contribution towards raising awareness of the problems and issues faced
by Vodafone customers.
Vodafone Australia customers have had the opportunity to voice their concerns, their fears and their troubles from every corner of Australia and beyond our borders.
You have gathered the courage to stand up for your rights as consumers and to make your voice heard.
Each and every person who shared their story should have a sense of pride in this achievement and the changes that have occurred since the start of Vodafail.com.
More recently, traffic to Vodafail.com has declined significantly.
Having achieved the goal of raising awareness and promoting concrete action in early 2011, we have now reached the point of closing Vodafail to new complaints.
The site will remain online for as long as possible as a
reminder and an example of what is possible when we share our experiences.
It has been a privilege to run this initiative
and I'm am forever grateful for the help and support I've received. In
particular I would like to thank Melissa, David and Travis for their
continued efforts over the past 15 months. I'm also thankful and humbled by the support of ACCAN, Choice magazine and a wide range of media outlets, blogs and websites.

I was sent picture messages on the 25 December and again on 26 December. I did not receive these messages until 5am on 28 December.
I called Vodafone about a week ago to reset my 'online' account, I waited an hour, the couldn't resolve my problem and asked if they could call me back, I instead requested a text msg to confirm the problem was resolved. I was asked if they could help me with anything else, I said yes, I wanted to know how much it would cost to cancel my account. I was then transferred to another 'department' and YES, I was on hold again, so I gave up and hung up!
I have also had periods of now network coverage in the Sydney CBD which resulted in my calls going directly to Voicemail.
So over it!

I have been on here reading so many ppls stories and the pain they have gone through.
Personally I feel it was a massive mistake for Vodafone to agree to this merger of 3 and Voda. clearly they didnt and still dont have this capacity in place nor there is no structure for there company which has resulted in very upset and angry customers.
I speak as I am a previous employee of VF before the merger and let me tell you, after the merger went through not only customers were being affected as there was no transperency to there existing customers but staff had suffered through this all.
All staff went through a re apply stage and well most ppl were made redundant and when they had to go back in for there feedback sessions alot of ppl were given no reasons as to why they didnt make the cut.
Excuses were made such as "Unfortunatley you have too much happening in your personal life" or that we wish you best of luck!! Really? F#$K OFF!!
I for one am very glad this site has come up as not only on the inside and back end was crap but once and for all all customers and the Australian people can see how this merger clearly should not have happened.

I received a bill on 11 Nov,2010,which states that I should pay $90.64 for the wireless internet from 10-Nov to 09 Dec. I paid that bill. Because Vodafone is terrible in its service, I decided to cancelled it on 9 Dec,2010. A few days later, another bill arrived and charge me again. No coverage, phone calls drop out time after time after time! sometimes I can be on the phone for 20 minutes in the same area and then it just drops out! So frustrating I threw my phone out the window the other day. Complained to Vodafone, they tried to tell me it was the phone, I said how do you explain 3 phones doing the same thing!! We will be giving them the flick for sure!!

I have reception at home in E Maitland but no-one has uninterupted coverage in the city's only large shopping centre. It does have a Vodaphone shop though. Also four mile creek is one k from the shop and everyone loses connection on the New England Highway there. I have reported these problems several times in the least few years.

I live at Glebe; 5 minutes from Broadway Shopping Centre. I do not get any reception at my unit which is hard to believe in Sydney City area.

Experienced continued poor reception in house, SMS days late regardless of which phone used as household had 4 phones on vodafone. Have all since changed to alternate provider and now get great reception and SMS responses on all phones.

I have a new vodafone, I have tried to contact customer care, I have been on hold for over 3 hours on at least 6 occasions, and when I finally got through I could not get anyone to understand what I wanted, That was to transfer my old Mobile no to the new mobile. the battery failed, so i ended up with a 2nd phone. tried to go to stores to get help on certain features, only to be told - we're not trained to use that..try the call centre..
then my pain really started.

trie dthe next morning, put my number in, and was disocnnected 4 times....
tried again, FINALLY spoke to someone, who hung up on me, cos they couldnt help me...oh yea...that was after 30 min waiting for someone..

viewing youtube videos or listening to online radio is great but trying to load a web page ie google, ebay or anyother for that matter is slow most the time and doesnt even load the rest of the time. they claim you get broad band speeds but when it comes to loading web pages its not even on par with dial up internet.

After being told the coverage was good in my area I signed up - you literally have to balance the phone on its side in one area of the house for it to work, if it rains it wont work at all, for busy times like 7pm forget it, had to sign up for a landline as its soooo unreliable. I work in the city and have the same problem there, can only us it in one area of the office.

Calls always drop out..... Bad reception when moving from the front to the rear of my house the calls drop out. It sometimes takes my wife several attempts to get through. For the record, the Indian employees do an excellent job for individuals who have 230 am starts in order to deal with customer complaints and racism.

Not only this, my calls drop out continually, my MMS are rarely received and their customer service centre makes me cry. ive being away from vodafone for about a year now, at the time i was with them there was alot of problems with billing getting way over billed , and dealing with the issue with there customer care help line was bullshit hrs on hold and people who couldnt understand my problem passing me from one department to another! it finally got sorted and then i moved away to a rual town that couldnt get reception for vodafone anyway, i waited till my contract was up and got the hell away from them!

I have your vodafone problems with Telstra. Vodafone is perfect for me, Telstra and Optass is the pitts for me. Vodafone: no dropouts, anywhere. Telstra and Optus: dropouts even at home, I have to move around to get any form of signal, then freeze until I make or receive calls or txt's. You lot think Vodafone is bad, come to my place with your Telstra crap! then complain about your provider. No telco can give perfect service everywhere, if they could there would be no competition.

I only have 1 bar of reception at home and absolutley no internet access on my phone. Everytime I make a call, It drops out. I call again and it drops out again. It's an endless cycle.

I have expressed my outrage with vodafone's horrible customer service. After waiting more than 45 minutes on hold, I was put throught to a person who clearly didnt know how to do his job.
I demanded he change my $99 plan to the $65 plan at NO charge - he did so after I threatened to contact the Ombudsman.
Vodafone, I have told everyone I know about your poor coverage/reception and disgusting customer service. If I do not see a result quiet soon, then I will disconnect my service!

My phone has apparently been calling my friends at 3am on random days. In my phone and online, no logs of such calls were recorded. I called Vodafone,and according to them, my phone acted like an 'exchange point', whereby people's calls were redirected to my phone, and from my phone to my friends. I mean, What. The. F**k. How does that even happen!? :S

Constant "call fail" messages. Voicemails arriving in groups of 5 or 6, 3 or 4 days later. No reception in built up areas at random - having to restart phone to reconnect to network. Mms messages not arriving at all! Not being able to send crucial emails during peak times... so so so frustrating!! Making it hard to run my business!!

Im with 3 mobile and prior to the merge between voda and 3 I had pretty good service as I roamed to telstra, and only telstra when i had no coverage with 3.
since the merge, the network automatically set my phone to prefer vodafone in areas with no 3 coverage. I have constant dropped calls etc, my only option is to force my phone to roam onto telstra permanently. Just to make decent calls.

Texts and voicemails delayed for days and even over a week! Have called Vodafone customer service over 20 times since feb 2010 and still being told my investigation is on fast track.... Very frustrating! Phone shows full bars of coverage but does not receive messages through til I make a call, like it seems to open the line or something. Vodafone first said I may be able to have my contract recinded but then said no. They even tried to tell me' the prob was with my sim card. Went tovodafone store to have it replaced and they firstly didn't want to know until I made some noise. Seems u get nowhere with these idiots so I'm in too.

I live in Ultimo - Next to Star City Casino, I get no reception 99% of the time and my girlfriend gets 100% reception always on OPTUS , I have to always ask her to use her phone, I thought i had a faulty Iphone at first, So i went and got a new one, Still same problem.. It's being going on like this for 5 months now, I'm so over it. I have to walk sometimes 100 meters away from my Apartment to get reception at times..

I want to cancel my contract but they will not let me without going through a troubleshooting process i need my phone working now due to work i called a week and a half ago but i had no reply my partner is waiting for a call as we speak about his contract but i doubt we'll get a phone call back.. i am annoyed because you cant just walk into a store and cancel you have to call India for peaks sake its not right they shouldnt be ripping off people who have gone out of their way to accept Vodafone as their provider and now they have failed them and will not let people be happy without giving you a fee!!

I moved back to Tassie to work in a hospital - I was berated when I didn't answer my phone for a call in to an emergency. Funnily enough, the phone never rang - and the voicemail arrived over a week later. I moved to Telstra so that I could actually USE my phone - and Vodafone still hit me with a $600 exit fee, despite their admission that their coverage was "poor" in my area.

This is not new. A year ago when I signed my 2 year contract I got pretty good reception in my local area of the central coast of NSW. Now calls dont even get to my phone and neither do the voicemails. They arrive hours later. Too late to call back and business lost.

I speak as I am a previous employee of VF before the merger and let me tell you, after the merger went through not only customers were being affected as there was no transperency to there existing customers but staff had suffered through this all.
All staff went through a re apply stage and well most ppl were made redundant and when they had to go back in for there feedback sessions alot of ppl were given no reasons as to why they didnt make the cut.
Excuses were made such as "Unfortunatley you have too much happening in your personal life" or that we wish you best of luck!! Really? F#$K OFF!!

I live in one of NSW suburbs and often I receive voice mail on my mail box while my phone is on and available when I listen to the message I find out that the phone never rang and that is why the call goes to voice mail, I have changed my hand set a few time and got a latest one but still having same problem, according to the Vodafone 3G reception is quiet week in this part of NSW and that is the reason some of my calls directly go to voice mail without even ringing.

I live on Phillip Island 5kms from the centre of town and 5 kms from the world renowned Grand Prix track. Can only get reception inside if the wind is blowing in the right direction. Turn on 3G ... nothing. The veranda is the best place but never full bars - rug up for those cold winter nights.
Previously lived in Morwell in the Latrobe Valley. Depending on what end of the house I was in I got two different cell transponders - nice, no problems.
Only reason staying with them is the reasonable deal for pre-paid.
All in all, if there was real competition I would change but after three years I guess I'm used to standing outside to use a basic technology.

I live in the small town of Casino on the Northern Rivers of NSW. Inside my home i recieve no vodafone mobile service/coverage except on the widowsill of the front door of which i only recieve 2 bars of coverage. As soon as i walk out of this room or away from the widowsill my service drops out. This is very frustrating as i recieve alot of calls for work for the job that i do. In the recent past i have missed out on critical work and income due to this lack of coverage. I hope the issue is resolved asap otherwise i will be switching to another service provdier when my contract is up.

I had issues in that I had no data/phone reception in the CBD - NEXT door to a telephone exchange with every freaking tower for every network on it, and nothing at all at my house unless I stood on my letterbox and waved my phone in the air. (I'm not joking). For 3 months of emailing and calling, I'd get email responses to my questions i"d been ASKED to email saying "you spoke to a customer service person about this. Status: Closed". They'd told me to email! I was advised to change my SIM 4 times. I did it 3 times to humour them, the 4th i saw red. I had sat on the phone twice for 1 hour each time that morning and got a robotic Indian person who told me to swap the SIM over and when I lost the plot and asked to speak to a supervisor, was transferred to the automatic SIM replacement line. So I had to start again.
I had had enough by this stage - 86 phone calls and emails is too many. I wrote to the TIO. Within 5 days a VF guy rang me back. I was polite to him and he released me from my contract with no penalty and credited me a whopping $8. (Yes, $8!)
I am now with Telstra and am loving every minute of it. I feel like washing my mouth out with soap saying that, but I can now SMS, make phonecalls AND surf the web absolutely anywhere, whereas my workmates sit in our office with no VF signal for often 2 hours at a time. I can't help smiling really.

The sales lady constantly called my wife asking her to change provider. My wife relented and asked how Vodaphone can help us, well she stated that they are a lot cheaper than our current provider ( Telstra ) she showed us how much we could save and yes the quote was far far cheaper than what were paying. My wife asked about the coverage as word was that the coverage was poor. The sales rep stated that Vodaphone have installed several new towers and the reception had improved vastly. So we changed to Vodaphone, what a joke, constant drop outs, poor reception and bad service. I have a cap plan. Why is it not possible to receive an accurate account balance? Every month it is a guess how much money is left to use! Being hutchinson - I realise im probably locked in for another 23 mths at $30. Stear clear the softwares crap that runs these devices, supports abismal, and they lie about (network links/upgrades,etc) We have made several attempts now to have this corrected and have failed to date. Just completed a 2 yr OVERPRICED contract with vodafone. we have 2 phones and 90% of calls drop out within 10 secs of answering.We live in Brisbane metro area and to have virtually every call drop out is absolute rubbish. Complained at the Vodafone shop in Hyperdome 15 months ago and told upcoming work in the next week or so should solve the problem. No such Luck. Probably no workhas or was ever carried out. We have both changed to another provider as we found their reception far superior. Vodafone keep sending bills but are an absolute rip off and fraud.
