You have gathered the courage to stand up for your rights as consumers and to make your voice heard.
Each and every person who shared their story should have a sense of pride in this achievement and the changes that have occurred since the start of Vodafail.com.
More recently, traffic to Vodafail.com has declined significantly.
Having achieved the goal of raising awareness and promoting concrete action in early 2011, we have now reached the point of closing Vodafail to new complaints.
The site will remain online for as long as possible as a
reminder and an example of what is possible when we share our experiences.
It has been a privilege to run this initiative
and I'm am forever grateful for the help and support I've received. In
particular I would like to thank Melissa, David and Travis for their
continued efforts over the past 15 months. I'm also thankful and humbled by the support of ACCAN, Choice magazine and a wide range of media outlets, blogs and websites.

My reception is very poor. I have to go outside my house and move around the yard to use my phone, even then it my drop out. I have tried many other phones and they all do the same. If you use another provider the phone can be used inside the house no worries with out drop out.

Call centre didn't know what a 'Tax invoice' was and then the pin I've had on my account for the last two years 'isn't the pin I have on my screen'. As usual, I just give up because it's all too hard...maybe I'll try again tomorrow.

I get poor or no reception whenever am home. Over the weekend, I didn't have any reception at all. It sucks*#@! because sometimes my partner would work night shift and one time he was calling me for an some emergency and he was not able to contact me at all!!! What if it was a matter of life and death???

i wasa prepaid customer until i decided to get a plan with vodafone then the next day its all over the news about the failing of voda fone and its customers now i get no reception for hrs then my text messages back up and dont come thru for days then i get connection errors all the time and this is brand new fone...their service is crap and have u palmed off to so many different sections when u calli have to carry a spare fone around just to have recpton when i go away cause voda fone fail me and when i ring and ask how they going to repair all this mess oh we are updating our towers they have been telling my mum this for the last 2 years im so fed up

I joined up with Vodafone last April and have had some issues with delayed voicemail,intermittently. No missed called alert,just a delayed voicemail either hours or sometimes days late.
2 weeks ago, I had a bigger issue. I suddenly had no reception in my house...for 3 days. I could send and receive text messages, though they were delayed and some never arrived, but could no make or receive calls. At this time I tried all the customer service numbers, but as soon as I indicated that I was having technical difficulties or wished to make a complaint, the call was disconnected. This lack of customer service compounded the problem for me,in a huge way. I went into my local Vodafone store and was told,in the nicest possible way, that they could do nothing.
I work in the emergency services and need to be contactable at all times. I don't have a landline as I work shifts and its just easier if I can be contacted on a single number. I missed several calls for overtime that resulted in me losing a lot of money. So not only was I not receiving the service I was paying for, but the company has cost me a lot in missed earnings.
When I could finally get through to the service department and was told that my problem would be looked into.By this time my phone was working inside again, so of course they found there was no problem.
Yesterday, the same thing happened and when I called the technical department (on someone elses phone so it wasn't a free call) I was told to switch over to the 2G network. This seemed to fix the problem, but I'm not really satisfied as I have to keep swapping over when I'm home and if I forget, my phone is out of commission.
All I want is to get out of my contract. I feel that I have upheld my side of the contract by paying my bill, but I am not being provided with the service I'm paying for, so in my opinion Vodafone is in breach of their side of the contract. Of course its not as easy as this, these companies protect themselves with little thought to the lack of service and inconvenience to their customers.

i have been with vodafone for 3 years and just had problem after problem with them. Yesterday at 3pm 26/1/11 all vodafone phones in Bathurst NSW lost all reception. Its now 2.30Pm, 23.5 hrs later and vodafone have just said that there working on it... last night (australia day) i couldnt even call a cab to get home. unexceptable.. and i bet they wont compensate my bill either.

Vodafail did not meet the TIO's deadline to contact me. So now the TIO has escalated my case. Just barely on my 2nd month on a 24 month hell. I want to exit now! Hold on. Maybe Vodafone was trying contact me all along. They were just unable to BECAUSE THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THEIR NETWORK! SUPER FAIL!

Epic fail!!

I have been consistently experiencing poor data service and drop-out of my voice service (sometimes degraded to SOS service) on various locations along the entire section of the Illawarra line from my home in Engadine into the CBD. I wanted to have my Blackberry Storm unlocked so that I can switch to another provider as soon as my contract expires. The Vodafone store manager at Westfield Miranda who was quite rude, arrogant and unfriendly to my wife and I, told us that he cannot do it and I must go online to have it unlocked. He told us the Blackberry and my wife's Samsung phone would be unlocked for free. When I went online, the Vodafone unlocking site tells me I must pay $25. Either the store manager doesn't know his job, or he was lying to get us out of his shop. I dont expect I will get a response to the email, but hey, I have to try. If this is not resolved in the next week or so, I see little alternative but to join the Vodafone class action suit, and hope that will bring about some real change to Vodafones poor network and customer service.

Havent had any reception for past 24hrs, attended local vodafone store to be told that technicians are working on problem but sales guy had no idea of when problem would be fixed. Sales guy said no idea if customers would be compensated in any way, no idea whether vodafone would be able to contact me with enticement to stay with service as contract almost up. He scrawled my details onto a page with about 20 other numbers and names handwritten. He didnt even try to appease me and was more disinterested than anything.

I now have a TIO reference number, and want to pursue the matter with Voda, but of course, I CANT EVEN SPEAK TO A PERSON. It's just a long hold wait, followed by a messaging service to leave your number for a call back.

27 Jan 2011 10:21:11 AM: After you get a TIO reference number, the carrier (vodafone) has 10 working days to contact you. Don't worry about contacting them, as there is nothing they can do for you until their TIO resolutions team look into it. If they have not called you in 10 working days, contact the TIO again with your original reference number and they will make it a level 2 case.

With no coverage at my business (previously reported and for which Vodafone will not do anything), I am now resorting to connecting with some of my customers and suppliers by text using Skype over the internet. I am paying for Vodafail to provide NO service, I am paying for my broadband connection and I am having to pay a small fee to Skype for a service I should have to fuss with. To receive texts, I have to walk 100 metres up the hill for coverage, which I do several times a day to see who's trying to contact me. Calls constantly dropping out but this has become so normal as to be almost commonplace.

Have had bad reception for goodness knows how long. Finally called them last friday and they said give them a week to fix it. I have given them time and at first it appeared as if my reception was improving but it would go from full reception to no recpetion. And now for the last 24 hours i have had no network. I am furious and will be walking into the store today to sort this out, as iam unable to call them due to my phone having no network.

3G drop out while at home. First they tell me it's due to 3G upgrades in the area but I never had a problem before. When I try to get out of the contract they blame it on my iphone and it's not their problem. AARRGHH!!!
27 Jan 2011 08:34:33 AM: Check out the How To Complain link at the top of the page. As you have contacted Vodafone already you should be right to escalate to the TIO (contact details on that page). The TIO will be able to assist you out of your contract. For reference sake the iPhone works perfectly well on other networks (especially the Next G Network as they have 850 frequency towers).

There is currently no reception for Vodafone Customers in Bathurst.... massive fail.

27 Jan 2011 04:43:23 PM: This is a TELSTRA error. A TELSTRA part failed and caused an outage from about 5pm yesterday. TELSTRA had to deliver and install the part. As of 5pm the issue has been fixed and normal service has resumed.

Okay here we go. These guys are total tools. Sign up for a contract, says first 6 months are half price. Yeah cool, right. Get the bill and I am charged at the full rate. Now this is where the fun begins. Spend one hour on hold with that Lara saying "Hang in there, we will be with you soon". How damn Soon Lara??????? Then I call them back in the morning, another 30 minutes on hold before I give up. Then I send them a email. Have they responded? No. Now Im pushing about another 30 minutes on hold. FFS Voda, get it together. Heres Lara saying Hang in there, we will be with you really soon. And they want me to get a Mobile phone of them on Contract as well? Idiots, thats the only words I can use to describe them right now. Absolutely appalling customer service to spend this long on hold when there damn sales lines go straight through.

Vodafone are currently upgrading and enhancing the network to resolve this issue, I can advise that last weekend we did launch our new 850 network in Sydney and surrounding suburbs. We plan to have all new network sites installed and running by the end of March.
I suggest that you do a manual reset by turning off your handset, take the sim card out, wipe the copper part of the sim with your fingers, place back in and then turn your phone back on. This will reconnect you to the network and every so often it is a good idea to clean your sim card. Also while work is being done on the network I recommend that you change the settings on your handset to the 2G network only. This will reduce call drop outs and improve coverage as it will stop the phone switching between the two networks 3G and 2G.
Vodafone endeavour to provide only the best service to our customers and we sincerely regret any inconvenience caused to you as a result of this issue.

We have approximately 30 company phones with VF. We have all experienced repeated call dropouts. Calls dropout when a SMS message comes through. Voicemail can come through imediatly or up to a day later. We have found we have poor service coverage in City areas. There are constant inexplicable signal dropouts. Directory service SMS's don't come through and when you ring back you get 2 messages directly?!!
I am working to move our companies phone service away from VF as the overall service is well below unsatisfactory and we have all grown sick and tired of it...

I was up to date with the problems but believed that they could only "get better". My husband, stepson and I all had Optus contracts finishing. Because of coverage issues at our home all three of us were leaving Optus. The boys went to Telstra - they ported their numbers and their phones were active on the NextG Network before they left the shops (different stores in different suburbs). I signed up (month by month - no ongoing contract, I'm not that silly)at 10:00am on Saturday morning. It is now 10:30pm on WEDNESDAY night and my number has still not ported.

I am a carer for a disabled person, I can never get any reception, phone drops out but worst of all I can not get any reception inside my work building, I never ever had a problem when I was with 3, what if something happens to the person I care for, as they are with Vodaphone as well. I have not even bothered to call Vodaphone to complain, as I dont have the time to sit on the phone for 2 hours or so. What really makes me angry is I specifically asked the consultant from 3 if I would get the same reception and service with Vodaphone as I did with 3 and he insured me that it would be better because of the merge,
quess what he lied. I am just hanging out for my 24 month contract to finish, how come these companies can get away with not holding up there end of the contract.

27 Jan 2011 06:53:42 AM: That's really bad, there is no way you should have to wait 24 months. Check out the how to complain page on this site and fill in the online form for the TIO. They will then have Vodafone contact you and you can ask to get out of your contract.

Yesterday I had a flat battery in my car and it took me nearly 10 minutes to make a call to the NRMA - RIDICULOUS.
When I ring Vodafone, they ask me if I have turned the phone off and on again - this should not be a problem solving step.
When I called them I was told they have to take a couple of day to problem solve the issue.
My gosh.
Oh well..

27 Jan 2011 04:53:43 PM: Less then 24 hour, once in 2 year outage caused by a TELSTRA faulty part. Yes a TELSTRA fault. The part had to be delivered by TELSTRA and didn't arrive until 3pm and the TELSTRA technicians got the network going by around 5pm.

I can't get service in Terrey Hills, Sydney. I have to go outside to get service and it is always "very poor" and drops out frequently which is so annoying especially when trying to pay bills. I cannot wait until Next January when my contract expires and I can find a provider that gives decent coverage and doesn't keep dropping out. The customer service is also abominable and it would be nice to find an agent that knows what is going on instead of being transferred 5 times and have a 2 hour phone call with no results. Lousy, lousy, service!!!!!!

Half my keypad went kaputt. This meant I couldn't dial the number to most people, or complete a comprehensible SMS. After the usual circus with Lara, her friends in the Philippines, and many other symphonies from the Vodafone and Nokia muzak selections, I took an afternoon off work to visit my local Westfield to activate my "extended warranty" at a Voda shop in person.
Instead of any attempt to help when I explained my phone's plight to the young "gentle"men in the booth, I received in return, a barrage of demands, ranging from personal ID, proof of purchase, proof of contract etc.etc...Ultimately, they issued an ultimatum - NO job number (from Lara's telephone hotline) NO repair......"but she didn't give me one...but they kept putting me on hold.....but the overseas operator wasn't authorised to issue any numbers...." I pleaded. They were adamant, and to get me off their backs, they explained that they were "only" a private contractor for Vodafone. They sell their products, but don't deal with their problems. So my only chance is to go to the Voda shop...which strangely exists in the same shopping mall only 50 metres away????
So I repeated the same performance 2 minutes later, and unsurprisingly the same unhelpful responses and denial of responsibility.
Their first response at this shop was not so much an apology for the inconveniences, but more akin to a threat: "This is gonna cost you $100 just for an inspection...."
"But isn't the extended warranty which I have unfailingly paid for the past 22 months..."
"No!" he cuts me off..."You STILL have to pay the excess"...
"Alright then", I replied and started thinking about joining my wife's new iPhone 4 plan from a rival telco. "Since I only have 2 months left, what's the cost of paying out my contract?"
He became elusive, and started typing madly, hunched over his computer as if trying to hide my own details from me. Never offering me a seat, he finally barked, "If you want a new phone, you renew your contract NOW!"
"Can I get an iPhone?" I queried.
"Yeah, but you'll have to wait 8 weeks till we're re-stocked".
"OK...." I politely retorted as I mused at the thought of keeping my gammy phone for another 8 weeks. "...So what are my plan options?"
He then snapped out a series of options, still sitting there like he was the school principal whilst I stood like a naughty customer. Not once did he offer me one of the vast library of brochures, or pen or paper whilst I tried jotting down the costs on the back of a shopping docket.
The most useful outcome from this exchange was knowing that when I got my iPhone on the spot in a neighbouring phone dealer, my new plan was considerably cheaper than any of the Voda options. My penalty for early termination of contract is consoled by the knowledge of never having to listen to that annoying Lara again........My sympathies to all my Voda victims out there, and the woman who actually provides Lara's voice.

26 Jan 2011 02:34:49 PM: Vodafone has never offered an "extended warranty" as an option.
Since January 2010 all phones Vodafone sell come with 12 months manufacturers warranty and another 12 months Vodafone repair warranty, it's automatic, you don't pay extra for it as long as you still have an Vodafone SIM in it it's 24 months.
The only exception is iPhones where you can pay Apple for an extended warranty and Apple will take care of any issues.
Since January 2010 all phones Vodafone sell come with 12 months manufacturers warranty and another 12 months Vodafone repair warranty, it's automatic, you don't pay extra for it as long as you still have an Vodafone SIM in it it's 24 months.
The only exception is iPhones where you can pay Apple for an extended warranty and Apple will take care of any issues.

(I have many notes on my account which prove this and I actually went to the police station in my local area because I was so concerned about my identity being stolen). Bizfone went into my account and barred one of my Vodafone services for no reason 3 times I found this out at a store as every time a dealer logs onto your account leaves their dealer code there.......every time I would call Vodafone customer service all they would do is make me change my password and this won't do anything anyways as the dealer has access to all my details, after continual complaining to Vodafone they finally put me onto the Director of the company and he states that it was an accident.........an accident hacking into my account and barring my service 3 times, how does that work ???? & Vodafone didn't do anything or care at all about this breach of privacy; once my contact is finished I'll never deal with Vodafone again I can really tell that customer privacy is not a priority for then as to the way they handled my complaint. Not only did one of their dealers access my account without my authorization but when I rang up the first time or second time they still didn't care enough to stop it or do anything about it.

If I go back to TIO will I have to wait another 10 days? I'm getting married next week and will be o/s for the following 3 weeks - I really need to resolve this before I go o/s....

You shouldn't have to wait again as the 10 day period is meant to give Vodafone the opportunity to fix the problem themselves. Seeing as they haven't contacted you, just ring the TIO tomorrow for the next steps.

Now it is Australia day and I have nothing again! So over it. I've sent a complaint to Vodafone, but didn't get a reply, Gee why am I surprised?
I have another person in the house with an iPhone 3G, I've got a 4G, the 3G has full network, and I have nothing. Both on Vodafone. I had no coverage for two days over xmas, but full reception bars.

My business relys on communication, phone, text, voice messages and email.
With these services dropping out on a regular basis, I'm losing business and wasting valuable time having to go to the library to get a half decent internet connection. How much time can you waste in Sydney chasing your tail with large companies refusing to take responsibility for poor service.
I have a business to run and I'm paying for a pathetic service.
Thanks for taking my hard earned money Vodafone and providing nothing for it.

I recently got mobile broadband.The plan had 10gb data included.I had logged on to check the usage and it came up as 3 gb data.I contacted the very poor customer service and was told it would be fixed.Called a week later,was told they would call me back (yeah right,wait for it).Called again a couple days and was tolod they could not fix the problem,that they had caused.Anyway got my bill overcharged for the data used over 3gb but under 10gb.Very dissappointed customer.A complete waste of my time.Will be shopping around when my contract expires.

I've been a Vodafone customer for 20 years in the last three months of Vodafone has just died coverage has been terrible coverage of my house has just changed completely matching Harrington part in the relevant in Sydney and I've got onto the company so many weeks and then bringing them in bringing them and now that you've me an offer of the next three months free I don't have to pay anything to Vodafone three months I've got this in writing from them and that's about to grand to me so I've decided to 3 months and they asked me to stay the three months after that we'll see if you get better reception or I'm outer here

for about 6 months i had phone calls drop out. reception issues sometimes it would work and then other times just drop off i also didn't receive phone calls and go straight to message bank (this happened while the phone was sitting on my desk) I complained to vodafone several times and they said "yes we know and we can't do anything about it". I had 4 months to go on my plan and could'nt wait for it to be finished so i could change to another provider. I decided to bite the bullet and change to another provider before my time was up with vodafone. i couldn't afford to not have my phone working i have to kids and didn't want to risk it.

I had incredibly poor service on 3, and was advised by Vodafone to move across to them to fix this issue. EPIC FAIL. I'm now stuck with an EVEN WORSE service than with 3, and at a higher cost than I was on at 3! ARRRRGH!!!

I stand next to my friends/colleagues using Telstra and their phones are FLYING to the same websites/services. I do a speed test using a speed test app on the phone and I get somewhere between 12 and 20 kbps download speed (when it works), and they are getting between 4mbps (mega bits) and 8mbps. And they are only paying about $20 more a month for the same type of package!
And try dealing with their offshore customer service. WHAT A COMPLETE JOKE. I REFUSE to call them any longer, their method of operations seems to be (after waiting for 45 mins) "I need to transfer you to another dept", then "beep-beep-beep" as I am hung up on. And then another 45 mins to call back and the SAME THING AGAIN. This happened to me EVERY time I called them.
Now I go into a store (where the Vodafone staff member does the same thing and I sit there for half an hour while he waits in the phone for the offshore call centre). At least the people in the store and nice and helpful, poor bas*ards, I dont know how they put up with it without snapping either. They need stress money working for such a completely incompetent company with such incredibly poor customer service such as Vodafone.
Telstra must be laughing all the way to the bank, they couldn't ask for anything better, they must be getting thousands of customers, everyone I know is switching from Voda to Telstra, and this doesn't cost Telstra a cent.
Surely the Vodafone Managing Director in charge of the Australian region needs to resign. How can he continue to allow false contracts to be sold to customers, this is not a temporary glitch, this is a service that does not work, hasn't worked for months, and is being falsely sold to unsuspecting customers (such as me, even if I did get tricked into moving from 3 to Voda).

In the space of 3 minutes my reception went from 3 bars of voda3G to 1 bar of vodafone signal, then back to 3 bars voda3G, than to 1 bar, then to "Searching...", then to one bar, then "No Service" my favourite. I screen shot all these changes as it happened in 3 minutes. This is what I get on an on-going basis. So I can't use my data ever! As soon as it starts to load a page the signal drops! And I'll be standing in exactly the same spot! Funny as well I cant send a text. So technically I pay $60 a month to not use my service and my phone only works on my own wi-fi network at home that's with optus! ( thank god for "whatsapp" on the iPhone)

Needed internet connection so i thought i'll just get mobile wireless broadband instead of cable till i sort my accodation issue out...
So i went to vodafone my first stop and i went on the 24mth 6G plan sounded good to me!!! The employee checked the connectivity in my area Hurstville and said " oh there is very good coverage in your area so i went ahead with the contract...

Been with vodafone for 4 years, have actually been really happy with them for tha whole time, up until about November 2010, recpetion started to become very unreliable in areas where i would normally be getting full bars 100% of the time.
It has got to a point now where today i had 5 calls dropped, and about another 10 un able to connect, this is on the north shore of Sydney, a well covered area by communication towers.
Vodafone is not just sliding downhill, they have just fallen off the cliff.
Won't be renewing with them when my contract ends in March. Happy to now pay the extra with another company, just to get away from this horrible service.

For vodafone mobile broad the connection while still being lousy is stable enough to surf the net when i need to. Is there a reason that it just drops out as soon as I try to play online games such as starcraft 2 and starts coming up with weird error messages that don't appear with a usual dropout?

Crappy reception, call drops or no signal are my biggest frustrations...also I hate Lara and if she eventually understands you then there is never ending wait to find a unhelpful staff at the other end. Internet speed is also slow very slow actually. Vodafone sux!!!

Multiple problems. Phone calls drop out, I get the 3G symbol on my phone but surfing the web is such a painful experience. Slow or non responsive. But this is the part that is the worse.
Last November I requested exit my current Vodafail contract and sign up to a new 12 month contract for my wife and I so we could both get the iPhone. I wanted to pay off both fonts over 12 months, which they agreed.
My first bill came through for over $1K. I rang to dispute and the rep told me that this was an error and he would rectify. I checked my account on the Vodafail website about a week later and it still showed over $1K. I rang again and the 2nd rep said she didn't have any notes about this, but would process and change so I would only pay over 12 months.
Then in December while I was on the Gold Coast (with the worst mobile service I ever experience) the direct debit took place for over $1K.
When I came back to Sydney to do some post XMas shopping my credit card was declined. When I found put the direct debit went through, I immediately rang Vodafail.
The rep apologized etc and couldn't see why this wasn't amended from before XMas. This rep promise to fix and a refund would come through with 6 working days.
Six days later - no refund. Another call and I was told another 6 days.
Another 6 days - no refund. Another call an I was told that it's actually 10 working days. Ok fine.
Another 4 days no refund. Another call, more apologies and another 3 more days.
Another 3 more days and mo refund. Another and this supervisor said that because of the Queensland floods, there has been another 3 day delay because they have back offices in Queensland.
Another 4 days (today) and - surprise - no refund. Today's supervisor was puzzled at the Queensland flood reason given before - she said they have back offices in Queensland but none needed to deal with my problem.

27 Jan 2011 02:45:35 PM: Here's an update - i spoke to a manager who even gave me her extension and profusely apologised. Said couldnt do anymore except send emails to some back office to priorotise this case. During the conversation the call dropped and when she rang back she said she wasn't sure why the call dropped. I couldn't help it - i said "It's because of your network".
She mentioned that the money was applied to my Vodafone account (????) so essentially my future bills will come out of that credit!!!! I was fuming at this stage.
She promised to rectify this, and then she started asking about the network service. So i explained that the network overall is worse now than before. Internet service is horrible, I even said where i work there is a major Vodafone office with a tower etc and I was getting back service there.
She said that she will call back in an hour (i was on my home from work and on the train at this point) and she said she would transfer me to the technical team who will run tests etc.
She said that if it was proven that I'm not getting the service I signed up for then I should be able to get out of my contract with no exit fees. BUT I couldnt keep the phones (which is what I really want as they are both unlocked).

She mentioned that the money was applied to my Vodafone account (????) so essentially my future bills will come out of that credit!!!! I was fuming at this stage.
She promised to rectify this, and then she started asking about the network service. So i explained that the network overall is worse now than before. Internet service is horrible, I even said where i work there is a major Vodafone office with a tower etc and I was getting back service there.
She said that she will call back in an hour (i was on my home from work and on the train at this point) and she said she would transfer me to the technical team who will run tests etc.
She said that if it was proven that I'm not getting the service I signed up for then I should be able to get out of my contract with no exit fees. BUT I couldnt keep the phones (which is what I really want as they are both unlocked).
So anyways - an hour later - no call.

Going online on my iPhone 4 is practically impossible. I previously had the original iPhone 3G with Vodafone, and over my 2 year contract the 3G mobile internet deteriorated to the point where it would take up to 5 minutes to load a page. Thinking this was a hardware issue, I upgraded to the iPhone 4 (with Vodafone again) for another 24 month contract, and for the first 24 hours the internet and maps were GREAT! Since then, however, it has been impossible to look at even the simplest page online. I can tell it's a Vodafone issue because as soon as my internet switches to WiFi, it's super quick. But when it's connected to 3G it takes between 1-5mins to load any page, most of which crash before they load anywhere. When I try to upload a photo to Facebook via the iPhone App (when connected to 3G) it won't allow me to because it doesn't detect an internet connection. But on WiFi, not a problem!

I've been at work today near Wynyard station in the Sydney CBD. I've tried to make calls to organise an Australia Day picnic ALL MORNING - connection error, network busy or it just hangs up without completing the call. And texts go into the outbox, retry and then - yes you guessed it - Fail! And despite the fact that the phone has been on all day, I have just had a text informing me of a voicemail. One and a half hours later, I still can't get a call through to voicemail to listen to it

Calls drop out daily as expected and SMSes fail 2/5 of the times I send it. Walking across Cockle Bay Bridge is also a superfail, good luck calling. Only works when I disable HSPDA and run GSM. I have had 2 months of trying to get hold of Vodafail now. I have sent 5 emails and had 1 response. I have made 7 calls to the Customer "care" department of which they answered only 1 and during this call (which lasted 70 minutes) while on the phone with them the call dropped out twice and they had to call me back. They even noted in the beginning that if I drop out don't worry, we have your number and will call you back. Later they said they will investigate my coverage and get back to me within 5 working days and discuss potential cancellation, which is 2 weeks ago. My wife had a car accident (with my 10 year old son in the car too) and the car is a write-off and in that time our calls kept dropping out while I was trying to get to them. We have had 20 calls drop out in the last 2 days and I have had 5 calls to the customer care without managing to talk to anybody as the calls dropped out saying it appears we have had a technical failure, please call again later. NO WORRIES, I love waiting for 30 minutes just to get back into the back of the line again. I still have not managed to get hold of them.

Bizfone went into my account and barred one of my Vodafone services for no reason 3 times I found this out at a store as every time a dealer logs onto your account leaves their dealer code there.......every time I would call Vodafone customer service all they would do is make me change my password and this won't do anything anyways as the dealer has access to all my details, after continual complaining to Vodafone they finally put me onto the Director of the company and he states that it was an accident.........an accident hacking into my account and barring my service 3 times, how does that work ???? & Vodafone didn't do anything or care at all about this breach of privacy; once my contact is finished I'll never deal with Vodafone again I can really tell that customer privacy is not a priority for then as to the way they handled my complaint. I've been with Vodafone since January 2007. Back then not so bad, then in late 2009-2010 started getting dropouts when I lived in the St George area of Sydney. I then moved to Newcastle, and god forbid mobiles should work here... Just about every time I am on a call it will drop out if I get reception at all. Lately it has been getting much worse, just yesterday I had NINE (9) dropouts. I've called Vodafone about it and they told me I needed to talk to their network team who would call me back but it's been over a week now and still no word, then about healf an hour ago I get a text from them saying that since the new billing period has started 5days ago I have racked up $144 worth of something that they won't tell me. I've checked my online account and that has gone up to $178 in a matter of seconds. Unless someone has discreetly stolen my phone while I have slept at night I fail to see how I could possibly use this much credit in 5days?? VODAFAIL...

Yes, there is an outage. Vodafone.com.au doesnt have any networks issues logged but I phoned and yes, the rocks in sydney has an outage which is causing problems in SYdney CBD, North Sydney, Pyrmont and the Rocks. No ETA for a fix. Had to resort to E network.

after 11 years as a Vodafone customer I have finally given up. Last week I lost a contract due to the fact that I was unable to send an email with the proposal my client wanted. I drove from Manly to Newport (NSW) stopping every 1km or so to resend the email. 2 days later I deleted the email from my outbox, still not having sent. During this period I called Vodafone repeatedly. After being left on hold for 45 minutes I hung up and when I finally got through I was told "sorry" I "dropped out" to which I replied if i dropped out how come I could hear the hold music until I ended the call. I joined Vodafone knowing that regional reception was poor with them and that they concentrated on metro areas. But when I cant get reception in metro areas, when I pay for a 3G service and only get that about 15% of the time it leaves me wondering why I bother! Well I don't anymore. The only way we will let Vodafone know that it's service is substandard and that it cannot treat customers like that, is to vote with our plans and go elsewhere. After much frustration, with call centers that do not listen , reception that drops out and data that just does not work I have finally voted with my custom.

At least every second call wont go through it just keeps saying call failed. It takes ages to get through the calls. I have to use a land line phone for some of them as vodafone just wont work. Therefore I have to pay two phone bills every month.

I have been with Vodafone for 15+ years. One of their original customers and you know what that counts for ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!!! I bought an iphone 3 11 months ago. Since that time I have not been able to send emails - the reason I bought the phone. I have waited on hold for up to an hour sometimes and given up. I have written emails - not a single response. And after 15 years of loyal, paid on time service you know what I get - oh so sorry we will give you $30 off this month and then for the next three months you can have a discount. What I want is never to have to deal with Vodafone again. They don't care about my loyalty so why should I. Man up Vodafone. Cancel my contract at a reasonable rate. iPhone was not connecting to the internet. After 8 hours of vodash*t (un)support, and being sent to 5 diffrerent reps in 1 phone call and ultimately being told to call apple who said it was $200 to even look at, I took it to apple.
Apple fixed it, and blamed vodafone for not sending me the right configurations. After letting him on in my vodaproblems, he waived the fee.
These guys in India read off a script and are useless at helping customers.

Signed up for a new cap plan with a promo of 1GB data each month free for the 1st 12 months of the contract.

Vodafone still can't get their billing right. My handset has been billed $1400 last month - we ended up paying $54...data was incorrect. And now this month the bill is $2077.00, yet again more time will be wasted trying to fix this yet again. The month to date is already heading the same way since 21st bill is already heading toward $200. Any other business would be ashamed of themselves, but they just don't get it. Fix the problem. Stuck in a contract for another 20 months - F#$@!!

I am continuously without coverage and when I speak to the local vodaphone dealership they have blamed my phone. It has now been "sent away" to be repaired (2 and a half weeks ago) and the loan phone that I had yesterday had no coverage. Surely Vodafone customers should receive some sort of discount for our trouble.
My inquiry was left semi unresolved, I am told that technicians will check my main service areas and revert back to me in a few days, I was assured however that if there is no solution found in this time I would be free to walk away from my contract.
Vodafone seem to have been rather fair up to this point, I guess you just need to speak with them and explain your issues.

It seems like it's always NYE and the networks are jammed. Annoyed that I am in a contract for a further 12 months.... Either way I will not be renewing with them after being with them for 10 years.

I used to work for VF before the 3 merger and it's made a HUGE difference to service. I don't even try and call customer service because with the exception of corporate customers I know what kind of people I'll get on the other end! When I worked there the overseas (personal) care reps CONSTANTLY palmed people they 'couldn't handle' onto the business reps who although being locally based could not help them. They didn't seem to know how to fix simple problems that took all of 30 seconds to fix with the proper training and system knowledge and so now I do everything that needs to be done myself and thank the stars I'm in a decent area although the reception onion iPhone at times is ridiculous especially loading data pages.
Might I just say as an inside point of view I personally think the company went down somewhat with the new CEO from 3. Not a fan. Certainly not the same level of caring as his predecessor and why they made that choice is beyond me.
I've been with VF for a long time and unsure if I'll stay but I would never even attempt to call service unless I was out of every other conceivable alternative. Oh well. One can only hope that if enough people complain someone will listen.

i travel around abit on holidays and wherever i seem to go there is no network coverage over christmas i was currently in foster/tuncurry nsw and i had 3g on and 3 to 4 bars of recpetion. i experienced calls dropping out messages 1-2 days later and so on like everyone else. i rang 1555 and stayed on the phone for over 1 hour which i also took a screen shot at 49.55 mins. during of which the wait the pre recorded woman was saying "just hold on we will be with you in just a moment." what happened to the recording message saying it will be a 1 hour wait please call back. but know i told the man my issues and he told be to switch off the 3g setting, in which i did and the phone cut out straight away. i was so furious lucky he called me back and went onto to explain it isn't his fault everyone should know to turn it off when experiencing difficulties. i told him i wasnt paying my bill and that was the end of it. i still got the bill and yet to pay it. im thinking telstra is the way to go!!!!

My 1st Grudge with Vodaphone pretty much started when I signed up. I was living in Perth at the time and of course can get reception anywhere. Soon after I moved home to live with the Family in Albany and of course had RECEPTION SERVICE PROBLEMS, I was able to get coverage in town but drive 10mins away from the centre and away it went! This became an ongoing issue and really got on my nerves as I was having to use my families mobile phones to text who were of course with TELSTRA or OPTUS. Lucky I moved away eventually as I still had 23 months left on the contract!! My Newest GRUDGE has been recent. I have recently started a job which intales me to fly Internationally so in the last few months without even knowing my Bill has sky rocketed to massive $1500 with out me knowing. my phone recently got barred yesterday for not paying! Now I know When a Bill is overdue of course this is there procedure BUT on more then 3 occasions I Called (ON HOLD FOR OVER 30 mins each time!!) trying to sort this issue out. I had no contact from Vodaphone on any occasion to tell me my phone bill was incresing to this substanial amount when I had been at a minimal $80 a month for the last 16months. My payments have always been on time and never overdue! It would of been nice for them as a Company to see that there was a change in billing amount and call me or notify me of this problem!! (Like the Banks)
So now My phone is barred and have tried calling them 6x 2day to get the phone put back on and see what they can do with this amount that I had not been informed of! I finally got through (its now Midnight) after being told by a friend who also had similar problems to call COMPLAINTS and they unbarred my phone till 2moro where I then have to call again and speak to Collections!! So here I am now ANGRY more then ever and want to get out of my Vodaphone Contract!! Making sure I tell everyone never to sign with then again!!
