Dear visitor,

Since its inception Vodafail.com has made a significant contribution towards raising awareness of the problems and issues faced by Vodafone customers.

Vodafone Australia customers have had the opportunity to voice their concerns, their fears and their troubles from every corner of Australia and beyond our borders. You have gathered the courage to stand up for your rights as consumers and to make your voice heard.

Each and every person who shared their story should have a sense of pride in this achievement and the changes that have occurred since the start of Vodafail.com.

More recently, traffic to Vodafail.com has declined significantly. Having achieved the goal of raising awareness and promoting concrete action in early 2011, we have now reached the point of closing Vodafail to new complaints. The site will remain online for as long as possible as a reminder and an example of what is possible when we share our experiences.

It has been a privilege to run this initiative and I'm am forever grateful for the help and support I've received. In particular I would like to thank Melissa, David and Travis for their continued efforts over the past 15 months. I'm also thankful and humbled by the support of ACCAN, Choice magazine and a wide range of media outlets, blogs and websites.

You can still browse existing stories and find out how to file a complaint if you are experiencing problems.

Until next time,

Adam Brimo

7679 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is EXTREME!!! at 28 Dec 2010 08:13:08 PM
After I switched to vodafone on the 2nd June 2010 I have experienced nothing but trouble. My family and I were going back to WA for a holiday, so I was suppose to be entering into a contract where i would receive good coverage. They told me it would be 98% everywhere, what a joke. The phone dropped in and out, messages were being received anywhere from 1-5 hours later, not to mention the next day. Phone calls were missed, unable to be made or I would have to try again later as my service just dropped in and out. All this for $69 a month, I honestly thought this could be fixed. How wrong could I have been. It has been such a joke really, they have asked me to remove my sim card and try it in another Vodafone on numerous occasions, told me it was the iphone, told me any thing, but it would always come back to being my fault. They would tell me they would have a Tech Support Officer call me, when, in 2015. The amount of phone calls that i have made since taking this contract is ridiculous. The straw that broke the camels back was the beginning of April this year when my 15yr son broke his ankle at school at 10am. After the school had been trying to contact me for hours, I finally recieved the first message 5 hours after the incident, REALLY GLAD IT WASN'T LIFE THREATENING!!! My argument since has been, what if something worse had happened to one of my children or husband, now I really do know that I am only a number to this company. Vodafone still did NOTHING about the problems after this "No Service". Phone continually comes up with "Service Lost - Vodafone no longer your provider" this is something I seemed to have got use to,WRONG.. I rang Vodafone on the 22nd Dec 2010 and was on the phone for over 2hrs, lucky I rang from my land line or it would have been a waste of time (mobile would have dropped out). The Tech Support guy gave me a case ID and told me he would call back on the 24th Dec 2010. During this time, I was to once again record all details of phone calls made and received as well as texting. If I still experienced the same problems when he called back, then they would waive my contract and my next bill. Remember $69 a month since June 2009, and my payout figure is now $372.
Vodafone did text me on the 24 Dec 2010, but I could not call the 1555 number as funny, I didn't have service, why send you this ridiculous number when you can only call it from your Vodaphone account, well you can only do this if you have service right!! Christmas Day no service, Boxing Day no service, 27th no service 28th today guess what Service has done nothing but drop in and out still can't do a dam thing. Have just got of the phone from Tech Support and after 18months of this am now finally getting somewhere. They will now wave my next bill and my payout figure, but I had to return my Iphone after 18 months of paying $69 a month for a service that very very rarely worked.
When i refused and told them that i would take it further (courts), they relented and came back to me and told me I could now keep the iphone and that they will cancel the contract and waive all bills.
No, I'm not holding my breathe just yet, we will wait and see if Vodafone will keep their word. I will, in the mean time keep my phone and find myself another provider.

7678 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is MASSIVE FAIL at 28 Dec 2010 08:13:08 PM
I live in NSW and work in ACT. At any time in either place I am lucky to have 1 bar of reception on my phone. It constantly drops out of service and I can't make or receive phone calls. I have only had this new phone and contract for two months, I am locked in for another 22 months. I wish I never signed up to the contract.

MASSIVE FAIL VODAFONE!!!!!!!!!

I have been wrongly billed by Vodafone. I paid my last months bill on time at the post office. This month I received a new bill from Vodafone with overdue fees of 20$ whacked on top of a 29$ cap contract, asking me to pay the allegedly unpaid bill again. I have tried to contact Vodafone to sort this out, but they make me wait on hold and never pick up the phone. I also emailed this problem to Vodafone, so far it has been four days and no reply. The longest I have had the patience to wait on hold on 1555 is about 45 minutes, then I hang up. This happened a couple of times. The number 1555 is supposed to be for free for Vodafone customers, yet my bill showed 60$ fee for these calls altogether. In addition, I was told by three Vodafone agents that my phone will work in Ireland, but when I arrived there, it did not work. I complained about this to Vodafone, and the reply I got was: "You were advised by our agent, that your phone would not work in Ireland". This was a blatant lie, but I did not pursue the matter. Vodafone is a handful. Thanks for listening!

The same as everyone else.......... phone drops out low battery life and poor data. I have four phones that do this and it is so frustrating as i have to explain to clients if my phone drops out I will return your call. From this point forward I will be saying,,,,,,, please accept my apoligies now my phone my drop out but I am with vodafone and working on getting changed over to Optus. I also have two broadband USBs and in the middle of a presentation it kept dropping out again really embarrassing for business!!! So how long before we get better service or a resolution to move over to Optus?? vodafone certainly are not standing up to their end of the contract...............

7673 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Extremely at 28 Dec 2010 08:12:08 PM
I have had two contracts with Vodafone, granted my first phone i had difficulties with and needed to replace (after paying my insurance i opted to pay the $275 excess) On my second contract my software stooped, i took this into the store and they openly told me this was a falut of the phone relating to software but the fact i'd had a previous claim (on my first phone) that i would now be up for a higher excess... How is this possible when this was not through my misuse of the phone. The only other option they gave me was to pay out my contract. I found this extremely poor for Vodafone to not find a solution when in fact the fault did not lay with the customer but with the phone itself. This was aprrox 8 months ago, i am now having to use a back up phone (i am still paying a contract for a phone i can not even use) and i still have another 6 months left. Go figure... The past six months the reception is getting worse and worse, i could not even get one bar of reception on my phone and i was in Bourke St Melbourne in the middle of the city, this happens all the time. I will not be using them in the future, once this contract is up i will seek alternative providers. I can not seem to get any help to resolve it. Often i have to keep turning my phone on and off just so that i can get a message to send, very unhappy...

7672 Someone from WA thinks vodafone is And they charge me for this... at 28 Dec 2010 08:11:01 PM
Well for over 10 years i have been reporting a black spot around the Uni of WA driving into the city and back. I have repeatedly complained about voicemail messages that have been received days (yes days sometime weeks) after they had been left by callers to me. I have complained that the time stamp on voicemail is East Coast based. Basically i have nothing to report other than complains to Vodafone - they are certainly happy to charge for this lack of service and when you call for any of these issues and report them you are told "sorry it's a software error" that is either being worked on or can't be fixed - can't be fixed what a bloody joke!. Regular dropout of calls and data connections. Mobile dongles that don't work with/support Windows 7 out of the box and when you call them you are told oh you simply download software - NOT IF YOU CAN INSTALL the bloody modem in the first place....

I could go on and on... I would move to Telstra tomorrow given the option to get out of my contract.

7671 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is total failure in everything at 28 Dec 2010 08:10:31 PM
I am on pre-paid. Use the mobile infrequently. The reception is very poor, many missed calls & txt messages hours & even days late. Customer support by phone is impossible. Vodafone used to send reminder txt when time on pre-pay ending to make further payment. Doesn't happen anymore. Have missed a couple of payments and have lost all $ and call credits. Last November forgot to pay within the 60 days and Vodafone cancelled all credits and then made unauthorised payment from my credit card for $100 the next day, have been unable to make contact with Vodafone to make complaint. Am about to change service provider and will never use Vodafone again.

7670 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is total disaster at 28 Dec 2010 08:10:02 PM
On the day that Julia Gillard became Prime Minister I spent 2 hours on hold trying to get through on a land line as I had no mobile reception. I am a real estate agent so having no phone means I can't make money. Since the start of December my phone reception has been dropping out but 2 weeks ago I spent 2 days with no phone reception at all, the worst thing was it took me a day to realise my phone wasn't on, it looked on and was on, just no calls getting through. Then my grandma took ill and had days to live and I found out 24hrs later as I wasn't getting any calls, not even texts. Now if I send a text i get 2 and every 2nd text sent out seems to work. Vodafone have grown too big and can not maintain their service, it is totally unacceptable.

There is absolutely no coverage in Illawong where I work. You have to stand in a certain spot to get any signal then you can't be heard anyway. I have to use a 2nd phone with Optus to call or text. What a waste of $49pm. Been outting up with this for over 2 years.

Used to be able to send picture messages on an old Nokia. Upgrade to a HTC and it's a no go in Katherine but worked in Darwin. Until it stopped working in Darwin. And wouldn't work in Brisbane or the Gold Coast. 2 emails sent, finally got a reply to call technical service. They hung up on me after 45 mins, called to complain, funnily enough they never answered. Seriously, how hard can it be?

First is a $50 per month wireless broadband contract - will not work in Hobart city half the time, the biggest city in Tasmania. I've had to resort to my Telstra prepaid stick which is $100/month for less download capacity.

Phone coverage is patchy, but recently completely hopeless in Sandy Bay. At least it works where I work, and it means people can't contact me at home I guess - but I'm not paying for that "privilege".

Both my partener and my own phones keep dropping out unexpectedly and the reception is marginal at best, regularly. I have phoned vodafone regarding theses issues and have not recieved a response as I was totally frustrated with the wait time for a response.
Considering I have been a Vodafone customer for in excess of 10 years, there infrastructure has not kept a breast of growth or technalogical advancement.
Anyone can sponsor a team from formula 1 to cricket, surely sponsorship is based on the results achieved not promised! Should one of these teams let vodafone down I'm sure Vodafone would "pull" sponsorship! Likewise applies here I will be "pulling" my support of Vodafone ie close my account based on there performance.

After their last change in billing system, my account was being sent with incorrect details. It took me 18 months to try and resolve this issue. They kept saying that the next bill would be correct, but no it wasn't. They have the poorest customer service that I have ever seen in a Telco company. I also have problems with me phone dropping out, was only 200 metres away from the tower and my phone took a total of 15mins to download a 256kb program...

i am so ridiculously sick of text messages not leaving my phone. Thinking that an important message has been sent, then realising hours later it has never been sent is so frustrating! I have called vodafone so many times to resolve the general issues of text messages not being sent, internet never loading and calls dropping out. I was told that it must be the area where i live... thats ok, but does the rest of the Metropolitian gold coast suffer these issues??? I live in the middle of Southport! I hate vodafone and cannot wait until 8 September, 2011... NEW CONTRACT!!

7656 Someone from WA thinks vodafone is TOTAL FAILURE at 28 Dec 2010 07:59:44 PM
I used to have full service at work and home. I now have 1 bar service (no 3g) in the CBD, and i have either no service or 1 bar, living 15mins out of the city..

I have spent probably close to 6 hours on the phone (on hold) to Vodafone in the last few weeks.
Even after the Vodafone guy came out and admitted to the network issues, the tech support
people continued to tell me there is no network issue, and it is my phone.
I then read out the press release to the CSO who then hung up on me!

*On Sunday a friend sent me a picture message around 12 midday. I received it today at 8am*

I currently have a case in with the TIO (who have passed the 10 day deadline), and i doubt i will get the resolution i require... out of my contract with no cost. I do want to keep my iphone4... if i DO need to send it back, fine, but i dunno what good a used phone will do for them....

Also, I have been with Vodafone for about 10 years now, and in the past never had many problems with them other than some stupid billing ones, but since the merger, i cannot believe how fast their decline has been.

I would have to say I have the same usual problems as everyone else. What upsets me the most is the complete lack of help/information from voda. I have been into Voda store when nearly the entire central coast of NSW had no 3G service and all they could say was turn 3G off. Even store staff weren't told if there was a problem or when it would be fixed. Problems still persist with network and I have had several of my friends successfully void there contracts but I can not find the continual time and patience to fight them. Voda doesn't return calls even after I requested a technical investigation. How can I not be p$&)?d off?????

I have been a Vodafone customer for more than 6 years. The recent service provided by vodafone has been very poor. As a business owner I use my mobile as a very important work tool and it is constantly letting me down with line drop outs, poor to non existent reception, delayed text & voice messages - upto a week old on one occasion. As a customer with 3 phone plans with Vodafone I now believe that they are not fulfilling their part of the contract and although in the past I have enjoyed their services it is now costing me money. I will need to get out of the plans and seek a provider that provides a full service... Signed .... unhappy Jan

28 Dec 2010 08:55:46 PM: Yeah, but have you had to call customer service at all in the past 3-4 months?! I know they used to answer immediately, but you should now be prepared to wait on hold for over 45 mins.
I too was the most loyal Voda customer after having been with them for around 10 years... Always bragging to friends on other networks just how great Voda were. Until trying to reach them on 1555 over the past few months. After I eventually got through to a human, the customer service rep confirmed my worst fear... The call centre is now 100 percent in India. So you should now be prepared for bureaucracy, blaming the customer, not understanding Australian consumer protection laws nor the importance of the TIO and be prepared for them to not actually record notes on your file that you may need to rely on in future.
The service provided by Voda reps now goes against everything I thought Voda once stood for.
Cost cutting is pointless if you have no customers left.

So yeah, I can understand why you love Voda. I just hope that you dont need assistance from them, ever... As you may find they don't love you anymore.

I have Vodafone Prepaid Mobile Broadband, and the reception is terrible. I live near the shops in my city, so you would think that i would get good reception, but only get 1 bar of 3G on a bright sunny day. Yes thats a good speed for me, but most days it drops out, takes ages to find reception, and whenever it rains, the 3G slows down to GPRS, therefore i have dial-up speeds. Very unreliable. Late november, i had between 1 Gig to 1.5 Gigs of Data left in my account before expiry and it was taken off me for no reason, i know i couldn't have used 1.5 Gigs in less than 5 days. Disappointed with Vodafone, as i have been a customer for almost 2 years, i will be going with Optus or Telstra (despite the hefty prices) when my next lot of credit runs out.

I'm on a $40 month by month usb internet plan (10gb), which has been ok regarding reception (most of the time) and the bill has been $40 month, until this month. I nearly fell over when I got a $163 bill. Thought I was only allowed 10gb and was sure thats all I used as the notification to let me know I'm getting close to my limit never popped up. How can they charge $163 for a $40 plan. Vodafone, you lost my vote, and my business...
28 Dec 2010 08:14:17 PM: thats not a vodaphone problem. All phone companies have the same basic billing system, if you go over your cap you have to pay extra. It's not there problem that you dont understand that or go over the amount you where meant to use.
29 Dec 2010 04:17:52 PM: if you exceed ur data limit, you pay the extra youve used..u have access to your data balance ..it is ur fault for not keeping an eye on what ur using..NOT VODAFONE'S FAULT ...geeeezzz

Calls continually drop out, messages are nearly always delayed or don't turn up at all but I still get charged for sending them. If I drive 5 minutes out of town there is no reception. I was told that Vodafone has the best coverage of all the major highways in Australia... Just as long as you don't want to drive any further west than Warrnambool. Lucky me, I still has 20months left of this useless contract.

I have been experiencing all these issues for nearly 12months now and I have been on the phone to them at one stage nearly every second day until I had enough and went to the telephone communications ombudsmen which even then this still has fix my issue except I am now not on a contract with them. I am still having the same issues like phone reception, messages taking ages to come through, voicemail massages coming through when my phone didnt even ring, 3G service keeps cutting in and out and not being able to make calls even after you have just made one and the only way to fix it is to reset network settings or put phone in airplane mode and then turn it off again then it works. This has seriously been happen since about Feb2010 for me and I have been on the phone to vodafone many times even with staff hanging up on me cause they cant fix my problem and wont listen. I have even gone and swapped my Iphone as they kept blaming the phone even though I knew it wasnt the phone as I travel OS alot and my phone works fine in another country on another network.

I am on the $99 unlimited calls & 3 gig data plan.

However 1 in 3 calls dropout, text messages are constantly late (sometimes up to 2 days) & data is pretty much nonexistent as I constantly get 'connection timed out' messages while trying to access basic sites like facebook. I don't even bother trying to stream a videos on YouTube anymore because it just can't do it let alone consuming my monthly 3 gig capacity.

I have seen friends phones on other networks (in particular Telstra) and all functionality runs smoothly as it should.

This site is great & hopefully vodafone will finally give it's customers what they are paying for.

Vodafone you are rubbish.

7633 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is permenantly on hold at 28 Dec 2010 07:51:48 PM
The week before Christmas my mobile was stolen while I was in Manila. It took 3 hours and multiple calls before I could finally get through to customer care & report the theft. 3 hours is long time no matter where you are but a particularly expensive one when you're overseas (and the thief is making the most of it!).
After almost 13 years and countless issues I had had enough. I called them when I got home to lodge a complaint & cancel my contract, only to be told my call could not be taken. I had to call again and again to finally get through to leave my phone number for them to call me back. After an hour and a half they finally returned my call. I stood my ground, telling them I wanted to cancel my contract immediately. I refused to pay any penalties even though I still had 7 months left under contract. After 13 years the least they could do was give me my freedom.
I have to admit that up until 2 years ago I was happy enough with the service to overlook the reception issues. I'm now with iPrimus and can't tell you how good it is to talk to someone in Australia whenever I need service. I'll never use Vodafone again!

My husband and I signed up with vodafone about six months ago. About three months into our contract, we started having email problems. Our email account was with telstra yet out phone account for the mobiles were with vodafone. No one could or would assist us in resolving out 'cannot send your email, a copy has been placed in your outbox' issue. We then had issues with our voicemails not being received for some 24 hours. Most recent issue, about 3 days ago relates to text msgs. Msgs I send may not turn up for several hours, days or just not at all. Very frustrating considering we are on a two year contract. We WILL NOT be staying or recommending vodafone to anyone.

At sign up I was ensured that coverage was excellent in my area (4573). Text messages sent are delayed by hours, pics at least 5 hours to receive.

Well I was a 3 customer & was with them for Over 6 years and in that time I never had an issue..! When 3 merged with vodaphone I started to notice that I had minimal reception, constantly my phone was "searching" or had this little circle at the top or it was roaming and I was paying for when it went to roaming, 90% of my phone calls dropped out & in my new contract I was paying and extra $10 a month to get 2gb of data and guess what? In the 6 months I had my new contract I only used 2 gb because I couldn't get any sort of signal apart from when it was roaming..! I got so angry because I was paying for a service they could not even provide me with.!
I'm now with telstra, never ever thought I would go to them but I'm getting what I'm paying for..!

Has happened with both iPhone 3GS and HTC Nexus one.

MMS take soooo long to send, and sometimes people receive them 5-10 hrs later. WTF?!? 3G data...its a lottery! Sometimes its super fast and sometimes there is nothing. Voda are such battlers.

Constant dropping out of network coverage and receiving text messages in bulk or days later than when they had been sent even. Drop outs, delays in receiving msgs, connection errors, people not being able to get me in city areas and they blamed it on the phones. We had all phones sent back and nothing could be found wrong with them, except blackbery replaced one phone. I am sick of paying for a service that is not reliable and they don't want to do much about it. The worst part of it all is that I went into a Telstra shop to look at getting a prepaid phone to use also and they staff member told me that telstra didnot renew their contract with vodafone for the use of their towers. So much for a problem with their software. More like that they don't have enough towers in areas to keep up with the service they want to supply

To the original poster, we have the same concerns as well, which is why we have put up the forum rules and we are just swamped with moderating this site at the moment. People commenting on twitter however are beyond our control. We appreciate your understanding as well. - Vodafail Team
28 Dec 2010 07:42:50 PM: They might be putting a lot of money in to fix it but how much is it costing the brand, the customers and how long will it take? Clearly Vodafone failed to anticipate the demands 3g would place on the network and it is now well behind. Not exactly the best time to be advertising ever more generous download limits and pricing. Fix the problems first before you encourage more customers who will simply become disgruntled and angry.
28 Dec 2010 07:45:57 PM: Vodafone should shut it's stores until it can provide service
28 Dec 2010 07:48:15 PM: You really think thats a solution ahahah
How would shutting the stores help dude??
28 Dec 2010 07:51:44 PM: So you know there is a problem! That is why this blog exists, because Voda and its some of its staff are knowingly selling a product that has issues (your words). If I did that in my industry, people would die! Potential trade practise issue?? Hmmm. Pumping a lot of money in to fix a problem? What problem is that pray tell.
28 Dec 2010 07:56:29 PM: this post is 100 percent correct
28 Dec 2010 08:09:22 PM: in reply to post 09:51:44 PM:
Yeah there is a drop out problem... its there with all companies... and yeah i agree thats why the blog exists but my point is be respectful about what you say unlike the comment i copied in the original post.
And no its not the case of knowingly selling a product with issues,,, many customers do face this problem but on the other hand many dont... the network does get overloaded at certain times... but its a problem that it is being worked on...
28 Dec 2010 08:12:20 PM: People may have died already, using vodafone to call emergency services
28 Dec 2010 08:27:57 PM: Obviously there is a problem & obviously Vodaphone is now going into damage control. Vodaphone are probably even spending some money on it - NOW. I wonder though, is Vodaphone spending anywhere near the amount of money that it has recieved from customers on monthly plans (that have had to continue paying their bills)for a service that either doesn't work, or is so unreliable that it is just a complete rip off.
28 Dec 2010 08:28:28 PM: In reply to the original post - first vodafone decided that t can screw up its clients, next thing they ask to have mercy and be patient and respectful. The attitude that vodafone is having from the clients is the reflection of their frustration and anger - instead of begging to be civilized - you'd better keep your mouth shut, roll the sleeves up and show that you can make things better. Do not bring up the rubbish about your resellers - they sell your service the way you portray it and the way you want it to be portrayed - it is essentially vodafone who put the resellers in this situation - if vodafone cares - they should pull the finger out of their backdoor and treat the clients and partners with respect and fix the hangups...
28 Dec 2010 08:30:33 PM: Obviously there is a problem & obviously Vodaphone is now going into damage control.
28 Dec 2010 09:04:42 PM: vodafone just spend too much of their time and money on promoting themselves. they need to start looking after the customers they have before they lose everyone.
28 Dec 2010 09:14:45 PM: Besides, people are generally reflecting those comments at the Company.. Not the individuals. It's not until those individuals show the same level of disconcern and rudeness that it will be returned by your customer - after all a customer selects one service provider over another for a reason. They're not gonna start hating on the company unless the company pisses them off.

Less than 3 weeks ago I entered a contract with Vodafone for an iPhone which, to function on the internet, requires a 3G signal or wireless connection. Every day for these past weeks I have rarely experienced the joy of a received phonecall because I haven't had more than one bar of reception. The wireless, which shouldn't be the problem drops out, seemingly indicating that the connection does not exist. I have checked whether this is the problem and have discovered that it is not because friends on a different service with the same phone are able to connect without trouble. I can rarely send texts or mms, they continuously fail. I have 6 downloaded apps because it won't stay connected to the internet long enough to install. Is this just me?

Have been with Vodafone for 10 years now, and there service in the last 2 years has been shocking. Calls constantly dropping out, text messages being received 24hrs later, mobile signal forever bouncing around and more often than not having no signal at all.
The first time I called Vodafone about the delayed text messages, the man told me to send a message to myself (which I did and this worked ok), so therefore it was not a Vodafone problem. Rubbish.
I then called again about the calls constantly dropping out and lady told me it could just be a faulty sim card, so go to a store and get replacement. Haha...made no difference at all, calls continue to drop out even with new sim card.
The most frustrating part of all is Vodafone not being honest and saying that their mobile service is not work properly. Don't waste my time making up stories and giving me the run around.

This website and its creators are an absolute disgrace. Can anyone honestly tell me they get better service and value from any other network. It is such a relief to have a viable alternative to the monopoly offered from Telstra and Optus, yet it is clear by the obvious advertising on this site that these companies are interested in defaming their competitors. This post will not be popular but before you fire off your frustrated views ask yourself 'do you want to give Telstra and Optus (two companies who have screwed their customers for years) more power in the industry.
28 Dec 2010 07:35:44 PM: I hear you man!
28 Dec 2010 07:45:56 PM: OI someone from Mexico. Basically Vodafone suck. Ive learnt a few things from this Voda debacle. ONLY sign 12 month contracts and switch providers each time. Voda you lose baby.
28 Dec 2010 07:49:18 PM: Bottom line : Vodafone can not provide a service for what they charge.
28 Dec 2010 11:10:16 PM: Vodaphone are obviously going through some of the same issues that Optus had a little while back, overselling on their network, in other words putting more customers on the network with plans that have usage patterns that the network can not handle. I have used Telstra and get coverage everywhere I have been with the exception of the odd spot way out in the bush. Several of my friends and work mates are on Vodaphone and it is quite common that I can not call them or text them so although I do not use Vodaphone my self I call many who do and many calls to these phones fail.

7594 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Poor to no coverage at 28 Dec 2010 07:25:31 PM
I get one bar in the front of the house and no coverage at the back and I live in the second largest city in Victoria, Geelong. Just traveling 15 minutes by car out of Geelong away from Melbourne, there is no coverage. And if I go to any part of Gippsland (east of Melbourne) the same result - NO COVERAGE!

Thank you for taking up the cause. Myself, I am waiting for March when all of my plans expire. Then it will be my utmost pleasure to subscribe to a network who will deliver consistent coverage, not drop out and then come up with a multitude of excuses as to why. Oh and of course, the nearly a month wait but not quite so they don't have to refund you. Vodafone, you truly are rubbish.

7592 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Internet at 28 Dec 2010 07:24:06 PM
I am no longer in a mess because I was able to be released from my contract. I was having trouble using the internet. I dreaded ringing customer care and having to answer the same questions over and over again. The situation was ridiculous I would be trying to bid on Ebay and experienced service interruptions when I was trying to bid. I was given free access for three months. The company knew that there was a capacity problem in my area. I was then able to terminate my contract at the end of three month period because I was unhappy with the service. The final problem that cause me to lose confidence in the company was when I was unable to access the internet and technical support came to the conclusion that it was my SIM card at fault and arranged for me to replace my SIM card. The next day I had no problems connecting to the internet even though I had not replaced the SIM card. I still receive a monthly 1 cent internet bill from the company. I will not pay the bill because it will cost me more to pay it. It is possible that I will incur a charge for paying that bill and continue to be billed by the company.
The only good plan that Vodafone offers is the 365 day prepaid plan because the phone that I use it in is only used for receiving calls.

7591 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Absurdly at 28 Dec 2010 07:23:57 PM
Since signing up to a 2 year contract 2 weeks ago I have been unable to get anything close to network service in the Eltham area. The phone says I have full reception yet I cannot make calls or use mobile internet and txts can take up to an hour to come through after people send them. I also frequently get "message sending failed" notices when tryingo to reply...Ridiculous given Eltham is supposedly in Vodafone's 3G coverage area and I was explicitly told by staff that Eltham would be fine for coverage before signing up to this contract...Don't even get me started on the customer support...40 minutes on hold to be told somebody would call me back in another 40 minutes...Only to be called back 2 hours later from the wrong department and put on hold for another 30 minutes while they transferred me to the right department.

my blackberry cannot handle data. it will reset itself up to 10 times a day. i can be typing a text or on a phonecall and it will continuously reset and everytime it drains the battery everytime. and using data services is incredibly unreliable. the handset is only 12months old as they have had to replace it when the screen died after 7 months.

I was with 3 for approx 5 years and was very happy with the service when I was contacted by comms direct and offered a 'superior' deal with vodafone. During the first two months of being with Vodafone I made at least 50 calls to have certain billing and service terms brought in line with what was originally offered to me. After many hours on the phone I think I have now got all terms of my contract recorded correctly with vodafone but the service is still terrible and the network coverage is not even close to being as good as what I had with 3. Before signing up with Vodafone I made sure to check that the network would be as good as with 3. I was assured that it would be better. I beleived that claim because I had recently heard that Vodafone had acqquired 3 but unfortunately my coverage with Vodafone is not close to as good as it was with 3.

7586 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Getting worse at 28 Dec 2010 07:19:43 PM
Had been with vodafone for 7 odd years on a no plan cap, $79, and never went over. Calls started dropping out etc & when I got a bill for $242 about 6 months back, I complained. Said I needed a new plan as it would be cheaper, & a new phone for better coverage. Crap. Have sent new phone back, Nokia X6, & now using 4yr old Nokia. Reception better, but still drops out heaps & it's my work phone... Unless I can get out sooner, won't go with this Co. again after my contract is up. And yes, forget their "customer service" number. Useless

7583 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is completely failed at 28 Dec 2010 07:19:04 PM
Today I am unable to receive or make phone calls AT ALL from the Waterloo 2017 area. Texts take several attempts before they are successfully sent. I have experienced all of the problems everybody else has been experiencing over the last several months, and I have continually given VF the benefit of the doubt, expecting them to fix the issues, as they continually promise, because I have been such a long term customer. Today I had to get in the car and drive to another suburb to call their customer service line. Unfortunately my battery expired before they answered.

I would suggest they withdrawer advertising to attract new customers to an obviously failing network, and spend those dollars on fixing the problems once and for all.

FAR TOO LATE FOR ME THOUGH. GOODBYE VODAFONE

7582 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Unacceptable at 28 Dec 2010 07:18:31 PM
I want to upgrade my phone to an iphone 4 and I went into the store at Loganholme, waited 45 miutes to be seen to for them to turn around and palm me off to customer care via phone.

Then i call customer care, after 4 hang ups after chosing an option, to then wait 48 minutes for someone to tell me I could have done it through the store. I told them too bad, they can arrange it cause I have been stuffed around and they go to transfer me and I get hung up on. I wait another 5o minutes to get through to someone and tell them to call me back incase i get hung up on and they did however i wait for a further 54 minutes and noone had gotten to me. I am driving in my car at the time, and as per usual, my reception cuts out anyway. So I spent 3 hours waiting on the phone plus 45 minutes in store and still dont have an upgraded phone. I go to another store today, and suprise suprise, they tell me to go through customer care. I HAVE HAD ENOUGH! Wait until the next person gets to me cause they are in for a disgruntled customer of a lifetime.
28 Dec 2010 08:21:06 PM: Cool get hung up on again , great idea ....

Cost me at least $3360 for the contract. My husband lost thousands due to being on call and not able to receive calls into work

Having a Vodafone plan which I commenced in October 2010. I then travelled from Brisbane by car to Port Macquarie/Taree where I was unable to get any coverage; calls in or out or regular Txt messages resulting in an increased account. Upon returning to Brisbane I went to the Indooroopilly Vodafone office and a 'trainee' person who attended me was unable to provide any reasons for the problems I had experienced. I then went to Sydney to visit my daughter, who lives in Newtown -- again similar problems occurred. Upon my return to Brisbane, I went to the Vodafone office at Upper Mt Gravatt. I spoke with two people at this office, nothing was clearly explained to me again as to why I had no coverage in an inner-Sydney suburb, no calls were able to be received, made or again txt messages sent, some would be received butnot until some hours later. One of the Cutomer Services Assistants at this office said 'if you are in a brick building attempting to use the mobile, we have become aware of problems' -- obviously someone who has never been to Sydney. They did change my SIM card at this store as they said 'if the original SIM card is scratched it will cause problems'. I have so far paid Vodafone 5 to 6 times a month since October, more than I expected to be paying because of these problems.

7578 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is EXTREMELY at 28 Dec 2010 07:15:25 PM
I signed up for a $49 Cap plan that stated I was given unlimited national and international SMS. I rang Voda numerous times and asked about it, they said to show them the details that I had when I signed up, I provided proof and still 2 months in, nothing has happened.

I even emailed the support team and no response!

Very Disappointed!!!
