26 Mar 2012 - Update Highest Rated Pain Stories Highest Rated Gain Stories Vodafail Local Facebook Page
Dear visitor,

Since its inception Vodafail.com has made a significant contribution towards raising awareness of the problems and issues faced by Vodafone customers.

Vodafone Australia customers have had the opportunity to voice their concerns, their fears and their troubles from every corner of Australia and beyond our borders. You have gathered the courage to stand up for your rights as consumers and to make your voice heard.

Each and every person who shared their story should have a sense of pride in this achievement and the changes that have occurred since the start of Vodafail.com.

More recently, traffic to Vodafail.com has declined significantly. Having achieved the goal of raising awareness and promoting concrete action in early 2011, we have now reached the point of closing Vodafail to new complaints. The site will remain online for as long as possible as a reminder and an example of what is possible when we share our experiences.

It has been a privilege to run this initiative and I'm am forever grateful for the help and support I've received. In particular I would like to thank Melissa, David and Travis for their continued efforts over the past 15 months. I'm also thankful and humbled by the support of ACCAN, Choice magazine and a wide range of media outlets, blogs and websites.

You can still browse existing stories and find out how to file a complaint if you are experiencing problems.

Until next time,

Adam Brimo

14212 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Drop outs at 22 Jan 2011 07:57:30 PM
My phone dropped out constantly and had no service when it went to the 3g network. Despite hours on the phone numerous suggestions the phone still did not work. So I changed networks to 3 what a joke now the same problem since Vodafone took over. I will be looking at different networks when my contract ends.

14210 Someone from SA thinks vodafone is third of calls it breaks down at 22 Jan 2011 07:54:07 PM
I have 3 businesses and I work from home. I have bought my IPhone on a Vodaphone contract. Marketing is critical for any business. It sounds pathetic - each 3rd time I speak to a client my phone reception breaks down and the call is cut off. Also, when I go to rural areas for my work - there is NO reception. How can I live 15kms from the CBD and only have 60% reception?!!!!!
24 Jan 2011 01:20:07 AM: Where are you? That sounds brilliant compared to where I am.
25 Jan 2011 12:55:25 PM: It would be worth clickng on the How to Complain link on ths site. I think you should be able to get out of your contract penalty free AND be reimbursed for the injury to your business. That is with the TIO. Also, it is worth considerng the class action against Vodafone

14209 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Changed to HTC and problems gone at 22 Jan 2011 07:25:11 PM
Hi, can you run a poll on how many of the listed complaints are iphone users. I had iphone with vodafone and experienced all the current issues, i changed to htc and all problems gone...
22 Jan 2011 07:28:52 PM: There are 65% more iPhones out there than any other phone so of course Vodafone keep blaming the iPhone. However this site has shown that people with HTC, Blackberry and Nokia are also experiencing problems.

The iPhone works perfectly on Telstra and Optus networks, only vodafones crap network that smartphones in general dont work.
22 Jan 2011 07:32:32 PM: If Vodafones pathetic network can't handle iPhones, why do they sell them?
22 Jan 2011 07:46:53 PM: The pathetic network just cant cope full stop!
22 Jan 2011 10:30:23 PM: I had a pretty ordinary Nokia phone with sat nav until a couple of weeks ago when my toddler dropped it in a glass of water...huge issues with reception and call dropouts with Vodafone (before, not after the glass of water incident, which killed it completely...can't think why...). After it drowned, I went into the Vodafone shop and bought a $29 basic Nokia brick which I love, because it has a torch and makes me feel like a girl scout, but the network and call dropout problems remain. It's not an iPhone issue, it's a Vodafone issue.
23 Jan 2011 07:27:00 AM: i have a vodafone samsung phone and have the same issues.

14208 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is terrible customer assistant at the store at 22 Jan 2011 07:17:52 PM
I just got my iphone 4 as upgrading. HOwever, they wrongly charged me for around $750 as the purchase of the handset. I realised this issue right after i saw this ebill. same old story. aftetr tried over 20 times of the custmer service line. I went to the store at the wynyard. 3/vodafone one. I told the female assistant about my story. She explained that she could not do anything to fix it (which is acceptable to me). and added that I should be billed like that ...that is nonsense. Even if u open the website, you will clear see this particular iphone 4 plan is free charge for upgrading.

I AM SO DISAPPOINTED AS SHE IS ' PROFESSIONA'--SHE knows better than me.

BUT laterly i called line, finally, got through. The call centre staff admited the issue, remove the debt.

Assume ppl in my situation believe in THAT assistant 's HELP and do nothing. Then they have to pay the 750 for someone else's fault.

terrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the wynyard 3/vodafone store!! terrible !!

14206 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Signal Loss in Local Area at 22 Jan 2011 07:15:39 PM
My area used to get a minimum of three bars, now we are lucky to get any signal at all. Enough for occasional sms to get through/be sent but hopeless for phone calls. Vodafone denies any knowledge of service problems in our area and recommended the phone needs replacing. 3 different phones (using the vodafone network) need replacing? I don't think so!

14204 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is DISGUSTED!!! at 22 Jan 2011 06:39:44 PM
First, let me explain about my case

i left Australia, Melbourne on 2007, i signed up with Three (now Vodafone) around 2005 and i cancelled my contract in 2007 when i left melbourne that time.

but for some dumb reason Vodafone/Three suddenly sent a debt notice saying that i owe them over AUD 3000...since i havent been paying my phone bill since 2008 which is kinda stupid since i left australia in 2007.

the thing that pissing me off is that i called vodafone/three customer service all they responded is that the account 042-179-3290 has been blocked by the aus debt collector so they cant do anything until my business with the debt collector finished, so i called the debt collector but they said that i have to finished the problem with vodafone/three since they are the one who said that i have the debt and all ausdebt do is to collect the debt from me. so they keep passing me around for about 10 times FUCKIN DUMB!!! it cost HELL A LOT OF MONEY TO CALL FROM OVERSEAS yet they didnt clear up anything.

and the weird thing that i found out after i investigate this matter, the account is actually under my name, but all the details that are on it is soo wrong e.g. my address, and etc. but yet...vodafone/three saying that the reason that the address is change because i moved out from my old address......what the fuck are they on about.....i left australia on 2007 and how am i suppose to moved out from my old address if im not in australia during that time....what an idiot.....
22 Jan 2011 07:06:37 PM: at NO time are you obligated to talk to a debt collector...you can demand vodafail deal with this...
24 Jan 2011 08:43:49 AM: Three is still three and vodafone is vodafone, they are two different networks, get your facts straight, they also have two different call centres

14203 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is very much at 22 Jan 2011 06:35:47 PM
Hi,

i have two major issues with vodafone since moving from 3, which are:
1) Call drop out. My wife is on vodafone and whenever i called here i have to always dial 2 or 3 times in order to complete our conversation. Quite frustrating.
2) As soon as i am away from Melbourne city there is no vodafone network, and i don't know why it also does not goes to roaming to any other network (not quite sure vodafone has roaming contract with which other company).

Have been just 5 months with vodafone, don't know how will i be able to continue my remaining contract with so much issues. Vodafone has not provided the service which is required. Regret to move from 3 to vodafone.

I have been on vodafone for nearly 2 years and have also shared the usual pain of contant dropouts and no reception. Ever since i started my service with vodafone i have experienced these problems, recently i called vodafone customer service to upgrade my plan and was on hold for a total of one hour and a half and in that hour and a half i spoke to 3 different departments. Customer Service put me on hold for 45 minutes and then I was informed that I was put through to the wrong department which was Sales and was then put on hold for a further 45 minutes to have the phone answered and to be told to please hold whilst he checked my account. All this only to be hung up on.... What a waste of my time. This is not good enough Vodafone, YOU ARE A JOKE!

Vodafone has a lot of cellphone holes in Auckland, New Zealand. Vodafone's customer service in New Zealand is diabolical. I rang to ask them about why some of my calls where directly going to voicemail and after 22 minutes waiting to speak to customer services including 7 minute wait from being put through to "technical", they said this hardly ever comes up and is your problem. We are a leading UK company and deal with it! They are exceptionally rude, and want to hold me to paying out of their contract term despite their technical service issues, and disgusting customer and technical service representatives!

Not a complain, but a question, please.
I have heard that "3" has or will be sold to Vodaphone and all 3's customers will be automatically transferred to Vodaphone without as much as a notice.
How true is this and do we have any legal defence?
Many thanks.
22 Jan 2011 07:10:42 PM: "3" is already owned by Vodaphone ..that is why we have so many issues related to it...they completely stuffed the software so that 3G doesn't work and being close to a tower doesn't work
22 Jan 2011 08:08:32 PM: Dont think 3 is owned by vodafone, they are managed partners

14196 Someone from WA thinks vodafone is A Joke at 22 Jan 2011 04:37:40 PM
Website is a complete joke and totally useless. Logins fail on regular occasions and the password is supposedly incorrect when its not. Unable to provide the requested information all the time and then told to ring 1555 to complete your request - yeah sure, might be completed in a week as it takes that long to get through to anyone. How is this company allowed to continue signing people up when there are all these problems? Surely this is, or should be, against the law! Minister for telecommunications - get off your lazy ass and do something about this. Vodafone customers pay your wages to.

I have been with vodafone for 15 years..that makes no difference to them these days...customer loyalty. They never used to be like this...obviously the CEO's are getting greedy.
I purchased an iphone in March 2010 with a 2 year contract. It is my business phone. all the issues I have had, like dropping out, can't hear people, when I hang up the phone freezes, a lot of the time I have no reception whatsoever..I live and work in Randwick. The whole thing is crap and the worst thing is I can't compalin about it and don't know how to...because they don't answer the phone...and if after a 30-40 minute wait..they answer...the phone cuts out and no-one calls you back. I am in full support of any action against Vodafone, has this all happened because the CEO's want to cut costs and make more money themselves whilst we all suffer?

How about setting up a complaints area for NZ Vodafone customers. I have spent the last 3 years complaining about coverage in our area. Every time a sales rep rings, every survey I'm asked to complete, complaining to customer service, asking to speak to someone in their technical area who could help, emailing their website has been ignored. We live 3-4km as the crow flies from a major cell site, our settlement has limited reception but unpopulted areas further away have excellent reception

I am an ex Vodafone customer. I had difficulties in closing our account...for a months after we did so via the Vodafone customer service number we kept getting bills. Vodafone told us they had no record of the call to customer service. Eventually we contacted the telecommunications ombudsman. They called Vodafone and finally convinced them that we didn't want to be customers anymore. So it's even difficult to quit the company.

14182 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Deliberately deceptive at 22 Jan 2011 02:51:43 PM
I changed jobs last October so had to get a new plan. When I signed up with vodafone I SPECIFICALLY asked about coverage for my street as I had previously had poor reception with optus but good reception with Telstra. The shop people showed me the green coverage map but I asked them to ring vodafone about my specific street. The response was First avenue in Jannali is sweet, no problems at all. The reality is service alternates between one bar and no service. Every call drops out, I have missed jobs,it has cost me money, it takes up to four days for text msgs .... In short my vodafone mobile is unusable at home.... Yet they say this is "sweet" .... It is a downright lie!
22 Jan 2011 03:59:49 PM: I live down the street from you on the other side of box rd over the creek, and its bad over there too mate. I'm even at the top of the hill and 2 bars max, shithouse data transfers etc. Piss poor coverage in Jannali/Kareela. Im out.

14180 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Dodgy Billing at 22 Jan 2011 02:37:09 PM
I have been with Vodafone for quite sometime now. They ar so dodgy in their billing . Here's how.

I am on a Cap plan with XXX$ amount of credit given to me each month. It is supposed to get updated at 9 pm everyday so that the customer gets to know how much more credit is remaining. By the end of my each month vodafone stops updating the call credit, in this way they keep you under an impressions that we have still much of the credit left and we still keep using it. once the bill cycle is done we realize that its already above the cap limit and vodafone puts you a huge bill. I tried contacting the customer service they say its a system error only for one month ......now this has bee4n happening for close to 12 months. Its absolutely Dodgy

I used to think Vodafone were totally in tune with customer's needs, not the case anymore. When you visit them in shop for assistance, you know that there interest is elsewhere, and only receive basic assistance. With my Nokia N97 I was told I shouldn't have bought the phone, that it was a dud and the iphone would be a better choice. They were the ones that said it was a good choice in the first place.August 2011 and I will be on the lookout for a better carrier/ deal. This will be the first time since 1997 I won't be with them.

Do you think Vodafone can survive this storm??

Please reply and answer seriously.
22 Jan 2011 02:15:11 PM: i dont know so sure, i think a lot of people wont sign up for vodafone anymore, consumers trust is gone....thats not good for a company....one thing for sure: i think we are counting the last days of that CEO Nigel, this is pure mismanagment.....
22 Jan 2011 03:14:21 PM: No Nigel Mews is good Mews as far as Vodafail is concerned!
22 Jan 2011 03:48:00 PM: They will. The infinity plans still have heaps of people in store. Even when i was loudly complaining (not abusing) in store, people are still happily signing up. It boggles the mind, but then again, you only have Telstra or Optus to choose from elsewhere so i guess theres not much choice.
22 Jan 2011 03:53:44 PM: Telstra = Best performance and coverage in Aus...That is the only choice to make (imo)
Vodafone = Worst performance and coverage in Aus...That is a choice that should NEVER be made
22 Jan 2011 04:11:52 PM: I would rather pull my eye out than give money to Telstra, but i think i'm going to have to in this case.
22 Jan 2011 04:20:50 PM: Me, I wold rather have a service that can be used anywhere, and be able to contact my kids with no fear of the network not working. As such irrelevant of my opinions of Tesltra they get my business as they can provide the best there is in Aus.
22 Jan 2011 04:25:19 PM: Vodafone stores are still averaging 120 New customers per store monthly with a 5% increase since november (the beginning of the media reports) the beat goes on
22 Jan 2011 04:47:47 PM: I didn't like Telstra until I was with Vodafone. Now after having the VF contracts cancelled on two phone I am now happy to pay for a service that works.

Every time I go past a vodafone store there are many people in there. Some are probably complaints but I am sure they are getting many still signing up. They will survive this no problem at all. They just wont be doing it with any of my money.

14174 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is FAIL at 22 Jan 2011 01:58:44 PM
I used to be a loyal Vodafone customer. I've been with them since the 90's and i'm afraid i have to start looking for a new provider.
Here's my tale.

I picked up an iphone 3GS particularly for 3G data access and particularly liked the fact that Voda offered free tethering so i could use it as a 3G modem when i am out in the field. Data has never been particularly fast, but i wasn't concerned. Since about mid 2010 though, data access on my iphone has been extremely slow and sometimes non-existent. Complained back then, no outcome.
September, went to NZ and used data to get Ski reports. The data access was much better there, and i used a fair bit. Happy to pay the bill, but got a call after i got back telling me i had to make a part payment on my phone bill to cover the excess. The operator was rude and persistent, quoting contract clauses to me. Naturally i told them to piss off and i paid it on my normal bill date. That made me angry. I got an apologetic phone call a week later, but the guy still wanted me to pre-pay. Ha ha very funny.
A few weeks later in October, my wife had a baby. Out of 30 SMS's that i sent after the birth, 5 reached their recipients, so a lot of my closest friends were put out when "i forgot them". Data access still slow, useless most times. Missing and late voicemails, SMS's etc. Complained again, was told it was my phone.
Shortly after, i dropped the phone, it broke so i claimed on insurance. Relatively painless process, except the store refused my request for a loan phone (even when i pointed out the ACCC finding) and it took a month to come back as a refurb unit. Lucky i was able to borrow an old phone from a mate. Interestingly, i had the same problems with voicemails and data once it came back Now, the phone has failed within the 3 months insurance warranty. Won't power on. I've made calls to Marsh (Voda insurance), the Voda call centre (useless), and 3 trips to stores and everyone is bouncing me to someone else and won't take the phone. One of the stores even bounced me to another store because they had no logins to their systems due to the 24 hour password changes after the privacy leak. Not to mention i can't get my bills from the links they email me so i have no opportunity to check them. I was charged a weird amount last month and i can't see the bill to make sure that i'm not being overcharged.
Another interesting thing is that the guy at the store i was last at mentioned that if i turn 3G off on the iphone, it works better. Isn't 3G kinda the point of a decent data network these days?

So, i think the TIO is my next stop. I would rather allow vodafone to sort this out, but they don't seem to want to and i can't think of anything worse than to spend another 2 hours waiting on hold again.

22 Jan 2011 02:12:40 PM: Lodge tio complaint online, painless, try make a note of some of the inconvienieces (drop outs, slow messages etc)
I did , voda released me and my wife from our contracts (I had about 9 months to go, wife had about 18 months to go), ported to telstra, believe it or not, $129/month unlimited calls texts etc is about same as my voda bills were, instead of 1 gig, I now get 3 gig, got an iphone 4, reception is great, downloads are like comparing dial up to cable.
Even if it were more expensive in my business I couldnt continue being tarred with the vodafone brush any longer. I am stoked
22 Jan 2011 02:14:28 PM: one more thing, ported saturday morning 10:00 am, when I checked 1 hour later, the telstra fone was up and running
22 Jan 2011 03:45:01 PM: OP here, just tried to give Voda one more chance. The IVR didn't even put my call through. "Technical problems" it said. Sorry Voda, you are about to have TIO problems from me.
22 Jan 2011 04:44:48 PM: you need boundries with this mob, enough is enough get out as soon as you can. Who knows how long it will take them to fix their failed network, they have no idea when they will fix it.

So keep on whinging on this cleverly named site but in 6 months time it will mean nothing. A drop in the ocean. Do you know every VF store/dealer is still connecting an average of 120 new customers each month despite the negative media attention. I wonder which provider will be next? 14171 Someone from SA thinks vodafone is repulsive and inept at 22 Jan 2011 01:36:30 PM
My iPhone stopped receiving MMS, calls drop and i get patches of no coverage in my CBD. I email their support, they auto-resolve my complaint with a bullshit FAQ page, make me reopen my own complaint, then tell me I've contacted the wrong department (via their own online form) and resolve it again. I tell them to forward it if the recipient is too useless to answer. Finally this happens, and they call four hours later than I specified, leaving VM that they'll try again same time next day - because the inept person in the first place couldnt give them the right time. I try to email again to give them the right time, since they won't leave a callback number, and they resolve it with "we're an outbound callcentre."

Thank god I've contacted the TIO. I just want out of my contract...I'm done with their ineptitude.

14170 Someone from Somewhere else thinks vodafone is complete at 22 Jan 2011 01:30:45 PM
I gave up on Vodafone here in NZ after about a year of their pre-pay service. Their systems were just too stupid, their staff too condescending and unhelpful and their prices too high. We are blessed here with a new player in the field who saw the holes in Vodafone's service and decided they could do it better. I hope they survive.

On the matter of poor reception: a common cause is proximity to a PC. PCs are very efficient broadband radio noisemakers as well as being a common place for cellphones to live, be tethered and to charge. If you phone suddenly comes back to life when you get >10m from your computer, there you are.

Iphone 4s are a different matter, there your mistake is holding the thing in your hand.

Thanks for bringing Vodafone to task. They really are that fatal combination of useless and arrogant.

I am currently 18 months into a 2 year contract for mobile broadband (the USB stick modem). Up until 2 months ago the system worked very well and I was happy with it.

However, the internet is now constantly dropping out and disconnecting as well as being very slow when it is connected.

I approached the Vodafone dealer who signed me up and requested early termination of my contract with fees. They indicated that they cannot terminate contracts and I would have to phone the call centre. I suspect this is to delay the termination so that they can maximise their trailling commissions.

My Blackberry had a fault. It overheated (so much that i couldn't hold it to my ear) and then the screen would go blank and the system would hang. I called Vodafail a dozen times as my phone was in warranty. I went to the vodafone dealer and after much hoo haaing about get your invoice, other paperwork etc. (to throw you off track) they point blank said, take it to an independent mobile shop and get it fixed. They even had advertising flyers of the mobile shop like they were sending business to them. The mobile shop said it would cost $250 to fix. I promptly disconnected my vodofone plan and switched to Telstra!!! Sorrry vodafail.... you really failed! Not coming back to you again!

My really annoying issue with Vodafone is that I have sent text/MMS messages to local friends less than 50km away, and they either receive them a day later, or when I send a picture message, it fails to send, so I delete the unsent message from my phone, next thing they receive the message 4-5 times. This has happened with both text and picture messages. I have also sent text messages to my family to pick me up from somewhere and the message has not yet reached them, due to my coverage being so low (I am in Sydney metro area) so I have to either use a payphone to call instead. Usually around 5-24 hours later, they then receive my message.

You've got your delivery of mobile friendly web sites sorted, sort of. Now how about getting your servers to deal with full blown web sites so they arrive in a timely fashion. Or is that just too much to ask?

No mess but lots of frustration. On my occassions, calling from outside the front door of the house to Vodafone mobile inside the house and the response was 'No coverage' whereas calling the other mobile phones (Telstra & Optus) in the house were perfectly fine. These calls were made in the Perth metropolitan (10km from Perth CBD).

When I approached the Vodafone shop, the Customer Service Personnel told me it was either a faulty SIM (which they could replace) or a faulty mobile phone unit. I did both but the problem still persist.

The real problem lies with the VODAFONE RECEPTION.

I left Vodafone two years ago because of their poor customer service. On the occasion that I needed to talk to someone it was almost impossible to talk to anyone. "Lara" was one of the reasons I left. It is a shame because Vodafone used to be seen as a really innovative hip sort of company - a bit like Apple. Now my perception (as well as many others) is that they are a big clunky organisation who have dumped ccustomer service to cust costs.

I am constantly dropping out of service with Vodafone all of a sudden. I have been with Vodafone for the last 8 years and for the last 3 - 6 months I have had nothing but drama drama drama. I know that it has gone down hill because now it doesn't work in places that it used to. I will be on a business call and it drops out and it just looks sooooo unprofessional.
The plans / customer service etc are fantastic but having no reception or consistency is the problem.
In addition, you can't always dial out because it says "congestion".
It is ridiculous and causes a lot of trouble. Text messages also sometimes don't come to me or they can take hours.
Am OVER the "SOS" signal being on my phone.

Despite being in a regional location, I received reasonable reception from Vodafone, although I will occasionally have calls drop out, or go direct to voice mail. However, using the internet through my phone is appalling. I've gone the extreme of purchasing a Telstra Prepaid Wi-Fi device for data access. In my view, Vodafone have sorted their voice/text issues, by switching on 3G out here, but need to lift their game for data.

14150 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is a headache!! at 22 Jan 2011 10:22:52 AM
I have been a Vodafone prepaid customer for around 8 years and NEVER EVER have a had such crappy service until now. My text messages are CONSTANTLY delayed to the point of not receiving things that have been sent to me days previously. I don't get texts to advise me of voicemail messages when they are left and when i do, quite frequently i'll get more than one message leading me to call again thinking someone has left another message when in fact there is nothing. What a waste of credit. My internet is unbelievably slow and more often than not, wont connect in the first place. Frequently, when i try to make a call my phone just says, Network Busy or No Network Coverage. My service drops out continually from full bars to absolutely nothing all of a sudden. This happens quite frequently when i'm on a call and ironically happened the three times i attempted to call Customer Care yesterday. When i eventually spoke to someone regarding my problems they advised there were apparently no service problems in my area (i think the reason for my call and the difficulties to even get through to a Vodafone number clearly proves that little theory incorrect but whatever you say love) and that i can change my network settings to manually search for another provider such as Telstra or Optus if i do not have Vodafone service in a particular area. I queried whether using another provider was going to cost me more money when making calls etc and the operators reply was to tell me they couldn't guarantee it wouldn't. So why wouldn't i just change to Telstra or Optus? Apparently she had no script for answering this question. I was also offered "100 free minutes" as an apology for my inconviences. As my main reason for calling was because i had lost most of my credit the previous day sitting on hold to a 13hundred number (for unrelated reasons) and continually being disconnected and having to call back, i asked if this "100 free minutes" would work for any number? 'Oh yes, yes any number maam'. So i can call a landline or 13hundred number and use these "free minutes"? i asked. Oh no it's only to mobiles. SO IT'S NOT TO ANY NUMBER THEN? I hung up from this 'Customer Care Operator' feeling more disgruntled than before i had made the call (well, technically three calls). Not only did i have no real solution to my reported problems, the only thing she could suggest was going to cost ME more money!! I have always praised Vodafone in the past on their great deals for Prepaid customers and good service. But i am so greatly dissapointed by not only the problems but the lack of service when i called regarding these problems that once my supposed "free minutes" have been used, i'll be looking for a new provider. Any recommendations?
23 Jan 2011 10:53:43 PM: Try Optus, their Turbo Cap and dollar days prepaid options are pretty good.

I had a vodafail broadband connection that worked for 2 weeks over a 4 month period. When I contacted vodafail they advised me that I was in a poor reception area... I live in the middle of the sydney cbd...whhaat? They then told me that there was no complaints department for their support area, only for billing disputes. I pointed out to them that this was a breach of telco law in this country and they completely ignored me and said that they would pass my complaint onto the relevant area... what area would that be if there is no complaints department for the support area? After months of no data connection i finally told them to cancel my broadband at no charge to me and they agreed as (in their words) "We are in breach of your contract as we could not supply you with a good internet connection". I have retained my mobile phone with them but I am sure it will only be for a limited time as I expect that their connectivity issues are only going to get worse not better unless enough people complain. Good on you Adam for setting this up. The power of the people will succeed!

I have an iphone 3Gs and until a few months ago had no issues. I then discovered that my emails were not being delivered from the phone, or some were, randomly at best. I tried the store staff and then tech support and no-one could fix it until I found this article.

http://jamesone111.wordpress.com/2010/12/16/how-to-get-isp-mail-over-smtp-on-vodafone/

Which solved the problem that no-one from Vodafail or 3 could.

My advise to people using an iPhone 3Gs is to do a couple of test emails via the sim and then via wi-fi. Just because your phone makes the swoosh sound, don't assume your message has been sent.
22 Jan 2011 09:58:24 AM: See what happens when you try and solve your own problems. Did you know most people having problems on the VF network are Iphone slaves mmmmmm coincidents? I think not. Maybe the next website should be called AppleIfail.com.....VODAFRIEND
22 Jan 2011 10:00:29 AM: That is because it is the most popular phone in the world. The iPhone works perfectly on the other networks, it is just vodafones network that cannot cope with Smartphones.
22 Jan 2011 10:08:10 AM: Did you know that the famous Death Grip that affected iPhone 4 also affects its other models in a lesser degree. And apple even admitted it. The sales however were not affected because Iphone slaves blame networks rather then their handset. Alot of People buy smartphones without having the slightest idea on how to use them and they always take their frustration out on their network rather then face the fact they may be not smart enough to learn thier new toy.....VODAFRIEND

i signed up to get vodafone mobile broadband (The USB dongle thingy) it took 2 months for it turn up, I was billed for the first month. After much complaining the refunded the months charges and then gave me 3 months free, which never happened. I gave up on that over time.

For the past 2 months, the internet drops out every 2-3 mins but never disconnects. However the green light disappears and then comes back again.

I live in the Knox region in east Melb, yet signal strength is always between 2 and 3 bars. I upgraded the firmware and the software. The problem still persists.

I'm using Windows 7 on a dell mini.

Also, my mobile is with Vodafone, and it regularly drops out in several places if I'm talking while on the train. Black spots are at Heathmont, Nunawading, Blackburn, Box Hill, Surrey Hills and Canterbury. I used to have a Telstra mobile and it worked perfectly fine the whole way through.

The coverage maps shows strong signal for the whole area where I live and work etc. There's a even a black spot walking down Auburn Rd, Hawthorn.

I hope I can cancel the plan in Feb/March (about 6 months early) with no cost, so that I can get ADSL again and get a much more reliable mobile carrier.

Never have I been so disgruntled before. And I'm someone who has a very high threshold for this sort of stuff. Generally I can live with it and it won't bother me, but this is so frustrating. I can't use the internet yet they'll still charge me for it.

2- Worst Call centre ever. Can't understand a word they're saying and the connection is poor too. Even when you explain the problem they are clueless in solving it. Couldn't even work out from the mobile number details of the deal you had signed up on, had to call them back with an order number. Even when this happened they said no deal existed.People are poorly trained and they have hired a bunch of incompetent mugs.
3- Ridiculous long waiting times when contacting the Call Centre
Once the plan expires, so will my time with Vodafone forever.I will never recommend this telco to anyone.

I get 0 to 1 bar of reception in my house which means I sometimes drop calls.
On my trip from home to work via train, My reception varies significantly from station to station, some stations have a 3-4 bars other stations have 0-1 bar or no reception at all and I'm forced to use GSM networks. This is horrible any internet use.
In the Airport tunnel, Optus and Telstra have 3G reception, Three/Voda has none.
Plans are comparatively expensive now, and reception is poor, I'm moving to Optus/TPG/Telstra when this damned contract ends

1. My wife is on vodaphone. Coverage in Launceston coverage is pathetic and non existent on the east coast.
2. I am on telstra and I get a monthy text reminding me to pay my vodaphone account!!! I have never been with vodaphone and never will be.
3. Last year we spent three months travelling around SA, VIc and NSW ...mostly inland regions. Telstra coverage was excellent while vodaphone was virtually non-existant. This was a huge eye-opener for us. The wife has only 5 months left on the contract and cannot wait!

14129 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Reception/Customer Service/Billing at 22 Jan 2011 08:31:42 AM
Too many reception black spots around Melbourne and outer suburbs.

1 Example: Since approx 1998 same 500m-1km radius on Camberwell Rd
Camberwell Rd Just near where it meets Glen Iris road, you will drop
you call without fail...that's if you can get reception.
(Telstra/Optus no issue whatsoever)

Too many country/rural area's no reception at all.

1 Example: Tarwin Lower / Venus Bay (Gippsland Vic)
You cannot get reception! Has been like this as
long as i can remember... circa 1994-1996.
As soon as you go past Inverloch forget it.
Have to drive to beach 5 carpark at Venus Bay,
jump fence walk to highest sand dune or stand up on
the park bench to get reception across the inlet back
to Inverloch/Wonthaggi (line of sight/weather dependent).
(Telstra/Optus, no issue all areas)

Billing.

When I was on contract with vodafone, invoices were never correct, seemed
to be always a month behind.

Customer Service.

A long time ago, before Lara also, used to very good.
I used to call them about my inaccurate invoices and staff would
be very helpful/knew the systems and products, or who to transfer
to if they could not help.

Now with that hindrance of Lara and when you get a staff member,
it can be really difficult, some need more training.

OMG The staff at vodafone stores, dont ask them for help, they have to use Lara!
How stoopid is that.

As a customer service representative and sales person at the store you should have full access to assist customers.

I signed for vodafone broadband for 2 years. the 1st month was okay. but since then, at least 7-8 time per week , my internet down for few minutes. at least once a month, I need to call vodafone to fix it as the ineternet totally down. I have to wait a minimum of 30 miniutes to get hold of them. One time finally i got hold of them after 30 mins , they cut me off .
The guys from vodafone were so rude as well, forget thier accents, the way they speaking like they are speaking to a IT technician.
It might have a problem with the modem, but that was provided by vodafone . they said my vodafone modem try to log in many times . but that is not my problem, the modem auto log out and log back in automaticlly.

14127 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Getting Mad at 22 Jan 2011 08:14:47 AM
I am getting bombarded with telemarketing and spam emails. I'm sure it is from the leak, it couldn't be anything else. I tried to get out of my contract for breach of privicy, they said i couldn't prove that my info was leaked. How can you know if your one of the millions that had you info leaked? Simple answer, You Cant! It looks like we just have to grin and bare it.
22 Jan 2011 01:47:23 PM: Today a button fell of my shirt.. Vodafone's fault!
Yesterday it rained when I was walking to the shop.. Vodafone's fault!
Last week I got a splinter in my finger.. Vodafone's fault!
Well I don't actually know for sure if it was Vodafone's fault but it couldn't be anything else.

Really people, come on. Not every little inconvenience or annoyance in your sad little lives can be Vodafone's fault. I myself no longer use my landline due to constant telemarketing and Vodafone doesn't have that number in their system, and I also get spam emails on an account I never gave Vodafone.

I work in a VHA store. We use a program called Siebel (the same program that Telstra uses, as well as other non-Telco business). Siebel is where all customer accounts/details are kept. To access this program you need a username and password. As for the 'leak', it comes down to this. Some staff (now fired) have given out or sold their username/password/access to Siebel. Now to actually view a customer's account you actually have to specifically search for it via name/phone number/billing account number/sim card serial number/phone IMEI. The idea that a random selection of customer's detail have been leaked is preposterous, let alone millions.

I read through this site and I do see many genuine complaints. I also see a lot of wildly exaggerated complaints as well as complaints that are either outright lies or issues that are in no way Vodafone's fault.
If you look at this site as a survey or census then how is VHA supposed to accurately access and resolve their problems with inaccurate information?

By all means post your real, honest and genuine issues but keep your made up crap for the letters section of penthouse.

Where are these posts you mention??

Can I please have the numbers?

I have searched for them but I am unable to locate them........perhaps they are not there...........

Similarly where are posts suggesting 'Not every little inconvenience or annoyance in your sad little lives can be Vodafone's fault'??

Again I find no posts

You say 'I myself no longer use my landline due to constant telemarketing..........' unless I have incorrectly read your sentence you must be wrong, unless you are the telemarketer as they (telemarketers) ring you.

Can you please clarify?

You say 'to actually view a customer's account you actually have to specifically search for it via name/phone number/billing account number/sim card serial number/phone IMEI'

Do they?? I have never been asked anything other than my phone number and PIN and presto all my account is visible!

When I have been unable to remember my PIN they as for my full name and date of birth and presto all my account is visible!

You say 'The idea that a random selection of customer's detail have been leaked is preposterous, let alone millions.'

You work for VHA but you are also a database and security expert?

You are in the wrong job!!

You say 'I also see a lot of wildly exaggerated complaints as well as complaints that are either outright lies or issues that are in no way Vodafone's fault'

Just how many would that be, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 more than 5................6 perhaps, can you put a number on it?

You say 'If you look at this site as a survey or census then how is VHA supposed to accurately access and resolve their problems with inaccurate information? '

Errrrrrrrr............ahem............ummmmmmmmmm...............see the big hole in your argument.......... yet?

I do.........

You say 'By all means post your real, honest and genuine issues but keep your made up crap for the letters section of penthouse'

Yes Sir.

Yesterday it rained when I was walking to the shop.. Vodafone's fault!
Last week I got a splinter in my finger.. Vodafone's fault!"
and
"Not every little inconvenience or annoyance in your sad little lives can be Vodafone's fault"

These are my posts, no one else posted these so I can't show the posts. It was sarcasm, whether it was good sarcasm is clearly debatable. My point was the original poster claimed that spam/telemarketer calls couldn't possibly be due to anything other that the privacy leak. This is simply untrue. Don't blame everything on Vodafone. As I meant to say, I used to get calls TO my landline number FROM telemarketers, and I get spam sent to some of my email accounts and both my landline and those email accounts are not known to or are kept on Vodafone's system so they couldn't have been leaked by Vodafone hence not all spam/calls from telemarketers are because of Vodafone leaking your info.

"You say 'to actually view a customer's account you actually have to specifically search for it via name/phone number/billing account number/sim card serial number/phone IMEI'
Do they?? I have never been asked anything other than my phone number and PIN and presto all my account is visible!"

Apologies, I guess I should have written 'to actually view a customer's account you actually have to specifically search for it via name OR phone number OR billing account number OR sim card serial number OR phone IMEI'

And you've actually validated my point with "I have never been asked anything other than my phone number and PIN and presto all my account is visible". Exactly! The point being they needed something to search with i.e. YOUR PHONE NUMBER. The system is not like the White Pages telephone directory for example. Unlike the phone book you cannot just open a page and see everyone's details. You have to search for a specific person's account with any of the above search criteria. Therefore the idea that millions of customer's account details have been leaked IS preposterous, that is unless of course you already have any of the search criteria for those millions of customers and are going to search for them individually. Not impossible but very highly unlikely.

And no, I'm not a database and security expert. I do however know the capabilities and limitations of the system that all stores use and from which the leak allegedly came from, as I have been using it on an almost daily basis since Vodafone switched over to it. I also have common sense.. both of these you clearly do not have.

I did say "I also see a lot of wildly exaggerated complaints as well as complaints that are either outright lies or issues that are in no way Vodafone's fault.

I did also say "I read through this site and I do see many genuine complaints". I see you neglected to add that part. This in itself gives validation to my point. You probably skipped that part because without it you think you make a better argument, not a fair and balanced one though. Best not let the truth get in the way of a argument huh? I know VHA's systems and policies and products and I'm also a Vodafone customer myself who uses the products and services extensively every day and have not yet experienced the issues that other customer's claim. Does that mean those issues don't exist? Certainly not. I know there are problems, problems that people have posted here. But also knowing the products/systems/services I see there are also posts here that not just exaggerate but blantly lie. Again, you exaggerated part of my post by not including the whole comment to try and make a point. Many people have told the truth and many people lie and exaggerate. You want an exact number? There are 13000+ complaints here and you want an exact number??

You are an unreasonable idiot and I do hope if you are currently a Vodafone customer that you do move to another network so I would never have the misfortune of having you coming into my store.

12 Jul 2011 05:51:05 AM: Siebel, the application the Vodafone uses to store customer information is a database application. This means that the whole application is driven by a giant database. This also means that all the customer information is stored in a giant database in a flat form. This means that with the right access, anyone can view all the customer data that they want without have to specify a name/number or any of the search parameters you mentioned above.

In some cases, the username/password combination for the Siebel application is the same as the username/password combination for the Siebel database. Thus, it is theoretically possible that the "sold" username/password could access the database and thus all the customer data.

My FREETEXT number for topping up keeps not working - I just get a message saying I haven't got enough credit to send a text! Rang up call centre, held on for ages, finally got a guy who told me yes, that was quite right "because I had dialled over 100 '027' numbers over the past year" ...???? I tried to figure out what this had to do with a FREE text no. not being free ... and got nowhere.
I tried to put my query through the vodaphone website and the email function didn't work.
So I rang the callcentre back and ended up speaking to an 'engineer' who was only on call-centre duty because they were overloaded with complaints, she said. She told me the guy I had been speaking to was an idiot, added my top up for me but couldn't explain why my Free text no. was demanding money before it would work.

I have been with VF for years now. I never had to many call drop outs until more recently with an iPhone. With every call I make it will drop out at least 2-3 times in a short conversation. This is increasingly frustrating for me, as I am trying to run a business using VF's crappy 'service' and I'm the one looking like an idiot to my clients. I have found that the newer phones are the ones that are dropping out more frequently. In my own house where I usually get full reception, I am constantly out of service.

Sent 2 emails with no response. Still have not spoken to anyone after 25 days. Got my first email response yesterday saying that i would get contacted by their technical team soon and just added up the cost for me to cancel my contract! I pay a monthly cap yet I have probably sent a total of 3 texts only so probably spent less that $1 of my cap :( I just want to talk to someone!!! Bah!!!

My 70 year old Mother went to get a mobile phone to be able to contact my brother in Hospital. They didnt explain everything to her and sign her up and pushed her out the door with a phone she couldnt use and a plan that was way over what she needed. When I went and confronted them about the issue they said they could do nothing and directed me to the customer service number. I call customer service they listened to my complaints and said they would call me back with an answer to my problem. 3 days later no call. So I call customer service again and they have no listing of my first call and say there is nothing they can do and that I will have to go back to the store as its there problem. I am extremely angry by now and confront the employees in the store making sure everyone can hear my complaints. They finally conceed to change her phone but only with equal or less value phone even know the $45 infinate plan as a lot more options for the same money she is paying.

I wont ever use Vodaphone(fail) they pray on unknowing people and kick them out the door with stuff they dont need!!
22 Jan 2011 02:05:30 PM: As someone who currently works in an officially VHA owned store i can tell you that aside from our base salary we also earn commission for the total sales our whole store does each month. Commission is in no way affected by whether we sell the lowest plan or the highest so it is actually in our best interest to sell a plan/phone that best matches our customer's needs. I don't know what the current commission structure is for Vodafone resellers but 3 years ago when I worked for a reseller I did get more money for selling higher caps than lower ones. Perhaps this sale occured at a reseller as I can't see the benefit for a company owned store.
Also, generally the easier to use phones i.e. the phones I would recommend for 70-ish old women are incidentally cheaper so maybe accept the exchange. I always warn against simply choosing the handset with the R.R.P. over a handset that is better suited for their use.
23 Jan 2011 07:05:23 PM: Yeah Nokia 2720 for $69 and a prepaid with a one year expiry would have done the trick. Having said that your mum is an adult and probably something about the plan attracted her to it. The rep would have felt evil if they gave her a low value phone for the commitment maybe. I'd be comfortable selling her a 12 month or no-commitment 45 and giving her a 'simple' phone for free or get her to buy it outright.
24 Jan 2011 08:19:22 PM: Haha... I see I'm not the only one who goes straight for the Nokia 2720 and 365 day recharge for the oldies. It's the big numbers huh?

Where to start? I live in Dunedin NZ, actually in a village just 25Km south of the city centre. For 14 YEARS I have been trying to get coverage improved by VF! The latest generation of phones are worse than ever, coverage is now less than 25% of what it used to be and yet I still have to pay full monthly rates. Multiple calls, letters, pleadings, letters to the papers. NOTHING but broken promises! Aside from no coverage or the multiple dropped calls the international roaming charging is nothing short of a rip off. My latest bill of $500+ following two weeks in OZ is case in point. I even turned OFF all data roaming services and made or received hardly any calls as I was using Skype over a WiFi connection. There are charges for data on the account that don't even conform to their own reported charging plans. Go figure?

Signed up again for 2yrs about 6mths ago because last time I was with this Telco, I found them great.I did my homework and looked at coverage maps, talked to vodafone staff in stores about coverage etc to make sure that they could meet my needs. I was told that in my area there was full 3G coverage and was only getting better as the tower upgrades would be completed in the very near future. I took the plunge and resigned. Mistake. Every time I call another Vodafone mobile (for free) it cuts out after a few minutes, not to mention that the service in my house is very patchy considering I live in a metropolitan area. The internet / apps are painful to load and have only gotten worse over the time. Coverage is unreliable, and like so many out there was told that it must be my handset and they swapped SIM cards. Coverage is worse. I feel thst customer service has slipped dramatically since I was last with this carrier and I feel they are just reading from a cheat sheet and do not understand what they are talking about. I am very dissappointed with my Vodafone experience this time and I am really hoping that I can get out of my contract as they have not fulfilled their part of the agreement and provided me with the services that I pay for. Not happy and neither is my workplace because they cannot contact me half of the time.

I signed up for an iphone4 in October, the service staff that I dealt with were great. When the phone arrived I was not able to connect to the web, I called Vodaphone and had to deal with Lara and being placed on hold for 45 mins.
When I finally was able to speak with a human being they could not communicate properly but assured me they had fixed the connection issues and for me to turn my phone off and back on. I did and still could not connect to the web.
2 days later and at least 3 hours of Lara and being on hold I was able to speak to another rep who couldnt communicate who told me she need a 3 digit code which was on my paperwork to activate all the functions of my phone. There was no code anywhere on any of the paperwork. I relayed this info and the rep refused to help me. The next day - Lara, on hold...and I got the same rep and we had the same conversation...next day different rep and same request for 3 digit code.
Four days later and countless hours of Lara and on hold and terrible advice and customer service I get in contact with another rep who couldnt communicate. At least this one was able to fix my issue in two seconds without the imaginary 3 digit code.
Good job Vodafone, all you really achieved was me complaining to everyone that will listen about your terrible service and dissuading them from ever signing up with you.

I have been with vodafone for a year in 1 month for which i will not be renewing my contract. I currently havnt been able to use 3G for 5 days and their GPRS is about as fast as dial up in 1990. After consistent calls of around 1-2 a fortnight waiting on the phone for hours and dealing with their pathetic LARA system only to repeat all the info to a operator who can barely speak English, I AM OVER IT!!!
I have been asked to do diagnostic tests and replace sim cards numerous times which I have done and the problem has only got worse. Vodafone should pay dearly for this and hopefully learn from their amateur mistakes.

I have been with Vodafone for more than 4 years and recently moved from Melbourne cbd (where I experienced limited drop-outs and relatively good network connection) to ALbury, NSW. Since the move, I have had constant drop outs and hardly any network connection. I have an Iphone and was advised by customer service, after waiting 45minutes, to try turning the handset on and off. If it was a handset problem I would of been having issues in Melbourne. They have now told me they are looking into the network coverage in my area and I should have a response in about 7 days... We'll see...

Also, to the people that come on here and say that Vodafone customers should stop complaining, that we pay less than other providers so should expect some of these issues.. This is a site generated for people to air their grievances you morons. And why come onto this site to say stop complaining anyway? Have you nothing better to do with your time?

14112 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Falling apart. at 22 Jan 2011 07:26:18 AM
I have been a Vodafone customer for several years now, and until recently (since new year 2011) I have had no real problems with Vodafone.
Just in the last week I had found that there was a couple of times I stepped outside our office building in the area around Morningside/Colmslie in Brisbane, and had a barrage of SMS messages advising me of missed calls and a few SMS messages come through at once.
Missed calls? Had me thinking as to what is going on, as I have never had any service issues in that area previously.
This happened a few times over the last week or so, and one day I went to send an SMS or make a call in the office and I found I had no service, my phone sould see the Optus, Telstra, 3Telstra networks, but no Vodafone!
By now I'm wondering if my phone had developed a fault. I have a spare phone, a bit older but works OK. Same result. No service at the office.
That night I discovered that I had similar issues at home, where previously I have had no issues.
Further tests revealed that I could see other networks but not Vodafone, and there was obviously nothing wrong with my phone.
I called Vodafone's customer service, and I'm on the phone for an hour before I manage to talk to somebody, for whom English was obviously not her first language, it then took me another 15 mins to get her to understand that I was having service issues. She advised me that they were not aware of any problems with the network, I should get my phone checked, or purchase a new phone because mine was likely faulty.
I explained my tests and results, she took more details and advised me that somebody would contact me back, I gave her my vodafone number and a Telstra mobile number to get me on, in case the Vodafone number didn't get me.

I'm still waiting for that call back.

Yesterday, I did notice that my Vodafone phone was suddenly working OK in the office building, I once again had service as I did before, and the service had improved at home, but it never seems to be the same from day to day.

All these problems with service/lack of service have come about after Vodafone's merger with 3, so it would seem.

I'm not happy!

i have been a long term customer of vodafail, however during the past 8 months and esp the past 6. My service has become worse and worse. I live in a melbourne suburb with plenty of phone towers around and still my reception disappears and i also have the call just disengage while in on a call.

I have called vodaphone several times and followed there assistance and changed sim cards and even went to apple and obtained a new i phone, and performed a reset of the phone. i had there credit department call me back and after explaining to them the issues at great length and repeating myself they had no solution, even while i was on that particular call the phone disengaged as usual and i didnt even get a return call.

i explained to them that i am a truck driver and i cannot be pulling over each time i want to make a call, and i cant afford to be seen even touching my phone while in transit. I am sick of calling people back sometimes 3 -4 times in the course of ten minutes, also there are volume issues where the people i am speaking with can bearly hear me or the sound fades in and out.

I hope sometime comes out of this submission. When i have 2 hours spare again i will be calling them back !

14108 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Huge at 22 Jan 2011 07:01:33 AM
I sent a complaint recently to Vodafone after this episode (you can tell I just had ENOUGH of putting up with their horrid service!) says it all really..

I want to vehemently complain about the absolutely terrible customer service I experienced today. I attended the above store after work today and waited for over 40 MINUTES before being served. In all my years, I have never waited in store for that amount of time without even one of the SIX staff members at least advising that they would serve us shortly. There were at least 6-8 other people in the queue, half eventually left but as I needed my prepaid broadband voucher, I had no choice. I am extremely disappointed with the customer service in this store. At no time did the staff attempt to tell us who were waiting in the queue acknowledge we were waiting. It took two people to service one person, one person constantly walking around on a mobile, one who was serving and then just walked away from the counter and did not return or attempt to tell any other staff to attend the counter!!! I work for a government agency and even for me, this was DISGUSTING!!! Absolutely and unequivocally the WORST service I have had the misfortune of experiencing for a very long time. I am so angry that I am seriously contemplating changing my service with you even though it has been quite good. I do not often complain in this fashion but this has not been the first time I have had this happen in this store, except this time it was exceptionally longer than ever! After venting my frustration on facebook, I am still very upset at this. Surely I can get better service from Optus, Telstra, Virgin or 3 then what I had to endure today!! I would like to know that this complaint has been brought to the attention of the store manager and staff members. How can you treat your customers in this way?? Especially at a time when we are on our way home from work to be so disregarded and disrespected by your staff. I do not know if staying with Vodafone is worth being treated so poorly!!!
22 Jan 2011 07:35:25 AM: Hi there, same thing happened to me as well, and I ended up cancelling from vodafone, while it is not acceptable to treat people like this, in the interest
of yourself not having to waste time, many times you can get vouchers from petrol stations and I also used to go through vodafone website, but I wouldn't even trust them with my credit card details in light of all the security breaches lately.

14106 Someone from WA thinks vodafone is EPIC at 22 Jan 2011 06:37:55 AM
Bought a brand new pre paid SIM in QLD. Had not had a pre pay before (always had a contract) so I didnt' realise I had to register my phone. When I tried a few months later to set up roaming I had a HUGE problem.. . My phone was registered to another person and I couldn't change any of the set up etc as I didn't know the password, secret question etc. I have tried for about 18 months to explain the situation to Vodafone. My phone was registered by someone 6 months before I even purchased the SIM. Even though I have my receipt to prove this Vodafone just state if I don't know the user details they can't help me. They suggested that perhaps someone at the shop had registered my phone and I should go back there and talk to them. I was living in WA at the time and wasn't exactly going to fly to QLD to sort it out. Phoned the shop I purchased it at, they don't register customers SIM cards.
I could just get a new SIM but the number is catchy and hey why the hell should I??? It's not my mistake. On investigation it is pretty easy to register someone elses SIM card and unwittingly create all sorts of problems for the real SIM owner.
Throughout this mess Vodafone have basically said I have stolen someones SIM card. That makes me REALLY angry!!! GGRRRR Vodafone

Another grumble....Everytime I talk to someone they call me "K- ONE"....My initials are KL and obviously a lower case L looks like a One. HILARIOUS. "Yes K-One, how can we help you today"..."OK K ONE, I'm just going to place you on hold"
22 Jan 2011 06:39:42 AM: oops, that was meant to be EPIC FAIL, definitely not EPIC.

14104 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Problem with my new Blackberry at 22 Jan 2011 06:24:54 AM
Apart from dropping out up to 30 times a day last week (including one call where I dropped out over 8 times) I went into the North Sydney branch of Vodafone to get my new Blackberry replaced as the one I have is faulty. I showed the duty manager the issue with the phone delaying by up to 10 seconds when I am making calls and also the fact that when I use the answer and hold the call function it hangs up on the other caller. The duty manager then pulled up my phones details and stated that as I had bought it 50 days ago they would replace it there and then as it was outside the 28 day warranty to immediately replace a faulty hand piece. Obviously I wasn't happy about this and sighted that under the Trade Practices act they must replace a faulty good when deemed within a fair and reasonable time (which when only owning a phone for 50 days is of course more than fair and reasonable time). The manager wasn't able to provide me with a written copy of this policy and to date I haven't received the e-mail as promised of this policy. I also asked where they kept their copy of the trade practices act so we could review this in the store which they didn't have. Finally I asked that Vodafone's in-house council please call me to discuss this legal issue and obviously like most people who are with Vodafone I have had no reply. I have a SME with over 22 mobile phones so like many of you I will be changing all the phones over to another network when the phones come up for renewal :)

14103 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is a huge regret at 22 Jan 2011 06:17:59 AM
The Sydney Big Day Out is coming up next week and if it's anything like last year I won't be able to make a single call or send a single text. Never a problem on other services. Vodafail.
