Dear visitor,
Since its inception Vodafail.com has made a significant
contribution towards raising awareness of the problems and issues faced
by Vodafone customers.
Vodafone Australia customers have had the opportunity to voice their concerns, their fears and their troubles from every corner of Australia and beyond our borders.
You have gathered the courage to stand up for your rights as consumers and to make your voice heard.
Each and every person who shared their story should have a sense of pride in this achievement and the changes that have occurred since the start of Vodafail.com.
More recently, traffic to Vodafail.com has declined significantly.
Having achieved the goal of raising awareness and promoting concrete action in early 2011, we have now reached the point of closing Vodafail to new complaints.
The site will remain online for as long as possible as a
reminder and an example of what is possible when we share our experiences.
It has been a privilege to run this initiative
and I'm am forever grateful for the help and support I've received. In
particular I would like to thank Melissa, David and Travis for their
continued efforts over the past 15 months. I'm also thankful and humbled by the support of ACCAN, Choice magazine and a wide range of media outlets, blogs and websites.
You can still browse existing stories and find out how to file a complaint if you are experiencing problems.
Until next time,
Adam Brimo

11963 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is No coverage at 11 Jan 2011 09:53:13 AM
I live right in Brisbane city. At the moment there is no network coverage. Tried turning the phone on and off and still nothing. This has been going on since around 10am. I am expecting a call about a job this morning, and because of vodafones incompetence, i may not receive this important call.

11960 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is at 11 Jan 2011 09:50:11 AM
I have been with Vodafone for over 4 years and in the past 6 months I have been disgusted with the level of customer service. Ques on hold of up to 1 hour and when I do finally speak to someone they can offer me no help, that is if they can speak English. The stores are not much better, advising I am the only one with these problems...any of these sound familiar:
No Coverage
Calls Drop Out repeatedly
Poor Battery Life, I have to charge my at least twice a day
Text and Voice Message delays, sometimes I don't even receive them
I am at a loss as to what to do, no one seems to be able to help me and I am locked into a contract for the next 18 months!

No network coverage, call technical support and either get told to hang up or the line goes dead, can't contact Vodafone in any way.
Unable to use 3G as I don't get calls, calls drop, messages sometimes arrive.
Complete farce.

11953 Someone from ACT thinks vodafone is at 11 Jan 2011 09:36:39 AM
I have not been able to access my bills for 7 months!!!!! i can not have a phone call that's more than 1.5min long because it drops out and then I can't get my phone to work again for anothe half hour. I can retrieve my emails maybe 2 out of 7 days a week. And when I try to call Vodafone they keep passing me from one person to next until it drops out! I say we all stop paying our bills and see how much attention they start paying then
11 Jan 2011 09:52:09 AM: thats a joke 11953 you should complaine
16 Jan 2011 05:59:34 AM: if you stop paying your bills you will wreck your credit file, Veda/Bay-corp will not care one little bit about the Vodafone factor, yes you have rights to do this sort of thing, but its not going to work doing it that way.
there is a very specific way to complain which is explained here in a link at the top of the page, don't wreck your credit file just cause your angry, you could end up not being able to get a contract with anyone else in the future.

11952 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is way over the top at 11 Jan 2011 09:36:24 AM
I had a handset fail under warranty. But it was my second handset after the first was replaced under insurance afte rit was stolen. But they couldn't find the paperwork confirming my new handset so they sent out the proof of purchase for the first handset (which was no longer under warranty). What insued was a game of tennis between their customer service centre and their call centre in which I was the ball.
To get the replacement I had to drive from far southside Brisbane to Milton 4 times and endured countless frustated hours with Lara trying to get through to someone to get to the bottom of the problem.
In the end I did not get any customer service and to get a result had to act as a mediator between their two departments just to settle what should have been a simple warranty claim.

11 Jan 2011 12:59:38 PM: A perfect example of why when making a purchase we should keep our sales receipts or if a replacement occurs keep your paperwork which shows your path of ownership. Personal responsibility is best.

From the How to Complain page it states for Vodafone Customer Service:
"When you call, you have the option of Vodafone calling you back when they get to your call."
Not today, there is just a message of there being a technical fault. How is it possible to complain when their internal systems are broken?

Lara asks me what I would like, I say a real person, she says, would you like to make a credit card payment? I say no, operator. She repeats would I like to make a credit card payment.. etc etc etc. Until I hang up because lara is useless.
Went to the customer service centre in Milton. Their feedback system is 8 questions to which answers are electronically input on a scale of 1 to 10.. After driving all the way to Milton to get service and then be confronted with another lifeless careless machine was completely insulting and infuriating!

As for the Vodafone staff, they are not much at all.

11945 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is BIG FAIL!! at 11 Jan 2011 09:28:30 AM
My husband called Vodafone yesterday after 30 mins on hold to cancel our month to month broadband... the overseas call centre verified my husbands details then asked what he could be helped with.. He told Voda that he wanted to cancel as the service is less than average, drops out and is slower than dial up.. you would not believe what the customer service assistant then said.... Im sorry our computers are down at the moment try and call back in the next 24-48hrs WTF? How can they check details of a customer then say their computers are down???
11944 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is RECEPTION IS ALMOST NON EXISTANT! at 11 Jan 2011 09:26:47 AM
I made the mistake of movng to Vodafail prepaid in April last year, when i bought my iPhone outright.
I have HOPELESS reception, EVEN in Sydney City! I have countless number of times come and gone from work, i live on the Illawarra Line, with "NO SERVICE".
I ALSO have call drop outs, and the Internet????? O.M.G!!!! What Internet??????
Almost worse than the calling reception!
My friends keep telling me to just port my number, i can't tell you how CLOSE i am.
Just as well i'm on prepaid, and this is a very good option.
God forbid i am never in an emergency, and desparately need to contact family.

11943 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Stop picking on Vodafone!!!!! at 11 Jan 2011 09:24:34 AM
People have started picking Vodafone but what about other mobile companys, I have been with Vodafone for many years and have had no problems at all and just a small hand full of people make a big deal out nothing.
11 Jan 2011 09:32:11 AM: Respectfully, when you're paying for something, and even making allowances as I did for a couple of months, and not getting close to what you paid for, that's not nothing.
You've had good service with VF, that's great, but we haven't... I've been with Optus and Telstra in the past and never had service quality anywhere near as bad as this with either one.
You've had good service with VF, that's great, but we haven't... I've been with Optus and Telstra in the past and never had service quality anywhere near as bad as this with either one.
11 Jan 2011 09:34:47 AM: That's wonderful for you, but from all account many other people have had problems. In principle there is a contract for Vodafone to provide a service in return for payment, people are getting annoyed that Vodafone are failing to keep their end of the bargain, and as a multi billion dollar multinational seem disinclined to sort out their shocking customer service. They are starting to make Telstra look good.
11 Jan 2011 09:53:02 AM: Have you tried calling someone in the last hour, you might find it a bit hard when you have NO SERVICE. Everyone from brisbane done has nothing, it's makes it easier to run your business when you can't call anyone.... might dig out the string and tin can.
11 Jan 2011 04:17:22 PM: out of service here too, wonder if people will get some compensation for this! think not...
13 Jan 2011 01:16:22 PM: To 'Stop Picking on Vodafone', if there is only a small group of people bellyaching about nothing then why is there a class action of thousands of disgruntled customers??? We all can't be wrong. You must work for them!!!

11939 Someone from WA thinks vodafone is Bad and getting worse at 11 Jan 2011 09:18:02 AM
Unable to connect from home in Perth's northern suburbs more than half the time since 17 December.
Trying to call "Customer Care" from a land line, as my mobile won't connect, results in an extensive navigation of 'Lara' and then a message telling me there is a technical problem, and that I should hang up and try again.
No kidding.
Why am I paying $49/month for a shoddy unreliable service?

11937 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Waiting Waiting Still Waiting at 11 Jan 2011 09:15:28 AM
Calling vodafone and trying to clear a problem with transfer of ownership took 8 months and then to add insult to injury they kept charging on the old contract. In the end I became so distraught on the phone that the person I spoke to, took action and cleared the matter up. I thank him but 8 months....not good enough

I am on a $79 per month post paid cap but can only really use my phone to send sms/texts as calls and internet continually drop out. I have no reception at all on the train or at home.
Cannot use 3G data or if I can internet connection always drops out and will not come back
1 bar or no reception at all in Deception Bay
Quite often no reception at all at big shopping centres
Spent last 3 days on hold to customer service for over an hour every time but couldn't speak to anybody

11 Jan 2011 09:37:14 AM: My experience almost exactly - in Lithgow, NSW. I signed up six weeks ago and the only way I can be at all sure of completing a phone call or getting all my email is to drive a few kms to Hassans Walls, the highest lookout point around or take the train to Sydney and start using my phone and computer after pasing Bell. Join Vodaphone and see the world!
11 Jan 2011 01:09:25 PM: Come on. Don't let the truth stand in the way of a good story especially when Lithgow is so damn hilly and whoever signed you up would have warned you of coverage being patchy in that area and guess what? You signed up anyway.

11927 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Epic at 11 Jan 2011 09:01:08 AM
The service is just getting worse. I would have believed with all this negative media attention and even the issue of apology we would have seen some improvement, but it's actually becoming disgraceful.
I had raised a complaint on the 7/01/2011 which came through email today (11/01/2011) advising that my handset needs to be troubelshooted.
I've had different phones and sims and still the exact same problem regardless.
- Call dropouts
- Calls sent direct to Voicemail or Engaged tone
- 0% throughput for data service
I honestly cannot believe they still think this is somehow related to the handset. I know it's most likely procedure for them to troubleshoot the phone in the first instance, but they did not even acknowledge the current network issues across Vodafone.
I have however sent back a blazing response advising i will be keeping a log of all dropped calls, undelivered calls from customers and data throughput for the next month and cancelling my service if there is no imrpovement as a breach of contract on Vodafones part. Oh, and seeking legal action for lost revenue.

I'm curious if they are just trying to piss me off further?

The reception on my phone is consistently dropping out, sometimes for hours at a time. I have had numerous conversations with Vodafone customer support, however I am told EVERYTIME that it is my phone itself that is the problem. I am instructed to find another phone to use for a period of time so as I can determine whether the issue is actually my phone. I have previously done this only to satisfy the request of the vodafone support team, to no avail. NOT HAPPY JAN

11920 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is INTOLERABLE at 11 Jan 2011 08:34:43 AM
My mate moved house into a low reception area (read NO RECEPTION) about 3 months after signing with Vodafone. Because he signed up whilst at an address with "coverage" he cannot cancel his contract without paying it out. So he has about 1y9m of ZERO reception in his house to go or pay $1,800 to get out of the contract. Vodafone are being complete jerks.
11 Jan 2011 08:53:19 AM: That's bullshit, ring the TIO, as this is just another classic example of that useless telco stewing another customer over. It's a mobile phone, it's supposed to be able to be used wherever you go.

11916 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is CALL TIO!!! at 11 Jan 2011 08:23:55 AM
HAHA - I have been in my contract with Vodafone since last 3 weeks with my new HTC Desire HD. Live in 4000 postcode, no 3G at all, call drops, crappy connections list goes on.
Vodafone are going to let me out of my contract and hand my handset back.
I am going to go to Telstra where the 3G is good and I get coverage as per stated on their coverage maps.
I wish I could invoice Vodafone for my time wasted on the phone to their ridiculous hold times and bad service.
Fk Vodafone!

11914 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Stupendously stupid or psychopaths or psychotic. Take your pick. Or all three. Oh apparently dishonest as well. at 11 Jan 2011 08:16:56 AM
Found out yesterday at VF store level 1 Westfield Carindale that my account which I have trouble accessing online appears to be hacked. Their record looks different from the one I retrieved at some stage.
They took a large amount OUT of my usage figure for 22 Dec 2010, then put a lot ~$400 back in the next day, and billed me on the same day for three amounts,
$.14c, $1.07, $20,09c. But since I was under my limit, I should not have to pay for these shenanigans but I was debited for all three. Usage after these dates were not billed against me and I ended the period with ~2G still unused.
Similarly payments I had made for excess usage etc were not credited to my online account. Tried to sort this out with them, but got nowhere.

There is one thing that Vodafone is good at. Texting me to let me know my $90 bill is due and texting me to remind me to pay my bill.
I get these texts just days after having multiple call drop outs, and literally no service in Strathfield one afternoon and having to go pay to use a PAY PHONE, having multiple texts being charged and never received by my friends over a 4 month period, me never receiving my friends texts, not having any reception the entire time I was in the Hunter Valley on a holiday.
As of today I am now using Optus but I am hoping they would be kind enough to waive the last bill since I was rarely -and at times- never receiving their service so what the heck am I actually paying for?

Constant drop outs......promises of service upgrades in my area that never happened or didn't help......instruction by Vodafone to get a new SIM card to ease the problem - didn't help at all......and the list goes on!! Work has locked me in to Vodafone, otherwise I'd be long gooooooone!

I have wireless broadband and it is so unpredictable - when it will work and when it won't i.e. half the time the Internet doesn't work so I have to use an Internet cafe to use the Internet to complete my assignments. I am paying full price for the service, so why do I have to go and pay extra to use another service? It is outrageous and the reason why I choose vodafone at the time was because it was a large company with a high coverage rate. And sometimes when the internet does work, it is extremely slow - leaving me to wait for ages for it to upload one page. I have been trying to contact customer care various times and they have a large wait so they said they can call me back in half an hour. When they did call me back in half an hour, I had to wait again - so I hung up as I was busy. I also have a contract with vodafone for mobile and there isn't very good reception most of the times and sometimes embarrasingly my phone cuts of in the middle of conversations. I have been very unhappy for a while.
11910 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is dangerously inept at 11 Jan 2011 08:05:06 AM
My contract was up in June 2008, and in May 2008 I was moving to London for a year.
Prior to leaving, I called and confirmed that I would obviously NOT be continuing my contract, and requested I pay it out then as I wouldn't be using my phone for the last month of the contract.
The agent was friendly, and said she'd arranged that for me. Stupidly, I took the call centre agent at her word, and only discovered 18 months later that there was actually one more payment that the agent failed to tell me about.
Not being in the country, the payment was referred to a collection agency, and a black mark was put on my credit rating. (I found this out only when I was applying for a home loan, on my return, and I was offered a lesser value home loan because of it.)
As soon as I learned this, I paid the outstanding $70, then I called the collection agency, and the Indian call centre - at least 5 phone calls of 10-15 mins each.
Each time I was told that a record would be made that the payment was received, and the note on my credit rating removed.
2 1/2 years later, this mark remains on my credit rating. Totally pathetic.

I'm living in Queensland and have been going through a disaster of my own here in Dalby. We rely on our mobiles in times like these as power gets cut. Well guess what happened to me yesterday? My mobile stops working when I most need it. I have been trapped in my house since yesterday morning, luckily my power has come back on but for a while it was off, it feels so isolated here, being surrounded in water , and not being able to contact anyone. I have another year of this hell with vodafone as I am on a contract , soon as it is over I am leaving it thats for sure..Floods will get worse by this afternoon and my phone still has SOS in red in the corner, it wont ring out :(

No.1 - I never receive spam texts and I have received two since yesterday. I wonder if this has anything to do with the privacy breach???
Anyone else experiencing the same problem?
No.2 - Vodafone's total performance is absolute crap. I tried to send them an email yesterday only to be informed on their site that the email page was unavailable, couldnt even get into my account details!!!
Oh well whats new, same old service we have come to expect and I think its about time we all stopped talking and started to take the only action available. Talk with your feet and find another provider, Vodafone does not deserve our business.
Totally fed up to the back teeth!!!

I was a loyal customer of Vodafone since 1998 ( use same number since then), but now I am ready to leave them as soon as I can, because the service sucks!!! They do not care about their customers as they did when you came to Australia market.
They've ask me to leave details ( for not waiting online, nice feature), BUT when they call back I have to listen their lousy, annoying music for 1.5 hour this is shocking!!!
Their web site did not provide info that I want ( returns error), phone support does not answer. They have to pay my money back if they can not provide service.
" Hang in there" Vodafone! I will be not be with you soon!

I live in the Northern Rivers (NSW) and experience inconsistent reception with my Vodaphone iPhone. I can see three bars, pick up my phone to make a call or write a text and almost as soon as I touch the phone I lose all reception. Other times I just don't get any reception at all. I use my phone for work and can't afford to miss calls like this. I have similar problems in Byron Bay, Lennox Head, Bangalow and Lismore. Pulling my hair out!!!

11895 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Extremely Epic at 11 Jan 2011 07:10:46 AM
I have been trying to get my Iphone4 for almost 3 months now. My 1st Gen Iphone is all but completely broken (won't call or recieve calls). After calling their customer service centre every week for 8 weeks I got fed up and went into a store. The staff were the rudest, most unhelpful customer service people I had ever come across. Once again I was told to "come back next week". What kind of person has the time to make a pilgrimage to a Vodafone/3 store every week to see if they have stock. I was told there was no way to put my name down to reserve my phone and I would just have to wait.
The week of Christmas I went into a store and I was told I had to call a number now to order my phone and that they were now taking names. I am two weeks out from the end of my contract, and have been in upgrade period for 2.5 months. I still don't have my phone. It was supposed to arrive on the 6th of Jan. Then the 7th of Jan. I have called Vodafone twice and have been told that it is a problem with the Air mail that it has been sent by. It is now the 11th of Jan and I still don't have my phone.
Add to this the news of the privacy breaches and I think I'm out. I can firmly say, if that phone isn't here by this afternoon. Optus will get themselves a shiny new customer.

11894 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Terrible at 11 Jan 2011 07:04:39 AM
Have had numerous issues with Vodafone over recent months. For a complete train trip from Sydney to Woy Woy, I only received a maximium of 2 minutes reception (1-2 bars.
Further to this, I have had significant delays in receiving voicemails and am regularly droppping out of phone calls.
I am now very frustrated by the fact I am paying for a service that I am essentially not receiving. I am sure that when I signed the 24 month contract, my agreement to enter into it was formd on the basis that reasonable services - especially network coverage, would be provided. I will be investigating my options to withdraw from the contract if the problems cannot be rectified.

11893 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is 24 month contract never ending at 11 Jan 2011 07:01:43 AM
I'm frustrated with Vodaphone or 3 Hutchinson because when I signed a 24 month contract for wireless internet I thought that it would stop after the 24 months but I was wrong. Vodaphone or 3 Hutchinson had no problem in charging me after my 24 month internet wireless contract I thought had expired. Evidently you will continued to be charged unless you call and stop the service. When I called the call centre that said they continued to charge me (despite me not using the service) because I was apparently happy with the service. The 24 month contract did not end when it supposed to. A letter of complaint to their Brisbane office has been ignored since September.
11892 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Extremely Poor at 11 Jan 2011 06:55:52 AM
I have an iPhone 4. This is my 4th handset in 3 months and my service continues to drop out each minute. After hours on the phone, Customer care tell me to ring Apple, Apple says its nothing to do with them and tells me to ring Vodafone again, ring customer care back and they tell me to take it instore. the store tells me that they have no authority to touch apple handsets and that if its a network issue that customer care is the only place that can help. So yesterday I spent 5 hours on the phone to customer care in a vodafone store, after being transfered all over india they tell me that there are no outages in my area and that there are tower upgrades planned for the future and this my be causing my problems. I get them to transfer me to cancellations and begin the process of rescinding my contract but supprise supprise vodafone will not acknowledge that there is a network issue (after I was told that there was by tech support)so here i am now with a service that I can not use and a company they will not help. If any business owner ran there company like this they would be shut down by the ACCC so why can Vodafone get away with it?

How come the powers that be out there are unable to do something about a company that is making money with bad service. 11888 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Rating is A+ for confusing and misleading the customer! at 11 Jan 2011 06:37:32 AM
I have had a number of billing issues. I was 12 months into a 24 month $49 Cap and got a bill for $400. I called the lovely people at VF India and I was told that my cap was exceeded due to numbers which were not included in the cap. I told her that I hadn't had problems with these numbers over the past 12 months (my usage showed $49 per month consistently then an incredible jump in usage to $400 despite no changes on my part to my usage etc). She told me that numbers which were previously included in my cap were no longer included due to changes to my plan and that my previous $49 cap plan no longer existed.
She suggested that if I changed to a $59 cap (which was actually $69 with $10 credit per month applied to the account...I won't hold my breath!) that my calls which I am complaining about would be included and I wouldn't get the big bills anymore. I reluctanly agreed after being assured that a recalculation of my bill meant that I wouldn't have to pay the outstanding $400. She told me that I can change back to my $49 per month cap at any time and that the end date of my contract would remain the same (ie. I wouldn't be entering into a new 24mth $59 cap plan).
All seemed good until the next month... I received another huge bill.
I called again and basically was told that I had to pay the balance of the bills and that the $59 plan started at my next billing cycle and also included extra as pro-rata for starting plan part way through the month....didn't they say I began $59 at beginning of cycle...anyone confused yet?
Anyway...I asked them to cancel my contract and was told that I'd have to pay out my contract for the 23 months left (apparently I had agreed to another 24mth plan on $59 per month. I told the guy that I had been reassured in my last call and had names and numbers to confirm contact that my contract wouldn't be extended due to changing the cap amount. He apologised and in an uncomfortable manner told me that my original date of exit would still apply. Nice to catch them out occasionally...
Anyway, I have had many hours of discussing my issues with people from VF while extending the knowledge of their indian employees (informing the guy that no, I would not be going to Bondi Beach for xmas as I lived in QLD....)
I must admit that while I find my problems frustrating, they could be much worse. I am counting down the months til I can jump ship and eagerly awaiting my monthly calls to india via 1555... NOT
In my experience so far... document everything said and take any names and numbers you can get. Don't accept what customer care tell you as it always conflicts with the previous information provided (sometimes in the same conversation).
Be assertive and don't give in to their crap.

Agree with last comment. Voda has a policy of delaying complaints - they asked me for the same info three times in three seperate emails. Don't be a sucker like me and keep replying. After three emails complain to the Ombudsman.

I've been trying to resolve a faulty handset with Vodafone for over a year now with no success. After a lengthy email dispute i finally took the issue up with the Ombudsman and over night i got an email from Vodafone admitting that they did not cover my area (i live twenty minutes from the CBD of Sydney!) and that my contract was wiped. I thought this was all to good to be true so i rang customer service and asked when / how i cancelled my account and they denied any such email had been sent. I've cancelled my payments to them and told them that if my phone is not unlocked i will take it up with Ombudsman ASAP.
DONT BE NICE WITH VODAFONE PLAY HARD BALL. AFTER THREE EMAILS IF YOUR PROBLEMS NOT FIXED GO TO THE OMBUDSMAN.

11 Jan 2011 08:23:23 AM: Not surprised they moved quickly on a faulty handet issue being raised with the TIO. Because they know that a more independant body with power will deal with them.

This inconsistancy in the aftermath is something which should automatically escalate it to the next level with the TIO and is the basis to go to a state based government Consumer Protection Office.

11874 Someone from ACT thinks vodafone is catastrophically at 10 Jan 2011 11:43:22 PM
1)95% of the time, everyday now, I cannot make ph calls! I'll dial the no, only to be in limbo, waiting for ANYTHING to happen, before it just drops out. Never mind if I even wanted to call Vodafone to get help - it won't connect to anyone! Or it'll drop out while on a ph call. 2)I've often been kept waiting for 30mins+ when contacting Vodafone. Even when they've started 'helping' me, I've been transferred on to another 'customer service rep' only to wait longer each time! One time I was buck-passed onto about 7 ppl! 3)My voicemail, smss & pxts have consistently been delayed. 4)Don't get me started on 'Lara', or Vodafone staff for whom I have to simplify everything. Very unhappy.

11873 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Uber PHAIL! at 10 Jan 2011 10:56:26 PM
The network is pathetic! I get one bar on the network almost everywhere, and there are frequent call drops as well. Sometime the call goes blank and I end up talking to myself for a couple of seconds before it comes back. The 3G is painfully slow at times. My phone remains unreachable at home because I get no signal unless the phone is kept on a high table. Don't even get me started on their customer service; I've been kept on hold from an annoying 30 minutes to a frustrating 80 minutes before someone answers the call, and even then they are incompetent in their handling. They promise to call back but never do. What have I gotten myself into?

I became a new member of Vodafone and paid my first bill on last Dec online and the payment sucessfully went through on 22nd Dec. However, my account summary still shows that i did not pay my bill. I have talked to the staff, called vodafone line and they told me my payment was missing and they will investigate this issue and call back. Since now, I haven't got any call from vodafone. My bill due date is tomorrow and my payment option is direct debit. I'm afraid i need to go to the vodafone shop again. I really hate to do this....
11871 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Drop out at 10 Jan 2011 10:18:54 PM
Again, in another important business dealing over the phone, and out of the blue the line dropped out and seconds later I realised I was talking to myself. The mobile broadband is pain in the neck, in Strawberry Hills (Australian Post HQ) next to Surry Hills, the speed is a few bytes per second.
Called for disconnection, was put on hold for over 1 hour, gave up and pissed off, they literally don't give you the chance to speak to network connection team or the network connection team simply put everyone on hold to avoid resolution.
In 34 days, tried to contact customer service 14 times, and only 1 successful chat with a human, whom kindly directed to another department only to be put on hold until I gave up again.
It seems that TELSTRA is now the best amongst the 3, all phone calls are attended promptly, and yes HUMAN not put on hold with machine!!!!!

I do so agree with an earlier post here :
Definition of fraud - 'Obtain a benefit by deceipt'. The benefit to them is a financial gain through decieving the client that they will be provided a service. The deceipt is that they actually do provide a service. No service, take money = fraud.
VODAFONE IS THE BIGGEST SCAM OF 2010/2011 !!!!!!!!!!!
PLEASE AUSTRALIAN GOVERNMENT STOP THIS SCAM !

Current 3 customer, moving to VF with DHD + infinite plan. Seemed like a good idea at the time! I don't even have a service yet.
Delivery date I was given came and went. Called Customer Service. Told I was given wrong info and expect to wait up to another 2 weeks.
Handset arrived. Called their 1300 number to activate. Told 24 hours for porting to complete.24 hours came and went.
I called CS. 20 minutes on hold. They couldn't find out what the
problem was. Advised they'd call back within 30 minutes.
30 minutes came and went. They didn't call.
A couple of hours later I called again. On hold for 37 minutes before being
cut off. Called again. Cut off after 13 minutes. Looked at complaints
area on website. It reads "Apologies, but our email form is temporarily out of order." They suggest calling instead. Called again. Call dropped out again after over 30 minutes on hold. For what it's worth I emailed a complaint.
I'm not sure how they can call this Customer Service.

Hi all, do you want an EASY way out if you are stuck in a contract with Vodafone? Here is how i got out-
Go to the Telecommunications Ombudsman online and send them a complaint about Vodafone. You need to tell them that you/family member have mental health issues and that you cannot contact anyone incase of emergency because of Vodafones lack of service. Tell them you want to be out of the contract without and termination fees so you can change to another provider with better service.
Within the next week Vodafone will call you to say you are no longer in a 24mth contract and can disconect your phone at anytime without fees. Just pay the final bill.
Trust me, i did just this and i am now with Telstra and satisfied!

I decided approx 6mths ago to sign on for another contract, as all previous ones were as good as any other supplier offered. I was told by the person I was signing with, I can get back on my original plan once I signed up again. All I had to do was contact the call center & change back. {I had to sign on for a different plan to get a new phone}
After going through everything & signing on for another 24mths, I was told "sorry your old plan doesn't exsist anymore". I explained this was unexceptable & wanted out of the contract, I was then advised bad luck you have signed the contract {this would of sent my bill through the roof}. After about a week of trying to resolve through the Vodafone call center. I contacted the telephone ombudsman to get it resolved, Vodafone mysteriously found a way to put me back on my original cap, they claim does not exsist anymore!
They still find a way of stuffing my monthly budget by not billing one month, then twice the next. I'm definitley gone when my contract is up! This privacy issue is the icing on the cake.

Now this page you can freely share your thoughts of the company and blame what every telecommunication problem has.
All companies at one stage make mistakes by over charging customers, waiting calls and reception issues except for telstra(which you pay a fortune for). They all perform repairs and expansions, YOUR ON HOLD FOR ANY PHONE COMPANY for 20-30 minutes, i was on hold the other day for half an hour. The representatives are doing there jobs. There is always a high call volume, but they were kindly to help, i transfered one of my numbers and talked to them about my bill enquires, i've been a long term customer and too see people complain about reception and privacy issues is totally not entirely the companies fault. There is always scammers and leakes of all information completed illegally...eg wikileaks. The media has portrayed the story like any other story to make it even worst or enticing to sell papers and gain viewers.
Your on hold on the phone cause no one knows how to use a phone, in particular an iphone!
ITS VERY ENTERTAINING WATCHING A BIG COOPERATION FAIL!
easy steps such as switching you handset to 2G mode will help out with regards to making out goin calls. Reception isssues aren't always on the company. It can be your headset or the materials your housing is made of or if your in a rural area.
There is sometimes dirty people that will come to your door and sell you something or representatives on the phone. I got a F@#%ing call from telstra saying to move over there network they promisd me all this crap and i knew it was false. they said they were gonna weavier all my cost to move over and alter stated they'll give me 200 for the cancellation fees. It is not directly linked to the company.
THIS IS WHY YOU GO INTO STORES AND KNOW YOUR CALL RATES, COVERAGE, COST, etc.
and if you do have an issue i sure they'll be glad to help

Technology is growing and companies need to find a better way to check coverage that are more accurate and if not the customer should receive incentives that are reasonably they are will receive.
