Dear visitor,
Since its inception Vodafail.com has made a significant
contribution towards raising awareness of the problems and issues faced
by Vodafone customers.
Vodafone Australia customers have had the opportunity to voice their concerns, their fears and their troubles from every corner of Australia and beyond our borders.
You have gathered the courage to stand up for your rights as consumers and to make your voice heard.
Each and every person who shared their story should have a sense of pride in this achievement and the changes that have occurred since the start of Vodafail.com.
More recently, traffic to Vodafail.com has declined significantly.
Having achieved the goal of raising awareness and promoting concrete action in early 2011, we have now reached the point of closing Vodafail to new complaints.
The site will remain online for as long as possible as a
reminder and an example of what is possible when we share our experiences.
It has been a privilege to run this initiative
and I'm am forever grateful for the help and support I've received. In
particular I would like to thank Melissa, David and Travis for their
continued efforts over the past 15 months. I'm also thankful and humbled by the support of ACCAN, Choice magazine and a wide range of media outlets, blogs and websites.
You can still browse existing stories and find out how to file a complaint if you are experiencing problems.
Until next time,
Adam Brimo

7357 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Bad at 28 Dec 2010 06:17:13 PM
I signed up for mobile broadband in November this year & had connection trouble straight away(no reception).after finding out there was no reception where I live I signed up for a different plan that requires a wi fi modem but still some connection problems usually in the mornings & the modem needs to be placed near a window to get reception which renges from excellent to fair.

After swapping to Vodafone from Optus i am SO dissapointed with the service.
My iphone always says no service or searching and people try to call me and it does not even come up on my phone.
I think we should all get a credit because its absolutely disgusting.

7349 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Very unimpressed!! at 28 Dec 2010 06:15:02 PM
I signed up to a 24mth Iphone 4 contract. Took over 5weeks for my phone will arrive (When I was advised 2x weeks).
I then suffered for the next 4weeks with bad reception, calls dropping out, Messages not going throung, unable to send mms + sms, and poor internet access.
I basicly had a pretty phine but couldnt use it.
If i wanted to make a call i had to turn the phone off then back on and call some one. I couldnt answer a call with out it echoing or hearing noises.
I was on the phone to Vodaphone almost every day for 3 weeks, with reception issues
they sent me out a replacement phone twice as they kept saying it was a phone issue.
they even told me that they were running tests/ reports and saying that coverage was fine in my area/s.
I cancelled my contract due to poor/ lack of coverage. and told that i wouldnt have to pay a disconnect fee. low and behold 3 weeks later i recieved my last bill in the mail.. and i was charged for 2x phones and the disconnect fee of ending my contract 23mths early.
NOT IMPRESSED!!!

28 Dec 2010 06:26:33 PM: Graeme Samuel, chairman of the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC), said the regulator was aware of the issues and was investigating them.
However, Mr Samuel disputed news reports from earlier this week that said customers were within their rights to break contracts with the telco. He said affected customers should first try to resolve the problem with Vodafone and then contact the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman (TIO).

7331 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is EPIC at 28 Dec 2010 06:11:24 PM
I ordered my new iphone 2months ago over the phone, they told me it would take 6-8 weeks to delivered because it was in such high demand - fair enough. I waited 6 weeks and still no phone, so i called them up only to be told that the address they had taken down was incorrect. Did no one think to call the customer to confirm??? If I had not called them up, I would still be sitting here waiting for my phone. So then we confirmed the delivery address and the person told me it'd be there within the next 24-48 hours. 3 days later, phone still hadn't arrived so I called them up again, this time waiting almost an hour to speak to someone only to be told that the previous guy had told me the wrong information and instead of 24-48 hours, my phone will take 2 weeks!! I've already started paying for my new phone and by the time my phone does arrive, i would've paid two installments for it already. The true test will be this week when i'm "supposed" to get a new phone.
In addition to the epic vodaFAIL with my new phone...i live within 5 kms from the sydney CBD and my vodafone internet doesn't work and I can't receive and make ANY calls from my mobile phone.

7327 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Totally Pissed Off at 28 Dec 2010 06:10:41 PM
For months I have had a direct debit for my Voda bill. Then suddenly ALL of the Direct Debit details are 'wiped' and the DD is cancelled! WTF? Tried to call Voda to find out what happened - what a waste of time and gave up in disgust. So sent them an email which comes back with a standard BS list of generic causes and the incident status now 'Solved'! After being with Voda for years, I am seriosly considering going elsewhere, but not before I talk to the TIO first

i have had a contract for a couple of months and constantly am dealing with poor reception and drop outs. i just tried to call to cancell. i have a call log with 14 calls to 1555 only to have all of them drop out at some point. some after 6 or more minutes on hold WTF....... HOW THE HELL CAN YOU GET THROUGH. On christmas day i missed out calling some members of my familyu because of the drop outs and got so frustrated i gave up.
7323 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Large Fail at 28 Dec 2010 06:09:35 PM
Signed up for a 2 year contract 1 month ago after being told by the vodafone sales rep there was full coverage in my area of Sydney.
Result:
I have online coverage less than 50% of the time. When i do manage to get online, i'm lucky if it'll last more than a minute.
Calls regularly drop-out.
It's not rare for me to have to use my home phone to call customer support... calling 1555 or the 1300 number on my mobile doesn't work... won't even ring. When i do use my home phone i sit on hold for 30 mins +. I've sat through the wait a couple of times now, reached a customer support employee and then had the call drop-out. Very frustrating!! The last time i called customer support the electronic voice began to break-up and sat on repeat like a broken record. FAIL!
I will give vodafone a chance to sort out this mess but if there are no improvements soon they will never have my business again!

Drop outs are driving me crazy. Doesn't matter where I am. Sometimes sorry alot of times I can't even connect to network. Solution by Vodaphone shop ? He put me on the 2G network from 3G ! Great !!!

I have been a loyal vodafone customer since 2000 and whithin the last 6 months i have had nothing but cronic pain with them. In July i upgraded to and Iphone, upgraded my plan and the next month i got a bill for $1200, including 2 different contract charges a contract cancelation charge and an excessive data charge, it took me 6 months nearly and to lodge a complaint with the TIO before i could have all but the monthly fee waved due to the incompetance of the customer service staff. They did not start my new plan when they said they would thus incurring the data charges, they did not update my account properly thus incurring the contract cancellation fee and since then i have not been able to use any data and barely make calls without it failing at home, So basically i pay $120 a month for a fone and data contract i can't use when i'm home. This is outrageous and i'm stuck with it for 18 months unless i pay out the contract/ fone finance deal so i can port to a different carrier.
I would almost vote that Vodafone is now the worst mobile provider in Australia and have the worst customer service i have ever experienced with being on hold for crazy amounts of time and honestly can anyone understand what the damn operators that "CLAIM" to be in say melbourne for example but clearly have a crazy strong totaly impossible to understand accent YEH RIGHT.

Coverage has always been a big pain to me.I often see people on their mobiles in areas where my phone tells me there is no coverage.

The usual drop out calls. I have been them for almost 4 years. The reason I switched to Vodafone was Telstra's lack of coverage in Green valley & Bonnyrigg area's. Vodafone network was ok until the 3G was introduced. I am at the end of my contract so I will leave them for good.

I have no service in my house or immediate area so cannot make or receive calls or SMS messages. Calls constantly either drop out or I get SMS messages days late and phone messages who knows when ? Sometime at 3 in the morning. This very frustrating when I pay for an unlimited plan. I also paid to unlock a handset and after10hour being put on hold promises to call that never happened the handset is still not unlocked. I have made 2 complaints in writing and have made complaints and spoken to supervisor/managers who are from another country and try but have no real understanding of what is going on.
I have been with vodafone for 10 years but will. Not renew my contract. This is just a glimpse.

I purrchased a Pocket WiFi prepaid pack on the 24th of November, what a mistake...
It all started when I received a post paid pack the next day, they stole my $99 immediately, I called and they couldnt help, they said I was sent the wrong pack, and after atleast 10 x 1 Hour phone calls, I was told there was nothing that could be done becuase I was sent the wrong pack and wasnt supplied a phone number, so therefore wasnt eligible for a refund, I have called atleast anothe 10 times since, each call taking between 1 and 1.5 hours, I am sure they have some kind of mechanism that only puts you on que after an hour, same old story, having to explain my situation each time because there are no notes on the system, then I am told to send an email I do, then get one back, I have sent 8 since, telling me the only department that can help is customer servie by phone, then I call and they tell me there are no notes and why am I so upset if I havent called before and they need a chance to sort it out, yeh, 25 phone calls, over an hour each and 8 emails, why didnt I do something about it...
basically, I have paid $99 for a modem I cannot use and am not entitled to a refund, because Vodafone didnt send me a number to register, their fault, yet I must suffer...

Have been back with Vodafone for around 7 weeks, unable to access the myvodafone for the last 4 weeks. Spoken to the call center they try resetting the password, it doesn't work, they tell me to wait 24hrs and try again...I put the ball in their court for them to ring me back with a solution - they don't! When mention this to other people they appologise but say they cant do anything and will fix - but doesn't happen. Now referred to TIO.
Also have had issues with deals that I signed up for not going through and taking numerous calls and a visit to the store to sort out - deals still aren't being completely honoured, but i don't have time/effort to persue. Billing issues with them charging the credit card rather than bank account.

Sometimes unable to make calls even with full or near full signal.
Major areas around Sydney have very poor or no reception.

I don't bother calling Vodafone customer support as it is a waste of time and gets you nowhere.

I have been a Vodafone customer since mobile phones where first introduced and i have never had the problems like ive had in the last 12 months. I am running a business and i have lost endless amounts of clientel and money. People call me and cant get through italways says im on the phone and i dont get a txt saying i have voicemail for like 4 days later and by this time my clients have gone somewhere else. I had a family emergency last week and no one could get through to me for 2 hours. This is appauling. I am on a $99 cap and I have just received a bill with an extra $220 in call charges which i will be refusing to pay as i have to call people back at least 4 times in one phone call which means paying 4 flag fall fees. Here is a list of problems ive experienced in the last 12 months:
1. No service
2. Call failure
3. Call not possible
4. Dont receive txt messages for days later
5. Dont receive voicemail msgs
6. dissconnected from calls at least 4 times in one phone call
7. swirling sound when on a call and have to hang up and ring back
8. Every time i ring Vodafone im on hold for more than an hour and i have a newborn baby so i can never hold on instead i select an option for someone to ring me back once its my turn in the line. No one has ever rang me back.
9. Unable to send txt msgs cause it says my sim card is full.
10. Never able to log onto the Vodafone website as it never loads.
11. Vodafone is curently investigating my phone contract as i rang them and told them i wanted out of my contract an i was promised that someone would call me back within 72 hours. It has now been over a week and i still have not heard anything.
I also have wireless internet with Vodafone and received a bill for $800 being for extra internet usage over my 5G a month allowance. In 2 years i have never exceeded my limit with Vodafone. When i rang them they told me all this usage was the exact dates i was in hospital after i had my baby. How is this possible when me or my partner where not home. I refused to pay that bill.

I also am experiencing the phone drop outs. Normally its about 1 minute in. I also go to call people and it doesn't connect. I also fail to receive messages on time. After calling vodafone and waiting on hold for half an hour the lady eventually said that i have call barrings activated (yes, I personally chose to block messages to my phone). For everyone out there who are having this problem dial #330*0000# and then it will say call barrings canceled.
I also had a problem paying my bill online, i called customer service and eventually managed to contact a vodafone phone answerer. I say it like this because I couldn't understand a word she was saying and visa versa. She told me that I could pay my bill over the phone but she couldn't guarantee that it would register as paid. She gave me a three day extension. I then since managed to pay it but three weeks on it still hasn't registered that ive payed even though its been taken out of my account. I went into the vodafone shop and told them about it and they said there was nothing they could do and I would have to contact customer care. What is the point of having a shop if you cant get help from them? Just there to make sales and faulty promises.
Also, my bill this month has miraculously gained a couple of dollars. From them sending me your bill is now due message, it now says after texting 1512 that its extra few dollars. Of course i cant get through to customer "care". Although I did email them. However i received an automated response listing nothing more then what was available on the internet. It then changed the status of my communication to "Solved" which meant no further action would be taken. I then replied to that response and got another email saying that it would be up to a couple of months due to "holiday" period before I would get a response.
I also fail to get reception for most of the day at work. I work in a well populated metropolitan area and still have no reception. Its pathetic.
My boyfriend took his phone into the store to get fixed, after telling him that it would be fixed withing 2 weeks and no phone replacement phone could be offered he contacted them 3 months later to find out what was going on. They said they had been trying to contact him. He found out they were ringing his mobile number (after he had requested they ring his work phone). How helpful. Little did they know he had borrowed an old phone from a friend and had no miss calls over the period of that 3 months.
Lara, the automated phone answering service is pathetic. Its ridiculous and it takes over 5 minutes to get transferred to a help department who then put you on hold.
Their bill checking service also conveniently is unavailable towards the end of the billing period so you can not check your balance and adjust usage accordingly .One day, you've got $100 left, the next day your minus $20 when only 10 messages were sent.
In summary, I'm am so unsatisfied with the service Vodafone provide and cannot wait to get out of my contract! Kudos for bringing this lack of service to the public's attention and getting the majority to unite to force Vodafone to act.

I have been with Voda for over 10 years and actually started with them in I think their first year. Over the last two years my service has been very bad. But over the last 10 months it has nearly became nil in valid. they said they would send someone out to test the service in my area but never showed. Over christmas my friends and family recieved messages over 6 times each when I had only sent them once. I have had enough of sitting on hold or talking to Lara the computer every time I have a problem! The last time was over 1 hour waiting. I hope this some how helps our cause. Well done!

I have been a Vodafone customer for many years. Last December I signed up for a 2 year contract for mobile broadband as I was moving houses & didn't want to pay the $200 transfer fee for my then current cable internet provider. After installing the device I immediately began having problems with connection, speed, drop outs and unable to connect. The plan was for $20/month for the first 6 months & $40/month for the balance of the contract & thereafter. After at least 100 hours on my mobile to vodafone's 1555 I still had no resolve, except to be told that the USB device appeared to be faulty USB device. A replacement was sent & still had the same problems. At least another 200 hours of calls to vodafone I some how managed to speak to an Aussie woman who was extremely sympathetic to my problems who said that I didn't need to have to go through with all this which also included an account for over $200 of excess usage. She then credited my account with the excessive usage amount plus lowered the monthly charges to $20/month for the balance of the contract & thereafter. This didn't alleviate the problems that I was enduring, however it eased the financial pain. Next my email bills failed to arrive although I had received texts to say that they had been sent. The straw that broke the camel's back came when all vodafone services in my area went down for 3 days, for the 4 vodafone phones & internet in my household. After getting out of my immediate are I managed to connect to 1555 where I was kept on hold for almost 3 hours whilst "lara" kept on telling me to "hold on, we'll be with you shortly" which was announced every few minutes much to the annoyance of my bus passengers as the phone was on bluetooth. The woman I finally spoke to was as ignorant as most of the call centre people seem to be and blamed the problems on either my phone or my computer.
When I demanded to be put through to someone in Australia the response was that there was no-one in Aust. to speak to as everyone was in Mumbai India. My latest problems now is that I still do not have 3G coverage although the drop outs etc., are far & few between, but the coverage goes from 3G to HSDPA to GPRS and finally at times to Edge which is as good as not having a connection at all. I have been promised monthly credits which haven't come through. After so many months of pain, agony, frustration and anger my email bilss have finally arrived with the message..."congratulations, your first email bill is attached". Get your bloody act together Vodafone and give us real people in Australia we can speak to and know what they are talking about. I'd go back to cable even at a higher price, but sadly it's not available in my area through satellite.

I am continually dropping out. I cannot get reception at may parent's place in Villawood unless I go outside or hang out the window.
I had trouble with 'black spots' in my old apartment (even though I lived about 500m away from the Vodafone tower).
Any place I seem to go, I can manage to call but then drop out. I am starting to think that this is just to get the extra flag-fall fees....
Sadly, I have had to revert to the caveman era and use the 2G network. If that doesn't work, I guess I'm going back to smoke signals!

This is a copy of a recent complaint sent to Vodafone: This is not so much a question as a complaint, however seeing as the on-hold time on Vodafone for my husband last time we called was 1 hour I have opted not to call. By the way, if I hear that Vodafone apologise for the wait and will be with me 'really soon' (stop lying to me 'Lara') I will literally throw my phone across the road (that's right, we have to walk up the road to make a phonecall, even though we live in Eastwood; the middle of Sydney!).
Basically I am completely sick & tired of the fact that I simply cannot make a phonecall from my mobile while at home, nor can I use my Vodafone internet. This means that I cannot call anyone, cannot contact my husband or my mother or numerous friends who are also on Vodafone (and also SICK to death of the bad network coverage in Sydney CBD). To compound the problem, whenever I try to call vodafone to complain, (which is rare, as I rarely have enough coverage to do so) I am put on hold for an immeasurable ammount of time.
Thankyou Vodafone for living up to your new nick-name of VodaFAIL & completely failing me & my friends & family.

Vodafone is no longer in my list of good service providers, they have ripped me off several times.
Four months ago i got up for work and noticed i had no service on my iphone 4,
all day i could not make or recive calls at this point my blood was boiling when i got home i was on the phone (A LAND LINE) to vodafone they had redirected me to the network department in india, i was told to follow the trouble shooting instructions right their and then but no luck so they told me i need a new sim card and i can get one from any vodafone or three store, this is very hard to do when your trying to make a living. After going to five vodafone and three stores finally a new sim card and i was back online but it only lasted 27 days, so back on to vodafone same story need a new sim card, when i was finally able to make it to a store i was told they had ran out of sim cards and would not have stock for seven days i was told this at several stores. This happened to me four times im up to my fourth sim card
In these times i turn my phone off as it was as good as a paper weight. So many times they tried to blame the phone so i thought i would send it out for a service but Apple confirmed nothing wrong. Even after a new sim card still i have bad reception, calls dropping out and worst of all a slow sms turn over After many times on the phone to vodafone they still can not stand up and admit doing me out of my service im on a 79 cap my hard earned money down the drain because of their lack of interest for its customers thanks for nothing vodafone.

7135 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is pretty atrocious at 28 Dec 2010 05:38:13 PM
Just tried to make a call and got an error tone and the message "congestion" on my phone.
I haven't had too many problems with Vodafone recently, apart from wanting to watch the cricket on the train home on Boxing Day and not having the signal to do so. If Telstra broadcast the ashes, I'd go to them (I do work for them, and our network is far superior it's just that if you want that network you'll have to pay for it)
My major issue with Vodafone was when I got my first contract with them. Mum signed it up in her name when I was 17 and when it came time for me to transfer it to my name as an 18 year old, we rang up and got it sorted.
Unfortunately, instead of doing a simple transfer of ownership, they cancelled my contract which had 18 months to go and charged me upwards of 700 dollars.
Not a fun first bill as an 18 year old.
I eventually got that sorted, but then mine phone died, and despite paying mobile insurance for it every month, they would not replace it as it didn't cover faults with the phones.
I ended up paying for a second phone ontop of my other plan.
Luckily now with 2 years experience in tghe telecommunication industry, I know how to get my way in and out of contracts so it's not too bad anymore.
But be suspicious with any deal they offer you!

I could see the Vodafone tower from my old apartment balcony in Chatswood and yet the best reception I could EVER manage was 'poor' from my wireless connection. To add insult to injury, when I went to Forster for a random weekend away, 8 floors up in my hotel, I got 'excellent' reception. Explain in what normal world would you expect better reception in a sleepy seaside town than the middle of Sydney. EPIC FAIL Vodafraud- I want to be disconnected from you!

In Sept 2010 we got new mobiles and are on a 2year contract. We have taken the phones back and they have given us new sim cards to help with the issues we are having. The phones break up when talking and u can not hear anything. We get no service in places that we should get service. The phones while talking will make a loud buzzing sound then the phone automatically turns off and comes back on. I have called and complained but it seems nothing is being done to fix the issues. It takes hours for others to receive sms and for me to receive them.

7113 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Is it Vodafone? at 28 Dec 2010 05:31:33 PM
I'm not sure if my case is directly a Vodafone issue. I'm a 3 mobile customer, who I understand utilise the Vodafone network when out of their own 3G coverage areas (mainly capital cities). I spend a bit of time on south coast NSW (Jervis Bay) and have a huge amount of dropped calls, when signal strength shows 100%. Could this be the dreaded Vodafone? Not related, but I live in Riverwood (Sydney) and though I have 100% signal at home, I am continually dropping out. Can't be the phone as 2 other phones doing the same. Are 3 having the same issues as Vodafone or do 3 use Vodafone system around Sydney too??
28 Dec 2010 05:37:40 PM: 3 have their own towers and wherever you cannot get 3 reception, your 3 mobile will roam off of Telstra's network. Excessive roaming on the 3 network of late could possibly be explained by the merging of the two telcos and an amalgamation of tower usage. Vodafone expects this to be resolved in the next 6-8 months. That's what they're telling us anyway. <3 Your friendly neighbourhood VF rep.

I hjave been loyal cutomer of Voda for 8 years, But my experience in the last few months has forced me to look for another supplier.
What a jike- ustomer care line ( 1555 number). You never ever get a call answered with out having to wait a minimum 15 minutes ( regardless of the tiome of the day or day of the week). Then you are too afaraid to move around after waiyng 20 or 30 minutes for some one to answer your call incase you drop out ( it has happened to me on more than one occassion).
They think the option of calling you back is a good service - I don't think they ealise people don't have 30 minutes to sit around waiting for a call.
So the cutomer care line ( the lack of it), the drop out calls and the lack of coverage will see me changing plans.
Hopw do I get out of me curent plan?

Normal text messages seem to send and be recieved ok. I sent a Picture message that my partner recieved 2 hours later (which was the quickest), all other MMS's have taken up to 12 hours to get!! I can drive to Melbourne and show the person the Pic in less time than Vodafone's useless service! I was also stuck in the city and tried looking up a phone number on the internet and it just didn't load! So sick of it!! I feel sorry for people who are 'locked in' to contracts, surely people can't be forced to use something that doesn't work. You wouldn't use your car if it didn't work properly would you?

when i was in Auckland, i called back to my wife's mobile, which the service provider is vodofone, i got message say "there is incoming call restriction".
I was shocked that my wife had publish this mobile number on Internet for her oversea client to call back. So far we did not receive any phone call from oversea.
I don't know if any one had experience similar things.

call drop outs, voice messages 3 to 5 days late, no reception for days, poor call quality when I finally get through, slow internet and sitting on the phone waiting for someone from Vodafone to answer it after hours of waiting only to get someone who puts me through to another department and i'm left waiting again before the call cuts out. I am fed up with the service or lack there of. If you're ever late with a bill you get constantly msged and called to pay, yet when the service provider does not provide a service, there is no one to speak to.

Here is an email I sent to Vodafone only a few minutes ago after being on hold for over 35mins.
Hi,
I've been a Vodafone user for over 15 years and have not have many problems until the past few months. The problems I'm experiencing is as follows:
Dropped calls
SMS takes 24 hours or more to send and receive
MMS messages not receive to I send them to
Mobile internet very slow and drops out
Visual Voice-mail on my iPhone 4, receives messages hours and sometimes days after the message has been left
All these above problems happen when I have what appears to be full signal strength.
I am paying for a service I believe that Vodafone is not supplying.
Also it is very difficult to get through to any customer service staff.
Does Vodafone think that its customers have hours to sit and wait on hold?
I will be reconsidering my service with Vodafone over the next few months and I may recommend to my Family, Friends and Work mates to avoid Vodafone if the want to receive a quality service.
Vodafone should stop sponsoring the Cricket and invest money in its network
I hope to get a reply from this email. But as with the mobile service I doubt it.
Thanks

On Dec 8th, I first realised I had no service at work when I received the "Network Lost" message around 3:30pm. I didn't get reception til to after 4:30pm when I actually was at home. I wasn't overly annoyed, but I would finish work soon. I did log onto myvodafone at work to check if there were any network dropouts and of course, the page wouldn't load properly.
On Dec 9th, I arrived at work at 7:30am and went to phone my sister- lo and behold- "No Service" and that stupid message of "Network Lost. Your selected cellular network is no longer available. You can choose a different network in Settings." So I turned off my iphone. Didn't work. I reset it. Didn't work. I did a master reset. It didn't work. I took my simcard out. It didn't work. I tried this at random periods through the day, and of course, NO SERVICE. And that stupid message would always pop up to select a different network. How the hell am I supposed to select a different network when I am contracted to Vodafone? Their old saying of "I want to be connected" is more like, "I'm going to be disconnected- from everything".
So only after I returned home around 5pm, I had service again. It was after speaking to my sister that she informed me that she had heard something about Vodafone making some statement in the Sydney Morning Herald about admitting the 3G Network being totally crap. I knew that they were also combining with 3, so I just assumed it had something to do with it.
I could get over that, though I was supremely angry- but as I am an obsessive note taker, I wrote everything down- dates and times, with things I was doing, and swore if it happened again, I would call.
So enter Christmas Eve. After recently moving to Parra, you would THINK I would be safe in the knowledge I would have FULL service- but of course not. Leaving my parents place about 20 mins away- I had absolutely No Service with that now irritating "Network Lost" message showing. Across 6-7 different postcodes along the way down Woodville Rd to Parramatta, and in dead centre Parramatta- I had No Service, on the one day of the year where friends and family members were trying to contact me, and me needing to contact them.
I've had it with them. I called them up, and of course, after being told on the phone that they would call me back after 30 mins- (wayyy over an hour later) I spoke to a woman. I was FUMING! She had the nerve to ask me if I had turned my phone off, like I was a complete moron. It was the first thing I did! And her suggestion that I switch the phone to 2G... I told her where to stick that idea. I pay for a 3G connection. I even pay for an extra internet package that gives me 6GIGS of data a month. I couldn't access ANYTHING or call ANYONE.. and you know what she tells me? That I need a "new" SIM card.. like it's MY fault... Only she was a bit stumped when I told her I had a new SIM given to me in February. So of course, I now have to go and get a "new and blank" SIM to try and see if that works. She actually didn't really have much to say except advise me to go to a vodafone store and get a new SIM.
I didn't sign up on a 24 month contract (with the phone) and the 12 month contract (Internet Data) to have a glorified iPod touch! If I wanted that, I would have bought the iPod.
I made the woman also make a record on my file that if this happens again, as they cannot provide me with the service that I signed up for, they have voided my contract and I will be taking my business elsewhere.
I'm so angry at this, and all the apologies from the company. I want the problems fixed or give us all an out or pay all of our bills until the service is fixed.

Ringing each other is an absolute joke we forever get Connection Error, it drops out or it just goes stright to message bank. We have both rang vodafone and complained about this on numerous occassions and are told the same thing each time and that is "well there is a good service in your area so we dont know what could be the problem" Come on vodafone im sick of paying for a service that is crap let me out of my contract so i can go to another server who actually cares.

I rang vodafone 6 months ago to cancel my late husbands phone account. They advised me to fax them a copy of the death certificate and it would immediatley be cancelled. When I received the next bill in the mail, I called again. They advised they hadn't received the paperwork and to please send it again and promised to call me back to confirm they had received it. Well, this happended 2 more times. I am still receiving the bills and warning notices threatening legal action. How many times do they want me to ring up and goes over the heart wrenching story of my husband dying and trying to cancel the account??? Where are their manors, their hearts and their proffessionalism.

I don't get any coverage in my office building in Pyrmont (unless I walk to one of the windows and hold my phone a certain way while standing on one foot!). I have been receiving voicemail messages days after they have been left. All up, I have wasted at least 6 hours of my life on hold and with these jokers and after finally getting through I was told they couldn't process my cancellation as they would need to open an investigation. The investigation took another 2 weeks and didn't improve my service so I called again to cancel but got my bestie (Lara) instead. She asked for the reason for my call and then told me the wait was more than 30mins so I decided to take her up on her kind offer of returning my call as she assured me I would not lose my place in the queue... I left my message at 5:55pm on 22/12/10 and they were nice enough to call me back at 12:10am on 23/12/10. But not before having a recorded message telling me someone would be able to assist in MY CALL in a moment!?! FAIL!!!
When someone finally got on the line, they told me their cancellation dept was closed and I would need to call them back...I then may have become a little frustrated and yelled...I mean asked whether they knew what time it was in Australia? ..They didn't but when I told them, they thoughtfully explained "at least you will be able to sleep well after this call"????? WTF????
Suffice to say, I am now with Telstra...Vodafone can chase me for once...

You actually CAN get out of your contract if the reception in your area is non optimal/genuinely poor. It's in your contract. Call customer care, SAY: LOYALTY and hold your horses. There are a few procedures that you need to go through, yes. That is the standard with any contract. Most customer care representatives will ask that you perform a sim swap and an isolation test before allowing you to cancel to confirm that reception IS the issue. Get these done before you call; just go into your local store and any knowledgeable staff will know what they are. If you're not happy, then get educated on the fine print and leave.

28 Dec 2010 05:43:27 PM: * Standard repair time is 7-10 working days. We OFTEN receive handsets back from repair within this time period. If not, then the handset has been dispatched forward to the manufacturer as parts needed to be ordered. This can't be helped. If the repair centre does not have the necessary parts to repair your handset, then the order and receipt of them will take extra time. The staff member you were served by should have told you that.

*As for your bill, often the bills are generated before a credit is applied. If you know the amount for which you were credited then all you need to pay is $106 - that amount. If you have been credited the full amount, then you will not need to pay anything. Head into a store (a different one.. lol) and get them to check your account. There will be notes on the account informing of the applied credit if you feel you need to confirm this.

I have been trying to upgrade My phone and Vodafone have been out of stock of the phone I want. Iphone4. I am currently using another phone and the battery life dies after only a few hours. As I am a Supervisor for an airline I NEED to have reliable phone. I have been waiting for an upgrade IPHONE 4 for months, going into stores all over Sydney to be told they are always out of stock. I was told last week they are no longer doing upgrades in store but through customer care. I ordered the phone 2 weeks ago. I bit the bullet and ordered a new contract 2 days ago. with my partner also needing a phone I bought a new phone for myself and expect to give the upgrade which is ordered to my partner. I tried to port the number yesterday at the store (EASTGARDENS NSW) and they told me this had to be done with customer care. I rang yesterday afternoon around 4, and was initially told this was not possible and to go back to the store. I was also told that my old SIM number for XXXXXXXXXX could not be ported to the NEW SIM (MICROSIM) as they could not do this why the account was in upgrade and waiting for the new IPHONE. I spent approx 4 hours yesterday being transferred between the activation team, customer care and accounts DEPT.
I was promised a call back today to resolve this. I had not received a call back by 1pm (28/12/10) so I rang Vodafone. Again I was transferred between depts, after a few hours spoke to a gentleman who told me to break the silicon of the old sim card, and just insert the chip into the IPHONE4 and this would allow me to at least use the old phone. I did this and it worked.
I also tried to PORT my partners number to my old account (with his number and also a vodafone account. which I was told was done. This is yet to be done.
I am currenytly on hold to customer care, and been waiting 2 hours on hold. Which I find totally unacceptable. Then to be told the porting dept is closed. And HUNG UP ON WTF.
I want to return the phone I purchased yesterday, cancel the upgrade and port the numbers to TELSTRA. I cannot and WILL not accept that I have to continually ring vodafone to fix this issue, as explained I work for an airline as does my partner and we are away from home and under work requirements need access to a reliable service using a reliable handset. We are both on $79+ plans.

When I send sms messages it can take up to 12 hours for them to be received. I can be talking to someone and my whole phone will shut down and 3 minutes later will turn back on. I have been a customer of vodaphone for over 5 years and stuck with them because they said 2010 was the year of upgraded coverage. When I resigned and they showed me the coverage map I was impressed, but it has not been true and I have no coverage in the place that they said would be the best. I have rung them and they told me that it was my i-phone and to hold down the button on top and the cirlce button (if that makes sense) together to reboot the phone. It doesnt make any difference. I have had no problem with the service of employees with vodaphone as they have always been helpful and compassionate. The problem is bigger than the people manning the phones. They can only do and say what they are instructed. Thankyou

Had a BlackBerry 9700 (contact signed in May 2010) that was having constant dropouts from day one. Had the phone swapped, repaired etc. without success. The Vodafone store I bought the phone at were helpful, however it was Vodafone themselves that have dropped the ball.
I have had situations were I have missed calls during a period where I was seeking employment, was trying to sell my car and when my wife locked herself out of the house. I was receiving constant SMS voicemail alerts for calls I know I didn't receive and was unable to make calls even while I (apparently) had 5 bars of 3G service. Changed the mobile options to 2G/3G, reset the phone to factory default settings, restarted the phone, did diagnostic tests without success. This is despit the fact I live in Sydney's Iner West and work on the 15th floor of an office building in the dead centre (Town Hall) of the Sydney CBD. I was used to the service dropping out to SOS in exactly the same spots every day on my morning ferry ride into the city.
After repeatedly calling their 1555 number and spending an hour or more on hold, I lost patience and complained to the TIO, who in turned followed up with Vodafone. Vodafone's TIO department called a few days later and offered me a BlackBerry Torch 9800 at no cost as a replacement. As I have been a Vodafone for 15 years I wanted to gve them the benefit of the doubt and offer a chance to redeem themselves. The replacement phone was ordered by Vodafone's TIO department on December 2 and I was told it would be here within 10 working days.
A week later I called to check on the progress as I simply didn't trust them and was told again that the order was placed and I should call back within a few days if I hadn't seen the phone. 12 working days later and with no phone, I called to see where it was and was told that it was on back order and I should get the phone sometime in January. I lost it and told them that the phone was in stock when I called in early December and that I was not hanging up until they located one. Mysteriously my phone arrived the next day. While the calls are marginally better, they are still not good enough. I put the improvement down to the 9800's superior reception not their network.

7045 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is It's Megafail! at 28 Dec 2010 05:16:53 PM
I am paying for ADSL2 but am receiving worse service than my old dial-up network. I also experience constant dropouts with the Internet and it often takes two or three attempts to get connected. Forget downloads it takes me up to 5 minutes to open an email! Worse still I constantly have my phone reading " searching" and my device constantly drops out. It's meant to be 3G but I'm not getting what I'm paying for. I'm currently waiting for a call back and that was over a week ago!! The last time I spoke to someone about my Internet I wasn't even talking with someone who lived in Australia and the last time I spoke to someone about my phone service they had me on hold for 45 minutes and then couldn't help me and had the audacity to send me a questionaire via email ( which I couldn't bloody open)
I have threatened not to pay my bills but then I'd have creditors chasing me!

7044 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is incoming call restriction at 28 Dec 2010 05:16:51 PM
when i was in Auckland, i called back to my wife's mobile, which the service provider is vodofone, i got message say "there is incoming call restriction".
I was shocked that my wife had publish this mobile number on Internet for her oversea client to call back. So far we did not receive any phone call from oversea.
I don't know if any one had experience similar things.

7035 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Drop out/No service coverage at 28 Dec 2010 05:15:02 PM
My phone continuosly drops in and out of service. Goes from 4 bars to no bars and I don't even move from where I am standing. The amount of 30c re call backs fees I am charged per day would be definently adding up. I too have been on hold to vodafail (I mean vodafone?) for hours on end, one call was 5 hours of being pushed between departments and told by their customer service people to calm down and not be angry or rude to them - How long is a person to remain patient for???

I am sick of no coverage, drop out calls, can't get through when I do call, text messages coming through hours later sometimes next day, also I have been a customer for 17 years and expect better, plus I can't get throught to them to complain and to get ou of my contract so that I can switch carrier

I am sick of Drop outs... I have had problem after problem since i joined Vodafone, my calls drop out all the time, i get so angry and blame the phone but clearly it is vodafone that is the problem. I have direct debit set up and they cant even get that right. Payments go out late and if there is a problem with the card not going through they carge you a fee and they dont even ring you. Vodafone has the worst customer service i have ever experienced and once my contract is finished i am leaving vodafone and joining a better service. Its not fare that we get locked into a contract that does not meet its standards. If you are unhappy with the service and product then it should be you can get out of it. Vodafone truly sucks!
7029 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Disappointing at 28 Dec 2010 05:14:14 PM
Just joined up for the infinite 45 cap for 24mths with a htc and nearly finished one month of the 24. Only used 1% of the internet data because of the lack of/no reception and text msgs dont always send. Never can get calls inside my house and I've got job calls I'm missing out from
