Dear visitor,
Since its inception Vodafail.com has made a significant
contribution towards raising awareness of the problems and issues faced
by Vodafone customers.
Vodafone Australia customers have had the opportunity to voice their concerns, their fears and their troubles from every corner of Australia and beyond our borders.
You have gathered the courage to stand up for your rights as consumers and to make your voice heard.
Each and every person who shared their story should have a sense of pride in this achievement and the changes that have occurred since the start of Vodafail.com.
More recently, traffic to Vodafail.com has declined significantly.
Having achieved the goal of raising awareness and promoting concrete action in early 2011, we have now reached the point of closing Vodafail to new complaints.
The site will remain online for as long as possible as a
reminder and an example of what is possible when we share our experiences.
It has been a privilege to run this initiative
and I'm am forever grateful for the help and support I've received. In
particular I would like to thank Melissa, David and Travis for their
continued efforts over the past 15 months. I'm also thankful and humbled by the support of ACCAN, Choice magazine and a wide range of media outlets, blogs and websites.
You can still browse existing stories and find out how to file a complaint if you are experiencing problems.
Until next time,
Adam Brimo

7117 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Very Fail at 28 Dec 2010 05:32:42 PM
I have a problem with their mobile broadband service. It's rubbish, with slow service at the best of times and no service at all at the worst of times. I live in metropolitan Brisbane which shouldn't be a tricky place for a decent services. I am quitting after my contract is up in June 2011. When contacting their customer service, I am on hold for ages and get non English speaking staff who don't care and say there is no problem. It's not good enough.
7116 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is in urgent need of customer service staff at 28 Dec 2010 05:32:32 PM
It's no wonder you have to wait on the line so long to get issues sorted when all these people are calling customer service virtually simultaneously.
7087 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Vodapain in the ass at 28 Dec 2010 05:25:07 PM
I am struggling to get a decent connectivity. My prepaid USB mobile broadband drops out in less than 10 minutes. 50% of the time, reconnection is not even possible. I had a dialup account with Pacnet until two years ago - I had no issues. Only a bit slow. Now my Vodafone broadband drops down to speeds less than a 56K modem. What a disgrace! disgrace!! disgrace!! and nothing but disgrace!!!

I'm sitting in my house as I do ever night and talk to my family on the phone, not tonight for some reason I have no service, and when I get service I'm sure it will drop out and I will have to keep ringing them back. Which pisses me and my family off.
6875 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is COMPLETE FAIL at 28 Dec 2010 04:58:05 PM
It was the same crap everyone else on here is seeing, with my 2 phones, 1 a 24/7 company phone = Vodafail , today the 28th of December, waiting on hold for the 3rd time in Redcliffe, QLD i have no coverage on either of my vodafone mobile phones, i can't even find the net work, before the dodgey call centre cut out and i am on hold again the kind operator said they can investigate this and it may take up to 5 days, once again 24/7 company phone??? hello??? Vodafail, I jumped on board the class action, only because being in business i know can't supply the service for the client, don't stuff them around, cut them loose.
6816 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Absolute fail at 28 Dec 2010 04:52:19 PM
Texts and voicemails delayed for days and even over a week! Have called Vodafone customer service over 20 times since feb 2010 and still being told my investigation is on fast track.... Very frustrating! Phone shows full bars of coverage but does not receive messages through til I make a call, like it seems to open the line or something. Vodafone first said I may be able to have my contract recinded but then said no. They even tried to tell me' the prob was with my sim card. Went tovodafone store to have it replaced and they firstly didn't want to know until I made some noise. Seems u get nowhere with these idiots so I'm in too.
6765 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is bloody useless at 28 Dec 2010 04:28:31 PM
The sales lady constantly called my wife asking her to change provider. My wife relented and asked how Vodaphone can help us, well she stated that they are a lot cheaper than our current provider ( Telstra ) she showed us how much we could save and yes the quote was far far cheaper than what were paying. My wife asked about the coverage as word was that the coverage was poor. The sales rep stated that Vodaphone have installed several new towers and the reception had improved vastly. So we changed to Vodaphone, what a joke, constant drop outs, poor reception and bad service. My wife tried to call her since and to this date is yet to get in touch with her nor has the sales rep returned any calls, where is the so called service?? Both of our business's have suffered due to this and we are both extremely pissed off.
6762 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is efficient at 28 Dec 2010 04:23:27 PM
I sent greeting messages on Christmas morning. Over half are only receiving their message today. December 28th. 3 day service. Lucky it wasnt urgent.
6760 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is terribly frustrating at 28 Dec 2010 04:19:56 PM
iphone 4 dropps out constantly, have had handset checked, call centres are always 30 to 40 minute waits and hard to understand people on the other end of the phone, contantly transfferred to other departments upon getting through finally, thus another 10-20 minute wait, and now the latest. -Internet. My god, this is rubbish, unusable where we live. We are in SOUTH EAST QLD - Upper Coomera told we were covered - we can't connect 2g or 3g most days and when we can it is abismally slow - sloooower than dial up modem - wireless net i am talking. Being hutchinson - I realise im probably locked in for another 23 mths at $30. Stear clear the softwares crap that runs these devices, supports abismal, and they lie about (network links/upgrades,etc) We have made several attempts now to have this corrected and have failed to date. Yes. I have given up. What would it cost me to take to court! This is white collar crime. They suck. Not happy. Nathan nathanburke77@msn.com
6758 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Very Poor at 28 Dec 2010 04:19:02 PM
Just completed a 2 yr OVERPRICED contract with vodafone. we have 2 phones and 90% of calls drop out within 10 secs of answering. We live in Brisbane metro area and to have virtually every call drop out is absolute rubbish. Complained at the Vodafone shop in Hyperdome 15 months ago and told upcoming work in the next week or so should solve the problem. No such Luck. Probably no workhas or was ever carried out. We have both changed to another provider as we found their reception far superior. Vodafone keep sending bills but are an absolute rip off and fraud.

6753 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is at 28 Dec 2010 04:14:47 PM
I have been a Vodafone customer for eight months. In that time my mobile coverage at home has gone from very good to no coverage whatsoever. Other networks have coverage at my home. I am paying for no service at all.
6743 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Voda-Me-Out at 28 Dec 2010 04:08:47 PM
Prior to purchasing a vodaphone wireless internet account, they asked for my postcode which I gave them and said that my coverage is very very good.
However when I connect to vodaphones network, I get ONE bar of reception and the download speed is appalling!!
Trying to contact vodaphone helpdesk support is a waste of time. I bought $100 which is 6GB and in one week my access had expired and I finally got a hold
of them on the phone and I sought an explanation as to why my 6GB was gone in
one week - and Vodaphone said to me in a Indian accent 'it must of been something running in the background'..to which I replied 'like What?'.
Realising now that Vodaphone deliberately misrepresented themselves to me upon a quick sale of their product, I am going back to Telstra, at least there connectivity is stable and I get FOUR bars of reception.
I want my money back Vodaphone!

On a good day I have reception for about 4-5 hours during the day, and on a bad day I have none at all. I should also mention that I have MANY MORE bad days than good. And talk about the week-old delayed voice messages I get! It's disgusting; Vodaphone you should be very, very ashamed for providing such a crap service!

Vodafone are very quick to take your money but there is no mention of being compensated for their failings...............

overchraged, in correct information give, i would say horrible customer service if there was any service given without waiting for hours on the other end, incorrect billing, diverted to overseas call centre were it seems the call centre is always busy and if you do by some miracle get a human on the other end they are clearly scripted in what to say and struggle to help with my problems. To sum up in one word SH$@T

We signed over our 4 business mobiles contrat to Vodafone in early December. We are STILL not connected ie no activation has yet happened!! We have received a bill however which has us worried when we do get our new sims activated as the bill is showing numbers and names not related to any of names or existing mobile numbers!! Scary stuff. The phones took 3 weeks longer than promised and went via an unknown address. Our Business Support Representative , Amie Jexxxxxon, has twice emailed us to advise she is unavailable to assist us due to illness which may/may not be an avoidance strategy who knows but with the track record thus far we are distrusting, suspeicious, highly skeptical and very scared!

Have been billed for previous 3 contract when I was advised that I would receive a credit.

I think they make it drop out on purpose to increase profits. If you pay multiple flagfalls and for parts of a a minute/half minute then you will pay more than if you had stayed on a call that drops out.

- Constantly dropping from full reception to none whilst on the phone.
- Delays in receiving texts can be minimal, but often delayed by hours, leading to multiple texts being received at the one time.
- 3G reception is very inconsistent.
- There is consistently an increase in monthly insurance costs, yet it's near impossible to make a succesful claim.
- More and more dead spots in my house appearing, especially of late.
- It can take multiple attempts to dial a number before actually connecting with the network.

I live at Bribie Island, just north of Brisbane. When I contacted Vodafone in regards to lack of service I was told they couldnt guarantee service OVERSEAS......HUH....what ????? From there they werent interested in what I had to say.
28 Dec 2010 04:02:52 PM: i too get complete indifference to completely being IGNORED. Do they really want to remain in business?? Someone, Please BUY them and get us some service. They have a Customer Service Dept who referred me to the T I Ombudsman when all I wanted was to get our 4 sims activated.!!! HELLO !! What the hell are they going to do? However after reading all this stuff others are experiencing, I'm scared they will now be activated - we're changing from 3 Mobile.

28 Dec 2010 03:43:16 PM: I don't expect anything except a decent service, so that I can actually use my phone. you are just one of the lucky ones i suppose. maybe your using an old phone, using credit, when I had credit I had no problems.. signing up to a plan, i've had all the troubles in the world with them.
28 Dec 2010 03:46:56 PM: i have had a phone with vodafone for years and it is still the same to date, i think everyone on this website is complaining about crap boo hoo they still SHIT all over telstra and their FAKE-G NETWORK
28 Dec 2010 06:22:23 PM: Ok, explain this Mr. VF lover, how come i had better reception, call success rates and internet speed in South Australia 200 km north of Adelaide in the country, but i have serious issues with both internet and mobile phone calls and coverage in suburban Brisbane and on the Gold Coast?? Oh and how come i have to try to speak to a retarded, useless recorded voice NO recognition system for hours to even think about getting near a real person ( In India). Try Virgin Mobile people, they use the Optus network but lots cheaper than Optus or Telstra, my work phone is Optus 3g, my Virgin is 3G and guess what, I get more reception on it than the work phone!

I had a blackberry for two weeks and asked vodaphone if i could change they said no. I have been a customer of vodafone for 11 years but hav had latley alot of drop outs. I remember a couple of years ago vodafone was out for over 24 hours. i rang and the blamed optus. I keeped saying im not with optus im with vodafone. anyway the short to it all vodafone has no loyalty to teir customers and im after all these years have 3 months left on contract then im out of here.. I have had enough of no reception and drop outs.......
6694 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Dissapointing at 28 Dec 2010 03:24:13 PM
No Reception inside my house, and only few bars outside the house. Sometimes i do get reception if I stand at a window. After changing to another provider, after my current contract had ran out, they rang me 3 months after to tell me my contract had ran out and gave me offers. I then told them i had already gone to another provider. Its funny that they did not even know!!!
Damaged phone was dropped in water by accident (someone had knocked me while i was texting), and insurance could not be claimed as it were lack of duty of care. It used to be good when they first brought out the cap plans but now its just a pathetic.

6691 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is 10/10 at 28 Dec 2010 03:20:58 PM
Joined Vodafone 4 months ago, and got the iPhone 4. Four weeks later the phone started stuffing up. No sound on phone calls with earpiece or speaker. Yet the speakers work fine playing music or videos. Sent it back to the store, and was told I'd get it back fixed or replaced in 2-4 weeks. 9 weeks later, still didn't have it back, or any word on what was going on. The store I handed it in to was closed for renovations for 2 months. And in this time not even a phone call was made to let me know. I rang the store with no answer endless times, and phoned the call centre only to be told they have no access to the stores information and have no idea where my phone is or what is going on. Finally the store reopened, and got the phone back. Unrepaired. They are now claiming there is liquid damage to the lower part of the phone. The phone has never been anywhere near any kind of water or liquid. And clearly the issue is a software issue. Just bullsh*t.
On top of this, on the loan phone I am using in the mean time, I am experiencing delays of up to 24 hours on sent and received text messages, my calls are regularly dropping out, and am experiencing massive delays in receiving voicemail messages.

No reception in several lecture theatres at my university (the university of queensland), shopping centres, and at my surf club in Kirra. Reception cuts out at my house, and limited connectivity on my vodafone mobile internet. During November, I could not receive incoming calls, or use my internet anywhere at all for 7 days. When I asked a Voda customer service representative why I had reception problems, they told me it was because they couldn't guarantee I'd get service "indoors, anywhere over than my house". I'm incredibly unhappy with Vodafone, and will not use them again.

6681 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is BOGUS at 28 Dec 2010 03:08:28 PM
I have been with Voda on & off for years but this contract round they seem to have really dropped their game. Since getting an iPhone 18 months ago my reception just drops out all the time, my 3G connection drops out so I cant access data, voicemail take ages to arrive and sometimes my phone doesnt even ring and I just get a voicemail message, MMS takes ages, etc etc. I recently went to Japan where I used international roaming but was careful not to use my phone much and my bill was still $650!!!!!! However my reception and data speed everywhere in Japan was second to none due to my phone piggy backing with their providers. When I got back I finally decided to get serious and they told me that it could be the phone or sim but they had no defence when I told them about Japan. I asked them to test my area network which came back as 'poor' and they said I could get out of the last 6 months of my contract at no cost, keep my handset and take 2 months with my bills waived to decide. I still left because they just cant provide a decent service and thats what it comes down to.
6675 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is broadband? more like NARROWBAND! at 28 Dec 2010 03:03:04 PM
I ONLY suffer from Vodafone Mobile Broadband failure. Interestingly, I have been comparing new deals and was very close to switching to Vodafone for my mobile phone, glad I didn't. I live in the heart of the Gold Coast and have been with Vodafone Mobile Broadband for nearly 3 years. At first I was pleased with my decision, but then I also had broadband in the home (with another provider) so any drop-outs or poor coverage mostly went unnoticed or didn't occur. Now is a different story. I rely 100% on mobile broadband with Vodafone and I constantly have major difficulty with coverage, speed and software malfunctions. I run a small design business from my home and in these difficult economic times I have had to find economical solutions to my IT structure, so I have elected only mobile broadband as it serves when I am in the office and when I am away from the office. When will be at the stage when we can have home internet, mobile phone internet and mobile internet for your computer neatly tied up in one compact bundle of bills and hardware. If this does exist, PLEASE someone tell me!

I have been with Vodafail for 18 months. Initially with a Broadband Service with Dell Mini 9 Netbook. After 6 months my connection in Brisbane CBD became choppy and failed after 30-60 secs. Vodafail claimed it wasn't their network, they contact DELL who swapped the entire motherboard. No change to my connection problem. I was swapped to a DELL Mini 10. Again after about 4 months I was having the same problems in Brisbane CBD. They alledgedly sent out network engineers to check my location, who said I do have a coverage problem [in Brisbane CBD !!!] I was offered a a free 4Gb broadband USB stick, as the connection is better than the in-built one in the DELL Mini. I am still paying for my 6Gb in-built data card BUT also paying for a 3Gb Service.
I have complained to vodafail in-store but am still waiting for a reply 1 week later. They discussed options such as the pocket wifi (which has a stronger signal) but I have heard that before !!!
I have also been experiencing phone problems, where the network service is lost in heavily populated areas. And text/voicemail messages coming through days later.

6665 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Extreme Fail :( at 28 Dec 2010 02:55:56 PM
I started up my contract with vodafone a few months ago after being with them pre-paid for quite some time. At that stage I was living on the Sunshine Coast where the reception was ok... I wouldn't say excellent but I didn't have too many issues. Having now moved to Hervey Bay about a month ago I am not getting reception either in my workplace or at my own home! It is absolutely ridiculous as I don't have a landline to rely on although I certainly will be getting one soon. Please step up and do something about this or I will be another customer lost and I will ensure I tell everyone considering vodafone how bad they are!
28 Dec 2010 03:16:40 PM: Ask them to test your network coverage in both those addresses, which they have to if you are on a personal contract, and if they are poor then you are allowed to get out of your contract without any charges or fee's. If they don't co-operate then you can threaten to contact the TIO and they will change their tune...

They then proceded to tell me that i had got my phone had water damage??? wtf it never leaves my bag i treat it like gold!! i got that mad i went to the telecommunication ombudsmen and made a formal complaint, they helped out ALOT (got a prob go to them trust me) after about 2 days vodafone sent me a new phone and reimbursed me for the replacement phone i had to buy, no questions asked! now im having more trouble as i do not recieve picture messages for 3-4 days after they are sent!!! cant wait until my contract is up cuz i will be taking my business elsewhere! Thanks vodaFAIL!!

DON'T OPEN THE ENVELOPE,, Set your internet banking to pay the minimum they require and get a service with someone else. Lucky my sis in law is a solicitor. Go them for charging for a product or service they cannot provide. And I'm sure after printing off several pages from this site, my case ( if it ever gets to court) will make them a tad worried.

I used to be signed up with a plan. They over charged me every month and in one week I had enough so I paid over $600 in one week because the were telling me I was late on my payments. I paid my bill at the post office and it didn't go through to them till two days later which is not my problem.
They then sent my account to a debt collection agency which were very rude and I had to pay them an excess of $2000 just to pay the contract out which gave me a bad credit rating at the time.
Vodafone is unacceptable. My pre-paid account cuts out all the time during phone calls and I never have reception, I actually have to turn my phone off and on just to get reception.
Also when trying to contact Vodafone about my plan and bills I got transferred about 15 times and not to sound racist in anyway they were all of Indian nationality and did not communicate well at all or help me with my problems.
Bottom line is every chance I get I bad mouth Vodafone as a company and suggest to all my family and friends to not sign up with them. They have gone too far and need to be punished!!!!!

Where does one start.. when I first went with vodafone 3yrs ago,my mobile broadband speed was fast and on 3G and now is considerbly slow and always on GPRS and EDGE - dial up was quicker! Next my new moden kept crashing, two days on the phone with customer service and going to my local vodafone ( they didn't want to know/help me, and I originally signed up with them)Everybody I contacted with vodafone kept passing it off to the next person, and to top it off I got charged $200 for a $39 plan, and another day on the phone with them telling me I went over my 4GBs until they FINALLY said they were in error (never direct debit)and to finish my rant I spent hours on the phone with customer service today trying to log onto my vodafone account so I can pay the bloodly bill. Can't wait for my contract to finish, going elsewhere.

They work in intermittant areas - intermittantly ... the big problems I have is that there is no coverage at my factory nor at either my pr my business partners houses ... so they have never been used except once when I went on holiday 13 months ago .. Vodaphone wish to charge me break fees because despote me telling them that they dont work - their paper maps say that they do ... apparently its my choice not to use them ... I have already migrated 2 mobile phones and am waiting for the contracts to run out to cancel the wirelss data cards ... Been on Vodafone for a year, I had to stand in one spot to make a call or send text, internet was just a joke. This was the same with other family members on Vodafone. We became fed up with the poor coverage and service, I have given it a year to improve and in fact it has deteriorated. I have now switched to Telstra, more expensive but at last my mobile can now be used whilst 'mobile'.

I have a Vodafone Wireless Broadband Modem setup for my laptop on holidays at the moment, and sometimes it works fine, but a lot of the time, it won't even load a webpage. Even when I am in the exact same spot and it worked the last time, I connect to vodafone mobile broadband, it says it is "connected", but simple things like Facebook won't even load, and it has before on that same reception level. My prepaid mobile is also with Vodafone, and I sometimes can't get reception even inside my house, which is quite clearly inside a vodafone 3G coverage area. If the call does go through, the call is usually dropped, and if it is a conversation of any particularly long length, I can get up to about 3 call drops before I just give up.

6559 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Customer Service at 28 Dec 2010 01:07:26 PM
In summary in my opion Vodafone have failed me (and I'm sure many others) when it comes giving service. No business is 100% perfect all the time, and you can never satisfy everyone. But the general rule in business is to look after the customer. For some time now I have felt they can't get this fundamental thing right, when you call with a complaint, problem or question at the very least you expect a timely response and better still from a person who can speak proper english (no disrespect). When you push various buttons to get where you think they want you to go, then EVENTUALLY have someone answer, but the conversation gets mixed up because of the overseas time lag and to top it off the keep saying excuse me because they don't understand you. Vodafone prides itself by having their logo plastered everywhere, but why not put some funds and time into where it matters - Customer Service.

We were with Vodfone for 5yrs. All was well until about 12 months ago when every call made or received droppped out after 30seconds.Then my husband who uses his phone for his work got a bill for 380 bucks. Thats 300 above his cap, which was the first time he'd exceded it in 5 years. That was the last bill he got cause when he phoned Vodafone and complained the increase was due to the drop outs and call backs he had to keep making he was met with a rude, but English speaking CSO who said she would refund everything over the cap price if he stayed with Vodafone. He said what's the point if I've got no coverage. She said it was probably the phone and to turn it off and on once a day. It didn't help.He switched carriers. So she said Vodafone would refund 138 dollars(don't know where this figure came from) and they would send a cheque. Fast forward a month and SURPRISE still no cheque. So I emailed them and got an automated response. I rang, waited for 45 mins, got disconnected. Rang next day waited an hour.Spoke to India explained situation and got the run around. Eventually got them to agree to send a refund and got his name and ext. number. Still no refund. I rang again and explained whole story yet again.A cheque for $38 turned up.I rang again to talk to complaints dept. and was told i could only lodge a complaint via email, which i did and received an automated response after 2 weeks and my ringing them again. The response said if I had a complaint to call customer service.I emailed them back and asked for someone to call me back and left my number. I got a reply that said Vodafone is unable to contact me via that media. Ha Ha. A phone company that can't call you using a phone. So if you like to use your phone as an ornament and enjoy getting the runaround, sign up with Vodafone.

I have a mobile broadband account with 3. Ever since they began sharing the network with Vodafone I have gone from full HSPA signal to 3G with one single bar of reception. Data speeds are unusable, plus their usage meter is innacurate so I am charged for excess data usage every month. Customer service varies between rude and non-existent.
6533 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Pretty awful at 28 Dec 2010 12:49:04 PM
I bought a mobile broadband modem from Vodafone last year, and 98% of the time the thing is stuck on GPRS or EDGE, and is about as fast as a dial-up modem. The other 2% of the time it works pretty damn fast on 3G, apparently just to taunt me, since there's no way of knowing when it will do that.
Also, I've had constant drop-outs, sometimes in the middle of a Skype call or download. Tried talking to Vodafone customer service, got put on hold for 15 minutes and then when I got through to a real person she hung up on me without warning, apparently because her English comprehension skills were just about non-existent and she got frustated. Guess that makes two of us. Thanks a lot, Vodafone.

I still remember, "You'll get full coverage, the latest Android versions updated OTA, and excellent customer support. Just sign here." Biggest mistake ever.
Thankfully I discovered the wonderful world of custom Android ROMs so the only thing I need to rely on Vodafone for is the coverage I pay them for. No dice. Hope the class-action goes ahead.

6504 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is a technological crime at 28 Dec 2010 12:23:08 PM
I live in the Brisbane CBD. Although most times I get okay coverage with only a couple dropouts a week and the odd voice distortion, the 3G is painful. I can be using 3G, not move the phone, and it just stops. I can see my device is trying to upload, but nothing back. Then 5-180 seconds later, it works again.
It's especially bad when using GPS applications that require 3G to download maps or other geographical data. I can leave my apartment and drive for up to 7 minutes until a Google Map starts downloading and the GPS can start working with it. But it will constantly drop out while driving (literally every km or so) so the GPS constantly needs to halt and I need to pull over and wait.
Then of course, I can get GTalk and email messages several hours late, causing me to miss meetings, lunches, and just other things that generally require my attention and response to happen.
I love using Wi-Fi, "Oh thank god. Working internet..." I only wish I could say I was exaggerating :(

I have been with Vodaphone mobile plan for about 4 years now and can honestly say that in the last 12 months the call drop out is 1 in 5 phone calls!!! And I work in the city and live in Lutwyche (5kms from the city!) with a mobile phone tower behind my apartment complex!!!
I was with 3 for my internet and the last 6 months noticed that it was super slow!
So - rang to cancel as decided to change companies and to cut and extremely LONG story short - I spent the next 9 weeks, approx. 12 phone calls and about 11 hours phone time trying to: get the new USB, activate the new USB, realise it was a complete waste of time and then cancel my new USB!!!
Apart from 1 person at Vodaphone (Millie) the other people I spoke to ( a total of 14 different people!!!) could not have cared less about me...
Sorry to say but am about to also change phone carrier as I can't be bothered to stay with them anymore - it's costing me too much money in calling people back (and that's as long as I'm not trying to call them between 4.30pm and 6.00pm when there are times I don't even get a phone line to make a call!!!)

I am an incredibly disgruntled Vodafone customer. I am tired of basically paying for a service that I struggle to use. The network reception is incredibly poor. I have had my sim card and phone replaced and this has not resolved the issue. When I call technical support, they just tell me that I should have service in the areas I am located in. They offer no other support nor can they because their network coverage and customer service leaves a lot to be desired. I will be endeavouring to jump ship back to Telstra asap. And I hope for Vodafones sake that they do not attempt to charge me for this.

6454 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is completely incompetent at 28 Dec 2010 11:41:57 AM
I have been with vodafone on a plan for approximately 6 months or so. Prior to that i was prepaid for several years. Since i have been on the plan i have had several problems with vodafone. The problems were, my phone started freezing and reseting itself within the first two weeks, I went to the vodafone shop to fix the problem. Naturally ide assume that it would have been replaced due the fact that it was two weeks old, but the shop attendant told me he would give me a new simcard and i should downlaod the new software, if that didnt fix the problem then i should take it to one of there repairers . I downloaded the software and it didnt fix it. I didnt send it to the repairer because i figured it wouldn't get fixed due to the fact that it started doing it when it was just 2 weeks old. Ive just gotten used to it.
My bill was supposed to be emailed to me every month from the start of the contract. I did not recieve a bill for a couple of months and then recieved an automated call saying that vodafone was cutting of my service so i went back to the store again and apparently it was not set up correctly. The shop attendant then aparently set it up and said I should have an email from them when i get home to confirm it. A week later it came through. Then for afew months, other than my crap phone which also drops out of reception for no reason (if i turn it off and on it gets reception again) things were reasonable.
Then two months ago I paid a bill at the post office, i thought i had lost my reciept and the next bill i recieved stated that i had not payed the last. So believing i had no reciept or no proof or payment i paid the bill for the last month and that month. I then kept that reciept and surprise surprise the next month or this months bill stated i had not payed last months.
I left work an hour early the other week to make it to the vodafone store to sort this out. The shop attendant i was talking to looked up the information and said the billing system is only about 60% accurate most of the time. He then proceeded to explain that my bills had been paid and that i owed only $1.15. He then revised it treating me like an idiot asking me repeatedly if i understood how it worked. The he stated that again that i had to pay $1.15 to which i said how? Because you cant pay part of a bill at the post office. Leaving me no option and not helping me at all i left. I then paid it online at the vodafone website to which im being charged a handling fee due to vodafones incompetence.
Also the internet on my phone doesnt work very well at all, most of the time it just times out or has no rception.

I recently changed from Optus to Vodaphone on recommendation from my son.
Yes the Vodaphone plan is good and the service on signup was good. the trouble is that I use my phone for business calls and it is frustrating to either not be able to communicate without the continuous drop outs and failure to connect to other calls. In fact, I am now sorry that I changed networks as the call failures are effecting my business. I hope that Vodaphone can fix this?

I don't see how anybody is locked into a contract, when Vodaphone has already broken their end of the deal. If they are not providing what they have promised, the people not receiving the service, are not obligated to fulfill their contract with Vodaphone.

What a waste of money, costs too much to get out of contract so will just have to wait.
6434 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is wost mobile phone server ever. at 28 Dec 2010 11:21:03 AM
We could not get service in our own house. We had to go to the very rear of our block to get access to a tower. The phones would ring but you could not answer them as there was no service. I would only get service on half my way home - on a major highway through Brisbane. We were also charged an extra $100 on one of our bills, we rang the number on the bill to complain. We could not get anyone to understand us, let alone assist us when we finally got through - after over 4 hours at different times on mobile and landline trying to access the number. We even went to the vodaphone office. The person behind the counter was rude and very unhelpful. He said we had to ring the number on the bill!! We ended up paying the money as vodaphone started sending nasty letters. We changed servers and payed off the contract to get away from vodaphone. We can now answer phone calls at home - inside the house. We get messages on the day they are sent not the next day. We have service everywhere we go. We have warned every person we speak to about staying away from vodaphone - we even have a note sending disatisfied customers to this site at our retail store.

Total disaster as far as connectivity goes. The internet takes forever to connect if ever and phone calls are hit and miss with no service over 50% of the time. Not good enough, they keep charging me though, funny that! Dont bother ringing Vodafone cause you will wait at least 25 minutes to get through and then they will tell you there is nothing they can do.

My phone drops out, sometimes i never receive MMS messages..even when i have sent them to myself from other peoples phones.
Sometimes text messages are delayed, then arrive multiple times.
The internet coverage turns my iphone into a commodore 64.
I WANT OUT!

6400 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Shocking Reception at 28 Dec 2010 10:56:56 AM
I have 2 phones and mobile broadband with vodafone and live in townsville. I have to move around my house to get reception to make or recieve calls. Common to have delayed text msg's and voicemail. No reception at my work 15km from CBD, I have an iphone so dont even think about using any of my 1gb of data can barely load google. Mobilebroadband only works outside peak times as there is not enough reception to load any pages. Please help me get out of vodafone so I can pay someone for a service that I can actually use, C'mon class action get me out of my contract.

I have an iPhone that I cant use as a Phone. Apparently according to Vodaphone, its the iPhone not them that I cant make/receive calls, texts, email. I also apparently am in a VERY good reception area. I cant make calls from my workplace or my own home, both of which are in a 5klm radius.
They have even admitted that I'm getting poor service as they halved my Fee due to the fact that I'm unable to get any service..Cant wait til my Contract expires. Good ridance Vodaphone

6386 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Useless at 28 Dec 2010 10:43:16 AM
I run my construction business from my home in Taringa and had 3 mobiles on Vodafone caps. After the merger with 3 my reception disappeared and I changed the phone the sim card everything to no avail !!
Eventually after 4 months on continuos complaining to SOHO solutions, they cancelled my contract and allowed me to keep the 'phones ( 1 out of contract, 1 2 months to go and 1 15 months to go )
I changed to Telstra and have no issues and full coverage everywhere

6385 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Disgraceful service at 28 Dec 2010 10:43:16 AM
The network coverage in my area of Cairns (Redlynch) is disgraceful. We, in our household do not have a landline and rely solely on mobile phones (Vodafone). More frequently than not my phone conversations break up to the point where the person I am talking to cannot understand what I'm saying, not to mention the frequent signal drop outs. My question to Vodafone is, would they be prepared to accept responsibility if there is no network coverage in an emergency situation??
6380 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is extreme fail at 28 Dec 2010 10:40:17 AM
I phoned vodafone to cancel a mobile internet service i have had for 12 months. I sat on hold 4 nights in a row for 2.5 hours and when I finally got through to to a representative, the cancellations department had 'closed'. It took 2 irate phone calls to finally get through to the cancellations team who gave me the third degree about why i was cancelling. They then proceeded to tell me i signed a 24 month contract and a cancellation fee would apply. I am positive I would have only signed up to a 12 month contract as I was renting and aiming to go overseas the next year. I cannot find any paperwork at my end which is bad on my part otherwise I would have a case. I asked them to email me a copy of the contract which they could not do. i will be moving my business to optus when my contact is up in feb. VERY UNHAPPY.

6374 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is VERY FAIL :( at 28 Dec 2010 10:36:35 AM
My phone drops in and out all the time, usless having an iphone when you can hardy use the features due to signall strentgh andf i live in the city not the bush. At work i have to go outside to get better signal and this is in the CBD of Cairns, we are not a remote area. Tried callin many occoasions to get a payout figure but you spend so bloody long on hold and i have had this drop out when they are transferring you to another area to deal with my questions. My partner can hardy ever call me as my phone shows "no signal", then later on it's got it...bloody fustrating and i'm ready just to get away from Vodafone as much as i don't like Telstra, but considering just cancelling and moving to another provider.
6367 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Poor coverage and service at 28 Dec 2010 10:30:55 AM
I live in an area that shows on the map that it's in good coverage. I constantly get calls dropping out or no service at all. As a member of a couple of emergency service organisations I need good coverage to be called up for service. I've logged a number of complaints and was told to wait until after the upgrade in my area as it should improve then. Nope, it didn't improve. I also don't get any service at all at my friends place (up on top of the hill nearby) and it too is in a good coverage area according to their map.
When I try to make contact with Voda about it, I usually end up with a person who has limited, if any, english and become more frustrated from talking to them. When I go to the store they direct me to the call centre and are unable to help.
Yesterday I wanted to go and upgrade my phone, before leaving I looked up the opening hours of the store (9am). After waiting for over 20mins past the opening time, I knocked on the glass and got the attention of a lady inside who stated they didn't open until 10am as it was a public holiday. This was not noted on the internet and there was no sign outside the store to indicate this. I left very angry as I didn't have time to wait. I live 20mins outside of town and only went in to see them.
I called customer care when I got home to try and find out about the eligibility for upgrading my phone and after an hour of waiting for someone to answer, I hung up in disgust.
I really like the caps and the infinity offers but I just wish the service and coverage would improve.

6365 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is pathetic network coverage at 28 Dec 2010 10:28:24 AM
I think it is a disgrace for vodaphone to keep on offering contracts with no plan to improve their network. Vodaphone's corporate strategy sucks!!
