Dear visitor,
Since its inception Vodafail.com has made a significant
contribution towards raising awareness of the problems and issues faced
by Vodafone customers.
Vodafone Australia customers have had the opportunity to voice their concerns, their fears and their troubles from every corner of Australia and beyond our borders.
You have gathered the courage to stand up for your rights as consumers and to make your voice heard.
Each and every person who shared their story should have a sense of pride in this achievement and the changes that have occurred since the start of Vodafail.com.
More recently, traffic to Vodafail.com has declined significantly.
Having achieved the goal of raising awareness and promoting concrete action in early 2011, we have now reached the point of closing Vodafail to new complaints.
The site will remain online for as long as possible as a
reminder and an example of what is possible when we share our experiences.
It has been a privilege to run this initiative
and I'm am forever grateful for the help and support I've received. In
particular I would like to thank Melissa, David and Travis for their
continued efforts over the past 15 months. I'm also thankful and humbled by the support of ACCAN, Choice magazine and a wide range of media outlets, blogs and websites.
You can still browse existing stories and find out how to file a complaint if you are experiencing problems.
Until next time,
Adam Brimo

Also I haven't had service for 2 days now and when I do call customer service, after waiting 36 mins to speak to someone they don't resolve the issue but say try my sim card in another phone! Why should I have to put up with there lack of, welll everything???

I have had dropped calls at home and no reception at all at work, even both areas are well within Vodafone's service area. Been like that for half a year. Called V and after a while, got to technical staff. "reset phone" was first advice. That didnt work. "Replace SIM card". That didnt work. Called back to cancel my service, after a almost 90 min wait I finally got through. As soon as I said I wanted to cancel my service. They hung up on me!!
Now that's good customer service for you!!

Just had to pick my mum up from the city. She is from overseas so I got her a prepay vodafone mobile to use while she is here, as I am on Vodafone. I told her I would call her once I get to the city to meet her! After trying for over an hour and continually getting "network busy", "connection error", "number busy" (even though it wasnt) I finally got through, which left me in rush hour traffic on our way home....thanks to vodafone! Im so pissed off with them that I am actually gonna stand on my phone and get rid of it! Im done with vodafone, absolutely rubbish!

12287 Someone from TAS thinks vodafone is Cant Pay My Bill at 12 Jan 2011 03:21:54 PM
Have been sent my email bill recently which I would normally print out and pay at Aus' Post with. They changed the format recently and one change was to remove the barcode for the bill. Three options on the email are 1) Download bill, 2) Pay online, 3) Log in to Vodafone. I wished to download my bill for the barcode to pay my bill but my bill is not available online, there is a error and it is not there. I logged in to vodafone to access my bill that way but only past bills are available, not the current bill. I called Vodafone (35 minute call (was ok, used my time on hold to clean up after my daughter)) and the operator was friendly and helpful but he could not access my bill either, he had the same problem as me with their website.. I ask that he email me my full bill, he said he would. I received a text message saying that the email had been sent, I have not received it yet. It has been 4 hours since and still no bill. I do not wish to pay with credit card (their website allows this, this part works it seems though I still can not see a bill to pay against) and I can not get a barcode to pay in person. How do I pay my bill now?? He told me to find a previous bill as the barcodes are the same, I may do but I wish to view a current bill also, its my right to know what I am paying for...
13 Jan 2011 02:17:19 PM: Still have not been sent my bill via email and the e,ail I intially received still will not download the bill from their website - site unavailable online. Pathetic. Dont they want my money???
13 Jan 2011 05:50:43 PM: They just sent me another text message saying that I can now get my bill online... You guessed it, it is still not available. Why do they tell me it is when it is not? I do not want to pay online (appears to be working), I want an itemised bill with a bar code. Gonna have to use an old bill as they do not seem able to provide a proper bill. Darn em!...
20 Jan 2011 11:43:51 AM: Got my bill online a couple days ago, took awhile.

I laughed when I read you had people suffering a 2 hour delay.
Harden up brothers. I called to see if they could put a hold on a sim card from a phone that was lost on Christmas Eve. 3 hours later (it became a challenge), a foreigner answered. I know this because he admitted he was not in Australia. He also couldn't understand what I was asking so he put me on hold again. after another hour and a half, I hung up. I emailed asking for someone to contact me and the reply stated that inquiry had been closed.
For a total of 3 days, someone could have been running up my bill and I had no power to stop it. The funny part is that when you do talk to the people at Vodafone, they know how crap the service is.

Txt messages don't get send, don't even try to phone customer services, 1 1/2 hour on hold at least every time, that is if you are lucky. They give you the wrong information and then you have to try and call them again. Such a waste of time. And please don't ever try to upgrade your phone, absolute nightmare!!

My mobile broadband keeps dropping out and takes ages to connect again. Keeps switching between 3G and roaming or the HSPA connection. Its very very annoying especially when you are trying to chat to friends over facebook or msn. Even more annoying when you are just generally browsing the internet.
Why can't it just stay on one connection. And its really strange when I get better connection up here in Port Hedland than what I do down in Perth.

i have not been able to get reception for HTC legend at all at home for thwe whole time i've had the phone. It drops out in the street, has no ability to refresh without crashing. On the Hume Highway it is not available for long stretches between sydney and Melbourne.
The bills come to me late and I get charged for this. I am still on the complaint line (phone) which has already taken 40minutes for a service provider.

Dropping calls and general poor reception and service. I can't believe that their frontline staff in their stores are not able to discuss complaints and that we "would be better calling Customer Service". They can sign us up pretty quick, but when it comes to something a little prickly, they handball to the inefficient call centre that is "Customer (dis)Service".
Also a little concerned over the privacy things. Not sure how to go about ensuring my details are safe. I know they have issued a 'guarantee' of our security and privacy, but I take this with a grain of salt. Piss poor performance!!

12 Jan 2011 08:37:25 PM: Are you concerned with your details on Telstra? Same system.
12 Jan 2011 08:41:01 PM: Same system, different security ;) Telstra use Smart Cards, meaning they can't be accessed remotely, additionally it uses a VPN....Vodfail use a lousy login and password that can be accessed from ANY internet connection.

I cant believe how bad vodafail is . At my home I have to walk outside and stand on the footpath to talk to anyone. Over the last 3 months or more it had gotten progressively worse.... Most annoying really as the benefits they offer is very generous, but I guess they can offer those benefits as you are unlikely be able to use them as if you are lucky enough to get connection 9 times out of 10 you are cut off with in a few seconds of connecting. Would really hate to be in a dangerous situation and depending on vodaphone to provide you with a reliable mobile service....

Second time I've posted here...
Called 1555 3 times today (the call centre in fuckin' India!) and told them I want out of my contract. Told them that Vodafone breached the contract by not providing me with the services I pay for and the services they offered me in my LEGALLY BINDING contract. They preceeded to tell me that cancellation would cost me *cough cough* $486!!! I told them they can stick that and that they already owe ME money for failed services. They passed me up the line to their technical support section who tried to convince me there was something wrong with my phone... which I already know is perfectly fine as other network sim cards work without a problem. They put me on hold and then hung up!
So I called again... and sat on hold for 40 minutes... again... and explained the situation... again... and they passed it up the line... again... and I was told they would call me back... and then hung up on... AGAIN.
To think I once worked for this company...

12 Jan 2011 02:27:34 PM: We realise how distressing dealing with Vodafone actually is and also the lack of Customer Care (as your example eloquently shows!).
It would be really great if the comments and replies do not refer to the overseas call centre in a mildly derogatory way.
By doing so it opens the door for an accusation of a racism bunfight which is not really productive at all.

16 Jan 2011 05:30:58 AM: Actually my son took up a plan with Vodafone approx 2 years ago. What the staff member promised is not what he got, when he disputed this & disagreed to pay to pay the obsene bill ($1800 for 1 month) Vodafone slapped a default on him via Veda credit services. He has since applied for loans from 11 different financial institutions & been rejected based on this default even though he had since paid it. He has complainedto the TIO Obudsman to no avail. Vodafone called him & told him they would send records relating to the default nearly a month ago & nothing has turned up & he cannot get on to them to make an enquiry. Does anyone know if there is a way to dispute the injustice of this
If he went to the TIO, and the TIO refused to have the default removed, then your son legitimately must owe the money. The TIO ALWAYS ensures that defaults placed by even the most minor error get removed
: Financial insitutions most likely will not take it into account if the default is paid or unpaid, it is the fact that it went on a default to begin with. The default may take 5-7 years to clear off the credit file. I recommend you speak with Vodafone as they can clear it from the credit file
The TIO would defiantly go into bat for you if they could, agreed he will legitimately owe the money, there is defiantly rights you have in regards to lack of service etc etc, but that doesn't usually mean you can just do whatever, this is a learning lesson to all here, you cant just port out or refuse to do stuff just cause you feel that way, not always that black and white, even Graeme samuels head of the ACCC has said this, still gotta play by the rules for now!

16 Jan 2011 11:09:10 AM: @16 Jan 2011 07:30:58 AM:This is a strange post- seems to be Q&A in one, and the A is not the usual style of the Vodafail team.
Also, twisting of statements "TIO Obudsman to no avail." is different from "TIO refused to have the default removed".
This statememnt "Vodafone called him & told him they would send records relating to the default nearly a month ago & nothing has turned up " indicates that Vodafone may have undertaken to do this, after discussions with the TIO, because, from experience, Vodafone NEVER does anything for a customer that it isn't forced to do.
Am wondering if the initial disputed bill was one of the ones where people didn't realise they were paying a fortune accessing the GPS on their phones? I heard than some telcos were forced to waive those bills.

Changed from another provider to Vodaphone 22/12/10, the next day after phone was all charged realised we couldnt get coverage in out house or local area, went back to Vodaphone store and was advised to call Vodaphone, which i did, they explained that there is issues in our area and they would forward my issue/problem on and we would have a reply within 5 days, they also sent a text message staing that, i have tried to call them numerous times and been on hold in excess of 45 minutes at a time and then get cut off, went into another Vodaphone store 9/1/11 and explained my problem that i cant get through to anyone and that the mobile is for work and that we have 2 small children and that we need to always be contactable, the staff member emailed vodaphone infront of me and advised me i would have a reply within 48 hours, to date i have had no reply or contact with vodaphone and we are paying for a mobile that doesnt work, what more can i do to change back to our old provider, this is ridiculous, TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, will be spreading the word to NEVER chnage to Vodaphone.

I am trying to simply access my account online. Due to the recent media saga they have blocked me. They provide a number to call to unblock the problem -however every time I call it, as soon as I am ready to be transferred to a person to talk to, it says there has been a techinical problem and I will need to phone back. They then hang up on you! I tried again twice. I am very busy at work and don't have time for this rubbish!
My plan runs out in 1-2 months (I was simply trying to find out when this date is exactly) and I will have NO HESITATATION to leave vodafone for good. And I will NEVER go back! VODAFAIL indeed....

NOT GOOD ENOUGH!! Every other phone network seems to be fine. Too bad if we were stuck on a roof in the middle of all this flooding and were trying to call out for help and couldn't because of a friggen useless phone company!! Not only that, my partner and I want to swap over networks asap, but can't unless we completely change our phones/numbers as we have locked vodafone phones..we can't even unlock them until vodafone is back online (whenever THAT will be..website is even down and lady at All Phones told us not to even bother trying their customer service line...), and even then, vodafone with slap with an unlocking fee!! I can tell you right now, they are going to lose a LOT of customers in south-east qld this week.
13 Jan 2011 07:29:03 PM: Vodafone was affected by the flooding mate. If you're sitting on a roof trying to get help and the wonderful telstra and optus networks were walking you COULD call for help. It's a convention that all phones access any network to make emergency calls for just this reason.

On hold now for 40 minutes and counting.. The most annoying bit is every now and then, Lara pipes up and says, 'Hang in there, we'll be with you really soon.' I guess 'really soon' does have a pretty loose definition.

My friends say they always get put through to my answer phone and have to try approx 10 times before they can reach me even though my phone is on and it says I have signal. Phone regularly says no service at the moment it says I have 1 bar of signal. Phone calls drop out halfway through.

I am in a flooded town Dalby Qld. Vodafone has a complete outage in this and other areas. The only provider do have this problem. My problem is that I cannot not use either of my usb modems to log on, I have no vodafone mobile coverage so 1555 is out of the question. When i got a landline to contact them after trying to talk to that recorded bitch, I was told by another recording that they had a problem and they simply cut me off. What a great company not to be with, as soon as my contracts are up I will be going to another provider.

Unprofessional that is it. I am a teacher and if I stopped teaching half way through or forgot to pass a message for a few days or forced my students to leave a message for me because I just didn't feel like working that day I'd be sacked. It is not much to ask. Have reception for your mobile phone, immediately pass on messages and give me what I pay for. Why should I have a phone that only works half the time? Maybe I should consider only rocking up to work half of the time... Hmmm.

I've already posted regarding my years worth of trouble with vodafone, including a recent incident overseas where i tried having my phone unlocked and was lied to with regard to the instructions just to get me off the phone with them, which resulted in me using my holiday time sitting in a london vodafone store on hold waiting for someone else to 'help', if thats what you can call it. At the same time i'd asked for my phone contract to be put on hold whilst i'm overseas coz obviously, i wont be using my aussie number - i told them this about 5 times and asked them to assure me that the phone would be put on hold. WOuldnt you know it, i check my bank statement and they've charged me the full months fee rather than the $11 or so monthly 'suspend' fee they said they would. HOW STUPID DO THEY THINK WE ARE???

I moved to vodafone and signed up on the proviser that they would provide me with a service in exchange for my money. This contract was not met on their behalf as at least 3 times per day I will have 'no service' pop up on my phone or 'network disconnected' come up.
I feel that I have not been able to use my phone to nearly what I would have as the reception means that, on more than 10 occassions, I have not been able to use my phone as it was designed. AS a mobile phone.
I feel that it is only fair that I be reimmbursed for my last 4 months contract as I have used a land line to call mobiles when I would have used my mobile cap.
I am outraged that they can call themselves a 'mobile' company as I have had nothing more than problems.
Vodafail- absolutely!

I have waited three days to try and speak to a customer representative just to find out details of my current contract.
The rep refused point blank to give me my details unless I told her why I wanted them which I thought was very rude.
So hang on, a customer can't ring your support line to politely ask for their start and end contract dates? I'd already verified my ID, pin code etc three times, twice with the same consultant but she still refused to provide me with this information.
She offered to put me back on hold and transfer me into a queue to speak to another department (apparently they can give me this information but she wouldn't until I told her why I wanted it.)
I of course had no more time to waste on hold and refused this offer.
Thinking I was smart I decided to go to All Phones the reseller who have access to the customer database only to find that they are now unable to provide this information.
Useless.

I was in the middle of the Brisbane cbd yesterday, when I discovered that typically there is no reception on the vodafone network (funny how other providers seem to be unaffected!!!!!)I was trying to get ahold of my sister as the public transport was being shut down, and I couldn't get through, and when there was reception I constantly had the call drop out over and over again.
What on earth is the point of having a network that doesn't work when you seriously need it?!
I'm originally from NZ and was a vodafone customer there with no problems, now that I've moved here I've had problems with the network!

First of all I do not like Lara I am sick and tired of talking to a computer its just not right. Second of all My usage was saying that I was going over when I definately didnt I always monitor my usage and I barely use the internet anyway, so I spoke to a customer relations officer from Vodafone who was very caring and he told me that he was going to fix the problem cause he knew I didnt go over aswell & he put my plan up from 6gb to 8gb for the same monthly payment and apologized so I thought that was nice of him. Then a few weeks later I went to SMS 1512 50 times literally over a few days and got no reply to tell me how much usage I have been using. I rang Vodafone back to get that stupid Lara person & she could not understand what I wanted to do so I was cursing calling her every name under the sun as you would if you were very frustrated so I hung up and had a breather then I rung back and got through to where I needed to be so I had to wait on hold now I was on hold for 54 minutes to be exact I could not believe it luckily it was a free number to call from my mobile but still no one likes to be on hold for nearly an hour. Anyway I explained to the person about the SMS and she had no idea why that was happening and put me on hold to find out what was going on that took 10 minutes. The Lady said that If I want to find out what usage is to check on the internet on the website with my log in details, so I thought alright then ill check on there from now on until the SMS gets sorted out. I then asked when my contract was going to finish cause I knew that it was finishing up in the next couple of weeks but i just thought Id check anyway. When I did ask the lady told me because I upgraded to the 8gb from 6gb plan I was on another 12month contract and I was like wtf!!! no one had told me that I was another 12month contract I was never notified the guy I spoke to before gave me the upgrade in good faith until my contract ran out & now they tell me that there is nothing they can do about it. I cannot believe Vodafone I am so disappointed and I will be taking this matter further as i do not wish to deal with Vodafone again.

Same story as everyone else. Customer service used to be good but that is a thing of the past. Had reception issues for years now and supposedly in an area of full coverage. Sent an email to complaints and they replied with a generic paragraph on network services and wrote off the complaint as solved. ***Beware global roaming*** as i recently went overseas and afterdiscussing the call charges etc many times I discovered that they don't explin the fine print, to the point where they gave me false information when i questioned teh call rates. Thankfully they reversed the charges after i made a complaint, but i hd to do all the follow which was a timely experience.

12225 Someone from ACT thinks vodafone is at 12 Jan 2011 10:36:57 AM
Actually my son took up a plan with Vodafone approx 2 years ago. Does anyone know if there is a way to dispute the injustice of this
12 Jan 2011 12:45:14 PM: If he went to the TIO, and the TIO refused to have the default removed, then your son legitimately must owe the money. The TIO ALWAYS ensures that defaults placed by even the most minor error get removed
13 Jan 2011 04:57:15 PM: Financial insitutions most likely will not take it into account if the default is paid or unpaid, it is the fact that it went on a default to begin with. The default may take 5-7 years to clear off the credit file. I recommend you speak with Vodafone as they can clear it from the credit file
16 Jan 2011 05:28:01 AM: The TIO would defiantly go into bat for you if they could, agreed he will legitimately owe the money, there is defiantly rights you have in regards to lack of service etc etc, but that doesn't usually mean you can just do whatever, this is a learning lesson to all here, you cant just port out or refuse to do stuff just cause you feel that way, not always that black and white, even Graeme samuels head of the ACCC has said this, still gotta play by the rules for now!

I have wireless broadband internet by usb key.. i am lucky to be able to get online for more than 5 minutes at a time most days and sometimes am unable to get online for days at a time. The internet does connect, however never seems to be able to display the webpage. Also drops out multiple times during any connection session, requiring re-connecting and sometimes even re-booting the computer.

12215 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Worst than George Bush's grammar at 12 Jan 2011 09:43:14 AM
I'm so pissed off. I called up vodafone, firstly to complain about being told that my prepaid text and data plan would last for two months, when it actually only lasted for one month. The call person said that my matter would be resolved when she called me back in bout an hour. I never got called back. Or i might have been in an uncovered area of sydney city.... then i went to the vodafone store and talked to them and they said someone would call me to give me extra credit. That never happened either!!!!! I so hope we can sue them for ALL THE CRAP WE HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH FOR THE PAST YEARS. BTW i never get reception at home, however I don't want to pay to change companies, so i'm ready for action!! all troops to battle stations lol anywayz, hope our problem gets solved :) have a good one guys!

I have been trying to get through to Vodafail for 3 days now without any success. If I am not being to told to call back due to technical issues I am put on hold for up 40 minutes only for the call to dropped out. Finally yesterday, after several attempts at opting for the choice of receiving a call back instead on being on hold I was thrilled to hear the words of an actual person "Welcome to Vodafone"... too good to be true? Yes, to my dismay the call then dropped out, again!

12210 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is what a con!!!!!! at 12 Jan 2011 09:13:39 AM
I keep having trouble with drop outs, trouble with contacting landlines..
Issues with reception are a part of poor quality reception leading to repeating myself constantly with sentences when having conversations.
Poor customer service, wait times, poor resolving issues, drop out issues relating to customer care, no follow up calls made after an event of a drop out from members of staff on over three occassions!!!
Issues with 123 directories, a memeber of staff was unable to provide in formation within a reasonable time frame, contacted the customer service after up a chunk of credit was chewed up after the event. Had to get a supervisor, who then only paid me half back my credit, how stingy!!!

I can't contact my family to see if they are okay, my work can't contact me, I understand we are in the middle of a natural disaster but what is the point of having a mobile phone for emergencies if it doesn't work when you need it!!!

12207 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is absolutley pathetic at 12 Jan 2011 08:49:07 AM
Living in in suburbs in Melbourne I usually have only 2 bars reception on my phone - have to stand outside in the rain so my phone call doesn't cut out and usually only get "emergency" reception when in my house. This is just pathetic, why on earth did i leave telstra? I cannot send photos, but get chraged for it when i try and the customer service does my head in - do not yell at me "Bob" from India, you are supposed to help me :( After just going to Merimbula for a week - i had perfect reception and very fast wireless internet - perfect - why on EARTH would in the inner suburbs of Melbourne not have this and a cournty town does?!!? - here's hoping that the company gets the pants sued off them, they go under and we can all get out of our contracts asap. I travel frequently to the Hunter Valley, where there is no coverage. I rang up last week and asked about roaming and was informed that Vodafone is set up so that if there are no Vodafone towers then the automatically pick up from Telstra/Optus etc. Guess what.... FAILED. I rang up today to complain that once again I had so coverage to which I was told "I will transfer you to our technical support and they will talk you through how to set up your handset." Wish Vodafone's staff would all read the same training manual before they start answering the phones.
12204 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Me - 1, Vodafone - 0 at 12 Jan 2011 08:40:28 AM
I'm on prepaid with vodafone after a nasty experience a few years ago whilst on a plan. Poor customer service and over billing, hidden fees and taxes etc. This was a few years ago and in Nov last year I needed a new phone, and fast as I cracked the screen on my old phone. Didnt have much cash so thought why not, I'll give them another go. Signed up in store (took over an hour mind you) and got a brand new Sony Ericsson X10 Experia! I wanted to keep the same # so I was given a new sim, which I was told would activate in a few hours and the old sim would cease working. To this day, i'm still using the prepaid sim. I went in store to inquire about it and was advised that I am still listed as a prepaid customer! YOU IDIOTS!!!! Me - 1 Vodafone - 0... THANKS VODAFONE YOU TWITS!!
12 Jan 2011 08:49:22 AM: Oh but, that doesnt mean to say my service is any better! Constant drop outs.. the net will NOT work, EVER! Unless I am connected to wifi it is completely useless!! Cant complain about customer service and billing though.. im on prepaid so dont have to deal with idiots.. that they contract from India (or so it would seem)!!

droped calls, no network coverage, poor battery life on the HTC Desire HD, poor customer service
12 Jan 2011 08:36:36 AM: Just to clarify, are you blaming the poor battery life of an HTC product on Vodafone?
Just so you know, I find that the battery life on phones running Android always get raped straight out of the box - and it has a lot to do with apps starting up/running in the background.
You should download an app killer (like "Advanced Task Killer") and set it to kill all unecessary apps at whatever intervals or frequency you wish - I set mine to kill pretty much everything whenever my screen is off and life is now good.

12 Jan 2011 08:47:30 AM: Hey there, I have the Sony Ericsson Experia X10. The battery just continues to die within a matter of hours!! How do I set App Killer up to kill apps automatically? I am constantly doing this manually every time I pick up my phone! Its driving me crazy!!
12 Jan 2011 08:54:46 AM: I'm using Advanced Task Killer (Froyo). Open up the app and tick all the boxes of the apps you don't want running in the background all the time.
Now hit the 'menu' button on your phone and some options should appear. One of the options will be "Settings" so select that. This will open up the Settings menu which includes a bunch of options under different headings. Scroll down to the heading "Auto Kill" and choose a level and the frequency. I have my level set to "Safe" and the frequency set to "When screen off".
Also if you place the Task Killer widget on your home screen, selecting the widget will manually kill the apps you specified as well.

12 Jan 2011 09:28:19 AM: Just out of interest - - does anyone know if the above is in Vodafone's information/help database or has it been found out by some other means????
12 Jan 2011 10:02:52 AM: Don't know if it's something any of the Telcos bother to mention, but it's more something you just learn by troubleshooting via Google search. Although it's also entirely possible that some phone models/brands just inherently have poor battery life, regardless of what the phone is running/doing.
And nowadays with smartphones being able to do so much, it's always worth Googling reviews for the phone model you're considering getting to see how the battery-life fairs under "normal" as well as intensive use.

13 Jan 2011 07:35:09 PM: Yes a little bit of personal responsibility is best when it comes to learning about your handset capabilities and pitfalls. Remember they're not phones any more they're mini computers and are very power hungry.
13 Jan 2011 08:12:10 PM: Whilst I agree they are power hungry, the other networks can cope with them. It is just Voafones crap network that can't.

After asking around and from my own experience I have a theory that Vodafail support simply starts ignoring you. I started my battle with vodafone a week and a half ago trying to get my coverage issues fixed, or to get them to agree to waiving any penalties when I leave. After the hours on hold etc I'm finally told my case is being escalated and I'll be called on my land line at an agreed to time to troubleshoot. Never got the call. Since that time I've promised call backs that never came (4 times), been hung up on, simply not been able to get through due to network error (4 times) or gotten through and then got the message that there is a "technical error" and I need to hang up (6 times). Now I've gotten through, past Lara and the queue and the phone has simply rung and rung and rung for 5 minutes before I hung up. They are just avoiding me now aren't they? Anyway, I'm leaving and if they charge me for leaving my contract early I'll fight them every way I can.

C'mon Vodafone ! You make massive profits - pump some of that money into proper training programs, better accounting systems (which was my issue - an incorrect bill), and staff who can articulate properly.
12 Jan 2011 07:22:14 AM: Training? Training for whom? The call centre staff in India? Like they give a flying hoot about any experianced issue. All you get from them is rhetoric and "i'd like to offer you $10 free credit"! I can't use my phone what good is extra credit going to do me?
12 Jan 2011 09:04:19 AM: Exactly - Vodafone do not make publicly available their staff KPI's, so there is no yardstick to measure their performance on any of their productivity.

I am a new customer and they double billed me for my first month. I paid my bill manually after they assured me that there wasn't a auto payment set up on my account. After paying, they direct debited me and for the next three months claimed that I had only paid once. 8 Calls (and 8 different 'Customer Service' representatives) later, the issue was resolved without so much as a 'We're sorry'. At one point (3rd call) they even claimed that they couldn't transfer me to their manager and that they didn't have a complaint department. What a joke.
