Dear visitor,
Since its inception Vodafail.com has made a significant
contribution towards raising awareness of the problems and issues faced
by Vodafone customers.
Vodafone Australia customers have had the opportunity to voice their concerns, their fears and their troubles from every corner of Australia and beyond our borders.
You have gathered the courage to stand up for your rights as consumers and to make your voice heard.
Each and every person who shared their story should have a sense of pride in this achievement and the changes that have occurred since the start of Vodafail.com.
More recently, traffic to Vodafail.com has declined significantly.
Having achieved the goal of raising awareness and promoting concrete action in early 2011, we have now reached the point of closing Vodafail to new complaints.
The site will remain online for as long as possible as a
reminder and an example of what is possible when we share our experiences.
It has been a privilege to run this initiative
and I'm am forever grateful for the help and support I've received. In
particular I would like to thank Melissa, David and Travis for their
continued efforts over the past 15 months. I'm also thankful and humbled by the support of ACCAN, Choice magazine and a wide range of media outlets, blogs and websites.
You can still browse existing stories and find out how to file a complaint if you are experiencing problems.
Until next time,
Adam Brimo

I've been with Vodaphone 2 years too long. After calling up regarding my signal stoping out, Internet working 10% of the day and text messages failing I called the call centre. After 45 minutes got palmed off 3 times. 62 minutes later I p throughout p someone and demands to speak to a TL. Waited another 12 minutes to be told the team leader was on another call and would call me back. Asked for the employees I no an was told her first name only. Asked to be called after 5pm. This was over a week ago and still no phone call. I am so sick of Vodaphone!
28 Dec 2010 09:29:04 PM: Hehe, that reminds me of one of my experiences with Voda call centre, I asked the rep to call me after 5pm Sydney time, she asked me 'so what time is that in India?' maybe thats why you haven't received the call back?! Moving call centre to India was the start of the end for Voda.
7781 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is As poor as Aussie cricketers at 28 Dec 2010 09:16:40 PM
I cannot make any calls from home with my Vodafone sim because there is absolutely no reception. I have to drive 1km each time I want to make a call. I had no such problems with Optus.
It is apt that Vodafone sponsors Aussie cricket. And just like them - they promise a lot but deliver nothing

Each time I recharge my prepaid service, I get thank you and marketing sms' sent to me - unfortunately between 2am and 5am Perth time! I've complained and sent mails to vodaphone, but no-one responds. The local store advises they cannot do anything but send mails to their channels as well, basically no help at all, and I cannot turn my phone off at night as I am on call.
7779 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is reception & bad customer service at 28 Dec 2010 09:16:04 PM
My reception is absolute rubbish it cuts out even inside my home if I call it from my home phone I get a response that my phone is switched off when it isnt. My brother also has a dispute of unbelieveably high data usage. They cut off his plan. We dont know what has been dowloaded, we have to wait untill the bill is generated at the end of the month whilst paying the monthly instalment even when the phone is blocked and he is not given his credit entitelment in calls. Customer service hasnt even botheres contacting us back after 6 phone calls trying to sort this out!

we use the usb modem from vodafone and after using it for 3 years now with constant problems like being kicked off the net not being able to connect to a server and drop offs and no download or upload speeds, and when you ring vodafone you get put through to an indian call centre to people who have very strong accents and they wont admit it is vodafone at fault always wanting you to do the same checks with them over the phone on your computer and then when nothing is resolved they promise to get someone to call you back whic off coarse they dont its no wonder so many people are getting frustrated with the lack of good a good internet server we only chose them as we were told they were the best ones for our area what a joke so dont use them for internet
7776 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Not Happy at 28 Dec 2010 09:13:40 PM
I had been a Vodafone pre-paid customer up until 4 months ago, when I decided to go on a contract with them for the new iPhone.
Up until recently, I always valued Vodafone as my provider. However in the process of changing over to contract I was confronted with the worst customer service I have ever recieved from any place I have ever been. I was promised delivery in 2 weeks, and after 4 weeks it still hadnt arrived. Each time I called (after 1 hour in a queue) I got the response that 'I would recieve mine in the next batch that was to come in stock.. I ended up asking to speak to a manger which in turn got my phone delievered within 2 days and also had a credit applied to my account for the delay.
Since being on contract, I have had poor reception in places where I used to have full reception, my voicemail messages are always delayed, and the internet connection is extremely slow.
Vodafone have excellent deals and all my friends and family are with them, so we take advantage of the free Vodafone to Vodafone talk. however if it was not for that, I would definitely have changed providers.
I expect to recieve what I pay for!

7775 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is EXTREME FAIL at 28 Dec 2010 09:12:39 PM
I've been getting constant call drop outs and sometimes can't even get through at all. There's been some text messages that never even got to the recipient, and I thought they were just being rude and not responding! So I went to my local vodafone shop to ask the guys there (because it's almost impossible to get through to the customer service hotline). At first they blamed my iphone 4 saying these things are notorious for reception issues so I'd just have to put up with it! But I showed them the case I had on it so it shouldn't be having reception issues due to the phone so they changed their story and told me that vodafone was upgrading the local tower. Then I posted on facebook to see if others on the same network had the same issues and found loads of others thought the vodafone network service was crap too! And to think I bought the vodafone shop guy's BS story about them upgrading their towers!

I regularly make a Skype video call from my 30Mbps Cable connection which is very reliable and always incredibly fast to someone who has a Vodafone Wireless USB Modem. Over past 6 months the quality of the video has deteriorated and often the audio is terrible.
(To the nerds - I've mapped a port through my router so I don't ever connect through to a super node.)
It's so frustrating when the other persons connection is so terrible. They have tried speaking to customer service but get no where. I thought the ACCC required Internet connections to be a certain speed to be classified as broadband. HOW CAN VODAFAIL CALL THEIR INTERNET BROADBAND - ITS SHIT BAND!

Turramurra is a massive reception black spot from the train station to the surrounding area and the Pacific Highway.
3G drops in and out practically everywhere.
The one place I get great reception is while in the Epping-Chatswood tunnel.

I read it somewhere else here but to reinforce it DON'T BELIEVE Vodafone staff if they offer you free credits. Its a lie, you will NEVER see the credits. It's a quick way for them to shut you up and stop you complaining and most people get too busy and simply forget to check their bill / automatic payments. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!!!

I am in Real Estate and my phone is my lifeline. I was told by Vodafone staff that their coverage was excellent in Baldivis and surrounding area's. It is not, it is very very poor and my phone often drops out without warning. Sometimes my message bank does not filter the messages through for 24 hours. It is not and unfortunately because I can't tolerate Telstra I feel I don't have many options. I know that I have lost business and possibly frustrated many clients, not to mention myself!
7759 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Total Fail at 28 Dec 2010 09:00:24 PM
I'm embarrassed by vodafone. I got an iphone 3gs, but the internet is useless, unless I'm on wifi. I have tried several times with voda customer support, but the old "Re-install the software" line became tiresome after the third try.
What makes it worse is that I used to work in the industry. I am an ex crazy johns employee. I can tell you all that as bad as the snow job is to customers, it's even worse to front line staff. I remember a meeting with the state retail manager of Victoria, where she explained the procedure of demonstrating phones, where a customer can test one out, and it goes back into the box, to be sold to another customer. There are very few dedicated demo phones, and customers are buying a phone that other people have played with all the time. I asked for clarification on this and was told that "They don't need to know." I quit soon after.

I came to vodafail on a contract 6 weeks ago living in Sydney.
Every 2nd to 3rd call fails usually with the person I'm trying to talk to not being able to hear me but I can hear them. I have to call them again usually a few times before it works.
I'm in Hervey Bay at the moment and 3G doesn't work at all or any of my apps that need it. I'm getting the usual drop outs including to vodafails help desk.
I did manage 1 call which lasted 1 1/2 hours but that was on hold to the help desk and guess what happened to that call ........ correct.

7753 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Catastrophic at 28 Dec 2010 08:57:32 PM
I was with Vodafone for 2 years on a contract, it was my first mobile phone. The last year of that contract I could not make any phone calls or recieve any calls due to lack of reception, coverage etc. I could only text for a year and even they would sometimes be recieved by friends hours later. Put simply, I would get better reception putting my sim card into a rock. After calling vodafone and being able to experience their wonderful customer service whereby I am constantly put on hold for hours at a time, I decided to give up and wait for my contract to end. Once it expired I actually had to still call them and get it cancelled. This was the funniest part because the informed vodafone employee I had "didn't have the authority" to cancel my contract which was already expired, I think he didn't have the ability to complete his job. Anyway he puts me on hold for an hour or so as usual and I hang up and get my brother to ring and ask for the latest phone from vodafone and no surprises here no put on hold he vets straight through to the salesman. I got a new phone with telstra and vodafone continues to send me bills even though it's expired and I am no longer using the phone. Good job vodafail.
7752 Someone from TAS thinks vodafone is MEGAFAIL at 28 Dec 2010 08:55:42 PM
I currently use a prepaid usb dongle. I have been travelling to Hobart, Launceston for work purposes for a few years and signed up on contract due to the positive spin the sales people told me here in Hobart. They said a while back that Hobart/Tas was getting a major 3g upgrade. This of course didnt happen until a couple of years ago. I decided not to renew my data contract and went prepaid which is cheaper. The service is awful and data never gets above 50k. I have tested all areas of Hobart and the northern part of Tas and never been happy with the speeds. They must have very thin data pipes to their sites. I feel I have been conned. I will not be recharging my Voda card. I will stick with Telstra as I have their prepaid card as well. I would suggest if you want great coverage and dont mind paying extra stay well clear of Voda.

I'm with 3 and they recently merged with vodafone. They used to use the Telstra towers and I never have troubles....since they merged with Vodafone, I've had so many troubles with calls not connecting and messages taking forever to send and the internet has been taking forever to connect. Should I call 3/Vodafone to see if they can do anything or is it a lost cause and i should just give up?

I had a Nokia E63 with Vodafone Pre Paid, and I was told that I would have coverage on par with Telstra in Tasmania. Needless to say that Vodafone's 3G Coverage is like 2 bars out of 5 in Hobart, and 3 bars out of 5 for Standard 2G GSM. I left Vodafone and went to Telstra, and I can tell you now that the coverage is 200% better than Vodafone. Vodafone's Customer Service Lines are now outsourced overseas, and if you try and call you are ether on hold for ages (shortest I experienced was to have Voicemail removed was 40 minutes - TIMED. Countless times I have called and the call was terminated. I know it was terminated because I was using handsfree and I had ample coverage (believe it or not), I heard the greeting and then the call was terminated... before the issue was explained let alone resolved.
MAKE THE MOST OF NOW??? NOT WITH VODAFONE. Obviously Ricky Ponting is Captaining the Team that deals with Coverage and Customer Service.
The problems started when they started when they started when they started outsourcing their customer service lines to Mumbai, India, Egypt. When it was in Hobart - Service, Price and Coverage were brilliant. Never had a problem. Start sending Customer Service to Overseas and that starts to fail and then the prices go up. Merge with 3 who doesn't want to cover Tassie... then your service coverage begins to fail.... I am starting to see a Pattern here Vodafone!

My mobile coverage over the past few months has been terrible. It drops out, never has service, sends the same MMS 15 times (still says "unable to send") and the Internet is never available!! The only reason u have put up with all of this is because I am in a contract. My husband finished up with his vodaphone contract last week and has now change to a different server, I can't tell you how jealous I am. My husband went overseas in July when I was 6mths pregnant, do you think I could ring out when I needed him? Nope.
Not to mention out USB Internet dongle!! Mmm where have I put that thing I pay for monthly that NEVER works? We pay for this service and I think I have only surfed the net 3 times this year, I have given up. It is UNFAIR that we are looked into these contracts (3 in my household alone) and can't get out of them!

I was with Vodafail after they charged me full rates after 18 months being undercharges without telling me on my international calls to the USA. I complained to the Telecommunications Ombudsmans after vodafail wouldn't do a thing about it. The ombudsman was useless and all i got was a $50 credit on my pre-paid. They failed to engaged my international roaming whilst on holidays and then had the gall to charge me $25 for leaving a non-contract pre-paid phone

Join Vodafone from 3 and life is much different and exciting.
Connect to Herald Sun on my mobile and have a relax morning coffee, come back 5 mins later and the site it's ready.
Calls dropped even before I want to finish the conversations, more free time.
Went out with some blokes, and than got message at 3am from one of the guy. Thought I am sexy and the guy is gay, so exciting (after reading the mess I found out that he sent it around 8pm not 3am)
Cant call customer service as my phone will be hot and out of battery before the excellent service I may get.
Went to a Vodafone shop, complain that I have very slow 3G speed, the guy look and say you are on Emergency (E) not 3G. That explains everything and clear my head.
Offer to come back to 3 but they said it's very difficult and costly.
For all the "exceeding" expected services and help making my life different. I also try to help Vodafone to improve their service by registering to join the class action.

Anywhere out of Sydney I have the WORST reception. Even in my house in Kingsford half the time I have no reception. One the Central Coast I used to have great reception, now I have shit all - not even internet on my mobile.
Oh and the handset I got on my contract keeps failing as well. Great!

I signed up for a 2 year contract with Vodafail around August / September. Come October I receive my bill by email with a banner at the bottom claiming that if I add a 2nd mobile to my account I will get 2 months free access.
As my partner was in need of a new phone I signed up for the 2 months free access deal.
The November bill arrived - containing charges for BOTH plans. I figured paying for the 1st months access then getting the next 2 free was reasonable. So I paid that one.
Then the December bill arrives..... ANOTHER charge for the "free" access mobile.
It was time to call "customer support" (which I usually try to avoid doing as the whole LARA process makes me angry... But that's another complaint all together.) After leaving my number and receiving a call back about an hour later (so much for their 16 to 25 minutes) I explained to the lady on the other end about the deal and the bills. She put me on hold for another 20 minutes only to come back and tell me that the deal does not exist.
I brought her attention to the emailed bill I have received direct from Vodafail offering this deal and offered to forward it to her. I was put on hold for another 35 minutes...
When she came back she told me that yes, it does exist and that (apparently) my next 2 bills will be credited - but I still have to pay the access for this month's bill.
Let's see when / if this credit will appear. If it doesn't appear on my next bill I will be contacting the TIO.

I switched to Vodafone from telstra network about 2 yrs ago, with an understanding from vodafone customer service person that there will be no difference in overall reception in the network and call quality will be the same.
however, soon after I started using it, I was very frustrated with the poor network reception, call drop outs. As I am a medical practitioner on frequent emergency duties, it really made me very anxious over last two years and most of the time I have to make several calls myself to Emergency department in the middle of night to make sure they are not making unsuccessful attempt to reach me (because of highly unreliable Vodafone network). I had no such trouble with my previous service provider.

Long story short... Joined Vodafail five years ago and they were good at the time (as long as i stayed in the CBD of Sydney). Two year ago they upgraded me to a Blackberry and it all fell apart. No coverage, late texts, no 3G, no email service, a warranty repair, three attempts to return handset only to be told they wouldn't accept. I live forty minutes from Sydney CBD and apparently have full coverage in my area, it eventually got to the point where my work gave me a Telstra phone (ironically another blackberry) and this solved all my problems. After seeing the news story about this website i rang Vodafone and complained, they gave me $79 credit and asked me to renew my contract. I'm still laughing at their balls to ask me that. I'm switching to prepaid with any other carrier i can find. Teach them a lesson and take your money else where.

VOID-A-PHONE must have already had complaints about the lack of coverage before offering such an incredible deal. Dont worry - I still get bad service but at least I get coverage. Phew

I've just purchased a brand new Nokia C3 for $99 from VODAFONE..It's only a week old and it's already playing up, I can hear people talk but they cant hear a word I'm saying..The only thing people can hear from my end is a crackling sound!! This was a total nuisance especially on Christmas day, I couldn't wish anyone a merry Christmas!! I pray that VODAFONE will resolve these pathetic little mishaps soon or 2011 will be a very bad year for them and their share holders!!
28 Dec 2010 08:45:13 PM: Although if you only pay $99 for a phone you kinda get what you pay for unfortunately
28 Dec 2010 08:59:43 PM: Yeah thats true but the phone should of at least lasted for more then a week lol it doesn't matter lucky enough Ive kept the receipt i'll just get them to replace the phone...Keep positive people =D
28 Dec 2010 09:48:21 PM: If it is a phone issue you can't blame Vodafone. It is Nokia's fault for supplying a faulty phone.
28 Dec 2010 10:20:22 PM: ^ finally someone whos logical!
28 Dec 2010 11:05:50 PM: How is the actual hardware of the Nokia Vodafones fault? Either way, if the phone is under 28 days, take it into a Vodafone store and demonstrate the problem to them. They can then authorize an ELF swap to the same handset.
29 Dec 2010 03:07:02 PM: So true, last time i looked Vodafone didnt make phones. Could be any network carrier with the same problem with a handset.

It has come to a stage of where we are considering cancelling all 4 contracts with Vodafone and look for alternatives.
With all the coverage this has recieved I will give them the benefit of the doubt for another 4 weeks but if it continues they can expect cancellations from me - contatct or no contract

I come from Easter Europe, my country has only existed as such for 20 years, and the telecom service providers are miles ahead in their development. I have a Vodafone USB "broadband" modem. Service was generally ok up to about September 2010. From then, frequent dropouts began to occur. It became totally unacceptable by December. Dropouts resulted in internet bank transactions failing - you are uncertain if the transaction was valid or not. Dropouts caused my internet bank account to be locked out as I attempted to login while there were dropouts (unknown to me until I checked my ping log). I also use my ISP access to talk over Skype and to assist computer users via remote control. This became completely impossible in December due to the frequent dropouts which lasted anywhere from 10 seconds to 10 minutes.

I went to a mobile phone outlet in order to get a mobile plan about 3 years ago. I made it extremely clear to the salesperson that I needed it to cover the area in which I lived. She said to me that Vodafone would and if it did not, I could cancel the contract. Of course it did not work and when I contacted her, she said I could get an antenna from a 3rd party to help me. When I called the Vodafone customer centre, they laughed at me and said it was not their responsibility. I was stuck with the plan and whenever I missed a payment, Vodafone let me know about it. When I sent them an email, they told me I had to call them to discuss. I gave up. Our current provider, although not perfect, always helps and will consider a bill reduction in certain events. Vodafone is obviously as good as the current Australian cricket team it sponsors.

Besides the recent WA outage. I notice the data is slow, sometimes almost as slow as the older, GPRS/EDGE. Calls drop out every 5 to 10 minutes, ending with a very load BE BA BEEP noise. While the coverage is 'ok' it is almost NEVER at full bars on Dual-Band 3G OR 2/2.5g. When I lived in Adelaide it usually sat at 3 or 4, in Albany it is now 2 to 3 bars. The Telstra/Optus phone I have are both at 5. Vodafone is bloody shocking, and I want to leave the contract... guess I will have to wait it out.

i have recently changed to vodaphone due to their great deals (infinate calls etc) but i have rarely been able to use my phone due to coverage issues, dropouts etc.

I also have coverage issues from one street to the next within the hervey bay region. Vodaphone get your act together.

7708 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is EXTREME!!! at 28 Dec 2010 08:28:06 PM
After I switched to vodafone on the 2nd June 2010 I have experienced nothing but trouble. My family and I were going back to WA for a holiday, so I was suppose to be entering into a contract where i would receive good coverage. They told me it would be 98% everywhere, what a joke. The phone dropped in and out, messages were being received anywhere from 1-5 hours later, not to mention the next day. Phone calls were missed, unable to be made or I would have to try again later as my service just dropped in and out. All this for $69 a month, I honestly thought this could be fixed. How wrong could I have been. It has been such a joke really, they have asked me to remove my sim card and try it in another Vodafone on numerous occasions, told me it was the iphone, told me any thing, but it would always come back to being my fault. They would tell me they would have a Tech Support Officer call me, when, in 2015. The amount of phone calls that i have made since taking this contract is ridiculous. The straw that broke the camels back was the beginning of April this year when my 15yr son broke his ankle at school at 10am. After the school had been trying to contact me for hours, I finally recieved the first message 5 hours after the incident, REALLY GLAD IT WASN'T LIFE THREATENING!!! My argument since has been, what if something worse had happened to one of my children or husband, now I really do know that I am only a number to this company. Vodafone still did NOTHING about the problems after this "No Service". Phone continually comes up with "Service Lost - Vodafone no longer your provider" this is something I seemed to have got use to,WRONG.. I rang Vodafone on the 22nd Dec 2010 and was on the phone for over 2hrs, lucky I rang from my land line or it would have been a waste of time (mobile would have dropped out). The Tech Support guy gave me a case ID and told me he would call back on the 24th Dec 2010. During this time, I was to once again record all details of phone calls made and received as well as texting. If I still experienced the same problems when he called back, then they would waive my contract and my next bill. Remember $69 a month since June 2009, and my payout figure is now $372.
Vodafone did text me on the 24 Dec 2010, but I could not call the 1555 number as funny, I didn't have service, why send you this ridiculous number when you can only call it from your Vodaphone account, well you can only do this if you have service right!! Christmas Day no service, Boxing Day no service, 27th no service 28th today guess what Service has done nothing but drop in and out still can't do a dam thing. Have just got of the phone from Tech Support and after 18months of this am now finally getting somewhere. They will now wave my next bill and my payout figure, but I had to return my Iphone after 18 months of paying $69 a month for a service that very very rarely worked.
When i refused and told them that i would take it further (courts), they relented and came back to me and told me I could now keep the iphone and that they will cancel the contract and waive all bills.
No, I'm not holding my breathe just yet, we will wait and see if Vodafone will keep their word. I will, in the mean time keep my phone and find myself another provider.

Since the 1 October 2010 and written correspondence from Vodafone, saying that it was due to storm activity that I could not receive calls. I have been told blatant lies and have been treated like an idiot from their customer team in Mumbai. I have been with Vodafone for over 20 years and their customer care in the last three months has been appalling. I have to pay to get out of my contract because I received a phone

ALL my MMS text messages on Christmas day were failing. ALL of them. This has happened rather frequently in the past too !
7703 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is complete rubbish!! at 28 Dec 2010 08:26:32 PM
poor reception, drop outs, the internet service using the usb drive is just as poor as its phone coverage. when i call for help i am put on hold for literally hours and then given no satisfactory reposnse as they simply pass me from person to person (thats if the call does not drop out). i used to be with 3 and given that apprently vodaphone has taken over their towers and has included free roaming in my plan i was expecting excellent reception. i can not understand this terrible service and i am not happy!!
7702 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Very Annoyed at 28 Dec 2010 08:26:15 PM
We have all the same problems as everyone else. No signal or hardly any in side or outside the house. Batteries not lasting. Taking a long time to get to get data downloads depending on where you are. So in the end went another service provider which is now costing more money. And we still pay for a service which is useless. Was told the coverage was better than it ever was. In the end a waste of money and time.

7700 Someone from WA thinks vodafone is Incredibly Poor at 28 Dec 2010 08:26:07 PM
Their reception is poor, their plans are poor, their merge with 3 is bad for the public and therefore poor, their "VodaCare" or help line is VERY poor and Vodafone as a mobile service is well, you guessed it.. poor. FIX or loose me as a customer!!!

7698 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is common sense people at 28 Dec 2010 08:25:15 PM
Seriously just use a bit of common sense. The monopoly of phone companies in australia is not held by vodaphone. So they obviously cant afford and will not have the same level of reception as other companies. Before I signed up to a contract I did a little research and in my area vodaphone barely gets reception...so I signed on with one of the larger companies... common sense. Also although there is less reception around there prices are much cheaper.
28 Dec 2010 08:27:02 PM: I do not have reception issues - like you, I checked this before signing up. I have been a Vodadone customer for many years. It's only been the last 12 months where almost every call drops out. Not something you realise until after you've signed the contract.
7697 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is vodafone is weak at 28 Dec 2010 08:24:40 PM
i require constant phone service for my second job as it is how i'm notified of jobs and i am constantly missing them due to poor reception at my house and surrounding areas.the voicemail messages eventually come in but by then i am already late for the job.sms messages and messages that have attachments take on average 1-2mins to send if i'm lucky.finally i have trouble accessing google, facebook etc on my phone in most areas and when i'm lucky enough to get on there it is slower than a wet week.in the new year i will be switching to another carrier as this is a disgrace.
7696 Someone from ACT thinks vodafone is at 28 Dec 2010 08:24:39 PM
Do you guys honestly think by writing your issues or complaints will solve the issue?? Call 1555!
28 Dec 2010 08:41:17 PM: Did that was on hold for over 50mins then told it was a technical problem and to call the technical team which of course was not open. But then the man on the phone said there was nothing they could do about that but is there anything else i can do for you. (no just fix the problem i have not had a phone call for over 3 day even though my hubby has tried to call many times).
7694 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is call drop outs at 28 Dec 2010 08:22:44 PM
I am finding it impossible to speak to people on the mobile without the call dropping out. I was talking for an hour today and the call dropped out 4 times. I find it annoying and quite embarrassing - as I have to keep phoning people back and apologising to them.
7693 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Receptionally Flawed at 28 Dec 2010 08:22:36 PM
After explicitly stating that i needed coverage in a particular area in NSW, and showed in-store, online on their "coverage map" that i would defiantly receive reception, i signed into a 24 month contract. The first time i traveled to the area at which i needed the reception, nothing, not a thing. It had been about 2 months after i had signed so i couldn't exit the contract. Vodafail.
7692 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is unreliable at 28 Dec 2010 08:20:50 PM
I've just recently switched from optus, after been with them over 10yrs, I've noticed a hugh difference with reception. It drops out alots. I also get texts late and some didn't even get through which resulted in me missing my appointment!! I've called the company directly about this but it's still happens, although less frequently. This is not good enough when I rely alot on my phone.
7691 Someone from WA thinks vodafone is at 28 Dec 2010 08:20:47 PM
I am absolutey fed up with vodafone. I am stuck with the contract unless I pay them out. They are in breech of their contract by not providing the service that we pay for. Why should I pay for it if I dont get the service. My complaints are: no.1 bad reception alot of the time No.2 call drop outs (alot of the time) No.3 No notification of calls coming through has been going straight to the voice msg bank Not even a ring! the following day the notification comes through this was 12 hours later !! & yes my phone was fully charged. ( I had no idea people rang me!!! I had missed calls whereby no notification came through for these even as missed calls. I work for an agency oncall to my horror one of the calls was for work which I did not recieve therefore missed out on work for the day !! And this is the service that I pay for ??? No. 4 when you ring customer service to get help these human robots continuously trouble shoot until you get so frustated...(a complete waste of time (the problems still exists today) then you realise "Hello!! this is as bad as it gets" for a phone company - Welcome to Vodafone or was i hearing right - VODAFAIL.
7690 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Fail Whale at 28 Dec 2010 08:20:46 PM
There is absolutely no coverage in Illawong where I work. You have to stand in a certain spot to get any signal then you can't be heard anyway. I have to use a 2nd phone with Optus to call or text. What a waste of $49pm. Been putting up with this for over 2 years.
7689 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is VERY at 28 Dec 2010 08:20:08 PM
Bought a pre paid sim and had service approx10% of the time. Not good when its an emergancy phone for your 12 year old daughter. Needless to say I cut my losses and threw it out! Disgusting waste of my time and money spent on credit I could not use! Crap phone company.
7688 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is at 28 Dec 2010 08:17:54 PM
always have a very poor reception everywhere i go. Sometimes i can manage to call someone but half way through conversation it would just loose connection and get cut off.Very frustrating especially when you are having important conversation. It is the same with their internet coverage, most of the time can't even use my internet on my phone due to poor reception. Unhappy customer !!!!
7687 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Bad fail at 28 Dec 2010 08:17:54 PM
The mess I am in is my ohone has been dropping out for months. My friend and I are Voda to Voda and chat alot, so we figured Voda were punishing us by using the free system far too much. Then my friend decided it was my phone that was the trouble so I took it apart cleaned it, then bought a new battery ($25.00) AND paid another $25.00 to have the pin taken off another phone so I would have an emergency mobile. This has been going on for months and I have been tearing my hair out. All my time and effort made no difference to the problem, in fact I was ready to beg Voda to release me a little early from my contract so I could get a new phone (and contract). What a scmamozzle it has been !!
7686 Someone from WA thinks vodafone is Very Fail at 28 Dec 2010 08:17:31 PM
I signed up for an iPhone in May and have nothing but problems of which Vodafone has kept blaming the phone for. I constantly get told to reset my network settings as that will fix the problem. It does for about a day and then I have to put up with the dropped calls, call fails and then people calling me on my husbands number saying I have been trying to call you for three days and your phone has been off???? I run a business and my phone is on 24/7. BIG thanks for setting this site up and creating awareness. I used to work for Vodafone and this company was a fantastic place to work. Since the merge the service and attitude is not the one I remember working with only a few short years ago. My loyalty is wearing thin and it is breaking my heart. Bigger isn't necessarily better by the looks of things. It appears Vodafone shouldn't have gone near 3 that had a terrible reputation prior to the merge.
7685 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is extreme dissapointment at 28 Dec 2010 08:15:43 PM
i have been a customer of Vodafone for now 20 months. much like every one else i have made many complaints to vodafone with no real outcome. service dropping out, having to go to particular spots in the house to recieve and make calls/sms. i have sent back the vodafone storm as they tried saying it was that but still no change with a new bold. I believe that if it were not for me working away each week where i know only telstra works then i would of opted out a long time ago. i can assure you that i will not be resigning with Vodafone in 4 months when my contract is up for renewal. i feel the pain like many others and i hope that this site can make some difference to the so called customer service and honesty of Vodafone.
7684 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Abysmal at 28 Dec 2010 08:14:46 PM
I have given up contacting vodafone customer support some 12 mo ago - never been able to hear any one one the phone. Do not even dare to think about contacting them over the weekend - you'd be better off talking to the hand.
Separately I needed a copy of the contract with vodafone for service that I had bought through AllPhones. they advised me to go to AllPhones and ask for a copy from the shop telling me that they do not keep copies of contracts - hogwash!
They constantly keep changing at their will, without your authorisation your prepay setup so that the balance does not expire every month or so - ralroading you into buying more credit every month.
The reception in Melbourne city - appalling dropouts are everywhere. No reception in hospitals.

7683 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Pre-paid sim card fail to connect at 28 Dec 2010 08:14:33 PM
We are visiting australia for 5 days. Bought a sim card. First told it would take 4 hours to activate. Then 12 hours. And after 12 hours was just advised it will be another 12 to 24 hours due to a system problem, whatever that means.
They should stop selling these if they can't activate.
Now we're told we can get a refund for the $29 prepaid call but not the $2 for the sim card.
Useless for any travellers.

Is the poor service being provided not a public safety issue?
