26 Mar 2012 - Update Highest Rated Pain Stories Highest Rated Gain Stories Vodafail Local Facebook Page
Dear visitor,

Since its inception Vodafail.com has made a significant contribution towards raising awareness of the problems and issues faced by Vodafone customers.

Vodafone Australia customers have had the opportunity to voice their concerns, their fears and their troubles from every corner of Australia and beyond our borders. You have gathered the courage to stand up for your rights as consumers and to make your voice heard.

Each and every person who shared their story should have a sense of pride in this achievement and the changes that have occurred since the start of Vodafail.com.

More recently, traffic to Vodafail.com has declined significantly. Having achieved the goal of raising awareness and promoting concrete action in early 2011, we have now reached the point of closing Vodafail to new complaints. The site will remain online for as long as possible as a reminder and an example of what is possible when we share our experiences.

It has been a privilege to run this initiative and I'm am forever grateful for the help and support I've received. In particular I would like to thank Melissa, David and Travis for their continued efforts over the past 15 months. I'm also thankful and humbled by the support of ACCAN, Choice magazine and a wide range of media outlets, blogs and websites.

You can still browse existing stories and find out how to file a complaint if you are experiencing problems.

Until next time,

Adam Brimo

1182 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Very fail! at 20 Dec 2010 10:30:06 AM
I have been a customer pre-paid and contract all up for about 5-6 years! This is the worst service ever.
Am currently serving the last year of the 2 year contract I am one and for the last 4 months I have had drp outs, no service, web sites take over 5 minutes to load and most dont load at all, sms looking like they have sent but dont recieve.
I live in Hornsby NSW an area that recieves stantard service as per their website states.
Months ago I tried to call to report these issues. After several 45 minute waits and several drop outs while on hold - suprise suprise - I have been unable to speak to someone on the phone so I emailed in detail the problem only to receive some confusion automatic email asking me to fill in a form stating everything I just mentioned.
There was no mention of any technical issues.
This was the same story when I went into a VF store. Noone knew anything about it except for one staff member who told me I will just have to switch to 2G and that VF are doing maintainence to the towers and some customers will just have poor service and will have to live with it. Yeah I dont think so Vf read your contact people and use this against them.
So off the TCO I went and hopefully I will be out of my contact by Christmas. Best present I will ever receive!
Teltra here I come!

Have given up getting them on the phone. Am now going to go into store.

1176 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Effing huge at 20 Dec 2010 09:50:06 AM
For the past three months I've had the worst reception, both GPRS and 3G, from any time with any Telco in my life (equal with Orange perhaps). I have an iPhone 3G and web pages don't load and calls and message just don't work any more.
I called to complain a few weeks ago and they said they'd start and investigation into my reception, throwing in 100 excuses as to why it might be going so bad. They said my address was not a problem spot.
I had to argue that I didn't spend all day at home, that I move all over Sydney for work.
I then had to call back after 'resetting network settings' in my phone and swapping SIM cards. They also suggested it could be a faulty phone.
Anyway, so I called back and said the reports in the SMH made them look bad. I said "if a Vodafone spokeswoman admitted to the media the network has a software issue restricting the service, you've failed to meet your contractual obligations".
They offered me $15 credit to my account.
I said do better, because the past three months of no service cost me $240.
They offered me $35 credit.
I said transfer me to the contract cancellation department.
After being on hold for the 10th time, I got there.
The 10th Indian person answered and instantly began offering me new plans and phones.
"I just want to cancel the contract," I said.
She then offered me three months of free bills. By the time that period is up I'll have 2-3 weeks of my contract left.
I accepted it knowing I will go with another telco after that time.
Vodafone, it's been swell, but I hope you get swallowed up by a better telco.

Work from home in Richmone - 3121. Just got a new HTC Legend under the $45 infinite plan which is great. But phone and data flaky 15th to 19th Dec. Missed calls from office etc. Vodafone claimed an upgraded to the network was being done, and would be completed by 19th. It is better today, (20th) but cant believe how they would bring down the service and not tell me in advance or offer some sort of compensation. Amateur hour. Spend less money advertising on the Cricket and keep the existing customers with better service! BTW, still dont understand the usage and billing data on Myvodafone.

1171 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Lara needs a hearing aid at 20 Dec 2010 09:08:32 AM
If you're interested to get on an endless loop to nowhere, call 1555. Lara doesn't "quite catch that". You say "billing enquiry" and she's like "did you mean iphone problems". Worst customer service ever. You'll wait for over an hour to speak to a real person who is based in india. If they don't know how to answer your call they simply hang up. Very RUBBISH customer service.
If you go into the store on George street, expect serious attitude from the horrible staff that see customers as an inconvenience to their day.
Get it together Vodafone.

1169 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Rubbish Internet at 20 Dec 2010 09:01:09 AM
I haven't had calls drop out (sounds like I'm one of the lucky ones), but the internet access is awful! 3/4 bars of alleged 3G reception and keep getting 'no network connection' or 'the server can't be reached' constantly when I try accessing websites (I'm in the Brisbane CBD, not the middle of nowhere!).

Got so bad I had the firmware re-flashed on my phone because I thought it was a handset problem! Now I know the real cause - thanks for the website

SMS sometimes take days to come through, people try to call me and my phone is apparently switched off. Pretty much everyone I know with vodafone is having the same issues. I have been with vodafone for 10yrs now and I'm not quite ready to ditch them yet as this is the first time I've experienced issues. I have no problems making calls and my data speed is still great. Hopefully they will sort the problem out soon.

I upgraded my phone with Crazy John's who use the Vodafone network in June and from day one it's been failure. I can only get reception in one room in my apartment even though I live only 4 km from the CBD and even then it's nowhere near 100%. I'll have one - MAYBE two - bars of 3G, but sometimes zero. And often when hanging up from a call (If I've been able to get a line out, which can take multiple attempts) I'll see that it's showing the tower symbol not 3G anyway.
The number of times I have missed calls and only got a v/m notification HOURS later is too many to count. Same with text msgs - if they come in after 10.30 I'm too scared to reply in case it was sent hours earlier and I've just received it but it's too late to reply.
Downloading a podcast can take over half an hour here, whereas in Melb it took less than 4 mins!!
I have complained and complained and complained and the best they could offer was a reset remotely, and when that didn't work they made me send it off for two weeks and gave me the WORST loaner phone ever created while I waited, and then there was no improvement anyway. I don't know what else to do.
I shouldn't have to buy myself out of a contract when they are not providing a service. Surely they are in breach of contract and I should be compensated not punished???

In my office (ironically next door to vodofone HQ) I get full signal and NO SERVICE! Nothing works, no calls, no data, never... With a full signal? Come on Voda! WTF? VERY fustrating especially when you need the data connection for something important like banking. I can understand poor coverage but I think the issue is to do with Vodafone's data servers not being able to keep up with the load... STOP SELLING PRODUCTS YOU CAN'T SUPPORT VODAFONE!

Calls drop out all the time and then i will have no serivce for a couple of days. I cal them and after waiting an hour and a half on the phone the bloke told me to go to a vodafone store and get a blank sim. I told him i dont live near a vodafone store as i am in regional victoria and he told me to go to a store that sells vodafone sims and they will give me a blank sim. I questioned tihs and told him why would they give me a blank sim if they are not a vodafone store and he assured me they would. I went to the store and surprise suprise they told me where to go and did not give me a blank sim. I call back vodafone and waited on hold for 2 hours before i got through and told them they had lied to me and that they were not upholding their end of the contract by providing the service they advertise. They said they would send me another sim but it would take 7 days. I told them that in the past 12 months this has happened twice and i end up waiting 10 days for a replacement sim. They would not even credit me or compensate me for being without the phone for 10 days. I asked them to send me a couple of sims as this will happen again as it seems to happen every quarter where the sims fail, she told me they couldn't and it wasnt until i got really abusive and pissed off that she agreed to send me 2 sims. I had heard there was a problem with the vodafone network and checked their site and there was nothnig posted about any outages and when i questioned her she said there was no problems. I have since found out there were outages and they outright lied. I cant wait until my contract expires and i never have to deal with vodafone again.

I have been with Vodafone for over 10 years and in all that time have not had any problems UNTIL NOW !!!
After telling the NON-service people that I was having problems and believed it was due to a faulty network they went through the usual procedures - turn off you phone, take out the sim etc etc etc - they would not believe me that their network was the problem. I then went around my building and got the numbers of 13 other people on Vodafone and rang back the NON-service dept and confronted them with what I had found "Oh yes sir, since your last call we have been notified of a network problem " - what a load of CRAP.

I am now prepared to sign up with TELSTRA (never thought I would say that) because I can not go through this Vodafone crap any longer.

1154 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is You get what you pay for at 20 Dec 2010 08:04:35 AM
Let's face it, Vodafone are throwing an attractively priced "service" at the market. They have succeeded in saturating their already underperforming network as more and more new customers are conned into connecting to their generous plans. There is never a day that they do not have advertising in the press. While I am not contracted to them I have persevered through many of the usual service issues any other Vodafone customer would be only too familiar with. As soon as I can afford to spend more on communications I will be off to another provider...although as far as I can see they all seem to have their own set of issues.
The ACCC should definitely be looking into how Vodafone can spend so much on attracting new customers whilst spending next to nothing on supporting current ones. Their set up makes it next to impossible to report or get any positive action on service difficulties caused by their poor infastructure and lack of investment in a decent 3G network.

1152 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is WTF??? VODA!!!! Get your SHIT together! at 20 Dec 2010 08:04:15 AM
I only signed up roughly 2months ago now and ever since I've had my phone, it's been in and out of service ever since, even to this very day! During the three times I've gone in to a Vodafone store, they have each and every time treated me like I was an idiot. Like as if what I was saying was completely unheard of and what I was saying is untrue. Responses ranging from, "I've got the same phone, I've never had any problems" "Maybe its your phone, we will send it away for you," Let us change your sim" to have the same problems occur within the same day.
Funnily enough these problems started to happen within the week of signing up for 24months and now I'm regretting signing up as I was alittle skeptical at first to join Vodafone as I've been with Optus throughout my time with a mobile handset.I thought these problems were just startup problems and that they wil go away. Little did I know what I was getting into!!
I now know why the Vodaphone reps in store have been treating me like as if I am an idiot. Its because they knew the whole time that I wasn't the only customer complaining about their crap service and they were trying to hide it the whole time.
I can't believe nothing has been said or done to rectify the situation and now I'm stuck with a pathetic contract with absolute pathetic shit service!

Advise to NEVER go with VODAFONE!!

They are complete liars about your quality of service, and coverage. Basically after the merger last year, they have been trying to merge everyone on to the voda network from 3 without spending a cracker on upgrading the network as they hav'nt got cash or not willing to spend it. this means a doubling of subscribers overnight and with all the data services available, the old Hutch 3G can't cope either. cast your mind back about 12mths for those suckers that had 3 USB data sticks, remember how you couldn't get connection from 6pm-12am, due to congestion? Well guess what, now you got another 3million voda customers on the 3G network, hence why its so bad. The fact that its taken over 12months just to get a new services contract in place with the base station vendor NSN, tells you that they are behind the 8 ball with network upgrades. I could go on for another hr but wont. Just because you live in the inner city does not mean you will always have the best reception! Think about it when driving in traffic around the CBD you can't just say of this is a shit road they should fix it. Everyone is trying to get somewhere BUT all at the same time. You just have to sit there and wait. It's exactly like the network 100 of thousands of people all using it at the same time it can only do so much.

Honestly some other networks arnt like his because noone uses it, just wait till everyone moves across it's going to be exactly the same.

Everyone is going to telstra because they have great reception, wait till they arnt a government body anymore then you'll be laughing. The government won't be putting anymore money in then it's going to be shit.

Vodafone got all these issues since the major merge with 3 occured.
I waited untill my contract with 3 finished and I moved to Vodafone @ the time when they were merging together, and their bullshit was "We're merging the 2 companies for better network coverage" Now that's a lie.
they have over loaded their network without upgrading their reception equipments...

I got an Iphone4 which I originally thaugh that the reception issue was from the Iphone4, I got on to Apple who explained to me thje reception story / issue of vodafone about 3 month ago which I didn;t quite beleive him back then but Apple was kind enogh to swap my Iphone 4 with a brand new one JUST FOR MY OWN PEACE OF MIND !!!!!

However, I kept on having calls dropt out, people not being able to get hold of me, leaving me voice msg and the terrible part of it is you don't get these voice msgs directly, it could be 2 or 3 hours don the track to get them.

I have reported the issue to TIO, then I got someone from the Escalation team @ Vodafone working on that issue for me, they suggested a new sim card (Well what the point if I've only been with them for 4 months??? can't be the SIM that's causing these issues??)

Then was told that their Network / reception Eng team are investigating the issues and I got a call from one of these Eng people explaining that they have found a reception fault near where I live, but the issue is all over the place...

Guys, let's teach Vodafone a lesson.

You guys should complain about them to TIO and get them to cancel your contract with NO EARLY EXIT Fees

After numerous times on hold to the call centre (btw - vodafone don't have a 'complaints' department), promises of a refund for the month which then didn't materialise, and speaking to the technical people who denied there was a service issue and suggested the solution was to take my laptop in my car and drive a couple of blocks to see if I got better service there.... iPhone 3GS - dropped calls, constant "no service" messages when friends with the exact same phone and on non-Telstra providers have full signal, the most useless customer service around (and now outsourced, so even worse), nigh on incomprehensible bills that somehow ALWAYS exceed the monthly amount (I'm on an unlimited plan) and an online "portal" from the 1970's.

I have already applied to Telstra for a Business Unlimited Plan. $150, unlimited. A day after I applied a Telstra rep (from Australia) rang up and walked me through the process, as well as giving me his direct line.

That's called a proper company.

The reception is some bad it is not funny. Dropped calls, no net, just ridiculous.

The lies of the customer service reps, the false tests and the utmost waste of time is just mind boggling.

They cannot possibly continue to offer service contracts when the network cant even handle it!

They should be suspended from taking on new customers until such time as the network issues are resolved satisfactorily!

If you are with them get out... If you are not run...

I DO NOT get full service, barely 1 bar. I have an Autistic son who get's extremely frustrated when we can't make phone calls/calls drop out.
It has taken me 2years to get him to use a phone and he still has problems.

1129 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Worse that Fail at 20 Dec 2010 07:18:53 AM
Vodafone, aside from running a dodgy network, has partially or completely REMOVED HUMANS from its interactions with customers and COMPLETELY ABANDONNED ANY PRETENSE TO CUSTOMER SERVICE.

If you call Vodafone:
You will be answered by Lara (a computer program). She may or may not ever connect you to a queue where you can wait for a human. However, she sometimes connects you to another automated service that you don't want which will hang up on you. Frustratingly, when the Vodafone website tells you to call 1300 301 030 number, you get regular Lara, who does not know why you have called and does not help you find out who you should speak to.
LARA DOES NOT WORK and Vodafone KNOWS LARA DOES NOT WORK*, but you have to deal with her anyway.

If you email Vodafone:
To email Vodafone, you must complete a webform. The webform will NOT allow you to send the email until you have browsed FAQs - 3 SEPARATE TIMES.
IF you can send the email, you will probably receive an automated reply. This reply will inform you that, EVEN THOUGH you read the FAQs and did NOT find an answer, the answer to your question is in the FAQs. The email will then INFORM you that your question HAS BEEN answered. No human has looked at your question, and no human ever will.... unless you reply. If you are especially lucky, weeks after you send your email - Vodafone will send you another automated reply informing you that because it has taken so long to respond, you have probably fixed the problem yourself. Vodafone will then INFORM you that it considers the problem RESOLVED. The problem has so far been 'resolved' twice without any human reading your email... unless you reply AGAIN. Then, if you are super lucky, a human will read your email. However, due to all the long trail of correspondence required to get a human to read it, the questions in your original email have 'gone missing'. So, the human will invite you to reply AGAIN AGAIN to clarify what the original problem was. Judging by the length of time I have waited, your reply AGAIN AGAIN will probably go to the end of a very ling queue.**

If you take your complaint to the TIO:
Vodafone will eventually call you back. The human you talk to may well ask you if the previous people you spoke to were "from Australia", suggesting that they think this is important. In my case, I eventually managed to fix my original problem myself - by finally logging into the myVodafone website - HOWEVER I think it is very *likely* that Vodafone lied to me originally about the problem. LYING TO CUSTOMERS IS A PROBLEM. The Vodafone complaints department will NOT investigate that, and will NOT release the recordings of calls without a court order. Vodafone will usually charge $20 for a print out of your 'billing records' and it is not clear what this includes. They will also NOT correspond with you by EMAIL. Even the TIO complaints department will NOT provide any CONVENIENT & VERIFIABLE way to communicate with them.

IN SHORT:
Vodafone do not want to provide a human to deal with you. Ever.
Vodafone will not answer your questions.
Vodafone representatives may well tell complete lies, but it is very difficult to find out.
VODAFONE DEMONSTRATE CONTEMPT FOR YOU IF YOU WISH TO DO BUSINESS WITH THEM.

* A representative from Vodafone complaints department called Phil confirmed that Vodafone is aware that Lara is loathed and Vodafone plan to introduce a parallel system, but not until the end of February.
** I suspect this queue is made even longer by all the times you have to reply if you are really determined to get an answer in writing.

1128 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Worst Telco in Australia at 20 Dec 2010 07:16:45 AM
I've been with every major operator in Australia and Vodafone is by far the worst. My iphone is CONSTANTLY searching for service, OR, it says I have 3g connectivity but when I go to browse I get no connection. If it's not searching for reception it is saying I have reception only to not allow me to make any phone calls, I dial a number and wait endlessly for a dial tone. Then my messages wont send and I can't receive any calls.

I work in Sydney CBD near Pitt St mall. My office tower has a vodafone tower abuot 10 metres from my desk. Do I ever have good reception? NO. Does it contasntly drop out? YES. Do I have 3g? NEVER.... WTF?

I also get to enjoy the airport train line in my daily commute, be wary as the reception will only ever last about 5 seconds before it cuts out.

I'm getting speeds of up to 4mb/s download and 1mb/s upload. You are all just in denial and can't accept that your retarded. Is all your fault stop fruit to blame the company for your inability to use technology.
28 Dec 2010 08:48:29 AM: All these people are "retarded"? I am surprised that these"retarded" people have generally expressed themselves so clearly. As one of the "retarded", I think the previous poster is a Voodoofone stooge, not in denial, perhaps not even attempting "damage control" and very angry about the situation he/she is in and the sh!tstorm which is happenning. And none of us need to be any further abused by Vodafone or its employees.

The funny part was Vodafone couldn't even find ot contract, so the let us just walk away.

I've been with 3 almost since it began, and never had a problem. First with CDMA and then GSM, 3 was all good. Then came the merger, and it went pear shaped. I thought my phone must have been on the way out. In the middle of Macquarie Park, the hi-tech hub of Australia, surrounded by phone towers, it takes up to 10 attempts to make an outgoing call. Incoming calls - what are they? I've forgotten what my ring tone sounds like. People have to leave voice messages, and they can turn up within seconds, or a day later.
When I look out the window I can see the Optus building. I think it's a message.

1121 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Bloody disgrace at 20 Dec 2010 06:42:48 AM
I run a small law practice and as I work remotely, I depend heavily on the data service for emails. My emails sometime take up to 24 hours to be downloaded and I have contacted Voda 4-5 times and they keep on closing the fault after 5 days without any resolution. As I am on billable time, sitting for hours waiting for Voda customer service is revenue lost. As I close the office this week, I will make one last attempt to fix this, otherwise I will lodge a complaint with the Telecommuniations Industry Ombudsman, who has regulatory 'teeth' and the telcos are sensitive to the TIO as every complaint from the TIO costs them money. So the TIO is a good place to go if people are fed up with Voda's lack of service.

They waste your time by advising things like: do you live near a park? did you switch your phone off? or blame it on the SIM card, or you. This week has been the first time a person in a store has admitted that they have problems. in my experience this has been on going. As number portability is available I will now seek a way out to another service provider The plan to offer DROPPED CALLS is not a good deal by any means

I visited their store in Westfield Chatswood last week to sort out my issues that I have now found out everyone else has. The place was chaos. Many people standing around trying to get help while with all the issues I had and all the others here have. We were totally ignored because the staff were tied up signing up new customers (lambs to the slaughter). After 1.5 hours I finally got the attention of one young lady who could not answer my question. Then spent another half hour while she got the tech guy to try to help me.

The result? After a two hour wait the tech guy in the store told me to call the call centre. I said "But I tried that and they told me to come here" Tech guy "Yes, they do that quite a lot to get customers of the line and we have a lot of people come into the store because the call centre tells them to but they are wrong. We can't do anything here"

28 Dec 2010 09:06:46 AM: Would that make Vodafone a "looser"? I think a law firm involved in a class action against Vodafone would like to talk to people like that. You're not claiming to be a happy Vodafone customer, who just happenned to find this website, so, I am guessing, in my illiterate way, that you're a Vodafone employee or shareholder. As I ramble on,illiterately, I think company funds would be better spent fixing the problems. 1106 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is A Total Scam!!! BEWARE!!!!!! at 20 Dec 2010 05:13:27 AM
I got a no contract $99 a month uncapped plan from Vodafail. I was with them for three weeks before it became unbearable and lost so many business calls my clients thought I was on holiday. After 3 weekS I canceled and moved to Telstra. I called Vodafail to tell them I had moved and that I wanted my final bill sent to me pro rated for the three weeks of the month. I was told by their billing department that this would be done and I had nothing to worry about all was in order. Remember I was with them only 3 weeks on a no contact $99 plan using my own phone. They just sent me a sim I that I put in and used.

On Thursday I was horrified to receive an SMS from them two days later that my final bill was $186!!!!!

I reported it to the TIO and have been trying to get through to them to find out how this cost $186????

It is Monday morning and I have to run my business but I am faced with the horror and frustration of having to call that fucking call centre in India to again try to find out how they got the figure of $186 and dispute it. I never wanted to have anything to do with them again. I just wanted to pay the bill and never contact them again. But this $186 bill forces me to get back in the fucking endless line of people trying to get answers from Vodafail. And good luck trying to understand some of the very thick Indian accents some of those call centre operators have!

THE REAL PROBLEM IS THAT IF I DO NOT PAY THIS EXTORTION THE VODFAIL BASTARDS WILL PUT ME IN DEFAULT AND FUCKING KILL MY, UP TO NOW, PERFECT CREDIT RATING. EVERYONE BEWARE. NOT ONLY DO THEY NOT PROVIDE A SERVICE BUT SHOULD YOU NOT PAY THEIR BLACKMAIL THEY WILL RUIN YOUR CREDIT RATING AUTOMATICALLY.

WILL THE TIO PREVENT THIS FROM HAPPENING??? DOES ANYONE KNOW? I HAVE LODGED WITH THE TIO BUT WILL THAT PROTECT MY CREDIT RATING????
22 Dec 2010 08:57:24 AM: Send vodafone an email saying you have contacted the TIO and the charges need to be put on hold. They can not chase you for these charges once you have put a complaint in until the issue is resolved. And they shouldnt be able to put it on your credit rating.

See below what i received back from the TIO in regards to disputed charges. Hope this helps!
***If you are disputing charges on a bill, please ask ***** to put this part of your bill on hold (be sure to explain what and how much is in dispute). Virgin cannot ask you to pay these charges until your complaint is resolved, so please contact the TIO again if credit management action continues. However, please organise to pay the rest of your bills, because ***** can ask you to pay non-disputed charges.***
27 Dec 2010 03:51:37 PM: Offer to pay them $1 a fortnight, they will not bother as it will cost them more to process this payment.

The service has become a joke literally. Your lucky if you can maintain 30 seconds of talk time without your calling dropping off. I would consider you lucky if you can even maintain 1 bar of service throughout the day, as most of the day you will notice you can't even recieve phone calls due to the poor level of service available.

In addition I was overseas in the USA a few months back with my International roaming presumably activated however I was not able to make any outgoing or recieve incomming phone calls, I had to call vodafone and waited approx 1.5 hours on the phone and for them to hang up on me pretending its a drop off ridiculos service. I'm currently in the process of changing networks to any for that matter.

Apart from dropped calls, lack of signal and most of the symptoms mentioned here, I always pay the bills for two phones on the Vodafone web site which is fine until you are trying to pay the account in the month your credit card expires, because even if you are paying in the middle of September and your card's expiry is the end of September, the card has expired according to the web site. If you try and use your new card which starts in October, then the system declines the card altogether, so you cannot actually pay your bill at all. Even calling and finally getting through to the call center, even they could not help because they found the same situation that that could not overide. So their solution was to extend the due payment date to the 1st day of the following month. What moron wrote that system?

The crappy service or lack of from Vodafone over the past few months has been agonising. I thought it was my phone so I went out and bought a new phone only to discover it is not the phone but in fact the non existent service provided by vodafone. Calls drop out every 5 - 10 seconds, no network coverage, phone is out of service when 3G shows full service - no one can ring or sms. My phone only works sometimes when the 3G is switched off. SMS messages are late sometimes over 24 hours late. The 1223 service give you the wrong numbers, the customer service does not provide any service at all except for tormenting and torturing. Vodafone really SUCK. They deserve to be shut down, boycott vodafone and switch providers I am. The next day I rang again as I was promised a call back and was then told no I had to pay, I argued and won again but they dont even know where there own stores are and told me to look online despite me telling them I couldnt they sent me to 2 agents before I was told that there store was only 2 train stops away and wasted 2 hours of my life. THEY LIE LIE LIE and ther directory assistance advise they have no head office number nor an address and they cannot give out the name of their management. I rang them and got several more before they eventually stopped. I am sick of being the only person on holiday not to get a signal- this was long before the recently published reception drop-out. Now I've experience this it's the last straw. I rang Vodafone and was on hold for ages. I got through...silence. I said 'hello?' and they hung up on me. I phoned again and I was on hold for one hour before I spoke to someone who spoke very poor English. I was transferred three times then waited on hold for a further 15 mins! I hung up. Can you blame me? My contract expired last week- what fantastic timing! I've just signed with Telstra. I will never, ever go back to Vodafone.

i thought my new iphone 4 had issues, but only to walk into a store and realise that the plastic on the cover of the screen was preventing the sound from being emitted. the vodafone staff didn't laugh or judge. sometimes its just silly things like that before the network

1077 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Badly fail at 19 Dec 2010 09:10:34 PM
Well, I was one of the victims to get a $59 CAP plan. They should call it crab plan as I was not able to use more that 10% of the plan.
I just wonder where are the government bodies from these thieves, this is public fraud. I'm a family man and the last thing I wanted on top of the GFC is for a licensed thieve to steel my kids money. I wonder how these guys steel people's money and get away with it

1076 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Ridiculous reception failure at 19 Dec 2010 09:09:37 PM
After a year of having to put up with constant reception drop outs in the middle of the CBD, I have finally changed to Optus and have never looked back. No idea why you would persist with their reluctance to remedy the problem after all this time!

1075 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Absolutely Appalling at 19 Dec 2010 09:06:23 PM
I'm sick Of getting System Failure Messages on my Blackberry that just cannot be explained. I have re-installed my OS and the couple of extra BB programmes only to have exactly the same problem. I know it isn't me, my handset or my imagination as was suggested by one support technician in Bangalore. Joke.

1074 Someone from ACT thinks vodafone is Absolutely abysmal at 19 Dec 2010 09:04:16 PM
Stupid me... recently forked out more than $250 to get my phone replaced (it was out of warranty) as vodafail told me it was a fault of the phone for the painfully s-l-o-w internet access, constantly dropped calls, etc. Not to mention voicemail arriving a couple of days late and texts hours later....

"Replace your phone", said the call centre person... Has a new phone fixed the issues? I'm going to invoice vodafail for this!

Really unimpressed.

1071 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is the worst piece of shit ever at 19 Dec 2010 08:43:39 PM
3 months of appalling service, no data, dropped calls - (worst example 6 drops in 4 minutes on one call).
Spent over 4 hours on hold waiting for the pathetic offshore help desk to ask the same basic troubleshooting questions over and over again, Im an advanced user so they should be able to treat me as such. im giving them till mid jan if nothing changes im switching to telstra.

as hinch would say...Shame Vodafone Shame!!!

1068 Someone from WA thinks vodafone is Way fail!! at 19 Dec 2010 08:30:24 PM
Dropped calls.. Unusable data during peak times.. Hours long waiting times on 1555 to seek assistance only to be transferred to the technical team with another hour wait time.. It doesn't get worse than this for phone service performance!!

1066 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Very Disappointing at 19 Dec 2010 08:27:50 PM
Months of problems with call dropouts, "no service", useless data performance. I've had a replacement phone and a replacement SIM but still not fixed. I did manage to get their cancellations department to give me one month's credit and they assured me they're working through trying to get the network issues resolved. Is this all because of the merger with the 3 network going pear-shaped? Or a botched network expansion? Maybe they shouldn't have installed Vista :-)

1065 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is 10 out of 10 for failing!*# at 19 Dec 2010 08:22:59 PM
I'm a 2-month-old customer. My phone has - dropped out frequently, often has no 3G, has no or late voicemail and texts, people can't get hold of me at all (calls just don't get to me or my voicemail), customer 'non-care' are in-contactable, and if I do get hold of them or they call me back (which never happens during the week only on the weekend) then the call usually drops out! The worst thing is, I rely on my phone for my freelance work and I have no idea how much business I've lost because of this phone. They say they listen - empty platitudes. I am beside myself with anger and frustration!

1064 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is useless at 19 Dec 2010 08:10:59 PM
For the last year, my wife and I have had loads of problems with Voda. Dropped calls, no reception, and voicemail & texts that take up to 12 hours to come through. Ridiculous. I'm moving back to Optus.
