Dear visitor,
Since its inception Vodafail.com has made a significant
contribution towards raising awareness of the problems and issues faced
by Vodafone customers.
Vodafone Australia customers have had the opportunity to voice their concerns, their fears and their troubles from every corner of Australia and beyond our borders.
You have gathered the courage to stand up for your rights as consumers and to make your voice heard.
Each and every person who shared their story should have a sense of pride in this achievement and the changes that have occurred since the start of Vodafail.com.
More recently, traffic to Vodafail.com has declined significantly.
Having achieved the goal of raising awareness and promoting concrete action in early 2011, we have now reached the point of closing Vodafail to new complaints.
The site will remain online for as long as possible as a
reminder and an example of what is possible when we share our experiences.
It has been a privilege to run this initiative
and I'm am forever grateful for the help and support I've received. In
particular I would like to thank Melissa, David and Travis for their
continued efforts over the past 15 months. I'm also thankful and humbled by the support of ACCAN, Choice magazine and a wide range of media outlets, blogs and websites.
You can still browse existing stories and find out how to file a complaint if you are experiencing problems.
Until next time,
Adam Brimo

4144 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Reception at 27 Dec 2010 05:25:01 PM
I was with 3, and then they merged with Vodafone.... what a travesty.... The only place that I could get reception was standing in the middle of the road, and even then the call would only last about 5 minutes (if that) before it would drop out then I would have to call again. Rang 3 about the problem, who then referred me to Vodafone (called them on my landline because mobile kept dropping out). After an hour and a half on the phone they said that there was nothing that they could do, and in their words - "if you don't like it change to someone else". Within 10 minutes of hanging up I was in a Telstra store. Even though I was with 3, Vodafone took over everything. With 3 the reception and customer service was tolerable, after the merge with Vodfone - it was all cactus.
4143 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is WORST at 27 Dec 2010 05:24:48 PM
VODAFONE IS THE WORST NETWORK SERVICE IN AUSTRALIA. I SIGNED UP CONTRACT WHEN I WAS LIVING CLOSE TO LIVERPOOL RAILWAY STATION YEAR AGO. AFTER I MOVED TO WARWICK FARM I COULDNT EVEN MAKE A SINGLE CALL COMPLETELY FROM MY UNIT HOUSE BECAUSE OF THE VERY VERY POOR RECEPTION. THEY ASKED ME TO CHANGE MOBILE NETWORK SET UP TO 2G INSTEAD OF 3G , STILL NO USE. SO I SIGNED UP FOR TPG LAND LINE AND ANOTHER PREPAID SIM TO MAKE AND RECIEVE CALLS. ALL I AM DOING IS DIVERTING MY VODAFONE CALLS TO THE PREPAID SIM. IT IS VERY VERY BAD AND EXPENSIVE TO PAY COUPLE OF BILLS LIKE PREPAID,LANDLINE JUST BECAUSE OF THIS 2YEARS CONTRACT.
4142 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is badly at 27 Dec 2010 05:24:41 PM
I'm in Mackay and was contracted to Vodafone for 4 years. The first two years worked fine but just after i extended my contract another two years it went tits up. The ONLY real thing that gets me is their blatant 'deny everything' policy at their call centres. They've given me the excuse that they were upgrading the tower in 2009 - never happened - then it was lightning hit the tower - then whatever excuse the person that answered the phone could come up with. Rubbish service now in contrast to years earlier when they were top class. I moved to Optus and it's been perfect in Mackay and all the way to Brisbane. Pissed off i tried that many times to get out of my contract with them as i couldn't make a call anywhere - not even in the Vodafone shop lol - but had to stay on as i wasn't paying out heaps of money for crap service.
4141 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is FAILED COMPANY at 27 Dec 2010 05:24:41 PM
Signed up to a contract & received a faulty phone so I contacted Vodafone & they said to me they understand this is known to be a faulty handset, they noted it all down on there system & told me that I'm entilted to a new handset to the same or less of value & told me when i have the chance to go & get the phone of my choosing from my local store, once at the store they said "NO! You're not allowed to have a new handset you need to send this one away for repairs!" so i decided to send it away, once i got it back from Vodafone they told me it was a brand new phone when in fact it was a old phone because it had scracthes all around it including a deep one on the screen & in my eyes this doesn't look like a "brand new" handset. Also agreeing with thousands of other Vodafone customers they do have very poor reception which fails to send messages of all kinds in which makes them delayed & calls arn't connected due to the poor reception of Vodafone. THIS CUSTOMER IS NOT HAPPY!

I am a Plumber & could get no reception in lots of areas in Brisbane.I had to pay out my contract & switch service providers, as they wouldn't let me out of the contract, even though they couldn't provide the service. I feel ripped off as it cost a few hundred dollars to pay out the contract.
4136 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Very. at 27 Dec 2010 05:23:59 PM
Vodafone is just one big joke. I have had their Mobile Broadband for three years, and oh boy.
Their monthly rollover works in a way where you need to disconnect before 12AM and reconnect after otherwise it still counts as the same day. I learned this the hard way late at night, incurring a much higher bill.
Their 3G is regularly 4 bars of 5 where I live, while a friend of mine, who lives a 15min walk away, only gets 2. So much for mobile.
The 3G falls out randomly, and needs to be pulled out physically because 'disconnecting' just freezes the program. It's not my computer either, I have had to switch computers in the last year, same thing.
I also needed a new version of the program for Windows 7, not given with the stick post release. I had to physically go to one of their stores. When I went to their site to get a backup, as I had deleted it off the flashcard, the current Windows 7 program wasn't there, I had to google the version to find it.
Also, their current '6GB' is not 6GB, it's whatever they want. I had it set for 6144MB as a limit, I got charged for excess use. Their so called 6GB seems to be really 5999MB.
Their phones are not much better. Regular falling out for no reason, going from 3 to 1 bar while in one place and their branded phones being pieces of crap that lock up all the time requiring the battery to be taken out and put back in, just after the warrenty goes.

As listening to the news about Vodafone drop outs, my reception drops out for a third time in 3 minutes.
Changed to vodafone due to poor Optus reception as we are at the bottom of a hill and everyone who had Vodafone good reception, now Optus has put in a new tower at the top of the hill and everyone who has Optus has good reception and I've got to sit on the window ledge to basically get reception for a minute or two.
My messages always come back as unable to send.

I have a few issues with my phone but I have given up asking for help and calling Vodafone as I honestly cant stand speaking to ANNOYING LARA!!!!! I was previously with Optus and even though the call centre is overseas at least I actually spoke to a real person. I sstill continue to put up with my phone due to not getting any where. I dont want to just jump on here to complain but the service from my phone is ridiculous. Phone constanly drops out and some times I could hear another conversation on my line?
4132 Someone from SA thinks vodafone is unchanging ineffectiveness at 27 Dec 2010 05:23:38 PM
I've had to switch carriers so I can actually make and receive calls, send texts and so on. I've been with vodafone for years but each time I ring up it's the same procedure familiar to anyone dealing with any telco - idiotic menu choices that don't work anyway. Today I rang for technical assistance and got billing who then told me I should have rung technical assistance and who then said they'd put me through- instead I ended up with billing again. 30 minutes of nowhere.

4130 Someone from WA thinks vodafone is very poor service (in both senses of the word) at 27 Dec 2010 05:23:34 PM
Before moving out to Kalgoorlie WA 4 months ago I specifically called Vodafone to make sure that I would have full coverage - they showed me the coverage map and said that I would absolutely have signal. Over the past 4 months I have had regular drop-outs and no signal. I've tried calling to complain, but they are no help what-so-ever!
29 Dec 2010 06:18:49 PM: Do you have a video phone? How can you call them and they show you the map??? huh??
29 Dec 2010 08:35:33 PM: "Do you have a video phone?" LOL... maybe you haven't heard of this new fangled thing called the "Internet" :)
2 Jan 2011 02:10:44 AM: SAME SITUATION WITH ME! I was having problems with a different company and was assured that i wouldnt have problems with vodafone ... urgh then you call to complain and get put on hold for hours only to get DISCONNECTED!
4129 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Very at 27 Dec 2010 05:23:29 PM
Vodafone's mobile broadband coverage in Hamilton, and Lake Macquarie, specifically Belmont North, is hopeless. It is slower than dial-up. Loading a YouTube video is a fruitless activity, and I have drop-outs regularly, when load is applied by others trying to get online.
Also, I have a Vodafone mobile phone which continually drops cals after a few minutes, necessitating me to re-call - earning Vodafone another flagfall. Bastards. I must admit that when I go to my sisters' homes in Medowie, I get no service at all!

4128 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Useless!! at 27 Dec 2010 05:23:28 PM
Vodafone is USELESS!! How are you surpose to be contactable when the network keeps dropping out every five minutes! Then when you try and contact vodafone via the customer service number it's like a waiting marathon and then the network drops out and you have to start all over again!!! Frustrating, disappointed and pissed off are words that come to mind over vodafones lack of concern over delivering a service they promise to deliver when you sign their contracts... and whats more... they still want their bill paid on time or your service gets cut off!! Vodafone you suck!!
4127 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Intense at 27 Dec 2010 05:23:27 PM
If I have to listen to Lara one more time, well, I just hope I never meet the person who is that voice!!! I now actually go to Vodafone stores, ask them to ring my issues in on my behalf then leave the store to go do my errands/shopping and know that it will be at least a half hour before I'm needed back to check in on how the store person is going. I'm gobsmacked that they can't even jump the cue. Phone rage is established primarily from Vodafone experience. As a Vodafoner of over a decade (one customer service person was incredibly impressed with that) I will continue with them (only because I like the colour RED!) but I cross my fingers I never need to call because they have the most infuriating customer service I've ever experienced. AAMI is one company who answers with a human being after three rings (also a RED logoed company) - I don't believe Vodafone is any more important than AAMI. I sincerely hope that the media damage from this exposure is serious enough that Vodafone can pull finger and address it's issues as any well founded company seeking to protect itself MUST.
4126 Someone from SA thinks vodafone is Poor at 27 Dec 2010 05:23:19 PM
Got sold a phone on a 2 year contract with vodafone. I argued with the guy in the store saying Ive always had bad coverage with vodafone but he insisted things had improved so I signed up. I live ten minutes from the city of adelaide in Henley Beach and calls drop out in my home. I travel also with work and the so called 3G coverage gives me many drop outs also. Absolute crap, and the sales people should be sued for lying.

4124 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is major reception fail at 27 Dec 2010 05:23:11 PM
I just managed to get out of my contract...or so I thought, due to lack of reception in Melbourne metro area! The 'resolutions team' were going to get back to me in 5 days...3 weeks later I called again and everytime I explained the problem, the phone dropped out! Eventually, after 4 consecutive phone calls...2 hours on the phone...they agreed to cancel my contract without any early exit fees...2 weeks later my final bill has over $500 of exit fees! Way to go Vodafone!
4123 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Sometimes i forget i have a phone at 27 Dec 2010 05:23:09 PM
I live in Coogee NSW, which is less than 10kms away from the CBD. in my apartment i have to stand in the corner of one of my rooms to be able to get 'static' reception. my gf who lives wiht me is with 3, and she happily walks around that apartment talking on her phone. when i leave my apartment i get my voicemails and txts coming through. i pay $79 q mnth for nothing. i think it is a rip off and feel horrendously cheated. I can't contact voda cause of the wait time, and when i go to their shop they give me a new sim card to try. but wait for it, they tell me i have to call 1555, which has been a big FAIL from the beginning.
4122 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Terrible at 27 Dec 2010 05:23:08 PM
Almost every time I sent a mms it won't send, even when it does the other person only gets it about 12hrs later. Normal reception is crap, 50% of calls dropout even when the phone shows 3 bars of reception. Over it!!!!!!!!!!
4121 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is at 27 Dec 2010 05:23:07 PM
I am so sick of sending text messsages to my friends, and they receive them maybe 2-3 days later! Same goes for voicemail message alerts. Friends will leave me a message and I will receive it maybe 2 days later! Incredibly slow internet service on my iphone, and call drop outs constantly. As soon as my contract has expired I will be terminating my contract and NEVER using them again, and telling as many of my friends as I can to never use them.

4119 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is double fail!!! at 27 Dec 2010 05:22:55 PM
I bought a vodaphone dongle with the knowledge that I had a 7 day return policy if I did not have coverage in my area as the map showed a few black spots and this was my concern. When I got home, I discovered that I had no coverage, infact I had to walk to the back of my parents property to get any sort of signal. Definately no signal inside. The very next day I returned to the shop. I was told I had to ring customer service to renig the contract. I proceeded to spend at least 1 hour on the phone almost everynight and would go into the store on a Thursday and Saturday for A MONTH!!!! In the end, I just broke down in the shop and cried. Then, the vodaphone spent 3 hours on the phone getting it sorted. I will never consider them again. That was not acceptable.
28 Dec 2010 12:48:04 AM: I'm an Idependent ACN Representative,I understand how everyone are totally dissatisfied with the Vodafone phone, internet and customer service qualities. Our ACN customer services are incredible. You can reach them less than 10 mins pratically everytime. They are fast and effiecient and never transfer your call unlike Telstra or Optus as I heard, If you want to know more about us, contact me in my email at cengiz@acnrep.com I loves to turn UNHAPPY customer to HAPPY customer.
4118 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is very bad at 27 Dec 2010 05:22:49 PM
I regularly get drop outs in Murarrie on 2G - suburb of Brisbane.
In addition I am only 8 km from the centre of Brisbane and the 3G coverage is almost non-existent. It is a waste of time calling Customer Service as there is none, service that is.

I had no reception at my house or just about anywhere else!!!! what a useless company!! would love to sue there ass's and make them accountable for the crappy contracts and reception we have to live with!!!
4116 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is phone coverage at 27 Dec 2010 05:22:48 PM
We have terrible coverage. The whole family have to go out side the front door to be able to hear anyone. I am so tired of having to run around the house trying to find a spot that you can actually get coverage. The company my husband and myself work for are changing back to telstra as the service is so bad.
4115 Someone from SA thinks vodafone is Useless waste of money at 27 Dec 2010 05:22:44 PM
Paid $49 for a usb modem with 3 GB data for mobile broadband. First they sent me a sim card only, then after 3 hours on the phone and no joke talked to 8 different departments, even though I kept begging them not to transfer me. My cordless landline battery even went flat. The coverage map showed we should have had coverage but I was forever reconnecting. Even bought a new laptop thinking it was a problem with my pc. Now have dumped Vodafone, luckily was only on prepaid. Not the fault of the phone support people. Fault of the company for not training them., Am really happy with my new company, Virgin. Anyone want a Vodafone usb modem!!!

4112 Someone from WA thinks vodafone is shocking at 27 Dec 2010 05:22:35 PM
Hi, i live in Port Hedland WA and have been a vodafone subscriber for 3 years. I have been complaining for months now but all i have been told from vodafone is that they can do nothing because their is no signal. I indicated to them that on the web site it says i should have signal but there isnt any. They emailed me after numerous emails that their techs have looked at the issue and have realised that their is bad reception in my area and i need to live with that even tho they advertise a normal signal. i have had enough. Why should i pay for something that they can not deliver.
4111 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is at 27 Dec 2010 05:22:34 PM
When I was living in qld at my parents house I never got signal and thought it was the area we lived in but before I got my contract I had full signal and could phone from within the house. I've complained with customer service and with store personal and got told vodafone is updating there network and there towers but it's been 2/3 years now and it's still the same problem. I live in Victoria now and I do have signal in my house but ones we travel the signal goes. Ive been having problem with receiving bills and after a year of over due bills and phoning them monthly I am receiving my bill and changed my plan from $69 cap to the new infinite plan. I complained severely and was frank with the customer service officer and refused to pay for my new plan. I am giving vodafone one more chance and if they don't upgrade there services (customer service, signal etc I am forced to change to a different provider.

Over texting my friends and family and it sending more then 3 times and getting charged for 3 times the text message when i only want it sent once. Not only is that happening but every time i go to make a phone call it decides not to connect 90% of the time and having to dial it again. SO OVER VODAPHONE u have wasted up to $120 of my own money on the $29 cap every 2 weeks because you decide to charge me up to $2.20 for a text i only want sent once not 3-5 times!!!! Where is my money back???????????

4106 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is coverage at 27 Dec 2010 05:22:12 PM
I cancelled my plan with Vodafone, and they decided to send me a bill for over $1,500 in cancellation costs, apart from me not going to pay the bill due to lack of customer service support, very very poor mobile coverage over the Queensland and surrounding suburbs, delayed messages, email service problems. i have recently moved my mobile phone and all my company phones to telstra which so far have found to have better customer service, reception, email services.
I had been a Vodafone mobile customer for over 8 years , but times are changing and if you cant keep up with technology, then get out

Been with 3 actually who are now in partnership with Vodafone.. the service is absolutely hopeless.. cant get reception in our house most of the time.. we are 10 mins from city centre ! and the download rates for mobile broadband is sometimes as low as 3 kb per second!! been worse since vodafone joined them. Cant get out of the contract and dont know what to do,, can i get out of the contract?? very disgruntled customer.
4104 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Too the extreme!!! at 27 Dec 2010 05:22:09 PM
I joined Vodafail Broadband Wireless in November 2009, as part of joining over the phone I was to receive 3 months free; I was lead to believe that this would be the first 3 months of the contract, but after contacting Vodafail I was told my 3 months free would be received in the 5th, 6th & 7th month. Each month I didn't receive the free month, in which I made many long calls to Vodafail and in turn was promised each time that it would begin on the next bill. A couple of months back I emailed them to explain my situation and that I was feeling the customer service team were insulting my intelligence by continually promising my free months would happen from the next bill (having them repeat this promise at least 3 times per call :)I also requested to cancel my contract as they had not held up their end of the contract, so I was not prepared to hold up mine and would like to persue a more reparable provider. I received a reply to my email a few weeks later stating that they apologise that the discount had been received and it will happen from my next bill and of course yet again this didn't transpire. I had to take a break from this frustrating situation for a couple of months as it was driving me crazy and I was no longer being very polite to the customer service people which is extremely out of character for me, so with it now being 8 months since my first contact I would like to formally complain for the inconvenience this has caused, the time wasted, the cost to my mobile phone account I would like compensation for the call cost also. (which is also with vodafail, but that's another complaint altogether).
Thank you for taking the time to set up this web page and I hope the authorities will look into this further as it is totally unacceptable for the money we pay for these services.
Kind regards,

I live 5pm from Melbourne CBD, work in the CBD & constantly have no phone signal or data access (thank god I have wi-fi @ home!) calls drop out constantly - that is if I'm able to make a call! I called to make a payment extension & waited for 27minutes before I had to hang up, I tried another 3 times with the same result ranging from 20-35 minutes waiting for a consultant to answer, the day after one bill was due they disconnected my whole service. I called & after another laborious wait on hold complained about the validity of the disconnection, received an apology & reconnection - that aside I still have reception issues to the point of why do I even have the service still? - disgruntled, Clifton Hill Victoria

A couple of months ago, as soon as my calls connected, the phone cut out and that was that. No calls could me made or received. Both my husband and I are with vodafone so we were unable to contact anyone for a week or so. I rang a number of times and complained that there was no point having a contract with vodafone if I couldn't ever make or receive calls and the best I got was 2 months credit for both of us. What's the point of credit if you can't use the phone though!!
CAn anyone confirm if they have successfully been able to get out of their contract???? AS much as it pains me, I think a switch to Telstra is the only option if in Tassie.

Failed service for two days.
Sent SMS to advice free calls for 24hrs to compensate for the loss of service for one of the days. Only for vodafone to also send a txt straight after about my bill being emailed - the amount due & due date - made me furious! Who says I'm sorry takes a breathe & then tells you to pay up *_*

So i've been on the $79 cap for about 24 months and every month my bill has been in the hundreds. I dont exceed the usage and no one can answer my questions/cant get ahold of anyone. Recently i paid my $130 bill and a week later i get a message from vodafone saying that I owe $188 in charges on top of my cap? I log into my account and it says i owe $0.00 . But then it says in my "Spend since last bill" $127. I APPARENTLY HAVE WASTED $600 OF USAGE IN A WEEK? I USE MY PHONE IN MODERATION. COOL THANKS VODAFONE. I LOVE PAYING HIGH BILLS WITH NO EXPLANATION. LUV YA.

i just signed up on a 24 month plan which came with a free nokia n97 mini. i was supposed to recieve a 50% discount for the first 12 months of my $29 a month plan. my first bill is over 41 dollars. when i rang it said there was a 41 minute wait to speak to someone. i waited patiently but at 29 minutes, the line went dead!!! i rang the next day, andf discovered the discount had not been applied and that they were going to transfer me to the " discount activation centre". guess what? that dept wasnt open!! eventually i spoke to someone else, and they have said my discount will apply from the timew i rang upo instead of the time the plan started. also, using the internet on my phone is CRAP!! whats the point of having sat nav on your phone when the service is TOO SLOW to make it work!!! it takes up to 54 minutes for one page of facebook to load...VODAFGONE YOU ARE RIPPING ME OFF

Rubbishly slow connection is now a can't connect one. Phone them up, get told it will take over 30mins to get through so they can call me back. Start entering my vodaphone mobile number, and it says, after 3 digits, that its an invalid number. Try again, and get disconnected before I have entered it. Phone them back, this time hanging on and get disconnected after 21 mins waiting. Phone them again, leave landline number. 1.5 hours later, get called back by someone who doesnt understand english, gets me to reset my phone to factory, before saying I should back it up, then fails to fix my problem anyway!

Have been told "you are in a high speed service location" but thats rubbush! Not much faster than my old dial-up modem. They just wont admit to a problem!!

Signed to Vodafone nearly 18 months ago. Had next to no coverage in the house. Was told at the time that the network is being upgraded and to sit tight. Now, it's just as bad as it was and getting worse in areas that I had coverage before. Especially near North Melbourne station, and along between South Yarra and Caulfield stations. Used to work fine, now is ridiculous.
4079 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Extremely at 27 Dec 2010 05:20:25 PM
We have no coverage when we are in our house, so nobody can get hold of us on our mobiles when we are inside. We have to go outside and stand in the street if we want to make calls or receive a signal, but if you look on the coverage map of Vodafone, we have no problems with signal according to them. We are paying but the service is very poor.

My current handset keeps dropping in and out. I took it into vodafone who told me it was 2 days out of vodafones replacement warranty and that I had to take it to the other side of town and go without a phone until it was fixed. I don't have time to do this. Or Christ sake it was only 2 day, how bout giving some service. And to add to this it just keeps dropping out and usually after I have been on hold for over an hour to vodafone custom service. When u do finally get to talk to some one they keep transferring u around. I will be taking my phone and Internet to another provider who's coverage is actually good

Well i returned from holidays in nov 2010 and since then the coverage and use of internet on my phone has been painful. We took a trip to the southcoast over xmas and i am lucky i didnt need to make any urgent/emergency phone calls as i couldnt get connection and had to switch off my phone and switch it on to get network. The google map on my phone is useless as the coverage dissapears and therefore unusable. Same for the internet. This short trip made me feel i should voice my concern. Imagine a family on holiday driving along and need to make an emergency call and because of vodafone's appaling service cant connect. I thought mobile phones made life easy but not with vodafail.
4072 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Extremely at 27 Dec 2010 05:19:53 PM
I was loyal to Vodafone for over 10 years. I went camping with a mate and my phone was thrown in the fire. I sat on hold with their 'upgrade' department for 35 minutes before I was cut off. I called back again and spoke to an operator who told me I would have to wait another 25 minutes. I decided to just go straight into a Vodafone shop instead. I called first to make sure my upgrade could be done from the shop, and was told there would be no problem. After sitting there doing all the sign up stuff for 15 minutes, I was told it could not be done. I am now with Telstra and let me tell you, my phone now works everywhere on calls, which it certainly didn't with Voda. My broadband works everywhere, even in the country town where I grew up, which Vodafone had no chance in. My advice is to get the hell away from Vodafone as fast as you can. They are absolutely hopeless, with absolutely no customer service skills, and I would like to stab Lara to death.

Been with vodafone for over 10 years now. Since hitchens had bought out the companies and merged with 3 network the vodafone service is poor. Reception issues. Full reception but cant call or talking and suddenly it drops out. This is crap as i run a business and are always on the run from job to job and need my mobile to operate my business. Data speeds are slow and takes forever to open up the first page its like it needs to warm up and old computer so it runs on optimum speeds. Not very happy and i just recently signed up again to upgrade my plans and get a new phone. I think i will take this to the ombadsmen so i can brake the pathetic contract i signed and move onto someone else who has better ratings. This is not good enough anymore and its been going on for too long now.

4063 Someone from NT thinks vodafone is the worst at 27 Dec 2010 05:18:49 PM
I thought Optus was terrible in Darwin. I had no reception in my house in the northern suburbs. I contacted the TIO and Optus released me from my contract finally because I did not have adequate reception. So I went back to what I thought was trusty Vodafone. Apart from being lied to on contract sign up (which I found out later) the reception and data speed was OK. But it has progressively declined to the point where like all of you I am paying for a service I do not get. I have had a few heated conversations with vodafone over a number of issues but nothing is to be resolved. I was in Adelaide CBD 2 weeks ago and there was no service at all! This is when i first found out the extent of the problem as it was all over the newspaper. I will be moving to Telstra despite paying a premium to ensure I have a service. It seems like in telecommunications, you really do pay for what you get now. How sad the ACCC and TIO and others have let things get to this stage.

Eventually I went to Nokia and they immediately diagnosed the problems including a faulty battery (which was now out of warranty). I'm pretty sure all Vodafone did was wiped it and re-installed the software. They suck. Coverage is terrible. Internet is slow.
4053 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Moderate at 27 Dec 2010 05:17:39 PM
I have been with vodafone over 5 years now, over this period they have made no progress is service coverage. I live in a regional town but one that is far from remote. When you sign on a cap plan you are then bound by breaking fee to this product, since my latest sign optus have upgraded their services as have all other mobile providers. I am at home without service so my my is only getting 50% at most prouctivity. This is unacceptable.

4047 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is ridiculous. at 27 Dec 2010 05:17:05 PM
Called Vodafone customer service last month... had to hold for 45 minutes. When I finally got through, I asked to downgrade my iPhone plan (I was the $59 cap, but only use a quarter of my calls, texts, data etc, so I figured it'd be wise to make my bills cheaper by downgrading). The consultant put me on the infinite $65 plan (I clearly DID NOT ask to UPgrade my plan and for MORE stuff I don't use... retard!) On top of this, instead of making my bills cheaper, it made them more expensive - due to the GST on top of the $65 cap. And now.. I can't change back to my original plan.
Gooooood service.
Gooooood service.
