Dear visitor,
Since its inception Vodafail.com has made a significant
contribution towards raising awareness of the problems and issues faced
by Vodafone customers.
Vodafone Australia customers have had the opportunity to voice their concerns, their fears and their troubles from every corner of Australia and beyond our borders.
You have gathered the courage to stand up for your rights as consumers and to make your voice heard.
Each and every person who shared their story should have a sense of pride in this achievement and the changes that have occurred since the start of Vodafail.com.
More recently, traffic to Vodafail.com has declined significantly.
Having achieved the goal of raising awareness and promoting concrete action in early 2011, we have now reached the point of closing Vodafail to new complaints.
The site will remain online for as long as possible as a
reminder and an example of what is possible when we share our experiences.
It has been a privilege to run this initiative
and I'm am forever grateful for the help and support I've received. In
particular I would like to thank Melissa, David and Travis for their
continued efforts over the past 15 months. I'm also thankful and humbled by the support of ACCAN, Choice magazine and a wide range of media outlets, blogs and websites.
You can still browse existing stories and find out how to file a complaint if you are experiencing problems.
Until next time,
Adam Brimo

19908 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Overcharging at 8 Nov 2011 11:20:11 AM
I was charged AUD 195 last month on a AUD 49 plan.
They feel that on a particular day of 16th Sept I browsed my net and used upto 200 MB over the limit. They are charging 50cents per MB.
What a rip off
The company lacks no morality and I have switched.

19906 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is TOTAL FAIL at 8 Nov 2011 10:31:05 AM
One day for no reason I lost all reception on my phone. After 2 months, that's right, 2 months, of contacting Vodafone and being passed around, told complete lies, having to deal with total idiots, I called and told them I would be cancelling my contract with no fees, they tried to get me to pay but I told them where to go. NEVER use this company. I laugh at all the ads they have out now trying to get customers back. I will tell every single living being about how horrible they are to deal with. They blatantly lied to us about what was happening just to try and keep us as customers. SCUM.

I lost my pocket wifi. Called at least 15 times for three days and obviously there was a long queue so I left my mobile number for vodafone to call me. They did call me back but every-time i received a phone call, this just died... It looks like they are protecting their KPIs and just keep calling people and hunging-up on them so stats look good... What a shame

Just got switched over to Vodafail from Three. Assured the service would be better (yeah right). So far no improvement. Can't even register on Myvodaphone because their stupid website doesn't even work! Seriously. FAIL guys. As soon as my contract is up in 18 days I am going to Optus.

19901 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is GETTING WORSE at 8 Nov 2011 02:52:24 AM
Service is worse in the last 4 weeks. 20 "CALL FAILED" and dropped calls in a row, every single phone call drops out!!!!.....on two different handsets and numbers....SMS never arrive or delayed by hours.....full signal 3G yet unable to download data and calls diverted to call catcher despite full signal....all this in metropolitan Sydney....IT IS GETTING WORSE NOT BETTER.....resolution involved customer service going on about my handset (there are 2), my SIM (there are 2) or that my area doesn't seem to have any problems. Reducing my monthly spend as a gesture of goodwill was in fact downgrading my plan with less benefits.....a smokescreen!!........I'M LEAVING

I have to pay an extra $84 for over call. In fact, I can not check my balance via 1512. It took me 2 days to check it on the web, whenever I clicked on spend and entitlements button, it went back to welcome page. I'm so angry and so regretful. Wish never been with Vodafail.
19898 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Every Day Fail at 7 Nov 2011 09:00:17 PM
Every call is dropped. EVERY ONE! When a call CAN be connected, you have to be totally still and NOT MOVE THE PHONE MROE THAN 0.5 CM! otherwise of course, dropout! Texts randomly fail. data is sometimes acceptable, others it is dead. it is totally pathetic, i have been lied to many times by customer service - the few times i have actually gotten through to complain and query if the handset itself (Galaxy s II) is faulty. Spoke to 3 different stores, all deny ANY issues EVER with VF.. BS! We are being lied to every day. I work for an outsourced provider that services a department of VF's customer service.. All I can say is they look even flimsier internally than they do to the public, reactionary corporate BS - profiteering A$$HOLES. Switching to Virgin.

19895 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Worst Fail at 7 Nov 2011 06:52:57 PM
My mobile broadband account with Vodafone was closed 19th November 2010. I have made more than 80 phone calls to Vodafone to close account, and wasted more than 30 hours on the phone. Now I am getting NRG debt collectors on the phone to chase me. Vodafone are the worst business I have ever dealt with.
19894 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Pathetic at 7 Nov 2011 06:08:36 PM
At numerous stages both yesterday and today, phone calls have been unsuccessful to connect, dropped out etc. I stood in front of an ATM for 25 minutes trying to get sufficient data coverage to transfer some money. Vodafone you are failing dismally in convincing me to stay with you as a service provider when my contract ends in 4 months. On an iPhone 4, your '850 network' still appears to suck.
19892 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Very at 7 Nov 2011 06:02:48 PM
Billed for data not used, was sent sms informing me of spending outside my contract, when I rang I was told to ignore the sms as it was a fault, them billed $400.i have never been over my contract amount
7 Nov 2011 09:37:04 PM: If they don't resolve it then go straight to the TIO. It might take a few phone calls but try not to give in to Vodafone, if you are persistent and go through the TIO they will resolve it and wave the charges if they were incorrect. Goodluck!

My $29 Jumbo Cap ran out on November 3rd, which I recharged over the phone with my debit card. I was then able to use my phone for the next two days.
All of a sudden, on the morning of November 5th, my phone tells me I've run out of credit. I checked my bank-statement online and, of course, the $29 was on there, clear as day, processed to Vodafone. And yet, it the almighty brick tells me that I've used all my credit.
"Impossible!", I declare, "I could never have done such a thing, as I work very hard all day and couldn't possibly have had the all-encompassing troll-like dedication to use $150 worth of credit in two days!"
So I ring up the help lady, and she's automatically aggressive towards me, which I hate, because I'm so very reasonable and so is my enquiry. I tried to explain to her my predicament, and she is telling me that their must have been a billing issue, and that my payment was never processed on their end, futhermore, they don't have a record of my order.
In order for my recharge to be processed (which, she says, will take 30 days), I have to fax them a paper version of my bank statement.
Why then, oh knowledgable Vodafone lady, was I able to make calls/send texts from the 3rd to the 5th, when I had no credit on the morning of the 3rd? HMM?
Furthermore, the lady tells me that to make up for my inconvenience, they're going to double my credit the next time I recharge. Which is no help to me, as I only recharge because it runs out after a month, not because I eat through the credit, which is why I always get the cheapest option in the first place. Grrrrrr.
Why do they offer these technological services if they don't work?

Ordered a white Samsung Galaxy II on 18 September 2011. Order was processed but no phone arrived. After a week plus called Vodaphone who advised that there was a delay with the phone. Called customer service (CS)a number of times since and on 20 October (verbally and in writing) was told that the phone was already despatched to AAE but CS had not received a consignment number. Yet another call to CS last week and was told that no phone was actually despatched as there were none available and CS did not know when they would be available. At no stage has Vodaphone sent any updates to advise on delays. All contact had to be initiated by us and seven weeks later we still have no idea when the phone will arrive. This is a disgrace and any organisation that conducts itself this way deserves to fail. We understood that Vodaphone was trying to rebuild its customer base - no wonder it has to if this behaviour is any indication. If you are considering Vodaphone as a provider then be warned - you are signing up for a provider that does not care about its customers and treats them accordingly.
7 Nov 2011 09:08:33 AM: I had the same issue with my 4S. I ended up cancelling the order after long debate and got it through the store. Much painless.

After being able to use my online account for the first six months of my contract, my online account was cancelled. I couldn't log in to my online account for five months. I waited at a vodafone store for 45 minutes, and when I told the employee my problem he said "I can't do anything" and walked away. When I called customer service they told me to register my phone online which I attempted countless times. Everytime I tried to register my phone they sent a password by txt message to my phone, and everytime I entered it online it was rejected as an "invalid password". The issue was resolved only after I made a complaint to the telecommunications Industry Ombudsman. I will never go with Vodafone again and luckily I only have 2 months left on my contract. I can't wait

connection error. I'm upset I've just signed up from 3 for 24 months and after incorrect plans, a failed iPhone 4s preorder (it took 2 weeks to arrive, when it did it was the wrong model and resulted in being put through to retention 3 times in a week after about 20-30 calls), I'm starting to wish I'd cancelled 3 for another telco.. I was with 3 for 10 years and NEVER had any issues!

In July 2011 Vodafone advised that they are upgrading existing towers as well as building 2 new towers in Ellenbrook and that the completion was due in August 2011. In August that goal was revised and the new date was October 2011. It's November now and there's still no changes, no improvement [my benchmark is the Ellenbrook Shops, in front of the SC the coverage is as bad as in my house].
Called them to discuss the situation and if they can give me more precise answer when the upgrade will finish. The bloke promised to personally call me back the following day. At least I didn't believe him.

It seems pointless to me to pay for an unavailable service.

19870 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is No 3g internet reception at 5 Nov 2011 07:29:04 AM
I am in Rosebery (NSW). I have not been able to access the internet on my phone for two days. I have tried to call 1555 (their Customer Support number) but after the prompts, the call is disconnected. I'm assuming it is because they are being flooded with calls and have either discconnected the number or can not cope with the amount of enquiries. Not happy.
Another thing to share - I called them last week (end of October 2011) and asked them when my contract expired. They claimed that they couldn't tell me! LOL. My guess is they know people are wanting to leave the network, so they are have instructed their staff not to provide that information. I went into a store the next day and was told it expires in March 2011, so I'm counting down until I move to Telstra.

Word of caution, you may think the contract is over in March but it is a rolling contract. Around January you may have an offer in the post of something like the last or first 3 months of the old/new contract free, or perhaps a new phone, but you have to contact VF cancellations team with the pain of 1555 to cancel the contract.
You will be offered further incentives to keep you to stay and the promise of jam tomorrow regarding their network capabilities.
Refuse, politely, advise VF you wish to cancel, make sure you record the name and CSR id, date and time of call and most importantly cancellation of any direct debits with VF. Ask for the cancellation confirmation via e mail (they will refuse that one!) or text, something to record the cancellation has happened.
Some customers (me included) have found they have been receiving direct debits from VF for months after the cancellation, eventually I had to use the TIO to get them to stop and refund the monies taken.
Good luck with your new provider next March!

No data coverage in the Sydney CBD again, thanks vodafail. I wonder how much data I'd use each billing cycle if you didn't only load 50% of a site before falling over. The amount of times I have to refresh must mean I cumulatively use more data than I would if your network wasn't pathetic.

We switched to Vodafone and were assured of good coverage in all areas of Perth and surrounds. This simply is not true. Several suburbs have no coverage: for business this is a disaster. As a result of the misinformation I have had to spend an additional $110.00 per month to get additional services elsewhere. So it wasn't a saving at all. I won't talk about the call centres or attempts to fix it. Take it from one who has tried them for two years.. the promises are generally just empty words.

i am a 3 mobile broadband customer and an IT tech. i have constant problems with there internet. if and i mean if it connects. i cannot browse the net 50% of the time because i get the server not found message (as if im trying to browse and im not online) or i get the you have run out of credit message. if i get the latter i check the my3 service and it shows that i have plenty of credit. i have tryed to complain but on the telephone they (Indian call center) run me through a "troubleshoot" that just asked me to do the same things as i previously tried. then it gets even better. they tell me to take the modem to the store. the store then tells me to call the call center again. im like wtf!. you would think that being an IT tech i would know weather the problem is my modem or there servers. but its there servers. and they will do nothing to help me fix this problem. HAVE I BEEN CONNED MY VODAPHONE/3 OR WHAT!!!!!!
2 Nov 2011 11:53:28 PM: orgonal poster here,
by the way for about 2-3 months after i complained the bloody thing mysteriously worked! it was as if someone one somewhere flicked a switch from fail to working then flicked it back a few months later when it started buggering up again! now. i also would like to note that i can not work at the moment due to family issues so i have no money to throw the thing away and get a new mobile broadband modem (i could do this as im a prepaid costumer)

I send an enquiry through their website about my new service with Vodafone. Its really frustrating to have this kind of automatic response in RED COLOUR. They really have problem on their network that's why I complain. I was expecting they would be apologetic for that and not being rude with their RED writing. Its a disgusting level of customer service.

Tried to recharge my vodafone and the web page rejected my credit card. This card is used for my vodafone bill pay. Tried again by phone - same problem.
After about 20 mins got on to a helpful chap from Mombai who advised that their credit card payment system had failed!!
Gave me an extension on the recharge date and asked me to try again in 24 hours.

I have a question which someone with a legal background may be able to answer.
If Vodafone acknowledge your complaint and offer compensation, are they admitting liability and therefore admitting to a breach of contract.
If Vodafone acknowledge your complaint and offer compensation, are they admitting liability and therefore admitting to a breach of contract.
1 Nov 2011 09:45:37 PM: You would have to contact a lawyer and it depends on what Vodafone has actually said. They are able to offer compensation to resolve an issue you are having without admitting any problems. You are able to ask them to cancel your contract without charge if you are having significant problems. Check out our 'how to complain' page for details.

We have had 7 Vodafail services in PWA in out family. Of the 7 services two have had to churn to Telstra due to moving to the country = no Vodafail coverage generally, my wife works in Lesmurdie = no Vodafail coverage, 1 child lives in Roleystone = no Vodafail coverage, one works in Caversham = no Vodafail coverage, one lives in Maylands pennisular = no Vodafail coverage, mine is the only service that works reasonably. Think this is a pretty poor show of a network performance, needless to say both Optus & Telstra both have 5 bars coverage in all these areas

Vodafail the sooner you fall the better Australia will be. You've no consideration for the Australian consumer. You charge for service you can't provide and you don't compensate. The sooner the industry ombudsman needs to step in & remove your licence until you can deliver what you advertise. You say your network has been upgraded but your resolution team says otherwise....bit like your customer service hotline....transfer to many departments hoping we give up....you totally under estimate the Australian consumer

Vodafone is so useless they cannot check their call logs or phone logs. Instead they decide to run in circles hundreds of times. They never call back. They provide more than poor service. Wait times are ridiculous. Customer service team barely speaks english. If I could influence anyone who I havent already influenced to not go with Vodafone, I would influence everyone on the planet. Vodafone = ONE HUGE FAIL AS A COMPANY.

I am in Chatswood. I use iPhone 3GS. I've just finished my 2 long and painful year contract with Vodafone. Switched to Telstra prepaid. Telstra is unbelievably reliable. 3G download speed at least 3 times faster. Less battery consumption. With Vodafone I had to turn off 3G and use Edge to stay connected online to the end of my contract. I did not feel or see Vodafone network improve as they claim on all sorts of media.

After 5 months of faulty handset, no signal, call drop out, not receiving calls and payments not being recongized I finally got vodafone to let me out of my contract . This was after they did a network coverage test on an area I did not live in. Being let out of the contract is only the start of the issue as they insist I return the handset, which is fine but they will only accept it in a post bag they are meant to be sending to me, I have been waiting 8 weeks and have made 2 follow up calls to find out where this bag is and eventually got them to agree to me taking the phone into a store, which I tried to do today only to discover the store had no idea I was coming and won't help me, after I refused to leave the store without the issue being resolved they took my phone and would not provide me with anything in writing the store hopes to receive the post bag by the 11tg of November (making it 9 months that this has dragged out) the store call security on me and had me removed for insisting I get something in writing
29 Oct 2011 11:41:09 PM: In regards to their customer service, I personally helped a customer in their store as I couldn't sit and watch as they ripped off some little old lady, if you're still with vodafail and don't want to spend all you're credit on retrieving voice mail dail1219 and your voice mail will call you for free

19833 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Can't even do a simple number change! at 29 Oct 2011 04:09:46 PM
Recently, I requested a number change with Vodafone. I am currently on a prepaid plan and I know that it costs $19.95 to have a number changed. I am also informed that when requesting this kind of service, a customer can request for their desired number format e.g. 61449599*** (left three asterisks at the end so that the system can generate a good mobile number.) 8/11 customer service reps that I have spoken to in the last few days say that this is not possible and I would have to pay $275 plus $19.95 if I want my new number to be a specific format. The other three customer service reps knew what to do and advised me that the format mentioned above was perfectly acceptable. Vodafone, I cant believe your'e trying to sell me something that nearly costs $300 for a simple number change that should cost $19.95! :(
19832 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Can I get my money back please?! at 29 Oct 2011 02:49:50 PM
I took out a mobile broadband a couple of years ago. Having not used it in months I decided to cancel my contract and pay for whatever was remaining. After a horrid phone call where customer service was trying to sell me other products and trying to have me keep the product I no longer wanted, I finally thought I was rid of Vodafone once and for all. 4 months passed before I actually noticed on my bank statements that I was STILL being charged for the service I had cancelled! I called back again to have this problem rectified and this time was told the money would be credited within 3 weeks! So 6 weeks later, I call back as no money has been credited to my account and was told "oh yeah, we didn't seem to have the right bank details so we couldn't send you the money" This is the same account they were taking money from! So had I not called or realised what was happening, I may not have ever seem my money again! I will now wait and see if my account is credited by the end of the week. I am not holding my breath!

My 81 year old dad received an unsolicited sms message on his Telstra mobile purporting to be from "Auvodafone" - no sender's number supplied, on 27.10.11 stating $136.50 owing on account no. 635312466 has been sent to your email address - due for payment of 15 Nov".
Dad doesn't have an account with Vodafone. I emailed them just now (29.10.11,13:14)& immediately received an automatic reply email stating "due to higher than anticipated volume of email enquiries, we are currently experiencing some delays in email response" then advertising how to port to their company! At the bottom of their reply, it says "status: solved"!!
Bizarre that they can claim to have solved a query from a live human being using an automatic response! We're assuming the sms is spam. Can they somehow interfere with credit ratings if dad ignores the message? Thank you for your site - it's a great play-on-words name too!

My problem appears not to be singular. I have found forum discussions from back in March 2011 where people have been complaining about same issues I am having. This is the reference link I have found: http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/1662488 .
If there is some class action against this situation I would like to join the effort.

19823 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Phone coverage shocking! at 28 Oct 2011 09:38:50 AM
I live in Williamstown, Victoria very close to Melbourne city and am constantly getting horrific coverage. Especially in my house. So sick of hearing they are doing all these upgrades. I have yet to see an improvement. Its not like I live in the middle of nowhere! Even when I am in the city I often have terrible coverage. I feel very sorry for Australians. This sort of service provision would not be accpetable in the UK where I was before. Complaints and bad press seems to do nothing here to change things. My contract is up in March and unfortunatly, even the other providers aren't fantastic. From one crappy choice to the next slightly better but still not good enough... And you call this the lucky country?
28 Oct 2011 11:06:58 PM: Yea it is pretty bad, there was a huge media storm earlier in the year that got Vodafone's attention. Since then they've announced a lot of plans and network upgrades but there are still lots of issues. If you can get reception then you still have to worry about problems with the Vodafone billing system.
In most cases the best bet for a complaint is with the TIO - at least you'll be able to get what you want when you go through them.

Network: Signed up several months ago on a 65+5 for the Desire HD on infinate... wow.. a typical CBD phonecall takes at least 3-4 attempts to even connect. Tried several phones, and it appears as though my only option is to stick purely to GSM if I actually want to make and receive calls.
Billing: Got my first email bill no problems.. payed it via bpay... no problems.. set up an automatic payment via internet banking... 2 months pass, 3, 4... then my phone dies! So i call... guess what!? Voda has been accepting automatoc payment every month into the wrong account (i.e changed my bpay reference number after first bill, has populated via vodafone account with 9 year old '3' data from an old contract i was on), and of course, has been sending all email and other correspondance to another address.. BUT keeping the money, and DISCONNECTING ME for non payment. So, to restore my service and avoid a bad credit note, I had to pay 390 odd dollars (including late payment fees) and chase the bPay payments which have left my account with my bank...Yay! Thank you vodafone! Thank you for the phone call after month 1 to let me know that there was a payment issue on my account (sarcasm)!
I am definately on an infinate plan... infinate rubbish! Time to go to the TIO... FAIL!
On a side note... ive been with 3 for years on another contract I use for work.. I just switched to telstra for the same network reasons as above.. 3 has degraded in network quality severely - particularly with internet speed and coverage... and I got TIRED of seeing 'E' and paying per MB for roaming that didnt even bloody work!

I ask to go on a higher cap and they tell me it should go through in 2 days. After 2 days I start increasing my downloads to that of the new cap and then get suspended for going over cap. I call up and they havent upgraded my cap. They tell me I have to pay part of the bill or no reconnection. They tell me the will put in a dispute and give me my money back but after they reconnect me they direct debit the rest out of my account. Over $500 all up. Three months later still no money. I keep calling and they keep telling me the money should only be a few more days so I ring the TIO. Nice person calls me and tells me sorry about the others people at the call centre we will give you your money plus "Good Will" bonus (so no more trouble with Ombudsman). Then Vodafone calls me back and says investigation into your problem so money will take longer. Nice person I spoke to no longer works there and new person is not as nice.
Three months and no money still

27 Oct 2011 06:43:58 PM: If this was other way around they would have disconnected the phone and sent the debt collectors after me.
28 Oct 2011 08:16:26 AM: Exactly what they did to me! Except they changed my bpay ref number after the first bill (which I had set up an automatic payment on), re-populated my VF account with 9 year old data from and old '3' account i had, and sent all correspondance to the wrong address and email.. no-one even bothered calling, just d/c me and threatened me with bad credit for non payment for 4 months. After all this I had to pay the amount owing again, am chasing up the missing bpay payments ($280) with my bank (which didnt bounce) + the late payment fees for each month.

Hey guys, this is a copy of my complaint email to Vodafone, to which I haven't yet received a reply of course.
My complaint:
On Wednesday the 26th of October I wished to call the Vodafone help line (Lara) for assistance with my recently purchased "Pocket Wifi" device. Since my own mobile phone provider (not Vodafone) does not allow for calls to 13,15,1800 numbers, I inserted the Vodafone sim from the pocket wifi and dialled 1555. This was unsuccessful.
I then proceeded to call Sydney's head office on (02) 9415 7000, since that was the only number available for me to dial. After speaking to the operator for a short time she put me through to a call center; I assume from the heavy delay in our conversation, and by the representative's accent, he was somewhere in India/Pakistan. Initially, the person seemed keen to help me, and I was happy with his effort...though it was quite difficult for us to understand each other's English.
A very, very, VERY long story cut extremely short:
I stayed on the phone for 2 hours. During this time I spoke to 16 (that's SIX-TEEN) different people. SIXTEEN PEOPLE. The line dropped out twice, I was hung-up on after holding for 12 minutes for one operator, and even hung-up on by the thirteenth Vodafone employee, after I raised my voice to her when she asked me to verify (for the THIRTEENTH time remember!) who I was and my date of birth etc.
Finally I spoke to yet another man in an overseas call-centre, who told me all I had to do to have my faulty device replaced was to take it into a Vodafone shop. This seems simple enough, but seeing as I bought it online, I thought it was best to check before simply turning up in a shop I'd never been to before and demanding they replace my product.
So it took 16 employees 2 hours to tell me this.
Then today, the 27th of October, I visited Bondi Junction Westfield shopping-centre. The first Vodafone store I went to told me they were "too small" to help me, and had no replacement products. They advised me to go downstairs to a "3 Mobile" shop where I'd be able to talk to Vodafone workers.
I did this, and after waiting 23 minutes to be attended to, finally thought I was getting somewhere. The young man working in the shop was quite helpful and said he'd replace my faulty pocket wifi. Just when I thought this whole ordeal was over however, he informed me that they didn't have any in stock. "No problem", I said. "Just keep my details and let me know when you get some in."
To which he replied, "We're closing in two weeks, no point."
So now, on my day off from work due to sickness, I'm sitting in Mc Donalds in Kings Cross: in order to use the free Wifi: in order to complain about the fact that I have no internet.
If I don't receive at least an adequate reply, from someone who speaks English as a first language (or at all), I will destroy my product with a claw-hammer, and avoid using any Vodafone-related product 'til my dying day.
Regards and terrible wishes,
Ben.

Usually I can bare the fact that Vodafone lags two days in handing out information of my "current" credit balance, but in the past few days they have pushed it too far and have increased the period to 5 days. What's even worse is that when I go onto MyVodafone or get the text or ring the Vodafone account balance they still insist that the information is only at maximum 24 hours! I WANT MY REAL ACCOUNT BALANCE ON THE SPOT! How come Telstra can do this and Vodafone can't, it can't be THAT hard!
28 Oct 2011 05:55:51 PM: if we stuff u around we can charge extra because u have blown your download limit. how else do u think we r going to pay for the network upgrade.

Switched over from 3 after being told my Internet reception might be better. Not will be better, but could be better, otherwise it would be the same. After the switch I got absolutely no Internet reception in my house even though 3 was blazingly fast. Call reception sounded like talking through a wall most of the time as well, so I switched to Virgin.
Just received a $466 early termination bill even though I was told that I would be put on a month to month contract. The billing service personnel just kept repeating the same thing over and over until I exploded. Then he decided to try and give me another number to call which I refused. I told him that the contract I am on has to match what I was told over the phone or it is illegal, and then I went and filed a complaint at the TIO website. So shall wait and see what happens.
As a by note my wife was on the same plan with 3 and ordered her Vodafone sim card but didn't actually activate it. She still had a few months to go on a 3 24 month contract, but the Vodafone salesperson said she is now on a month to month contract. Funnily enough she hasn't had any problems with the switch over to Virgin.

I dont know if any of you have a similar story, but with Vodafone (Vodafail) i wont' be surprised if others have the same story. But to cut long story short
For last 4 months Vodafone is sending me warnings that my account is overdue. When i tried to call vodafone several times to clarify the issue and prove that Vodafone is deducting payments from my Credit card and i have proof of that (SMS messages, Credit card account, bank confirmation trasnaction numbers and Vodafone "Payments recieved" emails !!) so what is happening? please someone tell me, when i try to call their billing team, i get answer from their call center in India and the guy on the phone says "Your account is overdue" and I tell him then who is collecting the money? It is going to a vodafone account, and he answers "Your account is overdue"... after all this is Vodafail the company that seems to be run by monkeys. Today i had enough and i lodged a complaint to the Obudsman. I hope that this company will loose its license to provide service in Australia, I am not sure how many more customers are getting ripped off here!!

I have been with 3 for 12 years with little trouble....bring on Vodafone...1st day after having to switch, received wrong phones!!! After finally getting a phone that was not what I ordered and then spending 4 hours on hold, I was advised to go into the Vodaphone store where my problems could be soughted out.
After spending another 4 hours in that store, we came to an agreement that I would accept the phone I did not want because they did not have the phone in Australia that they had advertised! I rang on Monday morning to activate the sim card for the phone that did not fit in the phone as my new phone required a micro sim and Vodafone had sent me a large sim card....3 times!!! I am now waiting for the service to activate...4 days later after the message on the activation told me that the service would take between 2 hours and 24 hours!!! Go vodafail. I have tried to call back and let them know how pathetic thier customer service is and also that this is the worst company I have ever had to deal with but the Indians in the call centre can't give me any answers so who can???

For how long the customer support will continue to feed with useless statements. It's been 3 weeks my broadband traffic is not exceeding 3KBps. 28 minutes of connection and 3MB of traffic.
I called the support. The only thing they keep saying is that the coverage is good in your area - it's 3G.
There are times I want to yell at them. It's just they have been trained with the same c**p.
It's like saying that you have a large pipe. What's in it to me if it is large or narrow. IT IS EMPTY!!!!
We are not stupid, Vodafone!!!
Simply install higher capacity antennas or allocate larger quota per tower.
Dear Vodafail, can you please convince this to them?
Thanks.

27 Oct 2011 01:16:18 PM: Earlier in the year we submitted the Vodafail Report to Vodafone detailing all the problems and since then they have responded by announcing upgrades to many of their towers and systems. The problems are still ongoing for many people and by posting here and on Vodafone's facebook/twitter pages, you are letting them know the problems still exist.

I called to cancel our contract with Vodafone after finally getting fed up with coverage issues all around Sydney, particularly in the lower blue mountains and after losing my 2nd $10,000 contract for work due to voicemails being delayed over a week...
First Call: July 2011
Spoke to lady in call centre (name withheld) regarding cancellation. Long story short, she will send out some bags for the current iPhone handsets to be retrieved and when they are received at their centre, they will waive the early termination payment and send us a bill for what is left owing.
What happened... Very little, in fact NOTHING!. No bags sent out. Next month... another bill.!!
Second Call: October 19th
Called to remind them about bag and query why it was sent to NRG debt collectors with an amount we have no record of. No real sense made here and my wife hung up after 45mins of going no where.
Third Call: October 26th
Called to as about what was going on and put in a new request for the bags. guy was helpful. He put through the order for the bags and said they will arrive in 5 days or so. GREAT. Asked him what to do about NRG, "Just call them and tell them about our arrangement." No problem.
Called NRG... they are just interested in getting their money and said that we need to call Vodafone regarding any amounts that have been revised.
Called Vodafone back to get the revised amount after the phones get sent back and to get the account back from NRG.
Basic customer service could not help so tx me to other dept.
He said that the account was sent to NRG in August, a month after I asked for the contract to be cancelled. When I asked about the other $1000 added on the NRG bill, he said some was commission and some was a early termination payment??? I said that it was waived and he said OK.
I asked him to pull the account from NRG and to forward me the amount left outstanding. He cant do that until he gets the phones back. So when/if the bags get here, we will see.
