which was answered yes, then recieve a bill for 690 dollarsm i then call the office and they basically tell me I am lying and in no way are going to help.
1 Sep 2011 12:04:10 PM: Definitely contact the TIO, I had the same thing happen with Telstra a few years ago. As soon as Telstra was contacted by the TIO, they wiped my bill for me. When the TIO gets involved, the complaint is immediately escalated to way higher up, it goes to the telco headquarters. I was contacted by someone from Telstra immediately after they were contacted by the TIO. Apparently, it costs the telco's quite a bit to have the TIO escalate an unresolved complaint (at least a few thousand dollars) so it is generally in their best interests to just wipe the slate and give you what you want.
Good luck with it, I am going through my own bullshit with Vodafail, so I feel your pain!

19307 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Disgusting at 31 Aug 2011 10:19:28 AM
I have been overseas and disabled my iPhone's 3G and Internet Capabilities altogether. 7th day into my 9 day holiday I get a message in a nutshell saying the following "You have $350.00 outstanding from your account" - I call vodafone straight away. They tell me that it may be a phone or a billing issue due to data usage (excessive), they need to investigate it. They promised to call me back. I arrive in Sydney, and the next day my phone gets barred and I can not call my employer and tell him that I have been delayed for work. We lost $4000 that morning. It gets better. I call vodafone that night and they tell me that they can not do anything until their team in sydney starts work at 8am. I call again at 8.30am. Have to explain my story all over again, then get redirected to their sydney team to get an error "Sorry we operate 9am-8pm" instead of going back to the guy who I just spoke to it hang up. I called again at 9.30 5 times until I finally got through (My phone dropped connectivity because of the infamous vodafone "service"). Then the guy tells me the following, my iPhone accumulated $390 worth of data roaming. Because it downloaded and uploaded 30Mb of data in total, I can see that you have launched a dispute and think that this is false. Unfortunately we can not disbar your phone until you pay that sum (even though its not due for an other month) (In case you are wondering New Zealand charges it prepaid customers 50c a Mb rate - thats the highest - Vodafone is charging me $10/Mb< for services that I did not use + Dissabled my number and calling until I did so). The problem is on their side and I end up paying for it. Before I could reply the phone call was dropped. I want out of my contract, you can have the phone and I am going to Tesltra. I am having dropped calls and I can not use internet if I am traveling faster than an average butterfly. Sure people tell me that their customer service is not as good but the best customer service not having to ring "customer service" in the first place. I am getting in contact with Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman and speaking with vodafone personally
31 Aug 2011 06:05:12 PM: If you want great customer service and cheap call rates I suggest Amaysim. I have even convinced my partner now to sign up with them after her troubles with Vodafail for being overcharged on data she did not use.

Why cant all phone companies use the one set of antennas, just rent it from the owner (how ever it would work), why must every building in Sydney have the ugly antennas on the roof just about.

19297 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Self explanatory at 29 Aug 2011 10:48:42 PM
I used to work for Vodafone, and hated it! Not initially because of the company itself, but because of the call centre-which is now Vodafone's fault for lack of training and informing staff exactly which department does what so that they don't toss the customers from one department to the next.
Imagine making 20 of those one call centre phone calls a day and you will understand the pain I along with half the Vodafone staff experienced.
I haven't worked for them for about a year now, but unfortunately I signed myself up to a contract before leaving them. The problem these days is the call centre regardless of any miscommunication have absolutely no authority to do something within their department. There is no one to speak to any more who can resolve any issue!
I can go on and on about my mobile broadband issues and being charged per month when it has been in repairs for 6 weeks, Or how about staying on the phone for hours being thrown around like a rag doll from customer service department to collections team to be hung up on as soon as I ask for Loyalties and Retention (apparently now called 'Cancellation team') which is the only department that jumped to fix the wrongly applied barring to my phone which cost me days of important business calls and emails (I upgraded from Vodafone Rep to an Advertising agency) and should really be with Telstra, even though there service is equally poor, at least we won't get any dropped calls.
Anyway, I will not bore you with my pain story, I'm sure others have covered every problem. However Vodafone CEO if your reading this, you can say goodbye to your pretty penny because I can guarantee you that your business is already down the drain, the only income you will receive from here on in will be the left over contracts, which if like mine will end within this year and I will disappear from your pathetic Siebel software which gave away customers details.
P.S your company is not shit because of the slow service or dropped calls every now and again, because people don't care - nothing is perfect, it's shit because your to busy sitting on your yacht enjoying your passion fruit mojito to notice your untrained staff are failing to meet each customers expectations-and that is an understatement!

30 Aug 2011 09:21:59 AM: remember no matter how shit they are if they go we all lose because the other 2 will put the price UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
1 Sep 2011 11:08:41 AM: Their obviously not saying they should get rid of Vodafone, their just upset about things that can be easily fixed if Voda wasn't so ignorant to the small things that matter. I completely agree with this post 100%

Corporate Plan with 11 handsets. You try explaining to one of your potential customers why your call dropped out 5 times. Ohh sorry, we're with shitty service provider Vodafone. Don't know what's worse.... 1. On Contract with Vodafone or 2. telling our customers how bad Vodafone are. Either way, it's a disgrace and we are looking to terminate our contract.
29 Aug 2011 08:04:10 AM: being with vodafone can seriously damage your company's reputation in the marketplace. Clients see you as a cheap-skate, cutting corners. Ooh, these guys use Vodafone, wonder where else they cut corners and penny-pinch.... Just a thought.

Live in Wollongong, have a Blackberry on a month to month basis with Vodafail, everything working well(at least I had 3G functionality intermittently) until last Wednesday when all services dropped out without explanation. Yesterday I received a text message from Vodafone to let me know that a network upgrade was being made text was two days late and arrived after the upgrade was made.
Still having no service after the alleged network upgrade was done, I contacted customer service and after two hours of speaking with a very polite Indian gentleman, and going through the motions of trying to convince me that my Blackberry was faulty (its not I've been through this before with them) he went on to inform me that after checking the signal coverage of my area, it appears that the upgrades to the network have resulted in DOWNGRADE of services available in my area???? WTF?
After five call dropouts during our conversation, the final suggestion was for me to find a neighbour and use their phone should any emergency arise, as Vodafone could not guarantee an uninterupted service from this point onwards.
Thank you Vodafone your alleged $1bn upgrades in your network have resulted in even less coverage in the 3rd largest city in the most populous state in the Country.

27 Aug 2011 04:32:17 PM: Mate, if your on the month to month, leave them. You dont have a contract to worry about. The reception your having now (no reception) is what i get 24/7 here in Shellharbour. I rang vodafone to complain 3 weeks ago about reception, they were meant to call me back within 5days and nothing. Ive been too busy with uni to follow up on the complaint, and when the man was giving me the complaint number he hung up on me. So now when i call they will say, "you never rang before, its not on the system" etc ... back to square 1

I moved my old phone number over to Vodafone in late May this year onto a 45$ plan. I left for work to China in June. I was told by the vodafone people to set up ebill which was confirmed on July 12th ( by them by email). I did not receive any invoice. In August I rang and asked why and was simply told I have 168.34$ to pay and the statement is on its way ( payed strait away by master card) now just a week or so later I receive an eBill ( the first ever) telling me to pay 1228,64$ and no details given other then the last 3 month with the normal 45$ or so monthly and over 1000$ for August. I ring their help line and get connected to an indian call centre where I get told that I have been disconnected because I did not pay the bill on time! And they are not willing to reconnect the phone till it is payed the whole amount ( I have to pay the remaining contract now) and then I have to do a direct debit from my bank to reconnect the same number! Take it or else... I have set up the right way according to their people before I left and was told I will get the bills online and all I have to do is pay when I get them... only got one statement since I signed up with Vodafone the final! Can they demand a direct debit?
19277 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is beyond belief fail at 27 Aug 2011 09:37:29 AM
Due to crappy coverage (I live in inner sydney and don't get coverage inside my own house) I decided to sign up with another carrier. However my iPhone is locked to the Vodafone network. I call Vodafone, they direct me to the online form to unlock, which doesnt work as it does not recognise my phone's IMEI number. The website says the issue will be handled by their phone unlock team and I will get a response in 4 business days. A week goes by, no one contacts me, I call again. They say they will escalate and someone will call me within two business days. Three days go by, no one contacts me. I call again, they ring Apple and confirm that the phone was in fact made for Vodafone but can't unlock for me on the spot and say that they will have it fixed within 48 hours and I should just go back to the website to unlock it. I wait two days, try it again this morning, no it doesn't work. Call Vodafone, they say it has been referred to the unlock phone team and they have 5 business days to get back to me. I asked to speak to a supervisor as this is getting ridiculous - supervisors are too busy and they have offered to call me back in one hour. Has anyone else found it this difficult to get their phone unlocked from the network?? It is an iPhone 3GS and I have had it for over two years, so the contract is up and it just seems to be a matter of Vodafone sorting out their IMEI numbers. In the meantime, I foolishly had signed a contract with the new provider and will now be paying two phone companies until this is sorted! Any tips or advice gratefully appreciated.
1 Sep 2011 09:53:11 PM: iPhones don't require and NEP plug the device into iTunes and restore the software. This process will unlock the handset. If it doesn't work the first time you need to repeat the process in 48 hours. All iPhones are unlocked this way no matter the carrier

I suggested that my daughter gets a new 850mhz pocket wifi for her new netbook, only for the thing to be slower than a snail, she only got it this week so Im suggesting she cancels her contract and return the modem to Vodafone. Shes in the city centre too, just hope then dont try to give her the "you on contract bullshit". I have to take some blame too, like all good daughters they listen to thier fathers. Never Vodafone again, you pay what you get, so pay more and get the service.
26 Aug 2011 12:24:54 PM: You're an idiot vodafone offer a 30day satisfaction guarantee where you can cancel your Mobile Boardband for free if you get poor coverage WHICH NO OTHER COMPANY OFFERS!!!
26 Aug 2011 12:39:50 PM: thanks pal.. would probably make more sense if Vodafone just kept their promise to customers and had a service that actually worked instead of mucking customers around again and again.
27 Aug 2011 12:18:12 PM: Satisfaction guarantee? That's a new one, let's hope it's true. If not I'm sure you will be able to get out of the plan without a cancellation fee once speaking to customer support (or through the TIO if it fails). It might be a bit of time on the phone but it's worth it in the long run.

Here is a new one. Vodafone Broadway have adopted a new strategy....Immediately upon being asked to escalate the matter to a manger the Broadway Vodafone staff inform you that they will not escalate the matter and then to save their own skin -- they "get in first" and make a complaint about the customer. Utter lies.
Has anyone else had experience with this tactic? My thoughts are that i demand the untruthful allegations are withdrawn or i cancel my contract. Thoughts?

19248 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Hopeless Broadband, shocking support service at 24 Aug 2011 01:42:56 PM
I use Vodafone broadband but every few weeks it drops out and is almost impossible to access, sometime for days at a time (eg I've been unable to access Vodafone on just about every day for the last 10 days). If you call the Vodafone help desk they fob you off by suggesting it's a problem with your computer rather than a network problem (even when the media has said that there's problems with the Vodafone network). If they have network problems and tell me then I can live with that if they can let me know when they hope to fix it by. But when they aren't open and honest and waste your time it makes me angry. I do not trust this company.

I have to wait until June 2012 for an antenna to be installed near my house for coverage. What do i do in the mean time? Keep paying my $55p/m for limited phone usage if at all?
The Australian government should step in and do something. Look after your own people.
Also i have 3 wireless internet. 3 is converting to vodafone. In the past week i have had troubles opening sites and pictures on websites (archidaily) dont load at all.
Im lucky im on the month to month payment and no contract. Optus, here i come!!

at least you know then, if you dont like the service, reception etc, there is a $0 cancellation fee and you can budget your income every month rather then allowing an extra +$100 for the phone bill.
Also, a 3hr delay for a sms for me to pick up my mother from the train station on Friday, she was forced to go by taxi home :(

Hi,
We have been migrated from Three to Vodafone. When we switched we were committed 1GB of Data Plan on Infinite $ 45 Cap. After switchover, found that only 500MB data was allowed. Then after several calls, it was then rectified. We were told that 750MB plan has been included as a free of cost. But later found it was charged to us.Again calls were made to vodafone and thought it was fixed but in vain. Recently we upgraded handset on $ 45 infinite plan, and without confirming we were charged $ 480.00 for Handset upfront and also credit which should be applied to our account as per telephonic discussion, were not done. Still we are calling VODAFONE..FAIL) everyday and problem persists.

Hi,
I have tried calling your help center but they don't even understand what I am saying! This is most frustrating.
I have been with Vodafone since my very first mobile when I was 15 - a decade ago. Always been a loyal customer. However, my current experience with you has been very poor. The internet is so slow that my Facebook app doesn't work at all! And browsing takes excruciatingly and unreasonably long. I cannot even use the internet. All that my blackberry can do is email.
I want to exit this contract until you fix your internet. I heard that you are making in-roads - that's great - but until it's fixed I don't want to pay for a service which Vodafone is not providing.
I am hoping Vodafone will do the right thing and release me from mt contract so I can finally use my internet. I am happy to return to you once you fixed your problems. But please don't make me stay as that will just turn me off your brand forever.
I am truly hoping this can be resolved and eargerly looking foreward to your help!
Kind Regards
Kristina

A $79 capped post-paid plan (including iPhone) which commenced Feb 2010. Bills were coming in $600+ - duplicated calls, my mobile number calling itself, duplicated SMS charges, web access that didn't seem to disconnect itself. My calls to customer service - (i) unanswered, (ii) on hold for ages and ages or (iii) promises that a supervisor would call me back. I've never heard back. I desperately want to get out of my plan, and I believe others have done so but without the billing disputes finalised, I am stuck in a loop. I now have a pre-paid plan with another carrier but I'm being threatened with legal advice on the "undisputed" billing amount, which I can't identify.

I signed up sadly 5weeks ago not knowing the joke of a service i would get.
I have reception in 2 rooms of my house and thats just one bar and not clear signal when i talk.
I sms my friend literally 3 houses up from me and they dont get the message for 40minutes,
when i want to call someone, i wait upto 1minute for the call connection before it rings,
i called customer service and i invited them to come to my house and experience what i am getting, they said "we have no technicians in your area" and they would do a reception check on the website......of course the website is made to make them look perfect with great coverage
Their 3G is non existent in my area, and when i get it (while in Sydney), their net is soo slow
I have been late to uni presentations numerous times from not receiving (backup) wake up calls from a mate.
Other friends ask me why is my phone turned off all the time, (it never is)
all this after 5weeks.
ill be crying for the next 23months :(

16 Aug 2011 04:50:41 PM: It's not to late actually. File a complaint with Vodafone and tell them that this isn't what you signed up for. Make a note of all the problems and if they still don't let you out (without forcing you to pay) then you can go to the TIO.
Goodluck!
